-At WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley’s comedy show in Boston this weekend, he was asked if there were any current pro wrestlers around that he felt could be the next Mick Foley. Foley said he thinks Dean Ambrose or Bray Wyatt could be the next Mick Foley.
-Former WWE Superstar John Morrison was featured in a brief appearance on the Adult Swim show STSF-SD-SUV last week playing an undercover version of the robot SAM.
-Former WWE Superstar Giovanni Roselli will be featured on the MTV show Nikki And Sara Life on Tuesday at 11:00pm ET.
The following are highlights from a new online blog by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:
JR on Paul Heyman: “Paul Heyman feigning a knee injury was funny. Reminded me of an old time promoter who pulled that stunt in grocery stores to score paydays back in early 70’s. Punk’s act of caning was timely and memorable.”
JR on The Wyatt Family: “Anxious to see what the eventual destination will be for Bray Wyatt & Family. Remember, big men with a second gear are special. Was actually surprised to see Wyatt vs Ziggler on Raw for some reason.”
JR on Randy Orton vs. Goldust: “Great build up for Goldust vs. Orton. The match was a good one too with the last five minutes hitting another level with all the near falls. Enjoyed the pace of Goldust vs Orton too. Far too many talents in the biz wrestle too fast more often than not & if the audience doesn’t have the time to process and feel what they are seeing, then who wins?”

The following are highlights from a recent interview with former TNA Impact Wrestling star Christian York:
On his TNA release: “It was the same time everyone else was getting released, they just called, I guess it was like July 2nd or 3rd or something, said ‘they gotta give you your release.’ I hadn’t heard back from them at all in a while, in May whenever I worked for them last, it was just, they had to let me go. They had to make budget cuts. When they have nothing that they can do for ya, they can’t fit you into the stories, you’re just sitting at home collecting a paycheck they’re gonna have to make a budget cut. That was just the way it was.”
“I don’t know if I’d say I didn’t get a fair shake, I don’t think I got to live up to the potential that I think I have. I think maybe in the beginning they were just testing the waters with me to see if I could get over. I really have no idea because I never got any feedback. I thought I was having some good matches with people, especially with Jeff and Bobby Roode, had some good stuff. Then all of the sudden you don’t show up for TV anymore, you’re just sitting at home collecting a paycheck. I was doing house shows and stuff but that was it. I was just grateful that they gave me a shot.”
On the state of TNA: “To be honest, I think the company’s just trying to get through, so you have to make changes. WWE has to make changes with what they want to do the day of the show. You can’t just say this is how it’s going to be and six months from now this is how we’re going to get there, because things change. Guys get injuries, it’s ever changing. The guys sitting at home, everybody has the answers, right? The ones that don’t do it, everybody has the answers, and everybody thinks it’s easy, but it’s not. To try and run a company, that’s trying to do something that big, that’s not an easy thing to do. You have a lot of outside things going on, it’s not just about wrestling.”
On Daniel Bryan: “I think he’s an inspiration for anybody trying to get there. I mean he’s what, 5’8′ and he doesn’t fit the mold like you said but I think pound for pound he’s the best wrestler in the world. He’s the best worker in the world. You can have him do anything and he’s gonna make it work.”
On Bobby Roode: “The guy I like, I like Bobby Roode. I think Bobby Roode is an awesome talent. I really do. I think he can have a good match with anybody and he gets the job done.”
On Bray Wyatt: “When the buzz started going around about it, I guess when he first started doing the gimmick, I checked it out on You Tube that was before he hit the big stage, it was just the FCW, NXT or whatever. I saw his promos and said, ‘This is cool. I like this. This is definitely fresh.’ But I’ve been a fan of that guy’s work. I was a fan of him as when he was Husky Harris. I enjoy seeing a big guy like him, his build, his weight, that can just move like a freight train. But i think the character’s awesome. I hope there’s a lot of longevity in that.”
– It was announced at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings that the WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 pay-per-view will take place from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014. The password for the ongoing Internet pre-sale is CHAMBER.
– WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt recently spoke to the Charlotte Observer website about how he selected the official entrance theme song for the Wyatt Family, “Live in Fear.” Originally, the song was titled, “Broken Out of Love.” Wyatt discovered the song while browsing a website listing songs that were available for licensing on television. He told the Charlotte Observer:
“As soon as I heard the bass line of this one, a spark happened. It was magic. He was able to capture a mood in a melody. The mood is very eerie. The song and Bray Wyatt come together so well because Bray is an enigma.”
-The man who portrayed the fireman during the “Ring Of Fire” match between Kane and Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam on Sunday night was independent wrestler Xtain Cole. As noted yesterday, Cole was also the man who portrayed the bully victim of Ryback on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW.
-WWE Hall Of Famer Tammy Sytch will be making an appearance at the Pro Wrestling World establishment in the Merchants Square Mall at 1901 S. 12th St. in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The former “Sunny” will be appearing on Saturday, August 24th from noon until 3pm ET. signing autographs and photographs at $15 a pop. Autograph and photo combos will be available at $25.
According to one source, The Wyatt Family is currently considered a pet project of Triple H in WWE these days. The general consensus within WWE is that HHH is grooming the Wyatt Family for a big push, even more so than the one they are currently riding.
One report claims HHH is specifically grooming them for the spot that was one designated for The Shield. Apparently The Shield is about to be bumped down a notch or two in favor of the Wyatt’s.
Past pet projects of Hunter’s included Kharma and Sin Cara. The general feeling there is both of those projects bombed, so “The Game” is expected to go all out when it comes to getting the Wyatt’s over in a major way.
The official Xfinity website recently posted an interview with Paul Heyman. While most of the interview is Heyman answering questions completely in-character, below are highlights where Heyman is somewhat candid in his responses.
On the significance of his role in last year’s WrestleMania: “It’s huge. Nothing short of it. And probably even bigger than that adjective. It’s exhilarating for me because you have the most unique, the most gifted athlete in the history of the WWE, or UFC, or college athletics in Brock Lesnar, going against a wrestler who probably has more heart, more determination, and the ability to overcome the odds better than anybody else that I’ve ever come across in my entire career in CM Punk. It’s a fascinating match-up. It won’t be over in 30 seconds. This is going to be an all-night affair. There’s an old expression in the professional wrestling business; “This match will be worth the price of admission.” I humbly suggest that Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk is worth the price of admission alone.”
On Brock Lesnar telling him to ‘say something stupid’ on RAW recently: “He wanted me to say something stupid! Brock Lesnar is a man who thinks in a far different way than your average beast walking down the street. This is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. Brock made his point, he told the world, “I, Brock Lesnar, am better than CM Punk.” So, what else is there for us to say?”
On his thoughts about Daniel Bryan: “I’m not done recruiting Daniel Bryan. I think Daniel Bryan is a fascinating performer who has put on arguably the most consistent string of best matches of the past year. The striking thing about Daniel Bryan is the best is yet to come with him. Daniel Bryan still has more to offer. And having seen footage of him dating back to when he was wrestling in VFW halls and very small arenas and high school gymnasiums, he still has so much more that the WWE Universe hasn’t seen. I’m admittedly, and I will confess to this, a huge fan of Daniel Bryan.”
On his thoughts about John Cena: “I think there’s a streak going involving John Cena that both the WWE Universe and the media have failed to pick up on. The glory days of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin lasted two, maybe two-and-a-half years. That was the peak of his run. He came back as General Manager, but day-to-day, going to every city, main eventing every Pay Per View, the focal point of Monday Night Raw…Steve Austin’s peak was two-and-a-half years. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s peak was along the same lines. John Cena has been the focal point of WWE since 2005. For eight and now going on nine years, John Cena has not only main evented all the Pay Per Views, been the major attraction on Raw. John Cena has gone to every city, main events all the live events, and yet he still makes all these media appearances, he’s done more Make-A-Wish Foundation visits than anybody in history…and he’s a tireless workhorse. And he shows up last Monday with his elbow…looking grotesquely…is that a word? His elbow was so messed up and yet he says, “Wrap me up, I’m going out there to perform because the people are counting on me.” There is a work ethic to John Cena that is to behold.”
On his thoughts about Bray Wyatt: “It’s an emotional presentation, and it sets him apart from everyone else which means that Bray Wyatt will stand out. Whether it’s in WWE or UFC or Major League Baseball or the NBA or the NFL or television or movies…any genre that is star-driven has the need for unique personalities. And Bray Wyatt is as unique as they come.”
On how TNA Impact Wrestling handled Rob Van Dam: “I don’t mind getting into detail. I think TNA squandered the opportunity of exploiting the talents of Rob Van Dam. And I don’t think that’s a mistake the WWE is going to repeat.”

* – It was made clear by the RAW commentary team of JBL, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole that the “Ring Of Fire” match will end via pinfall or submission. In the past, you must catch your opponent on fire to win. However, that is the difference between an “Inferno Match” and a “Ring Of Fire” match.
-Also, it’s worth noting that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns issued a challenge to any team to face them for their WWE Tag-Team Championships at SummerSlam. With Big Show returning to in-ring action at Sunday’s live event in Oakland, and returning to WWE television on RAW and facing off with Mark Henry, it’s possible the duo of Show and Henry will respond to the challenge on WWE SmackDown this week.
Make sure to check back here at SESCOOPS.COM on Tuesday evening for live WWE SmackDown spoilers to find out the final touches to this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view lineup.

-WWE Superstar The Big Show tweeted on Monday evening, “Bigshowisback,” and also mentioned that he would be a part of the SummerSlam Fan Axxess event on August 17th.
-WWE Superstar and leader of the Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, posted the following tweet after Monday’s RAW in regards to the “Ring Of Fire” match between himself and Kane at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view.
“Burn, Burn, Burn The #RINGofFIRE #RAW”
-WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy Valiant celebrates his 71st birthday today. Valiant was born on August 6, 1942. Also celebrating a birthday today is Matt Hardy’s fiancee’, Reby Sky, who turns 27 today. Sky was born on August 6, 1986.
Since making their frightening debut on the July 8 episode of Raw, the menacing Wyatt Family has had their sights set on Kane, brutally assaulting him on two separate occasions. Now, at SummerSlam on Sunday, Aug. 18, The Devil’s Favorite Demon will get a chance at long-awaited vengeance when he goes one-on-one with Bray Wyatt inside a “Ring of Fire.”
Later on in the article, WWE.com echo’d the confusion many had when the match was alluded to during RAW. The official WWE website continued:
Although it’s unclear exactly what the sermonizing Wyatt meant, it’s apparent the buzzards’ trail is now leading to a massive collision between the deranged newcomer and Kane at The Biggest Party of the Summer. And the much-anticipated battle – which marks Wyatt’s first match in WWE and Kane’s 11th SummerSlam appearance – promises fireworks – or, more appropriately, hellfire.
And finally, while nothing was officially announced on RAW, WWE.com all-but-confirmed a match between the two for SummerSlam. WWE.com closed out their article by writing:
Will Kane get fiery vengeance on his puzzling pursuers? Or, will “The Eater of Worlds” and his followers once again leave The Big Red Monster in a heap? Find out on Sunday, Aug. 18, when SummerSlam airs live on pay-per-view.
WWE heavily alluded to a possible “Ring Of Fire” match between Kane and Bray Wyatt at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view.
During the Wyatt Family segment on RAW, Kane appeared on the titantron just as the segment appeared to be wrapping up. Instead of going to commercial after the sheep mask flashed on the screen, Kane appeared and cut a promo on Bray Wyatt, who was still in the ring with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
Kane told Wyatt that at SummerSlam, even his family won’t be able to save him from a “ring of fire.” According to one report, it is likely that a Kane vs. Bray Wyatt match will happen at SummerSlam in an “Inferno Match.”
The first ever “Inferno Match” was held at the WWE Unforgiven pay-per-view in 1998, and featured Kane taking on his “brother” The Undertaker in a rematch from their bout at WrestleMania XIV. The match featured the two brothers competing in a ring completely surrounded by fire.
Only four more “Inferno Matches” have taken place since the initial match, all of which featured “The Devil’s Favorite Demon.”
WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross has once again updated the Q&A section of his official website. Below are highlights:
On Goldberg’s new DVD and a match between he and The Undertaker: “The compliation Goldberg DVD will do good. I’ve not seen it but likely will check it out. Goldberg vs. Taker in their heyday would have been nice. Who wins would have depended on where and when it was but I’d lean toward Taker.”
On whether or not JR will ever start his own podcast: “Likely not. Too much work. :) Not enough money.”
On Bray Wyatt’s in-ring ability: “Many of us have seen him wrestle a great deal in NXT. He’s a keeper.”
On his favorite Mid-South Wrestling angles: “Had many favorites and am looking forward to the Mid South DVD WWE is releasing on Sept 10. Ted [DiBiase] and [Junkyard] Dog were hard to beat.”
On one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen’s WWE run: “He had great heart and passion.”
On Dean Ambrose’s potential when The Shield eventually breaks up: “The goal is always for any entity to have more sizzle and potential when they split and become single stars. Ambrose will be interesting to follow along with Rolins and Reigns.”
On if he feels the U.S. and Intercontinental Titles should be unified: “I don’t see the value in doing so. It’s not hard to make them both mean more.”
Check out more Jim Ross Q&A at his official website, JRsBarBQ.com.

– On Friday’s SmackDown broadcast (taped Wednesday in Corpus Christi, Texas), Rob Van Dam lost in under a minute to Alberto Del Rio after the ECW Original was distracted by the match official, leading the World Heavyweight Champion to strike him with brutal kick to the face. The reason for the match outcome was because Del Rio had broken a rib or ribs the night before in a match against Sheamus and was therefore unable to properly compete.
– WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley was quite impressed with Bray Wyatt and Damien Sandow’s performances on Friday’s SmackDown broadcast.
“OK, good night for real this time. By the way, @WWEBrayWyatt is my new hero…with all due respect to @RRWWE. Intoxicating stuff, bro,” Foley wrote on Twitter following the show. “I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE! -The official WWE Twitter page noted that WWE Superstar Fandango trended worldwide during the airing of SmackDown on Friday night. Also trending worldwide during the show was “#SmackDown” and “CM Punk.”
-WWE posted a new “Tout” that simply features Bray Wyatt’s hat creepily moving around on its’ own. You can check out that brief video clip online at Tout.com.
– Timing issues led to several last-minute changes to RAW. Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett were originally scheduled to have a lengthy match, but the match was ultimately scrapped because Paul Heyman’s segment with CM Punk ran about 4 minutes longer than it was supposed to. Rob Van Dam’s match with Chris Jericho was booked to run 14 minutes, but was given additional 8 minutes as a result of the Bryan vs. Barrett match being cut.
– WWE has uploaded the following video of Rob Van Dam’s new entrance video:
– WWE announced on Monday that Fandango suffered a concussion at last week’s SmackDown tapings and as a result, is not medically cleared to compete at Sunday’s WWE Payback pay-per-view. According to sources in WWE, the concussion is legitimate.
Fandango did not wrestle at this past weekend’s WWE Live Events. Even though he did pass a concussion impact test, WWE is being extra cautious before letting him wrestle again.
– Here is the newest (third) Wyatt Family vignette, which aired during Monday’s RAW:
– WWE.com has a new feature up looking at photos of WWE Divas from Instagram.
– Dolph Ziggler’s first match since returning to action from a concussion back on May 7th has been announce. The World Heavyweight champion will defend against Alberto Del Rio this Saturday at the WWE Live Event from Johnson City, Tennessee. As noted earlier this week, he’ll also be on Monday’s RAW.
– WWE newcomer Bray Wyatt has yet to wrestle a single match on WWE television, but he’s already got plans for next year’s WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view. He tweeted on Thursday:
WWE Superstar The Miz recently spoke with The Miami Herald to promote WWE’s upcoming live event from Sunrise, Florida. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
New Talent Getting Brought Up From NXT:
“I love having new talent come up. It’s great, and I think WWE is doing a great job bringing in new characters and new entertainment to the WWE Universe out there and new characters for me to play with out there. I mean now we have a guy that dances called Fandango and during one of my matches I’m wrestling, what does he do? He starts his music and starts dancing during my match. I’m sorry, but I’m the center of attention when I’m in the ring. Not Fandango. It’s been incredible to have all these new characters. It just makes it so much more fun.”
Antonio Cesaro, The Shield and Bray Wyatt:
“Antonio Cesaro is one of the toughest opponents I’ve had to face, and he was just a rookie at that time [when I worked with him. Imagine when he is a seasoned vet. He just keeps getting better and better and better. Then you have the Shield. The Shield hasn’t lost yet, whether it’s in a singles match or tag matches. They’re dominant. You look at this Bray Wyatt, definitely freaky and weird and interesting. I can’t wait for this guy to debut just to see what he [and the rest of the family] is all about. There is tons of up-and-coming talent, for me to pick a superstar to be the next Rock or the next [John] Cena, time will tell.”
The World Heavyweight Title:
“One of the things I haven’t had is the world heavyweight championship. So I think I need to go after that and grab that world heavyweight championship for once.”
His Fiance, Maryse:
“I have my dream girl. I finally found the one I’ve been looking for. It has been absolutely fantastic, but obviously with being on the road so much, it causes headaches because we want to see each other. So sometimes I bring her on the road with me, but she understands, and it’s great she understands with me being on the road and with me being with WWE. She knows I’m setting ourselves up for the life that we want.”
– For the fans who have sent in emails asking, the official theme song of Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family is “Broken Out In Love” by Mark Crozer and The Rels:
On Monday’s RAW, we saw the debut promo for the Wyatt Family – Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The talented trio of NXT stars are widely regarded as 3 of the top talents at developmental, with Rowan and Harper currently holding the NXT tag team titles.
Wyatt, the group’s leader, was last seen on WWE television as the Nexus member Husky Harris. The character is loosely based on Robert De Niro’s portrayal of Max Cady in the 1991 remake of Cape Fear and has similarities to former WWE superstar Waylon Mercy, portrayed by Dan Spivey back in 1995.
Rowan worked as Thorus in Pro Wrestling NOAH before signing with WWE and Harper worked for Dragon Gate (and other promotions) as Brodie Lee.
— Following the vignette on RAW, Bray Wyatt was the #1 Twitter trend in the United States.
— Benson Simbirski was at RAW and sent in this tidbit. This explains why the crowd was cheering and turning around during the RAW main event. “Basically there were these 3 Guido dudes and one big girl, it seemed like they were drinking quite a bit throughout the night because I kept seeing them go to get beers. Whenever they’d get up they’d always yell at people as they were leaving, didn’t matter who, saw them making fun of a little kid wearing a John Cena shirt at one point. During the main event security went up to talk to them and next thing I saw was one of them punch the security guard in the face. Within seconds there was about 15 security guards and a few cops there. The kids kept up with trying to fight the security guards and got taken down pretty quick and dragged out. One of the kids had a broken arm and got choked out after he took a swing at security. Two of the guys got thrown into some seats. After they got removed I saw security talk to a mother and two little kids and take a report from them, one of the kids was crying so I think it involved them some how. The cheering for the fight was way louder than anyone cheering for the match. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more info. Just out grabbing some wings right now and my phones at 10% but ill be home in 45 minutes.”
— Kultar Kooldip Mann also sent in this report: All I ended up seeing was a tidal wave of security rush over to the area, then I saw them get about 4 people out of there. There was one little guy who absoultely decked a security guard in the face, it was nuts.
