After weeks of speculation, WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt, portraying The Fiend, vs. Goldberg took place.
As seen at Thursday’s WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Goldberg ended up going over on Wyatt. This marked Goldberg’s first match of 2020 and his second reign as Universal Champion.
This match was booked on the February 7th episode of Friday Night SmackDown in San Jose, CA at the SAP Center on FOX when Goldberg made an appearance.
He talked about never getting a rematch for when he lost the Universal Title. He then issued a challenge to Wyatt. This is when Wyatt appeared in a Firefly Funhouse segment to accept the challenge.
Goldberg worked last year’s Super ShowDown show in the country where he battled The Undertaker. The match had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.
Thus, almost one year later, Goldberg was looking to right the wrongs that were made and did so.
What are your thoughts on Goldberg winning the Universal Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
RAW Commentator Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler recently held a fan “Q&A” session on his Jerry Lawler Show podcast. One of the more intriguing queries came from a fan asking who Lawler would face in WWE today if he had the chance. Lawler’s initial response was The Miz, as he felt their chemistry from their bouts in 2011 would be easy to replicate.
“Miz would be excellent to work with,” Jerry Lawler began. Lawler then described how Bray Wyatt put it out there that he wanted a match against the ‘King of Memphis.’ “And you know, after we did the little thing a while back on Monday Night Raw (August 2019), before I was back doing commentary. I just came on for a guest appearance. Bray Wyatt came to me afterwards and he said ‘King I would love to work with you down in Memphis.'”
Jerry Lawler vs The Fiend?
It is extremely unlikely that the bout would ever happen in WWE, as Lawler suffered from a heart attack during a live episode of RAW back in 2013. The situation was critical, with Lawler reportedly being clinically dead for almost five minutes before being resuscitated. There have been numerous reports and Lawler himself has said that he cannot get physical whilst on WWE television. Jerry Lawler does however still wrestle periodically on independent cards across the United States.
Lawler made it clear that he would relish the idea of facing ‘The Fiend’ in his home territory of Memphis. “I just thought back then, what matches I could have had. Because he [Wyatt] was the perfect kind of villain that we would bring in. The big scary monster type. That’s the kind of people that I love to work with, and have matches with.”
Jerry Lawler finished by saying “I would love to have a have a match with Bray Wyatt or The Fiend either way.”
Hulk Hogan made his return to WWE SmackDown on FOX last night. His appearance on the show, however, was interrupted by the current WWE Universal Champion, Bray Wyatt.
Hogan’s appearance on the show was via satellite, similar to Goldberg’s last week. He was being interviewed by Michael Cole who asked him about the nWo’s upcoming induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, which will make him a two-time WWE HOF’er.
Hogan talked about his career highlights as a singles wrestler and his time with the nWo. He also talked about Bray Wyatt’s upcoming match with Goldberg at Super ShowDown, saying that Wyatt needs to be careful as he has faced Goldberg before and he knows how strong of a foe he is.
As they were talking about Wyatt, the lights flickered and the scene cut to the Firefly Fun House. Wyatt was spoofing the nWo, as the scene was monochrome, akin to the group’s old promos.
Wyatt mocked Hogan by playing with his title belt like a guitar. He joked that eating his vitamins and saying is prayers led him to the championship.
Hogan told Wyatt that he is a funny and entertaining guy, but his jokes won’t be funny when he gets in the ring with Goldberg. Getting into the ring with him is no joke.
Wyatt replied that he as a Fiend so he doesn’t need jokes when faces Goldberg in the ring. Wyatt then more or less threatened to add Hogan to his list of victims by holding up a framed picture of him with his eyes crossed out like his other victims’ pictures.
The segment ended with Hulk Hogan telling Bray Wyatt that he’ll see him in Tampa during the Hall of Fame. Wyatt then waved goodbye to Goldberg as the scene ended.
There has been speculation that WWE is teasing a match between Hogan and Wyatt and that it could take place at Mania, or at the next Saudi event after Super ShowDown.
The WWE Hall of Famer did so on Friday Night SmackDown this week in San Jose, CA at the SAP Center on FOX. WWE hyped his appearance earlier this week with an announcement about him being back on Monday Night RAW.
As seen on the show, Goldberg did a promo via satellite where he stated that since he can’t fight WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at Super ShowDown, he’ll go after another title. He talked about never getting a rematch for when he lost the Universal Title.
He then issued a challenge to Bray Wyatt. This is when Wyatt appeared in a Firefly Funhouse segment where he noted that The Fiend accepts Goldberg’s challenge.
WWE makes its return with the Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia later this month.
Of course, Goldberg is looking to right the wrongs that were made at last year’s Super ShowDown show where he battled The Undertaker.
The match had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.
WWE presents the Super ShowDown pay-per-view event on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.
Bray Wyatt will remain the WWE Universal Champion as he has retained the championship in his latest title defense.
He did so when he beat Daniel Bryan on Sunday night at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event from the Minute Maid Park.
Their first match came back in November when Wyatt beat Bryan in a championship match at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event. Fast forward to December, Wyatt beat The Miz at the WWE TLC pay-per-view event to retain the title.
Wyatt was expected to have a rematch with Bryan at this show. After the contest, Bryan showed off his new look and attacked Wyatt. Miz was originally slated to work with Wyatt at Survivor Series but plans changed with Bryan in that spot instead.
Bryan became the new #1 contender for the title when he WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown in late December in Detroit, Michigan at Little Caesars Arena on FOX.
A Triple Threat Match between Daniel Bryan, Baron Corbin, and The Miz took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to Wyatt’s title. Bryan was victorious, earning the right to challenge Wyatt for the strap at the Royal Rumble.
What are your thoughts on Bray Wyatt winning this title match at the show? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
Braun Strowman is excited about a potential showdown against WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.
Strowman recently did an interview with DallasNews.com where he spoke about a wide range of topics including a potential match against Wyatt.
This was where he was asked about Wyatt’s transformation into The Fiend. Strowman noted how it’s been a pretty awesome process to watch Bray and what he’s been able to accomplish.
He stated that he loves Bray and The Fiend thing is getting a little out of control. Thus, he wouldn’t mind having a shot at him one of these days and seeing what can happen,
“You never know,” Strowman said of a potential match. “There’s a lot of backstory and history between us being that Bray Wyatt is pretty much the sole reason that ‘The Monster Among Men’ is what he is today, bringing him in with the Wyatt family, and him being my mentor, my sensei.
Sometimes the student has to one day show the sensei who the boss is. Whenever he’s ready to step into the squared circle with me, I’m more than willing and ready.”
Strowman was introduced to fans on the main roster when he was added to The Wyatt Family that included Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan years ago.
With the two stars being on the same brand – Friday Night SmackDown – it’s possible that their paths will cross one day.
Perhaps, it could happen sooner rather than later as Strowman will compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match when WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event this Sunday with the winner being able to challenge for the top title on their brand at WrestleMania 36.
Bray Wyatt has reached out to his former Deleters of Worlds tag team partner, Matt Hardy. Wyatt took to social media, posting a cryptic offer of help to Hardy. He promised he could “heal” him, “just like you did for Me”
“dear matt, i couLd nEver hurT you i could heal you, just like you did for Me whEn the world threw me away you were the only one offering to pick me up and I Never forget…..”
dear matt, i couLd nEver hurT you
i could heal you, just like you did for Me
whEn the world threw me away you were the only one offering to pick me up
The two split as a team back in August 2018. In that time, Bray Wyatt has gone on to reinvent himself completely. He introduced not only the Firefly Funhouse but eventually the character of “The Fiend.”
Having developed this new gimmick, Wyatt subsequently defeated Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship back at WWE’s Crown Jewel event last October.
Matt Hardy’s Free The Delete
Hardy has recently expressed his apparent frustration with his current position within WWE. After having been associated with SmackDown, he made a few appearances on RAW before being unceremoniously moved once again. This led him to refer to his brand status as him being in “limbo.”
He started a series of new YouTube shows, including Free The Delete—a show that embraces a more creative way in telling its story. Hardy likened its style to the Final Deletion. He recently stated how if fans see something that stands out and possibly means something, that is an intentional creative choice, not just coincidence.
Bray Wyatt has made his intentions known to Daniel Bryan as he has issued a statement ahead of their rematch. Wyatt beat Bryan at Survivor Series in November.
Wyatt is slated to make his next title defense against Bryan as the WWE Universal Champion at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
Bray Wyatt Issues Warning
Wyatt took to his personal Instagram account to send a statement that starts out heartfelt before making it known how serious he is about retaining the title. He wrote the following:
“In 2014 I had one of my favorite bouts of my career against Daniel Bryan at The Royal Rumble. Bryan was red hot, it was his time. He went on to main event WrestleMania and become the champ. Deservedly so, Bryan is without a doubt the best I’ve ever been in the ring with. Fast forward to 2020…… The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan at The Royal Rumble. Bryan is like myself in the fact that no one said, “This is a guy we should build our companies future around!”, the first time we walked in the door.
WE had to scratch and claw, outwork, out talk, out perform everyone on the pedestal in front of us. Daniel Bryan is one of the greatest of all time. But this is not his time, it’s mine. This is when my name becomes synonymous with the industry I have given my life to. I want to thank you Bryan for the blood we’ve spilled together over the years. But understand, for me, this is my war worth dying for. The choice isn’t mine to make. Good luck.”
Regarding Wyatt’s post when he talks about 2014, Bryan and Wyatt had a feud that ended after Wyatt wanted Bryan to join The Wyatt Family alongside Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.
Fast forward to WrestleMania 30, Wyatt suffered a loss to John Cena in a singles match. On the flip side, Bryan had a wild night. He first beat Triple H in the opening match to earn the right to headline the show.
With this win over “The Game,” it allowed him to be added to the Triple Threat Match with Batista and Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. This is where Bryan won the championship.
WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Sunday, January 26, 2020 Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park and airs on the WWE Network.
WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.
WWE has crowned a new #1 contender and Bray Wyatt has received his opponent at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
The next challenger to Universal Championship will be Daniel Bryan. During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown Detroit, Michigan at Little Caesars Arena on FX, WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot.
Bray Wyatt Receives Opponent
A Triple Threat Match between Daniel Bryan, Baron Corbin, and The Miz took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to Wyatt’s title. Bryan was victorious, earning the right to challenge Wyatt for the strap at the Royal Rumble.
WWE set up this contest after last week’s show that featured an opening segment of Bryan making his return after a brief hiatus with a new look. This led to The Miz, who lost to Wyatt at the TLC pay-per-view event, and Baron Corbin walking out.
A traditional talking segment with all three stars making their case for why they should get a title match against Wyatt.
Eventually, Dolph Ziggler came out where the heels beat down the babyfaces. Ultimately, it set up the main event for the show with a tag team match between the four stars.
The headliner saw Miz and Bryan team up to beat Corbin and Ziggler. This is when it was confirmed that The Miz, Bryan, and Corbin will compete in a triple threat that would take place.
WWE has announced a big triple threat match for next week’s episode of Friday night SmackDown to determine the #1 contender for Bray Wyatt’s Universal Championship at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV.
The opening segment of this week’s episode of SmackDown saw Daniel Bryan, who made his return during TLC come out with his new look. He then started talking about the Fiend.
Both The Miz and Baron Corbin then came out as well and all
three of the superstars made the case on why they should be the one to
challenge the Universal Champion at the upcoming PPV.
Miz and Bryan then surrounded Corbin but Dolph Ziggler sneaked up from behind, and the segment ended with King Corbin delivering an end of days to Daniel, setting up a tag team match among the four stars for the main event of the show.
The main event saw the A-Lister teaming up with Daniel Bryan to defeat the heels. It was then announced that The Miz, Daniel Bryan, and Baron Corbin will compete in a triple threat next week to determine the next challenger for Wyatt’s Universal title.
Reports have suggested that WWE was originally planning a
Survivor Series re-match between Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt for the TLC PPV
but the bout was then held off for Royal Rumble.
So it won’t be a surprise if Daniel ends up winning the
match next week and earn the right to challenge The Fiend. Though we will have
to tune in to SmackDown next week to find out whether or not it actually turns
out to be the case.
As expected, Bray Wyatt was victorious at the final PPV event of the year, TLC
Wyatt beat The Miz at Sunday’s WWE TLC pay-per-view event. In this match, Wyatt portrayed his normal character that is usually shown in the Firefly Funhouse segments instead of his alter ego, The Fiend.
After the match, The Fiend appeared on the screen and Wyatt agreed to bring out the giant mallet. Daniel Bryan, dressed in a hoodie, hit his finisher to Wyatt with a new look as he cut his hair. Bryan was going to hit Wyatt with the mallet but the lights went out and Wyatt was gone.
Wyatt was expected to have a rematch with Bryan at this show after Wyatt beat Brayn in a championship match at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event last month.
However, WWE wrote Bryan off of television when Wyatt attacked Bryan. This led to The Miz stepping up to the task of being the next in line to challenge Wyatt for the title as well as get revenge on Wyatt for Bryan.
Miz was originally slated to work with Wyatt at Survivor Series but plans changed with Bryan in that spot instead.
Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Wyatt attacked Miz in a backstage segment and wasn’t dressed up as The Fiend.
What are your thoughts on Bray Wyatt winning this non-title match at the show? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
For the first time since making his return to WWE television earlier this year, it looks like Bray Wyatt will not portray his alter ego, The Fiend, when he wrestles in his next match.
WWE confirmed on Friday that Daniel Bryan wouldn’t be getting a rematch against Wyatt for the WWE Title at the TLC show. Instead, WWE is going in a different direction as they’ve gone back to original plans with The Miz being the next in line to try to dethrone Wyatt as the WWE Champion.
As seen in the graphic below, Wyatt will be portraying his normal character that is usually shown in the Firefly Funhouse segments. On SmackDown, Wyatt attacked Miz in a backstage segment and wasn’t dressed up as The Fiend.
Historically, when WWE advertises Wyatt for a match, a photo of him dressed as The Fiend is shown.
Reports have previously revealed three of the matches that
are currently scheduled to be part of the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs
PPV on December 15th.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about the show once again and he revealed which match will be main eventing the show.
According to Meltzer, a Survivor Series rematch between Daniel Bryan and the Universal Champion Bray Wyatt is currently scheduled to take place at the PPV and it’s expected to close the show.
Though it was also noted that Bryan is heavily involved in
the storyline so there are chances of this bout being held off for a later PPV.
In such a case, The Miz is expected to face the Fiend at the upcoming event.
Another interesting titbit from the Newsletter is the fact that Vince McMahon feels that the WWE PPVs are now about Network sign-ups and not the traditional PPV buys like they used to be.
Since the sign-up patterns show a subscription hike on the last day of the show, the Boss feels that there is no need to announce matches far in advance. This is the reason why the company is now not announcing the matches for the show beforehand.
Apart from the Universal Championship match, other matches advertised for the show include a stipulation bout between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin and more. You can check out a report on the other matches scheduled for the event here.
Former WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins has addressed his infamous Hell in a Cell main event. Back in October, Rollins competed against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in the cage. Their match was flooded in red lights throughout. Speaking on this past Tuesday’s episode of WWE Backstage, Rollins confessed that their clash was “a mess,” citing the lighting as a contributing factor.
“So that was a mess for me,” Rollins stated. “Because first of all, you’re in this dark red. The cell is also red and so you’re trying to navigate around the edges of the cell and it’s very tight quarters to begin with. It was a mess. It was very difficult to deal with especially not knowing what was going to happen. I for one am not a fan [of the red light]. I think it affects my performance personally.”
Their match would end in a referee stoppage. This decision led to confusion and derision amongst the WWE Universe, given that the match was contested under Hell in a Cell rules. Rollins isn’t the only person within WWE who wasn’t happy with the red lights blanketing his match. After The Bell host, Corey Graves, also shared his dislike for the stylistic choice, stressing on a past episode of WWE’s official podcast that he doesn’t look forward to “any more of that damn red light during The Fiend matches.”
In an update to the news there could be a new member joining Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House, it appears as though Erica Gimbel, a wardrobe stylist and designer for WWE, has revealed the character will be female.
Gimbel shared a video via her Twitter account of dress design, accompanied with the caption “Let Her In.” The Firefly Fun House themes song plays over the video as she adds details to the cuffs. She also tagged Bray Wyatt in the post. A few hours later, she posted a follow-up tweet, writing “Friday is going to be fun.”
This new Fun House member will join the current lineup, currenntly comprised of Ramblin’ Rabbit, Abby the Witch, Mercy the Buzzard and Huskus the Pig Boy. Wyatt recently used his show to debut the new, blue strapped version of the WWE Universal Championship.
“The Fiend” competed at this past Sunday’s WWE pay-per-view, Survivor Series. He faced off against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Universal Championship. Wyatt eventually defeated Bryan, ending the match with the Mandible Claw.
This week’s episode of SmackDown will take place in the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. It airs live on FOX every Friday at 8/7 C.
The main event of this week’s episode of Raw between Kevin
Owens and Seth Rollins ended with interference from Authors Of Pain and the
show ended with Rollins attacking Owens and talking trash after taking him
down.
Rollins went backstage after the show went off air and Drew
McIntyre came out as Owens was making his way to the stage. McIntyre stopped
and delivered a Claymore Kick to Kevin and then continued his march to the ring.
Drew cut a promo calling out the Fiend Bray Wyatt for a
match as Kevin Owens was helped to the back. During the Chosen One’s promo, the
WWE ring crew set up a steel cage for their upcoming match.
Wyatt accepted this challenge from the Scottish Psychopath and came out to the ring with his usual entrance and the match began with the typical red lighting.
The Fiend destroyed Drew McIntyre in this match and he pinned the former NXT Champion after delivering a Sister Abigail and taking him out with the Mandible Claw. You can check out some glimpses of their bout below:

Drew McIntyre was part of Team Raw for the men’s elimination match at Survivor Series while Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan in a singles match on the show. There is no word yet on what the company is planning for either of them after the PPV.
Bray Wyatt will remain the WWE Universal Champion.
‘The Fiend’ successfully retained the championship in his latest defense, which also marked his first one on a WWE special. He did so when he beat Daniel Bryan at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
Wyatt attacked Bryan in an interview segment to start their program three weeks on SmackDown. The company confirmed the matchup two weeks ago on SmackDown during a Miz TV segment.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bryan wasn’t intended to be the #1 contender and challenge Wyatt for the title at this show.
Instead, The Miz was rumored to challenge Wyatt. Originally, Bryan was set for the Triple Threat Match with NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles.
The idea would be to see Bryan beat Shinsuke Nakamura in order to add him to the match and become the Intercontinental Title. Bryan lost the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year to Kofi Kingston.
What are your thoughts on Bray Wyatt retaining the WWE Universal Title at the show? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
Bray Wyatt introduced a new design for the Universal title with a blue colored strap on the latest episode of SmackDown. However, a lot of fans have been critical about this change and they believe that the company should have introduced a new belt altogether.
The Universal Champion replied to this criticism from his Instagram account recently and posting a photo of his son Knash with the title belt, Wyatt told people to ‘shut the hell up’:

This week’s episode of SmackDown saw Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt setting up a Universal Championship match and these two will now face each other at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV on November 24.
Adam Cole’s Best Moments In NXT
WWE recently posted a new video from their YouTube channel
which takes a look at the current NXT Champion Adam Cole’s best moments in the
Black and Yellow brand.
The list features the top 5 moments of Cole’s NXT career and
it begins with the current champion defeating Matt Riddle in a singles match to
retain his NXT Championship during the October 2nd episode of the show earlier
this year.
Other moments included in the list are the Undisputed Era’s victory in the 2017 WarGames match, Cole’s WWE debut and more. You can check out the video below:
A new match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Survivor Series PPV.
On Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX, the company confirmed that Bray Wyatt will make his next title defense as Universal Champion against Daniel Bryan.
This match was expected as Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the match was on the books to take place at the show.
This will mark Bray Wyatt’s first title defense and Bryan’s first opportunity to become the Universal Champion. Bryan lost the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year to Kofi Kingston.
Wyatt attacked Bryan in an interview segment to start their program last week on SmackDown.
It’s been reported that original plans called for Bryan to be part of the Triple Threat Match with NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles at this show but plans changed.
WWE presents the Survivor Series pay-per-view event on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming days.
What are your thoughts on this match being added to the card? Sound off in the comment section.
Bray Wyatt got people talking last week when he teased changing the look of the WWE Universal Title. However, it might not be exactly what fans were hoping to see.
WWE aired a new Firefly Fun House segment on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Philadelphia, PA on FOX where he showed off the new design.
As seen below, the side plates have been changed to represent him as champion, which is done for all superstars who become the champion. The biggest change is that the leather strap is now blue.
When it was on Monday Night RAW from 2016 until late October, it featured a red leather strap to represent the color of the brand.
This might be a disappointment for fans who were expecting more as Wyatt recently tweeted out a picture of a custom made belt that he had made in 2017 when he was WWE Champion.
BeltFanDan on Twitter was the first to report that a new tag team belt design has been ready for months. Thus, fans could see those title belts debut soon on WWE television.
What are your thoughts on this new design of the title? Sound off in the comment section.
News on plans for Daniel Bryan and the next challenger for WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt has surfaced online.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a new match on the card that hasn’t been announced is indeed Wyatt, as The Fiend, defending the Universal Title against Bryan at WWE Survivor Series.
It was noted that the original belief was that Bryan was set for the Triple Threat Match with NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles. The idea would be to have Bryan beat Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Title in order to add him to the match.
This is why WWE started to tease a program involving Bryan, Nakamura, and Sami Zayn. Also, The Miz was rumored to challenge Wyatt for the title at Survivor Series, which would line up with advertisements for upcoming WWE house shows including Starrcade, but Bryan has been booked in that spot.
This comes after Wyatt attacked Bryan in an interview segment to start their program last week on SmackDown. It was added that Nakamura at this point is not scheduled to drop the title and has been put into this three-way match.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when WWE will announce Bryan vs. Wyatt for the Universal Title at Survivor Series but it’s likely to happen within the next two weeks on SmackDown.
A new episode of Bray Wyatt’s FireFly Fun House will air on the debut episode of WWE Backstage on FS1 tonight. It will be the first episode of the FireFly Fun House since Bray Wyatt won the Universal Championship from Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel.

The show will be hosted by Renee Young and Booker T. It will air on FS1 beginning at 11 PM est tonight. Shawn Michaels has also been booked for the show.
Fox also announced that Ryan Satin from Pro Wrestling Sheet will be joining the show.
“The Lesnar and Heyman thing where Lesnar goes to RAW, that was scheduled, but it was scheduled to be done on Tuesday to kick off the new Backstage weekly show at 11 o’clock,” Dave Meltzer said. The Lesnar announcement was reportedly made as a result of much of the roster being stuck in Saudi Arabia and changes having to be made to Smackdown as a result.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has addressed “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt’s recent Universal Championship victory. Wyatt defeated former champion Seth Rollins in the main event of WWE’s recent event Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the Reality of Wrestling podcast, Booker T spoke about what comes next for “The Fiend.”
“I said it on the kickoff show as we’re getting ready to go into a new era. Bray Wyatt is going to be not only the conqueror of the WWE, going from The Undertaker and then moving onto John Cena, and now The Fiend has arrived,” Booker said.
He continued, “Where does The Fiend go? He can’t just keep popping up and cutting the lights on and off. We need to put the rocket on him and send him straight to the moon and let everyone else chase. We need to find someone who can beat The Fiend.”
“You’re The Guy”
Booker T shared how anybody in the locker room could become “the guy” to step up next now that “The Fiend” has become established at the top of SmackDown’s roster. For him, however, he believes the next logical choice is Daniel Bryan.
“Everybody in the locker room is now in a position to put themselves in a place where anything can happen for them,” he stated. “They can get a phone call that says, ‘You’re the guy.’ Humberto Carrillo, he might be the guy. Somebody right now is in prime position to step up and have the fans look at them in a totally different way.”
“[Bryan] would have been the guy to actually been a fiend right now just because the fans would believe in him so much. We need somebody that the fans are gonna believe in 100 percent to get behind. There’s not a whole lot of guys I can think of that I could go to right now to put against The Fiend. I might have to bring The Undertaker back to make this thing work. You never know.”
Smackdown superstar Bray Wyatt is the new WWE Universal Champion. The Universal title has been the top championship on WWE RAW since its inception in the summer of 2016. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was also assigned to Smackdown until quitting the brand last night and promising to show up on RAW this Monday to confront Rey Mysterio.
It seems then that the two world titles in WWE have now switched brands with the Universal title being on Smackdown and the WWE title on RAW. This begs the question of if the Universal title will get a makeover and no longer feature the red-colored design synonymous with WWE RAW.
Last night, Bray Wyatt tweeted out a picture of a custom made belt he had made for him in 2017:
WWE has announced a number of matches and segments for this week’s episode of SmackDown which are expected to take the storylines forward and provide us answers to the questions that have risen after the Crown Jewel PPV.
The first match which has been announced will see The New Day getting a title shot. The trio will face the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Revival for their belts after they defeated the champs in eight-man tag team action last week.
The second match will be singles action with former World Champion Roman Reigns and ‘The King’ Baron Corbin squaring off against each other in the aftermath of the Team Hogan vs. Team Flair bout from Crown Jewel.
The third bout will then see Nikki Cross teaming up with Carmella & Dana Brooke to compete against the team of the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and her partners Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
Though probably the most interesting thing announced for the night is a Miz TV segment which will feature the new Universal Champion Bray Wyatt as the special guest and it will be The Fiend’s first appearance after the title win.
Wyatt won the Universal Championship from Seth Rollins during Crown Jewel but he is still part of the SmackDown roster and we’ll have to see if the company addresses this situation during the announced segment.
