Bray Wyatt Says WWE Didn’t Know How To Use The Wyatt Family, Teases New Members

Bray Wyatt was a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast during WrestleMania 32. Topics discussed include WWE not knowing how to use The Wyatt Family, how he came up with the Bray Wyatt character, Luke Harper’s injury and his plan to face Brock Lesnar in the not too distance future. Here are some highlights of what Bray said about:

Luke Harper’s knee injury:

“Without him it’s so weird because it [has] never been without him. He’s my captain. It was mine and his before Rowan and Braun were ever involved. And it’s going to be hard. But a soldier falls and drops his flag, the next soldier comes by, picks it up. Hopefully, we’ll get more Wyatts. They can’t replace Harper. That’s impossible, but just an army of Wyatts. We never need to have any titles. We never need to feud with anyone. We should just come out every show, just 20 Wyatts and just mutilate someone for no reason because that’s who we are.”

WWE not knowing how to use the Wyatt Family:

“I don’t think, when we set out and finally got the call up, I don’t know if they really understood what they had. Like, we knew the NXT crowd had responded so well to us and they kind of like attached themselves to us and when we came up here we, never in a million years, thought it was going to explode the way it did. And it did. It exploded. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was just that kind of thing, the right place at the right time. And we were so different, man. We were so different that I don’t think the company knew even how to use us. ‘What are these things?’ Like, we were so different and in the promos [and] so different in the way we looked and how we moved. We were big and we would fly and do all this crazy stuff. Like, I don’t think anyone expected us to be so complete. And they still don’t know how to use what we are.”

Bray Wyatt: “Me & Brock Lesnar Will Meet Down The Line”

Bray Wyatt is reportedly dealing with a back injury significant enough that he was pulled from planned matches with Brock Lesnar at both WWE Roadblock and WrestleMania 32. Wyatt was recently a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and he discussed the his injury, and the change of plans for him and Lesnar.

“Me and Brock Lesnar are going to meet. And this is the only way I can put this, me and Brock Lesnar will meet down the line. It will mean something and I’m going to give him my soul and my body, and, hopefully, he doesn’t kill me, but if he does, then, so be it. That’s as much as I can give there. I’ve been beaten up quite a bit this past year. We all have. It [has] been a rough year as far as the curse of the injury, but I’m still ticking, barely, but I’m still here. I’m still alive.”

WWE has reportedly been testing the waters with turning Bray Wyatt face at their house shows.

Update On Bray Wyatt’s Back Injury & A Potential Babyface Turn

Despite a report last week by Dave Meltzer that Bray Wyatt is dealing with a “significant” back injury, the Wyatt Family leader continues to wrestle in multi-man matches at live events.

According to fan reports from this weekend’s live events, Bray was bumping around like normal and was even showing some babyface tendencies – taking pictures with fans at ringside and hyping up the crowd during his matches.

WWE will often test out gimmick changes at live shows, so this could be a sign of what’s to come.

Comment on this article and let us know what you think about the possibility of Bray Wyatt turning babyface in the near future.

Bray Wyatt Teasing Something ‘Wicked’ For WrestleMania

WWE aired a vignette on SmackDown featuring Bray Wyatt delivering a cryptic message regarding WrestleMania. Wyatt says he knows something we don’t know and it’s wicked.

As noted earlier this week by the Wrestling Observer, Wyatt is said to be dealing with a “significant” back injury, but he won’t be of out action for an extended period of time. After the dust settles from WrestleMania, Bray is scheduled to feud with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar headed into summer.

Bray Wyatt Dealing With Significant Back Injury, Warrior Award Recipient & More

– Bray Wyatt is dealing with a significant back injury, which is why Brock Lesnar ended up working against Luke Harper at WWE Roadblock. Wyatt can remain on WWE television in a non-wrestling capacity while he recovers, but another injury is the last thing WWE needs right now.

Wyatt was originally scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, but it’s unknown if the injury was the reason for WWE pairing Lesnar with Ambrose instead. When he’s cleared to return, Wyatt is still scheduled to feud with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the coming months.

– The recipient of this year’s Warrior Award is rumored to be Joan Lunden. The longtime host of Good Morning America has battled breast cancer publicly and has appeared on WWE TV during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

– Last week it was reported that Triple H and Kurt Angle had a meeting at the Arnold Sports Festival. While both were in attendance and both were spotted with Arnold Schwarzenegger, there was no meeting between Triple H and Angle.

The Real Reason Bray Wyatt Didn’t Wrestle At WWE Roadblock

Bray Wyatt never got involved in his advertised match with Brock Lesnar at Saturday night’s Roadblock event, which lead to speculation that WWE was protecting Wyatt for a feud with Lesnar after WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com reported on Sunday night that it turns out Bray is working with a back injury right now. Meltzer says Bray’s back is in really bad shape, so WWE made the decision to stop him from taking bumps for the time being. This adds to the list of injuries Bray has sustained since his NXT days, including a pectoral injury that required surgery and several nagging injuries.

Bray currently isn’t advertised to compete at WrestleMania on April 3rd.

Bray Wyatt Wishes He Was Facing Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania Instead Of Roadblock

Cc 0t96WEAE71mU

Bray Wyatt spoke with the Philly Voice this week to promote WWE’s upcoming RAW taping from Philly on March 21st. The Eater of Worlds will square off against Brock Lesnar this coming Saturday night at WWE Roadblock, which airs live on the WWE Network.

Bray says he’s very much looking forward to the challenge and he’s been studying Lesnar for quite some time. Every opponent he’s faced has been different, from The Undertaker to John Cena and Chris Jericho. He knows Lesnar is a very dangerous individual – but so is he. He teased that he’s a little sick in the head and defeating Brock Lesnar would immediately shoot him to the top of WWE’s ranks.

Even though he’s happy to finally get a crack at The Beast, he is a bit disappointed their match won’t be taking place at WrestleMania 32. Wyatt said,

“Of course I’d rather do it at WrestleMania. Then again, you don’t know what I’m gonna do at WrestleMania. It’s still an open-ended game for me. Like I said, to beat Brock Lesnar right before WrestleMania, you should be owed some kind of spot, some kind of high place – you know, I view myself as a high place player – I’m a serious player in this game and I intend to keep that.”

Bray Wyatt and his minions do not yet have a match announced for WrestleMania, but it sounds like Bray has something up his sleeve.

Editorial: An Open Letter To The WWE About Giving Bray Wyatt A Chance

Dear WWE,

At WrestleMania 31, Bray Wyatt had the best mic skills in the company. He carried his feud with the Undertaker, who was fresh off a loss against Brock Lesnar the year before. The Phenom didn’t set foot on WWE TV, despite Wyatt cutting golden promos week in and week out.

The Deadman made his climactic return to the big screen at WrestleMania 31. Wyatt lost to Taker in a good match. However, that was the peak of Wyatt’s status in World Wrestling Entertainment.

How is it that a top-level talent like Bray Wyatt continues to make threats, gets pushed for a week, and then loses to a team including the Big Show, Kane and Ryback? One of your own legends, Stone Cold Steve Austin, even commented on the lack of dedication with the Eater of Worlds.

“They’ve really homogenized The Wyatt Family. They’ve got great music. They’ve got a great entrance. Bray cuts a hell of a promo and Luke Harper is starting to cut great promos. He has drastically improved too and I know this guy’s a veteran guy … these guys were some of the hottest guys in the company a year, year and a half ago. Here we are now and, I mean, just quite frankly, it is what it is. They don’t mean what they should to this company. And Bray Wyatt, being the leader of this faction, is taking a huge hit. And that’s a travesty of booking right there because, again, these are some very talented guys within The Wyatt Family structure.”

I truly couldn’t have said it better myself.

Austin, who has a knack for knowing great wrestling when he sees it, is all but appalled at what is going on with Wyatt. Just by looking at who he has beside him, Braun Strowman has the look and Luke Harper is one of the best wrestlers in the business.

Erick Rowan is a big body that can move around, which comes in handy when in need of protection.

At one point, Wyatt was extremely over as a babyface, even if that wasn’t your intention. It seems like that is happening a lot recently.

Before the Wyatt Family would come out, the screen would immediately go dark and they’d say to each city, “We’re here!” From the adults to the children, they’d take out their cell phone and illuminate the room with their camera flash.

It became a staple of Monday Night Raw and Thursday Night Smackdown.

What is it about Bray Wyatt that can’t be seen?

Is it his selling ability? Is it his work rate? Wyatt has had great matches without breaking a sweat and the way he cuts promos can be discussed in one word, “Excellent.”

WWE fans all around the world can see that Wyatt isn’t a priority anymore. That’s why the hashtag “#GiveBrayWyattAChance” began to trend last night during Raw.

https://twitter.com/BurttheViking/status/704499910540832768

Wyatt isn’t the Eater of Worlds. He isn’t the New Face of Fear. For that to happen, he needs to win matches. There must be a feud that sets him apart from the rest of the roster.

When his program with Daniel Bryan or the Undertaker ended, that was your chance to make that happen. If you’re worried about merchandise, check the arena when he was getting pushed. His shirt was all over the place. Fans even cosplayed as Wyatt on a daily basis at house shows.

Right before the Royal Rumble, Wyatt, and his minions attacked Lesnar. It was the perfect set-up for a WrestleMania match between the two.

Instead, Dean Ambrose got that slot filled and is now facing Lesnar at Mania. Not many are complaining about that match, but who is Bray Wyatt facing on April 3?

There’s a little more than four weeks until WrestleMania 32 and the Wyatt Family doesn’t even have a rivalry? There’s no logic in this. Especially after the brilliant return of Shane McMahon and instant push of Ambrose, was Wyatt simply forgotten about?

Please WWE, give Bray Wyatt a chance.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Viewer

Bo Dallas Interview: Wanting To Team With Bray Wyatt, Facing Brock Lesnar

Bo Dallas spoke with AL.com this week to promote Monday’s WWE RAW in Birmingham, Alabama.

Wanting to become tag team champions with his brother Bray Wyatt:

“Oh, absolutely. Anything is possible We grew up as brothers dreaming about the day we would become tag team champions. Who knows? Who knows what’s going to happen?”

What it’s like getting in the ring with Brock Lesnar:

“There’s no controlling Brock Lesnar. You have no idea what he’s going to do. At any moment, he could rip your head off. He’s Brock Lesnar. He’s a beast, and he does what he wants. It was intense, awesome and terrifying all at the same time.”

He also spoke about NXT’s growth since he got called up to the main roster and how being from the south has influenced his wrestling career.

Steve Austin Says WWE Has Plans For Him At WrestleMania 32, Sister Abigail Coming To WWE?

– During his appearance on Jim Ross’ “Ross Report” podcast this week, which was the special 100th episode of the show, WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin revealed the fact that he expects to be at WrestleMania 32 in April. Additionally, Austin noted that there are creative plans in place for his involvement in the show, but quickly mentioned that he couldn’t discuss them yet.

– There continues to be a lot of discussion within WWE regarding the idea of introducing the Sister Abigail character to the storylines. The talk about the mysterious fictitious sister of Bray Wyatt being actualized by someone on WWE television dates back over a year ago, however the discussions have become more serious as of late and there is a legitimate possibility that she will soon be added to The Wyatt Family.

Jim Ross Blog: Bray Wyatt As A Babyface, Reigns & Sheamus’ RAW Segment & More

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross updated his official blog at JRsBarBQ.com for the second time this week with his thoughts on Monday’s RAW, including the much-talked-about Roman Reigns and Sheamus segment, his thoughts on Bray Wyatt’s potential as a babyface and more. Below are some of the highlights.

On Roman Reigns & Sheamus’ performance on RAW:

“Like the fact that WWE is trying to create a faction with Sheamus and company. Whether it works or not is TBD but hopefully the four talents involved are contributing to the presentation. If they aren’t and it fails then they need to look in the mirror.

Roman Reigns will advance faster up the ladder and with a stronger foundation if more of the Roman TV persona is presented naturally and not so scripted or produced. For Roman to be put in a position to carry a long in ring promo isn’t fair to him or his fans. Always play to the talents’ strengths and long oratory isn’t one of Reigns strengths just yet.

Might just be me but do most fans think the ‘Tater Tot’ line is funny? It was cute the first time that I heard it on RAW and then it got old in a hurry.”

On Bray Wyatt’s babyface tease:

“Loved it when the Wyatts came out to confront Sheamus’ crew. Did you feel the buzz when fans thought Bray Wyatt was going to turn into a long awaited, character baby face? He’s money in that role MO but has minimal, villain steam as he hasn’t won any big bouts in recent memory.

Talents that are NOT over do not get over by losing consistently. It’s simple human nature, folks.”

Former WWE Superstar and ECW Original Tommy Dreamer made his WWE return on Monday’s edition of RAW at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dreamer returned during a promo segment that turned into a match between The Dudley Boyz and The Wyatt Family.

Bubba Ray and Devon were cutting a promo in the ring when the four Wyatt Family members — Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan — hit the ring. The Dudleyz claimed that they too had family on their side, which led to Dreamer making his way out.

The ECW Original made his way to the ring with a trash can full of weapons, which led to he and The Dudleyz teaming on to take on The Wyatt Family in a match on RAW. The match ended up finishing in a no contest, with Bubba Ray putting Bray through a table after the match to end the segment.

John Cena Added To First WWE SmackDown Taping For The USA Network

WWE has officially added John Cena to the January 5th SmackDown television taping at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas. That will be the first taping for SmackDown on the USA Network.

With tickets scheduled to go on sale for the taping on November 23rd, there had been some concern that there were not enough big stars advertised for the show. The plan since WWE announced that SmackDown was moving to the USA Network has been to load up the show with star power.

The updated lineup for the 1/5 SmackDown taping in Laredo now features Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman and more.

After Monday night’s WWE Survivor Series “go-home” edition of RAW went off the air, Bray Wyatt came back out. Wyatt spoke about Survivor Series briefly before calling out Roman Reigns.

This led to an eight-man post-show dark match for the live crowd at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. The match ended up mostly consisting of guys doing their finishers and other big spots.

The match featured Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman taking on Reigns, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose. Ultimately, everyone fought to the back and in the end, Reigns and Ambrose were left alone in the ring.

Ambrose took the mic and said the two would win their matches and meet in the finals to determine the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Reigns agreed and said they’d always be brothers.

Jim Ross Blog: Del Rio Face Turn?, Bray Wyatt’s Character & More

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on Monday’s RAW and more. Below are some of the highlights.

On Monday’s RAW:

“WWE was without a great deal of star power Monday night but had one of their better shows IMO nonetheless. It seems that talents who are still present realize that the door is open for them to step up and take ownership of the fleeting albeit lucrative top spots in WWE and become permanent residents of the main event neighborhood of the Promised Land.”

On Alberto Del Rio possibly turning on Zeb Colter:

“I see ADR turning on the villain Zeb Colter some time soon and becoming the Hispanic fan favorite that WWE desperately needs. It’s unfortunate that Alberto wasn’t able to keep his commitments to Mexico’s AAA after rejoining WWE. That’s never a good situation. No one wins in this particular situation.”

On changes to Bray Wyatt’s character:

“I’m confused about what Bray Wyatt is becoming with the purported, super natural powers, etc and need that story explained better to me. Still think that Wyatt will one day be a huge fan favorite. Not today, but after a good, hot bad guy run. Has Wyatt inherited Taker’s eerie demeanor?”

Team B.A.D. came out and distracted Nattie, leading to Paige winning the match with her RamPaige finisher. After the match, Team B.A.D. beat up Nattie until the referees intervened.

– WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio is out next with Zeb Colter. He talks about their MexAmerica group and they say that the title now represents both countries.
