Brock Lesnar Appearing on SmackDown and Raw

WWE fans should expect a lot more Brock Lesnar in the weeks ahead.

The Beast Incarnate captured the WWE Championship this past weekend at Day 1. Two days later, Lesnar reunited with Paul Heyman on Raw.

Heyman realigning with Brock Lesnar adds another dimension to his relationship with the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

Raw went off the air with Lesnar assuring Reigns, “I’ll see you this Friday on SmackDown” from Birmingham, Alabama.

Brock Lesnar will also be on hand for next week’s WWE Raw from Philadelphia, PA.

Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at the Royal Rumble later this month. It’s interesting to see that Lesnar is still thinking about Roman Reigns, instead of being laser focused on his next challenger.

Lashley should not be taken lightly and he might be able to exploit Lesnar’s lack of focus in the lead-up to the Rumble.

Lashley has wanted a match with Brock Lesnar for several years. Last year, he shared his theory for why the match never happened (until now). You can read all about that below:

Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar Set For WWE Royal Rumble

As expected, Bobby Lashley is next in line to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title.

On Monday’s episode of Raw, Lashley vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big E vs. Kevin Owens in a Fatal 4-Way Match with the winner becoming the number 1 contender was booked as the main event from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC.

It was a wild match with them brawling in the stands and backstage. Lashley pinned Owens with a spear.

Just like it was previously reported, this match is going to take place at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in St Louis, Missouri from The Dome.

Big E vs. Rollins vs. Owens vs. Lashley was originally supposed to be the WWE Championship match at Day 1 this past Saturday night. However, the show had to be changed in a big way when Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. Thus, he was pulled from his scheduled Universal Title match with Brock Lesnar at the event. Lesnar pinned Big E to win the WWE Championship.

WWE is still planning to continue the feud between Lesnar and Reigns despite Lesnar being moved internally to the Raw roster with the idea that he is a free agent as a way for him to appear on Friday Night SmackDown.

Bobby Lashley: I Don’t Think WWE Has Any Serious Competition

Bobby Lashley thinks competition exists for WWE but he doesn’t find any of it to be serious.

Much has been made about the “war” between WWE and AEW. Some dismiss the notion that AEW is a true threat to WWE, while others believe one promotion is on the rise while the other is declining.

Regardless of how you feel about the situation, many agree that the wrestling business is more fun because of it.

Bobby Lashley On WWE vs. AEW

During an interview with DAZN, Bobby Lashley talked about AEW’s emergence. The former WWE Champion is happy to see it but feels the company he calls home isn’t exactly worried.

“I think it’s great right now. I think there’s a lot of competition.

“I think we’re doing some big things, and we’re moving into a big season for us, with some big news coming around. I think that it’s a good time to be a wrestling fan, and it’s a good time for a wrestler with a good time to step up for everyone.

“Everybody always says competition is good. I don’t think really we have any serious competition.

“But the fans like it, the fans like the fact that there are other things going on that forces us to step up.”

Lashley is gearing up for the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series tag team match on Nov. 21. He will be teaming with Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, and Austin Theory representing Team Raw.

They’ll be going up against Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Xavier Woods, Jeff Hardy, Baron Corbin, and a mystery partner).

Bobby Lashley On Advice He Gave To Gable Steveson

Gable Steveson is already creating a buzz in the pro wrestling world after being drafted to Raw. Bobby Lashley has some useful advice for the Olympic gold medallist.

The former WWE champion recently spoke to Planeta Wrestling. He discussed things such as the upcoming Survivor Series PPV, WWE’s Spain tour, and more.

Speaking of Steveson’s career so far, Lashley said that he has shattered everything. The All-Mighty then also revealed that the amateur wrestling star called him for advice recently and detailed what he told him:

“I told that kid because he called me a little while back and he asked me for some advice, and I was like, ‘Keep your head on, don’t get into any trouble, keep training the same way you do and you’re going to be a very wealthy man.'”

You can check out Bobby Lashley’s chat with Planeta Wrestling here:

Bobby Lashley doesn’t have a match at the Survivor Series PPV as of yet. We will have to see if he gets involved in any fight at the PPV.

WWE officially drafted Gable Steveson to the Raw brand during the draft last month. Though he is expected to finish up his stint at the University of Minnesota before making a transition to WWE.

WWE Crown Jewel Updated Match Card: Bobby Lashley Vs. Goldberg Stipulation Match Announced

WWE has announced that Bobby Lashley will be taking on Goldberg in a No Holds Barred match at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view from Saudi Arabia.

These two heavyweight stars originally collided at the SummerSlam PPV in a WWE championship match in August. The All-Mighty won this match when his opponent was declared unable to compete due to a knee injury.

However, Lashley continued attacking the former WCW star afterward. He attacked Goldberg’s son Gage when he came to check on his father as well. Goldberg had vowed to take revenge over this.

This week’s Raw then saw the former Universal champion challenging Lashley for the bout. Bobby Lashley was the one who suggested the stipulation for the match.

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Updated Match Card

WWE announced a few other matches for the Crown Jewel PPV alongside Lashley vs. Goldberg during the night. You can check out the updated card for the show below:

  • Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns
  • WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Big E
  • Triple Threat SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch

  • No Holds Barred Match: Bobby Lashley vs. WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg

WWE Crown Jewel will take place on October 21 from the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Big E Beats Bobby Lashley In Rematch To Retain WWE Championship

As promised, Bobby Lashley got his rematch for the WWE Championship against Big E in the opening match of Monday’s episode of Raw. The match was hard-hitting and went about 10 minutes until the DQ happened as The Hurt Business reunited (Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, and Lashley) to attack Big E.. This led to Kofi Kington and Xavier Woods running out to make the save.

It was announced that the match would be restarted and take place inside of a Steel Cage. This was saved for the main event. At one point, Kingston did a dive off the side of the cage to take out The Hurt Business. Big E won with a Big Ending. Drew McIntyre came out and pointed his sword at Big E to close the show, so that’s the new direction.

Two weeks ago on Raw, Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Lashley to win the title after Lashley had retained the WWE Championship against Randy Orton. WWE gave Lashley a storyline out as he was selling a knee injury. Big E got the win after hitting the Big Ending.

WWE set up the rematch at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view after Big E pinned Lashley in a six-man tag match that saw The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) defeat Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos.

Later that night, Lashley cut a promo about Big E and dared him to defend the WWE Championship against him on this Monday’s Raw. Lashley went as far as stating that Big E was a coward for the way that he won the title. Quickly after that, Big E accepted Lashley’s challenge by stating that  Lashley better be ready this time.

WWE Championship Match To Open This Week’s Raw

The WWE champion Big E will be defending his title against Bobby Lashley in the opening match of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

The opening match of the Extreme Rules PPV saw the trio of The New Day facing the team of Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, and Omos. The New Day won this bout.

Though this wasn’t the last of E and Lashley we saw during the night. Bobby Lashley was seen again in a backstage segment after The Usos vs. Street Profits match.

The All-Mighty called Big E “chicken s***” for cashing in the Money In The Bank contract on him after his match with Randy Orton. He then challenged E for a singles match on Raw saying  “I want my title back!”

The New Day member responded to the former champion later in the night. He said that Lashley has lost his mind before claiming that he doesn’t hide behind anyone.

Big E went on to accept the former TNA star’s challenge for a match at the red branded show. Michael Cole then announced that this bout will be opening this week’s episode of Raw.

It will be interesting to see how this match plays out and if WWE provides any hint at the upcoming roster changes on the episode of Raw before the Draft.

MVP Drops Hurt Business Reunion Tease

MVP may have something planned involving a Hurt Business reunion.

Back in May 2020, MVP aligned himself with Bobby Lashley. In July of that same year, Shelton Benjamin joined MVP and Lashley to form The Hurt Business. Eventually, Cedric Alexander joined the group.

While the faction garnered praise from fans, it came to an abrupt end on the March 29, 2021 episode of Monday Night Raw. Lashley attacked both Benjamin and Alexander, kicking them out of the group.

After Lashley lost the WWE Championship to Big E this past Monday (Sept. 13), he may be in need of some backup again. MVP recently met up with Shelton Benjamin, potentially to discuss that matter.

“Discussing business with an old acquaintance…”

Cedric Alexander reacted to Lashley’s title loss with the following.

“If only you had some backup.”

Before Lashley lost the WWE Title, he discussed his initial reaction when the decision was made to split Hurt Business up. Here’s what he told Metro.

“I’m comfortable with staying in my lane. In the wrestling business, I think too many people start worrying about so many other things and then they don’t focus on their career. Ultimately, we have to make sure our career is great before trying to do anybody else’s stuff.

“There’s lots of guys on the roster that I look and I’m like, man, he looks good – he’s tough, he’s that and he’s that. Once we have that opportunity, we might open up the Hurt Business and bring some people in and help fuel their career. But it’s one of those things where I have to focus on me for a little while, and I gotta make sure I’m defending the world title.”

Do you think The Hurt Business will reunite?

Big E Cashes In Money In The Bank Contract To Win WWE Title On Raw

WWE booked Bobby Lashley defending the WWE Title on Monday’s episode of Raw against Randy Orton while also teasing that Big E would be looming to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Earlier in the day, Big E announced on Twitter that not only would he be on Raw, but planned to cash in the contract to become WWE Champion.

This title match took place in the main event of the show from Boston, MA at the TD Garden. The match was back and forth with brawling on the outside of the ring. Down the stretch, they did some near falls. Orton hit an RKO to MVP on the floor. Lashley beat Orton with a spear. Post-match, Lashley attacked Riddle then put Orton through a table. Lashley was selling his left knee as if he had injured it.

This led to Big E coming out to cash in and did. After a commercial break and with 5 minutes left, the match started. Big E went after the knee of Lashley, who did get a near fall with a spear. Big E hit the Big Ending for the win.

This was a change of original plans as WWE had already confirmed Orton vs. Lashley in a WWE Title match taking place at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event.

It’s been reported that the reason why WWE loaded up this show and moved Orton vs. Lashley from Extreme Rules to Raw was due to Vince McMahon responding to last week’s AEW Dynamite beating Raw in the key 18-49 demo for the first time ever.

WWE previously advertised Lashley and MVP getting a Raw Tag Team Title shot against Orton and Matt Riddle, but that was nixed. Also, WWE went up against Monday Night Football for the first time this season and the NFL is a ratings monster.

Reason Why The WWE Championship Match Was Moved To Raw

Moving the WWE championship match between Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton to Raw was apparently WWE officials’ response to AEW’s recent success.

Dave Meltzer talked about this change on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He explained how the big title match was moved to weekly television from the PPV event because WWE lost to AEW in 18-49 demo:

“They pulled the match because they lost in the ratings and they’re putting Randy Orton and Bobby Lashley, the pay-per-view main event on TV tomorrow night. Yea, that’s among the responses [to AEW]. I’m not surprised.”

Meltzer also mentioned how the original plans were for RK-Bro to defend the Raw tag team championship against Bobby Lashley and MVP. They spent last week’s episode of Raw building this match only for it to be changed.

Lashley and MVP had won a tag team turmoil match on Raw to earn the right to face the current Raw tag team champions this Monday. Randy Orton had been announced to challenge the All-Mighty for WWE championship at Extreme Rules.

While the latest episode of Monday Night Raw still garnered more viewers than Dynamite overall, AEW’s show was able to beat WWE’s red brand in the 18-49 demographic for the first time.

Reports suggested that the WWE officials held meetings after Dynamite’s victory over Raw. Now it has been confirmed that the title match was shifted from the PPV as a result of the TV ratings.

Bobby Lashley vs. Randy Orton For WWE Title Announced For Raw

WWE has seemingly made a change of plans for the top prize on the Raw brand as a commercial aired during SmackDown noting that Bobby Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton on Monday’s Raw.

It should be noted that WWE had already announced Orton challenging Lashley for the title at Extreme Rules.

RK-Bro (Orton & Matt Riddle) were originally scheduled to defend their Raw Tag Team Titles against Lashley & MVP on Monday’s Raw, but WWE’s website has taken down their article for that Tag Team match so it looks like that has been nixed.

This past Monday night, Lashley and MVP won a Tag Team Turmoil match on Raw to become the number one contenders to Orton & Riddle’s titles. Lashley and MVP and AJ Styles & Omos were the final two teams in the match. After the bout, Orton hit Lashley with an RKO, which was the second straight week that had happened as Orton previously did it following RK-Bro retaining their titles against Lashley and MVP in the main event of Raw.

WWE holds this Monday’s Raw at the TD Garden in Boston. Also announced for the show is Doupdrop likely wrestling Eva Marie after Doupdrop issued the match challenge.

Bobby Lashley Says He Stayed In His Lane After Hurt Business Split

Bobby Lashley has spoken out on whether or not he was vocal about WWE’s decision to split The Hurt Business.

Lashley aligned himself with MVP and soon, the two linked with Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander to form The Hurt Business. While the team had success, capturing gold and gaining some steam, the group abruptly broke up when Lashley attacked Benjamin and Alexander. Lashley remains with MVP on television, while Benjamin and Alexander have mainly been reduced to WWE Main Event.

During an interview with Metro, Lashley said he chose to stay in his lane once the decision was made.

Bobby Lashley went on to praise Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander for their in-ring talent. He said he felt The Hurt Business gave fans an opportunity to see just how good Cedric is and gave others a refresher on the ability that Benjamin possesses.

Do you think The Hurt Business broke up too soon?

Bobby Lashley Defeats Goldberg At WWE SummerSlam

WWE didn’t give the fans Brock Lesnar, but they did bring back Goldberg to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title in one of the top matches at SummerSlam.

The match, which took place in the co-main event of the show that was held from Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium on Peacock, was short as expected. Goldberg sold his knee throughout the match and that played a factor in the finish. In the end, Goldberg couldn’t stand so the referee called for the bell. After the match, Lashley hit Goldberg with a chair. Goldberg’s son tried to make the save, but he got put into the full nelson.

Goldberg made his return on the July 19th episode of WWE Raw to tell Lashley that he was next. While Lashley was ready to go, MVP wasn’t ready to give in just yet. That later changed and the match was booked.

Many fans thought Lesnar would be the right person to face Lashley at this show, but it’s been reported that WWE wanted to save Lesnar’s return for a WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns.

Bobby Lashley On Gable Steveson Teasing WWE Run

Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson has been creating buzz by teasing a WWE run. However, the current WWE champion Bobby Lashley believes that Steveson should hold off on the idea until he has retired.

The All-Mighty was asked about Steveson during a recent interview with TVinsider. Replying to it, he said that the amateur wrestling star is doing the right thing by getting his name out there:

“When I met him, he seemed like a really humble kid. I wish I had his potential at such a young age. That kid is going to make so much money in his life because he has so many years ahead of him.

He is tagging Dana White on social media. He tagging Vince McMahon, Jon Jones. That is what he should be doing. He should be getting his name out there.”

‘Wait Untill I Am Retired’

Bobby Lashley then discussed the prospect of Gable Steveson coming to WWE. He explained that while Gable will do very well in WWE, he should wait until Lashley has retired because that’s when he will have an opportunity:

“I think if he comes to WWE, he would do really well. He is a big kid and very athletic and charismatic. I think he should wait a little bit. He is 21. Wait until I retire at least. When I’m gone, he’ll have an opportunity to possibly win another world title.”

Gable Steveson has confirmed that he will be at the SummerSlam PPV where Bobby Lashley will be defending his WWE Championship against Goldberg.

Bobby Lashley On If The Recent Releases Indicate The Downfall Of WWE

The recent string of WWE releases combined with the low TV ratings over the last few months have made many wonder if we are witnessing the downfall of the company but Bobby Lashley believes it’s not the case.

The WWE champion recently had an interview with TVinsider. He talked about things such as his feud with Kofi Kingston, his desire to face Brock Lesnar, and more.

Lashley was also asked about the backstage atmosphere in WWE in light of the recent releases. Replying to it, Bobby said that the feeling is good before claiming that they are never going to be beaten:

“I think the feeling is good. We get tested with so many things. Everyone will say, “This is it. This is the downfall of WWE.” It’s never going to be. We have so much talent in WWE.

WWE is never going to be beaten or contested. It’s always going to be the flagship of professional wrestling. That’s never going to change.”
– Bobby Lashley

The current champion went on to talk about his own release from the company in February 2008. He mentioned how he never burned any bridges and kept grinding.

Bobby Lashley will be defending his WWE championship against Goldberg at the SummerSlam PPV this Saturday. You can check out the updated card for the event at this link.

Bobby Lashley Gives Advice To Released WWE Superstars

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley recently spoke to Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda. The ‘All-Mighty’ Champion discussed several topics during the interview, including what advice he has for the recently released WWE and NXT Superstars.

“Stay motivated” Bobby Lashley began, revealing what advice he has for the dozens of performers who have been released from their WWE contracts over the past few weeks and months.

“There were guys that contacted me in WWE while I was out and they asked, ‘What’s going on? Do you have any advice?’ I always told them, ‘If you’re good, your talent can’t be denied'” Lashley continued.

Bobby Lashley Gives Advice

“That’s one. Two; never burn bridges. A lot of times, people leave the wrestling business or leave one organization and feel the need to badmouth them, I think that’s ridiculous. Every one of us made our name from WWE or pro wrestling and made a lot of money” the WWE Champion added.

“I look at it on a nightly basis when I tuck my kids in and the ability to put a roof over their head and give them things that I didn’t have. The money that I made from wrestling, I’ll always have respect for wrestling. Fans need to understand that if you see someone fighting one organization or the other, don’t even pay attention to them.”

BOBBY LASHLEY

“As a fan, walk away from it” Lashley pleaded to fans. “They [the fans] don’t understand what the wrestling business is about. Everyone needs to eat and feed their kids.”

“Everyone wants to have a good show. Instead of putting someone else down; just look at your own field and promote what you have instead of hating what you don’t like. If you leave, leave with motivation and keep doors open for yourself” Bobby Lashley would conclude.

Lashley is set to defend his WWE Championship against Goldberg at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam 2021 PPV event on Saturday August 21st.

Goldberg Talks Return and Bobby Lashley Match at WWE SummerSlam

WWE Superstar and WCW Legend Goldberg recently spoke to WWE India. The former Universal Champion discussed several topics during the interview, including his WWE SummerSlam 2021 match against Bobby Lashley.

“I don’t come back and choose the people I’m going to go after” Goldberg began, alluding to the complaints from fans about his return and instant title shot. “If I could have come back and chosen one person to go after, it would have been Bobby Lashley.”

“There is a way you should represent the championship title and I don’t believe he’s been doing it properly” the former WCW Champion added. “He’s very callous. In this match, my name should not be Goldberg, it should be karma. He deserves a lot of things coming to him and I will hopefully be the guy who delivers that.”

Goldberg on Bobby Lashley

Goldberg has been on the losing end of his last big WWE matches, which include the Royal Rumble contest against Drew McIntyre and his WrestleMania 37 contest against former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman.

“My last outings have fallen short of a number of reasons” Goldberg explained. “I plan to change the outcome of this one and have it not be a resurgence of me coming back for one night, doing my thing, and walking off into the sunset, riding off into the sunset.”

“I put a lot of time and effort into the preparation they gave me, about double the time they usually do to prepare for a match. I’m excited. Bobby Lashley poses a very big threat. There are few people who can match up to him physically and mentally. I still think I’m one of them.”

GOLDBERG

Here is the currently confirmed card for the upcoming PPV event:

  • WWE Universal Championship Match – Roman Reigns (c) vs John Cena

Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam

WWE had teased it happening and so it did, the confirmation of Goldberg challenging Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title at SummerSlam was made official during Monday’s episode of Raw.

It happened after the opening segment where Goldberg sent a warning to Lashley. MVP had started talking trash to Goldberg’s son at ringside and the WWE Hall of Famer speared MVP. Later in the show, Lashley accepted the challenge and told Goldberg to bring his son so he could watch his father get annihilated.

Back on the July 19th episode of Raw, Goldberg confronted Lashley, who had just beaten Keith Lee in a singles match. Goldberg came out to a mixed reaction and told Lashley that he was next. Lashley wanted to fight right then, but MVP held him back. MVP later stated that the disrespect from Goldberg wouldn’t dignify a response from them.

There had been speculation that Lashley could end up defending the WWE Title against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, but Lesnar has yet to come to terms with WWE regarding a return.

WWE holds the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday, August 21 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium which will air on Peacock. This is the top match on the card from Raw.

Bobby Lashley Retains WWE Title In Dominant Fashion At Money In The Bank

Kofi Kingston put up a solid fight when he challenged Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title at the Money in the Bank event, but ultimately fell short in his pursuit to become champion again.

The match saw Kingston mount a brief offense, but Lashley began to beat him down. He tossed him into the ring post then landed various strikes and finished it off with four dominators then a full nelson until Kofi tapped out.

The company announced this match on the June 21st episode of Raw Kingston and Xavier Woods interrupted Lashley and MVP in the opening segment. This episode also saw Lashley beating Woods in a non-title Hell in a Cell match in the main event.

In May, Kingston picked up a one-on-one win against Lashley on Raw when Drew McIntyre hit Lashley with MVP’s cane leading into the finish of that match. Kingston had the chance to become the number one contender at the time, but lost to Drew McIntyre, who later lost to Lashley at Hell in a Cell.

This ended the program between McIntyre and Lashley. Kingston knows what it’s like to be WWE Champion as he previously held it from April 2019 to October 2019.

As of late, MVP kept telling Kingston in storyline that KofiMania ended because Kingston let it. MVP also said Kingston is wasting his career as a tag team wrestler with people who don’t measure up.

Bobby Lashley Retains WWE Title In Trilogy Match With Drew McIntyre At Hell In A Cell

The trilogy match between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre with the WWE Title on the line took place at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.

The match saw them use various weapons such as the cell, steel steps, kendo sticks, tables, and a cane. At one point, McIntyre hit a powerslam to Lashley on the steps. Lashley used the steps several times to smash McIntyre into the cell. Lashley tossed McIntyre into the referee and this led to McIntyre hitting a DDT.

Another referee came out as McIntyre hit the Claymore Kick, but in the pin attempt, MVP pulled out the referee. MVP distracted McIntyre and Lashley rolled him up for the win. As a result, McIntyre can’t challenge for the WWE Title again as long as Lashley is champion.

McIntyre earned his third match with Lashley on the May 31st edition of WWE Raw when he defeated Kofi Kingston in a number one contender’s match in the main event. McIntyre went over with his finisher, Claymore Kick, as Kingston was coming off the top rope.

That match had a stipulation where Lashley would have been suspended without pay for 90 days if he or MVP interfered or even came out to ringside during the match.

Lashley became the champion when he won it from The Miz back in March. Their first match came back at WrestleMania 37 where Lashley defeated McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship. One month later at WrestleMania Backlash, Lashley retained by defeating Braun Strowman and McIntyre in a triple threat match. WWE kept McIntyre strong as Lashley pinned Strowman to get the win.

Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre Booked For WWE Hell In A Cell

The trilogy bout between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre is now official for the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.

On last Monday’s episode of Raw, the opening segment saw McIntyre interrupt Lashley’s promo where he addressed losing to Kofi Kingston last week thanks to a distraction from McIntyre.

This segment eventually led to McIntyre talking about how he wants another shot at Lashley to reclaim the WWE Title. Kingston made his way out and talked about why he should get it instead while bringing up his win over Lashley.

WWE authority figure Adam Pearce came out to booked McIntrye vs. Kingston in the first match of the night with the winner getting Lashley with the WWE Title on the line at Hell in a Cell.

The match ended in a no contest finish when Lashley got involved. McIntyre cleared the ring. Thus, they booked a rematch between Kingston and McIntyre one week later.

McIntyre ended up winning the bout with the Claymore Kick and will now face Lashley for the third time. Lashley successfully retained the WWE Title over McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 and at WrestleMania Backlash.

WWE presents the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center that will air on Peacock.

Bobby Lashley Retains WWE Title At WrestleMania Backlash

Bobby Lashley walked into Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event as WWE Champion and walked out as champion.

He worked a triple threat match against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman at the show. The match was a brawl. At one point, McIntyre sent Lashley through part of the stage. McIntyre hit a Michinoku Driver to Strowman at one point. Lashley pinned Strowman with a spear.

Lashley has been WWE Champion since winning the title from The Miz in March and retained the title against McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 night one.

Originally, WWE had announced it as Lashley vs. McIntyre, but Strowman was added to the match after defeating McIntyre on an episode of Raw. Strowman and McIntyre had been interacting on TV as of late before this change was made.

Strowman beat Mace and T-Bar in a handicap match only for it to be turned back into the originally advertised tag team match that saw Mace and T-Bar go over via count out. When that happened, Strowman requested the singles match with McIntyre.

Lashley, MVP, T-Bar, and Mace all got involved in McIntyre and Strowman’s match because WWE kept reminding fans that Lashley’s chances go down to be success if he has two opponents instead of one.

What are your thoughts on Lashley retaining the WWE Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Bobby Lashley Retains WWE Title At WrestleMania 37

The big clash between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley not only was memorable but will go down as the opening of the first night of the WrestleMania 37 pay-per-view event.

The match, which was delayed due to weather, had a slow build throughout it. After missing a spear and running into the ring post, McIntyre worked over the left arm of Lashley throughout the match.

At one point, McIntyre hit an outside dive to take out MVP and Lashley. The finish saw Lashley put him in the Hurt Lock and McIntyre passed out.

Lashley became the WWE Title a few months ago during an episode of Raw by defeating The Miz in a lumberjack match. WWE did a storyline where Lashley got the title shot as part of a deal he made with The Miz as he helped  Miz win the WWE Championship when he attacked McIntyre at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view after McIntyre retained the WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match. The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the WWE Championship.

Just one year ago at the WWE Performance Center with no fans in attendance, McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of night two of WrestleMania 36 to win the WWE Title.

Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud or goes into a different direction heading into the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event next month, which has yet to be announced.

Drew McIntyre Talks Being In The Opening Match at WrestleMania 37

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has commented on the news that he versus Bobby Lashley will be opening the first night of WrestleMania 37 this year.

For a long time, McIntyre has said how he wanted to be the first person to appear in front of a live in-attendance audience when WWE were able to do so.

WWE Hall of Famer and one of the biggest names in company history Stone Cold Steve Austin recently hyped up the WWE Championship match between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre.

Lashley vs McInytre will be opening WrestleMania 37 Night 1, with the Scottish Superstar looking to regain the gold he lost back at Fastlane, due mainly to Bobby Lashley.

“Just as far as a matchup goes, Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre could be an instant classic,” Austin recently said to WrestlingINC’s Nick Hausman. “Drew McIntyre has been amazing as champion. Bobby Lashley, man, I was watching his work a couple of months ago, and him as a champion as well, he’s doing his best work right now.”

Steve Austin on Lashley vs McIntyre

“His intensity is off the charts” Austin continued. “And he’s been around for such a long time and he’s always done good work, but now, it’s at another level. So that could be a very exciting match between two really big strong guys.”

“Both guys are body guys” Steve Austin added. “But both guys are workers as well, and you don’t always have that. So you got these two tremendous physiques that are also badass workers. So that could be a killer match.”
