Brian Cage says he’s “heartbroken” about the way things turned out for him Sunday night at Impact Wrestling’s rebellion pay-per-view.
Cage was victorious and defeated Johnny Impact to capture the Impact World Championship. It should have been the crowning moment of his career. Unfortunately, he sustained a back injury just minutes into the match. He was able to finish (and win) the contest, but was sent to the emergency room at a local medical facility as soon as the show went off the air.
The Machine has released a statement addressing the situation. Despite finally reaching the top of the mountain in Impact Wrestling, Brian Cage says the injury sours his victory and the whole situation is heart breaking.
Brian Cage Statement
“Not the way I wanted to end the night or the picture/post I thought I’d be making. Very disheartening and disappointed how it went down. This is a moment I’ve dreamt about and have waited, trained, sacrificed and busted my ass for. And to say it doesn’t break my heart and sour my victory would be lying. Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes from everyone. Will see where we go from here…..”
It’s an unfortunate setback for the Machine, who should be on top of the world today and celebrating. Hopefully his medical evaluation yields good news and he does not miss any ring time.
Impact returns to the Rebel Nightclub in Toronto tonight for the next round of television tapings. We will have Impact tapings results later tonight. We’ll also provide an update if they address Brian Cage’s health.
Unfortunately, it seems that new Impact Wrestling world champion, Brian Cage, suffered an injury during his matchup at the promotion’s Rebellion PPV.
Cage suffered the injury approximately three minutes into his match against defending champion, Johnny Impact. The spot occured as Johnny Impact delivered a Spanish Fly to Cage from off the ramp to the floor.
Despite this obvious setback, Cage was still able to to finish the match. He would then come face-to-face with a debuting Michael Elgin before being attacked post-match. Elgin would eventually hold the championship over his head, setting up a new contender for Cage going forward.
It’s reported that Cage had trouble walking backstage and was subsequently taken to the emergency room. There is no further update on his condition or the severity of the injury at this point in time.
Impact Wrestling addressed the situation on Twitter, announcing that Cage was rushed to the emergency room after his match with Johnny Impact. “More updates to come.”
We here at SEScoops hope the injury isn’t serious, and that the new Impact Wrestling world champion can get back to in-ring action as soon as possible.
Impact Wrestling presented Rebellion tonight from the Rebel Nightclub in Toronto, ON, Canada. The show featured two title changes and the surprising appearance of Michael Elgin following the conclusion of the Impact World Championship match.
Impact Wrestling Rebellion Results
Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams, Jake Crist, Aiden Prince, Cousin Jake, and Eddie Edwards – 6-pack scramble match
Cage had little time to soak in his victory, however, as Michael Elgin made his Impact Wrestling debut shortly after the conclusion to tonight’s world title match. Elgin let it be known he wants a shot at Cage and the Impact World Championship.
Rich Swann Defeats Sami Callihan, Retains X-Division Title
The story of Rich Swann vs Sami Callihan at Rebellion was that Swann would never quit. Not even when Callihan brought out a whole bunch of lego or gave him a piledriver on the guard rail.
Tessa Blanchard defeated Gail Kim tonight with her father Tully watching ringside. While Kim showed she hasn’t lost a step since her retirement from the ring, the buzzsaw Tessa Blanchard was too much for her on this night.
After the match, Blanchard showed Gail Kim respect and allowed her to bask in the admiration of her hometown fans.
At one point Johnny Impact had taken special guest referee Lance Storm out of the match. Taya attempted to get involved but got power-bombed for her trouble:
Cage becomes the 25th person to win the Impact World Championship and begins the 46th reign in the title’s lineage.
Johnny Impact finishes his title reign at 197 days. He defeated Austin Aries for the title at Bound for Glory in New York City’s Melrose Ballroom on October 14th, 2018.
Impact Wrestling Rebellion Results
Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams, Jake Crist, Aiden Prince, Cousin Jake, and Eddie Edwards – 6-pack scramble match
Impact Wrestling is building towards Rebellion on April 28th in Toronto. They presented a taped show from Windsor last night on Pursuit and Twitch.
The show was headlined by a mixed-gender tag team match pitting Impact World Champion Johnny Impact and Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie against Brian Cage and Jordynne Grace.
6 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 4/12:
Referee Screws Brian Cage Out Of Main Event Victory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdCbvmBNXoU
Main Event: Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeated Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace
Just as Brian Cage looked like he had the champion right where he wanted him in this week’s main event, referee Johnny Bravo delivered a chop block to his leg. This allowed Impact to hit the shining wizard and pick up the win. Cage attempted to get revenge on the referee after the match but a low blow by Taya allowed the champion to once again deliver a post-match beatdown to the #1 contender.
Johnny Bravo and Taya Valkyrie hugged after the match and the Impact World champion gave the crooked-referee a professional handshake. With Impact Wrestling’s senior referee in his back pocket, is there any stopping Johnny Impact now?
Gail Kim Costs Tessa Blanchard Match Against Madison Rayne
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCvJSqXhQLU
Madison Rayne defeated Tessa Blanchard
Tessa Blanchard was far too concerned with Gail Kim’s presence at ringside than she was on her opponent, Madison Rayne this week. When Kim prevented Blanchard from using a steel chair against Rayne, the distraction was all Rayne needed to score the pinfall with a roll-up. Rayne is now 3-0 against Blanchard in Impact.
It’s clear Blanchard can’t move forward in the Knockouts division until she gets rid of Gail Kim. They will meet one-on-one in Toronto at Rebellion.
As for Rayne, she’ll move on to face Taya Valkyrie in non-title action next week.
Moose Continues To Dominate the Rascalz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dChlmblCCZE
Moose defeated Wentz (the Rascalz)
Moose has proved his dominance over the ragtag troupe of the Rascalz in recent weeks. He has invaded their smoking circle and physically assaulted them and he’s defeated them in the ring as well.
This week, Moose opened up the broadcast by defeating Wentz in single’s action. Moose will take on Dez next week.
Su Yung Takes Out Rosemary & Kiera Hogan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyVIXnB6Ju8
Su Yung vs Rosemary – No Contest
Rosemary and Su Yung met in single’s action this week but the match was thrown out after a brawl at ringside involving the undead bridesmaids broke out. Kiera Hogan had come to ringside which resulted in her and Rosemary arguing (Rosemary doesn’t want Hogan involved). This led to the scuffle at ringside with the zombie brides.
Yung hit Rosemary with the mandible claw and forced Kiera Hogan to watch as she delivered Panic Switch to her rival.
Yung was then curiously announced as the winner of the match despite having done no such thing.
OVE Visit Baltimore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IBgY25-NaI
Sami Callihan, Madman Fulton, and the rest of OVE cut a promo from Rich Swann’s hometown of Baltimore this week. It was announced last week that Callihan and Swann will clash one-on-one at Rebellion for the X-Division championship. With the gigantic Fulton now backing him up, Callihan has never been more dangerous.
The North Have Arrived In The Tag Team Division
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxwpRZvi_hk
the North defeated El Reverso & Sheldon Jean
“All Ego” Ethan Page and “the Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander have joined forces in Impact Wrestling. The two Canadian wrestlers will wrestle under the team name “the North.”
All Ego” Ethan Page and “the Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander have joined forces in Impact Wrestling. The two Canadian wrestlers will wrestle under the team name “the North.”
Page and Alexander were victorious this week over a pair of local wrestlers. They aren’t the only new tag team in Impact, however, as vignettes for the Deaners have been airing in recent weeks as well.
Quick Results:
Moose beat Wentz (Rascalz)
Su Yung vs Rosemary – No Contest
the North defeated El Reverso & Sheldon Jean
Madison Rayne defeated Tessa Blanchard
Main Event: Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeated Brian Cage & Jordynne Grace
Impact Wrestling will present Rebellion from Toronto’s Rebel Nightclub on April 28th. The venue is where the promotion hosted Slammiversary last year.
Last night on Impact Wrestling, the promotion confirmed that Johnny Impact will once again look to defend his World Championship against Brian Cage. They will meet one-on-one at Rebellion.
A second title match between was scheduled for last week on Impact but never materialized. Killer Kross came out with a seemingly lifeless Johnny Impact draped over his shoulder before the match could begin. This was all a swerve to get Cage to reach, however, and when he did, Impact took him out of action with a cinder block.
In the meantime, Cage will look to get his revenge on Killer Kross next week in single’s action.
Johnny Impact vs Brian Cage – Impact World Championship – Rebellion PPV 4/28
Provided they don’t face each between now and then, Rebellion will be the 6th time the two have faced each other in single’s action.
The first occurred for Wrestle Circus on April 30th, 2017. Cage defeated “Johnny Mundo” to retain the WC Ringmaster Title. John Morrison then defeated Cage less than 2 months later at an AAW show just outside Chicago. Johnny then improved his record to 2-1 against Cage with the PCW title on the line that October. In
2018, Impact defeated Cage for the WSW Heavyweight title in Australia. Impact then improved his record to 4-1 against Cage by defeating him at Impact Wrestling Homecoming on 1/6 this year.
Impact Wrestling presented a taped show from Las Vegas last night. The promotion is building toward both their United We Stand PPV on April 4th and Rebellion on April 28th from Toronto.
Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 3/22:
Johnny Impact Will Face Brian Cage At Rebellion
Johnny Impact cut a promo this week explaining why he swerved Brian Cage last week. Impact made it appear as though he had been beaten up in the back by Killer Kross, only to then deliver a cinder block beat down to Cage and take him out of action.
Impact explained this week that the fans turned on him first by cheering for Cage over him. He’ll once again have to face Cage for the Impact World Championship, however, as a match between the two was made official for Rebellion.
Rich Swann Defeats Sami Callihan, Defends X-Division Championship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUN0UuCU7BU
Before this match could get going, we saw Willie Mack enter OVE’s locker room with a chair. Sounds were heard leading one to believe Mack took action to prevent OVE from interfering with the night’s main event between Callihan and Swann. Swann won the match with a roll-up but the action wasn’t over once the bell rang. A new member of OVE would come out to assist Callihan in a post-match beatdown.
Sawyer “Mad Man” Fulton Debuts As OVE’s Newest Member
With no other member of OVE available, “Mad Man” Fulton came out to assist Callihan. Fulton is formarly a member of Sanity in NXT and was also aligned with Sami Callihan in MLW as part of War Games last year. OVE is arguably stronger than ever now that Fulton is backing them up.
Tessa Blanchard Insists Gail Kim Quit Impact Wrestling
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOKehlUPdhs
Gail Kim has been suspended from Impact Wrestling due to her actions towards Tessa Blanchard as of late. Blanchard has insisted that Kim apologize to her and resign from her role with Impact Wrestling. We’ll get Kim’s response next week.
James Mitchell Did Not Give Rosemary Allie’s Soul
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UGNreJAs4A
This week, Rosemary voiced her concerns to James Mitchell regarding Allie’s condition. Rosemary won Allie back in the Dark War match but the Allie she received is still without a soul and not the bunny we all once knew. That soul was left in the undead realm.
Rosemary said she would return to the undead realm to get the bunny’s soul back. No word on if Allie’s soul also signed a contract with AEW or if the new promotion only signed her soulless meat-suit (Rosemary’s words).
LAX & The Lucha Bros Brawl In The Back
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOKehlUPdhs
The rivalry between the Lucha Bros and LAX has turned heated in recent weeks. What was once a friendly rivalry between teams aligned with Konnan has turned into a blood feud. We could get the next chapter in this rivalry written at Rebellion. This week the two teams brawled in the back.
Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards Continue To Work Well Together
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78F6bWFR3g8
Despite having opposing theories on how to wrestle, Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards have been stringing some wins together in the tag team division. This week they managed to beat KM and Fallah Bah.
As for KM & Fallah Bah, they had just won 2 in a row over Reno Scum. This loss sort of cuts their rise to the top of the division. Perhaps, it won’t be long until Edwards and Drake are in that position.
Moose Got Revenge On The Rascalz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOVY79Kl_xg
Moose was not pleased last week when the Rascalz made fun of him striking out with Mellisa Santos. In response, Moose invaded their smoking circle on last week’s episode and then defeated Trey in single’s action this week.
Willie Mack Trending In A Positive Direction
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isKbPZV_JZ4
Josh Matthews noted this week that Willie Mack is trending in a positive direction. Mack defeated Ethan Page with a stunner. As we approach United We Stand and Rebellion, big things could be on the horizon for Mack.
Ace Austin Picks Up Another Victory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlgqus76saE
Ace Austin defeated Damien Drake this week. He’s now 2-0 in Impact Wrestling after a successful Las Vegas TV tapings run. It looks like the X-Division is going to have to be on their toes with this guy coming up the rankings.
Quick Results:
Moose defeated Trey (Rascalz)
Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake defeated KM & Fallah Bah
Ace Austin defeated Damien Drake
Willie Mack defeats Ethan Page
X-Division Championship: Rich Swann (c) defeated Sami Callihan
Next Week:

Will Gail Kim Resign and Apologize To Tessa Blanchard?
Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) vs Jordynne Grace

Impact Wrestling tapes their television once a month over 2 or 3-night periods. So far in 2019, Impact has taped in Nashville and Las Vegas. This month, Impact travels back to Windsor, Ontario for 2 nights of tapings. Following Windsor, Impact presents Rebellion from Toronto’s Rebel nightclub. Although it has yet to be announced, the promotion will likely hold TV tapings from Toronto the next two nights as well.

In addition to having been ECW’s Philadelphia home, the 2300 Arena is currently used by both MLW and ROH. Major League Wrestling recently presented “SuperFight” from the venue on February 2nd.

Impact Wrestling Wrestling – 2300 Arena – Press Release
“This coming May, after United We Stand and after Rebellion, IMPACT Wrestling will be traveling to the World Famous 2300 Arena for 2 nights of IMPACT LIVE!” a company press release for the event reads. “This is your first chance to see your favorite Stars and Knockouts of IMPACT Wrestling in the same arena that made ECW a household name over 20 years ago. Tickets will be available Thursday, March 21st at 10AM ET at 2300Arena.Com.”
Last night, Impact Wrestling presented their first show from their Las Vegas tapings held earlier this week. The show aired live on Twitch and Pursuit. The Lucha Bros faced LAX in the main event.
Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 2/22:
Lucha Bros Defeated LAX – LAX Unmasked Lucha Bros
Pentagon Jr. and Fenix defeated LAX in what was supposed to be the final chapter of their rivalry. The 3-match series ends 2-1 in favor of the Lucha Bros.
After the match, Konnan congratulated the Lucha Bros and asked LAX to do the same. LAX was hesitant to do so but ultimately put out their hands to shake with their rivals. Perhaps remembering how LAX treated them after their first match, the Lucha Bros got up in LAX’s faces instead of shaking hands. LAX then attacked and would unmask both of the Lucha Bros, much to Konnan’s dismay. The show closed with LAX holding up Pentagon and Fenix’s masks.
Brian Cage & Johnny Impact Agree To Takeout Moose & Killer Kross
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3–BI4F2rd8
To kick things off last night, Johnny Impact announced he had defeated Cage, Kross, and Moose so he planned to move on to new competition. This didn’t sit well with Moose or Kross who both came out to confront Impact. A #1 contenders match between Moose and Kross was organized but resulted in a no-contest due to outside interference.
Later in the show, Impact presented Cage with a contract. The contract stated that if Cage helps Impact takeout Kross and Moose then Cage gets the next shot at his world title.
Tessa Blanchard Denied Title Match With Taya Valkyrie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiAuSpt9c1Q
We saw Tessa Blanchard in a backstage segment this week. She was storming out of management’s office, irate that she was denied another title match against Taya Valkyrie. Blanchard vowed she would get another shot at Taya one-way or another, however.
Later in the show, Blanchard would interrupt a match between Alisha Edwards and Delilah Doom and take out both Knockouts in an effort to make herself heard. Delilah Doom would later challenge Blanchard to a match next week.
A Dark War Is Coming
Rosemary has been haunting Dark Allie as of late. This week in a backstage segment, Father James Mitchell confronted Rosemary, claiming he is the one who owns Dark Allie. Rosemary asked Mitchell if they could cut a deal for Allie. Mitchell said he wants to bring Rosemary back to the underworld in exchange for Allie. Finally, the two sides decided to assemble their dark armies and battle it out in the ring. If Mitchell’s side wins, they get Rosemary. If Rosemary’s side win, she gets Allie.
Eddie Edwards Beats Eli Drake With A Wrestling Move
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULXcx7wQhYQ
Eddie Edwards didn’t need hardcore wrestling to beat Eli Drake. He attempted to use his kendo stick in the match but ultimately won with a roll-up pin on Drake, who had previously tried to use the kendo stick as well. Will this mark the return of the old Eddie Edwards?
Rich Swann Calls Sami Callihan “Family”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-XJ3ewVtZ4
Sami Callihan visited Rich Swann in the hospital this week. Callihan again tried to plead with Swann that Callihan is family and the only one really looking out for him. The nurses tried to get Callihan to leave, telling him only family is allowed to visit. Swann told the nurses that Callihan is family. Callihan then left an OVE shirt on Swann’s hospital bed as he left.
The Great Gama Singh Outsmoked The Rascalz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FU523INeQw
Impact Wrestling held their most recent tapings in Las Vegas. Then they head to Windsor in March followed by Toronto in April. What do all of these places have in common? Legal marijuana! While this should lead to the Rascalz advantage, they got outsmoked by the Great Gama Singh before their match with the Desi Hit Squad this week. Despite this, the Rascalz were still able to pull off the victory as they continue to rise up the rankings in Impact Wrestling.
The former Disco Inferno competed in the early days of TNA wrestling and was recently hired back to the promotion by Don Callis. His hiring occurred on an episode of Konnan’s “Keepin’ it 100” podcast.
Gilbertti showed up for work but was given faulty directions to the management office and ended up locked out of the building.
Quick Results:
Moose vs Killer Kross – no contest
The Rascalz defeated the Desi Hit Squad
Eddie Edwards defeated Eli Drake
Alisha Edwards vs Delilah Doom – No Contest (Blanchard interfered)
Impact Tag Team Championships
The Lucha Bros (c) defeated LAX
Next week:
Delilah Doom vs Tessa Blanchard
Jake Crist vs Willie Mack
Johnny Impact & Brian Cage vs Moose & Killer Kross
Impact Wrestling presented “UnCaged” a special taped show from Mexico City, Mexico. The Knockouts and Impact World Championship were on the line last night. Team AAA would also face Team Impact in a 4-on-4 elimination tag match.
Here are 7 Takeaways from Impact Wrestling 2/15:
Johnny Impact Retained The Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact escaped from Mexico still the Impact World Championship. Much like when he left Nashville with the title, however, he still has Brian Cage gunning for him.
This match was changed from a one-on-one match between Impact and Cage after Moose & Killer Kross defeated them both in a tag match recently. The finish of the match came when Cage hit Kross with Drill Claw and Impact hit Starship Pain on Moose. Impact was able to pin Moose quicker than Cage could do the same to Killer Kross, so Johnny retains.
Between how things ended at Homecoming in Nashville and UnCaged in Mexico City, Brian Cage likely still feels entitled to a one-on-one rematch with the champ.
Taya Valkyrie Retained Her Championship Against Tessa Blanchard In A Mexico City Street Fight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcsazvgXu5Y
Taya Valkyrie successfully defended her Knockouts Championship against Tessa Blanchard in a street fight this week. The gives Taya a 3-1 lead in the series between the two, albeit one victory came via DQ and her second was largely due to Gail Kim.
This week, Valkyrie picked up the victory with a double foot-stomp through the table after a 20-minute fight to start this week’s show.
As for Blanchard, she’s lost 3 straight to Valkyrie. She might need to string together a few wins before getting another shot at the title.
Tessa Blanchard Pays Homage To 4 Horsemen/ Taya Valkyrie To Perros Del Mal
Tessa Blanchard paid homage to Tully Blanchard in her street fight with Taya Valkyrie this week. Blanchard wore her father’s old 4 Horsemen shirt from back in the day. She also flashed the four-finger hand-signal to the camera. It was her first match back from suspension as well.
In similar fashion, Valkyrie wore a “Perros Del Mal” t-shirt, the faction she had previously been aligned with while in AAA. Blanchard would disrespect the shirt later in the match by spitting on it.
Team AAA Wins The World Cup
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXMz1lN7WO0
The luchadors of AAA picked up the victory over Team Impact last night. The hometown favorites won largely because Team Impact imploded. Eddie Edwards caused Eli Drake to get eliminated early and then Drake came back to cause Edwards’ elimination to end the match as well.
With Edwards and Psycho Clown as the final two left in the match, Eli Drake returned to the ring area and clocked Edwards with a kendo stick. Psycho Clown rolled up Edwards and got the win for his team.
It was later announced that Edwards will face Drake next week from Las Vegas.
Rich Swann Turned Down His Last Chance To Join OVE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDcqqTQvUjo
It was slipped in without much fanfare but Josh Mathews revealed more about why Callihan wants Swann to join OVE. He said that Swann told him that Callihan wants him in OVE because he has a good credit score and can help rent cars for the faction.
Regardless of the reasons why, Callihan gave Swann his “last chance” to join OVE this week. Swann opted to throw the shirt back in Callihan’s face, kickstarting a fight between the two. The X-Division champ initially got the upper-hand in the skirmish but a thumb to the eyes would reverse the momentum. Callihan then gave Swann a piledriver on the stage area before throwing him off the stage and through a table.
LAX Vs Lucha Bros Rematch – Win, Lose, Or Draw It’s Over
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvbBParC1_8
LAX was shown with Konnan in a backstage segment this week. He told Santana & Ortiz he would go get a rematch for the titles but win, lose, or draw, the next match ends the rivalry between the two teams.
Willie Mack Defeated “All Ego” Ethan Page
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc8MujYyc5I
Ethan Page has lost his mentor. Matt Sydal’s contract with the company ran up and now Page has been left alone to fend for himself in the X-Division. He was in tough this week against the NWA’s National Champion, Willie Mack. Ultimately, Mack would hit the Stunner for the win.
Quick Results:
Knockouts Championship Street Fight
Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Tessa Blanchard
Willie Mack defeated Ethan Page

Team AAA defeated Team Impact
Puma King eliminated Eli Drake
Fallah Bah eliminated Vikingo

Here are 9 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 2/1:
Moose Pinned Johnny Impact In Tag Team Main Event
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYdnrFz0y4c
Johnny Impact and Brian Cage were forced to team up this week to take on Killer Kross and Moose. The two will face each other in two weeks at UnCaged for the world title. Impact accidentally hit Cage with a kick during the closing moments of the match. As Cage prepared to respond, Moose hit Impact with a spear and pinned him.
Don Callis noted on commentary that the champion might have spread himself too thin, leading to recent losses. Frustration from the fan reaction to how he won at Homecoming might also play a role in what Callis sees as a character change in the champion.
Lucha Bros vs LAX Rematch In 2 Weeks At UnCaged
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y13kM9w1nsc&t=15s
Impact Wrestling kicked off last night’s episode with a trios match. The Lucha Bros and LAX were both paired with a luchador from AAA recommended by Konnan. Daga teamed with LAX and Taurus teamed with the Lucha Bros. After the Lucha Bros picked up the win they challenged LAX to a rematch from Homecoming with the tiles once again on the line. LAX agreed and that match will take place in two weeks at UnCaged.
Rosemary Continues To Haunt Dark Allie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMcsjx0D37I&t=8s
Kiera Hogan and Jordynne Grace defeated Dark Allie and Su Yung in tag team action this week. Rosemary magically appeared on the ring apron in place of Yung much like she has been doing in Allie’s matches as of late. The dark sorcery used by Rosemary caused the distraction allowing Kiera Hogan to hit a fisherman suplex on Allie for the win.
Next PPV Will Be Rebellion – April 28th – Toronto
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv_we_u0V6w
Impact Wrestling announced this week they will return to Toronto for the April 28th Rebellion PPV. They will be back in Rebel Nightclub, the home of Slammiversary last summer.
Scarlett Bordeaux Is Training Real Hard For Her Debut
Previously, Scarlett Bordeaux has demonstrated a propensity to eat bananas whole during her training videos. This week the “10 amongst 5s” built anticipation towards her debut in the Knockouts division by sparring with Bobo by a pool.
Tessa Blanchard’s suspension for attacking a production assistant and Gail Kim in the back recently will be lifted for the February 15th UnCaged episode. A video she posted directed at Taya on social media was played. Will Blanchard get a rematch right away against Taya, however? We might have to wait until UnCaged to find out.
Will The Old Eddie Edwards Return?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpvO_fAoOVA
Eli Drake has been lobbying for the old Eddie Edwards to return. He says the hardcore version of Edwards has fallen out of the world title picture but the old Eddie Edwards was a world champion. This week the two teamed up and defeated the Rascalz. Edwards attempted to use his kendo stick but the referee prevented him. Then with the ref still dealing with Edwards, Drake used the kendo stick on Dez, hit Gravy Train and picked up the win for his team.
Edwards seemed a little confused after the match about the tactics his partner used.
World Cup 2019 Preview
Psycho Clown defeated Fallah Bah this week. The member of the famed luchador clown family will be apart of the AAA team which takes on the Impact Wrestling team in the 2019 World Cup at Uncaged. Psycho Clown will team up with Vikingo, Puma King, and Aerostar at Uncaged. Sami Callihan, Eli Drake, Eddie Edwards, and Fallah Bah will make up Team Impact.
Rich Swann Says What Sami Callihan Wants Isn’t Family
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PbkVjOVIzA
Callihan tried to tell Rich Swann that he is his real family. Swann was homeless at 18 with no family and no place to go. Callihan opened up his home to Swann but Swann learned a little too much about who exactly Callihan is. Swann says Callihan uses people for his advantage and just wants him to be the 3rd guy watching his back. Swann said what Callihan wants isn’t family.
Quick Results:
The Lucha Bros & Taurus defeated LAX & Daga
Kiera Hogan & Jordynne Grace defeated Dark Allie & Su Yung
Eddie Edwards & Eli Drake defeated The Rascalz (Dez & Wentz)
Psycho Clown defeated Fallah Bah
Moose & Killer Kross defeated Johnny Impact & Brain Cage
Impact Wrestling presented their second episode on Pursuit last night. The show was also live-streamed on Twitch. Impact was back in the Asylum this week but next week’s episode will be the first from their Mexico tapings held last week.
Here are 10 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 1/18:
LAX Antagonized The Lucha Bros
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mo-9oC7lRQ
In the final moments of Impact Wrestling this week, members of LAX and the Lucha Bros were seen backstage. Santana and Ortiz had just defeated the Crist brothers in the main event when they were approached by Pentagon and Fenix. LAX told the brothers if they ever wanted another beating they could come get it which caused Konnan to react angrily. It seems perhaps not all was settled between these two teams at Homecoming.
Brian Cage Wants His Title Rematch/Not Pleased Johnny Impact Is Defending Against Killer Kross
Brian Cage opened up this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling by attacking KM and Caleb Konley, who was wrestling in the opener.
Cage feels he was robbed of the title at Homecoming and is not happy about Johnny Impact putting the title on the line against Killer Kross next week before him. Cage promised he would be there in Mexico watching the match. When Johnny Impact came out to answer him, however, Killer Kross and Moose jumped him.
A match between Moose and Brian Cage was made for later in the night.
Tessa Blanchard’s Attempted Murder Of Gail Kim
Tessa Blanchard assaulted several people in the back this week before turning her attention to Gail Kim. She strangled the Hall-of-Famer with a set of cords, the consequence of Kim’s refereeing at Homecoming costing her the belt.
Blanchard was promptly suspended by Scott D’Amore for her actions.
Gail Kim was on this week’s Impact Press Pass. I had the chance to ask her about the Knockouts division and she also commented on possibly coming out of retirement for one more match.
OVE Want Rich Swann To “Come Home”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0cauwhCcgo
Sami Callihan refers to Rich Swann as “Family”. He’s said to Swann it’s time to come home. We’ve heard Swann tell Willie Mack that messing with Sami Callihan isn’t a good idea, though we know little else about their previous relationship, other than they’ve wrestled a bunch on the independents.
Swann defeated Trey from the Rascalz this week. After the match, however, the members of OVE offered him a shirt and a spot in their faction. LAX came out before Swann could really respond, however, and the main event between OVE and LAX began.
Trey Miguel Didn’t Win Homecoming King
.@TheTreyMiguel is upset that he didn't win Homecoming king (which wasn't an actual thing) but he has Rich Swann TONIGHT! #IMPACT @DezmondXavier @zachary_wentz
In a scene reminiscent of “That 70s Show” (surprisingly good upon rewatching), the Rascalz got some things off their chest this week. Trey was upset that despite his suit and crown, he didn’t win Homecoming King. Evidently, Homecoming King is not even a thing.
Zachary and Dezmond lamented over their loss to the Lucha Bros last week but Trey quickly found a way to end the conversation.
Jordynne Grace Defeated Dark Allie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfkIHmq38h8
Allie took her first loss since returning from the underworld this week. She lost to the impressive Jordynne Grace, who continues her undefeated streak in Impact Wrestling. She got the win with something of a pump-handle driver. Callis mentioned that Grace just dominated Allie.
Su Yung got up on the ring apron during the match and tried to cause a distraction. Perhaps, a Jordynne Grace vs Su Yung clash is not long off. Should Grace get the win there, it’s likely she’ll be in the Knockouts title picture sooner rather than later.
Rosemary Confronts Dark Allie
After Grace defeated Allie, Su Yung entered the ring and outstretched her hand to Allie. The lights went off, however, and when they came back Su Yung had turned into Rosemary. Allie bolted from the ring.
The commentary team couldn’t figure out what happened to Su Yung.
Brian Cage Defeated Moose
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg3AsCRbzX8
Brian Cage picked up a win over Moose tonight in a bout between two wrestlers who have been at the top of the Impact roster for the last year. Moose tried to bring a chair into the ring but Cage wasn’t deterred. He ducked the chair shot, hit a knee to the face, and then Drill Claw for the win.
Moose has picked up a few losses in a row recently after also having lost to Eddie Edwards at Homecoming as well.
Eli Drake Says Eddie Edwards Is “A Hardcore Loser”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUFzKAeK4NA
Eddie Edwards’ match with Ethan Page was evidently not hardcore enough for the Boston native. He got himself disqualified after hitting his opponent with a kendo stick. Eli Drake, who has spoken out against hardcore wrestling, cut a promo on Edwards after the match. He said Edwards just needs to put on a bit more weight and he’d look just like Tommy Dreamer. Drake said that ever since Edwards went “hardcore” he’s fallen out of the title scene and it’s time for the old Eddie Edwards to come back.
The Winner Of The Smoke Show’s Talent Search Is…Scarlett Bordeaux
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbKfmmjXpjA
Scarlett Bordeaux announced she was the winner of her global talent search. While this news was a little anti-climactic, Bordeaux also announced that she’s going to start competing in the ring, which more than makes up for her lack of a talent search winner. Bordeaux is about to become a competing member of the Knockouts division, which should add to an already deep division.

Ultimate X will kick things off!
X-Division Championship Ultimate X Match Rich Swann vs Trey Miguel vs Jake Crist vs Ethan Page
Rich Swann has won the X-Division championship by winning the return match of Ultimate X. It was a match with plenty of high-spots as you would expect. It even started off with all 4 climbing the ropes above the ring, only to hurricanrana each other off.
Ethan Page speared Jake Crist off the ropes which left Swann and Trey Miguel all alone in the ring. Swann was able to beat Miguel to the belt and ended up catching the falling title with his legs in what was likely not exactly the planned finish.
2. Allie & Su Yung vs Kiera Hogan & Jordynne Grace
Rosemary returns! And perhaps she has the ability to return Dark Allie’s soul…
Jordynne Grace looked to have this match under control after slamming both Su Yung and Allie at the same time but things went sour rather fast after. Su Yung blew poison mist in the face of Grace, leaving Kiera Hogan alone in the ring. Allie put on the gross glove Yung carries around and locked in the mandible claw on Hogan for the win.
Winners: Dark Allie & Su Yung
After the match, Yung motioned for the undead bridesmaids to bring the coffin to the ring. When they did, however, Rosemary came out of it. Rosemary attacked the undead brides and then threw Su Yung into them. She then walked into the ring and looked to place her hand over Allie, only Allie backed out of the ring before she could.
.@AllieImpact flees from her former best friend @WeAreRosemary.
Impact has promised an edgier product when they debut on Pursuit next week. That could mean more hardcore wrestling like we saw tonight between Eddie Edwards and Moose. Edwards attacked his rival before the match and things went from there.
They brawled all throughout the Asylum. Eventually, Edwards got control by backdropping Moose on top of a guardrail. Then he pulled out Kenny, his Singapore cane. Evidently, Eddie wasn’t caning Moose good enough because Alisha Edwards ran to the ring to show him how. She hit Moose several times before giving the cane back to Edwards to finish the job. Edwards then gave Moose the DDT for the win.
It took quite a bit, but Sami Callihan defeated Willie Mack here. Mack looked to have Callihan beat after giving him the Stunner but Callihan got his foot to barely touch the rope. Callihan then distracted the referee while Dave Crist prevented Mack from jumping off the top rope. Callihan gave him a Death Valley Driver off the top but only got a 1-count. Mack then kicked out of lariat at a 1 as well. Eventually, however, Callihan gave him the Cactus Driver and got the 3-count.
Eli Drake has won Monster’s Ball. He defeated Abyss tonight after bashing him over the head several times with a paddle. This was a match which involved Drake being choke-slammed into thumbtacks, suplex’ed through tables, and several other big spots. Drake at one point attempted to use zip-ties to bound Abyss’ hands together but wasn’t able to do it. So instead, he just started hammering Abyss with a chair several times in the back instead.
6. Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix)
After a back and forth match, full of double team combinations, the Lucha Bros hit their spiked piledriver and looked like they were going to win. The pin was broken up at the last second, however. Then LAX hit Street Sweeper on Pentagon but Fenix broke up the pin at the last moment.
LAX then hit a crazy string of double team moves on Fenix and got the pin.
Winners and Still Champions: LAX
After the match, Konnan hit the ring. He cut a promo saying he was wrong and that both teams can still be allies after going to war. Konnan then praised the match and the four men celebrated in the ring.
7. Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie
Taya Valkyrie is the new Impact Knockouts champion. She defeated Tessa Blanchard here in the 3rd bout of her trilogy with Tessa Blanchard. The match was not without a tremendous amount of controversy, however.
After several near-falls, Tessa Blanchard and Gail Kim became significantly annoyed with one another. Kim then gave Blanchard the Eat Defeat which allowed Taya to hit the Road to Valhalla for the victory.
8. Impact World Championship
Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage
Johnny Impact is still the Impact World champion but the match was not without controversy. Cage had seemingly hit Johnny with everything in his offensive arsenal but Johnny kicked out after each move.
Members of the cast of Survivor were at ringside and ended up getting into a shoving contest with Cage. This led to the referee leaving the ring to deal with them. Cage then hit Drill Claw but there was no referee for the count. When the referee finally did come to, Johnny was able to kick out before 3.
Things didn’t seem to go quite as planned at the finish of the match as both Cage and Impact spilled from the top rope. After they fell, Impact pinned Cage to retain his title.
Brian Cage has a chance to win the Impact Wrestling World championship tonight. He’ll face the current champion, Johnny Impact, tonight at the Homecoming PPV in Nashville.
Cage was a guest on Impact Wrestling’s Press Pass recently to hype the show. At the same time, Cage mentioned why it is he chose to sign with Impact Wrestling.
“Unfortunately, while everyone’s singing my praises, no one has given me the opportunity,” Cage said on other promotions who have shown interest in him. ” (Lucha) Underground definitely got me on the map and Impact offered me a deal and led the way. They gave me the ball and gave me an opportunity and I took it and ran with it.”
“Hats off to them and I’m trying to live up to my end of the bargain,” Cage continued. “So far, so good. I’ve enjoyed my time there and looking forward to what this year has to bring and hopefully start it off as world champion.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHYndfb9qGM
Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage – Impact World Championship – Homecoming PPV – January 6th, 2019
Cage then turned his attention to his Homecoming opponent, Johnny Impact.
“He can have his Survivor buddies in the crowd,” stated Cage. “I don’t think that’s going to affect me or give him any advantage. It didn’t help him win Survivor, so why would it help him win the match?”
Also a potential factor tonight is Killer Kross. Johnny’s former ally in Mexico has been saying the champion needs him watching his back in order to get past Cage tonight.
Impact Wrestling will present Homecoming this Sunday from Nashville, TN. The promotion has released the opening video for the PPV on their YouTube channel.

The three-hour extravaganza kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET and will be distributed on cable, satellite and digital pay-per-view, including DISH, DirecTV, iN Demand, Vubiquity, Rogers, Bell, Shaw and Sasktel across North America, and streaming live globally exclusively on the FITE.tv app.”
The last episode of Impact Wrestling on POP TV aired last night. It was also the go-home show for Sunday’s Homecoming PPV. Impact has promised an edgier product to go along with the move to a network more suited for it.
8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 1/3:
Johnny Impact and Brian Cage Square Off Before Homecoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8SPepgPqck
The Lucha Bros defeated Johnny Impact and Brian Cage
In the night’s main event, Pentagon and Fenix defeated the World Champion and #1 contender. Following the match, it appeared as though Cage and Impact were going to agree to settle things in Nashville but Johnny appeared to change his mind just as Cage went to leave. The champion motioned for Cage not to leave the ring and the two brawled through security to end the show.
Raven & Tommy Dreamer United Against Eli Drake
Eli Drake cut a promo this week hyping his Monster’s Ball match with Abyss on Sunday. Tommy Dreamer came out to attack Drake but just as he was going to stomp his head into a chair, the lights went out. When they came back on Raven was in the ring. The two long-time enemies stared each other down before teaming up to beat up Drake. Raven and Dreamer might have a vested interest in Abyss vs Drake this Sunday.
There Are No Friends In War Between LAX and Lucha Bros
This is passion. This is fire. This is what the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles mean to @Ortiz5150 and @SantanaLAX.
The Lucha Bros and LAX each cut backstage promos this week about their Impact tag-team championship match at Homecoming. LAX said they will prove they can win without Konnan, who has said he won’t’ be in the corner for the match.
Pentagon and Fenix said backstage that the two teams aren’t allies and it will not be a friendly match in Nashville.
Sami Callihan Vs Willie Mack Added To Homecoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PAHGGVl760
Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz defeated Sami Callihan, Dave Crist, Jake Crist, Matt Sydal & Ethan Page
Sami Callihan and OVE are the reason Willie Mack isn’t wrestling for the X-Division Championship at Homecoming. This week Callihan again antagonized Mack by attacking him after the Rascalz, Mack and Rich Swann defeated OVE, Ethan Page, and Matt Sydal.
4 of the wrestlers in this match, Jake Crist, Ethan Page, Swann, and Trey, will compete in the Ultimate X match on Sunday. Meanwhile, after Callihan and OVE attacked Mack after the match, Impact officials made the match between Callihan and Mack official for Sunday.
Allie & Su Yung vs Kiera Hogan & Jordynn Grace Added To Homecoming
Allie defeated Kiera Hogan
Dark Allie defeated her old ally, Kiera Hogan, in single’s competition this week. After the match, Allie and Su Yung continued the beat down on Hogan until Jordynne Grace made the save. Later in the show, a tag match featuring the four involved was made official for Homecoming.
Killer Kross Put Trevor Lee Out Of The Territory
Killer Kross defeated Trevor Lee
Earlier in the show, Trevor Lee was seen telling management he was sick of sitting on the sidelines. Impact management booked him in a match with Killer Kross as a result. Kross not only beat Trevor Lee, he then sent him out of the territory by smashing a cinder block over his head.
Kross has been trying to tell Johnny Impact as of late that Johnny needs to have Kross watch his back. It’s possible Kross decides to get involved in the main event of Homecoming.
Not match happened this week in the Knockouts division. The rivalry between Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie will see match #3 take place on Sunday. Blanchard won the first match, albeit there was some controversy as the referee had been out of position after Valkyrie hit the Road to Valhalla. Blanchard was then DQ’ed in the rematch. With Gail Kim assigned as the special referee for this one, the Knockouts title match at Homecoming could steal the show.
Scarlett Bordeaux Scouts KM & Fallah Bah
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12daRQ3HbXU
Scarlett Bordeaux continued her talent search this week as well. She seemed somewhat impressed with the team of KM and Fallah Bah, who were victorious over the Desi Hit Squad this week.
Quick Results:
Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz defeated Sami Callihan, Dave Crist, Jake Crist, Matt Sydal & Ethan Page

Allie defeated Kiera Hogan
Killer Kross defeated Trevor Lee
Fenix and Pentagon defeated Brian Cage and Johnny Impact

Knockouts Championship
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs Taya Valkyrie
X-Division Championship Ultimate X Match
Rich Swann vs Trey Miguel vs Jake Crist vs Ethan Page
Impact Tag Team Championships
LAX (c) vs The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix)
Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie defeated Moose & Tessa Blanchard
Earlier at the Las Vegas tapings, Taya Valkyrie demonstrated a new submission hold. This week on Impact, she was able to make the Knockouts Champion tap to it during the main event. If that happens at Homecoming, Taya will be the new champ.
After the match, Moose and Blanchard attacked the victors but various run-ins would prevent much damage from taking place.
Killer Kross Saves Taya/Brian Cage Saves Johnny Impact
Strange and strained alliances were on display in Impact’s closing moments this week. Killer Kross has been offering to watch Johnny Impact’s back in recent weeks. He made the save for Taya this week, preventing Tessa Blanchard from hitting Taya with a chair. Moose seemed to be confused by Kross’ actions, as the two have been aligned for much of the year. Before Moose and Kross could do anything further, however, Brian Cage hit the ring and took them both out.
Johnny Impact and Brian Cage stared each other down to end the show.
Raven (!!!) Helps Eddie Edwards Escape From Mental Institution
Another ECW veteran gave advice to Eddie Edwards this week. While Tommy Dreamer warned Edwards not to shorten his career trying to get revenge on Sami Callihan, Raven told Edwards he hasn’t gone far enough in his feud with Moose. Then Raven stole a key card from an orderly and passed it to Edwards, allowing him to escape Shady Acres Insane Asylum.
A former NWA World Heavyweight Champion while with TNA Wrestling, Raven is often credited with being one of the most unique minds in the history of wrestling. He said he voluntarily checks himself into Shady Acres ever so often.
Jake Crist Qualifies For Ultimate X
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c37SZ3r4Vc0
Jake Crist defeated Willie Mack – Ultimate X Qualifier
Jake Crist is going to Homecoming after defeating Willie Mack in the opener this week. Mack looked as though he had the match going his way when Sami Callihan got involved. Crist picked up the upset win after Mack was pulled off the top rope by Callihan and Crist gave him a cutter and got the pin.
Later, Mack was seen speaking to Rich Swann about wanting to get revenge on OVE. Swann, who has been in CZW wars with Callihan, warned Mack that they might not want to go there with OVE.
Ethan Page Qualifies For Ultimate X
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PamGgKjid9Q
Ethan Page defeated Matt Sydal – Ultimate X Qualifier
The second of two upsets in Ultimate X Qualifying matches came when Ethan Page defeated his mentor, Matt Sydal. The two exchanged multiple pinning combinations in a row when Page was able to keep Sydal’s shoulders down for the 3.
Sydal was a good sport about the loss, even raising Page’s hand after.
Dark Allie Is Really Dark
Allie defeated Heather Monroe
Last week, Kiera Hogan made an emotional plea for the good Allie to return. Hogan didn’t get what she wanted this week, however. Allie defeated Heather Monroe while Su Yung watched ominously on the outside.
After the match, Allie continued the attack on Monroe using Su Yung’s mandible claw type move. This brought out Hogan who tried to talk some sense into Allie. Although it looked as though Allie had come back to her senses, she suddenly struck Hogan. Yung then joined the melee and they continued the beatdown on Hogan to end the segment.
Monster’s Ball Match Booked For Homecoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG6e5PdmIiM
Eli Drake claimed this week that he’s dropped his lawsuit against Impact Wrestling. Despite this, he claims he is being punished by the promotion as he has now been booked in a Monsters Ball match against Abyss at Homecoming.
Konnan Says It Can Never Be The Same Between Lucha Bros and LAX
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JGEd5s53ac
Konnan didn’t want LAX to defend the belts against Pentagon and Fenix at Homecoming but LAX put out the challenge anyway. The two teams were seen arguing in the back this week, leading Konnan to say this is what he had been worried about.
Scarlett Bordeaux Joins The Rascalz Session
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns2TlITM3eA
Scarlett Bordeaux joined the Rascalz smoking session this week. The trio seemed a little confused as to how she got there. Regardless, Bordeaux let them know she was impressed with their match last week and then reminded everyone about her ongoing global talent search.
Zachary Wentz seemed concerned that Bordeaux would attract the presence of bears.
The Desi Hit Squad Back In The Win Column
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgvnlFbjfHQ
The Desi Hit Squad defeated Damien Drake and Manny Lemons
The Desi Hit Squad were back in action this week. They defeated a pair of local competitors with much ease. Callis and Mathews talked about the depth of the tag team-team division which has been developing as of late. With the addition of the Rascalz, a new Desi Hit Squad team, the Lucha Bros and LAX, the tag division is pretty stacked at the moment.
Quick Results:
Ultimate X Qualifier
Jake Crist defeated Willie Mack
Allie defeated Heather Monroe
The Desi Hit Squad defeated Damien Drake and Manny Lemons

During a recent Bar Wrestling event, Lucha Underground wrestler Brian Cage proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Santos.
The two met in 2014 whilst working for Lucha Underground when the fledgling company was just starting out.
Cage, who claims to not be a man but a “machine,” popped the question during the show. It was Melissa Santos who broke the news via her own social media accounts:
“Yeah I’ll marry u,” she said in a direct message on her Instagram.
She had a little more to say about the proposal on Twitter, where she wrote: “I said yes Officially, to that big booty father of my child. Baby daddy wins. Love wins.”
I said yes Officially, to that big booty father of my child. ? Baby daddy wins. Love wins. https://t.co/xWLwkZNESP
The couple welcomed the birth of their first child — a baby daughter named Skylar — earlier this year.
Lucha Underground
Melissa Santos has been a mainstay on Lucha Underground whilst its been on the air. Starting out as a ring-announcer, she has since segued into a character-driven role, most recently being a part of a storyline that included Rey Fenix, El Dragon Azteca Jr. and Aero Star.
Brian Cage was a main event player in Lucha Underground, tearing through the division and winning the Gauntlet of the Gods during Season 3 of the show before losing it to Mil Muertes during Ultima Lucha Tres. He has since gone on to find great indie success whilst also wrestling for Impact Wrestling.
Big congratulations to the happy couple on their engagement.
Impact Wrestling presented their 3rd episode from the Las Vegas tapings last night. Last week, however, the promotion only aired one new match with the rest having been flashbacks to previous Thanksgiving specials.
This week, the promotion was back to building towards Homecoming on January 6th, 2019 in Nashville.
Here are 10 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 11/29:
Two weeks ago on Impact, LAX told Konnan they want to defend their belts against Pentagon and Fenix. Konnan said he didn’t like that match just yet but LAX challenged the Lucha Bros this week anyway.
Pentagon and Fenix had just defeated Willie Mack and Rich Swann to open the show when LAX came out and challenged them. The title match was later made official for Homecoming.
Later in the show, Konnan told LAX that once the two teams went head-to-head there would be no turning back, and no being friends after and that’s why he didn’t want the match to happen yet.
Killer Kross Is Still Trying To Protect Johnny Impact
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyQwX1Wo07Y
Killer Kross wants to help Johnny Impact. Kross again offered to help Johnny “do whatever it takes” to beat Brian Cage at Homecoming this week. It sounds as though Kross is trying to bring out a different side of Johnny, one he believes is more capable of beating someone like Brian Cage.
One has to wonder if Kross is going to take it upon himself to influence what happens between Cage and Johnny at Homecoming.
Eli Drake Goes Hardcore On Tommy Dreamer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IitXAhkUMv4
Eli Drake defeated Tommy Dreamer – No DQ MATCH
Eli Drake wants to rid Impact Wrestling of hardcore matches and wrestlers like Tommy Dreamer. Ironically, Dreamer actually beat Drake via count-out in the night’s main event, only for the match to be re-started as a No DQ match by Impact management. Once playing under Tommy’s rules, Drake managed to get the victory.
Dreamer kicked out from the Gravy Train, the first person in Impact to do so. This left Drake needing to take things a step farther to get the win in last night’s main event. He wrapped a steel chair around Dreamer’s head and bashed it with a boat ore before pinning him for the win.
Taya Valkyrie Adds A Submission To Her Arsenal
Taya Valkyrie defeated Ray Lyn
At Bound For Glory, Tessa Blanchard needed to break out a new move to defeat Taya Valkyrie. After Taya kicked out from the Buzzsaw DDT, Blanchard broke out “Magnum”, a top rope codebreaker named after her step-father, Magnum TA.
This week Taya broke out a new submission move to get the win over Ray Lyn. It wasn’t the only new wrinkle added to the Knockouts title match at Homecoming, however, as Tessa Blanchard’s conflict with Impact referees continues.
Tessa Blanchard Will Strangle Referees/Gail Kim Does Not Condone
Taya vs Tessa II at Final Hour ended when Blanchard punched the referee to get purposely disqualified. The referee then visited Blanchard in the back this week and explained that in the ring, he stands for law and order. When Blanchard hit the ring after Taya’s match this week, she ended up punching the referee yet again. She would continue to strangle him until his face was flush red.
Impact Hall-of-Famer, Gail Kim, had to come out and pry Blanchard off of the referee. Management may have to take action against the Knockouts Champion. Will Gail Kim play a further role in the Tessa v Taya rivalry?
Eddie Edwards Is Staying At Shady Acres
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ6513ph24k&t=7s
Eddie Edwards is staying at a mental institution which shares the same name as the one from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Somehow, his doctors seemed to think it was a good idea to allow Alisha Edwards to berate him for several moments before then allowing Moose to read to him from his own children’s book.
Moose mentioned Edwards’ book didn’t mention Moose power-bombing him on the ramp or any of the other beatings he’s given him. Edwards will likely be released from Shady Acres before Homecoming, and we’ll possibly see him and Moose renew their rivalry then.
Kiera Hogan Pleas For The Old Allie To Come Back
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KiMJO8V6MY
A new Allie has returned from the undead realm, one now aligned with James Mitchell and Su Yung. This week Kiera Hogan made a plea for the good Allie to return. Hogan believes the darkness hasn’t fully consumed Allie. She said Allie could have really hurt her two weeks ago but didn’t. To Hogan, that makes her believe good Allie is still alive deep within this new dark Allie.
Jordynne Grace Is Very Strong (Still)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZVoE-WU_o8
Jordynne Grace defeated Katarina
Jordynne Grace has started her Impact Wrestling career by defeating Katarina twice in a row. Katarina seemed to get in a bit more offense then she did last time out but the end result was the same: Grace squeezing her opponent in a bear-hug so tight the tap-out comes almost instantly.
After Homecoming, it’s likely a new challenger for the Knockouts title will need to be declared (assuming there are no further immediate Tessa vs Taya matches). Grace is someone who could rise to the top of the division quickly as we head into 2019.
The Rascalz Have Arrived
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoWe7pscr7o
Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz defeated Mike Sydal & Chris Bey
Trey Miguel, Dezmond Xavier, and Zachary Wentz have arrived in Impact Wrestling. They’d each participated in tapings before but now it’s clear the trio are about to make a splash in the promotion. All three have impressed many on the independent scene and look primed to do the same thing in Impact Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling will air another show from Las Vegas tonight. Tonight’s Thanksgiving-themed show will feature the return of the famed Turkey suit.
Impact Wrestling 11/22 Preview
Not much is advertised for tonight’s episode of Impact. This likely means much of what occurs on the show will be decided on the show. Two segments have officially be confirmed by the promotion for tonight, however.
The Fate of the X-Division Is Decided
Last week on a notable episode of Impact Wrestling, Brian Cage declared he is cashing in “Option C”. This means he is vacating the X-Division Championship in order to receive a shot at the Impact World Championship at Homecoming on January 6th.
Tonight, Impact officials have said they will reveal the fate of the X-Division and likely how they will determine a new champion for the division. Rich Swann, Petey Williams, and former champion Matt Sydal will all likely be in the mix as the company looks to crown a new champion, likely at Homecoming.
Gravy Train Turkey Riot
The only other announced segment for tonight is Eli Drake’s annual “Gravy Train Turkey Riot”. A 10-person tag-team match will take place on tonight’s show. The wrestler who is pinned will have to wear the infamous turkey suit.
Other Possible Segments
Last week, Johnny Impact turned down an offer from Killer Kross to watch his back. It’s possible we hear from either Johnny or Kross tonight on the matter.
Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie will meet for a 3rd time at Homecoming. We could hear from champion and/or challenger tonight as well.
Impact Wrestling presented their first show from the Las Vegas tapings last night. Right out of the bat it looks as though we’ve got our two top matches for the Homecoming PPV in January.
Here are the top 9 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 11/15
Brian Cage is Cashing In Option C, Will Challenge For World Title At Homecoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHYndfb9qGM
Brian Cage (c) defeated Sami Callihan
In the main event last night, X-Division Champion, Brian Cage, pinned challenger Sami Callihan after delivering Weapon-X. In shocking fashion, Cage would then announce after the match that he is cashing in “Option C”; he’s turning in the X-division title for a shot at the world championship. He wants his shot at the Homecoming pay-per-view in Nashville on January 6. At the moment, this would mean he would face Johnny Impact, should Johnny still be champion come that time.
Dark Allie Debuts
Su Yung defeated Heather Monroe
Last week, Allie accepted James Mitchell’s offer to help her “heal”. Allie had left her soul in the undead realm when she went to rescue Keira Hogan at Bound For Glory. This week, Keira Hogan came out to stop Su Yung from a post-match beat down on her opponent when “Dark Allie” arrived and confronted Hogan.
A new Darker Allie has emerged. Gone is the bouncy, bubbly, bunny Impact Wrestling fans once Knew. Allie left the ring area along with Su Yung as Keira Hogan lay beaten on the mat.
Tessa Blanchard vs Taya Valkyrie III Will Take Place At Homecoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW4ZWFt6MVc
Tessa Blanchard defeated Ray Lyn
Blanchard may have defeated Valkyrie at Bound For Glory but it was not without controversy. Had the referee not been out of position when Valkyrie delivered the Road To Valhalla, things could have worked out differently that night.
Then in a rematch at Final Hour, Blanchard saved her title by getting herself disqualified. This week Taya revealed she spoke to Impact management and they made the third installment of this rivalry official for Homecoming.
Killer Kross Offered To Protect Johnny Impact
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nOoCoROsdg
Johnny Impact defeated Matt Sydal
One week after Johnny Impact successfully defended his Impact World Championship against Killer Kross, the two would be face to face in the ring again. Johnny defeated Matt Sydal in a non-title match this week and Kross confronted him after the match.
Kross offered his services to Johnny, saying if he needed his back watch, he’d be there. Johnny turned down his request, however, and said he didn’t trust the offer.
Eddie Edwards Has Priors, Dragged Away By Orderlies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tHe374zvzU
Moose baited Eddie Edwards this week. He said if Edwards tried to attack him again, he’d simply turn him into the authorities. Moose noted that Eddie has “priors” so a third strike could send him to prison for 20 years.
Edwards couldn’t resist going after his rival, however, even as Alisha Edwards screamed for him not to. 3 men in orderlies dragged Edwards away after injecting something into his neck.
Tommy Dreamer Doesn’t Like Eli Drake’s Skinny Jeans
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzWLXxRsRjs
In what was the second promo directed at skinny-jean millennials this week, Tommy Dreamer cut a promo on Eli Drake this week. Drake was cutting a promo saying he was going to get rid of hardcore wrestling when Dreamer appeared.
It looked as though Dreamer and Drake were going to have an impromptu match but ultimately Drake decided to roll of the ring and go to the back instead.
Konnan Turns Down LAX Vs Lucha Bros Match
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKaxjkxlccM
LAX defeated Fallah Bah & KM
LAX told Konnan this week that they want to defend their tag-team titles against the Lucha Bros, Pentagon and Fenix. Konnan, however, said it wasn’t the right time for that match and abruptly left the conversation. This is the second week in a row Santana and Ortiz has had an awkward discussion in the back regarding Konnan’s involvement with both teams.
In a scene reminiscent from that 70s show, members of the Rascalz were re-introduced to Impact Wrestling fans. Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, and Dezmond Xavier have impressed independent wrestling fans everywhere they have gone and also put in strong performances at the Impact tapings in Toronto this summer. They announced they have a match in two weeks.
Scarlett Bordeaux Turns Her Attention To The Impact Referees
Scarlett Bordeaux focussed her attention on the Impact Wrestling referees this week. Don Callis also noted that Bordeaux has brought in outside help to vet some of the submissions she receives for her open global talent search.

Impact Wrestling 11/15 Preview
X-Division Championship – Brian Cage (c) vs Sami Callihan
Previously on Impact Wrestling, Brian Cage traveled to Ohio to confront Sami Callihan. Cage was greeted by Callihan’s numerous Ohio-based minions. Tonight, the X-Division title is on the line, however. Callihan is the only man in Impact Wrestling to ever pin Cage, if he does as such tonight he’ll be the new X-Division Champion.
Johnny Impact vs Matt Sydal – Non-Title
Johnny Impact’s World Championship won’t be on the line in his match with Matt Sydal tonight. If Sydal comes out victorious, however, he’ll likely put himself in title contention. We are just over 7 weeks until the Homecoming PPV in Nashville and somebody will likely be declared the new #1 contender in the coming weeks.
Johnny suggested he might be stretching himself a little thin recently on Impact Press Pass. He’s already had to fend off Fenix and Killer Kross since winning the title and a match against Matt Sydal isn’t any easier.
Tessa Blanchard In Single’s Action
The Knockouts Champion will also be in action tonight. Her opponent for tonight’s non-title match has yet to be announced, however. Blanchard still has unfinished business with Taya Valkyrie. She lost to Taya previously via DQ in a rematch from Bound For Glory. At some point, Blanchard will have to defend the title once more against Valkyrie.
Eli Drake Has Requested Time On Impact Wrestling Tonight
Last week, Eli Drake attacked Joseph Park. Drake said he doesn’t like the hardcore wrestling style Abyss was famous for. He especially didn’t appreciate Abyss attacking him at Bound For Glory.
Tonight, Drake has requested time to speak and explain his actions.
Impact Wrestling aired their first episode since Bound For Glory last night. For the next 4 weeks the Impact will take place inside New York’s Melrose Ballroom.
Here are 9 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 10/18:
Fenix To Challenge For Impact World Championship Next Week
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExgKZhn5VUo
Johnny Impact kicked off this week’s episode with an in-ring promo. He said he will be a fighting champion and then threw some shade on Austin Aries for having been the opposite. Impact also said if he felt someone deserves a title shot, he will give one to them. This brought out Fenix who said he wanted a shot at the title. That title match was then made official for next week.
Sami Callihan Wants A Shot At The X-Division Championship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odg2NQ1acxE
X-Division Championship Brian Cage (c) defeated Rich Swann
Brian Cage defended his title this week against Rich Swann in the main event. After finishing off his challenger with Weapon-X, Sami Callihan hit the ring. Callihan made it clear he wants a shot at Cage’s title next. The Draw became the first person to pin Cage at Bound For Glory on Sunday, albeit it took a barrage of super-kicks from 3 wrestlers and Callihan’s Cactus Driver to do it.
On Sunday, champion and challenger each kicked out of the other’s signature finishing moves. In Tessa’s case, however, the referee was momentarily out of position putting away the ring apron which she had dragged into the ring. The question is then would Valkyrie have won if Tessa hadn’t of brought the ring apron into play? Valkyrie kicked out of Blanchard’s Buzzsaw DDT but was then unable to kick out after a top-rope codebreaker (Magnum – named after her step-father, Magnum TA), allowing Blanchard to retain.
After defeating Katarina this week, Valkyrie said she was not impressed with the champion’s tactics at the PPV, referring to bringing the ring apron in to buy time. Lucha Royalty continued to say she has lost her respect for Tessa Blanchard.
“I’m just more disappointed more than anything,” Valkyrie said after her match with Katarina. “I really respected Tessa and after that, I don’t.”
Allie’s Fine, Totally Fine. Don’t Even Worry About It
Allie defeated Alisha Edwards
Despite having descended into the Undead realm on Sunday, Allie’s fine, don’t even worry about it. That was what she told Kiera Hogan earlier in the show. She defeated Alisha Edwards this week but it’s clear her experience in the underworld has left her unhinged or possibly even possessed. Allie was adamant on Sunday that she and Hogan had to go back for Rosemary.
She began slapping herself in the face near the end of the match. She finished Edwards off with a codebreaker shortly after. Allie then continued to beat down Edwards after the match, choking her until Kiera Hogan brought her back to her senses.
Killer Kross And Moose Have Taken Out Their Competition
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecSpkIKRZC0
Killer Kross defeated Tommy Dreamer via referee stoppage
Austin Aries may be gone but his two henchmen are still running rampant over the Impact Wrestling roster. They may have lost to Edwards and Dreamer at the PPV, they won the war by taking out Edwards after the match. They delivered a beatdown to Tommy Dreamer this week. Kross defeated Dreamer in single’s action via referee stoppage after 2 Doomsday Saito suplexes. Moose and Kross again kept up the attack after the match.
With Edwards and Dreamer out of the way, Moose and Killer Kross have an open road ahead of them.
The Great Gama Singh Returns To The Ring Next Week
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X8ReWGJuCI
The Great Gama Singh hasn’t wrestled since some reunion shows in Alberta in 2006-07 and also in Puerto Rico around the same time. Backstage this week, Singh told Rohit Raju he would have to face him next week in Rohit’s final test. Raju defeated Gursinder Singh last week in a match where the loser had to leave the Desi Hit Squad and go back to India.
The OGZ Still Have A Piece Of New York
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSPcDHGsAi8
After losing the Concrete Jungle Deathmatch at Bound For Glory, the OGZ met with the family bosses. King told Konnan the bosses were kind enough to allow them to keep a piece of New York provided they stay on their side and leave LAX alone. Then they left. So, I guess this means King and the OGZ are still around but they can’t do anything to mess with LAX, for a while at least, anyway.
Ethan Page and His 3rd Eye Pick Up A Victory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkMR8u3Q8QA
Ethan Page defeated Trevor Lee
Page and Sydal lost at Bound For Glory but that’s ok because as the Buddha teaches, life is suffering. That was how Sydal told Page to think about it, at least. They got back into the win column this week when Page defeated Trevor Lee in single’s action.
Jordynne Grace Is On Her Way To Impact Wrestling
Josh Mathews mentioned the news that Impact signed Jordynne Grace to a contract. Grace competed in the Battle Royal at All In. With the nickname “Thick Mama Pump”, Grace is a powerhouse who has won over fans across the independent scene.
Check out Grace in this free match from Smash Wrestling’s Northern tournament held this summer. Grace takes on Joey Janela in the tournament’s 1st round:
Quick Results:
Taya Valkyrie defeated Katarina
Ethan Page defeated Trevor Lee
Killer Kross via referee stoppage
Allie defeated Alisha Edwards

Brian Cage (c) defeated Rich Swann
Impact Wrestling will air their first show since Bound For Glory tonight. This episode will also kick-off the first from the Melrose Ballroom tapings held Monday and Tuesday this week.
Johnny Impact World Championship Address
Johnny Impact defeated Austin Aries at Bound For Glory. While the post-match antics of Austin Aries may have dominated headlines, Johnny’s title reign is will be on center stage tonight. We’ll find out what Impact has to say about his championship win tonight.
X-Division Championship
Brian Cage (c) vs Rich Swann
Rich Swann has been one of the X-Division’s most consistent stars this last year. He also pinned former X-Division Champion, Matt Sydal, at Bound For Glory. Tonight, he has a chance to earn the title but he’ll have to go through Brian Cage to do so.
As for Cage, he suffered his first pinfall loss at Bound For Glory in trios action. Sami Callihan and OVE may not be finished with the Machine, however.
Allie vs Alisha Edwards
With the help of Rosemary and some black magic sorcery, Allie was able to escape the Undead Realm with Kiera Hogan at Bound For Glory. Allie seems shook up by what happened on Sunday, however. She didn’t seem comfortable leaving Rosemary in the Undead World with Su Yung. Anyway, she’ll go up against Alisha Edwards tonight.
LAX Celebration
LAX won the Concrete Jungle Death Match at Bound For Glory. They will hold a celebration for that tonight. The last time LAX held a big celebration a child got run over by a car. They might try to be more careful tonight, however.
Those Impact Tag Team Championships haven’t been defended in a while. We could hear more about what happens next with them tonight.
Scarlett Bordeaux’s Open Talent Search
Scarlett Bordeaux is searching for someone to be her full-time client. She’s opening up her talent search tonight. Allowing anyone to demonstrate to her why she should dedicate her services to them.
Ethan Page vs Trevor Lee
Ethan Page is now under the mentorship of Matt Sydal. He’ll have a chance to show how in-tune with his 3rd eye he is when he takes on a former X-Division champion in Trevor Lee tonight.
X-Division Champion Brian Cage recently spoke withSports Illustrated to promote Sunday’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view event.
At this show, he’s slated to team up with Pentagon Jr. and Fenix to take on Dave Crist, Jake Crist, & Sami Callihan in an OVE Rules match. When asked about it, Cage pointed out that OVE has a nice formula for amazing six-man tags but it does depend on who is working the match as it makes or breaks it.
“I have no doubt that the six of us are going to tear the house down. We can steal the show, it’s ours to take.”
Cage was also asked about who his dream opponent would be as well as being the king of the X-Division in Impact Wrestling. Cage brought up how he has always been a fan of the division and wanted to be a part of it.
“I know I’m bigger than most of the guys, but it’s a style and not a weight class, and I love to perform that style. To me, the X Division has been the core of Impact, and my all-time dream match is AJ Styles, and he was one of the pioneers of the X Division. I can’t wait to defend the title against Pentagon, Fenix, Rich Swann, and some former champions, too.”
Impact Wrestling will hold their Bound for Glory pay-per-view event on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, New York. As a reminder, we will be providing live coverage of this event.
