Bobby Lashley Thinks Conor McGregor Is Too Small To Be WWE Champion

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley gave his take about the possibility of former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor competing in the squared circle under the WWE banner.

In recent weeks, McGregor has been teasing going to the company with many people thinking it was a negotiation tactic on his part for his next fight in the UFC.

Although McGregor has been hinting at getting into the ring, there are some fans who don’t think this is a real possibility. For Lashley, he’s on board with the idea and thinks it would be great for the attention that WWE would get. He elaborated on his belief during an interview with Sky Sports.

“I think he wants to [join the WWE], he’s been talking a lot,” Lashley said. “Conor is one of those guys that will shoot first and then shake hands later. He did it last year when he tried to call out the wrestlers. I think he’ll have a good opportunity to come over here and shake things up, run his mouth a little bit and bring some notoriety. I’d like to see him in. It would be cool.”

Lashley continued by stating that he doesn’t think WWE would make him a champion due to his size.

“I think he wants to be here,” Lashley continued. “If he wants to be here he might have to try and find a role. We’re not going to put a big title on him, he’s way too small.”

Finn Balor’s Demon Will Return At WrestleMania

Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW finally confirmed what we’ve seen hints of for weeks: The Demon King returns at WrestleMania 35.

For weeks there have been hints, teases, and (somewhat) subtle references to Finn Balor’s alter ego returning. Whether it was through posters and adverts for the event itself or backstage promos, all signs pointed towards the return.

During RAW, Bobby Lashley, accompanied by Lio Rush, spoke with Charly Caruso. He explained that he’s been fighting for a long time. Because of this experience, he sees no difference between Finn Balor and The Demon:

“If you think I’m scared of some little Irish fairy tale, you’re out of your mind. Finn Balor is the Demon, and the Demon is Finn Balor. I whoop and dominate Finn Balor every single time.”

He would then be interrupted by Finn, who cautioned Lashley. He shared that he’s “always been a guy who’s had demons” before promising that at WrestleMania, “My Demon will become your nightmare.”

WWE has uploaded the clip, suggesting that “There’s a chance @fightbobby may need to be a little concerned heading into #WrestleMania because a DEMON is coming for his #ICTitle! #Raw @itsLioRush @FinnBalor”

The two will compete for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 35, which takes place this Sunday on April 7th.

Another Hint Finn Balor’s Demon Will Return At WrestleMania

In a short video uploaded after this week’s Monday Night RAW, another hint was dropped regarding who might be showing up at WrestleMania 35 to face Bobby Lashley: Finn Balor or The Demon.

This week’s episode of RAW saw Finn Balor defeat both Lashley and Jinder Mahal in a handicap matchup. This victory would secure an opportunity at Lashley’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Bobby Lashley’s manager, Lio Rush, uploaded a short clip to his Twitter account. The video features the two having a clash of words backstage. Lashley, angry over Finn’s win and new number one contender position, would lash out at Rush’s choice of partner for him that night.

Lio Rush would respond, saying: “Don’t do this right now, do not do this right now, you need to focus. You’ve got Finn at WrestleMania, that’s it. That’s the match. You versus Finn at WrestleMania. We’ve still got a couple of weeks until then, so the real question is: what do we do now? What do we do now, because the match is already set in stone.”

Lashley’s reply was to the point:

“I’m gonna beat the demon out of him.”

Demon Balor

Earlier this month, WWE released a WrestleMania advertisement that actually featured Finn Balor in his demon attire. This would prompt fans to anticipate The Demon’s return at WrestleMania 35. This video from Rush just adds to the speculation that The Demon may return on April 7th.

Bobby Lashley Wins WWE Intercontinental Title

Bobby Lashley has regained the WWE Intercontinental Title once again.

The title change occurred on Monday’s episode of RAW when Lashley beat Finn Balor after Lio Rush caused a distraction by ringing the ring bell several times that allowed Lashley to connect with a devastating spear on Balor to pick up the win and capture the title.

Lashley first reign happened when captured the gold when he beat Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match back on the January 14th episode of RAW, which he added to his collection of titles he’s earned under the WWE banner that includes the ECW and United States Titles.

The Monday Night RAW star won the prestigious secondary title on the red brand when he beat Lashley back at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in Houston, Texas in February.

It appears that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will continue this feud going and allowing Balor to have a rematch for his title at the next pay-per-view event for the WWE, WrestleMania 35. This show goes down on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium

What are your thoughts on Lashley winning the title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Finn Balor Vs Bobby Lashley – IC Title Match Booked For RAW

Finn Balor will look to defend his Intercontinental championship tonight on RAW against Bobby Lashley. Balor won the title initially at the Elimination Chamber PPV on Feb. 17th. He later defended the title successfully against Lio Rush 2 weeks ago on RAW.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw takes place in the PPG Paints Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley – Intercontinental Championship

Bobby Lashley won the Intercontinental championship for the 1st time earlier this year. He defeated Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match on the January 14th episode of RAW to win the title. He lost it just 34 days later at the Elimination Chamber PPV without having defended it successfully once. Lashley only lost the title in a 2-on-1 handicap match when his partner, Lio Rush, was pinned by Balor, however.

“Last week on Raw, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley & Baron Corbin overcame Intercontinental Champion Finn Bálor, Braun Strowman & Kurt Angle in a frenetic Six-Man Tag Team Match,” a WWE press release for the match reads.

“Now, 24 hours after he and his cohorts battled The Shield, Bobby Lashley has an Intercontinental Championship Match against Finn Bálor. Who will walk out of Raw with the workhorse title on the turbulent Road to WrestleMania?”

Backstage News On Lio Rush’s Reputation

At WWE’s Elimination Chamber event this past Sunday, Finn Balor would become crowned the new Intercontinental Champion. He emerged victorious despite wrestling a handicap match against former champion, Bobby Lashley, and Lio Rush.

Balor would pick up the win after getting the better of Lio Rush. This would then lead Bobby Lashley to attack his partner, seemingly ending their short-lived association.

Post-Elimination Chamber, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson would shed some light on their break up:

“It appears Lio Rush is done with Bobby Lashley,” he explained. “I can tell you behind the scenes there were not a lot of people surprised at that and not a lot of people surprised that Lio took the pin. There are times Lio has a reputation for rubbing people, including other workers, the wrong way. Whether that was being held against him and that was part of the reasoning for him losing or whether it was just a decision to protect Lashley and shift the belt to Finn Balor, I guess we’ll have to see based on how Lio is presented in the weeks and months to come.”

For those that missed this week’s Monday Night RAW, Lio Rush appeared on the show re-teaming with Bobby Lashley. This gave off the confusing impression that nothing had happened between them just the night before.

Finn Balor Taunts Bobby Lashley, WWE Polls Fans Over WrestleMania Headliner

Finn Balor Taunts Bobby Lashley

Former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor is now going after different gold after his failed attempt to conquer Brock Lesnar to win the title. Now, the star of the red brand is slated to challenge WWE Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley for the strap on Monday’s episode of RAW in Portland, OR.

Balor decided to have some fun at the expense of Lashley and his “hype man,” Lio Rush, through the power of social media as he has shared some photoshopped pictures that poke fun at the two stars. First up is from the movie The Heat where Lashley’s head on top of Sandra Bullock’s body while Lio Rush’s head on top of Melissa McCarthy’s body. The second photo is from Kevin Hart and The Rock’s film with “Lack of Intelligence.”

The staff who are in charge of WWE’s official website pay attention to social media and have heard the fans voice their opinions when it comes to which match they think should headline this year’s WrestleMania 35 event. As of this writing, WWE has only confirmed two matches taking place at the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar defending the title against Seth Rollins and WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey defending against Becky Lynch.

WWE.com released a poll asking fans which match that they would like to see headline the show that takes place on n Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. Lynch vs. Rousey is currently in the lead with over 82%.

Bobby Lashley Wins WWE Intercontinental Title

There was a big title change on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Memphis, TN at the FedExForum when Bobby Lashley won the WWE Intercontinental Title.

Lashley captured the gold when he beat Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match. The finish saw Rollins going for The Stomp when Lio Rush pulled down the top rope and Rollins went flying to the floor.

This allowed Lashley to connect with the spear to Ambrose to get the pinfall victory. Ambrose held the title since last month when he beat Rollins for it at the TLC pay-per-view event. As of this writing, WWE has yet to reveal when Ambrose will get his rematch against Lashley for the title.

This marks the first time that Lashley has held the title, which now he can add to his collection of titles he’s earned under the WWE banner that includes the ECW and United States Titles.

Lashley, Ambrose, and Rollins will meet again as they’ll compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match alongside R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Mustafa Ali, John Cena, Andrade “Cien” Almas, Apollo Crews, Elias, Baron Corbin, Jinder Mahal, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, and Jeff Hardy.

Bobby Lashley Targets WrestleMania 35 Match With Brock Lesnar

Bobby Lashley has his sights set on facing WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at the biggest event of the year for the company, WrestleMania 35. This has been a match that he has wanted for years as he’s been talking about it in various interviews due to their backgrounds as pro wrestlers and MMA fighters.

Lashley is preparing to compete in the men’s Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field. He took to his official Twitter account where he made it clear that he plans to win this match in order to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 with the title being on the line.

Lashley wrote the following: “You’re damn right I’m entering! 20 days til I win the #RoyalRumble 90 days til I defeat @BrockLesnar and become #UniversalChampion at #WrestleMania. What do you say, champ? @HeymanHustle”

It should be noted that not only does Lashley have to win this match but Lesnar also has to get past his next challenge in order for this match to take place. Braun Strowman is slated to challenge Lesnar for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. Time will tell whether this match between Lashley and Lesnar ever happens.

Now the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that Lashley has actually been dealing with a separated shoulder but still trying to work through the pain.

NXT Tag Team To Challenge For Indie Title?

EVOLVE Tag Team Champions Chris Dickinson & Jaka recently posted a video where they issued an open challenge to any tag team in the world to come and challenge them for their title at Sunday’s EVOLVE 114 event in Ybor City, Florida.

Interestingly, Angelo Dawkins who is one-half of the NXT Tag Team Street Profits made the following tweet indicating that they may appear at the show to answer this challenge:

It’s well known that WWE and EVOLVE have a working relationship. Many NXT stars have previously made appearances for the promotion. So it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the duo actually shows up at the upcoming event.

Top Raw Star Working Hurt, Undertaker ‘Rise Of The Taker’ Tour Announced

Top Raw Star Working Hurt

We noted before how Alexa Bliss suffered another injury this past Saturday and latest report reveals that she is not the only Raw Star that has been hurt.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer talked about Finn Balor picking up a surprising victory over Bobby Lashley on this week’s Raw, revealing that Lashley has actually been working hurt.

Though Meltzer couldn’t provide any further details on his condition. So it’s hard to say how severe Lashley’s injury is. Whether his sudden loss is related to his status is not known either but we’ll keep you posted.

Undertaker ‘Rise Of The Taker’ Tour Announced

Undertaker has been protecting his character less and less in recent times. As we noted before, it wasn’t long ago when he allowed a photo of his rehabilitation to be posted online, on top of his recent off character interview.

The latest in this spree is a new tour featuring the Dead Man which has been announced to take place on three dates next year, in the spring of 2019.

Inside The Ropes recently announced a “Rise Of The Taker” tour for next year. It will see the former World Champion making appearances in London on April 30, in Glasgow on May 1 and in Manchester on May 2:

Tickets for this event will go on sale from October 31.

Details On WWE Turning Bobby Lashley Heel

Some details regarding WWE’s decision to turn Bobby Lashley heel has surfaced.  Lashley (with Lio Rush at ringside) defeated Kevin Owens in a singles match on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in Rosemont, IL at the Allstate Arena on the USA Network. After the match, Lashley attacked Owens, an out-of-character tactic by the big man.

The attack came just days after Lashley teamed with John Cena to defeat Owens and Elias at Super Show-Down

The heel turn for Lashley was made only hours before RAW went live, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It was noted that WWE officials had a long discussion about if Lashley would be better served as a heel or babyface at this time on television. In the end, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon decided it was best to turn him heel due to WWE needing more heels right now.

As noted earlier this week, WWE has announced Owens will be out indefinitely due to a knee injury that will require surgery.

Some fans noticed that Lio Rush wearing an ear piece on Raw. This was allegedly so Vince McMahon could feed him lines for the segment.

Lashley is not currently booked for the upcoming Crown Jewel event from Saudi Arabia, but could end up in the WWE World Cup tournament.

Lio Rush Recalls A Bully Trying To Light Him On Fire

Bobby Lashley’s new hype man, Lio Rush, had to deal with bullies when he was younger. The Man of the Hour released a video on Twitter today which features Rush talking about an encounter he had with a bully when he was younger.

“True Story: When i was a young boy, a bully tried to light the #ManOfTheHour on fire. Fast Fwd to present day. Now I’m hot like a fire
! #LioHatesBullies”

“That guy tried to light me on fire,” Rush said. “I was 12 years old, 7th grade, middle school, I remember it. He tried to light me on fire, I stopped him from lighting me on fire. But you know what happened? You know what happened about 15-16 years later? Now the Man of the Hour is on fire! I’m hot like a fire right now!”

Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley On Monday Night Raw

Rush’s “main man” Bobby Lashley was victorious last night on Raw. He defeated Kevin Owens in single’s action. Owens would need help to the back and was later placed on the injured list. He is expected to undergo minor knee surgery and be out indefinitely.

Rush was shown in the back later with Lashley interrupting a promo by Bayley and Finn Balor.

Bobby Lashley Talks Turning Heel To Feud With WWE Champion

Bobby Lashley returned ‘home’ to WWE in 2018 and his career appears to have come full circle. Lashley was originally a member of the roster from 2004-2008 and held the ECW Championship in that time. Since then the Superstar has appeared for TNA/IMPACT and delved into the world of MMA.

Bobby Lashley recently appeared on The Big J Show and talked his decision to move away from WWE. Lashley also discussed the reasons why he returned to the company. “I wanted to work with some of the people that I probably would have never had the opportunity to work with before”.

When discussing his MMA career, Lashley said, “The MMA part was to show people that I can do it, a lot of people look at me as such a nice guy, they don’t understand how dangerous I can actually be.” He has a pretty impressive MMA record of 15 wins and 2 losses.

Lashley also expressed his desire to feud with WWE Champion AJ Styles. The two were both working for Impact Wrestling at the same time a few years ago, but never crossed paths there.  “He was going out while I was coming in and he was involved with these other things.”

He continued, “The thing with AJ is a crazed good guy needs a crazed bad guy. When I flip that switch and you see that bad side of me like I had in TNA, I believe I’m a perfect person to AJ’s good.”

Lio Rush & Bobby Lashley Have Something Planned For Raw Tonight

Bobby Lashley’s new manager/cruiserweight competitor, Lio Rush, has a plan for tonight’s Raw. He’s also concerned that Lashley’s kids play too much Fortnite but that’s another story. The 23-year-old piece of gold recently posted a conversation he had with his new client to Twitter.

Tonight’s Raw is in Dallas, where Rush and Lashley planned to meet. While they didn’t go into specifics of what they might do tonight, it’s clear they plan on making some kind of impact on the show.

“You know what needs to happen?” Rush said to Lashley after asking how his kids are. “They need to put down that Fornite, it’s messing up all the kids’ brains.”

Lio Rush on 205 Live

Lio Rush and Drake Maverick recently have been used as managers on Monday Night Raw. The belief backstage is that introducing more managers or “Hype men” could help talent who aren’t strong talkers.

Being Lashley’s manager hasn’t changed Rush’s status on 205 Live now. This week, the purple brand’s show will air Wednesday night instead of Tuesday after Smackdown. There still has been no official word, however, on when the show will tape, where it will tape, and/or if the name of the show will change now that it is not scheduled to air live.

Reason For Chant During SummerSlam Main Event, Lashley Congratulates Reigns

Reason For Chant During SummerSlam Main Event

Last night’s main event of SummerSlam crowned a new Universal Champion. Roman Reigns finally defeated Brock Lesnar to win the World Title. During the match, however, fans began chanting something rather interesting.

A chant of “a**hole” broke out while Lesnar was taking Reigns to Suplex City. It turns out, a SummerSlam security guard confiscated a beach ball that was brought out by some fans. WWE has had several issues with beach balls in the past and have really been cracking down on them at shows.

Another notable chant that broke out during the show was “TNA” during the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

Discussion: What do you think about WWE’s issues with beach balls? Should they be banned? Let us know in the comments!

Lashley Congratulates Reigns

As mentioned, Roman Reigns won the Universal Title in the main event of SummerSlam last night. In his fourth World Title match-up against Brock Lesnar, Reigns finally got his hand raised.

Reigns’ former rival and Universal Title hopeful, Bobby Lashley, took to Twitter to congratulate Reigns. Lashley gave Reigns props for “slaying The Beast”:

“Congrats Big Dog on slaying the beast and winning that .”

Bobby Lashley Reflects On Being Mentored By Paul Heyman, His Main Roster Debut

Bobby Lashley has reflected on being mentored by Paul Heyman as well as making his debut on WWE SmackDown in 2005.

The former ECW Champion recently made an appearance on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to talk about various topics including what Heyman told him just moments before making his main roster debut.

Lashley started out the story by stating that he wasn’t supposed to debut on that episode of the blue brand as there was nothing going on for him but rather he was just one of the OVW talents who were on the road with the main roster at the time and they allowed him to work a few dark matches at house shows.

This is when he was backstage and in catering when someone came up to him to tell him that he was working a match that night. He was taken back by that news then he walked over and there was Paul Heyman.

“As crazy as this is, he came and talked to me because he mentored me back in OVW when I was in OVW, he was a writer there and he was the one that talked to me and got to know me. He just walked over to me with that smug little grin that he always has on his face and looked at me and goes, ‘You nervous?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah I’m nervous, what are you talking about? There’s 17,000 people here! I just started wrestling!’

Lashley continued the story by stating that Heyman told him that the only thing that messes you up is this whole anticipation act. He noted that Heyman told him once they call his name, then he will have to go out and will do great. Heyman reassured that he is going to be excited then once coming back from the ring, he would think about ‘man why did I kill myself before?’ Lashley added that if you can handle this stuff now, the rest is easy.

The WWE RAW Superstar brought up his future goals in the WWE where he stated that he wanted to be a household name and future hall of famer in wrestling as he wants to pay his dues, travel the world and have an impact on people while he wins titles and set records.

Lashley added that “I want to have the respect from some of the people that I wrestled with and say, ‘You know what, I really enjoyed wrestling with Bobby.’ I want to have the fans come and say, ‘You know what, that was awesome what he did. He left, came back 10 years later and still was on the top, still set records, and was able to get back afterwards.’”

Lashley also talked about being portrayed as a heel, his love for pro wrestling and much more. You can listen to the full episode here:

Why The WWE Universal Title Match At SummerSlam Should Be A Triple Threat

The biggest event of the summer takes place August 19th. Last Monday saw Roman Reigns take the win over Bobby Lashley to become number one contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title. This being their fourth confrontation for the title has many concerned as they’re already tired of this matchup.

With SummerSlam being weeks away, the Universal title match could still change, even for the better.

The Story Heading Into SummerSlam

It’s no secret that Lesnar plans to fight for the UFC in the nearby future (if he passes all his USADA drug test first though). With his new contract having him being paid for appearances instead of having set dates throughout the year has made Lesnar’s presence with the title meaningless.

It doesn’t help either that the WWE is trying to make Reigns the underdog against Lesnar in their series of matches in order for Reigns to get over.

Their last title confrontation was at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabi where the match ended in controversy as Reigns was the first to touch the floor with his feet, not Lesnar.

As of recent weeks, Reigns has been in the battle for number one against Bobby Lashley and the match that determined the number one contender took place last week with Lashley losing in the end. At this point, both Reigns and Lashley hold a win over each over, possibly indicating WWE is not done with their rivalry.

Lesnar vs. Lashley

The dream match many wanted to see for the longest time was Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley. Both men have a background in amateur wrestling and MMA and is the most requested matchup since Undertaker vs. Sting. While Undertaker vs. Sting may never happen, the WWE has to take the opportunity of Lesnar vs. Lashley while it is still possible.

At this point, it has been rumored that Lesnar will drop the belt to whoever he faces at SummerSlam so he can commit to his MMA training. While Roman Reigns is the desired golden boy for WWE, that doesn’t mean Lashley in some way cannot be in that title picture as well.

A Triple-Threat Solution

Triple threats have been a mainstay to shake up a matchup. From Shawn Michaels vs. Triple-H vs. Chris Benoit to Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan, a third factor has proven to shake up a tired rivalry and usually pays off. While Benoit and Bryan have won their respected matches, Lashley doesn’t necessarily have to win the title but a title win at this point seems overdue.

Bobby Lashley faced John Cena at the Great American Bash back in 2007 for the WWE Championship and lost to the leader of the Cenation as the company already picked their golden boy. Lashley right now is an amazing competitor and is way over with the fans (especially against Roman Reigns) and if he were to be inserted to the title match at SummerSlam would be desired to keep that match fresh.

If I was to book this, I would have Lashley as the third man for the title match at SummerSlam and would have him win the title by pinning Lesnar.

From there I would turn Bobby heel and have him feud with Reigns. Have them battle for the Universal title at the next PPV in where the stipulation has Reigns lose the spear if he lost against Lashley. Forcing him to find to a new finisher and beat Lashley at the next PPV after that, therefore getting him over.

Bobby Lashley On Fans Rejecting Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan’s WWE Return

WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley recently took part in a media conference call. Alex McCarthy of GiveMeSport was on the call and has provided some details on what Lashley said about a wide range of topics, including his return to WWE earlier this year, Roman Reigns and more.

Lashley was asked which WWE Superstars have impressed him the most in his latest run with the company. The former ECW champion called Roman Reigns “phenomenal” and also said guys like Elias, Braun Strowman and Finn Balor have caught his eye.

As for Reigns, in regards to the division on him amongst the WWE Universe, Bobby Lashley doesn’t really understand it. “It kills me to be out in the ring with somebody of his level and the crowd be divided as to whether or not he deserves to be in the position he is – and I don’t get it. He has the look, he’s a great athlete and he’s a great in-ring performer.”

Lashley said he thinks Apollo Crews is underrated and hopes WWE finds a meaningful role for him. “I hope they find something for Apollo because h has so much untapped potential.”

After a 10 year hiatus where he proved that he can work with virtually anyone, he is determined to capture another world championship in WWE.

He also had some very brief comments regarding Hulk Hogan being reinstated by WWE after a 3-year suspension. Lashley said simply, “If he’s in, he’s in. Nothing to do with me.”

As of this writing, Bobby Lashley does not have an opponent for next month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. He lost to Roman Reigns on Raw in a number one contender’s match to determine the next challenger to Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

Mojo Rawley Shows Off Nasty Bruise

Last night (Mon. July 23, 2018) on Monday Night RAW, Mojo Rawley defeated Tyler Breeze in singles competition. Rawley shared a nasty bruise on his leg after the match on Twitter, but said he isn’t worried about it because he’s “undeterred”:

“Undeterred. Gonna take more than just a little bruise to hold me down. I’m undefeated with this little bruise. 4 wins in a row with this little bruise. On to bigger & better things with this little bruise. I’m too focused to take a knee.”

Who Should Brock Lesnar Face At SummerSlam?

WWE has spent the better part of two decades building SummerSlam, their mid-year pa-per-view event, into a show that they deem as big (or almost as big) as WrestleMania. The same kind of glitz, glamour and excitement and big-time matches worthy of The Showcase of The Immortals.

As we move towards this year’s iteration of SummerSlam I can’t help but feel like a lot of that is being undone by the fact that we (almost) know exactly what’s scheduled for the main event: Brock Lesnar losing the Universal Title.

With Brock’s short-term WWE contract and already-announced move back to the UFC, it’s an almost inevitable but then again that is what the fans predicted at both WrestleMania AND the Greatest Royal Rumble when he faced Roman Reigns, so could we once again be ‘swerved’ at the last minute?

Whoever faces Brock at SummerSlam (if we discount any shenanigans with a Money In The Bank cash-in) is likely walking out with the Universal Title. This pretty much means the only thing of interest in this match is the who, and how of it all.

This past week on RAW, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley won separate triple-threat matches to win the right to face off this Monday to see who will face Brock for the Universal Title at SummerSlam. This presents three possible scenarios:

Lesnar Vs Lashley – WWE is sometimes like a little kid. They fixate on a certain toy or show and that’s all they want. Right now for 3-year old WWE, it’s MMA. With Brock’s appearance in a UFC Octagon, and Lashley’s MMA background, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were to try to put them in the ring and say “As long as Brock loses, just go for it!” Of course, that’s unlikely because there’s more to putting on an MMA-style shoot fight than just doing it. Plus, in the PG era I doubt it’d fly. Another possibility: Heyman turns on Brock and becomes Lashley’s advocate. Lashley really needs to do that “not talking” thing, and we could all use more Paul Heyman in our lives.

Lesnar Vs Reigns – Roman Reigns is a good wrestler. There, I said it. You know it, I know it, and maybe this is the time for him to shake off the bad booking he’s suffered through and make a full (badass) heel turn. Remember his promo the night after facing the Undertaker at Wrestlemania? It was spectacular. If finally beating Lesnar gets us that Roman full-time, it’ll all be worth it. It could really change his career trajectory, and also elevate the title, because who wouldn’t want to beat the crap out of that guy?

Lesnar Vs Lashley Vs Reigns – This is practically Wrestling 101. It would be easy for WWE to have the match between Lashley & Reigns go to a no contest through some kind of shenanigans, causing them to repeat the match the next week, which would more than likely end in similar circumstances, and they’d just declare it a Triple Threat at SummerSlam. This match would be great for Brock because he could lose the title without being pinned. It’d be terrible for the audience in that it’d be nothing but a glorified Reigns/Lashley match, which we’ve just sat through, like, a lot. This is the most likely of the scenarios, to be honest. It could give us the outcome of a 1-on-1 Reigns/Lesnar match, while protecting Brock and making Lashley…still be there? I guess?

My choice? It’s actually a fourth scenario: With the excitement around the Intercontinental Title right now, Ronda Rousey Vs Alexa Bliss and the rumoured Samoa Joe Vs AJ Styles WWE Title match potentially on the card, honestly, we don’t really need a Universal Title match. The best thing WWE could do is start the show with the Universal Title in a display case in the ring, announce that Brock has been stripped and the Title will be retired to a closet in HHH’s office. In it’s place will be a re-instated Heavyweight Championship (Hey, it’s my fantasy booking, let me have this), which Lashley and Roman will battle for in the Main Event.

The Universal Title debuted at SummerSlam, so ending it there would be fitting.

Sound off in the comments! What scenario would you like to see play out at SummerSlam with the Universal Title?

Original Plan For Extreme Rules Main Event

Last night (Sun. July 15, 2018) WWE hosted their Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After a ton of speculation as to what match was going to main event the show, it wound up being the 30-minute Ironman match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. When it was all said and done, Ziggler retained his strap in Sudden Death Overtime.

Many people assumed that Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley was going to main event the show. PWInsider reports that was actually WWE’s original plan. The last hour of the show would’ve featured AJ Styles vs. Rusev for the WWE Title as well as Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title.

Ziggler vs. Rollins was initially scheduled to open up the show instead. Of course, those plans were completely reshuffled and Ziggler vs. Rollins went on last, and put on an amazing match.
