Bobby Lashley AEW: Top 3 Matches We Need To See

As Bobby Lashley’s time in WWE appearing to be nearing its end, the wrestling world buzzes with speculation about his next move.

Many believe the “All Mighty” will head to AEW, including those supposedly close to the former WWE and ECW Champion.

Here are the top three matches we need to see if Lashley makes the jump to AEW.

1. Bobby Lashley vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

A Battle of Behemoths

Powerhouse Hobbs has long been touted as a future AEW World Champion. A match against Bobby Lashley would not only be a hard-hitting affair but could also serve as a major turning point in Hobbs’ career.

Hobbs, who has been struggling with creative direction in AEW, could find new momentum by facing a decorated veteran like Lashley.

This clash could also potentially set the stage for faction warfare, especially if Lashley reunites with MVP and Shelton Benjamin in AEW, creating an intense rivalry with the Don Callis Family.

2. Bobby Lashley vs. Swerve Strickland

A Clash of Styles

Swerve Strickland is one of AEW’s most dynamic and unpredictable talents. His innovative in-ring style would mesh well with Lashley’s power and aggression, making for a compelling match between the ropes.

The contrast between Strickland’s agility and Lashley’s brute strength could create a unique showdown that highlights both competitors.

A win for either man would solidify their position in AEW’s hierarchy, making this a must-see encounter, likely after Swerve has lost the AEW Championship.

3. Bobby Lashley vs. Darby Allin

The Ultimate Underdog Story

Darby Allin has made a career out of defying the odds, and a match against Bobby Lashley would be the ultimate underdog story.

Lashley’s overwhelming power against Allin’s resilience and never-say-die attitude would tell a captivating story in the ring.

Allin attempting to survive the onslaught of one of wrestling’s most physically imposing figures could establish Lashley as a threat in All Elite early on and this match could easily become one of AEW’s most memorable David vs. Goliath encounters.

Why Bobby Lashley Prefers Vince McMahon’s Booking Over Triple H

Many Superstars have benefitted from the creative direction of Triple H, though Bobby Lashley would prefer the booking of Vince McMahon. Speaking with the Laboratory Podcast, the All Mighty was asked who he “rocks with” between McMahon and his son-in-law.

“Vince understood me. Vince was big on the show. He looked at people that were stars. He saw that in… He looked at me like a star. I like Vince.

“I haven’t really had too much of a connection with Hunter. Hunter has his guys. I’ve tried to, but we haven’t really worked enough together to get to know each other.”

It’s hard to ignore how Lashley’s role has diminished since McMahon’s departure from WWE in January of this year. Since then, the former WWE Champion has been used sparingly with little in the way of significant feuds. Lashley’s most recent match on WWE TV came on an April edition of SmackDown where he lost a triple threat match.

Lashley’s contract with WWE will reportedly expire this weekend and it’s said many in the company believe he will go, potentially to join AEW. Lashley’s name has allegedly come up backstage in AEW, but as he is still under a WWE contract, no offer has been made to the Superstar.

The All Mighty is also said to have interest from Japan and the future looks bright for him should he leave WWE. Lashley, alongside MVP, was reportedly removed from the internal roster earlier this year, which was seen at the time as a sign that he’d be exiting the promotion.

Bobby Lashley Vs. Vince McMahon

It’s not just behind the scenes where McMahon worked with Lashley. In 2007, the pair feuded after Lashley (representing Donald Trump) defeated McMahon’s representative Umaga at WrestleMania, resulting in McMahon’s head being shaved bald.

Seeking revenge, McMahon would capture the ECW Championship from Lashley at the following month’s Backlash, albeit in a three-on-one handicap match. Lashley regained the gold at One Night Stand 2007, ending McMahon’s unlikely reign at 35 days.

Latest On Bobby Lashley’s WWE Status Amid Ongoing TV Hiatus

Bobby Lashley’s time as a WWE Superstar will be over as soon as this week unless a new deal with the company is reached, it has been reported. Fightful Select states that Lashley’s contract will expire this weekend, and those in WWE are under the impression he is leaving the company. No creative plans have been made for the two-time former WWE World Champion who hasn’t competed on WWE TV since April of this year. Lashley and MVP were removed from WWE’s internal roster earlier this year, which fuelled speculation that they were finishing with the company.

Bobby Lashley’s Future Outside WWE

With Lashley seemingly finished with WWE, all attention turns to what’s next for the All Mighty Superstar. Fightful notes that Lashley’s name has been discussed within AEW ever since news of his contract status emerged. Given that Lashley is still under a WWE contract, no offer has been made to the Superstar.

It’s been reported that Lashley and MVP are hoping to reunite in AEW in a move that could possibly see Shelton Benjamin brought into the All-Elite promotion. MVP’s contract with WWE is said to have already expired and he told those at Bloodsport XI that he wouldn’t be going back. Those close to Lashley believe he will make at least an appearance in AEW and stated that he’s ready to return to TV.

Lashley reportedly has interest from the fighting world, as well as from promotions in Japan. After his first WWE run ended in 2008, Lashley transitioned to MMA and joined Strikeforce in 2010. The All Mighty currently boasts an impressive 15-2 record in MMA, with six knockouts and six submission victories to his name.

Lashley has been one of WWE’s top Superstars for years but now those in the company are reportedly expecting him to leave this weekend. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on the future of the All Mighty.

Conflicting Reports on Bobby Lashley & MVP’s WWE Status: Latest Update

The wrestling world is buzzing at the news that Bobby Lashley and MVP may be on their way out of WWE. Over the weekend, word broke on social media that the former WWE and TNA World Champion’s contract is expiring soon. It’s also become known that Lashley’s former Hurt Business mentor MVP’s deal is also up this summer.

Lashley has been featured as a main eventer during his most recent run, but Mike Johnson at PWInsider reveals insider information about WWE and Lashley’s contractual negotiations.

Although Lashley was interested to remain with WWE, and still might, the financial offer ‘didn’t exactly make Bobby eager to sign.’

Bobby Lashley, MVP, WWE & The Hurt Business

The Hurt Business
The Hurt Business in WWE (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander and MVP)

The belief within WWE is that Lashley and MVP will leave when their deals expire. Considering that Shelton Benjamin is also a free agent, the speculation is that the duo may try to reform The Hurt Business outside of WWE. They wouldn’t be able to use the Hurt Business name, since WWE owns that trademark, but

Lashley’s last big match with WWE was at WrestleMania XL in the Philadelphia Street Fight involving The Pride and The Final Testament. MVP last appeared on the SmackDown before WrestleMania, managing Omos for The Andre The Giant Battle Royal.

We’ll be following this story closely and will provide our readers with updates as soon as they become available. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Bobby Lashley, MVP, and all your wrestling news.

Latest On Bobby Lashley & MVP Amid Rumor of WWE’s Internal Roster Removal

More has come to light regarding the fate of Bobby Lashley and MVP after the two Hurt Business alum were pulled from WWE’s internal roster. Lashley hasn’t competed for WWE since a May 2024 live event, while MVP, the manager of Omos, has similarly vanished from TV. Tamina Snuka’s name was also removed from the internal roster, and her most recent match came in February 2023.

Latest On Bobby Lashley & MVP

There is talk of Lashley and MVP heading to AEW, Dave Meltzer reported on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. It was added that AEW and MVP/Lashley cannot enter direct talks at this time as both men are still under contract with WWE. The contracts of both men will expire “relatively soon” and WWE is under the assumption that a new deal won’t be reached.

“Their contracts are going to expire…as things stand right now, WWE is under the assumption that they are gone.”

The Hurt Business

WWE believes there will be an attempt to revive the Hurt Business should Lashley and MVP leave. Lashley and MVP want to revamp the group alongside Shelton Benjamin, who was released from WWE in September 2023. The group’s fourth member, Cedric Alexander, has been teaming with Ashante Thee Adonis as of late.

It would ultimately be Tony Khan’s call as to whether the Hurt Business reunites in AEW but the idea is “under consideration.” Meltzer made clear that things are not a “done deal” yet, but are currently “alive.” MVP has tried to register the Hurt Business name, but the USPTO states that the term is a WWE-owned trademark.

The Hurt Business proved immensely popular with fans during their tenure and many, including the group’s members, felt splitting in early 2021 was the wrong call. The group did have a brief reunion and there were plans for a more substantial comeback though they didn’t go anywhere.

Bringing Lashley and MVP (as well as possibly Shelton) would be a huge coup for Tony Khan, one that WWE is currently under the assumption could very much happen. Keep tuned in to SE Scoops for the latest on this developing situation.

Bobby Lashley WWE Contract Update

Bobby Lashley may soon be on his way out of WWE. The former WWE and TNA World Champion has enjoyed arguably the best run of his career in recent years. Lashley’s WWE contract is expiring soon, according to Fightful, and there’s a good chance he’ll be a free agent in the months ahead.

Lashley, 48, has been wrestling for over 20 years and has not spoken publicly about wanting to retire any time soon. He’s has only wrestled on television five times in 2024, most recently at WrestleMania 40 in the Pride vs. Final Testament Philadelphia Street Fight.

Lashley was scheduled to be part of this year’s King of the Ring tournament, but was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to an unspecified injury.

Reactions to Lashley WWE Contract Situation

Big E calls him a monster, specimen, professional and gentleman.

Donovan Dijak also had great things to say about all the wrestlers who were part of the Hurt Business faction:

Lashley had a memorable run as WWE Champion as the main man of The Hurt Business. With MVP at his side, along with Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin, Lashley reached new heights in WWE. During The Hurt Business era, he held the WWE Championship until he lost it to Big E, who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in 2022.

Leading up to WrestleMania 40, Lashley had another opportunity to claim World Title gold by qualifying for the Elimination Chamber, but he was eliminated by Drew McIntyre.

Bobby Lashley Thinks He ‘Could And Should’ Have Another WWE World Title Run

Bobby Lashley Drops Out From King of the Ring Due To Injury, His Replacement

The 2024 King of the Ring tournament will continue on this week’s SmackDown, but will go on ahead without Bobby Lashley.

Taking to social media, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis shared news that Lashley has been pulled from the tournament as he is not medically cleared to compete. Aldis stated that the two-time former WWE Champion suffered a training-related injury but did not share any further details. In his place, fellow The Pride member Angelo Dawkins will be a part of the tournament.

This is a huge setback for Lashley, who has gotten tantalizingly close to being crowned King in the past. In 2006, Lashley made it to the finals of that year’s royal tournament before losing to Booker T.

While this is a blow to Lashley, his removal has provided Angelo Dawkins with a golden opportunity. Known predominantly as a tag-team wrestler, a strong performance in the King of the Ring tournament could put a lot of eyes on the Street Profits member. In October 2022, it was said that Dawkins was impressing a lot of the right people backstage, but a singles push has yet to emerge.

Lashley won’t compete in this year’s King of the Ring tournament.

Tournament Replacements

Lashley is the latest name in this year’s regal festivities to be replaced. Drew McIntyre was scheduled to face Finn Balor in a first-round match before also being pulled. Balor instead faced Jey Uso and lost to the ‘Main Event’ talent in the first round on Raw.

Xavier Woods, the 2021 King, has been replaced by Kofi Kingston as the UpUpDownDown leader is also not cleared to compete. Kingston will face Rey Mysterio on next week’s Raw. Asuka was scheduled to compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament but due to her injuries, has been replaced by Dakota Kai. The Kiwi Superstar was defeated by Lyra Valkyria in the first round.

WWE SmackDown Matches

Dawkins will have a lot to prove on this Friday’s SmackDown, as will the man he faces in the first-round match: Tama Tonga.

In a WrestleMania 35 rematch, AJ Styles will face Randy Orton in what will likely be an epic collision between former WWE World Champions.

The newly-drafted Carmelo Hayes hopes to make an impact after his recent loss to Cody Rhodes when he faces 2019 King of the Ring Baron Corbin.

The Megastar LA Knight hopes to advance but will face to overcome Santos Escobar (and likely interference from Legado Del Fantasma) to do so.

WWE Draft 2024: Superstars React To Night Two Picks on 4/29 Episode of Raw

The WWE roster has had plenty to say following Night Two of the 2024 Draft taking place during the April 29, episode of Monday Night Raw.

This year’s draft continued on the red brand with 20 selections being made in total. On Twitter, Chelsea Green was excited about new opportunities after she (and Piper Niven) were moved to SmackDown.

Bianca Belair was pleased that the ‘Big 3’ will be staying on SmackDown. Naomi has also been picked by the blue brand while Bianca Belair was the #1 pick during Night One of the draft.

The Pride, consisting of Bobby Lashley, the Street Profits, and B-Fab will be staying on SmackDown. Lashley gave an ominous message to those on the blue brand.

Montez Ford was similarly excited to remain with the rest of The Pride on the SmackDown brand.

Tiffany Stratton is pleased that she’ll continue to appear on SmackDown after being selected in the second round of the draft’s second night.

Braun Strowman was selected by Raw and made his first WWE TV appearance in months following an injury. The Monster Among Men confronted U.S. Champion Logan Paul on Raw and had a warning after his appearance.

The new rosters will officially come into effect following the WWE Backlash: France Premium Live Event on May 4. There will also be the Supplemental Draft: Night Two that will see more Superstars be chosen. Anyone who isn’t picked after the Supplemental Draft will be considered a free agent and eligible to be picked down the line.

More on the 2024 WWE Draft

Here are some recent articles regarding the 2024 WWE Draft as the landscape of WWE continues to change:

A-Town Down Under Defend New WWE Tag Titles Against Rey Mysterio After SmackDown, NFL Star Involved

Once SmackDown went off the air, there were not one, but two matches still on tap for the WWE fans in Pittsburgh, PA.

Grayson Waller and Austin Theory were presented with the new WWE Tag Team Championships on Friday night, which gave them the opportunity to not shake Triple H’s hand during the reveal. The champs did happen to stick around for the fatal four way tag match between New Catch Republic, The Street Profits, AOP, and Legado Del Fantasma to see Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins become the number one contenders.

Waller and Theory’s night was not done however as the new champs had to put their new hardware on the line against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. Popular Pittsburgh Steeler, Cam Heyward happened to be sitting behind commentary and Waller was quick to talk smack on the mic to the big defensive lineman.

Mysterio then grabbed the stick and made it clear that he and Dragon Lee had a different agenda.

“Let me give you a little update, you don’t want to show [the titles to them] it’s all good. Once we take those titles, we’ll bring them over there to them.”

Waller and Theory continued the smack talk during their first title defense as both jaw-jacked with kids at ringside. Lee and Mysterio almost got the victory when Rey just about hit the 619 but the heel duo got the definitive three count on the WWE Hall of Famer to retain.

A “Steel City Street Fight” Also Takes Place

Even though Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee didn’t come out victorious, fans were still anticipating a “Steel City Street Fight” Between Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross. Kross and Lashley slugged it out but it was “The All Mighty” getting the W when he speared Kross through a table and got the 1-2-3.

WWE Superstars To Go Head-to-Head On Upcoming Celebrity Edition Of Family Feud

The Superstars of WWE will be able to flex their game-show muscles as part of an upcoming episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

Taking to Twitter, Bianca Belair shared some photos from the taping and revealed that she is the captain of her team which consists of Belair, Jade Cargill, ‘Michin’ Mia Yim, Sonya Deville, and Zelina Vega.

The quintet of women will be up against Belair’s husband Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, Bobby Lashley, SmackDown Tag Team Champion Austin Theory, and LA Knight.

In a tweet of his own, Austin Theory was his usual cocky self at the Celebrity Family Feud taping.

It’s also worth noticing that Sonya Deville was part of the taping and did not need any sort of leg brace. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion has been out of action since June 2023 with an ACL injury, and the fact that she was able to do this taping unimpeded suggests that a return to the ring may be in the near future.

WWE On Game Shows

WWE appearances on Family Feud date as far back as 1992. In 2022, Rey Mysterio led a team of his family against The Miz. Team Mysterio would feature Dominik mere months before he turned on his Hall of Fame father to join The Judgment Day.

WWE Superstars have also appeared on The Weakest Link, with Triple H, Kane, and Xavier Woods proving their mental superiority in separate episodes. Superstars have also appeared on Wheel of Fortune.

The fact that WWE Superstars are set to appear on the show is another sign of the promotion’s ongoing popularity in the mainstream. With WWE firing on all cylinders right now, expect more big moves by the Superstars both in and out of the ring.

Philadelphia Street Fight Expected to Be Added to WWE WrestleMania 40 Card

The WWE Universe could be in store for a Philadelphia Street Fight in a matter of days at WWE WrestleMania 40, it has been claimed.

WrestleMania 40 will be the promotion’s fifth two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will take place on April 6 and April 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

WrestleMania Card Schedule

As of writing, 12 matches have been confirmed for WWE WrestleMania 40. Dave Melzer of F4W Online reports that 13 matches will take place at WrestleMania. This will be divided over the two nights with seven matches on WrestleMania 40: Saturday and six matches taking place on WrestleMania 40: Sunday.

A Philadelphia Street Fight

Meltzer adds that the Street Profits & Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross & Authors of Pain was made “obvious” during the March 29, episode of WWE SmackDown but has yet to be announced. It’s also noted that as of last week, it was booked within WWE to be a ‘Philadelphia Street Fight.’

On SmackDown, the Profits faced Grayson Waller & Austin Theory in a tag-team ladder match qualifier. Karrion Kross and Scarlett attacked Lashley and B-Fab backstage with the distraction costing the Profits the match.

WWE WrestleMania 40

Here is the card as it stands for WWE WrestleMania 40:

  • Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee) vs. Santos Escobar and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio

WWE Makes Big Change For Bobby Lashley & Street Profits Direction On SmackDown

WWE Superstars will sometimes get a fresh character change to help them along. It appears that Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits are now babyfaces after engaging in a battle for supremacy between stables.

Karrion Kross and AOP’s Final Testament stable is taking it to Lashley’s faction. This week on SmackDown, fans saw the beginning of a big transition, as The Pride is now fighting from the babyface side of things.

How WWE Turned Them Babyface (Exclusive)

Bobby Lashley faced Karrion Kross on WWE SmackDown this week. Despite Lashley’s efforts to fight back against Kross, The Authors of Pain interfered, leading to Lashley winning by disqualification.

The Street Profits entered the fray to help Lashley and brawled with the AOP. Meanwhile, Lashley and Kross were left alone until Scarlett and B-Fab got involved. Although Lashley attempted to apply the Hurt Lock on Kross, the AOP intervened and attacked Lashley.

Despite another attempt by the Street Profits to assist, they were overpowered by the AOP. Eventually, Kross and the AOP joined forces to overwhelm Lashley, with Kross delivering the final blow and standing tall alongside the AOP. This sent the Final Testament stable packing to end the segment.

I have been able to confirm that Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits have been transitioned to the babyface side of the SmackDown roster. Consequently, fans are expected to rally behind The Pride during their matches.

The Final Testament assumes the role of heels in this scenario, positioning them as the heels within the narrative.

What’s Next

We will have to see how long The Pride stable maintains their babyface status. At this time, it seems that Lashley and The Street Profits are enjoying this new burst of momentum on the roster.

SEScoops will have more on this story, and so much more in the pro wrestling world. Keep checking back for more updates on stories you need.

Bianca Belair Has an Idea Of What Kind Of Heel She Wants To Be In WWE

Bianca Belair is a former Women’s Champion in WWE, and she has maintained a consistent position as one of the top babyfaces since entering the main roster in 2020. Notably, her Royal Rumble win in 2021 and WrestleMania main event with Sasha Banks marked significant highlights in her WWE career. She did that as a babyface, but the idea of turning heel is always out there for the EST of WWE.

Bianca Belair Discusses Possible Heel Turn

Despite her established face status, fans vividly recall Belair’s time as a heel in NXT, and some would like to see her flex that side of her character on the main roster. With ongoing speculation about a potential heel turn being a frequent topic of discussion, she obviously heard that chatter from fans.

During a conversation with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Belair addressed these rumors. She acknowledged that her heel run in NXT contributed to her standing out as a performer, but did not necessarily benefit others in the company.

‘At NXT, I was a heel, but if I ever turned heel now, I want to be the right type of heel. I was the cool heel in NXT, which I don’t feel like benefitted anyone but myself. I got myself over.

If I’m in there with a babyface that’s not as established, it’s very hard for them. I learned when I got to the main roster how great it is to work with an amazing heel like Bayley when I first came in.‘

Belair Wants To Help Other Talent

The WWE superstar also emphasized the importance of Bayley’s heel character in helping her establish herself as a babyface on the main roster. If Belair were to turn heel in the future, she expressed a desire to play a similar role in supporting other talents.

‘The reason why I think I hit the ground running, as a good guy, was I had this amazing heel who was established and over. She helped introduce me to the audience and helped people get to know me and care about me.
That’s what I want to do if I ever turn heel, so I won’t be the heel you like and cheer for.‘

Since the Street Profits aligned with Bobby Lashley in 2023 to form The Pride, speculation has surrounded the possibility of Belair joining the group and experiencing her first heel turn since her main roster debut. As of this writing, that hasn’t happened yet, but you can never write off any possibility in WWE.

Which WWE Superstar Made Grayson Waller Swear Off Cake Forever?

Grayson Waller has a bright future ahead of him in WWE, but don’t expect the Australian to celebrate any future big wins with something sweet.

Waller has become a regular on SmackDown, despite having yet to hold gold on either the main roster or in NXT. The Australian’s partnership with Theory has been well-received by management, with both men expected to be elevated on the road to WrestleMania. Waller recently made headlines for protecting kayfabe in the face of an Australian morning show host.

Grayson Waller & The Cake

Waller has an impressive physique fans can see each week on WWE TV but isn’t immune to the occasional treat. During a recent appearance on the Boom Rookies podcast, Waller recalled working during a lengthy tour and intended to celebrate its completion with a delicious chocolate cake.

”I put the knife into the cake and in walks Bobby Lashley. This man is a physical specimen. Huge human being, jacked to the gills. Me and Bobby hadn’t spoken much, and he walked in and looked at the cake. For like a good 15 seconds, an awkward amount of time. Then, this breaks my heart, he looked up at me and said, ‘Are you really going to have that?’ I kind of went, ‘I had a tour…’ He just walked away.”

Waller’s interaction with Lashley was brief but had a profound effect on the former schoolteacher.

“I threw the cake in the bin. I haven’t gone for dessert at catering since. When I looked in his eyes, it looked like judgment. It looked like full judgment.”

Grayson Waller recently found out a shocking truth about the United States…

Factions of Bobby Lashley & Karrion Kross Get Confirmed New Names

Faction warfare is set to unfold on WWE SmackDown with the groups led by Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross both getting names this week.

Last year, Lashley returned to WWE programming and immediately aligned himself with the Street Profits. The faction has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown though have so far been unable to capture championship gold so far. The All Mighty is seeking to bring out a new level of aggression from Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins.

Bobby Lashley’s Faction Name

Before this week’s SmackDown, it was reported that The Pride was the expected name of Lashley’s faction. On Twitter, Lashley confirmed this new name for the group, as he stated in his Twitter bio that he was the leader of The Pride. Interestingly though, Lashley would change his bio shortly after to remove all references to The Pride. His bio currently reads as:

#SmackDown’s All-Mighty | Former WWE Champion. MMA Fighter | Professional Wrestler | Business Professional | Nutrabolics Athlete

Karrion Kross’ New Faction

Lashley’s faction didn’t confirm its new name on this week’s SmackDown, but Karrion Kross’ group did. On last week’s Smackdown, Kross and the returning AOP attacked Lashley, while Scarlett and Paul Ellering watched on.

During this week’s show, Lashley called out AOP and Kross but only received Ellering. The legendary manager pointed to the titantron where a video promo from Kross played. In it, the two-time former WWE NXT Champion confirmed his group’s name as The Final Testament.

Things didn’t go exactly according to plan during this week’s SmackDown…

WWE Has Reportedly Landed On Name For Bobby Lashley & Street Profits Stable

The Hurt Business consisted of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. That faction made money, traveled the world, and they brought a level of excellence to their promos. Now, Lashley is onto his next venture, and he has a new standing beside him. That new faction reportedly has a name.

Bobby Lashley & The Street Profit’s New Stable

After several months of Bobby Lashley teaming up with The Street Profits on WWE television, a faction name has been chosen. This comes after months of them appearing on television as an unnamed trio.

According to WrestleVotes, the intended name for the faction is “The Pride.” The name reveal was postponed for reasons unknown, but it was supposed to happen on last week’s episode of SmackDown. There may also be a shift in the group’s direction as well.

“There were plans in place to name the Bobby Lashley / Street Profits faction on last weeks SmackDown, which got axed at the last second for unknown reasons. I’m told those plans are still tentative as the direction of the trio could be shifting. The planned name for the group is “The Pride.”

The Background

The Street Profits turned heel when joining forces with Lashley, forming a new faction on SmackDown. They are currently involved in a storyline with AOP and Killer Kross.

There were talks within WWE about potentially adding Odyssey Jones to the group, but no developments have really progressed, and it appears they dropped the idea. Jones hasn’t made any television appearances since his main roster call-up during the 2023 WWE Draft.

WWE Superstars Share Their New Year’s Resolutions for 2024

2024 is drawing near and with it, so does the possibility for a fresh start for the Superstars of WWE.

Last year proved to be a year of massive change for WWE, with the biggest being the acquisition of WWE by Endeavor and the launch of TKO Group Holdings. 2023 also saw returns, releases, heel turns and a certain Tribal Chief continuing his dominant reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

So what’s next? Well here are some of the New Year’s Resolutions from the Superstars of WWE.

Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair lost the WWE Women’s Championship to IYOY SKY at SummerSlam, mere moments after capturing the gold at the same event. On last week’s SmackDown, Belair admitted she doesn’t usually make resolutions, but vowed to recapture the title and remain undefeated at WrestleMania.

Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits

On the show, Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits resolved that they will have “more” in 2024. Lashley added that the new year will not just be good for his faction, but it’ll be “All Mighty.”

Grayson Waller & Austin Theory

Grayson Waller & Austin Theory have impressed those backstage as a tag-team. On SmackDown, the pair said that winning singles and tag titles are their goals for 2024. Theory added that he wants to win the Royal Rumble while Waller plans on headlining WrestleMania.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio has a simple resolution for 2024: to get Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar.

Trish Stratus

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has shared her big plans for the New Year. After competing in 10 matches in 2023, the seven-time Women’s Champion plans to be back in the ring once again in 2024

Carmelo Hayes is Open to Talking “Business” with Bobby Lashley & His Faction

WWE NXT Superstar Carmelo Hayes isn’t actively seeking a role in Bobby Lashley’s faction, but that doesn’t mean he’ll never join.

Earlier this year, Lashley returned to WWE programming and immediately aligned himself with the Street Profits. The faction has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown though have so far been unable to capture championship gold so far.

Carmelo Hayes On Possibly Joining Lashley

With Lashley and the Profits making waves, many have been speculating on who could join the group. Odyssey Jones had been considered for the group, though all plans for him to join have seemingly been dropped

Carmelo Hayes is another name that fans have discussed as a possible addition. It was in March that Hayes shared a photo with the Profits and Lashley’s old Hurt Business ally MVP. Speaking to Vibe, Hayes discussed possibly joining the All Mighty and the Profits.

“Shoot, that’d be cool. Right now I’m so focused on what I got going on here in NXT. It’s going to take a lot more than just showing up and dapping me up to get me over there. I’m not thirsty for any membership. If they want me, they can holler at me and we can talk business. Respect to them, because they’re my brothers for real.”

Hayes also spoke about the importance of black Superstars and learning from people of color who have become major players.

“I feel like every Black wrestler that I’ve met has just shown so much love. Like Booker T, even Big E, just from top to bottom. It’s just like an unspoken camaraderie in a lot of ways. Booker for example, he wants the best for all talent, but Black talent as well. Booker T’s has been a huge advocate for helping with my progress.”

Earlier this year, Lashley shared a segment with Hayes and Trick Williams on SmackDown, as seen in the clip below.

CM Punk Once Had Real Fights On a WWE Plane. It Didn’t Go Well…

CM Punk may lay claim to being the ‘Best in the World’ but his fighting skills were outmatched by some WWE Superstars during a 2006 flight.

That year was a formative one for Punk, who made his TV debut as part of the relaunched ECW brand. Punk was a personal project of ECW head Paul Heyman, and would quickly become one of the most featured stars on the show.

CM Punk’s On-Board Flights

On a recent edition of his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker spoke about Punk and the relationship they have had in the ring. The Phenom recalled a time when Punk was traveling with the roster for the 2006 edition of Tribute to the Troops in Baghdad, Iraq.

“Somehow or another, the discussion comes up. I don’t know if Vince instigated this one or not… CM Punk, he fashioned himself as a jiu-jitsu practitioner. Someone broached the question, ‘You did jiu-jitsu. How long do you think you could last with one of these two wrestlers?’ It was Bobby Lashley, who wrestled for the Army, and Shelton Benjamin, who wrestled at Minnesota.”

The Undertaker added that Punk was confident, telling the roster “I’ll tap them out.” Despite this bravado, Punk was quickly humbled by Lashley and Benjamin.

I want to say the first match lasted about 47 seconds. The other one was sub-40, where they had taken them down and pinned him. He didn’t back down, but my goodness, it was like blood in the water and two great white sharks circling.”

Years later, Punk would compete in the UFC and have similarly rotten luck. Punk lost two fights for the promotion, though one of his losses was overturned after his opponent tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.

Bobby Lashley Pitches Tag Team Idea With Brock Lesnar

Like Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley has mostly been used as a singles star for most of his wrestling career. There are some things that the two WWE stars have in common such as their backgrounds in the world of MMA.

For years, Lashley pushed for a match with Lesnar and he had to wait for it. However, Lashley not only got a match with Lesnar but also three of them. They recently faced off once again at the Elimination Chamber premium live event.

Although they’ve made for good opponents for each other, Lashley is interested in potentially teaming up with Lesnar.

The Idea

While speaking on Sony Sports Network’s show Next Stop Hollywood, Lashley proposed teaming with “The Beast Incarnate.”

“This is completely far-fetched from a whole different angle. I thought me and Brock we fought a lot against each other. What if we were on the same team? We’ll be like the modern-day Road Warriors. It’ll probably be fun,” Lashley stated. “The crowd will probably get off on watching us go through dismantling people together. That would be pretty interesting.”

Lesnar will be wrestling Omos at WrestleMania 39, while Lashley is expected to wrestle Bray Wyatt.

Rumored Big Match Not Locked In For WrestleMania

A major match-up many have been expecting for WrestleMania this year is currently up in the air.

At Elimination Chamber, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley had their third singles bout. The latest showdown between the pair followed ‘The All Mighty’ making quick work of, and eliminating, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ from the men’s Royal Rumble match last month.

In a sprint-paced brawl, the two heavyweight monsters quickly got their spots in. Lesnar then got DQ’d for a surprise low blow just shy of the five-minute mark. The post-match antics saw the former UFC Heavyweight Champion obliterate both Lashley and the referee with F-5s.

The chaotic finish has left fans expecting a final, blow-off bout between the pair with a decisive finish. Their original clash at last year’s Royal Rumble win ended with a tainted Lashley win after Paul Heyman betrayed Lesnar. Their second bout saw Lesnar win with a surprise pinfall when he was locked in The Hurt Lock at Crown Jewel back in November.

Is Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar On The Cards For WrestleMania?

On the go-home SmackDown before Elimination Chamber, Bray Wyatt expressed his interesting facing the winner of Lesnar vs. Lashley III.

While Lesnar lost the bout via DQ, Wyatt very curiously specified he wants to face whoever “walks out alive” of the bout. Despite his loss, Lesnar was certainly not the worse for wear figure after his bout with Lashley.

The controversial ending of Lesnar/Lashley III was reportedly booked to keep the feud chugging along this year. However, according to a recent report from Fightful Select, the continuation of the feud may wait until after WrestleMania.

Considering Wyatt’s promo and Lesnar’s curious booking at Elimination Chamber, it looks like the big man may well be butting heads with Wyatt and Uncle Howdy very soon.

Would you like to see Bray Wyatt face either Brock Lesnar or Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania?

Kevin Nash: Bobby Lashley “Always Seems To Be Missing Something”

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash believes Bobby Lashley is missing something as a superstar.

Since returning to the company in 2018, Lashley has had great success in WWE. He left the company in 2008 to pursue other opportunities like MMA. He has won the Intercontinental Championship and WWE Championship twice since his comeback. Although he’s had a tremendous second run in WWE, Lashley still has his critics.

Nash has shared his thoughts on Lashley on his podcast Kliq This, which was aired on Ad Free Shows. He believes that Lashley may be too nice of a person, which prevents him from being taken as a threat compared to Brock Lesnar.

Wrestling Inc’s Dakota Cohen transcribed the following quotes.

“I love Bobby, he’s a sweetheart,” Nash said. “He just always seems to be missing something. I don’t know what it is … I think he comes across, to me, like he is a nice guy. He’s not a killer. Bobby Lashley is not a killer, you know? He’s the nice f****** guy. Where Brock Lesnar, who’s a nice guy, he, he just has that something in him. If you said, ‘Please, I’ve had enough,’ I think Bobby would stop. I think Brock would stomp you two more times.”

Is Another Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar Match Happening Soon?

WWE may look to have another match between Lashley and Lesnar. Both talents have loosely been in a feud for over a year. Wrestling fans may remember Lashley defeated Lesnar at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 29, 2022, to win the WWE Championship. WWE didn’t follow up on the feud until Lesnar attacked Lashley on the Oct. 10, 2022, episode of Monday Night Raw.

The attack led to their second match at Crown Jewel on Nov. 5, 2022, which Lesnar won. However, WWE made sure Lashley attacked “The Beast Incarnate” after the match to extend the feud. Lesnar took some time off until he returned to attack Lashley again to prevent him from winning the United States Championship at Raw is XXX on Jan. 23. In response, Lashley eliminated Lesnar from the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match on Jan. 28.

Both wrestlers have one win against each other, which sets up a match to end the year-long feud. WWE could have the third encounter between Lashley and Lesnar in April at WrestleMania 39. Lashley also wanted this as he challenged his rival to a match at WrestleMania in May of last year.

While it could be a big match at WWE’s biggest show of the year, the company could decide to go a different route. However, it makes sense for the feud to end soon.

Bobby Lashley Mocks Brock Lesnar After Royal Rumble Elimination

Bobby Lashley couldn’t help but ‘dunk’ on Brock Lesnar after eliminating him from Saturday night’s men’s Royal Rumble match.

Lashley cut a promo on SmackDown and warned the entire WWE Universe that he plans on being the last man standing in San Antonio. As he was speaking, Lesnar emerged from the crowd and viciously attacked the Almighty with an F5. The Beast declared his entry into the Rumble, setting the stage for another clash between these two heavyweights.

Having won Rumble in 2003 and 2022, Lesnar was considered one of the favorites the moment he was announced as a participant. In the hours leading up to the Rumble, Lashley warned WWE Superstars to stay out of his way.

He wrote, “I’m getting rid of Brock tonight, and THEN I’ll take care of the rest of you!”

Lashley Eliminates Lesnar

Brock Lesnar entered the Royal Rumble at #12 and went on a rampage. He flung Chad Gable, Santos Escobar and Angelo Dawkins out of the ring with ease. The next entrant into the Rumble was Bobby Lashley at #13. Two combustable forces like this do not co-exist for long. It all came to ahead when Lashley stunned the Alamodome by eliminating Lesnar.

As you can see below, Lesnar did not handle it well.

On Sunday morning, Lashley took a moment to mock Lesnar on Twitter. He told the former UFC Heavyweight champion to kiss his ass. It’s one thing to talk trash to Brock Lesnar. It’s another thing to antagonize him when he’s already riled up.

Brock Lesnsar vs. Bobby Lashley is rumored to be one of the top matches at ‘WrestleMania Goes Hollywood’ in April.

Bobby Lashley Wants “Really Cool Showcase” With Ex-WWE Superstar

Could WWE fans see Bobby Lashley’s Hurt Lock Vs. Chris Masters’ Master Lock, 16 years after the two last did battle?

When Masters debuted on WWE’s main roster in 2005, he put away countless opponents with his take on the Full Nelson, and would have a weekly ‘Masterlock Challenge.’

On the March 19, 2007, episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Lashley broke the Master Lock on his road to the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23.

Lashley Vs. Masters

After returning to WWE in 2018, it wasn’t long until Lashley adopted the Full Nelson himself, calling the move the Hurt Lock.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times this past week, Lashley spoke about the possibility of facing Masters again, possibly as soon as this Saturday’s Royal Rumble.

“I think if he has an opportunity to come back, I think that would be a really cool showcase. Whether it happens at the Rumble, you never know. The Rumble always has surprises. I think Chris has kind of proved himself in the professional wrestling world.”

Since leaving WWE in 2011, Masters has worked for TNA/Impact Wrestling, GFW, and the NWA, and is a two-time NWA National Champion.

Breaking the Lock

Masters has not been confirmed for an appearance at the Royal Rumble and has instead stated that he will likely not be competing this weekend.

In the interview, Lashley said that if somehow, the two do cross paths this Saturday, he is ready to break the Master Lock for the second time.

“If he comes back, you know what I would do? I’d literally just turn around and put my hands out and tell him to put it on me again. Then I’d ask him to do the same. And I guarantee you he’s not breaking out of The Hurt Lock.”
