Bron Breakker Warns John Cena: “If I Was 47 Years Old, I Would Not Want to Face Me”

As John Cena embarks on his farewell tour, WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker suggests the 16-time world champion might want to think twice about one final challenge.

Speaking with Muscle Man Malcolm on Muscle Memory, Breakker delivered an unambiguous message regarding any potential matchup with Cena.

“I just don’t think it’s very wise for John Cena,” Breakker said. “A lot of things have changed since SummerSlam. I know this is his farewell tour, and everyone’s celebrating the last year of John Cena, but if he wants to make it to the end of that year or make it to the end of this run, he probably should just stay away from me.”

When Malcolm acknowledged this bold statement, Breakker emphasized his point by highlighting the age difference between them.

“I wouldn’t want to face me if I was him,” he continued. “If I was 47 years old, I would not want to face me.”

Following his Intercontinental Championship victory at SummerSlam, Breakker initially challenged Cena directly. However, his recent statements have evolved from a simple challenge into what appears to be a calculated warning. While Cena has remained silent on the matter, speculation grows among WWE fans about whether this could set up one final significant challenge before the veteran superstar retires.

The wrestling world now watches with anticipation: Will the legendary Cena accept this implicit challenge, or will he opt to avoid what Breakker suggests would be a dangerous confrontation? Whatever the outcome, the Intercontinental Champion has successfully captured the WWE Universe’s attention.

Potential Challengers for John Cena in 2025

John Cena at the Gates of Heaven

Several other wrestlers have expressed interest in facing John Cena during his 2025 retirement year:

  • Matt Cardona, who previously shared screen time with Cena in 2012
  • The Miz, hoping for one final match after their WrestleMania 27 main event in 2011
  • RVD, who is ready for a rematch following their ECW One Night Stand 2006 encounter
  • CM Punk, who hopes to team with Cena after their acclaimed previous matches.
  • Zilla Fatu, who has expressed his desire to wrestle Cena before the legend retires.

Kurt Angle, despite his storied history with Cena, has confirmed he will not participate in any matches during the retirement tour due to health concerns.

Bron Breakker Teases WrestleMania Showdown with Jacob Fatu

WWE fans may have just gotten a glimpse of a future WrestleMania showdown.

Bron Breakker and Jacob Fatu came face-to-face in a tense moment on Raw, and the Intercontinental Champion wasted no time fueling speculation about a potential match between the two powerhouses. In an interview with with Muscle Man Malcolm on Muscle Memory, Breakker said:

“I think Jacob Fatu and I—that’s a match for WrestleMania. I think everyone will agree with that.”

Fatu, a dominant force with deep ties to WWE’s famed Anoa’i family, has long been considered a dream opponent for Breakker, who comes from his own legendary lineage as the son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner. The staredown on Raw was brief, but it sent the WWE Universe into a frenzy, with many hoping WWE will capitalize on the moment and book the match for WrestleMania.

While Breaker didn’t reveal any official plans, his confidence in the matchup suggests that it’s more than just a fantasy booking scenario. If WWE pulls the trigger, this could be a clash of two of the most intense competitors in the company today.

And if fans needed another reason to believe in Breaker’s dominance? The guy has his post-show routine down to a science. When asked about his go-to Waffle House order, Breaker served up:

“All-Star special, eggs over medium, sausage, white toast, blueberry waffle,” he said. “Sometimes scrambled eggs with cheese, but I don’t know—Jay’s been trying to get me to switch it up lately. I don’t know if I trust him.”

Whether it’s in the ring or at the Waffle House, Braun Breaker knows exactly what he wants. Now, it’s just a matter of whether WWE makes the match happen. Please?

Penta Wants a Clash with WWE IC Champion Bron Breakker

Since making his WWE debut, Penta has made an immediate impact with standout performances, including an explosive Royal Rumble showing where he lasted over 40 minutes before being eliminated by Finn Balor.

While he fell short of securing a WrestleMania main event spot (there’s always Elimination Chamber), the luchador has already identified his next challenge: Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker.

Speaking with Between Two Beards for Love Wrestling ahead of the Royal Rumble, Penta praised Breakker, calling him “one of the best wrestlers in the world” and expressing excitement for a potential match.

“I like to face this kind of wrestler because it makes Penta more aggressive, more violent,” he said, adding that such a bout would be unlike anything WWE fans have seen from him so far.

Penta Rejects Rey Mysterio Comparisons

As one of WWE’s most high-profile masked luchadores, Penta has naturally drawn comparisons to Rey Mysterio. However, he made it clear that while he respects the Hall of Famer, he has no interest in being the next Mysterio—he wants to be the first Penta. In fact, he’s more than willing to go through Mysterio himself to make his mark in WWE.

With a fearless attitude and a “Cero Miedo” mindset, Penta is proving that he’s ready to carve out his own legacy in WWE, one hard-hitting match at a time.

Bron Breakker’s Door Is Always Open To Alliance With Paul Heyman

WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker could be the next ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ following his win at Survivor Series: WarGames. At the Vancouver PLE, Breakker retained the gold in a brutal triple-threat match that saw him defeat both Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser.

On the post-show press conference, Breakker was asked if he would be interested in working with Paul Heyman, who recently returned to WWE programming.

“I definitely think that there’s a possibility of that happening at some point, maybe down the line… The door is definitely open. We’ll just have to say ‘never say never’ on that.”

Breakker is no stranger to working with Heyman, as the Wiseman was loaned by Roman Reigns to Bron for the October 10, 2023, episode of WWE NXT. The star-studded show, which bested AEW Dynamite in the war for ratings, saw Breakker, with Heyman, come up short against the John Cena-endorsed Carmelo Hayes.

Breakker’s comments come after Heyman named the second-generation Superstar as a potential ‘guy’ of his. The 2024 WWE Hall of Famer also has his eyes on GUNTHER, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Liv Morgan in what Heyman believes to be the deepest roster of talent WWE has ever seen. Breakker has long been considered a future top star, and aligning with Heyman could be what it takes to move the reigning Intercontinental Champion into a much bigger picture.

Bron Breakker Warns ‘Sewer Rat’ Kaiser & ‘Old Man’ Sheamus Ahead Of WWE Survivor Series

Bron Breakker is all types of “Steinerized” for his upcoming triple threat match tonight at WWE Survivor Series. Donning a WCW shirt of his dear Uncle Scott, the Intercontinental Champion cut a pre-match promo as he was asked by Jackie Redmod what his mindset was going up against both Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser. Breakker took a moment to note the respect he has for both competitors in the bout. Bron made clear he knew the score of Kaiser and how he’ll aim to win the match.

“[Kaiser is] gonna try to sewer rat around and steal the championship from me.”

When it comes to Sheamus, Breakker said just cause ‘The Celtic Warrior’ is searching to secure that Intercontinental gold, the only title he’s never held in WWE, doesn’t mean he’ll get it.

“I played for the Ravens and never won a Super Bowl but should they give me a Super Bowl ring cause I was there for participation? No! Take it back to the retirement home old man, this ain’t Saturday night bingo!”

Sheamus responded with a Will Ferrell gif, stating, “That’s cute. I remember when I had my first beer.”

Both Kaiser and Sheamus had challenged Breakker for the Title the past two weeks on WWE RAW. Due to interference by both men in their respective bouts, the matches led to disqualification finishes, building to the battle that’s taking place at Survivor Series.

Kaiser could be a wild card in this match as he’s finding himself a little at odds with his Imperium pal, GUNTHER, who is defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest.

WWE Star Wants To Work With Bron Breaker – When He’s More Established

WWE star Omos has reckoned that the WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker needs to be built strongly like former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, before facing him in a match. Omos, the 7’3 powerhouse had battled Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39. Though he suffered a defeat, Omos posed a massive challenge for ‘The Beast Incarnate.’

During a recent Q&A episode on Undertaker’s Patreon, the gigantic wrestler said that he believes he could lock horns with Bron Breakker but he wants him to build more equity to make the clash exciting. Omos explained:

“My personal opinion, and maybe you can agree or disagree with me, I think [he might need] some more building him to that point, because I just remember wrestling Brock last year. I think people are going to expect that, but I think Brock had so much equity that he made sense and I think before you put him with me, you want to give him a lot more equity first.

So that way he’s people feel like he’s on top of the world like he’s gone through everybody, he’s become the unstoppable machine that he is, and they say, ‘What are you going to do with a giant?’ That makes for an even better story overall.”

Omos’ last appearance before hiatus took place at the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Meanwhile, Bron Breakker has been going strong on the main roster and became a two-time Intercontinental Champion and has defeated the likes of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso to remain a champion. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker shared his thoughts on Omos.
