– Bill Goldberg will be appearing on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs this coming Wednesday night. He’ll play the brother of character Coach Mellor. Adam Goldberg, creator of the show, is a longtime pro wrestling fan and did a pro wrestling episode earlier in the show’s run.
Here’s the synopsis for this week’s “Goldberg on The Goldbergs” episode:
“When coach Mellor tells Beverly about his strained relationship with his brother, she intervenes, prompting a face-off; Geoff and Erica struggle with their long-distance relationship.”
– Bray Wyatt did not compete at this weekend’s WWE live events, but we haven’t heard anything about him being injured. It’s worth noting that Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas was not at RAW last night. Michael Cole noted on commentary that Dallas was under the weather. Wyatt appeared on last night’s RAW for the Sister Abigail segment but it may have been pre-taped.
– On Monday’s RAW, Emma won a Fatal 5 Way match to earn the right to face Asuka at TLC in Asuka’s main roster debut. Lucky her! She spoke to Mike Rome backstage at RAW and said she’s sick of hearing about Asuka and seeing the promo videos hyping her debut. Emma says she’s the one who started the women’s revolution and she’s the one we should be talking about every single week.
Raw Talk was delayed last night, as WWE cameras kept their focus on the ring area. Bill Goldberg, who lost the Universal championship to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, cut an in-ring promo, addressing his return to WWE these last few months.
Will Goldberg Ever Return to the WWE?
It is believed that Goldberg’s WWE contract has run out, though both sides are leaving the door open for a possible return. Goldberg’s return did great ratings for WWE, which led to his inclusion at WrestleMania 33. With both sides seemingly happy with how things faired this time around, it is safe to assume Goldberg and WWE will look to work together again in the future.
Should Goldberg continue to wrestle a few matches/minutes a year, he would join the company’s expanding roster of part-time attractions.
Gillberg made his WWE return on Monday’s RAW from Las Vegas during the Friendship Festival segment with Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.
The segment saw Jericho call out Goldberg, knowing Gillberg would be the one to come out. Universal champion Kevin Owens would proceed to beat the crap out of Gillberg before doing the same to his now former best friend.
The real Goldberg took to Twitter and commented on Gillberg’s return:
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared on tonight’s Raw from Laredo and issued a challenge to Goldberg for Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando this April.
Goldberg took to Twitter after the segment and announced that he will be on next week’s Raw from Portland, Oregon to respond. He wrote on Twitlonger:
This week’s RAW ended with a staredown between Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker to promote Sunday’s Royal Rumble Match. That staredown continued after RAW ended before Brock Lesnar was the first to make his exit.
Goldberg then left but stopped to greet a few fans at ringside. The Undertaker did his trademark pose before leaving the ring and raising his fist on the stage.
Goldberg will be working more than the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 33 as his new WWE contract includes a date for the 3/5 Fastlane PPV from Milwaukee as well.
The former World Heavyweight Champion is expected to appear on WWE TV often during WrestleMania 33 to promote all three of his pay-per-view appearances.
Goldberg will participate in the 30-man Royal Rumble main event. He’s rumored to face face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
– John Cena and Dean Ambrose defeated WWE IC Champion The Miz and WWE Champion AJ Styles in the dark main event of last night’s SmackDown in Chicago. Below are some photos:
– Goldberg turns 50 years old today. He wrote the following on the milestone via Twitlonger:
“Can’t thank everyone enough for the well wishes on my monumental 50th birthday……. just remember, 50’s the new 30! Meet u at the gym!!!!! #WhosNext #every1isnext @wwe @GoldbergGarage #silverback”
Other wrestling birthdays for today include Cesaro (36), Ax of Demolition (69), Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine (29), Bart Gunn (53), Thea Trinidad (26). Today would have been Chyna’s 46th and The Wall’s 49th birthday.
– John Cena just revealed on Twitter that he will be opening tonight’s WWE SmackDown broadcast from Chicago.
– WWE announced 12,708 fans in attendance for tonight’s RAW from the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
– WWE taped Lince Dorado vs. Tony Nese and Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil tonight in Chicago for this week’s WWE Main Event show.
– WWE has confirmed Goldberg for next Monday’s RAW in Tampa, the first RAW of 2017. Below is a new promo for Goldberg and Brock Lesnar entering the Royal Rumble main event:
– John Cena will be hosting Saturday Night Live next weekend, December 10th. The musical guest for that show will be Maren Morris. The 15-time World champion is currently away from WWE television and just signed on to co-star in another comedy movie.
– The final rating for Monday’s RAW was a 2.21. This is up from last week’s 2.14 rating. As reported, this week’s RAW averaged 3.110 million viewers, up from last week’s 3.002 million.
– WWE posted this promo looking at The Bollywood Boyz, who defeated Gulak & Nese on the 205 Live premiere this past Tuesday:
– Bill Goldberg tweeted the following as he trains for the 30-man WWE Royal Rumble main event next month:
– The official theme song for WWE TLC is “Ready For War” by Adelitas Way.
– WWE actually issued a poll this week asking fans about other possible match-ups for Goldberg. The options were John Cena, The Undertaker, Rusev, Roman Reigns or Bray Wyatt. Taker is leading the poll with over 40% of the vote while Cena and Reigns are tied at 20%.
– Brie Bella used her baby bump to thank The Bella Twins’ 100,000 YouTube subscribers yesterday but as seen below, Nikki Bella enlisted the help of a few SmackDown Superstars for her “thank you” video:

– Jack Gallagher talks to Dasha Fuentes after his WWE 205 Live win over Ariya Daivari in this new web-exclusive video. Gallagher calls his journey the “pursuit of excellence” and says no matter what you should always do three things – treat your opponent with respect, fight as if The Queen is watching and try to win like a gentleman if possible.
– Eric Young vs. No Way Jose plus NXT Champion Samoa Joe’s return has been announced for next Wednesday’s NXT episode on the WWE Network.
– WWE is currently working on a “WWE 24” special for Goldberg’s return, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
– Wrestling veteran and Ring of Honor announcer Steve Corino will begin working as a full-time coach at the WWE Performance Center in January. There is a report going around that Corino has already signed with WWE, but he is currently under contract with ROH until the end of the year.
Corino spent a week as a ‘guest trainer’ at the PC earlier this month and called the facility “wrestling heaven.”

Goldberg recently spoke with ESPN.com and says he believes he’s always provided WWE a return on their investment, which is why they have extended his deal to compete at the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble in January.
“It’s completely dependent if you are a smart businessman upon the return on your product,” he said. “I believe that you have to wait and see if that investment is going to pay off and I think each and every time I was given the opportunity, I hoped that I was able to carry the ball and give [WWE] the confidence to have me back and further include me in their plans.”
There’s speculation on another Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 33 but Goldberg insists he’s not looking past the Rumble, just yet. He said, “I’m only as good as my next appearance and my next match. I’m concentrating on the Royal Rumble and that’s it. I don’t have any plans of doing anything afterwards. My focus is on the 29 other men that I’m going to have to crucify to win that damn match.”
Regarding the Survivor Series squash over Lesnar, the 49 year old says the best way for him to win was with shock & awe at this stage in his career.
“I think at this time in my career, the best way to take [Lesnar] down was shock and awe, to do something that nobody would expect against a monster like that,” Goldberg said. “At the end of the day, you have smart marks all over the world thinking that they know the outcome of a match. I don’t believe any of them thought that was going to be it.”

Brock Lesnar has reportedly signed on to participate in the January’s Royal Rumble 30-man battle royal, according to a report at Pro Wrestling Sheet. The news comes the day after Goldberg declared himself as the first entrant.
As noted earlier, the third installment of Lesnar vs. Goldberg is being discussed as one of the top matches for WrestleMania. With the controversial finish to Sunday’s Survivor Series main event and Lesnar being squashed by Goldberg in 86 seconds, it’s clear this feud is far from over. Expect WWE to use the The Royal Rumble as a chance to propel this feud into the spring.
The 2017 Royal Rumble takes place on January 29th from San Antonio, Texas.
Coming off his 86-second win over Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series, Goldberg appeared on tonight’s RAW from Toronto and confirmed that he will be in the 30-man Royal Rumble main event in January 2017.
Goldberg first teased that all good things must come to an end, but something funny happened when he was walking to the back after defeating Goldberg. Stephanie said Goldberg had one more jackhammer, one more spear, one more ass kicking left in him. But does he have one more title run left in him? Goldberg said you bet your ass he has one more title run in him and at the Royal Rumble, “Everyone is next!”
The winner of the Royal Rumble earns a title shot of their respective brand in the main event of WrestleMania 33, so Goldberg could theoretically be the WWE Universal Champion come April.
The 2017 Rumble takes place on 1/29 from The Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.
We haven’t seen the last of Bill Goldberg in a WWE ring. After a shocking squash victory over Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, Goldberg has reportedly signed a deal with WWE that will see him compete at January’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
The news comes courtesy of James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet. As soon as Goldberg’s hand was raised at Survivor Series, it became clear that this was almost certainly not his final WWE match. Goldberg going over Lesnar in such stunning fashion made it clear Goldberg would be lacing up his boots once again.
The current plan is for Goldberg to compete in the 30-man Royal Rumble battle royal, which takes place on Sunday, January 29th from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas. It’s not yet known if he’ll be sticking around for WrestleMania, but Goldberg fans have more exciting moments to look forward to as we enter 2017.
According to sources backstage at Survivor Series, the majority of the WWE locker room was genuinely shocked at the outcome of the main event. The match result was a closely guarded secret that only select people knew about. This tweet from RAW General Manager Mick Foley was apparently a shoot:
This Sunday, Brock Lesnar looks to avenge his WrestleMania XX loss to Bill Goldberg at Survivor Series. Goldberg revealed this week that he tweaked his shoulder on RAW and his body feels “horrible,” but you can expect this one to be a very physical encounter.
According to a report from CageSideSeats, Brock Lesnar is favored to get the victory over Goldberg, with a big sendoff for Goldberg planned for after the match. Lesnar going over makes the most sense, with Goldberg declaring Lesnar is “last” – a sign that his WWE return is a one-and-done. There’s huge equity in defeating Brock Lesnar and it makes little sense to cash in on a legend like Goldberg who is at the end of his road.
While Goldberg won’t pick up the win, you can guarantee he is being paid handsomely for this comeback and his wife and child will finally get to see him do what made him famous. A Hall of Fame induction is also likely at some point, a losing effort against Lesnar this Sunday will still be a big win for Goldberg.
Monday’s WWE RAW from Buffalo, NY drew 2.876 million viewers, up from last week’s taped UK show, which did 2.767 million viewers.
The show featured Brock Lesnar and Goldberg facing off in the same for the first time since WrestleMania XX and more build-up for Sunday’s Survivor Series PPV. Here’s the hourly breakdown:
Hour 1: 2.960 million viewers
Hour 2: 2.930 million viewers
Hour 3: 2.743 million viewers
RAW was #9 on cable in viewership and #4 in the 18-40 demographic. The NFL owned the night with 10.7 million cable viewers.
Jim Ross has penned a new article for Fox Sports looking at Bill Goldberg’s return to the ring this Sunday at Survivor Series. The article includes quotes from Goldberg himself and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
“Goldberg vs Lesnar is married to the WWE2K17 video game where fantasy warfare meets reality,” Vince said. “It’s Ali vs Marciano, Mayweather vs Sugar Ray Leonard … Goldberg vs Lesnar.”
Vince also commented on the strong crowd reaction Goldberg received in Denver for his first WWE television appearance in over 12 years.
“The reaction to Goldberg confirmed our confidence that Bill is still not only relevant in the WWE world, his reaction was met with passionate exuberance even after a decade’s absence,” Vince said. “Bill’s son has never seen him perform and Bill’s wife and son were blown away with the reaction in Denver. Survivor Series is going to be on fire!”
Goldberg acknowledged that he will be battling Father Time at Survivor Series, not just The Beast. “I’d love to be the Goldberg of old and not the Goldberg that’s old,” he said. “I’m 12 years older, and gray, but in those 12 years I that I’ve been away from wrestling I’m much wiser, and I have 12 years of MMA training that I can utilize. My stand up game is immensely better than it ever was in WCW or WWE.”
– It was announced at last night’s RAW in Buffalo that Brock Lesnar will be appearing at the 3/10/2017 WWE house show from Buffalo. This will be a Friday night house show.
– Goldberg appeared on the PIX11 Morning Show with WWE Network host Scott Stanford this morning. You talked about Paul Heyman and says he hopes Heyman doesn’t get involved at Survivor Series on Sunday or he will have to kill him. Goldberg does give Heyman some props, saying he’s a good mouthpiece for Lesnar.
Regarding the match against Lesnar on Sunday, Goldberg says he has to give Brock the chance to make it 1-1 after their WrestleMania 20 match years ago. Goldberg says he is nuts for returning to the ring after all this time, noting that his doctor asked why the hell he’s doing this after he went and got a physical last week. Goldberg says it’s bigger than him and isn’t about him trying to prove anything, it’s just about him sharing something with his family.
Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar went face-to-face for the first time since WrestleMania XX at last night’s WWE RAW from Buffalo.
On a show that continuously features as many minuses as pluses, the Goldberg and Lesnar segments have been standouts in recent weeks and the anticipation is high for their long-awaited showdown this Sunday at Survivor Series.
Predictions: Who do you expect to win this Sunday? Goldberg told Brock Lesnar, “You’re Last!” but do you think this will really be Goldberg’s final WWE match?
– Chris Jericho threw threw some shade at Bill Goldberg on Tuesday when asked by a fan how he and Goldberg are getting along backstage. Jericho replied:
The question was a reference to Jericho and Goldberg getting into a backstage fight during Goldberg’s initial WWE run. The current state of their relationship is unknown, but Jericho has been very outspoken about Goldberg over the years, stemming from Goldberg refusing to work with Jericho back in WCW. According to Jericho’s version of the story, he confronted Goldberg backstage when people told him Goldberg was bad mouthing him. They exchanged words and Jericho put him in a headlock, which Goldberg couldn’t get out of.
– AJ Styles had a rough night on Tuesday. Styles was defeated by Dean Ambrose on SmackDown, earning Ambrose a shot at the WWE Championship at December’s Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view. After the show, which took place from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, Styles was locked out of his car. Fans looked on as the Phenomenal One attempted to break into his own car. He eventually received help from arena security. Styles is heading overseas for WWE’s latest tour and is scheduled to wrestle in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
