Big Show recently did an interview with TMZ Sports where he gave a preview of the upcoming match between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel.
Show talked about Lesnar being on the warpath over the last few years and how Lesnar is more faster, seasoned, and confident than Velasquez.
The former WWE Champion was asked if he can see Velasquez take the belt from Lesnar, which Big Show corrected him by saying its a championship or title after staying “No, I don’t think so.”
This led to Show talking about fans complaining that Velquez is already getting a WWE Title shot in his in-ring debut.
“You’re never going to make everyone happy. Some people say you’re rushing too much, or you’re taking too long. Everybody’s going to have an opinion. My advice is to sit back, watch the show, and enjoy it, quit trying to direct it.”
The October 25th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown will feature appearances by Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez.
This will be an interesting episode of the show due to it being the first time that it will air on FOX Sports (FS1) instead of FOX. The show is being moved for one week due to the MLB playoffs.
The episode is shaping up to be a big show as not only will Lesnar and Velasquez make an appearance, but also WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan are featured in the advertisement sent out by the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri that is hosting the show.
This could be the final TV appearances for Lesnar and Velasquez before Crown Jewel as they are not advertised for the following RAW TV event that will be held days before Crown Jewel.
The following is being advertised for the show by the arena:
– Cain Velasquez and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will be “under the same roof”
– WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan appear
– Roman Reigns vs. King Baron Corbin
– RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley
WWE concluded the Drafts on this week’s episode of Monday
Night Raw and probably the biggest change of the same was Brock Lesnar being
moved to SmackDown Live.
The latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some update on the situation and reveals the reason why The Beast Incarnate was moved to the Blue Brand.
According to the Newsletter, Officials from the Fox Network
wanted either Ronda Rousey or Brock Lesnar as their big sports star and since
Rousey was not available for the draft, the decision was made to put Lesnar on
the show.
It’s likely that the company had planned this move from a
while since Brock’s WWE Championship win over Kofi Kingston played an important
part in this switch.
As far as Brock’s next opponent Cain Velasquez is concerned, it’s said that there is no word yet on which brand the former UFC Champion will end up on.
In theory, he should be a part of the Raw brand due to his association with Raw star Rey Mysterio but the now-former UFC star is currently not listed as part of either of the rosters.
WWE has also not provided any update on his future after his upcoming match and it’s likely that the company will only address his status after the upcoming Crown Jewel event is in the books.
Cain Velasquez is currently scheduled to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the upcoming Crown Jewel event on October 31.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez has sent a warning to WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
The newly signed WWE star did so as a way to hype their feud ahead of their match at WWE Crown Jewel. He used two languages when he took to his official Twitter account to send out the tweet.
The tweet translates to, “I’ve defeated @BrockLesnar before. That was business, now this is about family. Business became personal. I already beat @BrockLesnar. That was business but now … it’s about family.”
He also tagged Turki Al-Sheikh, who works with WWE on their events in the Kingdom as the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, in the message.
This match was set up after Velasquez decided to retire from the sport of MMA and sign a lucrative, multi-year deal with WWE.
Velasquez has appeared on the first two episodes of Friday Night SmackDown to help build this feud and is expected to appear on TV leading up to their match.
WWE holds the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium and will air on the WWE Network.
Bobby Lashley has in the past and once again pushed for a match against WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
He did so while speaking with Spandex while at a WWE 2K20 press event. This is where he recalled meeting “The Beast” for the first time while in Saudi Arabia.
“It’s like the elephant in the room, does anybody see it? It’s so weird because I don’t know him. I’ve really never met him. I’ve really never said more than three words to him. I met him in passing a couple of times. Saudi was the first time I met him. Literally ‘Hey, what’s up?’ Boom, boom and that was about it.”
Lashley continued by stating that he never said more than two words to him before that but thinks there’s a little mystique there and also for him.
Lashley added, “Just being in the fighting world, man, I’ve trained and fought with some of the people that he’s fought with and man, it’s got to happen. It’s got to happen before I hit 50.”
Bobby Lashley Believes He Will Eventually Wrestle Brock Lesnar
This has been a match that Lashley has been talking about for years now as up until a few years ago, they were not in the same promotion. Obviously, that has changed.
Time will tell whether Lashley gets to achieve his goal.
The match between Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar that is set to take place at Crown Jewel has gotten a big update.
The WWE has issued that the match between the two is now going to be a WWE Championship match for Lesnar’s title.
When WWE announced the match at the press conference between Lesnar and Velasquez on Friday in Las Vegas, the WWE Championship was not mentioned. The match was set to be a non-title one.
But now that it’s a title match, the former UFC Champion has a chance to win the WWE Championship in his in-ring debut for the wrestling company.
WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Thursday, October 31, 2019, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks. Here is the updated card:

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez for the WWE Championship
Two of the biggest matches in recent WWE history have been booked.
WWE held a press conference on Friday afternoon at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada where the company announced these matches for Crown Jewel.
First up is pro heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury taking on Braun Strowman in a singles match. The other match will see WWE Champion Brock Lesnar take on former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez.
These matches have been reported for over a week now but WWE has officially announced them. Both contests were set up on the premiere episode of Friday Night SmackDown last week.

New Day member Kofi Kingston recently lost his WWE Championship to a returning Brock Lesnar. He lost a short match during SmackDown’s premiere on FOX. Taking to his podcast, The Hall of Fame, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T argued that he would like to see Big E to step up and feud with ‘The Beast Incarnate.’
“I can see him competing with Brock Lesnar on a one-on-one scale. Just because, the guy is low center of gravity, but, he’s just as wide, and probably weighs more than Brock Lesnar. And a guy like that, literally, from a fighting standpoint, it would really be hard for a guy like Brock Lesnar, fighting a guy like that, just because, the strength. Who are you going to give it to?”
He continued, “In a strength matchup, I’m going to give the strength matchup to Big E 100 percent of the time. Seriously, every time. Just say, for instance, being that size, and the quickness that Big E has, from a realistic wrestling match, he could get under Brock Lesnar a whole lot quicker than Brock Lesnar can get under him. I look at it from that perspective right there.”
Booker argued that Big E isn’t featured as much as he should be, adding that not only does he deserve more air time, but that “the guy definitely can become a star” if given the right opportunity at the right time.
A couple of big matches which WWE has hinted in the past
week are expected to take place at the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV and it appears
that the company is going to make them official this Friday night.
The promotion has sent out an advisory to local media that a press conference will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this Friday, October 11.
The noteworthy thing here is the list of names that are expected to be a part of the conference including Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, Cain Velasquez, Rey Mysterio, Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman.
Out of these people, both Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury made
their WWE debuts this past Friday Night during SmackDown’s premiere on Fox
Network.
Cain attacked Brock Lesnar after the Beast beat Kofi
Kingston in their WWE Championship match while Tyson teased tension with Braun
Strowman earlier in the episode.
The Heavyweight Boxer and the Monster Among Men met again this past Monday Night and their confrontation ended in a big brawl indicating that the two will be competing against each other in near future.
While WWE has not confirmed the agenda for the press conference, it’s very likely that the company will confirm Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury vs. Braun Strowman matches which are reportedly slated for the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV.
With Brock Lesnar back on television and the WWE Champion, WWE is starting to advertise him for more shows.
Those shows are not Monday Night RAW TV events like in the past, which is the brand that he had been featured on since making his return to the company in 2012.
Instead, Lesnar has been announced for WWE Friday Night SmackDown TV events as SmackDown is now the A-show as it airs on FOX.
WWE’s official website is now advertising him to appear on the November 22nd event in Chicago, Illinois. Also, the Daily Update on F4Wonline notes that he’s locally advertised for the December 27th show in Detroit, Michigan where he’ll face Kofi Kingston in a dark match.
His move to SmackDown comes after he beat Kingston for the WWE Title last Friday night. As noted, he’s also advertised for the next pay-per-view event, Crown Jewel.
Kofi Kingston has issued a statement on no longer being WWE Champion.
Kingston expressed his feelings in this post that he wrote on his official Twitter account:
“Once again, I’m so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love I’ve seen on here over the last 24 hours. As a WWE Superstar, one always hopes to experience moments in this industry that have a real and positive impact on people’s lives. Judging by all of these messages, I’d say that mission’s been accomplished.
And again, without all of you and your support, none of this happens, so thank you all for letting me live out my childhood dream to the fullest. I am forever indebted to you.
I’m not sure what comes next, but I will always be so proud and honored to have been your champion… “
Kingston dropped the WWE Title to Brock Lesnar in the main event of the premiere episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center.
This show marked the first episode on FOX and the 20 Anniversary Show. After the contest, things got interesting when former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez came to the ring and attacked Lesnar.
Shortly after Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston last night, Rey Mysterio’s music could be heard throughout Staples Center. The legendary luchador didn’t arrive alone. Along with Rey Mysterio came Cain Velasquez, the fighter who had defeated Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight title.
According to an update from the Wrestling Observer, the plan is for Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez to face each other in Saudi Arabia on October 31st at Crown Jewel.
“Lesnar vs. Velasquez is scheduled as the main event for the Oct. 31 Crown Jewel show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,” the report reads.
Further details regarding how long Cain has signed with WWE for are currently unavailable. It is being reported that WWE offered big money for the match, however

Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez At Crown Jewel
The match between Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez in Saudi Arabia will come 9 years and 8 days after Velasquez defeated Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 121 on October 23r,d 2010.
The only other match scheduled for the show in Saudi Arabia is a tag team match featuring Team Hogan going up against Team Flair.
Velasquez was interviewed backstage after the show:
While reports suggested that WWE was planting the seeds for
Cain Velasquez’s debut, nobody expected it to happen as soon as this week’s
episode of SmackDown Live.
The main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown which was
the show’s premiere episode on Fox Network saw Brock Lesnar challenging Kofi
Kingston for his WWE title.
The match didn’t last for very long and the Beast ended Kofi’s long reign to became the new WWE Champion after delivering just one F5 to the New Day member.
The action however didn’t stop there as the music of Rey
Mysterio was heard soon after Lesnar was handed the belt and Mysterio then made
his way to the ring.
Though Rey did not come alone and he brought the former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez with him, to take revenge for the beating Lesnar delivered to him and his son Dominick on Raw this past Monday night.
Velasquez went on to attack the new WWE Champion and the
segment ended with the Beast Incarnate retreating while Cain stood tall in the
ring.
Both Rey Mysterio and Cain Velasquez were interviewed backstage after the show was over and when asked about his attack on Lesnar, Velasquez said that he is here to get some payback:
It’s evident after this week’s SmackDown that WWE is
building towards a Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar match but we will have to
wait and see when it actually takes place.
“The Beast” dethroned Kofi Kingston as WWE Champion when he beat him on Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX. This show marked the first episode on FOX and the 20 Anniversary Show.
Lesnar did so in seconds as Kofi ran at Lesnar and Lesnar immediately hit an F5 for the win. Things got interesting after the match when Rey Mysterio walked out with Cain Velasquez to the ring.
Velasquez took him down and pounced on him with strikes until Lesnar retreated out of the ring to close the show.
It’s been reported that WWE was in talks with Velasquez but things hit a snag as Velasquez was also interested in signing with NJPW, AEW, and AAA full-time.
It appears that this angle has solidified his status with WWE. Velasquez’s appearance comes as part of the storyline that WWE started this past Monday night on RAW where Lesnar attacked Mysterio and his son.
We’ll have more on Velasquez’s appearance shortly.
This match between Kingston and Lesnar was set up back on the September 17 episode of SmackDown Live when Lesnar walked down to the ring where he had a staredown with Kingston.
Paul Heyman cut a promo about how Lesnar stands in the way of the longevity of Kingston’s WWE Title reign.
What are your thoughts on Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
Seth Rollins is still the WWE Universal Champion but things didn’t go as originally planned for him thanks to Brock Lesnar.
WWE held the RAW Season Premiere episode on Monday night from Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. This is where Rollins was supposed to defend his title against Rey Mysterio in a high priority match on the flagship show of the company.
In the opening segment, Mysterio was cutting a promo when Lesnar appeared and hit a series of F5’s. He would then attack Mysterio’s son, Dominick.
The company set this matchup between Mysterio and Rollins on last week’s show when a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine who would be next in line for a championship match took place.
Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, WWE US Champion AJ Styles, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Robert Roode competed in the contest.
As seen on the show, Mysterio ended up winning it. As a result, Mysterio had earned the right to challenge Rollins for the WWE Universal Title
The WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Sacramento, California at the Golden 1 Center.
WWE believes that they can draw big money with UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez taking on one of their biggest stars, which is Brock Lesnar.
It was noted over the weekend that the UFC star is currently in talks with WWE. While he’s interested in that possibility, he has expressed interest in potentially working with AEW or New Japan Pro Wrestling as well. He has had talks with AAA, who has already booked him at two shows and another one on the way.
Dave Meltzer reported on MMAFighting.com that part of WWE’s offer to the UFC would be for him to wrestle Lesnar. It was noted that Velasquez would likely undergo knee surgery before he made any long-term commitment to any pro wrestling promotion.
It was noted that WWE doesn’t have plans to use him as a high-flyer but rather would want him to portray a serious fighter, one who can be a legitimate rival to Lesnar.
The belief is that AAA wouldn’t be able to match an offer that he would get by WWE in the long term if he’s interested in making a transition into pro wrestling full-time due to their pay scale is much lower than in WWE.
WWE has made it clear that if they signed him then they want exclusivity just like with their other talent. It should be noted that AEW and AAA do have a working relationship, which would allow Cain to continue working in Mexico.
Velasquez defeated Lesnar by TKO to win the UFC Heavyweight Title at the UFC 221 pay-per-view in 2010.
WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has shared his thoughts ahead of his clash with Brock Lesnar next Friday during SmackDown’s FOX premiere.
Taking to Twitter, Kingston stated that the championship match is another opportunity for him to prove his doubters wrong. He also aims to prove those who believe in him right and show that nothing is impossible.
“One thing I’ve learned about myself is that I enjoy proving people wrong. Not as an “I told you so” but rather as a reminder that nothing is impossible. Next Friday, I get the chance to prove a lot of people wrong. And those who do believe in me, I get to prove them right!”
He continued, “When I do, hopefully believers and nonbelievers alike will see it feasible that they too can overcome the “impossibilities” they face in their own lives. 8 days…Friday night Smackdown is coming…#BeatBrock #Smackdown #Fox”
When I do, hopefully believers and nonbelievers alike will see it feasible that they too can overcome the “impossibilities” they face in their own lives.
The two have wrestled one another in the past during the 2015 WWE Network special, The Beast In The East, which took place in Tokyo, Japan. Lesnar defeated Kingston during this previous exchange.
Kingston and Lesnar compete for the WWE Championship on the blue brand’s FOX premiere on October 4th. This show also happens to coincide with SmackDown’s 20th Anniversary.
With Brock Lesnar challenging Kofi Kingston for his WWE Championship, alongside the amount of SmackDown dates he is appearing for, there is speculation that ‘The Beast Incarnate’ will soon be a blue brand exclusive. Many believe this move is being made to coincide with WWE’s deal with FOX.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, recently addressed the situation, saying:
“I kind of asked about that [Brock Lesnar situation] and I was told that one hand doesn’t know what the other hand is doing… who is on what roster is far more carefully kept secret,” he explained. “Only a few people know. But having said that, I thought that Lesnar was going to be on SmackDown anyway because of the [Kofi] Kingston [match].”
With the additional SmackDown Live dates, Lesnar will now be appearing at the following WWE shows:
Monday Night RAW on September 30th – Phoenix, Arizona
SmackDown Live on October 4th – Los Angeles, California
SmackDown Live on October 11th – Las Vegas, Nevada
SmackDown Live on October 25th – Kansas City, MO
SmackDown Live on November 15th – Philadelphia, PA
Lesnar will face Kingston next month on October 4th during the premiere episode of SmackDown Live on the FOX Network. This episode also happens to be a SmackDown 20th Anniversary Special and will take place in the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
With Brock Lesnar having his next program booked, WWE is putting him on the road again as he’s been advertised for more dates.
Those two dates include Night One Draft Edition of Friday Night SmackDown in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Center on October 11th as well as the October 25th edition in Kansas City, MO at the Sprint Center.
Lesnar had previously been advertised for three other shows including the episode of SmackDown that will host his next match. Lesnar could be announced for more shows in the coming weeks.
The former WWE Universal Champion will be challenging WWE Champion Kofi Kingston for the title next month. This match is set for the premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network.
This will be a 20th Anniversary special, takes place on October 4th from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
Here is an updated list of shows that Lesnar is advertised to appear:
Monday Night RAW on September 30th – Phoenix, Arizona
SmackDown Live on October 4th – Los Angeles, California
SmackDown Live on October 11th – Las Vegas, Nevada
SmackDown Live on October 25th – Kansas City, MO
SmackDown Live on November 15th – Philadelphia, PA
After his surprise appearance on this week’s episode of SmackDown
Live, The Beast Brock Lesnar is set to challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE
Championship at the show’s Fox Network debut on October 4rth.
However, latest advertisements suggest that this won’t be
the last time these two come face to face and they might get involved in a
rivalry starting with their upcoming bout.
The Wells Fargo Center, which is the arena hosting the
November 15th episode of SmackDown Live recently updated the advertising for the
upcoming show.
They are now advertising a number of matches and segments for the episode and one interesting segments which is being advertised is a confrontation between Lesnar and the current WWE Champion.
Other stars advertised for the show include Roman Reigns,
Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women’s
Champion Bayley, Daniel Bryan, Charlotte Flair, The New Day and more.
This episode will take place more than a month after Kofi
defends his title against the Beast Incarnate during the Blue Brand’s premiere
on Fox Network.
So it suggests that the rivalry between these two stars will extend beyond their upcoming match instead of it being a one-off bout on the upcoming show.
Brock Lesnar issued a challenge to Kofi Kingston during this week’s episode of SmackDown Live which Kingston accepted. The two will now face each other for the WWE Championship at the upcoming SmackDown episode on October 4.
Watch: Brock Lesnar returns to SmackDown Live to challenge Kofi Kingston:
Following his return to WWE television, the company is booking him for the September 30th edition of WWE RAW that takes place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
The official Twitter account of the arena has announced that the former WWE Universal Champion will be appearing on the show, which is being billed as the “Season Premiere”.
As of this writing, no matches have been announced for this event. The company is advertising the following stars to appear:
WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, The Miz, Alexa Bliss, Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles, and Braun Strowman.
? JUST ANNOUNCED: As if the season premiere of @WWE#RAW on Sept. 30 at Talking Stick Resort Arena wasn’t big enough, we are now getting an appearance by the ”Beast” Brock Lesnar!
This announcement comes after Lesnar made a surprise appearance on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.
This was done to announce that he would be challenging WWE Champion Kofi Kingston for the title next month.
This match is set for the premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network, which will be a 20th Anniversary special, takes place on October 4th from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
Lesnar could be announced for more shows in the coming weeks.
Last night, Brock Lesnar made an impactful return to SmackDown Live.
‘The Beast Incarnate’ appeared following a matchup between The New Day and The Revival and Randy Orton. This match kicked off last night’s episode. Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, informed WWE Champion Kofi Kingston of his challenge for the belt. They will compete for the championship on the FOX debut of SmackDown Live.
The segment ended after Brock Lesnar laid out Kofi Kingston with an F5 after feigning a handshake.
Since the challenge was set, Kofi Kingston has tweeted about his most dangerous opponent to date, writing:
“Another day, another mountain. Let’s climb…”
Kofi Kingston’s last mountain was in the form of ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton. Kingston succesfully defended his WWE Championship against Orton at WWE’s recent Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
It was rumored that WWE would move Lesnar to SmackDown to set up this match for SmackDown’s FOX debut. His inclusion creates a stronger roster for the blue brand, as it is speculated SmackDown will become WWE’s new A-show because FOX is available in more home nationwide than USA Network.
The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on FOX, which coincides with SmackDown’s 20th Anniversary, takes place on October 4th from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
Brock Lesnar has made a return to WWE SmackDown Live.
“The Beast” showed up after The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods) beat The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) and Randy Orton in a six-man tag team match that opened the show.
Lesnar, who had Paul Heyman at his side, walked down to the ring where he had a staredown with Kingston. Heyman cut a promo about how Lesnar stands in the way of the longevity of Kingston’s WWE Title reign.
Heyman informed Kingston that it’s a bad day for The New Day and Lesnar will challenge Kingston for the WWE Title on the FOX debut of SmackDown.
Lesnar then laid out Kingston out with an F5. This was an unadvertised appearance by the former WWE Universal Champion.
Once the deal of WWE moving SmackDown to FOX was announced, there was some speculation that Lesnar could be moved to SmackDown as the show is expected to become the new A-show of the company as FOX is in more homes than the USA Network.
The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network, which will be a 20th Anniversary special, takes place on October 4th from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
Matt Riddle hasn’t made it a secret that he would love to face Brock Lesnar. He also got into a back-and-forth with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg that saw the two speak backstage about their issues.
In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dropkick DiSKussions, Riddle opened up about the likelihood of achieving his dream match against Lesnar. He also shared how he wasn’t particularly interested in a match with Goldberg.
“Well, the WWE… NXT has made mention of me wrestling Brock in promos and other things like that, but I’ve been calling out Brock since I started wrestling. It’s such a huge goal. If I get close to that, I’ll probably be really successful. If I do it, probably be a legend. Now I’m as close I’ve ever been, but I’m still pretty far.”
Turning his attention to Goldberg, who he publicly mocked during his matchup against The Undertaker at WWE’s Super ShowDown in June, Riddle admitted he never even wanted a match with the former WCW World Champion.
“With Goldberg, I was never even really wanting a match. I mean, I would take it for sure. He’s Bill Goldberg, you know? The guy is money. At the same time, I never wanted a match. It was more so my opinion on his work rate and his wrestling – not his ability to generate money or put butts in seats. It was his salary, his work rate.”
He continued, “I talked to Goldberg, we talked about it, he thought I was being disrespectful. I was like, ‘Okay, man, that’s my opinion. I’m just not a huge fan of your work. I’m just not. It’s not great pro wrestling.’ It’s like, ‘You’ve got a great jackhammer, great spear but the wrestling… Uhh.’ I’m not lying. I feel like if I’m not lying, I’m not being disrespectful. Especially as that’s how you make your money.”
With NXT moving to USA Network and extending to two-hours, the WWE Universe may soon be able to see more of ‘The Original Bro’ on the black-and-gold brand.
Current NXT United Kingdom Champion WALTER had high praise for Brock Lesnar in an interview with SPORTbible, stating that he believes there is no smarter wrestler in the business right now.
He claimed that “right now there’s no smarter professional wrestler than Brock Lesnar at the moment. I’m aware of the — I don’t know — the negative reactions he gets by the fans, but if I ever end up in that position in my career, I would be very thankful [laughs]. For sure, 100 percent. I think Brock is amazing and I would love to do that.”
Turning his attention to other main roster Superstars, WALTER admitted that he admires a number of the promotions top Superstars on both RAW and SmackDown.
“There are a bunch of people I really look up to and I like what they do in the ring. Daniel Bryan is one of them, for sure,” he said. “And then I’m a big fan of The Revival, too. Drew McIntyre is someone I think we could have a good contest. And personally for my own amusement, I’ve always felt the idea of having a contest with Braun Strowman could be very interesting [laughs].”
WALTER successfully defended his WWE UK Championship against Tyler Bate during this past Saturday’s WWE NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff event.
