Cena Addresses Carlito’s Release, Reason For R-Truth’s Absence

— John Cena said today on his Twitter account that he was “sad to hear” about Carlito’s release from WWE. WWE announced yesterday that he was released due to a violation of the company’s drug testing program and subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.

“I am sad to hear WWE has decided to release Carlito,” Cena wrote on Twitter. “I always thought he could, and should have accomplished more than he did. I wish him the best.”

Jim Ross also addressed Carlito’s release, writing on Twitter: “Too bad to hear Carlito got released 4 wellness issues. Talented young man. Hope he gets back on track. The ball’s n his court. Pulling 4 him.”

— R-Truth was unable to work WWE’s tour of Canada this past week because he is prohibited from entering the country as a result of receiving a citation a few years ago.

In December 2008, he was detained at the Canadian border upon his arrival in the country and subsequently sent home.

Carlito Released By WWE After Refusing Rehab

WWE.com has announced that Carlito (Carlos Colon) has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract as of today May 21, 2010.

According to WWE, “Carlito’s termination was due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.”

The Rock Getting Fast & Furious? Dos Caras, Colons

– DeadlineHollywood.com reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be joining the cast of the upcoming Fast & Furious movie, the fifth film in the series.

– WWE has had Dos Caras work without his traditional Mexican mask since working dark matches at recent live events. There was concern that Dos may wrestle for the first time ever in Mexico without a mask on the current Mexican tour but that didn’t happen. WWE allowed Dos to keep his mask on as he defeated William Regal at the RAW live event last night in Monterrey. Dos had been working as a heel on WWE live events but worked as a babyface at last night’s show in Mexico.

– WWE will be releasing future movies on DVD shortly after they end in theaters. Vince McMahon said yesterday in the conference call that WWE is looking to get the benefit of promoting the DVD and the theatrical release at once. Overseas, movies will be released on DVD the same day as they come out in theaters but it will be a wait of a few weeks here in the States.

– In case you missed it on last night’s WWE Superstars, Carlito and Primo Colon are back together as a tag team. The first-ever WWE Unified Tag Team Champions are set to feud with the current Champions, The Hart Dynasty.

Carlito & Primo Colon

WWE’s first Unified Tag Team Champions – Carlito and Primo Colon – are back together, as of Tuesday’s WWE Superstars tapings.

Carlito fought Primo in a match that went to a no contest after Carlito refused to finish his brother off. Seven minutes into the match, Carlito was going for his Backstabber finisher but instead dropped his brother and grabbed a microphone from ringside. Carlito said the fans don’t care about him and his brother anymore and they’d love to see the two of them destroy each other. Carlito said there will be no more of that – and the Colon boys hugged and left the ring together  Carlito’s NXT Rookie Michael Tarver was at ringside and didn’t seem too happy about the reunion.

WWE has been planning to turn the Colon brothers heel and have them feud with The Hart Dynasty for the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles. It’s also expected that their cousin, Tito (Orlando) Colon, will be called up from developmental soon to join the Colon brothers.

New Feud For The Hart Dynasty, JTG’s Planned Move To Raw

— Carlito and Primo Colon are expected to be put together as a tag team and feud with The Hart Dynasty over the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship.

— It was announced during Tuesday’s WWE Supplemental Draft that JTG had been drafted from SmackDown to Raw. However, it was announced minutes later that the move had been rescinded and that JTG would remain on SmackDown. While it has yet to disclosed why JTG didn’t change brands, the move was planned ahead of time as he is advertised for Raw events over the next few weeks.

Carlito Working Outside WWE, Wrestler Says He Was Not Fired

— Carlito will be competing at World Wrestling Council’s Euphoria 2010 event this Saturday in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He will be squaring off against former TNA talent “El Mesías” Ricky Banderas in the main event. The WWE star took part in a contract signing angle for the match, which you can view at the following link. Also, Carlito can be seen cutting a promo hyping the match at the following link.

— It was reported over the weekend that developmental wrestler Chris Raaber was recently released by World Wrestling Entertainment. In a blog post on his MySpace page, Raaber is claiming that all rumors of him being let go by WWE are completely false. While he’s currently situated in his home country of Austria, he says he will be returning to Tampa within the next eleven months.

— Matches being advertised for WWE’s Raw live event in Champaign, Illinois on 1/24 include John Cena vs. Sheamus, Triple H vs. Big Show and Evan Bourne vs. The Miz.

Rey Mysterio, Carlito & Maryse Return To Action

A few WWE superstars and Divas returned to the ring this weekend at their brands’ respective live events:

– Rey Mysterio returned to action at the SmackDown live event in Maryland, defeating Chris Jericho in the main event. A fan report from the show says Rey wasn’t selling the injury from Batista at all. Mysterio suffered a brutal attack at the hands of Batista after their match at Survivor Series. – WWE Diva Maryse returned to the ring at Friday night’s RAW live event in Johnson City, Tennessee.

– Carlito made his return to action at that same show defeating WWE developmental talent Alex Riley. There have been reports that Carlito is currently in the “dog house” and not on good terms with WWE management. Read More: Carlito In The WWE Dog House?
