Bully Ray Wants To Fight Hogan At Bound For Glory & Talks About Who He Wants In Aces & Eights

During a TNA Slammiversary Q&A session that took place over the weekend, TNA World Champion Bully Ray commented on the possibility of Hulk Hogan wrestling at Bound For Glory:

“At the end of the day, everyone wants to see Hulk Hogan drop that big leg one more town … I would love to fight Hulk Hogan – in his last match.”

As for which TNA star he thinks would be a good addition to Aces & Eights, he said:

“There is a badass out there that hasn’t been around for awhile. He’s a bad dude that has a mean streak, and it’s Crimson.”

Finally, Bully was asked which company (ECW, WWE, TNA) was the best to work for:

“Every single one of those companies have so many good qualities, and so many bad. The great part of ECW was you got to do whatever you wanted to do, and be whoever you wanted to be. Paul [Heyman] encouraged you to speak up and … become a better performer. When you get to WWE, that doesn’t go over so well.”

Sting, Bully Ray & Daniels Hype Sunday’s Slammiversary PPV

Several of TNA’s top superstars spoke to the Boston Herald this week to promote Sunday’s Slammiversary XI pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what the following stars said:

Bully Ray: “TNA is the best wrestling product out there. We have some of the greatest veterans of pro wrestling and some of the greatest modern-day wrestlers. There’s great in-ring action, great talkers, great brawlers and hot girls. Anything that you want in pro wrestling, you can find in TNA.”

Sting: “This Sunday is going to be intense,.There is a large wrestling audience that doesn’t want to say goodbye to my generation — guys like myself and Hogan — and still appreciates us. It’s the same for me. It’s hard to walk away. I want to give Boston something to remember.”

Christopher Daniels: “This is TNA’s first time in Boston,” said Bully Ray. “This is enemy territory. I’m a New Yorker from Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. I’m a New York Yankee fan. I’m overlooking Fenway, standing atop the Green Monster, and I feel like the evil emperor . . . Our roster is second to none. When you put us in the ring and really give us the chance to go, we deliver. We’re looking to steal the show this Sunday.”

Main Event Announced For Next Week’s Impact Wrestling, Multiple Wrestlers Return Tonight

It was announced on Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling that Sting will team up with Joseph Park to face Team 3D—TNA World Champion Bully Ray and TNA Television Champion Devon—on next week’s show. Days later at Slammiversary, Sting will challenge Ray for his title while Park will challenge Devon for his.

Shark Boy resurfaced in an attempt to convince “Cowboy” James Storm to select him as his tag team partner for the World Tag Team Championship Match against Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez at Slammiversary (Robbie E also appeared to try to convince Storm). This was followed by the return of Gunner, who took out Shark Boy as well Robbie E. Storm then confronted Gunner and said he would “See him at Slammiversary.” He then shook his hand.

Bully Ray Issues Another Apology For Anti-Gay Insults Towards TNA Fan

During last week’s Impact Wrestling taping in Chicago, Illinois, TNA World Heavyweight champion Bully Ray unleashed a slew of anti-gay remarks towards a fan in the audience.

After he and TNA President Dixie Carter apologized earlier this week for his outburst, Bully Ray issued another apology on Thursday, saying that he has since apologized to the fan personally:

Video: Bully Ray Uses Anti-Gay Insults Towards A Fan At TNA Impact

TNA World Heavyweight champion Bully Ray got into a heated altercation with a fan at last Thursday’s Impact Wrestling tapings from Chicago, Illinois. While Aces & Eights was leaving the ringside area through the crowd, Bully got into a fan’s face, seemingly unprovoked, and unleashed the following anti-gay attack:

“Sit down, faggot. Yeah… What are you gonna do? You ain’t gonna do a damn thing. You got punked in your own frickin’ town. I’m punkin’ you out in front of .. I’m gonna say your daughter. You got punked! You invented fags, you fag. You should’ve did something already, you should’ve did something already, but you ain’t doing nothing’. I’m punking you in front of your hometown. You frickin’ queer. You shave your frickin’ chest.”

Bully Ray is no stranger to riling up crowds with his words. Back in ECW, he would walk (and often) cross the line all the time, with several of his promos nearly inciting riots amongst ECW’s mature fanbase.

Both Bully Ray and TNA President Dixie Carter tweeted about the incident apologizing for his conduct:

Jarring with the crowd is a move out of the “Wrestling Heel 101” playbook. However, in this day and age, the verbal attacks used by Bully Ray are way beyond what is acceptable by anybody, let alone the World champion of a national wrestling promotion.

  • Hit up the COMMENTS below and tell us what you think about the situation. Did Bully Ray really cross the line – or was he just playing a character? Is it too “soft” to prohibit wrestling characters from using hate speech, or should certain things be off limits?

Bully Ray Involved In Fan Incident At Impact (Video)

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray was involved in an incident with a fan at Thursday night’s Impact Wrestling taping from Chicago, Illinois.

After the opening segment of the show, where Aces & Eights took out Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez and Bully Ray explained why he betrayed the Hogans at Lockdown, the outlaw group left through the crowd.

As they were exiting, a fan reached out and tried to strike Bully Ray. Atlas Security quickly rushed in, pulled the fan out of the stands and escorted him to the back.

Bully Ray Talks About Being A Babyface & Working With Hulk Hogan

TNA star Bully Ray was recently interview by the UK’s The Sun newspaper. Here are some highlights of what Bully said about:

Working As A Babyface After Being A Heel For Years:

“You guys in the press like to use words like heel, babyface, good guy and bad guy. I’m not a heel and I’m not a babyface. I’m not a good guy and I’m not a bad guy. I’m me. Whatever me is at the time is what I am. The difference between me and everyone else is that if you like me, you really, really, really like me. You love me. But if you hate me, you despise me. I guess that’s a win-win for everybody.

“You’ve never seen me change who I am out there in that wrestling ring. I don’t wrestle differently, I don’t talk differently. I don’t beg the people for approval and I don’t beg them to hate me. I just am who I am. They can make the decisions.”

What It’s Like To Work with Hulk Hogan:

“I have done so much and been in the ring with so many of the greats. However, when you grow up in New York City, and you were force-fed WWF for as long as I did, and you remember the first day Hulk Hogan showed up on your television set. You remember HulkaMania happening and evolving in your back yard. Hulk Hogan paved the way for everybody. There’s a respect level that comes with working with Hulk Hogan. He’s The Beatles of our business.

“I don’t care if you think he’s not the ‘greatest pro wrestler’ in the world. Who gives a s*** if he can’t reverse an armbar? You didn’t pay money to see Hulk Hogan reverse armbars or do arm drags. You paid to be entertained by him, to see him Hulk up, do a big boot and a legdrop.”

Bully Ray Injury Update, Joseph Park Twitter Q&A, New TNA TV Deal

– TNA star Joseph Park will be doing a Q&A session on Twitter tomorrow night one hour before Impact Wrestling goes on the air. You can submit your questions on twitter by using the hashtag #AskJoseph.

The TNA website now has an article up covering the possible “injury.” While Bully Ray will not be wrestling on tomorrow night’s Impact, he does return to action in future episodes of Impact (already recorded), so the injury is a work and he’s playing up an angle from a month ago.

– TNA has signed a new TV deal in Germany with the Sport1 channel. Starting Wednesday March 6th, a 1-hour edited version of Impact will air followed by a “Best of Impact” show.

Brooke & Bully’s Marital Status, Why Taz Joined Aces & Eights, Impact Opening

– Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan are married according to TNA storylines, despite the fact that they were never pronounced husband and wife to the attack by Aces & Eights. There was reportedly a lot of internal confusion in TNA as to whether they were married in TNA storylines, with even Hulk Hogan tweeting after the wedding that even though he got beat down by Aces & Eights, “Taz screwed everyone, the one good thing was the wedding came to an immediate halt, thank God. HH.”

– The reason TNA announcer Taz turned heel and joined Aces & Eights is because the company wanted a surprise person to break up the Brooke Hogan wedding and they wanted the faction to have a strong talker on their side. The downside of Taz working as a heel with Aces & Eights is that the neck injury which ended his career also prevents him from doing anything physical in TNA.

Bully Ray Talks About Him & Devon Getting Initiated In WWE By JBL & Ron Simmons

TNA star Bully Ray appeared on Sam Roberts’ Sirius XM satellite radio show on Thursday morning and spoke about being initiated in WWE by JBL, Ron Simmons and Vince McMahon.”When me and Devon first got to WWE, they thought that they were going to have a real problem with us because there was another tag team that had come in from ECW that left a real bad taste in people’s mouth and they were The Public Enemy… They went there and they had really, really bad attitudes…

“When me and Devon were going to come in, they were probably thinking to themselves in WWE that these guys are even more successful than The Public Enemy, these guys are the It tag team in ECW, they’re going to be ten times worse. That wasn’t the case at all. The minute we got there we got put in the ring with Ron Simmons and Bradshaw. We just beat the shit out of each other. We took it as good as we could give it and everything was fine. It was a smooth transition. We got along well with everybody and we had a great six year run there…

“Bradshaw told me a story years later. I actually had a singles match with him on either Raw or Smackdown. I had gone to the ring. Just as Bradshaw was about to go to the ring, Vince McMahon pulled him on the side and said, ‘Beat the shit out of this kid, let’s see what he’s got.’ Bradshaw came to the ring and he started laying into me and I started laying into him just as hard. There were are two beasts punching each other just about as hard as you can. All of a sudden we just sort of realized what was going on, and then we went right back to entertaining the people… Afterwards, he told me that he went up to Vince McMahon and said, ‘These boys are going to be just fine.'”

“He had his guys for that. He had Ron and John. If he wanted somebody else for that he would use Bob Holly. Then again, me Bradshaw, and Bob Holly got lumped into the big bully clique. We would bully all the young guys, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. I’ve never bullied one person in wrestling. I will impose my will as a businessman on them, but I will not bully them.”

Taz responded to those comments, tweeting:

“@REALBully5150 dead? I just came to LIFE! All business big man.”

Dixie Carter then responded to Taz:

“Business?? Really, big man??”

Video From Brooke Hogan & Bully Ray’s Wedding On Impact

On Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, the wedding of Brooke Hogan and Bully Ray took place – and surprisingly, things did not go off without a hitch. There was a hitch. A few hitches. In typical “pro wrestling wedding” fashion, the nuptials were interrupted and the bride wound up crying, screaming and not married.

This wedding that had it all – ECW groomsmen, a surprise heel turn, the groom and the father of the bride getting destroyed by a gang of masked thugs and Hulk Hogan’s bandana getting knocked off.

Bully Ray Talks About CM Punk, TNA’s New PPV Schedule, TNA vs. WWE, “Marrying” Brooke Hogan

Bully Ray joined Dave Lagreca and Doug Mortman on Busted Open radio live in studio to promote his wedding with Brooke Hogan on this Thursday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling. Here are some highlights.

Bully Ray on CM Punk: “I’m going to put somebody over right now. I normally don’t put anyone over, but I want to give CM Punk credit. I’m a Punk fan. You know why I’m a Punk fan? Because that bastard says what’s on his mind. There is one thing that he doesn’t have that I respect and that’s fear. He has no fear. He so reminds me of someone who would fit into the ECW locker room. He’s got balls as big as mine. Back in the day when I was starting riots, that if I did that s–t today, I’d be sued for life and probably wind up dead behind bars. And they don’t have a choice in what he says because he is going to say whatever the hell he wants, and I love it. He is the punk rock version of pro wrestling, and that’s what we were back in the day. To see that be so real and honest and he is so friggin angry, I love it. I love his anger. Punk will stay out there for fifteen minutes and talk on that mic and never trip over a line. You know why? There are not lines. It’s real emotion. It’s how he really feels. That’s what makes it beautiful.”

TNA’s new PPV schedule: “I think it’s good for business as far as people being emotionally invested and really interested in what’s going on. From a dollars and cents point of view, I can only hope it makes sense for TNA. I like to compare everything to sex. Even sex gets too much at times. A pay per view every single month, you kind of get burned out on it. What really is special and what is not special? Sometimes you may watch a pay per view and say actually Thursday night’s Impact was better than the pay per view. So what did I spend my money on? I remember as a kid growing up, the Wrestlemanias, the Royal Rumbles, the Survivor Series, the Summerslams, the Starrcades. The special shows that you really, really built to. You built real emotional investment. Where you said to yourself, ‘I absolutely, positively have to see this show.’ With pay per views nowadays, whether it’s WWE, TNA, Ring of Honor. Is there anything that’s must see anymore? Ok I know I must see Bound For Glory, and I know I must see Wrestlemania. What else?”

Why TNA is not tackling the big markets: “There aren’t a lot of topics that I won’t answer you guys on. This one I’m going to step away from, for the very simple fact that my opinions might not mesh with their business opinions. All I know is this, in New York City, a small underground company with no better than a midnight spot on cable television fifteen years ago sold this city out every single time. TNA should be doing the same thing. I would love to see TNA get on board a little bit with the more traditional style of wrestling promotion, and getting word out to the fans a little more than just the TV show and the internet. I do believe that a company who is still growing like TNA, you really do need to do the gorilla marketing, the grassroots marketing. I do believe that TNA should be appearing more and more in New York, in Philadelphia, in Boston, in Chicago and Detroit. Hardcore wrestling fanatics, cities where people will really sink their teeth into your product, people will really jump on board. I’m not quite sure why they stay away from the Northeats as much as they do.”

A potential match with Jeff Hardy: “Me and Jeff had a ton of history. Everybody knows about the TLC matches. The Hardys vs the Dudleys. All of the history that we made together. Got to give Jeff a ton of credit for bouncing back from his personal issues. I never held a grudge against Jeff for his personal issues, when actually, I’m the guy that should probably hold the biggest grudge. Because when Jeff was going through his personal issues, who did the company turn too to make everyone forget that Jeff Hardy was on the shelf? Me! And in a week’s time, you forgot he was gone. I was the guy who stepped up and hit grand slam after grand slam every single week. No grudges, no jealousy, no nothing. TNA is better with Jeff Hardy as the champion. TNA is a better company. Professional wrestling is better with Jeff Hardy. Nothing but respect, but I do want another opportunity.”

If Hulk Hogan will attend the wedding: “He is either going to accept me or he is not going to accept me. All I know is that tomorrow night on Spike TV, I am going to marry his daughter. If that doesn’t make him accept me, than I don’t know what will. At the end of the day no matter what kind of animosity and heat me and Hulk have, I really do hope that he is there on Thursday. I want him to walk his daughter down the aisle. I want him to give his daughter away. I want him to be happy. I want him to be happy for his daughter and I want him to be happy because of my respect level for the industry that he paved the road for me. That’s the bottom line.”

Several pro wrestlers are throwing Bully Ray’s bachelor party at the famous Rick’s Cabaret New York this Wednesday night, January 16th. On the guest list are some rock and roll notables and other pro athletes who are friends of the groom.

Following dinner they have reserved the entire roof deck and smoking lounge to enjoy cigars and brandy.

Hulk Hogan, who disapproves of the wedding, was invited to the bachelor party, and it remains to be seen if he will show up.

Mr. Ray said, “I’m looking forward to my bachelor party. Rick’s Cabaret has the hottest women.”

Rick’s Cabaret Girl Mandy said, “We love all the pro athletes, it will be an awesome party with non-stop lap dances!”

Rick’s Cabaret Girl Maya met Bully Ray on a previous visit to the club. “He is such a man! I wanted him all to myself, but Brooke Hogan must have won his heart,” she sighed.
