Goldberg Talks Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins & More On ESPN (Video)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIBJdPAk_gM

Bill Goldberg appeared on ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday afternoon to discuss his WWE return and his upcoming match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series (11/20). The hosts play clips featuring Seth Rollins claiming he could defeat Goldberg, noting that Goldberg is no longer in the prime of his career. Goldberg laughs it off and jokes that while he used to be “the man,” now he’s just an “advanced-aged man.” He doesn’t pay the comment much mind, and says Seth is merely looking for a fight that could land him in the hospital. Goldberg says Seth Rollins better pray he doesn’t have anything left in the tank following his match at Survivor Series, or he’d be happy to serve Seth on a silver platter.

Goldberg notes how important it is to perform in front of his son. He says that his wife and child weren’t in his life during his wrestling days, and the chance to be “the guy” in front of his son is too great an opportunity to ignore. He confirms that the 2K17 deal led to his WWE return, noting that he never expected any of it to happen the way it did. Goldberg echoes his own sentiments from his RAW return, saying that there are too few superheroes for children to admire nowadays.

Kellerman notes that Goldberg is still in phenomenal shape after competing in both professional wrestling and in the NFL. He asks Goldberg to name his secret, and the former champion chuckles: “I’m Goldberg dude. If anyone can do it, it’s me.” He says that there aren’t many believable combatants who stand a chance against Brock Lesnar, but he’s one of them and he has the support of the WWE Universe. When asked about his initial departure from World Wrestling Entertainment, Goldberg notes that he didn’t agree with the direction the company was going. He says that children are the future, regardless of how far you want to push the envelope in terms of creative, so WWE should be something all ages can enjoy.

They ask about Goldberg’s conditioning, wondering whether he can still hoist a 500-pound wrestler above his head. He laughs and says that he actually scooped a 420-pound strongman competitor just last week at his home. He says it’s still pretty easy, noting that he’s a competitor so he’s always been training. Smith asks Goldberg if he had any influences in the wrestling business, and Goldberg says he never wanted to be like anyone else. He says he liked to take different aspects of people’s personalities and in-ring repertoires, but always wanted to make everything his own. He admits, however, that as a “Neanderthal meathead,” he always gravitated toward hard-hitting superstars such as Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen.

As far as his upcoming return to the squared-circle on November 20th, Goldberg says that he’s going to put his fist through Brock Lesnar’s face. He admits to have great respect for Lesnar, and has even been in attendance for his UFC fights wherein he cheered alongside the rest of the audience. However Survivor Series is different, and Brock Lesnar still owes Goldberg a rematch from their less-than-impressive outing at WrestleMania 20.

Goldberg ends the interview by stating: “Brock Lesnar is next.”

Goldberg Takes Out Rusev & Paul Heyman On RAW (Video)

Goldberg returned to WWE TV on tonight’s RAW from Hartford and ended up taking out Rusev with a Jackhammer and Paul Heyman with a spear before the segment was over.

Heyman interrupted Goldberg’s show-opening promo and teased that Brock Lesnar was coming out to fight. Lesnar never showed but Rusev did. Rusev had words for Goldberg before attacking him. Goldberg fired back with some botched knees and a Jackhammer, then a spear for Heyman.

You can see photos and video from the segment below.

Goldberg Returns To WWE RAW (Video)

Bill Goldberg returned to WWE after a 12 year hiatus on Monday’s WWE RAW from Denver, Colorado. Goldberg made his memorable entrance, starting backstage and coming out to his classic WCW theme music as he walked through pyro on the stage.

In the ring, Goldberg soaked up the crowd reaction, which included “holy sh*t” and “this is awesome” chants. He was genuinely touched by the moment, pointing out this was the first time his wife and son got to see him live in a WWE ring.  Goldberg said he would have been comfortable simply being a part of the WWE 2K17 video game – until Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar called him out last week.

Goldberg says he’s got one more spear in him, one more devastating jackhammer and warned Brock Lesnar: not only is he “next” – but he’ll be last – indicating this will be a one-off match for the former WCW & WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

The match is expected to take place at WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, November 20th.

Brock Lesnar will be on next week’s RAW to react to Goldberg accepting his challenge.

Why WWE Wants To Do Lesnar vs. Goldberg Now, WrestleMania 33 Plans

During Bill Goldberg’s appearance on ESPN SportsCenter on Wednesday night, the former WWE Superstar expressed a willingness to return to WWE and named Brock Lesnar as the dream opponent who could draw him out of retirement. Although he stopped short of announcing an official return, the Wrestling Observer maintains that Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar is the plan for Survivor Series as recently as Tuesday.

If you’re wondering why WWE doesn’t hold off until WrestleMania for the match to take place, the idea is to use the hype surrounding this blockbuster bout and cross promote WWE 2K17. According to Meltzer, the match will be a one-off and is not leading to a longterm feud.

Another reason WWE is going right into Lesnar vs. Goldberg match is because WWE already has Lesnar’s next several opponents mapped out. While things could change between now and WrestleMania, the current plan is for Lesnar to face WWE RAW commissioner Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. WWE already laid the groundwork for that encounter at SummerSlam, when Lesnar laid out Shane following the beatdown he served to Randy Orton.

While WWE is open to using Goldberg again, the relationship has still not completely “thawed out” and Goldberg admitted on SportsCenter that he hasn’t spoken to Vince McMahon directly since WrestleMania 20.

Goldberg Match Rumored For WWE Survivor Series

Take it for what it’s worth, but there’s a lot of buzz about Bill Goldberg returning to WWE very soon, with reliable sources indicating a deal has already been signed. To add fuel to the fire, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross tweeted:

Goldberg will be appearing on ESPN SportsCenter on Wednesday night “to promote WWE 2K17.”  WWE has been playing up a rivalry between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar to promote the game. Now we might actually see the two of them battle in a WWE ring once again next month.

Goldberg tweeted the following, which appears to be a response to the rumors of him returning to WWE:

Discussion: What do you think about this potential rematch happening at Survivor Series?

Goldberg Close To Signing With WWE?

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline is reporting that a deal is close to being done or is potentially done already between the WWE and Bill Goldberg.

Goldberg will be on ESPN Sports Center this Wednesday, one of the topics he will be discussing is his relationship with the WWE, we could very well hear some breaking news during this interview.

Goldberg is currently very heavily involved in the marketing for the new WWE video game WWE 2K17.

What Happened After RAW, Tyson Kidd Update, Goldberg On ESPN

– Bill Goldberg will be Jonathan Coachman’s guest this Wednesday for the weekly ESPN SportsCenter “Off The Top Rope” segment.

– Prior to Monday’s WWE RAW from Los Angeles, Darren Young defeated Jinder Mahal and Neville beat Curtis Axel in matches taped for this week’s Superstars.

After RAW went off the air, Big Cass, Enzo Amore and WWE US Champion Roman Reigns defeated Chris Jericho, Rusev and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in the dark match main event.

– Retired WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd posted the following on Twitter, showing off how far he’s come since undergoing surgery last year for a life-threatening broken neck.

Eric Young Signing With NXT?, Bill Goldberg Reveals Surgery, More WWE Signings

– It’s believed that former TNA world champion Eric Young has signed with WWE and will be debuting soon. That signing has not been confirmed. Young made an appearance on NXT TV earlier this year and lost to Samoa Joe. (Source: PWInsider)

– Two new NXT signings that have been confirmed are Tommy End and Crazy Mary Dobson. They’re both expected to report to the WWE Performance Center in September.

– Despite some promotion hype teasing a possible match against Brock Lesnar, Bill Goldberg won’t be wrestling a match any time soon. The former WCW Champion told media in NYC this weekend that he had a double knee surgery about six weeks ago.

Update On Goldberg In NYC This Week, Goldberg Acknowledges Lesnar & Heyman Mocking Him

Following up on the news that Goldberg will be in town for some of the SummerSlam week festivities, the former WCW champion is a guest of 2K, not WWE. He’ll be doing promotional work for the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game, including Friday night’s WWE SummerSlam Kickoff event, presented by WWE 2K17. PWInsider is reporting that Goldberg is scheduled to attend SummerSlam.

The video of Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar mocking Golberg is back online after being taken down for several hours yesterday.

Golberg briefly acknowledged Lesnar’s “challenge” on social media:

Brock Lesnar Tells Bill Goldberg: “You’re Next” (Video)

On Monday afternoon a video was posted to Brock Lesnar’s official Facebook page featuring the Beast and his Advocate Paul Heyman calling out Bill Goldberg. Heyman congratulates Golberg on being a “supporting player” in the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game, which of course features Lesnar on the cover. Lesnar uses Goldberg’s famous catchphrase against him and declares, “Hey Bill, you’re next.”

Maybe it’s simply a promo for WWE 2K17 for a match that will only play out on Playstation and XBox video game systems. As reported earlier, Bill Goldberg will be in New York City for SummerSlam weekend and is scheduled to be backstage at the event. It’s unknown at this point whether or not Goldberg will appear on WWE television as part of his promotional work for WWE 2K17, but it’s interesting to see Goldberg being called out by the man who he defeated in his final WWE match back at WrestleMania 20.

Back in June, WWE posted an interview with Goldberg from behind-the-scenes of his WWE 2K17 commercial. Goldberg was asked if he has one more match left in him after all these years. He replied:

“I’ve got 50 more in me. It just depends on the ability to keep it up to my standards. … I’m 20 to 30 pounds less than what I was because I just don’t need to be that dude with traps from his ears to his shoulders. Would I like to be that guy again? Absolutely. He’s still in there.”

A potential Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg rematch may seem far fetched. However, with Lesnar under contract, Goldberg expressing an interest in wrestling and now Lesnar calling him out, the marquee battle could theoretically occur.

Goldberg In Town For SummerSlam, Ryback-Japan, Shane Sneaker Shopping (Video)

– Complex has released a video of Shane McMahon shopping for sneakers at Flight Club in New York City. Shane talks with Joe La Puma about his return to WWE SmackDown, his love for Air Jordans and his thoughts on Kanye West’s sneaker line.

– Bill Goldberg will be in New York City this weekend to be part of the WWE SummerSlam festivities, according PWInsider.com. Goldberg will be taking part in promotional events for WWE 2K17 and is scheduled to be backstage at SummerSlam.

– Former WWE Superstar Ryback is teasing that he could be heading to Japan in the near future. The Big Guy is releasing a new t-shirt with artwork that depicts him as “The Big Guyjin.” For those familiar with Japanese wrestling, gaijin refers to foreigners. As we’ve been reporting, he’s scheduled to make his first post-WWE appearances in September and would be free to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling after that time.

Goldberg Talks About His WWE Run, If He’d Wrestle Again & More

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wouj5hT5vo

Bill Goldberg spoke with WWE.com this week to discuss his participation in the upcoming WWE 21K17 video game, due out in October. Goldberg has been very outspoken about his rocky relationship with WWE over the years, but sounds like he’s at peace with his WWE run and the company as a whole. Here are some highlights of what Goldberg said about:

Does He Consider His WWE Run A Success?

“Hell yeah, it was successful. I got paid and I put smiles on people’s faces, so I don’t think you can say that it wasn’t a success by any stretch of the imagination. At the end of the day, leaving WrestleMania, having my hand raised, beating Brock Lesnar… I’d say it was a pretty successful tenure.”

Brock Lesnar Being His Final WWE Opponent:

“We were behind the eight ball from the beginning. What could have been arguably the most vicious and intense match that WWE or any wrestling ring has ever seen, bar none, the potential for that match was not reached by any question. People knew that we were both leaving, so what do you expect? I may have acted the same way as the fans. I don’t blame them one bit.

There were some good moments from [the match]. Any time I get in the ring with Brock Lesnar and go toe-to-toe and have some fun … I’m an athlete, bro. I’m a competitor; that’s what I do till the day I die. I’m going to be that guy.”

If He Has Another Match Left In Him:

“I’ve got 50 more in me. It just depends on the ability to keep it up to my standards. … I’m 20 to 30 pounds less than what I was because I just don’t need to be that dude with traps from his ears to his shoulders. Would I like to be that guy again? Absolutely. He’s still in there.”

Bill Goldberg On The Best Match He Ever Had, DDP’s Influence On His Career & More

Former WCW mega-star Bill Goldberg recently spoke with Sportstown Chicago to promote his new film, “Checkpoint.” During the interview, Goldberg spoke about his match against Diamond Dallas Page at WCW’s Halloween Havoc 1998 pay-per-view and how DDP had a lot to do with the success he had in his pro wrestling career. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On if he agrees that his match with DDP at Halloween Havoc 1998 was one of the best of his career:

“Absolutely. And I agree to that because of who my dance partner was. And it was Dallas Page.”

On DDP having a lot to do with the success of his wrestling career:

“Dallas had a lot to do with the success of my career. When he approached me with a 14-page wrestling match, I was a bit indifferent. You just got to wrangle Dallas a little bit. He’s very enthusiastic, he’s got a very creative mind.”

On why the DDP match at Halloween Havoc 1998 was so special:

“I obviously never replicated a match like that because I never had a main event like that with Dallas again and that should show you and tell you who was responsible for that match. Obviously it takes two to tango but I was absolutely honored to take part in a monumental match with Dallas. It was awesome, it really was. There’s no doubt it was the best match of my career.”

Bill Goldberg Compares His Acting Career To The Rock’s

https://youtu.be/EufLcS67NpQ

Former WCW star Bill Goldberg recently spoke with the Huffington Post about his role in the new movie “Check Point.” During the discussion, Goldberg compares his acting career to The Rock’s, talks about his new movie and more. Below are some of the highlights.

On the emotional plot of Check Point:

“Terrorism, as a whole, is — I don’t want to say ‘taboo’ — but it is a very emotional subject. For the plot of the movie to be that it is homegrown. The fact that it happens on our own soil and at the hands of our own citizens is touchy. Not only is it a reminder of the harsh reality that terrorism exists, but that it can actually be carried out on somebody that was born in the United States.”

On why he was attracted to the project:

“With my involvement with the military, and always wanting to raise awareness, I thought it was a perfect project.”

On how this role varies from his usual ones:

“Is it stretching my acting legs? No — and yes. The part is an extension of myself, but any time I’m able to surround myself with experienced actors, I can do nothing but grow.”

On The Rock’s acting compared to his:

“‘The Rock’ has definitely set the bar. He’s in a class by himself, and he always will be, I believe. He’s an ‘entertainer,’ and always has been — in the ring and out. I’m more of a ‘competitor;’ I like to go in the ring and let people judge the competition.”

Goldberg Talks About Wrestling At A Stadium Show This Year & Why He Won’t Return To WWE

Bill Goldberg spoke to RollingStone.com this week to promote his appearance at the Legends of Wrestling event at Citi Field in New York City. The show will appearances from Bret Hart and Ric Flair, as well as matches featuring Scott Steiner, the Nasty Boys, Ken Anderson and more.

Once again, Goldberg says he’s strongly considering a return to the ring this year, but it won’t be for WWE or Global Force Wrestling.

“There is an actual date in a stadium in this country that is set up with entertainment to put on an event like nobody’s ever seen. And it’s in my court. It’s all about timing, it’s all about the right opponent. There’s so much that goes into this, especially if it’s my last time. And I honestly don’t know if I’m 100-percent willing to do it, because I’m seriously considering kickboxing right now.”

Goldberg wants to compete one last time so his son can see him wrestle, but explained why he’s got no interest working for Vince McMahon more than a decade after his final WWE appearance at WrestleMania 20.

“I refuse to do it. The one year that I [joined WWE], I’m so mad at myself for doing it, but I owed it to the fans to try it. I put myself on that platter and I got slaughtered. That’s how I feel, and I shouldn’t feel like that. I should think wrestling is the most positive thing in the world. The fact is, behind the scenes, there’s stuff that goes on that’s bush-league. It’s laughable.”
