Maria Kanellis Deletes Her X Account In Response To Recent Controversy

Maria Kanellis and her husband Mike Bennett were released from WWE a couple of years ago as part of cost-cutting measures. They later found employment in AEW and ROH. Recently, Kanellis became entangled in another online dispute involving Mark Briscoe, and in the aftermath of the controversy, she decided to delete her Twitter account due to the backlash over her expressed views.

The story behind Maria Kanellis deleting her X account

Mark Briscoe gained attention when he publicly called out the “WWE on FOX” social media account for appropriating The Briscoes’ well-known “DEM BOYZ” term in reference to Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits. Briscoe even tagged Triple H, urging him to address the situation.

Maria Kanellis joined the discussion by sharing her perspective on the matter. She highlighted the significance of ‘DEM BOYZ’ to Mark Briscoe, emphasizing that the “WWE on FOX” account made the comment on the first anniversary of his brother’s final match. However, Kanellis faced unexpected backlash for her remarks, ultimately prompting her to announce her departure from Twitter and subsequently delete her account.

‘‘I think I’m about done on this particular platform. It’s too crazy. Disagreeing is one thing. Threatening my family, name calling, agism, racism, family planning shaming, religious prejudice, and sexism is all too much. I will keep my Instagram. But it’s about time to move on from the negativity.”

Mark Briscoe already apologized to Triple H

Mark Briscoe revealed the reason behind his outspoken comments, explaining that he was mourning the loss of his brother. He sent out a post to let people know exactly what was going on.

Oh yea, thatsss why I quit posting on Twitter lol. Just logged back on…woww. Some of y’all are wild lol. I just miss my brother, that’s all, and I got a little in my feelings when I seen the Fox post. Triple H, you ain’t gotta fire nobody, times is tough. Love y’all..take it light people

Nevertheless, Maria Kanellis decided that leaving Twitter was the optimal choice for her mental well-being, and fans acknowledge and respect her decision. We will have to see if there are new updates on this story from this point on.

Maria Kanellis’ post on 12/10 prior to deleting her X account

We will have to see if Maria Kanellis reactivates her X account. She should have around 30 days to do so, if she wants to come back to the platform. What’s your take on this? Let us know how you feel by engaging with us on social media!

  • Dax Harwood Reflects On 2022 Rivalry With The Briscoes

Dax Harwood Reflects On 2022 Rivalry With The Briscoes

FTR didn’t have the best year in 2021. The tag team was stuck in limbo after jumping ships from WWE to AEW and they didn’t get a lot of opportunities to showcase their talent. The duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler decided to change this in 2022 and the team that helped them in this task was none other than The Briscoes.

Harwood talked about their highly praised feud with the ROH veterans on the latest episode of his podcast. He remembered their first encounter at ROH Final Battle in December, 2021 where FTR attacked The Briscoes. Per Dax, there were no plans for them in the place at the time and they just wanted to test the waters:

“We just wanted to test the waters. We just wanted to see what was gonna happen. Myself and Cash, really were in a low point in our career. We weren’t doing anything. We begged Tony to let us do that.”

‘We Deserve To Be On National Television’: Dax Harwood

The Final Battle confrontation led to a highly praised match between the two teams at Supercard of Honor 2022. It was the time when the future of ROH was in question. So the two teams decided to go out with a blaze of glory and prove that they deserved to be on national television every week:

“We knew we could go. If Ring of Honor was going to go out, the four of us could go out with a blaze of glory and say, ‘This is who we are. This is what we represent and we deserve a job somewhere. We deserve to be on national television every week somewhere.’ That was our mindset going into it. Then the match happened. Man, it was f**king magical.”

The match between FTR and The Briscoes at Supercard of Honor was awarded a five-star rating by Dave Meltzer. It helped both the teams create buzz. They went on to have two more highly praised matches that helped put them back on the map.

Dax Harwood Invites the Briscoes to Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite

Dax Harwood of FTR has invited ROH and GCW Tag Team Champions the Briscoes to Wednesday’s Dynamite. After FTR attacked Jay and Mark Briscoe at ROH’s Final Battle recently, Harwood took to Twitter to say that the Briscoes should come to next week’s AEW Dynamite in the Greensboro Coliseum.

“Hell no. We came in their house, beat the shit out of them, and made them more relevant in 4 minutes than they’ve been in the last 4 years. They should come the Greensboro and give us their payday from Final Battle. I’m sure I could almost pay my light bill with that money,” Harwood Tweeted.

FTR have a scheduled match for the show. They are set to team with their Pinnacle stablemate, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. They’ll face Sting, Darby Allin, and CM Punk in trios action.

FTR recently appeared on Barstool Rasslin‘ with Brandon F. Walker. During the discussion, they spoke in regards to some of their plans for 2022 and mentioned the Briscoes specifically.

“I think we are going to be the first-ever two-time AEW Tag Team Champions. In 2022, we are going to get the titles back. We are going to have the title run that we should’ve had the first time,” said Wheeler. He continued, “…We are never going to lose those again. Rematch with the Young Bucks. Beat the sh*t out of The Briscoes. Hold titles everywhere.”

The Briscoe Brothers Call Out FTR And Tony Khan

The Briscoe Brothers have called out Tony Khan and FTR ahead of this Wednesday’s Winter Is Coming special of Dynamite from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.

The current ROH tag team champions posted a video message earlier today on Twitter. They told FTR that they made a mistake by confronting them at Final Battle.

The duo then called out AEW president Tony Khan as well to send them plane tickets, and told the AEW stars that they don’t know the danger they have put themselves in:

The Briscoe Brothers defeated Matt Taven and Mike Bennett at the Final Battle PPV this past Saturday to become the new ROH tag team champions.

After the match, they picked up the mics and laid out a challenge for any tag team in the world. In response, FTR made their ROH debuts and confronted the newly crowned champions.

The AEW stars picked up the ROH tag team titles. They then got out of the ring to brawl with The Briscoes to end the segment.

Tony Khan has teased new AEW debuts in the coming weeks. After this latest promo, the only question that remains is when exactly we will see The Briscoe Brothers making their AEW debut.

The Briscoe Brothers Announce They Have Re-Signed With Ring Of Honor (Video)

The Briscoe Brothers aren’t going anywhere. Mark and Jay Briscoe have revealed via Twitter that they have officially re-signed with Ring of Honor (ROH). Leaning against a pickup truck, the two discuss their contract status with ROH:

“Y’all probably don’t know this, because we don’t really talk about this type of s—. But our ROH deals are up in just a couple of months. And now everybody is wanting to know ‘what’s next?’” Jay said.

He noted how they have done it all as a team in the promotion as his brother Mark took over. Mark highlighted their notable accolades as Tag Team of the Year and Tag Team of the Decade. He then stressed how they are eleven-time tag team champions.

    Briscoe Brothers Want 12

Taking his hat off to display the embroidered “11X” on the back, Jay asked his brother “What comes after 11?”

He continued, “12 is next. We Dem Boys. What the hell we look like, trying to win somebody else’s damn tag team titles? We Dem Boys, we re-signed with ROH, we ain’t going no-damn-where, so let the ass whooping’s continue to commence.”

As noted, the Briscoe Brothers have won the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships 11 times. Outside their team, Jay Briscoe is a two-time ROH World Champion. They have also won the ROH World Six-Man Championships alongside Bully Ray. The duo recently lost the ROH Tag Team Championships to Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham at Final Battle 2019.

  • The Briscoe Brothers Issue Challenge To The Usos

The Briscoe Brothers Issue Challenge To The Usos

Ring Of Honor (ROH) tag team, The Briscoe Brothers, have just called out another popular brother duo for a matchup. The only problem? That tag team are signed to WWE.

In a recent interview with Rebellious Noise, conducted backstage at Madison Square Garden, the team would discuss travelling internationally to wrestle, their next steps in ROH, and what it was like wrestling at MSG in New York. It was during this conversation that former ROH World Champion, Jay Briscoe, would lobby the challenge at WWE’s Jimmy and Jey Uso.

Jay would admit that, at this time in their career, they just want to have “big time matches.” With the Briscoes having dominated the ROH tag team division for years, they seem to be interested in looking outside of ROH’s remit for potential new opponents. But for those big time matches to happen, “[…] we need big time tag teams to wrestle against. So, uh, yo, Usos, what’s good? Have your people call my people, we can do this.”

His brother, Mark, would then add “We can make it work out, baby, we can work it out.”

The Briscoe Brothers have held numerous championships during their time with ROH. The pair are ten-time ROH World Tag Team Champions and have also held the IWGP Tag Team Championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Tama Tonga Cuts Promo On Briscoe Brothers (Video)

Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa won the ROH World Tag Team championships at G1 Supercard. They also successfully defended their IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team titles in the same match. Despite this, headlines concerning their bout in MSG centered around the post-match invasion by Enzo and Big Cass.

The Briscoes and Guerrillas of Destiny are destined to have a 2-on-2 clash sometimes soon for either set of titles the Tongans have. Tama Tonga cut a promo on the Briscoes and posted it to Twitter recently:

Tonga dared the Briscoes to come after them instead of “another promotion’s garbage.”

The Briscoes had cut a promo on the GoD earlier in the week as well. In the video, Jay Briscoe referred to NJPW’s World Tag League as the most boring tournament he’s ever seen.

    Guerrillas of Destiny Upcoming Matches

Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa aren’t actually in possession of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team championship belts. Those were stolen by Toru Yano. The Guerillas of Destiny will face Yano and Togi Makabe for the titles on April 29th.

At the Road to Wrestling Dontaku show on April 22nd, the Tongans will have a chance to win the 6-Man tag team titles as well. It will be the 3 brothers of Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and HIKULEO going up against the champions Toru Yano, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Togi Makabe.

When ROH and NJPW present the G1 Supercard from MSG on April 6th, the tag champs from each promotion will clash against each other. The Guerilla of Destiny will put up their titles against the Briscoes’ titles in front of a soldout Madison Square Garden.

The match came together yesterday on night 2 of ROH’s Honor Rising shows from Korakuen Hall.

Guerillas of Destiny vs The Briscoes – Title vs Title – G1 Supercard From MSG

On night 1 of Honor Rising, the Briscoes and Guerillas of Destiny teamed together. The two teams don’t get along, however, and ended up coming to blows after the match. The two teams do have history together. The Briscoes defeated GoD to win the IWGP heavyweight tag titles at Dominion in 2016. GoD took the titles back just 4 months later at King of Pro Wrestling 2016, however.

In the semi-main event of Honor Rising night 2, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa defeated Evil & Sanada to regain the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships for the 5th time. In the main event, the Briscoes defeated Juice Robinson & Dave Finlay to retain the ROH Tag Team Championships. Following the Briscoes defeat of Fin Juice, the Tongans hit the ring and challenged the Briscoes to a match at the G1 Supercard from Madison Square Garden.

  • The Briscoe Brothers Announce They’re Staying With ROH

Ring of Honor has announced that The Briscoe Brothers have re-signed with the promotion. ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe and his brother Mark had been negotiating with both ROH and WWE, with ROH ultimately making them an offer they couldn’t refuse.

ROH caught up with the Briscoe Brothers at their farm in Sandy Fork, Delaware to get an official statement from the men themselves. They made it clear that they’re ‘just getting started’ and will be raising hell in ROH for years to come.

ROH sent out a press release stating:

The Briscoe Brothers have been with Ring of Honor “since day one,” and now, ROH can confirm that the Briscoes are here to stay!

Jay and Mark have nearly thirty years of combined experience between the ropes , have traveled the world, and have earned many championships along the way. Jay Briscoe is in the midst of an incredible second run as World Champion, a feat accomplished by only two men in the entire history of ROH, and together, the Briscoes hold the record for ROH Tag Team Championships with eight amazing reigns.

The Briscoes built their legacies in Ring of Honor and for Dem Boys from Sandy Fork, there’s no place like home…and no place like Ring of Honor.

  • Update On The Briscoe Brothers’ Negotiations With WWE & ROH

ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe and his brother Mark have been in negotiations with with both ROH and WWE for some time now and it’s now looking like they’ll will be staying in Ring of Honor.

The Briscoes recently received offers from both companies and were giving strong consideration to jumping to WWE/NXT. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Ring of Honor recently increased their offer – which led to the Briscoes contacting WWE again to see if they’d match it. WWE was reportedly not going to budge from their initial offer.

Another factor in their decision is that the Briscoes run farming businesses based out of Delaware, which they’re able to do since they only work 5-6 ROH dates per month. Signing with WWE would only be worthwhile if they were able to make more than their current income from ROH, independent appearances and farming.
