Brie Bella Credits Wrestling For Helping Her Business Mentality, Discusses Future Ambitions

Brie Bella has opened up about the number of projects her and her twin sister, Nikki, have been up to since retiring from in-ring competition.

The two recently discussed the upcoming fifth season of their reality show, Total Bellas, with Brie describing it as the next chapter of their lives, post-WWE.

In an interview with TVInsider.com, Brie spoke about her current ambitions and what the future holds for the twins.

Bella Businesses

The Bella Twins have several businesses they are currently running. Alongside their wine company, they have their clothing brand, Birdiebee, a successful podcast, and are even working on a book, which is scheduled for 2020.

Brie credits the work ethic they apply to these projects to their time in WWE.

“It’s such a different life now for me, but it’s still as satisfying as being a WWE superstar. I just think my sister and I with Birdiebee and Nicole and Brizee, all our companies were startups. The one thing my sister and I, and thank you Vince McMahon, for being our boss, have taken is our branding. [Business] is the same as in wrestling in not only branding but hard work. You have to work 24/7 every day. I really think we got that work ethic from wrestling.”

She continued, “[…] when you are an entrepreneur creating and starting companies, your biggest goal is to sell them in the end. We work really hard to keep our brand going strong and constantly think of new creative ideas. Our biggest thing what we’re working on now is connecting all our companies. As business owners, we’re trying to think of steps ahead and grow our company.”

“Nicole and I will be 36 in November. We always say by 40 [she] and I would be living in Napa Valley with our family. That’s the five-year plan: by then have a couple of companies sold, my own vineyard and [be] living in Napa Valley.”

Total Bellas Season 5 will debut on E! in early 2020 and will consist of 10 hour-long episodes.

Bella Twins Reveal Details About The Next Season Of Total Bellas

The Bella Twins have revealed details for the upcoming season of their reality series, Total Bellas.

In a post to her Instagram account, Nikki Bella has shared that her former Dancing with the Stars partner and current boyfriend, Artem Chigvintsev, will be joining the cast for the new season. She accompanied the news with an image of the two embracing.

“[…] As I start a new amazing journey with @totalbellas and my life, my @theartemc is starting the same,” she explained.

“I am so excited for him to be on this journey with me. I’m thankful for him to showcase his life, love, ups and downs not only for me but for my Bella Army and my Total Bellas viewers.”

The post then became reflective as Nikki wrote that “Sometimes we have a door shut and we don’t understand why, but honestly there is always a reason. I have been through that. And not through that just as a break up but through that professionally and personally. And when those other doors open they open SO big!”

“We Are In Our Next Chapter Of Our Life”

Her twin sister, Brie, also spoke about the forthcoming season to TVInsider.com

Brie admitted that the biggest difference between this season and previous seasons will be that Season 5 features less pro wrestling. Both women are now retired from the ring and are, according to Brie, in the “next chapter of our life.”

“You’re going to see cameras capturing Nikki’s retirement and her feelings on it. You’re going to see what happened when meeting the doctors. We both thought we were going back this summer. It’s our next chapter in life, which for me means growing my family. For my sister, it’s being in a new relationship with Artem [Chigvintsev] as a new cast member. He will be filming a lot. My sister is also building a house next door to me. I think it will show us as entrepreneurs.”

Total Bellas Season 5 will debut on E! in early 2020 and will consist of 10 hour-long episodes.

Nikki Bella Reveals What Forced Her To Retire

The Bella Twins recently announced their retirement from pro wrestling. Despite this, they have already speculated about what could bring them back to the ring.

During the debut episode of their new podcast, The Bellas Podcast, Nikki Bella would candidly address her own retirement announcement. She revealed her reasons behind the difficult decision. She also divulged that she wasn’t allowed to talk about the real reason due to corporate decision making—though it wasn’t specified whether this was a WWE or E! decision.

“Something we really couldn’t air on Total Bellas is that people didn’t realize how hard my comeback was for me to go back to a place that I called home and met the love of my life.”

She continued, “[…] when they showed you that I made the decision [to retire] because I couldn’t hang with the girls in the ring anymore, what they also don’t air—because they never want me to talk about my neck—is … it’s because of my neck.”

“I Would Get Paralyzed Too Or Even Worse”

Nikki would then mention Paige and the unfortunate incident that saw her having to retire from in-ring competition:

“You saw what happened to Paige,” Nikki said. “Paige and I have the same hardware. So if I was to get kicked in the back of the head, I would get paralyzed too or even worse.”

Co-host, and twin sister, Brie mentioned how Nikki would cry in the locker room every single week. The cameras, however, refused to show it. Nikki added that “we weren’t allowed to,” demonstrating the structured nature of the supposed ‘reality’ show.

The Bella Twins Talk Possible In Ring Return

It hasn’t even been a month since both Nikki Bella and Brie Bella, the Bella Twins announced their retirement from in-ring competition, but the sisters are already talking about a possible return.

In what seems like a good strategy to market their new podcast, the Bellas talked about a number of things during the first episode of the Bellas Podcast while also discussing a comeback.

The topic was brought up when a fan asked them about the Women’s Tag Titles and replying to it, Brie said that they did say they were stepping away but it was before the tag titles were introduced.

She went on to claim that the fact that there is a tag title for the female competitors is extremely tempting for them because they’re the longest reigning, most authentic tag team in the company.

This led to Nikki recalling their debut and early days in the company as a tag team. She then said that she has had an amazing career in WWE and she would love to win the Women’s Tag titles with Brie.

The two concluded the topic with Nikki saying that she would love to take on the current champions Sasha Banks and Bayley while Brie reminded everyone to never say never.

As we noted before, Nikki Bella is open to a return as long as the timing is right and while this appears to be just a tease, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if we see the Bella Twins making a return somewhere down the line.

Brie Bella Retires From In-Ring Competition

Brie Bella has wrestled her last match. Her decision to retire from in-ring competition was revealed Sunday on Total Bellas.

“I decided that after Evolution, I’m gonna be fully retired,” she said on the episode. “Fully done.” I love WWE, but the one thing I learned is that I can’t do everything. I just can’t.”

Brie Bella Retiring From Wrestling

Bella’s last official match in WWE was on the October 8th, 2018 RAW. She and Nikki teamed with Ronda Rousey that night and defeated the Riott Squad. The twins would turn on Rousey that night, however, leading to Nikki Bella’s match with Rousey at Evolution.

A contributing factor to Brie’s decision appears to be wanting to have a second child with husband, Daniel Bryan.

“I know a couple of months ago I told you I wasn’t ready for baby number two because I have a lot on my plate,” Brie said. “But I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I think the comeback really made me realize that I am actually ready. And I do want Birdie and our next baby to be close in age.”

Brie Bella finishes her wrestling career as a 1x former Divas champion. She held the title for 70 days in 2011 after defeating Eves Torres. She would drop the title to Kelly Kelly on the June 20th, 2011 Raw.

Total Bellas Episode Covers Brie Bella Injuring Liv Morgan

The most recent episode of Total Bellas aired on the E! Network on Sunday night and during the show, they covered an interesting topic. This was about Brie Bella injuring Liv Morgan back in September during an episode of Monday Night RAW.

In the episode of the reality show, Brie did a voiceover where she stated, “Oh my Gosh, I just kicked Liv in the face. All I can think about ‘are you okay Liv?’” The Bella Twin would continue by stating that she never hurt anyone during her 12 years of wrestling, which led to footage of Nikki telling Brie that Liv didn’t have broken bones.

Bella got down on herself before stating “It’s wrestling, it’s professional wrestling.” Footage also showed Brie consoling Liv backstage. Here are the highlights from the episode:

At the time, Bella received a lot of negative comments as well as support from the wrestling world after kicking Morgan in the face which resulted in her being knocked out during their six-woman tag team match that saw The Bella Twins and Natalya take on Morgan, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan.

The spot happened when Brie started to connect with the Yes Kicks that was started by her husband, Daniel Bryan. When she was landing chest kicks, she accidentally rocked Morgan’s head with two brutal strikes. This led to Morgan attempting to get back to her corner but fell down to the mat a few times.

The Bella Twins Won’t Be Returning To Total Divas

We recently reported on “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey allegedly joining the cast of ‘Total Divas.’ Now, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, it appears that Nikki and Brie Bella won’t be returning for the next season of ‘Total Divas’ as well.

Stepping away from the show that helped to popularize them to a wider audience, the Bella Twins are actively choosing to instead focus on their spin-off series, ‘Total Bellas.’

The Total Divas cast, as it stands now, includes Carmella, Natalya, Nia Jax, Naomi, and the recently announced Sonya Deville.

From that lineup, it can be assumed that Paige won’t be returning when cameras start rolling for the new season. She is currently promoting her new biopic, ‘Fighting With My Family.’

Sonya Steps In

Sonya Deville stepped in to replace Lana. It was revealed that Lana and Rusev would be removed from the show for being “strongly disliked by the demographic.”

When asked about joining the cast, she responded:

“I have been through things and I am the person I am for a lot of reasons and I love sharing those stories for the fans because it’s relatable. And on that topic, I’ll be on Season 9 of Total Divas, which is something I am super excited about.”

For what it’s worth, Pro Wrestling Sheet stated that Nikki Bella will continue on as an Executive Producer.

Brie Bella Went Into Deep Depression After Injuring Liv Morgan

Back in September, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, and Natalya teamed up for a Six-Woman Tag Team match. They faced The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, and Sarah Logan) on an episode of Monday Night RAW from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. During the match, Brie Bella knocked Morgan out cold by hitting her with some of her husband, Daniel Bryan’s, signature kicks.

A pair of kicks hit Morgan in the face and she folded over unconscious. Liv tried to get back to her corner but was stumbling and didn’t look to realize where she was:

https://twitter.com/briantheguppie/status/1044388801047654400

Eventually, Morgan was taken to the back and the match continued as a Tag Team bout. Bella received a lot of online hate after the botched spot. It turns out, the incident even forced her into a “deep depression.”

Bella had this to say about how she reacted to the ordeal in an interview with Digital Spy:

“Yes, it definitely is, because first off it’s crazy how I’ve been wrestling for 12 years and one of my major mistakes in the ring I get judged so harshly on. We’re not perfect, no one’s perfect, you know how many people have been injured in the ring? But for some reason I was like showcased in such a way of like, this evil person, and ‘look what she’s done’ and I got bullied really bad.

“I wanted to run into a cave and you’ll see, I don’t think people have ever seen me break down as bad as they will during the whole Liv situation. I went into deep depression, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to go back to work.

“All the horrible things people were saying about me, I felt a thousand times worse than the things they thought of me and I really had to sit down and think to myself, ‘Brie, you’re a mother’ and if Birdie was in this situation would you want her to feel this bad or would you want her to stand up to it and be like ‘Screw you guys?’

“I made a mistake and she’s not badly injured and you know what, this is our business, this is what we all signed up for. Everyone’s going to see backstage even how Liv and I were with each other. Out in the WWE ring, we have to play so much, bad guy, good guy, don’t talk to your competitors, but backstage you’ll see that we’re all really close and it affects us.

“We never want to go out there and hurt each other so when it happens it’s emotional. But people are going to hear my side of the story and my voice and how it’s about damn time that trolls stopped going on the internet and bullying everyone.”

What do you think about Bella saying she was depressed after injuring Liv Morgan?

The Bellas Challenge The Kardashians To WWE Match (Video)

The Bella Twins just suggested a match that will certainly get a reaction from professional wrestling fans. Nikki and Brie walked the red carpet for the “People’s Choice Awards,” and did an interview with E!’s Giuliana Rancic. The twins were asked about several professional wrestling topics, including working WWE Evolution with Ronda Rousey, their next match, and more.

In regards to their next match, The Bella Twins were asked who they’d like to share the ring with. They offered a very interesting response. Nikki threw out the suggestion of facing mega-celebrity sisters, The Kardashians:

“I honestly think what would be really good is the Kardashians! Sisters versus sisters!” Nikki said.

Brie Bella followed up and agreed with her sister, saying “I think that would be a good match.” The Kardashians have several reality TV shows on E! Network and are arguably the most famous celebrities on the planet. The Bella Twins are featured on a few of E!’s reality shows as well. Those being “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas.”

There’s definitely a bit of a working relationship between the two sides should they want to open up discussions for something like a WWE match. It remains to be seen if anything becomes of The Bellas comments. Check out The Bellas’ interview with E!, in which they challenge The Kardashians to a match, below:

Maria Kanellis Talks Relationship With The Bella Twins, If She’s Interested In Wrestling

During a Q&A session on Twitter on Saturday, Maria Kanellis answered questions on her relationship with The Bella Twins, her return to the ring at WWE Evolution, if she’s interested in wrestling more, her current run in WWE, and more. Below are some of the highlights:

While watching Brie and Nikki Bella on Raw in July 2013, Maria Kanellis claimed in a since-deleted tweet that they blocked her from returning to WWE earlier that year, writing, “I was offered a @wwe contract and the Bellas made sure I didn’t get it. I’m not bitter. I just don’t like people that mess with my career.”

Roman Reigns Appearance Set For Next Year, Vickie Guerrero Heading To WWE Evolution

– In the opening moments of Raw, Roman Reigns announced that he has been living with leukemia for 11 years and the disease’s return would force him to relinquish the Universal Championship and take a leave of absence from WWE. Reigns’ sabbatical from WWE apparently won’t prevent him from making appearances across the United States as ACE Comic Con announced today that he will appear at one of their events next year.

Reigns, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Lilian Garcia are among the celebrity guests scheduled to appear at ACE Comic Con Arizona on Friday, January 11, 2019, in Glendale, Arizona at Gila River Arena. Fans will have the opportunity to meet all four as they will be signing autographs and doing photo-ops. Garcia will also moderate Q&A panels with Reigns, Bliss, and Flair.

– You can add Vickie Guerrero to the list names who will be at WWE Evolution tomorrow night. The former WWE star revealed on Twitter that she will be there to work with the women who are performing on the show.

https://twitter.com/VickieGuerrero/status/1056289814545338374

– The Bella Twins are scheduled to appear on The View this Wednesday, according to TV Guide. The daytime talk show airs at 11:00 a.m. ET on ABC.

The Bellas Were Caught Off Guard By WWE’s Announcement Of Evolution

WWE’s announcement of Evolution took a lot of people by surprise. Even The Bella Twins. WWE will host its first-ever all-female pay-per-view (PPV) tomorrow (Sat., October 27, 2018) from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The show will be headlined by two of WWE’s biggest female stars.

RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Nikki Bella. Nikki’s sister, Brie, will likely be in her corner. Recently, The Bella Twins took part in a Q&A panel at the Ace Comic Con in Chicago. During the session, they were asked about their reaction to the announcement of the PPV.

Never Saw It Coming

Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H made the announcement inside the ring, with all the WWE Superstars on the entrance ramp of RAW. Brie initially assumed the announcement was going to be in regards to Women’s Tag Team Titles:

“I actually thought they were probably bringing in tag team titles for the women, just because of how everyone was out in the ring and they were speaking,” Brie said. “And I wasn’t expecting an all women’s pay-per-view.

“Look, I have goosebumps just saying it out loud. I was sitting on the couch watching and I was like, ‘wait, what?’ It really made me teary eyed. I was like, ‘wow, this is a really historic moment for WWE.’”

As for Nikki, she was definitely taken aback by the announcement. She believed women would main event a WrestleMania before getting their own PPV:

“I was with Brie and I remember we were both floored,” Nikki said. “I mean, I was in shock. And I had no idea it was coming either. I thought we might see first women main eventing WrestleMania and then an all women’s pay-per-view, but I love the fact that that [has] come before that. It’s amazing.”

Michelle McCool Posts Wrestling Training Video, The Bella Twins Officially Join Raw

– After it was revealed last week that Michelle McCool will appear at SmackDown 1000, it looks like she has plans on wrestling at WWE Evolution as well.

The former WWE women’s champion posted a wrestling training video of herself today on Instagram with the hashtag “#evolution.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BowiuuJBVYB/

McCool competed for the first time in seven years last January in the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble Match. She scored the most eliminations at five before being eliminated by Natalya.

– The Bella Twins are now officially back on Raw as WWE.com finally updated Brie and Nikki‘s brand status.

Up until this week, Brie had not been designated to a brand, and Nikki was still listed as a member of SmackDown LIVE. Since returning in August, Nikki has exclusively appeared on Raw, whereas Brie has appeared on both Raw and SmackDown LIVE.

The Bella Twins Comment On Why They Attacked Ronda Rousey

Nikki and Brie Bella attacked Ronda Rousey on Monday night in Chicago. The twins and the Raw Women’s Champion had just defeated the Riott Squad for the second time in a row when the attack occurred.

During the attack, the Raw commentary team speculated as to why the Bellas would attack Rousey. After the show, however, WWE cameras caught up with the pair to ask them why they did what they did.

When asked why they would attack someone who had been standing beside them in recent weeks, Brie offered up the following response:

“Been by our side? You mean taking up our space,” Brie said. “Standing in front of us, taking our shine, is that what you mean?”

“Brie and I are here for evolution but we’re here to remind everyone, even Ronda Rousey, that this is a ‘Bellalution’,” added Nikki.

Nikki and Brie Bella’s “Bellalution”

Both Nikki and Brie are former Divas Champions. Nikki held the title twice and Brie on just one occasion. Nikki’s 301-day title reign with the belt is the longest in the now-retired championship’s history. AJ Lee still holds the record for most combined days spent with the title at 406, split between 3 reigns. Unless the title is brought back, AJ will be the all-time record-holder in that category.

Ronda Rousey posted this on Instagram in regards to the attack:

Bayley Wants To Wrestle Ivory At Evolution, Ronda Rousey Thanks The Riott Squad

– WWE Evolution is only three weeks away and Bayley would like to wrestle a WWE Hall of Famer at the all-women’s pay-per-view event.

On Saturday, Ivory tagged Bayley in a tweet complimenting her arm drag with the hashtag “#Evolution.” Bayley responded, “Let’s wrestle.”

Ivory responded, “Can I have a year to get in shape, first?!” Bayley then said, “How about I give you until Oct. 28?” — Evolution takes place on October 28.

There’s a personal connection between the two as Bayley met Ivory when she was 12 years old and the then-WWE star asked her if she’s going to see her in the ring one day.

“I remember having the opportunity to meet Ivory as a kid, and she was the first woman’s wrestler that I met. She looked at me and said, ‘I’m going to see you in the ring one day aren’t I?'” Bayley said in an interview earlier this year.

“I took that sign that I was going to make it and then I met her again at Wrestlemania 30 or 31 as a member of the WWE roster and told her that story.”

– At WWE Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia, Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins beat The Riott Squad in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match. The match ended in a unique fashion as Rousey made Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan submit simultaneously to a double armbar. Rousey took to Instagram on Sunday to thank Australia, The Bella Twins and even The Riott Squad.

Rousey wrote, “Yesterday moved me to my core. Thank you Melbourne. Thank you Australia. Thank you everyone who smiled back at me at #WWESSD … thank you @thenikkibella and @thebriebella for having my back in the ring last night…. And thank you #RiotSquad @rubyriottwwe @sarahloganwwe @yaonlylivvonce for being the force we had to reckon with.”

Liv Morgan Cleared For WWE Super Show-Down

Despite being knocked unconscious and suffering a subsequent concussion due to Brie Bella’s errant ‘Yes Kicks’ during the September 24th episode of Monday Night Raw, it’s been revealed that Liv Morgan has now been cleared to compete.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Morgan underwent testing backstage this past Monday and has been officially cleared for this Saturday’s Super Show-Down event in Melbourne, Australia.

Liv Morgan was present this past weekend at the WWE Live Events, though she did not take any bumps as she was only permitted limited contact.

A lot has been made over the ‘Yes Kicks’ that led the Riott Squad member to suffer a concussion, with Brie Bella candidly pushing back at the negative comments she found herself confronted with.

Her husband, Daniel Bryan, would also speak up, defending Brie against the wave of ‘cyber bullies’ that she had encountered since the event.

Liv Morgan is now set to compete this Saturday with her fellow Riot Squad members, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan, against the team of “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie.

Daniel Bryan Defends Wife Brie Bella After Backlash Over Liv Morgan Injury

Daniel Bryan is standing by his wife’s side and pointing out that accidents happen in professional wrestling matches all the time.

Over the past two weeks, Bryan’s spouse Brie Bella has been receiving a relentless amount of criticism after she accidentally kicked Liv Morgan in the head twice in a row, nearly knocking her unconscious and ultimately causing her to have a concussion.

Immediately after the incident happened, Bella posted an apology on Twitter while sending Morgan her well wishes after the accidental kicked nearly knocked her out.

More recently, Bella has taken to Instagram where she wrote a lengthy post about cyberbullying, undoubtedly aimed at the amount of criticism she’s faced since the incident with Morgan in the ring a couple of weeks ago.

Now Bryan is going on the offensive to defend his wife and also point out that accidents happen in the ring constantly — and even he’s been the perpetrator in the past.

“I am proud of how strong my wife is. After accidentally injuring Liv Morgan last week, the first time Bri’s ever hurt another performer, she’s been subject to a constant barrage of social media attacks. Almost every wrestler has accidentally hurt someone but rarely do you see this kind of hate when it happens. For example, I concussed Randy Orton in 2012 after hitting him with what was supposed to be a chair to the back. Unfortunately part of the side hit him in the back of the head, and he was forced to miss a PPV. In 2009 in our last match against each other, I concussed Nigel McGuinness after doing a dive into him in the crowd, where his head hit the floor. And there are others.

“As for the Yes kicks, two weeks ago I accidentally kicked Andrade directly in the head due to a miscommunication on my part. I feel fortunate that he was ok, because there are few feelings worse than hurting someone. Despite all of that, never did I receive the backlash Bri did this week. With all the negative things said about my wife, nobody was harder on her than she was on herself. Thank you to the many people who reached out to support her, both publicly and privately. We all wish Liv Morgan a speedy recovery.”

Bryan ended his post with the hash tag ‘cyberbullying’, referencing back to his wife’s post on the subject on Instagram.

WWE had previously confirmed that Morgan suffered a concussion from the incident but outside of that, there’s been no other statement about Bella’s in ring performance.

By all accounts, she will still be a very active member of the roster with a high profile match coming up this weekend at ‘WWE Super Show-Down’ when she teams with her sister Nikki and former UFC champion Ronda Rousey is a six-person tag match against the Riott Squad — with Liv Morgan still currently scheduled to perform as well.

Brie Bella Talks Cyberbullies Following Liv Morgan Incident

Brie Bella has received a lot of negative comments as well as support from the wrestling world after kicking Liv Morgan in the face which resulted in her being knocked out during their six-woman tag team match that saw The Bella Twins and Natalya take on Morgan, Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan on last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in Denver, CO.

WWE has already announced that the Riott Squad is set to face The Bella Twins again, this time with Ronda Rousey as their partner at the upcoming WWE Super Show-Down event that takes place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia.

As noted, Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan appears to be for doctors to evaluate her before Raw today and if she fails the concussion test, Alicia Fox will likely be her replacement at the WWE Super Show-Down event.

Brie took to her official Instagram account to write the following about cyberbullies:

“As a first time Mom I’ve never experienced unconditional love like this. The way she loves on me, needs me and makes me feel that I’m her whole world. Her sweet smile makes my day better, her laugh sounds like heaven and her hugs make my heart skip a beat.  We all were babies at one time. Filled with innocence, laughter and love. We never judged, hated or bullied people. We’d look in the mirror and played peek a boo with ourselves and think our shadow was the best thing ever. We just simply lived.

I hope people can find that feeling again, happiness. Happy people don’t waste their time or energy being cyber bullies….miserable people do. If you aren’t living the life you wish I pray that you find what makes your heart happy and stop wasting energy on promoting hate.  For the happy people, silence hate. Don’t let it bring you down.”

Sean Waltman On Liv Morgan Getting Concussed During RAW

This past Monday on RAW, professional wrestling fans witnessed a rather disturbing moment. A Six-Woman Tag Team match took place between The Bella Twins and Natalya versus The Riott Squad. During the match, Brie Bella hit Liv Morgan with a series of YES! Kicks.

One of the kicks, however, hit Morgan square in the face. Morgan went limp and folded over, seemingly unconscious. Bella later dragged Morgan over to her corner and she was tagged out of the match. During the commercial break, Morgan was taken backstage to receive medical attention.

X-Pac’s Take

Former WWE star Sean “X-Pac” Waltman took to his podcast, X-Pac 12360, and offered his thoughts. Here’s what he had to say:

“The natural instinct when you get concussed, when you get knocked out, as soon as you come up is to get up and fight and keep going,” said Waltman. “It’s a really weird experience because you all of a sudden are laying on the ground and there’s this déjà vu thing. Happens every time I have a concussion. Even last year in the U.K, I got knocked out and it was the same thing all of a sudden I am on the ground on the mat having déjà vu going through my head.

“It’s a tough call in a situation like that on live TV and everyone is in the moment. I saw a clip of that and to me it just looks like the last one caught her because she was registering the kicks when she would get kicked. It was just their timing, it got messed up, it looked like to me. And as she was coming back down from registering the kick she got kicked with the last one. It looked like just the last one is what knocked her out to me.

“Sh-t happens, and no one means to do that… I am not gonna fault anyone for not doing anything if wasn’t part of protocol. However, this might be a good learning experience to start training the referees on what to do… That would be something I am pretty sure they’re already talking about.”

What do you make of Waltman’s comments regarding Morgan and Bella?

The Bella Twins Comment on Evolution of Women’s Division

Nikki and Brie Bella have made their opinions clear on the evolution of the Women’s division. The WWE Superstar’s official Twitter account sent out a tweet over the weekend. “ev·o·lu·tion The gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form. Development, advancement, growth, rise, progress, expansion, unfolding, transformation, adaptation, modification, revision. Women honoring empowering & uniting other women at WWE.”

Smackdown General Manager Paige and Carmella commented on an article online earlier this week on the original ‘Divas’ division. The article (entitled How the Divas are damaging the Evolution) was heavily criticised by both Superstars. Paige commented that the Bella Twins were “the OG ladies to help kickstart the #givedivasachance trend” and that “They deserve to be apart of everything and more.” Nikki and Brie’s comments on the tweet appear to be a direct reaction to the article in question.

Brie and Nikki will be teaming with Ronda Rousey in October. The Twins will face the Riott Squad at WWE Super Show-down on October 6th in Australia alongside the RAW Women’s Champion. Brie Bella is also scheduled to face Ruby Riott on this week’s RAW show.

Nikki also recently reacted to the Bella Twin’s return to WWE, mentioning that “I can’t believe I’m going to be tagging with Ronda Rousey. I feel very blessed right now with my life.”

Brie Bella Discusses Her WWE Future, Scary Botched Dive

Brie Bella recently spoke with Yahoo to promote this Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in San Antonio, Texas at the AT&T Center on the WWE Network where she’ll be teaming with Daniel Bryan to face with The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match.

Her WWE future

This will mark her first match on pay-per-view since January at the Royal Rumble and when asked about her future, she noted that she hopes to be around for a little bit as she and Bryan want to have their second child in the future. She noted that if she can be around for a couple of months or more then that’s heaven for her.

Botched a suicide dive on WWE RAW

She recently worked a tag team match with her sister, Nikki, where she botched a suicide dive. Brie stated that with any type of physical body change, it changes so much and brought up how she had less momentum than what she should have had because she’s 10 pounds heavier than what she was in the past.

“Gravity doesn’t lie. That was a little different for me. I don’t mind if I fail or if I succeed. No matter what, I want to look back with no regrets. If I fail, last week for example, I went to sleep at night and I was kind of bummed out, but I learned something about myself. I learned where my body is at, where I am at.”

Paige Announces Two Matches For Smackdown

Smackdown General Manager Paige has revealed two matches for this Tuesday’s Smackdown. After defeating the Miz in the Smackdown main event last week, R-Truth will face Andrade “Cien” Almas this week. Maryse will also face Brie Bella in this week’s Smackdown main event.

Andrade “Cien” Almas vs R-Truth

R-Truth’s victory last week was the first single’s win he’s had on WWE programming since July 2017. He defeated Curt Hawkins on Main Event for that victory. Before then, his last win in a single’s match had been on Monday Night Raw in October 2016 when he defeated Titus O’Neil.

Andrade “Cien” Almas has dropped his last two single’s matches on WWE programming. Both losses were to Daniel Bryan. In total, however, Almas is 6-3 in single’s matches since debuting on the main roster earlier this year. His only losses have come by way of AJ Styles and the two to Daniel Bryan.

Brie Bella vs Maryse

Brie Bella will have her first single’s match in 2.5 years tonight when she faces Maryse. She returned to the ring for the first time since 2016 at the Women’s Royal Rumble in January and had her first tag match back last week on Raw.

As for Maryse, this will be her first single’s match since 2011. It will be her first match since she teamed with her husband at WrestleMania 33.

Update On Neville’s WWE Status, Meet WWE Stars In Chicago, Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal

– Neville is now a former WWE Superstar.

After it was reported last week that Neville is no longer under contract to WWE, his WWE.com profile has been moved to the Alumni section — in between MVP and Papa Shango.

Although WWE has not issued an official statement regarding Neville’s departure from the organization, the company confirmed to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline that he is no longer under contract to WWE. Meltzer also noted that Neville is free to wrestle elsewhere.

– Alexa Bliss, Seth Rollins, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Lilian Garcia are among the celebrity guests scheduled to appear at ACE Comic Con Midwest on Friday, October 12 at Chicago’s Navy Pier. Fans will have the opportunity to meet all five wrestling stars as they will be signing autographs and doing photo-ops. Garcia will also moderate Q&A panels with Bliss, Rollins, and The Bella Twins.

– It was on this day in 2012 when Seth Rollins beat Jinder Mahal to be crowned the inaugural NXT Champion. The official Twitter account of the WWE Network posted a clip from their encounter.

Spoilers On WWE’s Plans For Upcoming SDL Episodes

We have some insight into WWE’s plans for SmackDown Live in the coming weeks.

PWInsider is reporting that Maryse is scheduled for tomorrow’s episode of SmackDown Live. The plan is to have her become a regular on the program moving forward. The report also notes there have been talks of having Maryse vs. Brie Bella at Evolution.

This makes sense given The Miz and Maryse vs. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella will take place at Hell In A Cell. The two real-life married couples will face off in a Mixed Tag Team match.

Evolution goes down from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in East Garden City, New York on October 28th.

Tag Team Tournament

PWInsider also notes that next week’s SmackDown Live will feature a Triple Threat Tag Team match. The Usos, Sanity and Rusev & Aiden English will compete against each other. This is to be a part of the mini-tag team tournament implemented by General Manager Paige.

The winner of the tournament will challenge The New Day for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles. Last week on SmackDown, The New Day defeated The Bludgeon Brothers in a No Disqualification match to win the straps.
