Britt Baker On Triple H’s Reaction To Her Being Shown At TakeOver

Britt Baker was shown on camera during NXT TakeOver: War Games last year. During the main event, Baker was shown looking on in concern with her hands covering her mouth. Mauro Ranallo noted that Baker was Adam Cole’s partner while she was shown on camera. According to WWE, the production crew wasn’t aware of who Baker is and believed they were just shooting a fan in the crowd.

Baker was recently a guest on Talk is Jericho and spoke about what Triple H and Stephanie McMahon said to her backstage about it.

“Triple H came up to me right away. He’s like, ‘Ah, I’m so sorry. We didn’t mean for that to happen.’ I’m kinda like, ‘Wait, what?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, we got you on camera with your reaction to the bump. I’m so sorry. The head [of] production didn’t know who you were,’” Baker said.

“Do I believe that? I don’t know, but he was very apologetic to me, super-nice, him and Stephanie both were so sorry about that. ‘I hope you don’t get in trouble,’ which Tony didn’t care at all because after that night, I was the top Google search of that entire show — of the entire NXT show was Britt Baker, just because of that one little blip they showed me on TV.”

The Britt Baker Challenge

Baker being shown on camera during an NXT event then led to a spoof on AEW Dynamite. This time, Baker was shown reacting to Nyla Rose going on a rampage in much the same way she was shown reacting to the NXT show.

The segment can be viewed in the Tweet below:

“That’s Adam Cole’s girlfriend!” Excalibur can be heard saying as Baker was shown on-screen.

The #BrittBakerChallenge began trending not long after. Even NXT Champion Adam Cole got in on the fun:

Britt Baker Talks Turning Heel & Working With Tony Schiavone

Dr. Britt Baker DMD has quickly become one of the most talked-about heels in AEW. In recent months on Dynamite, Baker has been ruthless in her comments to Tony Schiavone and even more ruthless to her opponents in the ring. Her new persona is not what she thought she would be doing when she started with the promotion, however. In a recent interview with the Bleacher Report, Baker spoke about her current character and the confidence she gets from working alongside Schiavone.

“It’s really totally not where I expected I would be right now, as far as character-wise,” Baker said. “I love it. Every second of it, I’m enjoying it.”

Baker also spoke about working with her “friend” Tony Schiavone on Dynamite.

“There’s always a sense of comfort knowing I have Tony Schiavone standing there with you because if anything really goes off the rails he can save it. It’s comforting, because I know he’s right there with me.”

“Tony Schiavone is such a pro and he’s so amazing, his reaction, his body language, and his gestures truly make the promos, because he’s so, so good. It’s these little organic things and these gestures. I nudged him one week and said, ‘Stand up straight,’ and he does it. He just acted on command, and it’s so funny because he’s such a professional.”

Baker also spoke during the interview about how she doesn’t memorize her promos. Rather she goes off of bullet points and then feeds off the crowd.

“You learn really quickly what works and what doesn’t. There’s a lot of moving parts to making something successful. I think I’m a prime example of people just improving over time with more TV exposure and getting more comfortable, but that comfort also comes with help from the back.”

Baker goes into further detail on these subjects in more during the interview. A link to the full discussion can be found here.

Britt Baker Reveals Her Influences, Ambitions In AEW

All Elite Wrestling’s Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has opened up about her personal influences that inspired her to chase her pro wrestling dreams.

Speaking with Wrestlezone, Baker highlighted the recent women’s revolution in WWE as being a significant turning point for her.

“Instead of diving further back to the fandom as a child, more recently when I was training as an independent wrestler, that is really when women’s wrestling took to the forefront and really started this upward rise,” Baker stated.

She continued, “The women’s revolution—evolution—that, for me, major influencing on that was the Four Horsewomen of WWE: Bayley, Becky, Charlotte, and Sasha. And I think all women today, we have them to thank to some extent because, whether you like it or not, they had a huge role in women’s wrestling being where it is today. They fought through the two-minute matches and the 20-second segments. So, for them to kind of stick through it and keep grinding, that really benefits the rest of us.”

Looking to the future, Baker admits that she wants to help AEW continue to innovate and entertain fans. She explained that they are committed to providing an alternative, highlighting that competition is excellent for everyone.

Dr. Britt Baker Discusses Adam Cole Supporting AEW

All Elite Wrestling’s Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has revealed that she and her boyfriend, NXT Champion Adam Cole, spend their Thursday night’s catching up with each other’s shows.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Baker talked about how the two would text and call each other right up until AEW: Dynamite and NXT go live.

“We are texting and calling each other for encouragement right up until the moment we go out the curtain,” Baker revealed. “It can be a little heartbreaking when it’s the biggest night of his career or the biggest night of my career and we can’t be there. Because we’re each other’s biggest fans and, as a fan, you want to be there and feel the energy. You want to experience it. So, it’s a little discouraging.”

She explained how Cole is supportive of AEW and maintains close friendships with AEW Executive Vice Presidents Matt and Nick Jackson.

“[…] we sit at home and watch each other’s matches,” she said. “We actually watch each other’s whole show. We support each other’s company. My boyfriend is basically best friends with The Young Bucks, so he’s very supportive of All Elite Wrestling.”

Baker competed this week on Dynamite. She lost to reigning AEW Women’s Champion Riho in a championship match.

Britt Baker Doesn’t Want To Be Known As Just The First Woman Signed By AEW, Hopes To Be Women’s Champion

Britt Baker was the first woman to be signed to All Elite Wrestling and became one of the top names in the division. Baker says she wants to be remembered more than just being the first woman to be signed to the company, and she’ll achieve that by capturing the AEW Women’s Championship.

Baker will be challenging All Elite Wrestling Women’s Champion Riho for the title this Wednesday, October 16 at AEW Dynamite.

Baker believes that now that the Women’s Championship has been established in AEW, one has to capture it to be considered the best.

“I always like to keep the mentality that the next big thing is steps ahead of you, because if not it’s really easy to get discouraged and stay down on yourself. But I definitely did not see [2019] being quite so explosive in my world, per se,” Baker told Sportskeeda in a recent interview. “I was the first woman signed to AEW so I was catapulted right away to the top just for that basic fact… But now there’s a Women’s Championship introduced, so now to be the best you have to be the champion. So I don’t want to just be the first woman signed anymore, I want to be the World Champion and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”

Baker is relatively new to wrestling and only made her debut back in August 2015. Baker was studying to become a healthcare professional.

Baker has studied behavioral medicine with a minor in human development and family studies at Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from Penn State in 2014 but decided to pursue a degree in dental medicine, enrolling in the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. She is currently employed at a private practice in Winter Park, Florida.

Britt Baker Discusses Issues Between Herself And Bea Priestley

Ahead of All Elite Wrestling’s TNT premiere next week, AEW wrestler Dr. Britt Baker has admitted there is undeniable bad blood between herself and Bea Priestley. It was thanks to Priestley’s actions that Baker lost out on being involved in the inaugural AEW Women’s Championship matchup.

“I could say that I would have possibly just washed my hands with it,” Baker told WrestleZone, “but then costing me my title match, my title shot opportunity—which, from day one, all eyes have been on me essentially—because I am one of the faces of the women’s division. And that opportunity, I was essentially cheated out of it because of Bea Priestley. So now it is a war.”

She continued, “Clearly this isn’t a clean fight anymore because she hasn’t fought clean since day one. The second she stepped into the ring, she gave me a concussion. Her very first offensive move in an AEW ring was giving me a concussion. So, moving forward, I have this whole story just ingrained into my head.”

Turning her attention to the matchup between Nyla Rose and Riho to crown the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion, Baker tells fans they might be surprised. She called Riho one of the fastest wrestlers she’s ever seen, and that if she can evade Rose’s offense she may just surprise a lot of fans by emerging victorious.

AEW: Dynamite premieres October 2nd on TNT.

Britt Baker On How She Balances Two Careers

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) talent Britt Baker recently took part in a media scrum during Starrcast III where she detailed how she balances her life as an AEW wrestler and her profession as a dentist.

“You just can’t think about it,” she said. “It’s more of a don’t think, just do thing. When I wake up in the morning, I know I have to do this, this, this and this. It has to get done, and that’s what you do. You have to wake up, go to the office, do any after office paperwork, you have to go to the gym, you have to train and train, you eat, you get a little bit of sleep and then you do it again.”

Baker continued, “You can’t really stress and freak yourself out with everything there is to do, you just have to say “Hey, you have to do it, I’m going to do it, that’s it.”

She admitted that a lot of her patients are now starting to recognize her because of her work in AEW. Even when she’s backstage at a show, she’ll get people wanting to ask her dental advice. Despite this, Baker stated that she loves it when her worlds crossover as it allows her to flaunt her experience, which she finds rewarding.

Hangman Page & Britt Baker On Their Wrestling Personas

Campbell asked Page what his wrestling persona was like.

“It changes around a whole lot,” Page answered. “Sometimes I’m a good guy, sometimes I’m a bad guy. I like to think I’m always the good guy.”

When Campbell asked Baker if she was a “good guy” or “bad guy,” Baker asked him what he thought.

“You knock teeth out and put them back in, I feel like that’s grimey,” Campbell said.

“I’m pretty much a good guy but sometimes good guys have to do bad things to win,” Baker responded. “Every now and then sometimes you have to kick teeth out. I kicked a girl’s bow out on the PPV.”

Campbell then attempted to get Baker and Page to show him a few moves but a stagehand entered the scene and said they were not covered for that. The screen then cut away and when it returned the stagehand was lying unconscious on a broken table and Page looked nervous as if he had just done something he could get in trouble for.

Britt Baker On Balancing Her Jobs As Wrestler & Dentist

Current AEW wrestler Dr. Britt Baker who is a doctor by day and wrestler by night, talked about juggling both of her careers and how she manages to do it while speaking to Diva Dirt.

Baker has studied behavioral medicine with a minor in human development and family studies at Pennsylvania State University, and is currently employed at a private practice in Winter Park, Florida. Baker talked about being a doctor-cum-wrestler and how she ended up taking this unusual path.

“It was when I was graduating from undergrad at Penn State University and I was moving to Pittsburgh to start my dental school education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. That was right at the same time I enrolled in the IWC Wrestling Academy, also in Pittsburgh, and I literally started my training for both dentistry and wrestling at the same exact time, like within months of each other.”

Baker reveals that it takes mental toughness to juggle both drastically different careers. She has to sometimes manage both on the same day, which includes work at the dental office, working out in the gym and wrestling, etc.

“Sometimes that seems a bit daunting as far as, is there enough hours in a day to get everything done, but it’s just a matter of putting one step in front of the other and just trying to relax and get everything done; and that’s the part that has been… my secret to success is never panicking and just power forward and get everything done that needs to be done.”

Baker was asked which wrestlers inspired her and she named legends like Lita, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Edge as well as current female wrestlers such as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Natalya and Sasha Banks. She also said that her current boyfriend, WWE’s Adam Cole is also a huge inspiration to her.

“…I’m hugely inspired by Adam Cole, he’s obviously one of the most important people in my life. It may be biased, but I think he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world, and I love watching him wrestle and I love learning from him.”

Speaking with talkSPORT, Cole talked about Baker’s performance during AEW’s recent Double Or Nothing event. She competed in a Fatal 4 Way matchup against Kylie Ray, Nyla Rose, and surprise entrant, Awesome Kong.

Unsurprisingly, he’s incredibly proud of what she has achieved.

“So proud of her. Britt, and she’s going to kill me, but I think she’s been wrestling close to four years now, and she works so incredibly hard. At anything she does – I mean she’s a doctor!” he exclaimed. “So she’s a dentist, then she wrestles on the weekends, so for her to get this cool opportunity and wrestle on a cool stage like that was really a lot of fun for me – I’m so proud of her.”

Baker is a legitimate doctor and is employed by private dental practice in Winter Park, Florida. She was one of the first wrestlers to be revealed as a part of AEW and is seemingly primed for a top spot within the company.

The promotion plans to unveil their AEW Women’s Title at their All Out pay-per-view, which takes place on August 31st.

Britt Baker Signs With All Elite Wrestling

With all the excitement regarding the official announcement of All Elite Wrestling, it might be easy to forget that the roster for the new promotion needs to consist of more than just the Elite.

Well, the first official signing outside of the core Elite group has now been revealed. As reported by Dave Meltzer, this particular honor goes to Britt Baker.

Baker has worked for numerous companies around the world, including Stardom, RISE, Shimmer, and Ring Of Honor. She also featured as an alternate for the Mae Young Classic and even recently worked an NXT taping.

Britt took part in the historic All In event this past September. She competed in a fatal four way that also featured Tessa Blanchard, Madison Rayne, and Chelsea Green. Blanchard would wind up victorious during their matchup.

It’s worth noting that Meltzer also reported that Brandi Rhodes will instrumental in the development of AEW’s female roster. Cody recently clarified his position within the company, sharing an Executive Vice President role along with both Matt and Nick Jackson.
Dana Massie, who has been key in helming the Young Bucks’ merchandise empire, will oversee all merchandise for All Elite Wrestling.

Baker was one of the four wrestlers in the well-reviewed fatal 4-way match at All In. Tessa Blanchard came away with a victory from the match which also featured Madison Rayne and Chelsea Green.

The University of Pittsburgh wrote a feature on Baker last year. They likely haven’t had too many other pro-wrestlers graduate their dental program.

“I know a lot of people think wrestling is scripted, but now that I’ve learned more, I think of it more like improv,” Baker said in an article for the school website. “You never really know what’s going to happen.”

She also praised her fellow students and professors for helping her balance wrestling and studies.

“Dental school is competitive,” she said. “No one has to help each other, but the fact that they did, just knowing I was in a jam? We have really great people here.”
