On WWE Raw this week, Liv Morgan implied that the reason her Riott Squad teammates had been let go from the company was Becky Lynch’s lucrative contract. The exact terms of Lynch’s contract are unknown, but she’s almost certainly making millions of dollars per year.
The salaries of top WWE stars was recently addressed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to Dave Meltzer, the top guys in WWE such as Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are making more than $5 million per year.
There is one other person who is believed to be making around $4 million per year. That could be Becky Lynch, although that is only speculation. Other top talent in the company make around $2 million or $3 million per year as well.
“Regarding contract sizes, the very top people (by this meaning Reigns and Lesnar) are above $5 million per year on their guaranteed deal and another person is at around $4 million, but a lot of the top talent is now at $2 million and some at $3 million,” wrote Dave Meltzer.
These figures are just their guaranteed dollar amount. It does not include their merchandise revenue or other potential bonuses as part of their contract.
WWE is bringing back Edge to RAW and Brock Lesnar to Smackdown this week. Edge’s return to RAW was announced during Friday’s Smackdown broadcast. It was also revealed on Smackdown that Brock Lesnar’s storyline suspension has been lifted and he will be on next week’s show.
Also announced for this week’s RAW is a non-title match between Big E and Kevin Owens. Also, Finn Balor will face Seth Rollins on the show. Nothing other than Brock Lesnar’s return has been announced for Smackdown thus far.
Next week’s Smackdown will be held in the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. While nothing has been announced other than Lesnar’s return, Sami Zayn has qualified for a Universal Championship shot. He won a battle royal on this Friday’s show. It appeared as though Jeff Hardy had won the match, but Zayn had never been officially eliminated. He returned and eliminated Hardy.
Brock Lesnar is known as “The Beast” in WWE and for good reason. He is exceptionally strong and burly, and has been a force to be reckoned with. While he performed mostly as a singles wrestler, having a female counterpart to him could be a very interesting idea if the execution is done properly. Beth Phoenix had this exact same idea but it never came to fruition.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently revealed that she pitched an interesting idea to producer Michael Hayes during her time with the WWE as an extra. She wanted to play the role of Brock Lesnar’s sister. She even came up with a detailed storyline on how she could be brought in as Lesnar’s sister.
“Fun Fact: At one of my first gigs as a @WWE extra I pitched a detailed storyline to Michael Hayes to be brought in as Brock Lesnar’s sister. I had ZERO CHILL,” Beth Phoenix wrote on Twitter.

Beth Phoenix joined WWE’s developmental territory OVW in 2004. This is the same year Lesnar left the WWE to join the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (but was cut from the team pre-season). Phoenix would work in OVW till 2006, and she would make her debut on the WWE main roster in the same year. During this time, things between Brock Lesnar and WWE were strained which could be the reason why didn’t want a female counterpart of him.
Interestingly enough, Phoenix would leave WWE the same year Lesnar would make his return in 2012. Currently, Phoenix is a color commentator on NXT and occasionally makes wrestling appearances. Brock Lesnar is suspended as part of a storyline but has vowed to make his return.
Brock Lesnar is likely to make a return to WWE television. The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California made an announcement which stated that Brock Lesnar has vowed to buy a ringside ticket to the December 10 edition of SmackDown.
“The suspended Brock Lesnar vows to buy a ringside seat in Los Angeles for @WWE Friday Night Smackdown on December 10!,” says the caption of the post by Staples Center’s official Twitter account.
There are no details available yet on what this particular episode of SmackDown will have in store for us. Brock Lesnar got suspended in storyline on the post-Crown Jewel SmackDown episode. He started a locker room-clearing brawl with Roman Reigns, which earned him the suspension by WWE producer and on-air authority figure Adam Pearce. Lesnar also proceeded to attack Pearce afterwards. He was drafted to SmackDown on October 27 despite being suspended. On the following SmackDown episode, Lesnar was fined $1 million by Pearce.
It is possible that we will see Lesnar involved in a storyline that will continue on till Royal Rumble 2022. The Ticketmaster pre-sale for the event went live in October and the promotional material features Brock Lesnar prominently. The Royal Rumble poster features Lesnar in the middle with other stars like Roman Reigns, Big E, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair beside him.
Royal Rumble will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. We could see Lesnar appear in action on the event. It wouldn’t be surprising if he is featured in a main event match, apart from the Men’s Royal Rumble.
Cesaro is quite pleased with the reaction he got for teasing a match with Brock Lesnar.
Cesaro has long been a team player for WWE. While he isn’t really treated as a main eventer in the long-term, he works well with just about anything he’s given and does have his moments in pivotal spots when called upon. This year hasn’t been too bad for Cesaro as he defeated Seth Rollins at WrestleMania and challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship.
Cesaro Talks Brock Lesnar
Cesaro got a massively positive reaction to teasing a matchup with Brock Lesnar on his Twitter account.
During an interview with Manchester Evening News, Cesaro gave his reaction to how well the tweet was received.
“The match with Brock Lesnar, which you’ve just mentioned, that would be another awesome match. To me, it’s really cool because it was just one picture and everyone ran wild with it simply based off the reputation that I have and that he has. To me, it’s really cool to see that I’ve built up a relationship with the fans so that they know whenever I get into the ring with someone of that caliber, or whoever it is, it’s going to be great. It’s a challenge to keep doing that, keep performing, keep having these matches that people want to see. If I do that, they [the WWE] always finds new ways to keep things fresh and keep it interesting.”
At the moment, Lesnar is “suspended indefinitely” after attacking a cameraman and WWE officials. He then delivered two F5’s to WWE authority figure Adam Pearce. Time will tell if a match with Cesaro will be in the cards once Lesnar makes his return.
A number of superstars were not picked by any brand during the latest WWE Drafts, making them free agents. This list included names such as the beast incarnate Brock Lesnar and the empress of tomorrow Asuka.
Now PWinsider has provided an update on which brand some of these free agents might end up on. The site has revealed which rosters they are listed internally.
According to the report, Lesnar who proclaimed himself to be a free agent during the draft is listed under the SmackDown brand. This makes sense as it appears that his storyline with Roman Reigns will continue in the coming times.
Asuka, Elias, and the Lucha House Party are all currently listed as part of the Raw roster. Though there is no word yet on when they might make their return.
There are other names whose futures are still undetermined. Probably the most prominent of them all is Bayley, who is currently out of action due to a torn ACL.
Other names that have not been assigned a brand as of yet include all red everything Eva Marie and sassy southern belle Lacey Evans. We will have to see what decision the officials make for their future.
Just two months after WWE booked the biggest match possible involving Roman Reigns, which was against John Cena, the company brought back Brock Lesnar in order for him to challenge “The Big Dog” for the Universal Title.
The match took place in the main event of the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event. Reigns connected with a superman punch then a dive over the top rope and once back in the ring, Reigns hit a spear for 2. Lesnar fought back with some german suplexes and an F5. The referee was taken out thanks to Charles Robinson being hit by Reigns’ legs on an F5. Paul Heyman tossed the title in between Lesnar and Reigns. The end came when The Usos hit a double superkick to Lesnar then Reigns hit him with the title and a new referee counted the fall.
After Reigns had beaten Cena to retain the Universal Title at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event in August, Lesnar made his return to have a staredown. During the SmackDown episode at Madison Square Garden, WWE started the storyline where Reigns began to question which side Heyman was on as Lesnar said that Heyman knew he was coming.
Once Reigns left the ring, Heyman did his old introduction for Lesnar, who was smiling. Lesnar turned on Heyman after telling him to get him a match with Reigns. There is a lot of history between Reigns and Lesnar as they headlined WrestleMania 31 in 2015 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018.
Paul Heyman has unveiled his pick for Brock Lesnar’s ultimate rivalry.
Throughout the years, Brock Lesnar has had some classic rivalries. Some of his matches with Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, and John Cena will long be remembered by WWE fans. There’s one man who stands out above all in the mind of Heyman, however.
During an interview with SportsKeeda, Heyman explained why he views Roman Reigns as the top rival in the career of Brock Lesnar.
“Roman Reigns because we’ve done multiple WrestleMania main events between the two of them and will most likely do more. This is a really interesting situation. The Undertaker was very simple. History was made. Brock Lesnar conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.”
A Completely Different Dynamic
Heyman insists that Roman Reigns is a different animal than the likes of The Undertaker and even John Cena.
“With John Cena, that was an intense rivalry between the poster boy for WWE. The most heavily hyped sports entertainer on the face of the planet against a former NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar. With Roman Reigns, you have a completely different dynamic.”
The story behind Reigns vs. Lesnar this time revolves around Paul Heyman’s allegiance. For years, Heyman served as the advocate for Lesnar.
During “The Beast’s” absence, Heyman became the Special Counsel for Roman Reigns. Fans are now left to wonder if Heyman will turn on Reigns or if he’ll stick with “The Tribal Chief.”
It seems that the announced Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns Universal Championship match at Crown Jewel won’t be the concluding bout for their rivalry.
Lesnar and Reigns’ program is expected to extend beyond this upcoming match, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“From what we understand, and what makes sense, is this is not a one-and-done program,” said Meltzer. “For one, unless Dwayne Johnson is wrestling Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania, this would appear to be the biggest possible Mania match.”
He added, “So the idea here is to build to a return, whether that means Lesnar wins to build to a rematch or some disputed decision takes place.”
Paul Heyman’s loyalty will be a big part of how this story unfolds. Heyman has guided both men to the top of WWE and we don’t know which side he will take when the time comes.
Heyman has been the centerpiece of the storyline between these two. Just last week, Brock Lesnar announced that he had become a free agent thanks to his advocate. WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will have to defend his championship against the Beast at the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV.
It will be interesting to see which man Heyman sides with, when the inevitable choice is presented.
Seth Rollins learned that earning the respect of Brock Lesnar wasn’t easy.
Rollins and Lesnar have had their share of matches in WWE. It was Rollins who stole the WWE Championship from Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 back in 2015 with his Money In The Bank cash-in. Just two months prior, the two were involved in a highly-praised triple threat match that also included John Cena at the Royal Rumble.
The two ended up meeting again at WrestleMania 35 back in 2019. This time, Rollins was the face challenging heel Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Rollins ended up winning the match.
During an appearance on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, Rollins admitted that Lesnar didn’t respect him immediately.
“It took some time. He’s a guy who is not just let you come in and, on a shoot, can take anybody in the locker room. It takes time to earn his respect. It took me a cold pack of Coors Light in his locker room after [WrestleMania 35].”
Seth Rollins also revealed that it was Lesnar’s call to have their 2019 match open up the WrestleMania 35 card. Lesnar’s reasoning was that he felt having back-to-back world title changes to close out the show would hurt both matches. Lesnar vs. Rollins was initially set to take place right before the women’s triple threat title match between Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte.
Rollins admitted that at first, he was bummed out that he didn’t get the call to headline WrestleMania 35. On the flip side, he was elated for Becky Lynch, who is now Rollins’ wife.
WWE has teased that Brock Lesnar could be drafted to RAW in the near future. The upcoming WWE Draft is scheduled to take place on the October 1st edition of Smackdown and the October 4th edition of WWE RAW.
During last night’s edition of WWE Smackdown, Kayla Braxton approached Paul Heyman and stated that she has heard Lesnar could be headed to RAW. Heyman blew her off, however, and downplayed the “rumors.”
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, the Fox and USA networks have both requested that WWE book RAW and Smackdown equally, with neither show being considered the B-show.
“From speaking a lot of my friends at the networks, they’re alluding that when you see something big happen on one, expect something big to happen on the other. Maybe not the following week, but they have to treat them weekly, that’s true,” Zarian said on the podcast.
There have also been rumblings that Drew McIntyre could be switching brands during the draft. Zarian Tweeted out an image of a match graphic featuring Roman Reigns facing Drew McIntyre for the Universal title on an episode of Smackdown.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will face Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 21st.
WWE made the match official today. The company also noted that the match, for now, isn’t for the Universal Championship. Reigns will defend the title against “The Demon” Finn Balor at Extreme Rules at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on September 26th.
If Reigns defeats “The Demon,” he will defend the Universal Championship against Lesnar at Crown Jewel.
Lesnar returned to WWE and confronted Reigns at Summerslam on August 22nd at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was inactive for over a year. On the September 10th episode of Friday Night Smackdown, he officially challenged Reigns to a match. Both have faced each other in the past. However, Reigns is currently a “Heel” and will have Paul Heyman as his manager. If Lesnar wins, he will become a four-time Universal Champion.
Roman Reigns vs “The Demon” Finn Balor
Reigns successfully defended his title against Balor on the September 3rd episode of Smackdown. Although he won, the WWE decided to have Reigns defend the championship against Balor again at Extreme Rules. However, Reigns was surprised he would be competing against Balor’s alter ego, “The Demon,” at the event.
Balor’s alter ego hasn’t competed in a match in over two years. It’s unclear why he is becoming “The Demon.” WWE also didn’t say if Reigns loses to “The Demon,” will he get an immediate rematch in the press release. The only guarantee is that Lesnar will face Reigns at Crown Jewel.
Paul Heyman doesn’t believe Brock Lesnar will ever make his way back inside the Octagon.
Lesnar is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He won the title in just his fourth pro MMA bout. Lesnar stepped away from MMA competition following a Dec. 2011 loss to Alistair Overeem. He made his comeback in July 2016, initially defeating Mark Hunt via unanimous decision. That result was changed to a No Contest after Lesnar tested positive for banned substances.
Since his first UFC run came to a close, Brock Lesnar has been enjoying great success in WWE. It’s a spot that he isn’t likely to give up anytime soon. In terms of potentially working out another deal with WWE that would allow him to compete in UFC, don’t hold your breath.
Speaking to Z100, Heyman expressed his belief that Lesnar’s days in the UFC are over.
“Been there, done that. If you were to tell me that Brock Lesnar would have a shoot-out in soccer with Messi, that I believe. But he has already done the MMA schtick.
“He knocked out Randy Couture, took a beating from Shane Carwin. He’s a conqueror. What more can he do in the UFC that he hasn’t done? When Brock Lesnar went out for the Minnesota Vikings in 2004, he was 295 pounds, just suffered a motorcycle accident, and he had a torn groin, broken pelvis, a wired-shut jaw, and he still ran his 100-yard dash in Olympic qualifying time.”
Lesnar is currently involved in a feud with Roman Reigns and Heyman plays a pivotal role in the storyline. For years, Heyman has served as Lesnar’s advocate. During “The Beast’s” time away from WWE, Heyman aligned himself with Reigns. This has left many to wonder if Heyman will turn on Reigns or Lesnar.
WWE has confirmed that Brock Lesnar will make his return to television next week on the Super Smackdown from Madison Square Garden. The news broke on Smackdown last night as Paul Heyman informed Roman Reigns that Lesnar will be on the show.
Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar Head To Head Statistics
A 4th singles match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar appears to be on the horizon. Their previous 3 singles matches all took place in 2018. Lesnar defeated Reigns at WrestleMania 34 and then again a few weeks later in a steel cage match at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. Reigns then finally defeated Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018.
Lesnar and Reigns have also been involved in 3 multi-person matches as opponents as well. At WrestleMania 31, their singles match got changed to a triple threat when Seth Rollins cashed in his MITB briefcase and won the title. Reigns won a triple threat match against Lesnar and Dean Ambrose at Fastlane 2016 and Lesnar won a fatal 4-way at SummerSlam 2017 against Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe.
Lesnar and Reigns are the two longest-reigning Universal Champions in history. Lesnar has held the title for 686 combined days across 3 reigns. Reigns has held the title 431 days across two title reigns.
Samoa Joe came face-to-face in the ring with then-WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event in 2017. Lesnar was able to successfully defend his title against Joe but he was able to land in a few blows. Before the match had even started, Joe attacked Lesnar with a Uranage Slam through the announce table and then a Coquina Clutch after the match had officially started. Joe tried the move two more times in the match but Lesnar was able to counter every time and won with an F-5.
Speaking about this match, Samoa Joe said that Brock Lesnar likes his matches to be intense and they both had a gentlemen’s agreement that they were both going to smash each other in the face.
“I think it really comes down to the simple fact that, when Brock shows up for fight night, he wants to be in a scrap,” Joe told The Daily Star. “He wants to go out there and he wants someone who is going to smash someone in the face, and he wants to smash somebody back!
Samoa Joe explained that they had this understanding with each other that whenever they’d meet in the ring they would not hold back. “It’s an attitude. He wants people to go in there and go after him. It is all of those things.”
Samoa Joe added that the reason him and Lesnar have such chemistry in the ring is because they are both stepping in the ring for causing mayhem and nothing else. He joked that they both had this unspoken agreement about it. “I think that was the simplistic but major reason that we click the way we do; we step in the ring and we’re stepping in there for chaos and destruction to happen, and nothing less than that. I guess it’s some weird, unspoken gentlemen’s agreement we have!”
CM Punk, Becky Lynch, and Brock Lesnar all returned to pro-wrestling after varying lengths of absences recently. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE brought back Brock Lesnar and may have sped up the return of Becky Lynch due to pressure to appease Fox after CM Punk debuted for AEW.
“FOX was very upset that WWE didn’t make a big offer to Punk to keep him from going to AEW, and politically, WWE felt the need to get Lesnar and Lynch to Smackdown right away,” wrote Dave Meltzer.
Fox and CM Punk are said to have a good relationship stemming from his time on WWE Backstage.
In terms of Becky Lynch, she was likely always returning at SummerSlam, anyway. For Lesnar, however, his deal was said to have been made very last minute. Meltzer noted that those close to the situation are “saying it was literally a last-minute deal that was put together for a number of reasons, all in some form related to FOX, C.M. Punk showing up in AEW and John Cena leaving.”
It was also noted that the reason Lesnar looked leaner than usual is that he did not have advanced notice he’d be returning. Both Lesnar and Lynch will be headed to the Smackdown brand with Lesnar challenging Reigns for the Universal title and Lynch now the Smackdown Women’s Champion after defeating Bianca Belair on Saturday.
Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE during the SummerSlam PPV. This was his first appearance for the company since the WrestleMania 36 event in April 2020. Since The Beast’s last contract with the promotion had expired after Mania, his return made people curious about his behind the scene status with WWE.
Fight Select recently provided some updates on his new deal. The site notes that Lesnar’s new contract is believed to be for ‘roughly a year and a half.’ If this report is true then it means that the former Universal champion’s new deal will run through early 2023. It should keep him WWE-bound through the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Brock Lesnar’s new contract is said to be for ‘at least 8 matches.’ Though this is not a concrete figure and there is a possibility for changes and further negotiation down the line. The former world champion confronted Roman Reigns during the PPV this past Sunday. This confrontation is likely leading to his first match under the new contract.
The belief is that the bout will be taking place at the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV from Saudi Arabia in October. Though considering the importance of this fight in the storyline for Roman Reigns, the officials can hold off the match for the Survivor Series in November as well.
The two big SummerSlam returns in Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch both got involved in feuds concerning the SmackDown brand upon their comeback. It appears that the officials from the USA Network are not very happy about it.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, the NBC Universal and USA Network officials are ‘not thrilled’ with the fact that both the returning stars are now on the SmackDown side which airs on Fox.
Zarian noted that the network officials also had issues with Lynch and Lesnar not being booked for the post-SummerSlam edition of Raw.
The idea behind it was that John Cena made appearances on both brands recently while working a feud with Roman Reigns on the blue brand.
Though the WWE officials have assured them that with the WWE draft coming up in October, this situation is only temporary. The network executives are told not to worry as the company has plans to “shuffle the deck.”
There is no word yet on what changes WWE is planning to make to the roster to distribute the star power among both brands equally but we should get a better idea as the draft draws nearer.
Both Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar are being teased for this Friday’s episode of SmackDown. This will be both the star’s first SmackDown appearance since 2019.
Riddle has a preference if he had to choose between a match with Goldberg or Brock Lesnar.
Riddle has been known to ruffle some feathers backstage in WWE. While some have grown to like his personality, others didn’t really have a great first impression of the former UFC fighter. Two of those athletes were Goldberg and Brock Lesnar.
Back in 2019, Riddle and Goldberg had a backstage run-in. Goldberg let Riddle know he didn’t appreciate some comments made by him about his in-ring work. Riddle also reportedly had a run-in with Brock Lesnar where Lesnar told Riddle to stop talking about him because they’ll never share the ring.
At the very least it appears Riddle and Goldberg have smoothed things over. It’s gotten to the point where Riddle told the folks on The Bumpthat he’d prefer to face Goldberg over Lesnar.
“I’ll say this: I don’t want to talk too much trash, but both Brock [Lesnar] and Goldberg are premium competitors. Mr. Beast [Lesnar] came back. Mr. Beast came down to the ring and did his thing. I’m not a huge fan of Mr. Beast’s man bun. I’m a fan of his work and caliber of athleticism. So, good for him.
“Then, you’ve got Willie G., Goldberg. He was doing his thing. Him and Gage, they bring it; they’re a packaged deal. Honestly, Bill’s been kind of cool with me lately. Not too cool. Not that cool, but he’s been cooler. [Ryan Pappolla shouts out, ‘Building bridges’], Yeah. You know, the bridge was already destroyed. It got blown up. So, right now, we’re throwing some stones, and you can walk across the water.
“But if I had to pick a match between the two of them, if I’m going realistically, I’m thinking Goldberg. Goldberg at ‘Mania, I think that’s a possibility. I think I might convince him to actually wrestle me.”
Goldberg recently fell short in his bid for the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. On the same PPV, Riddle won the Raw Tag Team Titles with Randy Orton.
WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar made a shocking return to the company this weekend at the WWE SummerSlam 2021 PPV event. Lesnar appeared following the main event of the show, confronting Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
The plan now is for the two men to feud heading into the rest of the year, with the added storyline incentive of Paul Heyman in the mix adding more intrigue on top of a face Lesnar and heel Reigns feud.
According to Dave Meltzer, the original plan for Roman and Lesnar was for the feud to actually take place in 2023, with the two men meeting in the main event of that year’s WrestleMania.
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
Meltzer reported as such on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio show, claiming that WWE wanted to have Roman vs The Rock in 2022 and Roman vs Lesnar the year after.
It was not confirmed when these plans were changed, however with AEW bringing CM Punk back to pro wrestling, it appears as though both sides will be looking to fire on all cylinders.
Meltzer did not confirm when the first Lesnar vs Reigns match for the Universal Championship will be taking place in 2021, however, the Survivor Series 2021 PPV is likely the destination for the first bout.
The Rock will reportedly be a major element of the Survivor Series event, as it marks the 25 anniversary of his WWE debut as Rocky Maivia.
Brock Lesnar made his surprise return after the SummerSlam main event where Roman Reigns defeated John Cena. The Beast Incarnate received a massive pop from the audience on his comeback.
The former world champion confronted Reigns on the show but the tribal chief backed out from a fight. The event ended with the former world champion standing tall in the ring while a shocked Roman Reigns retreated to the stage.
Though while Lesnar didn’t get the fight he was looking for with Reigns, it didn’t stop him from getting physical after SummerSlam.
As seen in the video below, Brock ended up attacking John Cena after the cameras went off air. He delivered multiple suplexes to Cena before finishing things with an F5:
Since the events took place after SummerSlam went off air, it’s hard to say if they mean anything for the future and if we are gonna see Cena and Lesnar coming face to face anytime soon.
One thing that seems to be confirmed is that we are going to get the inevitable rematch between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar very soon. It would be interesting to see which side Paul Heyman takes in this battle.
The PPV featured another massive return apart from Brock Lesnar and included multiple big title changes. You can check out the full SummerSlam results here.
Brock Lesnar finally made his WWE return after being away for over a year.
It happened at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday night from Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium after Roman Reigns had successfully retained the WWE Universal Title over John Cena in the main event.
Lesnar, with a beard and new hairstyle, walked down to the ring as fans went nuts. He had a staredown with Reigns, who backed down and went to the backstage area with Paul Heyman at his side.
Lesnar was last seen when he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. Lesnar’s contract with WWE expired last August when the two sides didn’t come to terms on a new deal. This led to Lesnar’s merchandise being removed from the WWE Shop.
Back in June, it was originally reported WWE had plans in place for him and was hopeful his return could be imminent. That didn’t happen.
WWE didn’t have plans to book Lesnar against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday, August 21 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada despite speculation and that ended up happening.
Recent pictures of Brock Lesnar sporting a ponytail and facial hair have caused quite a stir online. The photos were from Lesnar’s appearance on “The Bearded Butchers” YouTube channel. Lesnar’s full appearance has been posted online by the company.
“Wondering where did Brock Lesnar go? We found him! The Beast is a Bearded Butcher now! Hang out with us, Brock Lesnar and his new look as he makes his first appearance in over a year!” a description of the video reads.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCoROHOJLbw
“Avid Outdoorsmen and talented Butchers, Seth & Scott Perkins grew up hunting, harvesting, and butchering all types of wild game, as well as domestic livestock at the family butchering business, leading them on a quest to create a blend of salt & spices that are not only perfect for all types of meat, but just about anything you eat, and why we say ‘Use it on Everything!'” a description of Bearded Butchers reads on BeardedButchers.com.
There have been rumors the 44-year-old could be returning to WWE now that the company has gone back out on the road. Lesnar has not appeared in WWE since losing to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.
Paul Heyman recently commented on Lesnar’s potential WWE return during an interview with Metro.
“Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do,” Heyman said during the interview. “If Brock Lesnar wants to return to WWE, he will. If Brock Lesnar wants to take the UFC Championship from Francis Ngannou, he will”
Paul Heyman recently took part in an interview with Metro and commented on Brock Lesnar’s possible return to WWE. According to Heyman, he will “burn that bridge when he has to cross it.”
“Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do,” Heyman said during the interview. “If Brock Lesnar wants to return to WWE, he will. If Brock Lesnar wants to take the UFC Championship from Francis Ngannou, he will”
Heyman continued to list things Lesnar could possibly choose to accomplish.
“If Brock Lesnar wants to join football and run circles around Neymar and Ronaldo and [David] Beckham, he will. If Brock Lesnar to get involved with rugby, he’ll smash every record of any rugby player in the history of the game – and he will.”
“Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do,” Heyman shrugged. “So I’ll burn that bridge when I have to cross it.”
Should Lesnar return to the company, it’s not clear how Heyman’s on-screen role would adjust considering he now advocates for Roman Reigns on Smackdown. Heyman will be in Reigns’ corner this weekend when the Universal Champion faces Edge at Money in the Bank.
Lesnar was spotted recently sporting a new ponytail and cutting up meat with The Bearded Butchers.
Former WWE star Zach Gowen recently had an interview with Jonah Ferstand on the Rewind Recap Relive podcast where he talked about his interactions with Brock Lesnar during The Beast’s original run with the company in detail.
The former WWE star had a short feud with the former Universal champion. This led to a match between the two during a SmackDown episode in August 2003, which helped establish the Beast Incarnate as a heel in the company.
Gowen went into the details of his violent encounter with Lesnar during his interview. He recalled how he got knocked out during the bout:
“He was supposed to give me three powerbombs, like a triple powerbomb where you hold on, and then after two, he felt I got knocked out. Like he felt my body go limp for a second. I hit the back of my head on the mat.
I was knocked out on the powerbomb. It was supposed to be three, but he felt that I was in danger, so he just let me go.”
Zach Gowen then explained how the former Universal champion may have saved his life in that split second with his awareness:
“He might’ve saved my life if we’re being 100% honest, at that point. The angle was just one of those things that people still remember and talk about and it’s on YouTube so it’s going to live forever.”
Apart from this, the former WWE star also revealed that Brock Lesnar still remembers him after all these years. He mentioned that the Beast recently sent him a friendly message when his name came up in a conversation.
Zach Gowen had a short stint with WWE in early 2000. He made his debut for the promotion in May 2003 and had an underdog run before his release from the promotion in February 2004.
