Final Impact Wrestling Rating For 6/19: Did Lashley Title Win Help Numbers?

The Thursday, June 19th edition of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV, which featured Bobby Lashley defeating Eric Young to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion, scored a final cable rating of 1.01, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 1.01 final draw marks a decent increase as compared to last week’s show, which delivered an 0.89 final rating.

Thursday’s edition of Impact Wrestling averaged 1.330 million viewers, which was also an increase compared to last week’s average of 1.005 million viewers.

    (Spoilers) Partial Taping Results For 6/26 Edition Of TNA Impact Wrestling

    TNA taped part of next week’s edition of Impact Wrestling on Thursday evening. The rest of next week’s show, as well as the show that will air on July 3rd, will be taped tonight at the Sands Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Below is what has been taped thus far for the June 26th episode.

    – Gail Kim & Taryn Terrell def. The Beautiful People in Knockouts tag-team action.

    – Sanada retained the X-Division Championship in a four-way match that also featured Crazzy Steve, Manik and Zema Ion.

    – An in-ring segment took place featuring MVP, Bobby Lashley and Kenny King, as well as Eric Young and Bobby Roode. Ultimately, MVP tried to fire Young and Roode, however the TNA Board of Directors came out and rescinded the firings, telling MVP that he is no longer the Director of Wrestling Operations for TNA.

    – James Storm def. Mr. Anderson in a one-on-one bout.

    – An in-ring segment took place with Dixie Carter bragging about MVP no longer being the Director of Wrestling Operations, assuming that she is again in control until the same member of the Board of Directors from earlier in the evening came out and informed her that she wasn’t in charge either. Dixie threw a fit and demanded to know who was in charge, but the man refused to tell her. Eventually, Bully Ray came out and threatened again to put Dixie through a table until Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud came out to make the save. Tommy Dreamer and Ethan Carter III ended up getting into a big brawl as well.

    – Magnus & Bram def. Willow & Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match.

    – The announcement is made as to who the new TNA Director of Wrestling Operations is, which turned out to be Kurt Angle. This led to MVP, Lashley and King coming out to threaten Angle until Young and Roode came down to the make the save.

    – TNA began running promotional ads on the New York City radio station WFAN this week. WFAN is among the most expensive sports radio stations in the country to advertise on.     – Samoa Joe made his return to TNA on last night’s edition of Impact Wrestling. Prior to Joe returning at the TNA tapings in early May, he had been away since the company’s TV tapings in March.

  • (Spoilers) TNA Impact Wrestling Taping Results For April 24th

    The following are results of the Impact Wrestling television taping for the Thursday, April 24th edition of the show.

    – Magnus comes to the ring for a promo. He says he was never really beaten by Eric Young for the title, and says the biggest failure that fateful night was his help. He says good help is hard to find. He brings out Abyss. Magnus calls Abyss an idiot and says he now realizes why everyone abandoned him. Magnus fires Abyss. Abyss says he realizes now that he’s a monster and that he’s going to once again start destroying lives, starting with Magnus. Magnus says Abyss is no longer a contracted TNA wrestler. MVP comes out and confirms that fact. MVP says he will consider this Abyss’ TNA tryout, and that if he can defeat Magnus, he can regain his spot back in TNA.

    – Bobby Lashley def. Kenny King via countout. Lashley dominated the majority of the match. As he was about to hit his finisher on King, King rolled out of the ring and simply walked off to the back. The referee counted him out.

    – Madison Rayne comes to the ring for a promo. She calls out The Beautiful People. They come out and Madison attacks them. They recover, however, and get the upper hand. Brittany does a run-in to try and save Madison, but the numbers game is too much for them. The Beautiful People do their brown-bag skit on Madison. Gail Kim eventually comes out to make the save. She challenges The Beautiful People to a match later tonight.

    – Kurt Angle def. Rockstar Spud. Angle dominated the match and finished off Spud via tapout with his ankle lock submission. Ethan Carter III comes out and attacks Angle after the match, but Willow ends up coming down to make the save.

    – The Beautiful People def. Madison Rayne and Gail Kim in Knockouts tag-team action.

    – Bobby Roode and James Storm def. Bully Ray and Gunner in tag-team action.

    – MVP def. Austin Aries in the main event of the evening.

    – According to reports, there were only approximately 900 tickets sold for Sunday’s TNA Lockdown pay-per-view in Miami, Florida. As has been the case for several of TNA’s recent poorly-attended events, there have been a number of photos circulating on the internet to emphasize how bad the attendance was for the show.

    – For those who missed the TNA Lockdown pay-per-view on Sunday night, Bobby Lashley made his return during the show. Lashley came out to answer the open challenge issued by Ethan Carter III.

    – Also of note at the TNA Lockdown pay-per-view, former World Champion Bully Ray came out as Dixie Carter’s “insurance policy” and served as the special referee for the Lethal Lockdown match. Ray ended up turning on Dixie and power bombing Bobby Roode, helping Team MVP secure the victory and control of the company.

    – Abyss made his return during the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match on the show between Magnus and Samoa Joe. Abyss came up from underneath the ring, pulled Samoa Joe down, and ended up attacking him with “Janice,” which allowed Magnus to secure the victory and retain the title.

    – Finally, Jeff Hardy made his return during the show, also in the Lethal Lockdown main event. Hardy returned as his childhood alter-ego, “Willow.”

    – Pierre Marceau, a 6’4″ French wrestler and former kickboxer, is now training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Footage from NXT’s “Presentations Skills” class was released earlier this month on YouTube before being quickly marked as a private. A YouTube user managed to save the footage before it was removed from public eyes and made it available online again; here is Marceau cutting a non-PG promo.

    – Forrmer WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley had a front row seat at last night’s WWE live event at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. Regarding the experience, he wrote on Twitter, “Great Seats, Great Show & Great Time.”

    – Last night’s episode of SmackDown scored a 65,882 in social media activity, according to Trendrr.TV, the program’s lowest score since June 7 with 62k. This figure is down from 84,444 two weeks ago and 68,179 last week.

    Bobby Lashley Attending Tonight’s WWE Live Event, Rob Van Dam Appears On “The JBL & Cole Show”

    – Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that he will be attending tonight’s WWE live event in Denver, Colorado.

    Lashley parted ways with WWE on February 4, 2008 after being asked to be released from his contract and now competes as a mixed martial arts fighter while occasionally wrestling at independent events. Regarding the nature of his departure from Vince McMahon’s organization, it was widely rumored that Lashley had had problems with the head writer of SmackDown at the time, Michael Hayes. Lashley’s former girlfriend, Kristal Marshall, alleged in a 2009 interview that Hayes, who was suspended from WWE in 2008 after reportedly using a racial slur to Mark Henry, had said several blatantly racist remarks to Lashley, and that this was the main reason he decided to bolt from the company.

    – This week’s edition of The JBL & Cole Show is now online and features Rob Van Dam. The synopsis reads, “In this edition of The JBL & Cole Show, RVD blesses us with some narration skills, Cole & Renee continue their tour of the WWE Performance Center, William Regal joins the cleaning crew, and JBL FINALLY makes it to Orlando on time….maybe.”

    Reason For No Crowd Response To Ryback On Raw, Lashley Not Fighting At WSOF, Raw Social Media Score

    – Monday’s Raw concluded with WWE Champion CM Punk encountering Mick Foley backstage and giving him a kick to the gut in response to a disappointed glare. Moments later, Punk stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing Ryback staring him down. The segment was also notable for the lack of crowd reaction to Ryback in the segment. According to fans in attendance, the segment was not shown to the live crowd as the Titantron screen was dark.

    – Former WWE Superstar-turned-mixed martial artist Bobby Lashley will not compete on the premiere World Series of Fighting event airing on NBC Sports Network on Saturday, November 3. The promotion released the full match line-up for their premiere event Tuesday and Lashley was not among those listed after being previously announced to appear. Pro Wrestling Torch has confirmed that Lashley will not be competing on the show.

    – Social media activity for Monday’s Raw was slightly up from last week. The episode garnered 287,260 in social activity, up from 255,107 on September 17. However, Monday’s show was below figures for the six previous weeks.

    Raw ranked second in social media activity for cable television programs, behind Monday Night Football.

    “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Gives Update On Knee Recovery, Shane Helms Interviews Bobby Lashley

    – Shane Helms interviewed fellow former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley for his Highway 2 Helms show. The video interview is available here.

    – WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin issued an update on his recovery from major knee surgery in a video message Wednesday morning.

    “I’m outta my brace for the most part, I put it on now and then when I have to do something kind of strenuous, when I’m working out or whatever,” stated the wrestling legend.

    He also noted that he will travel to Mexico in approximately ten days to film the next season of Redneck Island on CMT.

    Bobby Lashley Signs With New MMA Promotion: Next Fight Set For November

    Former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley has signed with the new World Series Of Fighting mixed martial arts promotion and appeared at a press conference for the company on Thursday.

    The organization will hold it’s first event this November, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports (formerly Versus) and will take place from from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    Lashley, currently with a 7-2 record, will fight on WSF’s debut show against an opponent TBA.

    Ultimate Warrior To Make In-Ring Appearance In October, WWE’s “Legends Of The Fall”

    – Making his first Massachusetts appearance in more than twenty years, Ultimate Warrior will appear at Big Time Wrestling’s debut in Downtown Boston, Friday, October 5 at the Reggie Lewis Center. Warrior will be in full face paint and make an in-ring appearance. Bobby Lashley, Carlito, Raven, The Sandman, a Divas Match featuring Jillian Hall

    The Ultimate Big Time Wrestling Fanfest will be held prior to the event where fans can meet The Ultimate Warrior and all the BTW Superstars! Fanfest starts at 5:00 p.m. First match is 8:00 p.m. The Reggie Lewis Center Field House is located at 1350 Tremont St, Boston, Massachusetts. Event details are available here.

    – The theme for WWE Classics On Demand programming during the month of October is “Legends of the Fall.” The evolution of Extreme Championship Wrestling, the inaugural WCW Fall Brawl and Two out of three falls match with Dory Funk, Jr. will be highlighted.

    Diva To Return At RAW1000, WWE Network Pre-Show, More

    –  Kelly Kelly will return to WWE this week after taking some time off the road since  May.

    – Kelly, has been Active with WWE Since 2006, was given time of to spend time with her family and boyfriend. She last appeared on television on the May 21 Raw SuperShow, losing to Beth Phoenix.

    – Sources indicate the WWE May have a 30 minute to one hour Raw pre-show to air on the new WWE Network. There’s also talk that some of the WWE YouTube shows will be produced on the WWE Network as 1/2 hour episodes. The WWE originally expected to launch the Network April 1st 2012, however that date was moved to the ambiguous “Fall 2012”. Insiders are speculating that may be pushed back now to early 2013.

    – WWE recently sent Gerald Brisco and Canyon Cemen were to recruit new WWE Talent in Colorado Springs, CO. Bobby Lashley & others train MMA in Colorado Springs.

     

    Kane Accidentally Bleeds During Raw, Lashley Attends Show

    – Kane bled under his mask on Monday’s Raw SuperShow after receiving an errant strike during the tag team match against Big Show and Chris Jericho. The mishap was not serious and he was able to finish the bout.

    – Former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley indicated on his Twitter account that he attended Monday’s duel Raw SuperShow and SmackDown event in Denver, Colorado. He tweeted two hours before the show, “Heading to the shows in Denver tonight!”

    Lashley, who parted ways with WWE in 2008 and moved to the world of mixed martial arts, announced last week that he is hitting the wrestling circuit gain and accepting offers for upcoming events, autograph signings and other appearances via LashleyBookings@yahoo.com.

    – The July 7, 2012 episode of A.M. Raw garnered a 0.33 cable rating, with 383,000 viewers.

    – WWE.com announced Wednesday details for SummerSlam Axxess taking place Saturday, Aug. 18 to Sunday, Aug. 19 at the Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE. Among those scheduled for VIP appearances include CM Punk, Sheamus, Triple H, Randy Orton, John Cena and Rey Mysterio, who has not returned to television following the expiration of his 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program.

    – Former WWE talent Bobby Lashley and Harry Smith are advertised to appear at the Fighting Back – Wrestling With Cancer show taking place Friday, Aug. 17 at Tudor Hall 3750 North Bowesville Rd. Ottawa, Ontario.

    Stacy Keibler Skips Gail Kim’s Wedding, Lashley Discusses Return

    The New York Post has published an article on Stacy Keibler skipping the wedding of longtime friend Gail Kim and the Food Network’s Robert Irvine to attend George Clooney’s fund-raiser for United States President Obama.

    The former WWE Diva missed out on the nuptials at the Charles Krug Wintery in Napa, California, on Thursday to instead be at Clooney’s big $40,000-a-head Obama gig also attended by Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jack Black.

    Newark Patch has published an article on Big Time Wrestling’s BTW SuperShow 2012 event last Saturday featuring former WWE Superstars Bobby Lashley, Chris Masters, Daivari and Matt Hardy. Lashley, who defeated Masters in the main event, explained why he competes at independent wrestling events.

    “I was an amateur wrestler and I wrestled for several years so I still paid my dues with amateur wrestling for 20 years before getting into the pro wrestling… [WWE] saw me. They thought that I had a good look, which I do!” Lashley said. “If [independent wrestling groups] need a little boost and bring in some names so be it. I think it’s a great idea, an awesome opportunity, and I’m going to try to do as many [independent shows] as I can.”
