What Does Bryan Danielson Think Of WWE Writers?

Bryan Danielson has shared his experience working with WWE writers.

Danielson had been with WWE since 2009. There was a brief period where he was fired from the promotion in 2010 but he was quickly brought back. Throughout the years, Danielson has built a special bond with WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Bryan Danielson has said that it wasn’t easy to make the decision to leave WWE. He did so, however, and is now a member of the AEW roster.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Danielson revealed what it’s like to work with the writers over at WWE.

“My last couple of months with WWE, I would get scripts, but my time with WWE was pretty much that; always working with a writer but always collaborating. In the last couple of months, I was part of the creative team a little bit. Very rarely would I do my own stuff, but I was like, ‘What if I said something like this?’ I might have said that on a Tuesday then show up on Friday and it would be somebody else’s words, but a version of what I mentioned. We’d flesh it out, work together, and it’d be fun.”

Danielson also went as far as to say that he “loved” working with the WWE creative team. “The American Dragon” certainly didn’t leave the company on bad terms. In fact, he penned a “Thank You” letter to Vince McMahon through the Players Tribune.

Danielson has made an immediate impact for AEW. In his first match with the company, he went to a 30-minute draw with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a non-title match. The match took place inside Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

Bryan Danielson Speaks Out Following Kenny Omega Match

All Elite Wrestling talent Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts after his match with AEW Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega last night.

He made his AEW in-ring debut at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, NY. The match with Omega went to a 30-minute time limit draw, with AEW fans praising his performance. Danielson, in a tweet, gave his thoughts on the event and his appreciation for the fans.

“When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Thank you to the incredible fans in NY last night,” said Danielson. He continues to say, “Thank you to AEW and its wrestlers for putting in the work to make last night possible.”

    Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega

The long-awaited dream match between Danielson and Omega ended without a winner. The match went back and forth, with both wrestlers having their moments of offense. Danielson tried to apply his submission move on Omega, but the time expired. It was a non-title match, but a possible rematch could be for the AEW Heavyweight Championship.

The next AEW Pay-Per-View Full Gear AEW is November 13th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A rematch between the two could earn AEW a reasonable PPV buy rate. However, Omega doesn’t seem interested in a rematch.

    Possible Opponent for Kenny Omega

Hangman Adam Page is a potential opponent for the champion. His single match record in AEW is 11-1 this year. He was also in a rivalry with Omega before he took time away to be with his family in August. It’s unclear when he will return, but AEW has a promotional poster of him for AEW Dynamite and Rampage on November 17th. However, AEW hasn’t said that he would return for upcoming shows before the advertised date.

For now, Danielson is still feuding with Omega. After their first match in AEW, a rematch doesn’t seem unlikely.

  • Bryan Danielson On If He Communicated With CM Punk Before AEW Signing

Bryan Danielson On If He Communicated With CM Punk Before AEW Signing

Bryan Danielson and CM Punk made their debuts for AEW only two weeks apart. However, despite being friends for a long time, the duo did not speak before signing with the promotion.

The American dragon recently appeared on ESPN SportsNation to promote the Dynamite: Grand Slam special. He discussed things like his match against the AEW champion Kenny Omega and more.

When asked if he had any communication with Punk before inking the AEW deal, Danielson claimed that they had ‘next to zero’ communication with each other:

“We’ve had next to zero communication, as a lot of my friends know, I’m a horrible communicator. I didn’t know about the [CM] Punk stuff until it happened right, but it seemed very fitting.”

Bryan Danielson Wants To Team With CM Punk

Now that both the stars are in the same promotion again, a future clash between the two is inevitable. Bryan Danielson also spoke about the possibility and recalled how he wrote about Punk in his 2015 book based on his WrestleMania main event:

“I wrote in my book that it makes me sad that that will most likely never happen, and then now here we are in 2021 and it’s a real possibility. I had heard him say in an interview recently that I hadn’t even thought of,

But it’s not just me against CM Punk, it’s teaming with CM Punk. He had said something about maybe me and him against The Young Bucks” recalled Danielson, “and I was like oh my God, that would be awesome.”

The former world champion also discussed how leaving WWE was a difficult decision for him but he ultimately chose to sign with AEW because there are many names in the roster who he wants to face.

  • Bryan Danielson Goes To A 30-Minute Draw With Kenny Omega On AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Bryan Danielson Goes To A 30-Minute Draw With Kenny Omega On AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

A dream match for many fans between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega finally happened on the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special at the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The match was non-title as the World Heavyweight Champion wasn’t on the line.

The match opened the show and went a full 30 minutes. They built slowly and the pace continued to increase. At one point, Omega hit a running V-Trigger on the rampway. Both men exchanged chops and had bruised chests. Because time ran out, it was ruled a draw. A finish that will clearly lead to a rematch.

Danielson made his promotional debut at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event after Omega beat Christian Cage to retain the World Title. The Elite attacked Jungle Boy and Jurassic Express so Danielson came out to stand with the babyfaces. A brawl broke out with the babyfaces standing tall to end the show.

Danielson was originally going to debut at this show, but it was nixed and moved up due to a growing concern about the spread of COVID-19. In July, it was reported the former WWE star had indeed signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Back in late August during an episode of Dynamite, CM Punk responded to a “YES” chant by telling fans that they need to be patient a little bit longer. Many took this as a clear indication that Danielson was on board with the company.

Kenny Omega & Don Callis Talk Match Against Bryan Danielson

Tonight on AEW’s Grand Slam Dynamite in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson will face-off in non-title action. Ahead of tonight’s show, Omega and Don Callis spoke with Jim Ross.

“It could be a dream match for you, it could be a dream match for other people, to me, it’s just another Wednesday,” Omega said of his match with Bryan Danielson.

“People talk about dream matches,” Callis added. “Some people like to make people’s dreams come true, we like to crush people’s dreams.”

Omega also spoke about accepting Danielson’s challenge for a non-title match when he did not have to. He and Callis also spoke about people coming from other promotions and wanting to face top talent immediately.

“Here in AEW, we have a win-loss record thing going, I’m sure you’re aware of it,” Omega said to JR.

“It’s the arrogance of the Stamford Supermax people that come in here and say ‘we’re entitled’,” Callis said.

Omega continued to say that Danielson doesn’t deserve a title shot, and so he is not putting the title on the line.

“You came here thinking you deserve a handout, that you deserve something for free because everyone knows your catch phrases, everyone knows your face,” Omega continued.

This will be just the second time that Omega and Danielson have had a singles matching their careers. The first took place at a PWG show in 2009. Danielson won the match.

Omega and Callis’ comments can be heard in the Tweet below:

  • Bryan Danielson Explains Why He Isn’t Doing ‘Yes!’ Chants In AEW

Bryan Danielson Explains Why He Isn’t Doing ‘Yes!’ Chants In AEW

Bryan Danielson has shed some light on why he won’t be doing the “Yes!” chants in AEW.

Danielson ended up being the second-worst kept secret in AEW history behind CM Punk. Danielson reportedly signed a deal with AEW and Punk even hinted at “The American Dragon’s” arrival. Danielson ended appearing at the end of the AEW All Out PPV on Sept. 5.

As the fans chanted “Yes!” Danielson didn’t point in the air as he normally does. Instead, he just extended his arms out and hopped down the aisle.

During an appearance on Rasslin with Brandon Walker, Danielson said he won’t be leading the chants out of respect for WWE’s IPs.

“I’m not doing it myself because I respect WWE’s intellectual property. I don’t think anything legally, they haven’t threatened anything legally. I had a great conversation with Kevin Dunn before I debuted with AEW. I was very upfront with WWE of, ‘I want to let you guys know I’m leaving. This is my debut date.’ They asked me, politely, to respect their intellectual property. Even some things that couldn’t be legally enforced. I’m trying my best to do that. There are also certain expectations fans have of me that they want to be able to do. I’m happy they still get to do that. I’m going to do my best to avoid swinging my arms in the air.”

Danielson has made it clear that he did not leave WWE on bad terms. In fact, he recently penned a “thank you” letter to WWE chairman Vince McMahon on the Players Tribune.

Bryan Danielson has said that fans who wish to continue chanting “Yes!” can do so. Danielson let it be known that he still embraces the chants but you just won’t see him encouraging it as he did during his WWE run.

Danielson and other AEW names have been making media rounds ahead of the big Grand Slam event. Dynamite will air live from Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on Sept. 22. Danielson will take on AEW World Champion Kenny Omega on the show. Rampage will also take place that same night but it won’t air on TNT until Sept. 24.

  • Bryan Danielson Considered A Break From Wrestling Before Joining AEW

Bryan Danielson Considered A Break From Wrestling Before Joining AEW

Bryan Danielson had almost considered taking time off from wrestling before signing with All Elite Wrestling. Danielson is currently in New York City doing the media rounds ahead of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event from Arthur Ashe Stadium.

During an interview with the NY sports radio show WFAN, Danielson discussed his decision to sign with AEW, his article thanking WWE, and more. When explaining his decision to jump to AEW, Danielson revealed he considered taking a hiatus from wrestling after leaving WWE.

“A lot of people look at it in terms of there being two options,” said Danielson. “Either you’re going to be with WWE or AEW, but part of me was like, or I could just do like an independent schedule, where I don’t sign with anybody. I also thought about not coming back to wrestling at all. In the sense of at least for the next couple of years.”

    Bryan Danielson’s Decision

Danielson is starting his AEW career at age 40. His decision to sign with AEW took some consideration on how it will affect his family.

“I wanted to take the Summer off because my daughter started pre-school and just being home with her every day,” he continued. “Her whole life, she’s four. I’ve left every week, almost every week. I loved it. She loved it, me being home every single night.”

“Now that I’m gone, I Facetime her every night, and it’s just like, Daddy, I miss you. I miss your cuddles, said Danielson. He shared that he considered stepping away from wrestling until his son started pre-school. However, he thought, considering his age, it was best to pursue AEW now.”

At this stage of his career, Danielson feels that he has nothing to prove in professional wrestling. The AEW contract he signed is for three years, in which afterward he expects to have a limited wrestling schedule. He’s also calling the next three years the climax of his career.

“My goal is, at the end of three years, to become a better person. I see these next three years as kind of my last three years as a full-time wrestler.”

  • Bryan Danielson: The Final Countdown Was ‘Way Too Expensive’ For AEW

Bryan Danielson: The Final Countdown Was ‘Way Too Expensive’ For AEW

Bryan Danielson has chimed in on not being able to use The Final Countdown as his theme song in AEW.

Once reports started swirling regarding Danielson’s arrival in AEW, fans started fantasizing about “The American Dragon” making his way to the ring with The Final Countdown blaring out the speakers. Danielson made his AEW debut at the All Out PPV on Sept. 5 but he had a brand new theme song.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that using The Final Countdown was cost-prohibitive for Tony Khan.

Speaking to Bleacher Report, Bryan Danielson confirmed that the asking price was simply not feasible.

“Tony and I talked about a couple of things. We had talked about ‘The Final Countdown,’ but that was way too expensive. I hate talking business stuff when I don’t exactly know what it was, but it wasn’t just the amount of money. They would only let [AEW] play it like 20 times a year or something like that. For several $100,000 you can play ‘Final Countdown’ 20 times a year. That doesn’t work for us.”

Danielson ended up calling on his friend, Elliott Taylor, to make a fresh theme song for him. The song even includes a chant that Danielson often heard when he was on the indie scene, “you’re gonna get your f*cking head kicked in.”

Danielson is set for his first match on AEW TV. He will take on AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a non-title match. It’ll be featured on the AEW Grand Slam edition of Dynamite on Sept. 22. The show will be held inside Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

  • Bryan Danielson Thanks WWE Ahead Of AEW In-Ring Debut

Bryan Danielson Thanks WWE Ahead Of AEW In-Ring Debut

Bryan Danielson will wrestle Kenny Omega at Dynamite Grand Slam tomorrow night. Ahead of his in-ring debut with AEW, Danielson penned an article for the Players Tribune thanking WWE.

“Before this next part of my career gets fully underway, there’s something I need to express: THANK YOU, WWE,” Danielson wrote. “Thank you to the incredible superstars with whom I’ve shared both the ring and the road. For Savate-Kick Saturdays and locally roasted coffee. For being family when we’re away from family. For making me look good when I didn’t feel good. For deep conversations and pointless debates. For making me laugh — both in the best of times, and the worst. For all the small things that make life as a wrestler just a little bit more fun.”

Danielson also wrote a paragraph thanking “The Big Man” who one might assume is Vince McMahon.

“Thank you to the Big Man, who I know hates to be acknowledged. I won’t say much, but thank you for the conversations, the life lessons (about both what to do and what not to do), and the best hug I’ve ever received. I wish more people could see you how I see you.”

Danielson continued to say that he hopes his fans from WWE will follow him to AEW, but he understands if they don’t.

“I hope you will continue to follow me in AEW, but I completely understand if you don’t. You’ve given me more than enough — more than I could ever repay. Thank you for all of it,” Danielson continued. “I loved my time in WWE. Needless to say, it changed my life.”

Bryan Danielson’s WWE Career As Daniel Bryan

Danielson was with WWE from 2009 until 2021, with a brief departure in 2010 after he choked Justin Roberts with his tie during a Nexus invasion. During that time, he won the WWE Championship 4 times. He also won the World Heavyweight Championship once. He is a 1x Intercontinental Champion, 1x United States Champion, a 1x WWE tag-team champion along with Kane, and a 1x Smackdown tag-team champion along with Rowan.

Bryan won the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2011. He is the 6th WWE Grand Slam title winner under the current format, and 15th all-time. Bryan is also a 12x Slammy Award winner, with some awards being serious (such as 2013’s Superstar of the Year) and some not-so-serious (such as 2013’s Beard of the Year award).

Bryan was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2016.

  • ROH Star Willing To Lose Three Fingers To Face Bryan Danielson

ROH Star Willing To Lose Three Fingers To Face Bryan Danielson

One ROH star says that having three fingers chopped off would be worth it if he can face Bryan Danielson.

Danielson has been the talk of the wrestling world as of late. At the conclusion of the All Out PPV, Danielson made his AEW debut. He assisted Christian Cage and Jurassic Express in clearing Adam Cole and The Elite from the ring.

As one would imagine, plenty of wrestlers from different promotions have expressed their desire to wrestle “The American Dragon.” One of those wrestlers is Kenny King, who told Inside The Ropes that he’d even remove three of his fingers to share the ring with Danielson.

“I would cut three fingers off to wrestle Danielson and I can see that match happening at some point. Jonathan Gresham is this generation’s Bryan Danielson, no question. I praise him as much as you possibly can praise a guy because Jon Gresham is a guy who said, ‘Okay, I’m not as physically gifted as these other guys. What I’m going to do is I’m going to turn my turn myself into a freakin’ machine and an animal.’ Physically, every time he walks by me in locker room he’s like a little tank, walking by right? But just if you watch the way Jon wrestles and the time that he talks? I don’t know, man, he’s just so meticulous about the things that he does in that ring and he doesn’t waste any movement and he’s great. That would be an amazing match.”

King recently captured the ROH Tag Team Titles with Dragon Lee during a TV taping. It’s King’s second ROH tag title reign with Lee and third overall.

  • Details On The Length Of Bryan Danielson’s AEW Contract

Details On The Length Of Bryan Danielson’s AEW Contract

Bryan Danielson was revealed as the latest AEW signee after weeks of rumors during the All Out PPV. Latest report might have revealed the length of his contract with the promotion.

Dave Meltzer talked about the former world champion’s decision to sign with the company on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer first discussed how his signing brings a lot of new possibilities. He then claimed that if Danielson doesn’t like things in AEW, he can go back to WWE ‘in three years’.

A three-year deal would mean that the former champion would remain with the company through the Summer of 2024. He would have to make a decision about his future afterward.

    Bryan Danielson To AEW

Reports suggest that both WWE and AEW offered Bryan Danielson similar money. The ability to work with NJPW was an important factor in his decision

While WWE officials were ready to allow him to work with NJPW, the former WWE star also wanted to open the door for other talents to work for the Japanese promotion.

Since nothing came out of the talks between WWE and NJPW and the Asian wrestling promotion joined forces with AEW, Bryan made the decision to sign with them as well.

  • Update On Bryan Danielson’s Reasons For Signing With AEW

Update On Bryan Danielson’s Reasons For Signing With AEW

At the post-event media scrum from All Out this weekend, Bryan Danielson mentioned that WWE had made a very gracious offer to him. Danielson said their offer included him being able to work for other companies.

There had been rumors that part of Danielson’s negotiations with WWE involved being able to work with NJPW. This is said to have been a key reason why Nick Khan was looking to develop an exclusive relationship with the promotion. Danielson’s negotiations with WWE and AEW were addressed recently on Wrestling Observer Radio.

“New Japan was a big thing. The key aspect of this was whether Nick Khan could pull of the exclusive deal between New Japan and WWE which obviously did not happen,” said Dave Meltzer. “Because if that happened, maybe he would have gone in the other direction and maybe he wouldn’t have.”

WWE Was Going To Let Bryan Danielson Go To NJPW

Meltzer continued to say that WWE was going to let Danielson work for NJPW. He also said that both offers from WWE and AEW were similar from a financial perspective.

“Both offers were money-wise similar. And both would have allowed him to do New Japan. WWE was going to allow him to do New Japan and he was trying to open the door for other people in WWE that wanted to go to New Japan to be able to do that but that seems to be a dead issue right now from a WWE standpoint.”

Danielson’s decision is also said to have been influenced by what he felt was best for the wrestling industry as a whole.

“He may have felt like Mick Foley did many years ago when he went to TNA, that the best thing for the industry is competition at a high level,” Meltzer continued. “Mick Foley went to TNA years ago for that reason.”

“For the industry as a whole, if competition is one of the key things then going to AEW would obviously be a big part of that as well. So, that was a factor.”

  • Bryan Danielson Won’t Dabble Into Business Side Of AEW

Bryan Danielson Won’t Dabble Into Business Side Of AEW

Don’t expect Bryan Danielson to be a part of the creative process with AEW.

Danielson has the wrestling industry buzzing. The “American Dragon” made his debut for AEW at the conclusion of the All Out PPV. He helped Christian Cage and Jurassic Express fight off The Elite.

During a media scrum, Danielson was asked if he has any interest in dabbling into some behind-the-scenes creative decisions for AEW. Danielson says that’s a hard pass.

“So I briefly took part in creative in WWE and I will say this, I like just wrestling, right? I’ll leave the business stuff and all that kind of stuff up to up to Tony. I mean, honestly, Tony’s the businessman. I couldn’t care less about the business. As far as the business I want him to make money so that he keeps doing this thing that is so much fun for me to do, right? So what I want more than anything else out of all this — I don’t know if you know this, I’m the richest man who’s ever lived.

“Yeah, pretty much I grew up without much so in comparison, I feel — as far as that kind of stuff, I just feel so blessed to be able to step into this position where you have a crowd that just loves this product and you saw it tonight. Every match, they’re just invested, you know? So for me, it’s not about like, ‘Oh, can we take it to this?’, or, ‘Can we take it to that?’ I would love to help Tony do that. But my goal is to produce excellent professional wrestling that people can watch because this is one of the things I truly believe: you show excellent professional wrestling to anybody and they will enjoy it because excellent professional wrestling is fucking awesome.”

Bryan Danielson has admitted that walking away from WWE was a hard decision to make. He says that while he has much love for Vince McMahon, he believes the WWE chairman is overly protective of him. Danielson also said there’s renewed excitement when it comes to joining the AEW roster.

  • Bryan Danielson Will Not Have Yes Chants or The Final Countdown in AEW

Bryan Danielson Will Not Have Yes Chants or The Final Countdown in AEW

Some fans may have been hoping to hear Bryan Danielson enter the arena to the sounds of Europe’s “Final Countdown” at All Out. Danielson had used the song on the independent scene before signing with WWE. According to comments made by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, however, AEW tried but was unable to secure the rights to the song.

“There was, in fact, an attempt to have him come out to the Final Countdown, figuring the place would explode, which they did anyway,” said Dave Meltzer. “But it was, even for Tony Khan, it was cost-prohibitive. So, that’s why that didn’t play.”

“One of (Danielson’s) friends made this new remix and they think, in time, this song will be just fine,” Meltzer continued.

ROH evidently ran into similar problems trying to obtain the rights to the music.

Bryan Danielson on Using “Yes!” Chants in AEW

Danielson was also asked about using the “Yes!” chants in AEW during All Out’s post-even media scrum. Danielson said he won’t be using the chants himself due to WWE’s intellectual property rights. He said it was great that the fans were doing it, however.

“I don’t know, we’re going to have to talk about like what I can do and what I cannot do,” Danielson said. “So one of the things that I do try to respect, because like I said, I appreciate the people I worked for before and respecting their intellectual property and that sort of thing. And so try and making sure that I don’t contradict any of that. And the fans doing it is great, but I’m not sure if I’m going to do it.”

  • Bryan Danielson’s Reasons For Joining AEW Should Concern WWE

Bryan Danielson’s Reasons For Joining AEW Should Concern WWE

While CM Punk has been critical of his time in WWE (without mentioning the company by name) since signing with AEW, comments made by Bryan Danielson since All Out strike an entirely different tune. At the post-event media scrum, Danielson was very complimentary of WWE, his time there, and his relationship with Vince McMahon.

“WWE was so gracious with me as far as the offer that they gave me,” Danielson said. “They were gonna let me go do some other stuff on the outside, but, I hate to say this, Vince sometimes — He and I have a great relationship. I love him, I do. Sometimes he’s overprotective of me.”

Yet even though Bryan did not have the contentious relationship with WWE management as Punk did, was not released from his contract like a Ruby Soho or many others were, he still chose to sign with AEW.

Danielson signed with AEW even though WWE was going to let him work with other companies. He signed with AEW despite WWE offering him big money and featuring him in the main event of WrestleMania just months ago.

Bryan Danielson: I Want To Be A Part of This

Bryan continued by saying that it’s the fans, the AEW locker room, and the excitement surrounding the new company that enticed him to join.

“There’s just an excitement. You see the crowd. I mean I think you all see it, probably were all out there and you felt it,” Danielson continued to say about AEW. “You felt how excited people are about this product and it feels vibrant. Even just watching it through a TV screen in a trailer. I’m sitting there going, ‘God this is awesome. I want to be a part of this.’ So that was it.”

In other words, Bryan leaving WWE and signing with AEW had nothing to do with the negative aspects we often hear about WWE. Instead, Bryan’s signing had everything to do with the positive aspects of AEW. This is something WWE may want to be concerned about.

If they are unable to hold onto key talent such as a Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson, it might be a sign that the pendulum has swung inside the industry. Amongst wrestlers, WWE is no longer the promotion wrestlers dream of signing with. AEW is now in that role.

  • Bryan Danielson Explains Decision To Sign With AEW

Bryan Danielson Explains Decision To Sign With AEW

Bryan Danielson has explained why he ultimately decided to put pen to paper with AEW.

Danielson was reportedly showing up at the All Out PPV and that was indeed the case. His promotional debut followed up Adam Cole’s. Cole revealed himself to be the newest member of The Elite. Danielson made it clear that he’s a face, evening the odds and helping clear The Elite out of the ring after Christian Cage and Jurassic Express were attacked.

Bryan Danielson spoke to media members following the All Out event. He discussed making his final decision to join the AEW roster.

“So I heard something over the past week that one of the things that really turned Punk was the Brodie Lee show. It was also one of the things — I saw it and so many of us loved him so much and so we saw it and saw how special it was and we saw, like okay, we’re gonna stop what we’re normally doing. I thought that was really special to me.

“So that was when I really started kind of thinking about my contract coming up. But the final decision, honestly, was just like, I started thinking about things — WWE was so gracious with me as far as the offer that they gave me. They were gonna let me go do some other stuff on the outside, but, I hate to say this, Vince sometimes — He and I have a great relationship. I love him, I do. Sometimes he’s overprotective of me. I want to be able to push my limits. That’s one of the things that I love about this, is like the physicality of what we do out there and being able to push my limits and being able to do that here in a safe manner is one of the things that really drew me here.

“Then there’s also, I just think there’s an excitement, you know what I mean? There’s just an excitement. You see the crowd. I mean I think you all see it, probably were all out there and you felt it. You felt how excited people are about this product and it feels vibrant. Even just watching it through a TV screen in a trailer. I’m sitting there going, ‘God this is awesome. I want to be a part of this.’ So that was it. Although it was — I don’t know, I really battled back and forth because there’s a lot of people there that I consider family, that actually are legitimately my family, and you know, people that I love there so it was a really tough decision.”

All Out was held inside the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event featured the return of CM Punk as well as an AEW Tag Team Title match between The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros, which became an instant classic. Click here for the full AEW All Out results.

VIDEO: Bryan Danielson Speaks To Fans After AEW All Out

Bryan Danielson addressed the crowd following his big AEW debut.

It had been reported by Bodyslam.net that Danielson’s return was bumped up from the Sept. 22 Dynamite show in New York City to All Out on Sept. 5 in Hoffman Estates. That report was indeed correct.

Danielson made his entrance right after Adam Cole debuted in AEW to join The Elite. Danielson evened the odds for Christian Cage and Jurassic Express, who were attacked after the main event of All Out.

Danielson’s assist ended up helping the faces clean house. Ryan Droste posted video of Bryan addressing the crowd once the PPV went off the air.

“There’s some people around here who call themselves Elite. I’m gonna be here to see if they truly are…so AEW, let’s f*cking go!”

Danielson was last seen at the WrestleMania PPV back in April. He challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in a match that also involved Edge. Reigns ended up pinning both Danielson and Edge to retain.

It had been reported that Danielson’s contract came to an end and there was a negotiation period with WWE. It was reported that Bryan Danielson wanted to also wrestle in other places such as Japan. It got to the point where WWE’s Nick Khan was said to be in contact with NJPW but those talks went nowhere.

  • CM Punk Reacts To AEW Signing Bryan Danielson & Adam Cole

CM Punk Reacts To AEW Signing Bryan Danielson & Adam Cole

CM Punk has given his reaction to the AEW signings of Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole.

Danielson and Cole made their AEW debuts on Sept. 5 at the end of the All Out PPV. Cole was the first to make his surprise entrance, joining The Elite in their beatdown of Christian Cage and Jurassic Express. Danielson then evened the odds by fighting alongside the faces.

Speaking to reporters following the All Out PPV, Punk discussed the promotional debuts of Danielson and Cole.

“I mean, you know, pardon my lewdness, but I got a boner for that. Honestly, like, you know, I feel everybody has their own journey and their own story and their own experiences of where we used to work. You know, but I heard him say. I left and I don’t got a lot of good things to say, he left [Bryan] and he says he loved the place. But what does it mean when you love that place but you still don’t want to be there. You want to be here. I think that speaks volumes.

“Adam Cole is a guy that I’ve never wrestled and I know I’m going to sometime. I look forward to it. Daniel Bryan is a guy I have wrestled and I feel like that’ll happen somewhere down the line too. It’s like at Christmas. You know, I unwrap a gift, I don’t know what’s in it. It could be Adam Cole, could be Daniel Bryan, could be Kenny Omega, could be the Young Bucks, could be Will Hobbs, could be Ricky Starks. I mean it’s just endless, I am so happy right now.”

CM Punk was also featured on the All Out card. He had his first match in seven years, taking on Darby Allin. Punk scored the three-count after he hit the GTS.

  • Adam Cole Joins The Elite, Bryan Danielson Debuts At AEW All Out

Adam Cole Joins The Elite, Bryan Danielson Debuts At AEW All Out

Bryan Danielson, also known as Daniel Bryan from his time in WWE, and Adam Cole are now All Elite!

It happened after the AEW All Out pay-per-view event headliner where Kenny Omega beat Christian Cage to retain the World Title. Post-match, Omega and The Elite beat down Cage and Lucha Express.

Cole super kicked Jungle Boy and hugged The Elite. Cole said The Elite is the most dominant faction in the business and there’s no chance in hell that anyone is going to stop them. This led to Danielson coming out to stand with the babyfaces. A brawl broke out with the babyfaces standing tall to end the show.

Danielson was originally going to debut at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in New York City on September 23rd. However, there had been a growing concern about the spread of COVID-19. A mask mandate was issued for fans at this upcoming event in addition to fans needing to show proof of vaccination.

Danielson finished up his WWE commitments when he was banished from SmackDown earlier this year. In July, it was reported the former WWE star had indeed signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Cole became a free agent at the end of August after his short-term extension with WWE expired. He was last seen when he lost to Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36. Cole opted not to sign a new deal. All Elite Wrestling appeared to be his likely landing spot. That turned out to be the case.

  • CM Punk Wants To Team With Bryan Danielson To Face The Young Bucks

CM Punk Wants To Team With Bryan Danielson To Face The Young Bucks

CM Punk is adding fuel to the fire.

Bryan Danielson reportedly signed a deal with AEW. Bodyslam.net was the first to report the news and claimed the initial plan was to have him debut on the Sept. 22 Dynamite show in New York City. He has since updated the report, claiming Bryan’s debut has now been bumped up to the All Out PPV on Sept. 5.

Danielson has mostly remained silent since his last WWE appearance at WrestleMania but CM Punk has been dropping hints. During an appearance on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Punk expressed interest in teaming with Bryan Danielson to take on The Young Bucks.

“I wanna wrestle the Young Bucks. I’ve gotta find the right tag partner for that. I mean, if we’re fantasy booking, it’s…when does this come out? Saturday? Okay…I don’t think it’s necessarily giving away spoilers, it’s just me putting my booker hat on,”

“Of all the possibilities, I would do CM Punk and The American Dragon vs. The Young Bucks. It’s so obvious that’s what you do.”

As of now, Matt and Nick Jackson are the AEW Tag Team Champions. That could change tonight as they will defend their gold inside a steel cage at All Out.

  • Kurt Angle Can’t Believe WWE Let Bryan Danielson Leave for AEW

Kurt Angle Can’t Believe WWE Let Bryan Danielson Leave for AEW

Olympic Gold medalist Kurt Angle spoke with Nick Hausman this past week for the Wrestling Inc Daily podcast. They discussed a variety of current events, including AEW’s popularity and reports that Bryan Danielson will soon be All Elite.

Kurt Angle was one of the top Superstars during the Attitude Era, a time when WWE attracted young adults in droves. In recent years, WWE has toned down the product and is geared to be more family-friendly. Angle thinks that AEW is gaining ground with the demographic that brought WWE monster success twenty years ago.

“WWE are losing the young adults,” said Angle. “The 18 to 40 years olds that WWE had during the Attitude Era, that’s more the way AEW’s direction is right now. They’re swearing on the air, they’re putting up the middle fingers. It’s more of an Attitude Era attitude.”

Kurt Angle on Bryan Danielson to AEW

Angle also commented on the rumor that Bryan Danielson will be joining AEW in the near future. Angle says he’s very surprised by this development and never thought WWE would let him go.

“Daniel was a big part of the company for the past ten or so years,” said Angle. “He was literally the top babyface in the company for a few years, so, I’m really surprised they let him go. But Daniel is probably happier in AEW for whatever reason. I don’t know if it was money or if he wasn’t happy with the direction of his character, but it had to be something that made him leave.”

As of this writing, Bryan Danielson remains a free agent and has not yet appeared for All Elite Wrestling.

  • CM Punk Addresses Bryan Danielson to AEW Rumors

CM Punk Addresses Bryan Danielson to AEW Rumors

CM Punk has had trouble containing his enthusiasm for Bryan Danielson potentially joining him in AEW. He recently told a live AEW crowd that they might have to “be patient” after a “Yes!” chant broke out.

During an interview with WFAN, Punk addressed the rumors of Bryan potentially debuting in the company. “Listen, the 7 years I was gone, if you told me who is the one guy that could get you back to wrestling, you just have one match with them, it would be him,” Punk said when asked about Bryan on the show.

“I don’t know if that answers your question or not. The guy was in the WrestleMania main event 6 months ago, so that would be a huge acquisition. I think he could, just like me, I think he could do everything he wants to do.”

“For a guy like him and me, pro wrestling is art, this is our art.”

    – CM Punk

Tony Khan was also asked about the rumors of Bryan Danielson during an interview on Wrestling Observer Radio. Khan opted not to answer questions about Danielson during the discussion, however.

“I can’t answer that question. It’s fair for you to ask that question but it’s not anything I could address on the Observer today but it’s fair enough for you to ask it. He’s one of the all-time greats,” Khan said.

  • CM Punk Drops Bryan Danielson Hints On AEW Dynamite, Instagram

CM Punk Drops Bryan Danielson Hints On AEW Dynamite, Instagram

CM Punk has delivered a massive tease in regards to Bryan Danielson.

Punk appeared on AEW Dynamite for the first time on Aug. 25. The self-proclaimed “Best in the World” made his return to the pro wrestling industry on Aug. 20. He opened up the second episode of AEW Rampage to a thunderous ovation inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

On Dynamite, Punk explained why he felt now is the right time to step inside the AEW ring. As fans chanted “Yes!” during Punk’s promo, he dropped quite the hint.

“That’s somebody else’s shtick and you might just need to be a little more patient, ok?” The crowd erupted at the prospect of Danielson joining Punk in AEW.

To add fuel to the fire, CM Punk posted a close-up photo of a handshake on his Instagram Story late Wednesday night. Longtime fans might recognize that handshake. Zoom out and you’ll see that it’s a photo of Punk and Danielson from their days in Ring of Honor.

    Is Bryan Danielson All Elite?

Bryan is reportedly locked in with AEW. It’s been said that he’ll be making his promotional debut on the Sept. 22 Dynamite show in New York City.

Bryan hasn’t been seen in action since WrestleMania 37. He was defeated in a triple threat match that involved Roman Reigns and Edge. Reigns ended up winning the match to retain the WWE Universal Championship.

When asked about the report of Bryan Danielson being signed to AEW, Tony Khan has said he can’t comment on it. It’s important to note that usually when a false rumor is made about AEW, Khan has no problem dismissing it. He had the same approach to the Punk report where he wouldn’t comment on whether or not it was true.

  • Daniel Bryan & “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt Action Figures Shown On Being The Elite

Daniel Bryan & “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt Action Figures Shown On Being The Elite

The latest episode of Being the Elite features teases of both Bray Wyatt and Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan. During the episode, members of the Elite discover a 2-pack of WWE action figures in a store. The two wrestlers featured in the pack are Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan.

“Hey Kenny, what’s behind you?” Matt Jackson and Brandon Cutler ask Kenny Omega in the video. When Omega turns around he sees several AEW action figures as well as a 2-pack of WWE action figures. He then pulled out the 2-pack of Wyatt and Danielson.

Omega recognized Wyatt but didn’t seem to know who the other guy in the pack was.

“One guy is a fiend, I don’t know about…” Omega says before putting his own action figure in front of the pack on the shelf.

The segment begins around the 20-minute mark of the below video:

Are Bray Wyatt and Bryan Danielson Headed To AEW?

During a recent AEW media call, SEScoops asked Cody Rhodes about the possibility of Bray Wyatt ended up in the promotion.

“I tell a lot of my peers in wrestling and people I use as a sounding board, I always tell them, ‘you can’t wish away good talent,’ especially when you get in a groove as a talent yourself,” Rhodes responded. “And it’s not unlike the world that Tony [Khan] comes from already, the world of the NFL and football in the UK. If there’s a free agent out there that can move the needle and be something significant for us… personally, I think you have to go after them.”

As for Bryan Danielson, a report from BodySlam last month stated that he has signed with AEW. The rumored date and location for Bryan’s debut is the Dynamite Grand Slam event from Arthur Ashes Stadium on September 22nd.
