The official YouTube channel for the WWE Performance Center has published a video today teasing a possible encounter between Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar. Riddle has made frequent public comments regarding Lesnar and there have been reports the two had a verbal altercation backstage at the Royal Rumble.
“I really wanted to get my hands on Brock,” Riddle says in the video. “You know, I saw him throwing everybody around. I don’t care what he says or what anybody says, I don’t care if he wants the match or not. I’m going to get it. I don’t care, it’s not up to him.”
“I don’t like being told no, especially when I work as hard as I do.”
WWE posted the following video to the WWE PC YouTube channel:
“NXT Superstar Matt Riddle competed in the 2020 Royal Rumble this past weekend, and he made sure to express his interest in facing WWE Champion Brock Lesnar,” a description of the video reads on YouTube.
Matt Riddle Posts About 2020 Royal Rumble Experience
Riddle posted to social media to say his Royal Rumble appearance didn’t go as planned. He also mentioned his big match on NXT this week along with Pete Dunne against the Grizzled Young Veterans.
As expected, Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre has been confirmed for WrestleMania 36.
This comes after McIntyre won the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble Match at the pay-per-view event on Sunday night in Houston, Texas. In fact, with the help of Ricochet, McIntyre eliminated “The Beast” from the contest.
Now, he’ll be facing off with Lesnar for the WWE Title at the biggest event of the year for WWE.
As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in San Antonio, TX at the AT&T Center on the USA Network, McIntyre opened the show where he revealed which title he would be going after at Mania.
This led to him beating Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a Handicap Match. After the contest, he was attacked by Lesnar with an F5.
This contest was expected to be confirmed and also marks the first match announced thus far for WrestleMania 36.
WWE presents the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.

Things apparently got interesting between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle as an incident occurred. Ryan Satin of WWE Backstge reported that they got into a backstage verbal altercation prior to Royal Rumble in Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park.
It was noted that details are scarce at this time but they were told the two stars passed each other while walking backstage and a tense encounter ensued. This is where it was noted that Lesnar saw Riddle and wanted him to know the reality of the situation between them.
Per the report, the encounter was real and not something for the show. It should also be noted that they did not get physical and kept it verbal.
Earlier this month, Riddle was teasing on his social media accounts that he could have a showdown with “The Beast.”
This comes after Riddle had an awkward interaction with Goldberg last year at SummerSlam after criticizing the WWE Hall of Famer on social media and interviews.
With Lesnar, Riddle has made it clear for years that he wants to not only take on Lesnar in the squared circle but wants to retire him at WrestleMania, which is the biggest event of the year for WWE.
Drew McIntyre recently spoke with TV Insider where he showed interest in one certain showdown, which is a potential encounter with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
He won’t have to wait long to share the ring with “The Beast” as they could fight in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match as Lesnar will be entering as the first entrant.
McIntyre brought up how it’s a big deal that Lesnar will be entering the match first and it’s never happened like this before as Lesnar is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. He thinks it will be interesting to see how it plays out and hopes he will be able to wrestle Lesnar.
Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar?
McIntyre brought up how there hasn’t been a confrontation between himself and Lesnar since he came back. He recalled them exchanging when he was younger and he got the upper hand. Since then, things have changed as he’s bigger and strong than he was at the time.
Obviously, with the winner of this match getting to pick whether they will challenge Lesnar for the WWE Title or the winner of Sunday’s Strap Match between Daniel Bryan and WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, McIntyre could face Lesnar for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 36.
McIntyre made it clear that he will go after Lesnar if he wins.
“If I won the Rumble, it’s the same guy I’ve had in mind for years. I’d fight Brock Lesnar in a second,” McIntyre declared. “A lot of people on the roster genuinely wouldn’t want to get in the ring with him. They are terrified of the idea. I want to get in the ring with him. I know we could put on a heck of a spectacle and a fight.”
The reason for his decision is to bring the title back to the show on a full-time basis.
“There aren’t many who can stand toe-to-toe with me. That’s someone I definitely want. He gets this criticism that he doesn’t show up to work all the time and this and that. The way I look at it, he was offered the contract. He signed the contract. It’s not his fault. The only problem I have is the title is not on the shows and live events. We need the title back.”
WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle got fans talking over a recent post on his official Twitter account.
This post has fans speculating on a possible Royal Rumble Match appearance. It has also led to some fans having hope that he could have a potential showdown with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
Riddle has previously talked about his desire to share the squared circle with “The Beast” in the past.
In the post, Riddle shared an older photo of a backstage sign showing directions to Lesnar’s locker room. He wrote in the caption,
“All I’m gonna say is watch WWE this week, [poop emoji] is about to get wild #stallion #ob #originalbro #kingofbros #splx #nxt #royalrumble2020.”
WWE has yet to confirm whether NXT will have any involvement in the Men’s and/or Women’s Royal Rumble matches.
Competitors thus far confirmed for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match include the following:
Brock Lesnar in the #1 spot, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Erick Rowan, King Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Otis, Tucker, Elias, Aleister Black, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, R-Truth, Braun Strowman, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins, RAW Tag Team Champion Buddy Murphy, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Kofi Kingston, Big E
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar appeared on the January 13th episode of RAW alongside his ‘advocate’ Paul Heyman for a promo segment. During said promo segment then 24/7 Champion R-Truth appeared and cut a humorous promo, which involved threatening to eliminate Paul Heyman from the Royal Rumble match.
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently revealed that the segment between the two Superstars was completely ‘unscripted.’ Henry said that the idea was to have Brock not ‘mentally prepared’ for the segment so that he would react naturally.
“the business of that segment was to get Brock Lesnar to crack”
Henry appeared on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio alongside Bully Ray, who said “Mark. Let’s pull back the curtain a little bit okay? Because obviously the ‘business’ of that segment was to entertain on TV, but you know damn well backstage that the business of that segment was to get Brock to crack.” Henry then confirmed that the entire section with R-Truth appearing was completely unscripted: “Yes. And from what I’m understanding. Brock didn’t even know that was going to happen. It was completely kayfabe. That’s what I’m getting.”
“I never seen Brock Lesnar laugh that much since I’ve known him”
Henry also confirmed that his sources for the story were completely reliable. “It was was designed for Brock not to me mentally prepared to block it. And it worked because I never seen Brock laugh that much since I’ve known him.”
“the more that I saw Brock’s reaction? I realised it was true.”
Both Bully and Henry both claimed that Brock Lesnar has huge respect for Truth, as he is a veteran in the business. Therefore he would not have been ‘angry’ that Truth was trying to make him laugh live on television. It was also then revealed by Henry that Brock also had no idea that Truth would even be appearing for the segment. “This was purely Heyman and Truth” Henry revealed. “When I heard it, I was like, No, no. [But] like the more that I saw Brock’s reaction? I realised it was true. That’s the only way that he could break like that. There was no acting. Brock was reacting. And it was absolutely beautiful.”
It’s interesting that with the heavily scripted natured of WWE programming that such a big segment would be so ‘loose’ in structure. Although Henry did not reveal his source at WWE he is still a major name behind the scenes, so it is likely that he would have reliable contacts. We do not know at this time if the ‘unscripted’ style will be used with Brock going forward, or if it was just purely used as an entertaining aside for RAW heading into the Royal Rumble.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had some interesting points relating to the upcoming Royal Rumble event. It’s been made official that NXT competitors will be part of the match this year. Although NXT talents have appeared in the past this makes the brand stand head to head with both RAW and SmackDown. With this in mind Bully made a point on Busted Open Radio that WWE could easily ‘make’ a new megastar in the match, namely NXT’s Keith Lee.
“We talk about WrestleMania moments, how about a Royal Rumble moment?” Bully began. “Lets MAKE Keith Lee, by having him go face to face with Brock Lesnar. That’s how you help a guy to get over. I’m talking about a moment in time. Keith Lee and Brock Lesnar face to face. The moment those two start staring at each other dead in the eyes? That place will come unglued. But [then] I wouldn’t put it past WWE to do something different.”
Brock Lesnar will enter the 2020 Royal Rumble
Bully also then made the point that he believes there is a bigger main event for WrestleMania this year. “If I was them [WWE], I don’t think we can get a bigger main event than Brock and CM Punk. But there are other scenarios that I have that don’t include Punk. Since Brock is great at ‘making’ guys, If the WWE by chance wanted to call Keith Lee up, although I don’t think its the right time. I don’t put it past Brock to give Keith Lee the same moment that the Undertaker gave Maven years ago.”
Ray’s co-host Dave LeGreca then posed the idea of keeping Keith Lee on NXT even if he wins the Royal Rumble match itself. “I think that you could. But then I don’t know what the build would be” Bully claimed. “These are just ideas that pop into my head, if you gave me five minutes I could make a story. Theres no reason why you can’t keep Keith Lee on NXT and keep the storyline with Brock concurrent. But, does Keith Lee eliminate Brock in the middle of the match? Or does Keith Lee actually WIN the Royal Rumble? How different would that be? How shocking would that be? And how much credibility does that give NXT?”
It was also discussed on the show if an NXT performer wins the Rumble match could they challenge for the NXT title in the WrestleMania main event? Bully Ray stated that just could not happen. “You CAN’T have someone like Keith Lee win the Royal Rumble and say ‘nah, I don’t want a shot at the Universal Championship. Nah, I don’t want a shot at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.’ I want a shot at the NXT Championship.’ That takes all of the shine and all of the focus off of the two biggest Championships in WWE. I don’t think Vince would ever let that fly.”
WWE made a very interesting announcement on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw when Brock Lesnar came out and confirmed that he will be entering the Royal Rumble match as the #1 entrant.
There have been lots of rumors about his participation in
the match since then and there have been speculations that his entry in the
bout could be a way to set up his WrestleMania 36 match.
Another star who has been in news recently is Edge. He has been subject to reports of a possible return. So this development has led many to wonder if these two stars will cross paths at the upcoming PPV and set up a match for the Show Of Shows.
However, Dave Meltzer cleared up these rumors on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and he confirmed that Edge vs. Brock Lesnar is not one of the planned matches for the upcoming edition of WrestleMania.
WWE Hall of Famer and Busted Open Radio co-host Bully Ray has an interesting theory about Brock Lesnar’s role in the 2020 Royal Rumble match.
As seen on Monday’s WWE RAW, Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman appeared on the show to drop a bombshell announcement. The reigning WWE Champion is not only entering the Rumble match. He has opted to be the first entrant.
Brock Lesnar Brings the Intrigue
On Tuesday’s episode of of Busted Open, Bully Ray explained why the announcement is so intriguing. “Brock is entering the rumble at number one, if you’re intrigued that means you’re going to tune in,” he began. “Now what they give us is gravy. Why would Brock Lesnar, the WWE champion, be entering the royal rumble at number one? Well it’s really quite simple. Who should be challenging Brock Lesnar right now? Who’s intriguing enough to challenge him right now?”
Bully Ray then made the point to co-host Dave LeGreca that there’s arguably no one in WWE who is at Brock Lesnar’s level. “Who’s the credible person on the raw roster that you think at this very moment as of late last night could stand in the ring with Brock? Like where you actually think they have a shot at beating him?”
“…We want to see Drew get this push”
In terms of legitimate threats to Brock Lesnar, only one name stood out to Bully Ray. “Drew [McIntyre] looks the part,” he said. “We want to see Drew get this push and for them do more with Drew. But they’re in a transitional stage with Drew, they’re turning Drew babyface little by little. That ‘three two one’ gimmick, that stiff kick to the face…he’s going to get that over. He should be doing that ‘three two one’ every single time he does the claymore kick.”
“We’re not going to take the punk ass route and hope we get number thirty.”
Bully also talked about how the story was legimatised from a storyline perspective. “Say you’re looking this from a storyline point of view. I’m the WWE champion, just as Paul said in the promo there are no challengers, or no credible challengers. So if we have no credible challengers we’re going to try to do the most credible thing we could possibly do.”
He continued, “We’re going to win the Royal Rumble; as the WWE champion and oh by the way we’re not going to take the punk ass route and hope we get number thirty. We’re going to take the warrior route and enter ourselves at number one. And I’m going to eliminate every single person that comes in that ring. And I’m going to win the Royal Rumble.”
“…whoever 30 is, is probably going to be a big surprise and most likely will eliminate Brock Lesnar and set up your match for WrestleMania 36”
Ray also talked about a potential main event for WrestleMania stemming from the Rumble match that would mean that Brock gets eliminated.
“What do you think is going to happen especially if number thirty is a massive surprise?,” he asked. “What if number thirty eliminates Brock? Well you just set something up that’s, probably, first of all needed for WrestleMania this year; and number two since I kindly answered your question; that there really isn’t anybody on the roster that really gets me excited to face Brock Lesnar here’s your answer. I think you hold the key right there. Whoever thirty is. Is probably going to be a big surprise and most likely will eliminate Brock Lesnar and set up your match for WrestleMania 36.”
The playing field for the main event of WrestleMania is wide open, at this stage. The 30th entrant eliminating Brock Lesnar might just be the rocket fuel WWE needs to jumpstart WrestleMania season and set up a match fans actually want to see.
We now know what Brock Lesnar’s role at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event will be.
WWE kicked off Monday’s episode of RAW in Oklahoma City, OK at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on the USA Network with a promo by Paul Heyman alongside the WWE Champion in the ring.
Heyman cut a promo about how Lesnar has done several historic things in his career but at the Royal Rumble, he will do something unprecedented. This is where Heyman announced that Lesnar won’t be defending the WWE Championship at this show.
Instead, “The Beast” will be competing in the actual Royal Rumble Match. Heyman also revealed that Lesnar will be starting out the match as the first entrant.
Heyman ended his promo by saying that Lesnar will be the first and last man in the match and that’s a spoiler, according to the humble advocate.
Lesnar joins Roman Reigns, Elias, Braun Strowman, and Cesaro as competitors thus far confirmed competing in this 30-man contest.
“The Beast” won this contest back in 2003 at the Fleet Center in Boston by last eliminating The Undertaker. The last time that he worked the Royal Rumble Match was in 2017 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas where he entered at #26 but was eliminated by Goldberg.
WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Sunday, January 26, 2020 Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park and airs on the WWE Network.
WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks including competitors for both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches
What are your thoughts on Brock Lesnar not defending the WWE Title but rather competing in the Royal Rumble Match?
Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE television has been announced by the company and it’s right around the corner.
The WWE Champion is slated to make his next appearance on next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. That’s not all, two big championship matches have also been confirmed.
Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade for United States Title and Viking Raiders defending the RAW Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits and The OC in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match are also set.
Andrade beat Mysterio to win the United States Title last Thursday night at a house show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Brock Lesnar’s Return Set After Absent
Lesnar was expected to make his return to WWE television soon as December is typically when Lesnar takes time off before the Royal Rumble and then is featured on television for the most part until WrestleMania.
The start of Lesnar’s next program is likely to happen on this episode of RAW that way it can lead to a match being booked at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on Sunday, January 26, 2020.
WWE holds this show in Oklahoma City, OK at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on the USA Network, which will serve as the first episode of Monday Night RAW of the new year.
The company will announce more matches and segments for the show as it gets closer.
With WrestleMania 36 coming up, speculation on who will be Brock Lesnar’s opponent at the show has begun.
Right now is typically when Lesnar takes time off before the Royal Rumble and then is featured on television for the most part until WrestleMania.
WWE likes to keep plans for Lesnar under wraps that way word doesn’t get out before they can announce who he’ll be working with at the biggest event of the year for the company.
Brock Lesnar’s Opponent Unknown
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that although there’s still no word yet on who Lesnar will be facing at WrestleMania with the WWE Title likely on the line, it won’t be against Cain Velasquez or Tyson Fury.
Per the report, although Lesnar is scheduled for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, there’s no word on who he will be wrestling at the event. There’s also no word yet on if he will be defending the WWE Championship or appearing in the actual Rumble match.
It wouldn’t be the first time that a top champion has worked the actual Rumble match instead of defending the title but that hasn’t happened in years.
Lesnar had retained the WWE Title over Velasquez at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Halloween in Saudi Arabia.
The WWE Champion has yet to wrestle Fury but Fury has stated that he wants a match with Lesnar. That will be on hold for now as Fury takes on Deontay Wilder in February.
WWE presents the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.
UFC legend Frank Mir recently appeared on the Chris Van Vliet podcast. The man who defeated Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut made some interesting comments regarding his own journey from the octagon to the squared circle. Somewhere that he envisions himself being in the future, potentially facing ‘The Beast Incarnate’ himself.
Frank Mir 1 – Brock Lesnar 1
During the interview CVV pointed out that Mir and Brock Lesnar are 1-1 in their MMA ‘feud’. Lesnar took the loss in his aforementioned UFC debut by submission. Brock Lesnar would then revenge this loss by TKO against Mir later in his MMA career. Van Vliet asked Frank Mir if he felt he could have a deciding fight against the current WWE Champion. “Right now he [Lesnar] is retired in MMA so I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get that. I think it only makes sense that the two of us fight again. I made him tap the first time, he finished me with strikes the second time. Both the fights I think were exciting for people to watch. I’m sure it bothers him every time people talk to him about me. I made him tap, I made him scream uncle. He sat there and slapped my leg asking the referee to save him from disfigurement.”
“…he kicked my ass in one of the fights”
Mir elaborated further, saying “he [Brock Lesnar] has to sleep with that. Same thing with me, he kicked my ass in one of the fights, I didn’t know where I was. Why wouldn’t he wanna go there and finish it off one last time?”
“PLEASE tell me no-one else thinks this guy is ‘just’ a pro wrestler!?”
Frank Mir also talked about how he was pressured before their first fight. “I was backstage getting ready for the fight. One of the fighters on that card, I can’t remember his name, this kid comes up to me and says ‘hey man, you gotta do this. It’s MMA versus Pro Wrestling.’ I looked around and I was like ‘oh, you think he’s a pro wrestler? PLEASE tell me no-one else thinks this guy is ‘just’ a pro wrestler!?’ The dude’s a National Champion wrestler, like legitimately. So then that actually put a lot of pressure on me, cause I’m sitting there going ‘people are going to think that he’s just a pro wrestler? NO!’ Give me anybody else, most of the pro wrestlers don’t have a background in combat. I think that’s why wrestling looks the way it looks, they don’t really know what an armbar is.”
UFC fighter and lifelong WWE fan Daniel Cormier recently sat down with BT Sport. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion discussed WWE during the interview, including the recent Cain Velasquez vs Brock Lesnar match that took place at Crown Jewel in October. BT Sport will be taking WWE programming over from Sky Sports in the UK starting in 2020.
“I’ve talked with the WWE on a number of occasions, they want to work together,” Cormier claimed. “I almost came to the press conference for Brock [Lesnar] vs. Cain [Velasquez] to play the role of a fight builder. Unfortunately, my scheduling didn’t work.” Lesnar defeated Velasquez in quick fashion at the Crown Jewel event. Velasquez has not been featured on WWE television since the bout.
Daniel Cormier also revealed that he had been offered a deal to work with FOX. This would be for WWE Backstage. “I got an offer to work that new show, WWE Backstage. Obviously, it didn’t work with the new relationship with [the UFC and] ESPN. But we are constantly trying to get me involved in the product. As a big time fan of the WWE, nothing makes me happier. I’ve got some great opportunities, man. I’m lucky. I’ve got some things outside of the octagon that’s gonna carry me for a long time.”
Brock Lesnar’s ‘advocate’ Paul Heyman saw the video and responded via Twitter, seemingly coaxing Daniel Cormier to jump to WWE and get in the ring with Lesnar. “It’s easy to garner publicity calling out the top box office attraction. @dc_mma can’t hang w/ @BrockLesnar in the #Brocktagon nor a @WWE ring, and he can’t hang with me on the mic. MAYBE he could TRY to hang with Brock on the mic and me in the ring … MAYBE!!!”
"I've talked to WWE on a number of occasions, they want to work together"
"I had an offer to work #WWEBackstage on @WWEonFOX."@dc_mma LOVES this business and we hope we get to see him involved ?
WWE Legend The Undertaker has revealed he has no recollection of his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. It was this match that broke ‘Taker’s WrestleMania undefeated record, ending his 21 match winning streak.
Speaking with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on his WWE Network show, The Broken Skull Sessions, The Undertaker talked about that night. When asked by Austin if he thinks he should have retired from in-ring competition following the match, ‘Taker replied:
“That is the million-dollar question. It could have been. The thing with this match is, not everybody knows but somewhere within the first five minutes I get concussed,” revealed Taker. “I don’t even remember this night. I’ve watched it back now but my last memory happened about 3:30 in the afternoon when my wife came backstage and we had a conversation.”
“This Shook Me Up”
He reflected on how he had no memory of being checked on after the match. He recalled walking through Gorilla afterwards and then being in the hospital. Even after multiple viewings of their matchup, ‘Taker revealed he still can’t pinpoint where he became concussed.
“I watched [the match] back 10-15 times now and I can’t pick out where it [getting concussed] happened,” Undertaker said. “It was nothing Brock did. I think him not knowing I was concussed…when I watch it I can tell I’m lethargic. I’m not moving and thinking normally. This screwed me up. This screwed up my confidence. You would think after a career of 25 years that you wouldn’t get shook up. Well, that’s a false belief because this shook me up.”
When asked if he has any intentions to return to the ring in the future, The Undertaker stressed how he is going to write his own story. He added that he will be in charge of his own ending in pro wrestling.
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is back on hiatus from WWE television.
It was reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lesnar will remain on hiatus until probably around January.
By looking at history, it’s likely although not confirmed that he will return to WWE programming in order to start the build for his next feud that will lead to a match being booked at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
Also, WWE isn’t advertising him for any upcoming episodes of Monday Night RAW, as of this writing.
Kofi Kingston dropped the WWE Title to Lesnar in the main event of the premiere episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center. This show marked the first episode on FOX and the 20 Anniversary Show.
Lesnar had retained the WWE Title over Velasquez at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Halloween in Saudi Arabia.
In his latest title defense, he beat Rey Mysterio in a No DQ Match to retain the WWE Title at the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena earlier this month.
This feud kicked off when Lesnar was involved in a program with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez where Mysterio served as his manager.
After Lesnar had retained the WWE Title over Velasquez at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Halloween in Saudi Arabia, Mysterio hit Lesnar several times with a chair. Throughout this rivalry, Lesnar attacked Mysterio’s son, Dominic.
Moving along to the November 4th episode of RAW, Lesnar hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show where he attacked backstage workers.
Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar. This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.
Mysterio cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and to take what’s most important to Lesnar, the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the show.
WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin believes that Brock Lesnar is “the guy” in WWE.
Speaking on the State of Combatpodcast, Austin was asked to name who he believes is the best wrestler of the past decade. He pointed to Lesnar’s impact and “it factor” as two contributing factors adding to his decision.
“With Brock, you can say ‘part-time’ or this or whatever, but when Brock goes to the ring, I still get a sense of danger or I sense that I don’t really know what he is going to do,” Austin said. “How often does he go to Suplex City? How bad did he really hurt somebody? What’s he going to do to this opponent or what is he going to do to dismantle him?”
He continued, “Brock Lesnar creates more questions in my mind than anybody else who has walked into the ring for the last 10 years, no question in my mind. Cena is up there with the top of the top, but moving past that, Brock Lesnar, when he walks into an arena or steps into an Octagon, you always wonder what’s going to happen with that guy. He might not be around as much as many people would like, but as far as impact and pure ‘I have to watch this match’ factor, it’s hard to say a guy other than him.”
Austin’s new show, The Broken Skull Sessions, premieres this Sunday on the WWE Network.
WWE has added a stipulation to the scheduled contest between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series.
WWE had Paul Heyman cut a promo on Monday Night RAW where it was revealed that this match will be held under the No Holds Barred Match. This stipulation was added after Mysterio attacked Lesnar a few weeks ago with a pipe.
WWE presents the Survivor Series pay-per-view event on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena that will air on the WWE Network.

Kofi Kingston had an incredible run with the WWE title but a lot of fans were disappointed with the way his WWE championship reign ended during SmackDown’s Fox Premiere back in October.
During a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of Talk Sport, the former WWE Champion opened up about his title reign and his ‘disheartening’ loss to the Beast Brock Lesnar.
Kingston first talked about his long reign with the title but he then admitted that it was a disappointment to go out there and lose the championship so quickly on such an important night in SmackDown’s history:
“It was a bit of disappointment to go out there and have it go so quickly. On the biggest night of SmackDown. To have it end like that is a little bit disheartening, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. It’s not like I can do anything about it. “
Kofi wanted the chance to have an actual match with Brock for the WWE title on the first SD on FOX.
“It was a bit of disappointment to go out there and have it go so quickly.”

Though Kofi is keeping a positive outlook on the whole situation. He later said that you have to lose the title after winning it to become a multi-time champion and he is hopeful about more reigns in the future.
Kofi Kingston held the WWE Championship for almost 6 months after winning it at WrestleMania 35. However, he lost the title in quick fashion during the SmackDown 20th anniversary special after Brock Lesnar beat him with just one F5.
Brock Lesnar will get what he wants which is Rey Mysterio.
WWE did an angle on Monday’s episode of RAW in Uniondale, New York where the WWE Champion hunted down Mysterio for the first hour of the show as he attacked backstage workers.
Lesnar alongside Paul Heyman made their way out to the announce team where Lesnar hit an F-5 to Dio Maddin through the announce table after Maddin confronted Lesnar.
This is when Mysterio ran out and hit Lesnar several times with a pipe and eventually connected with a shot with the WWE Championship belt to Lesnar that left him laying.
Mysterio would cut a promo about how he wants Lesnar and take what’s most important to “The Beast”. That would be the WWE Title. This is when he challenged Lesnar for the title at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
Lesnar retained the WWE Title over Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel. Post-match, Mysterio hit Lesnar several times with a chair. Throughout this rivalry, Lesnar attacked Mysterio’s son, Dominick.

On Friday’s episode of SmackDown in Buffalo, New York at the KeyBank Center on FOX, the WWE Champion and Paul Heyman walked down to the ring to open the show.
In this segment, Heyman cut a promo about Lesnar beating former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in two minutes. The full match aired during this.
This led to Heyman talking about Lesnar being upset because of the chair shots he took from Rey Mysterio after the match.
Heyman would tell a story about how he told Vince McMahon to give him Mysterio but McMahon wouldn’t allow that. The reason for that is due to Mysterio being exclusive to RAW and Lesnar was exclusive to SmackDown.
Heyman would announce that Lesnar is quitting SmackDown and is slated to be on the hunt for Mysterio on Monday’s episode of RAW.
This could be done due to there being two top championships on the SmackDown brand.
Bray Wyatt beat Seth Rollins to win the WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel and because Wyatt is a SmackDown star, he took the championship with him to the show.
During yesterday’s WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez made his WWE in-ring debut. He faced off current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar with the title on the line.
The match itself, however, was a short-lived affair, ending in Lesnar submitting Velasquez via kimura in two minutes and three seconds. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE always intended to have their clash be a quick encounter.
The reason behind this decision is due to Velasquez’s knee being in poor condition. It’s believed he requires knee surgery in order to remedy the issues. At the time of writing, there is no indication as to when he might receive the operation, or how long he may be healing for afterwards.
WWE was aware of his knee problems, as well as the possibility of surgery, when they initially signed him. Prior to signing with WWE, Velasquez had been in talks with All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Cain Velasquez is signed to a three-year contract, though it is not known whether WWE intended to use him as a regular talent or as more irregular featured Superstar.
He is apparently still scheduled to team with Rey Mysterio in a tag team match against Andrade and Drew McIntyre. This bout is set to take place at a WWE Live Event in Mexico City on Saturday, November 30th.
Cain Velasquez made his WWE in-ring debut when he took on Brock Lesnar for the first time inside of the squared circle.
The former UFC Heavyweight champion wasn’t able to conquer the WWE Champion in one of the biggest matches held at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This was a quick match that only lasted about two minutes. The finish saw Velasquez drop him with a head kick and Cain swarmed him with strikes on the ground. Lesnar locked in the kimura and Velasquez tapped out. Post-match, Rey Mysterio attacked Lesnar with a chair after a brief brawl.
This marked the second time that they competed against each other as they previously fought under the banner of the UFC.
Velasquez defeated Lesnar by TKO to win the UFC Heavyweight Title at the UFC 221 pay-per-view in 2010.
This match was reported about a few weeks prior to Velasquez making his WWE television debut and signing lucrative, multi-year deal with WWE.
It will be interesting to see when Velasquez makes his next WWE appearance as it was reported prior to him signing with the company that he needed to undergo knee surgery.
WWE set up this match back on the Friday Night SmackDown premiere episode just days after Lesnar attacked Rey Mysterio and his son on Monday Night RAW. On SmackDown, the former UFC star attacked Lesnar after he won the WWE Title from Kofi Kingston.
