Braun Strowman Remains Universal Champion At WWE Backlash

Braun Strowman successfully retained the WWE Universal Title in his second defense of the championship.

He did so when he beat The Miz and John Morrison in a Handicap Match at the WWE Backlash pay-per-view event on the WWE Network.

WWE gave the challengers some offense but after Strowman was able to fight them off, he hit some signature moves before closing it out with his power slam finisher for the win.

WWE set up this contest on the May 25th episode of SmackDown on FOX when the show opened with Strowman interrupting The Miz and Morrison on The Dirt Sheet.

This led to Strowman beating the Miz in a non-title match. Post-match, he was challenged by Morrison to a Handicap Match at Backlash with the title on the line, which was accepted by Strowman.

Since then, WWE had been doing comedy segments with the three stars on television with the heels failing to embarrass him.

Bobby Lashley On If He Was Going To Be Braun Strowman’s Mystery Partner At WrestleMania 34

Former Champion Bobby Lashley made his return to WWE during the April 9, 2018 episode of Monday Night Raw. It was the night after WrestleMania 34 and his comeback left a number of fans disappointed.

Braun Strowman had been teasing a mystery partner for the Show Of Shows which ended up being a 10-year-old boy Nicholas. Many believe that instead of the young fan, it would have been better to reintroduce the former ECW Champion during the PPV.

During a recent interview with TalkSport, Lashley was asked if there were any plans for him to be revealed as the mystery partner for the Monster Among Men, and the former ECW Champion replied by saying that he doesn’t know:

“I didn’t know anything to tell you the truth. At the beginning when we first negotiated and started talking, I was supposed to be coming back around WrestleMania. There was talks of before, during and after. I didn’t hear about after. I heard about doing something before to set up an angle for WrestleMania, or doing something at WrestleMania – didn’t know.

I really didn’t know anything about the Braun tagging thing.” said Bobby Lashley. “If they would have told me that, I would have been all for it. That’s an incredible opportunity. I mean to come back as the tag team champions!”

The Raw star continued by saying that the company may have discussed the possibility internally but he has no clue about it. He hasn’t heard anything about it even to this day.

Bobby Lashley set up a match with Drew McIntyre this week and he will now be challenging the WWE Champion for his title at Backlash on June 14.

Braun Strowman Retains Universal Title At WWE Money In The Bank

Braun Strowman successfully retained the WWE Universal Title in his first defense of the championship.

Strowman did so when he beat Bray Wyatt in one of the top matches at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view event on the WWE Network.

There had been speculation that Wyatt may be wrestling the match as himself instead of The Fiend. He dressed like his character that appears during the Firefly Fun House segments.

The finish of the match saw Strowman wear his old sheep mask. Wyatt said that he told him that he would find him and that this time it would be perfect. Strowman did the Wyatt pose in front of him and they hugged. However, Strowman took off the mask then stomped on it and hit his powerslam finisher for the win.

The company made the match official on the April 17th episode of SmackDown. Since that time, WWE has been airing Firefly Fun House segments on the show to further promote this contest.

In fact, there was some acknowledgment to their past as Strowman made an appearance on the Moment of Bliss segment where Wyatt gave him a gift, which was Strowman’s old sheep mask that he used to wear while a member of The Wyatt Family.

Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman Set For WWE Money In The Bank

A new match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank PPV and it features the top title on the SmackDown brand.

Bray Wyatt vs. WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman is now official for the show. WWE had Michael Cole announce the match on Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX.

There’s speculation that Wyatt may be wrestling the match as himself instead of The Fiend. As of this writing, that’s not confirmed.

If you recall, Wyatt wrestled as himself back in December when he faced The Miz at the TLC pay-per-view event. He dressed like his character that appears during the Firefly Fun House segments.

WWE presents the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event on Sunday, May 10, 2020. The event was slated to be held at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD but plans were changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Braun Strowman Talks Crazy 24 Hours Before WrestleMania 36

New WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman recently appeared on the Gorilla Position podcast. The SmackDown Superstar would discuss his title win at WrestleMania 36 earlier this month, as well as the hectic 24 hours that preceded the event.

Strowman was not initially pegged to face then Champion Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania. Roman Reigns was the challenger heading into the event, however due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic the ‘Big Dog’ would pull out of the show. This forced WWE to make a last minute change, and it was decided that Braun Strowman was the man to take the belt from Goldberg.

Driving To Wisconsin

“Oh yeah, without a doubt it was the craziest 24 hours of my life” Braun Strowman began. “There was quarantine and telling everybody to stay at home and doing everything they could to help control the spread of this virus. So I figured, you know, I have some land up in Wisconsin, I haven’t seen my family, they live out in the middle of nowhere. I’ve got 80 acres out in the middle of nowhere, it’s literally a town that’s barely incorporated. There’s 400 people in the old town so I was like, well, if I got to be locked down I’m gonna be locked down out in the middle of nowhere, being the country boy that I am.”

Vince McMahon

Strowman would then reveal how the 21 hour car journey ended with phone call from Vince McMahon. “So I loaded up my belongings in my car and drove 21 hours to Wisconsin. I got one hour away from my property and I got a phone call from the chairman of WWE, saying ‘Braun we’ve had some last minute changes, there’s a couple emergencies happening. We need you.’ And I said, ‘well, I’m in Wisconsin I just drove for 21 hours.’ He [Vince McMahon] said ‘we know, we’re sending a jet to Atlanta at 9pm, you leave at 9:15pm.’ So I made it to Wisconsin long enough to grab a quick bite at dinner and then headed to the little regional County Airport.”

Braun Strowman in a Four-Seater Jet

Strowman elaborated further, saying “I jumped on a four seater jet; which I’m terrified of flying on by the way because I barely can fit my large hairy self in there. So it was a pretty impressive, a very fast jet. It was timely to get me there. I think we got from Wisconsin back to Orlando in 1 hour 30 minutes? We were rocking and rolling. I landed, with the time change and everything? I got into Orlando like midnight-ish back to Florida? Got in bed about at one o’clock in the morning, woke up the next day and headed to the Performance Center.”

Goldberg vs Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman would finish by thanking his opponent in the WrestleMania 36 match. “I want to say a big thanks to Bill Goldberg for giving me the opportunity. To know and trust in me to want to get in there and ‘get these hands’ per se.”

Braun Strowman Reveals Aftermath Of Royal Rumble 2018 Encounter With Brock Lesnar

New WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman has reflected on his exchange with Brock Lesnar during 2018’s Royal Rumble. After delivering a knee that Lesnar considered to be too stiff, “The Beast Incarnate” would unleash a few legitimate shots to Strowman. Speaking with talkSPORT about their encounter, Strowman revealed that the two Superstars simply laughed it off backstage.

“We laughed about it afterwards,” Strowman confessed. “It is what it is. We got to the back and I said ‘Hey, my bad,’ he said the same thing and we went about our business. We’re both grown ups, we both knew what we were getting into and at the end of the day, we’re both very dominant males and neither of us wanted to give in an inch, so in the end we took an inch from each other.”

Whenever working with Lesnar, Braun Strowman shared how he adopted the mentality that he’s heading into a real fight. Referencing their Royal Rumble moment, Strowman joked how he “got a little ants in my pants.” He claimed Lesnar did too. They then threw some heavy shots at each other and then carried on.

Although Braun Strowman had reason to celebrate following this weekend’s WrestleMania 36, Lesnar did not. He lost his WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre during the main event of Night Two.

Braun Strowman Reveals When He Found Out He Was Replacing Roman Reigns At WrestleMania

A new episode of WWE’s The Bump premiered on Sunday and featured an interview with newly-crowned WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman.

Strowman was not originally supposed to challenge Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 – Night 1 on Saturday night. In fact, WWE never booked him in a match on the card.

Roman Reigns was supposed to be in the contest against Goldberg. However, Reigns announced his decision to pull out of the event due to health concerns.

Strowman stated that it was probably the craziest 24 hours of his life as he loaded up his stuff when the state of Florida went into lockdown and was going to drive up to Wisconsin where he has some land. He was also going to see his family and getaway.

“Drove 21 hours and was an hour away from home and I got a phone call. ‘There’s been some last-minute changes. We need you, it’s an emergency, we’re sending a jet to get you and you leave at 9 pm.’

He continued by noting that, “I got into Wisconsin for three hours, went back, jumped on a jet, flew back to Orlando, and landed at 1:30 in the morning. Got up, hit the ground running and low and behold, came out of the back end as the Universal Champion.”

Braun Strowman Reacts To Universal Title Win At WrestleMania 36

Braun Strowman was a last-minute addition to this year’s WrestleMania but the Monster Among Men ended up benefitting big time from this sudden change.

The former Wyatt Family member faced Goldberg for the Universal Championship at night 1 of WrestleMania 36 after Roman Reigns pulled out of the bout.

The former WCW star dominated the early parts of the bout but Strowman managed to take control of the match later on and he defeated Goldberg to win the title after delivering 4 massive power slams.

Braun Strowman Comments On WrestleMania Victory

The new Universal Champion was then interviewed backstage after his big win on the Show Of Shows and commenting on the victory, he said that this is the proof that you can achieve anything:

“This is something that so many people have told me I would never achieve.” said Braun Strowman. “So many people told me I didn’t deserve to because of what I have been through in life and things like that.

But this is proof right here that no matter what, if you work your butt off for something that you believe in and dream then you can achieve anything. Right here is the proof that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.”

Roman Reigns was removed from the Universal title match after he decided to pull out of the show and reports have revealed that the Big Dog picked Braun Strowman as the replacement himself.

Braun Strowman Wins Universal Championship at WrestleMania

Goldberg’s reign as WWE Universal Champion will not continue as despite not defending it against his original opponent in Roman Reigns but rather Braun Strowman.

“The Monster Among Men” toppled WWE Hall of Famer in less than three minutes to win the Universal Title in a top match on the WrestleMania 36 card in Orlando, Florida.

Goldberg became the champion when he won the title from Bray Wyatt, portraying The Fiend, at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was scheduled to defend the gold against Roman Reigns, but it was not meant to be. The match was made official on the February 28th episode of SmackDown. Then-champion Goldberg came out for a promo and asked Who’s Next? ‘The Big Dog’ came out to the ring and accepted the challenge.

With just days until WrestleMania 36, Reigns announced his decision to pull out of the event due to health concerns. As a leukemia survivor, his immune system is weakened and he is at greater risk if he were to contract the Coronavirus.

Brown Strowman was announced as Goldberg’s opponent on Friday’s SmackDown. The nonchalant nature of this announcement just 24 hours before te pay-per-view left fans stunned.

WWE Confirms Braun Strowman vs. Goldberg At WrestleMania 36

Heading into Friday’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, most fans knew of the changes that had to be made to title matches taking place at WrestleMania 36.

The first expected change was Roman Reigns, who was slated to challenge Universal Champion Goldberg at this event, not competing.

Since the show was taped last week, Reigns decided to pull out of the contest due to his concerns about the coronavirus as he has a weakened immune system with his leukemia battle.

WWE confirmed on SmackDown that Braun Strowman will replace Reigns in the contest to challenge the WWE Hall of Famer for the Universal Title. Despite Triple H stated that WWE would make the match change in a unique manner, WWE had Michael Cole announce the news in a quick segment.

WWE had originally announced face-off for Friday’s SmackDown with Goldberg and Reigns, where it was expected that the change would be explained. Clearly, that didn’t happen.

The other change was to the originally announced contest that would’ve seen John Morrison and The Miz defending the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against The Usos and The New Day at WrestleMania 36.

The Miz was pulled from the match due to him being ill and not able to work the show. However, WWE didn’t announce that change during the broadcast.

WWE presents the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event as a two-night event on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.

Video: Roman Reigns Explains His Decision To Not Compete At WWE WrestleMania

Braun Strowman Expected To Be Roman Reigns’ WWE WrestleMania Replacement

News broke earlier today that the former World Champion Roman Reigns has decided to pull himself from the upcoming WrestleMania event due to coronavirus concerns.

WWE was working on a replacement for the Big Dog for the PPV and on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio; Dave Meltzer provided an update on Goldberg’s potential new opponent for the Show Of Shows.

It was reported previously that the company taped some of the bigger WrestleMania matches on Wednesday and they planned to complete the tapings by Thursday before the Florida Mayor’s ‘stay at home’ mandate came into effect. Meltzer mentioned that he believes it was Braun Strowman who replaced Roman Reigns on the card and wrestled Goldberg at the tapings.

The Big Dog was present for this match and the former World Champion himself made the call for the Monster Among Man to be his replacement for the match.

It’s not confirmed how WWE is handling this situation storyline-wise and we should get a better idea about it on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

There is no confirmation about the winner of this bout either. It would be interesting to see if the officials went with their original plans and put the title on Braun Strowman, giving him his first world title reign in the company.

Sami Zayn Wins WWE Intercontinental Title At Elimination Chamber

Braun Strowman’s reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion didn’t last long as he was dethroned by Sami Zayn.

The title change happened when Strowman defended the title against Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Sami Zayn in a 3-On-1 Handicap Match.

This contest served as the co-main event spot on the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view card at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that aired on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network. Zayn pinned Strowman in the match earning him the title.

The four stars have been feuding for the past few months. Back on the January 31 episode of SmackDown, Strowman defeated Nakamura to win the Intercontinental Championship.

This marked Strowman’s first reign as the champion. It was a surprising outcome considering that Strowman won the title recently and he was a big favorite according to oddsmakers throughout the week in the betting odds.

As of this writing, there haven’t been any reports regarding the creative direction for Strowman and the Intercontinental Title for WrestleMania 36. Time will tell where WWE goes from here.

Braun Strowman Shares WrestleMania Aspirations, Elimination Chamber

Current WWE Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman has shared his WrestleMania goals during an interview with Sports Illustrated. During their conversation, Strowman also spoke about his upcoming handicap match at Elimination Chamber and the events he is partaking in during WrestleMania week.

Strowman confessed that a personal goal for him is to have a singles match on the main card of WrestleMania. He added how he sees himself in the main event on the “The Grandest Stage of Them All,” believing he has the star power and fan support to help get him there.

“Having a singles match on the main card, that’s been a personal goal of mine since I started with WWE. One day, I can see myself main-eventing WrestleMania. I feel like I have the star power and the fan base behind me that wants to see it, but I just need to find the right opponent.”

Braun Strowman At Elimination Chamber

This Sunday, Strowman will be defending his Intercontinental Championship at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event. He competes in a 3-on-1 Handicap match against Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn. Looking to his title defense, Strowman admits he has his hands full on Sunday.

“Those three are pretty tough, and when they have their game plan working together, they’re even tougher,” he said. “I need to get past them first, but hopefully I’m carrying that title out of Elimination Chamber and into WrestleMania. I’ll represent it proudly to whomever wants to step up and get these hands.”

Magic City Mania

Past Elimination Chamber is WrestleMania 36. Unsurprisingly, WWE is going all out for the event. Several events are planned over the course of the week leading up to the show itself featuring WWE Superstars. One of these is Magic City Mania, a fan event that Braun Strowman is participating in.

“There will be so many wrestling fans in Tampa for WrestleMania, and we want to sell this event out and have people hanging from the rafters,” he said on the event. “My life has been so chaotically crazy and awesome. The platform I’ve been given and the opportunities presented to me in WWE have been unbelievable, and the coolest thing I have learned as a WWE superstar is the power that we have to help people get through hard times in their life.”

Elimination Chamber takes place this Sunday from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

WWE Hall of Famer Says IC Title Win ‘Legitimises’ Braun Strowman

WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of Busted Open Radio Mark Henry recently discussed Braun Strowman and his Intercontinental Championship win. The ‘Monster Among Men’ Strowman won his first ever singles title in WWE on the 31st January episode of the blue brand on FOX.

On Braun Strowman – “I think that you don’t want to rush things”

Henry first discussed why he believed it took ‘so long’ for Strowman to win a singles title. “I think that you don’t want to rush things” Henry began. “Didn’t we always talk about how Roman Reigns was pushed ON us? Yeah, we didn’t get to choose Roman Reigns; and now people ARE choosing Roman Reigns, look how long it took for Roman Reigns to take.”

“How long is he going to keep the title. Who is he going to defend the title against?”

Henry elaborated further, saying “I’m glad that they did not rush [Braun Strowman] and just make him a champion over someone that it didn’t seem plausible. Now, for him to go over at this point, considering after all the things that he’s done. It’s going to legitimise him. And is not just winning, it is keeping the title. How long is he going to keep the title. Who is he going to defend the title against? What stories are going to be built out of the fact that Braun Strowman has the title now?”

Braun Strowman’s WWE Championship History

To this point Strowman had only won tag team Championships in his time on the WWE roster. One time with Nicolas, WWE referee John Cone’s son. Also once with current RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins. Strowman has challenged for the Universal Championship on occasion, including the ‘no-contest’ against Roman Reigns at Hell In a Cell 2018.

Who do you think that Braun Strowman will be defending the Intercontinental Championship against at WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments

Braun Strowman Wins Intercontinental Title On SmackDown

Braun Strowman has finally won his first singles title in WWE.

Strowman faced Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura on Friday night’s SmackDown with Sami Zayn and Cesaro at ringside.

Nakamura attempted to throw Strowman into the turnbuckles after the padding was taken off of them while the referee was distracted, but it backfired as Strowman stopped Nakamura and threw him into it instead. A running power slam later Strowman was able to pin the Nakamura for the win.

While Braun Strowman has held the Raw Tag Team Championships twice, he has never won a singles title before. The Monster Among Men had this a long time coming, and some might even argue that this push is a bit late for him.

After headlining many pay-per-view events, winning the Money in the Bank contract, the Greatest Royal Rumble, the unstoppable monster has finally captured gold for himself.

As for Nakamura, the IC reign with him was lacklustre so here’s hoping the same does not happen with Strowman’s. Zayn’s duo also seems to be falling apart as Nakamura is no longer champion and not a lot of things are going right for them. It may not be a huge surprise if they went their separate ways after this.

Braun Strowman On Shinsuke Nakamura, Championship Aspirations

Braun Strowman clearly has his eyes set on the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Speaking with Dallas News, Strowman spoke about competing against the current champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. He also shared what it would mean to win the championship.

“Talking about Shinsuke Nakamura, this is the first opportunity I’ve had to work with him here in his stint with WWE,” Strowman said. “I’ve been pretty impressed so far. … It’s been a different change of pace being in the ring and mixing it up with Shinsuke. And I think what the outcomes have been these past couple outings that we’ve had, I’ve without a doubt earned myself a title opportunity for that Intercontinental Championship.”

He continued, “We’re going to see what the powers that be will have [to say] — you never know, the last SmackDown leading into the Royal Rumble here coming up in Dallas, if they’ll give me that opportunity to take on Shinsuke for the title before we go into the Royal Rumble.”

Braun Strowman As Intercontinental Champion

Strowman believes that holding the title would be an “absolute honor.”

He noted how several legendary Superstars have held the title. To him, they all added prestige to the belt, and that it would be a “great fit” for him.

Many have used the championship as a means to leverage themselves into the main event picture for WWE’s top belts. For Strowman, he thinks holding the strap would be “an awesome way to get my foot in the door on carrying a singles title and showing the world where I belong.”

Braun Strowman joins 30 other men this Sunday for the Royal Rumble matchup. The event takes place at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Braun Strowman Is “Willing & Ready” For Possible Bray Wyatt Match

Braun Strowman is excited about a potential showdown against WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.

Strowman recently did an interview with DallasNews.com where he spoke about a wide range of topics including a potential match against Wyatt.

This was where he was asked about Wyatt’s transformation into The Fiend. Strowman noted how it’s been a pretty awesome process to watch Bray and what he’s been able to accomplish.

He stated that he loves Bray and The Fiend thing is getting a little out of control. Thus, he wouldn’t mind having a shot at him one of these days and seeing what can happen,

“You never know,” Strowman said of a potential match. “There’s a lot of backstory and history between us being that Bray Wyatt is pretty much the sole reason that ‘The Monster Among Men’ is what he is today, bringing him in with the Wyatt family, and him being my mentor, my sensei.

Sometimes the student has to one day show the sensei who the boss is. Whenever he’s ready to step into the squared circle with me, I’m more than willing and ready.”

Strowman was introduced to fans on the main roster when he was added to The Wyatt Family that included Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan years ago.

With the two stars being on the same brand – Friday Night SmackDown – it’s possible that their paths will cross one day.

Perhaps, it could happen sooner rather than later as Strowman will compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match when WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event this Sunday with the winner being able to challenge for the top title on their brand at WrestleMania 36.

Braun Strowman Clarifies Type Of Injury He’s Dealing With

Braun Strowman has clarified the exact injury that he’s been suffering with after mixed reports surfaced online.

“The Monster Among Men” has been sidelined with a minor injury that resulted in him missing some WWE house shows as well as two Friday Night SmackDown television shows over the last week.

While Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter was told that Strowman was dealing with back spasms, the official word going around WWE was that he had a sore hip.

It turns out that Strowman is indeed dealing with a back injury. He noted the news in a recent post on his official Instagram account, which you can see here:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B6DwMTJBmxs/?utm_source=ig_embed

Obviously, with him still dealing with the minor injury then that means he won’t be competing at the final pay-per-view event of 2019 for WWE, TLC.

Strowman was supposed to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental title at TLC.

The show takes place this Sunday night in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center on the WWE Network. It’s been reported that WWE had planned to do an angle on last week’s episode of SmackDown to set up the feud.

This program would’ve led to a match being booked at TLC.

WWE Nixed SmackDown Angle Involving Braun Strowman Over Injury

WWE had to make changes to the original script of last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown involving Braun Strowman and WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

Dave Meltzer reported during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Strowman and Nakamura were supposed to shoot an angle on the show that would’ve set up a feud and match at the TLC pay-per-view event.

However, the angle wasn’t done due to Strowman being injured.

As previously noted here on the site, Strowman is dealing with a minor injury that forced him to miss a recent WWE house show. Meltzer was told Strowman is dealing with back spasms. However, the official word is a sore hip.

The good news is Strowman is expected to be back in action soon. If Strowman is ready to go then WWE could still do the angle with Nakamura on Friday’s SmackDown in Milwaukee, WI at the Fiserv Forum, which will serve as the go-home show of SmackDown for TLC.

The current card only has seven matches announced thus far.

Tyson Fury Wants Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania, Will Be At SmackDown

Tyson Fury was a guest on Corey Graves’ new podcast “WWE After the Bell” recently. Fury defeated Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel via count-out and says the experience was a life-long dream fulfilled. According to Fury, however, there’s still more he’d like to accomplish in WWE, including wrestling Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Graves asked Fury on the show if we will see him in a WWE ring again and Fury noted he’s hoping to face Brock Lesnar next.

“Hopefully you see me in the ring again and I want to fight Brock Lesnar next. One clip from the Gypsy King and Lesnar will wake up in Tokyo,” Fury answered.

“Who knows? It might happen at WrestleMania in Florida,” Fury continued. “Big shout-outs to Vince McMahon and everyone who works at WWE.”

Fury also noted that he was surprised by how much work and travel goes into being a WWE Superstar. “I didn’t realize how much you had to work and travel but it was definitely worth it,” Fury said on the show.

Tyson Fury To Appear On Smackdown

WWE has also announced that Fury will be on Smackdown this Friday on Fox as the show airs from his hometown of Manchester.

Tyson Fury Victorious In His WWE Debut At Crown Jewel

Professional heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury beat Braun Strowman in his WWE in-ring debut.

The contest between the big men took place at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This marked the first time and perhaps the only time that fans witness Fury wrestle.

Fury won the match by count-out when he hit a big right hand to Strowman, who was on the apron. WWE did have Strowman hit him with his running powerslam after the match but Fury got right back to his feet.

WWE set up this match back on the Friday Night SmackDown premiere episode where Fury had a staredown with Strowman before jumping the barricade after a six-man tag team match

The angle happened when Strowman, The Miz & Heavy Machinery (Otis & Tucker) defeated AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

The following week on RAW, WWE had offered Fury an open microphone on the show in Bakersfield, CA at the Rabobank Arena on the USA Network. The two had a brawl on this show to further his program with Strowman.

It’s been reported that Fury is likely receiving significant money to make his WWE in-ring debut. WWE gets big money for putting on shows in Saudi Arabia and how stars receive hefty paydays.

According to reports, Mohammad bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, wanted Fury to compete at the show.

It should be noted that Fury approached WWE several years ago, but no deal was reached that would’ve seen him work a match.

Braun Strowman Attacks Tyson Fury At WWE Performance Center (Video)

WWE has attempted to generate more interest for their upcoming matchup between Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury. A confrontation took place between the two heavyweights as Fury trained at the WWE Performance Center in preparation for his Crown Jewel match.

In a video uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel, Fury practices a few collar and elbow lock-ups before running the ropes to deliver a shoulder tackle. However, during his training session ‘The Gypsy King’ would be blindsided by Strowman, who delivered a shoulder tackle of his own. The attack left Fury limping as he attempted to get up as he declined medical assistance.

WWE has since teased the following, “Will Fury be fully healed for WWE Crown Jewel or will the attack tip the scales in the direction of the mighty Strowman?”

The two are set to face off at the end of the month on October 31st at WWE Crown Jewel. The event takes place in the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This matchup will be Fury’s WWE debut.
