Chelsea Green Details Her Return To Impact Wrestling

Chelsea Green has had a big week. Despite having a broken arm, Green made surprise appearances on the ROH PPV on July 11th and then Impact’s Slammiversary PPV on July 17th.

Green talked about returning to Impact Wrestling on her “Green with Envy” podcast. She said that she contacted Impact immediately following her release from WWE.

“It was definitely my first instinct when I got fired from WWE to pick up the phone and call my old bosses at Impact Wrestling,” Green said (transcriptions via Fightful).

“I left Impact on great terms with everyone and kept in touch with everyone throughout the years.”

She continued to say that her old bosses at Impact knew that she had to find out for herself if WWE was right for her.

“Impact welcomed me back with open arms and I’m so thankful for them,” she continued.

Green also talked about how the Maryland Athletic Commission would not allow her to wrestle with a broken arm. This prevented her from wrestling at ROH’s Best in the World PPV. Green did wrestle on Slammiversary, however. She teamed with her partner Matt Cardona and defeated the team of Brian Myers and Tenille Dashwood.

“[Tennessee] doesn’t have a health commission. So they cannot ban me from wrestling with a broken arm. So, I f***ing did it. Last week, I was upset that I couldn’t wrestle for Ring of Honor in the Women’s Championship tournament, but I understood why. The Maryland commission was not having it, but in Nashville, it’s balls to the wall and we were good to go.”

In addition to now appearing for both ROH and Impact, Green has made no secret that she hopes to be on the NWA Empowerrr show next month.

Thunder Rosa, Jay White, Chelsea Green & Other Surprises From Impact’s Slammiversary PPV

Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary PPV was once again built around the intrigue of who could show up. Between WWE releases that are free of their 90-day no-compete windows to wrestlers walking through the forbidden door, the show was filled with surprises, teases, and new roster additions. Every surprise from the show is listed below:

Jay White Is In The Impact Zone!

After Kenny Omega defeated Sami Callihan in the main event, he was celebrating in the ring with the Good Brothers and Doc Gallows. Then Bullet Club music hit and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and current NEVER Openweight Champion Jay White entered.

White and Omega’s history in Bullet Club runs deep. White actually turned down an offer to join the faction from Omega himself, instead siding with CHAOS. It would be White who would defeat Omega for the IWGP United States Championship in 2018. Later that year, White would join Bullet Club but only after the Elite was established as being a separate group. Has the Bullet Club civil war started up again?

The camera cut away before fans could see if White put up the 2 Sweet sign for the Elite. Fans will just have to wait until Thursday night to find out.

Thunder Rosa Faces Deonna Purrazzo

Thunder Rosa was the surprise opponent for Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary. She put up a solid outing against the Knockouts Champion but Purrazzo came out the victor with the Queen’s Gambit in the end. Today is the 1 year anniversary of Purrazzo first winning the title. She lost it briefly to Su Yung for a period of 3 weeks but then won it back. She’s been Knockouts champion 49 out of the last 52 weeks.

Mickie James Invites Deonna Purrazzo To NWA Empowerrr

After Deonna Purrazzo had defeated the former NWA Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa, Mickie James came to the ring. James invited Purrazzo to be part of the NWA Empowerrr PPV next month in St. Louis. Purrazzo was more upset that James stole her moment, however. The Knockouts Champion told Mickie to grab her trash bag and get out of there.

Chelsea Green Is Back!

Chelsea Green was a surprise at the Ring of Honor PPV last weekend, and now has done the same for Impact this weekend. She was Matt Cardona’s surprise partner against Brian Myers and Tenille Dashwood. Green had teased she would not be there due to her arm, but she found a way to use her injury to her advantage as she hit Dashwood with her cast. Green finished off Dashwood with the UnPrettyHer to cap off her return.

No Way Jose Arrives In Impact Wrestling

No Way Jose was released by WWE last year. After Tommy Dreamer referencing the guy on occasion for the last year, he finally actually arrived on the show. Just wrestling under the name “No Way”, he was Fallah Bah’s surprise partner for the 4-way tag title match.

The Drama King Is On His Way

The former Aiden English was teased in a vignette on Slammiversary. “The Drama King” was revealed to be on his way to the promotion. The former Vaudevillian and Rusev Day member didn’t appear on camera and wasn’t on the show, but appears to be coming to the promotion soon.

FinJuice Returns!

Former Impact Tag Team Champions, Juice Robinson and David Finlay, are back in the promotion. In an impromptu unadvertised match, FinJuice defeated Madman Fulton and Shera. The last time they were in Impact, they defeated the Good Brothers for the tag titles. The Good Brothers just won those titles back.

Impact, NWA, & ROH All Tease “Forbidden Door” Talent Exchanges

Several wrestling companies are now walking through wrestling’s “Forbidden Door.” The term used recently to describe talent exchanges between promotions was coined shortly after “Winter is Coming” in December. Kenny Omega won the AEW World Championship and Don Callis promptly announced he would be taking the title with him to Impact’s weekly show.

Promotions such as Impact, the NWA, and Ring of Honor have all been teasing new forbidden door type exchanges online.

AEW’s FTR and The NWA

As for the NWA and AEW’s “forbidden door” relationship, the NWA recently took part in a Twitter exchange with FTR.

The NWA also responded to a fan who brought up the Crockett Cup.

Everyone Wants To Wrestle Deonna Purrazzo, Deonna Purrazzo Wants To Wrestle Everyone

Ring of Honor doesn’t appear to be out of this game either. Purrazzo appears to be teasing possibly wrestling in the NWA and Ring of Honor.

If Purrazzo didn’t have enough on her plate, the AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker appears motivated to face her as well. Scott D’Amore recently mentioned on Vickie Guerrero’s podcast that Baker cornered him regarding a match with the Knockouts Champ.

“I got cornered by Britt Baker down in Jacksonville a few weeks ago and she’s like, ‘When do I get Deonna?’ I said, ‘Hey, Britt oh, come on. We’ve always said we have an open-door policy and we’re open to doing it,’” D’Amore said on the show.

Impact, the NWA, and Kylie Rae

According to a report from Fightful, Pat Kenney was a key person in the deal that allowed Kylie Rae out of her Impact contract in order to sign with the NWA. The former Simon Diamond was employed by TNA/Impact from 2003 to 2017 and keeps a good relationship with Scott D’Amore. Additionally, Impact is said to be planning further talent-hopping relationships with other promotions in the future.

ROH, NWA, and Impact All Tweeting At Each Other

ROH’s Ian Riccaboni pointed out that upcoming shows in St. Louis (NWA), Baltimore (ROH), and Nashville (Impact) can fit tidily into one road trip.

He continued to say that Jacksonville (AEW) would be another potential stop on the tour but that some cities do appear to be off limits.

Chelsea Green recently debuted for Ring of Honor. She has a history already with Impact and has made no secret of wanting on the NWA Empowerrr show.

Update on Chelsea Green’s Status With Ring of Honor

Former WWE NXT Superstar Chelsea Green recently made a shock appearance for Ring of Honor. The star, who is engaged to fellow former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona/Zack Ryder, appeared during the Best In The World PPV this weekend.

It is believed that Chelsea Green will now be part of the Women’s Championship Tournament, which has been organized on television by Maria Kanellis. Chelsea Green will likely be facing Mandy Leon in the opening round of the tournament which also includes the likes of Allysin Kay, Angelina Love and Holidead.

Chelsea Green Appears at Best In The World

According to a recent report from Fightful, the agreement to bring Green into the company was confirmed well over a month ago. Select also noted that Green reportedly had to get clearance from WWE to appear on the PPV before her 90-day non-compete clause had finished.

Chelsea Green was released from WWE on April 15 and several sites reported that a number of released WWE Superstars had requested that their non-compete clauses be rescinded. Green is believed to be one of those who asked shortly after leaving, otherwise she may have been running into some legal issues after the PPV appearance.

Green is also believed to be appearing on ROH programming in a commentary position, but as of right now she does not technically have a contract with Ring of Honor.

Chelsea Green Makes Her ROH Debut At Best In The World

Chelsea Green has arrived in ROH. She did so by appearing at Sunday’s Best in The World PPV and announcing her participation in the tournament to crown a new Women’s Champion that starts on July 30th.

Green was released by WWE due to budget cuts and able to get out of her non-compete clause early. Fightful Select reports Green isn’t under contract with ROH for now but will work the TV tapings this week.

Green signed with WWE NXT in 2018 after a run in Impact Wrestling. Green made her main roster debut back on the November 13th, 2020 edition of SmackDown when she competed in a Fatal Four-Way match to determine the final member of the Women’s Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Those involved in the bout were Natalya, Liv Morgan, and Tamina. The finish saw Morgan pin Tamina.

In the match, she suffered a wrist injury and had to get surgery done. As a result, she was put on the shelf.  She signed a contract extension with the company during her time away from the ring.

Green had been making progress towards an in-ring return since before the Royal Rumble in January and it was reported that she had been cleared to make a return. However, the decision was made to cut her.

Chelsea Green Talks Matt Cardona vs Nick Gage Angle

Former WWE Superstar Chelsea Green recently spoke to Inside The Ropes. The former NXT performer discussed a number of topics during the interview, including the recent angle between her partner Matt Cardona/Zack Ryder and GCW Champion Nick Gage.

Matt Cardona and Nick Gage had been feuding online and teasing something in-ring for quite some time. It was an interesting angle for Cardona to take; as he wouldn’t usually be associated with the deathmatch style of wrestling that Gage is known as the King of.

Nick Gage defended his GCW Championship at the recent Zombie Walk event, and after the bout he was attacked by someone dressed as a ‘druid’ type of character. It turned out to be Matt Cardona, but he adopted some of Jon Moxley’s mannerisms and even hit the Paradigm Shift DDT, fooling the fans in attendance.

Chelsea Green on Matt Cardona vs Nick Gage

“I mean, I loved it! I was REALLY excited for it” Chelsea Green said of the angle and Matt Cardona’s involvement. “And I’m mostly excited because I do feel like he was put in a box in the WWE; and maybe it was him that wanted to be in that box, maybe it was him that never pushed to get out of that box – but this is his chance to show the world SO much more.”

“He’s been wrestling for so long – since he was 18, he’s now 36″ Green continued. “I mean, he’s really been a wrestling fan since he was, like, three years old.”

“But I just feel like this puts a little bit more validity behind his name and I love that for him. I think he deserves that” Chelsea Green would finish.

Matt Cardona vs Nick Gage is scheduled to take place at GCW Homecoming for the Game Changer Wrestling Championship. The show will be available to purchase on FITE TV.

Nikki Bella Sends Messages To Recently Released WWE Superstars

Former WWE Superstar and Hall of Famer Nikki Bella recently took to Instagram to write messages to some recently released WWE Superstars. Bella specifically mentioned Ruby Riott, Mickie James, The IIconics, Lana and Chelsea Green.

“I have been shocked to say the least about some of the releases lately at WWE” Bella began on Instagram. “Wanted to write a thank you post to the women that have given their everything to the wrestling industry. Mind, body, soul and time”.

“I was so honored to share the ring with some of you and the ones I hadn’t I was so looking forward to one day sharing it” Nikki Bella continued. “Ruby Riott you were one of my favorite matches, you are such a selfless, kind, and incredibly talented woman.”

Nikki Bella on Released Superstars

“Mickie James you are an icon” Bella added. “I always hoped to have had a badass storyline with you. I know we could have created magic. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, goodness our future wrote itself, Brie and I were dreaming of fighting for the tag titles against the both of you. You two were a magic duo!”

Nikki Bella then finished by praising Lana and Chelsea Green. “Lana you shined in and out of that ring, loved our Total Divas days and traveling the world together. So many amazing laughs and memories!”

“And Chelsea Green, was super excited to see what you were going to bring! Thank you all for the entertainment and the memories! I know the future is so bright for you all! Can’t wait to follow you all wherever you may go.???? #womenswrestling”

It’s not confirmed at this time when Nikki and Brie intend on returning to the ring themselves. The twins recently gave birth, with Nikki becoming a mother for the first time. Both were present at the WWE Hall of Fame and WrestleMania this year, but are likely still some way off of being ready for a return to the squared circle.

Chelsea Green Reveals She Has Been Cleared For In-Ring Return

Former WWE star Chelsea Green has confirmed that she has been cleared for action which means she will be able to return to the ring once her non-compete clause with the company expires.

The former WWE star revealed the news on Twitter. She took on the Twitter account of her podcast Green With Envy and confirmed that she has officially been cleared to get back in the ring:

“Today is a good day! After 3 surgeries on my arm, I am officially cleared to get back in the ring.” wrote Green, “Oh, how I’ve missed wrestling!!!”

Chelsea Green first suffered a broken wrist while competing in NXT back in March 2019. It was the former Impact star’s first match for the Black and Yellow brand.

She unfortunately injured the wrist once again during her main roster debut on the SmackDown brand back in November 2020.

Green never wrestled for the promotion again after this. She was released from the company last month while she was still in rehabilitation but the former champion has now confirmed that she is good to go.

Her non-compete clause with WWE expires in mid-July. If reports are to be believed then we may see the former Knockout making a return to Impact wrestling once she is free of her contractual obligations.

Update On Chelsea Green’s Recovery Time Following Surgery

Chelsea Green hasn’t performed in a wrestling match since the November 13th, 2020 edition of WWE Smackdown. She broke her wrist in the match and would not be seen on WWE television again before being released last month. Green also had surgery recently to replace a plate in her arm from a previous injury.

According to a report from Fightful, Green is only expected to miss about 6 weeks following the surgery. This would mean she will likely be cleared for when her 90-day no-compete clause with WWE expires on July 15th, 2021.

Where will fans see Chelsea Green next?

There is a lot of ongoing speculation as to where Green could end up next. She is a former Knockouts champion and had a great run in Impact as “The Hot Mess” Laurel Van Ness. Her fiancé, Matt Cardona, is also currently in Impact as well. Cardona is in a feud with former tag partner, friend, and podcast co-host, Brian Myers. It was reported this week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there have been talks between Impact and Green about her returning to the promotion.

Green recently took part in an interview with Metro UK and listed Playboy, being killed in a horror movie, and becoming a social media influencer as all being on her radar currently.

“Definitely, I wanna be killed in a horror movie. I’ve always wanted that, I always found it so hilarious where you see the girl running and they always trip and fall, and then they get killed,” Green said.

“When one door closes, so many more open. Sometimes you can’t see what those doors are gonna be,” she continued.

Chelsea Green Reportedly In Talks For Impact Return

Recently released WWE star Chelsea Green is reportedly in talks with Impact Wrestling officials for a return to the company in near future.

Dave Meltzer talked about the future of the female star on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter and he reports that green has been in talks with Impact officials this past week.

Though while they have been in negotiation, Meltzer noted that an agreement has not yet been reached for Green’s return to Impact wrestling.

The former NXT star was signed by WWE after a tryout in August 2018. Before this, She also competed in the sixth season of Tough Enough finishing at fourth place for the females.

After a stint in NXT, Chelsea Green made her SmackDown debut in November last year. However, she broke her wrist in her debut match, causing original plans that saw her winning the bout to be changed.

After months of inactivity, the company finally made the decision to let the former champion go. She was released from her contract in April earlier this year.

Chelsea’s previous run with Impact wrestling started in 2016 which ended in Janaury 2018. She even won the knockouts title one time during her run.

The former WWE star has been released with a standard 90 days non-compete clause which means that she will only be able to join Impact after July 14, once an agreement is reached.

Chelsea Green Expresses Interest In Posing For Playboy

Chelsea Green has goals. The 30-year-old wrestler recently spoke to Metro UK and talked about what she would like to accomplish outside of a wrestling ring. One of the goals Green says she’s chasing, is building some contacts at Playboy.

“Right now, I’m trying to work at making contacts in Playboy to hopefully do that,” Green said during the interview.

Wrestlers posing for Playboy was a popular occurrence back in the 1990s and 2000s. Shawn Michaels actually got the ball rolling here in 1996 when he posed for Playgirl magazine while WWF Champion. Sable, Torrie Wilson, Maria Kanellis and others would continue the trend.

Green’s outside of wrestling goals also include being killed in a horror movie.

“Definitely, I wanna be killed in a horror movie. I’ve always wanted that, I always found it so hilarious where you see the girl running and they always trip and fall, and then they get killed.”

Green continued to say she’d like to be a social media influencer and continue with her podcasting as well. She didn’t drop any hints regarding where wrestling fans might see her in a ring next, however.

“When one door closes, so many more open. Sometimes you can’t see what those doors are gonna be,” she continued.

Listen to the latest episode of Chelsea Green’s 50 Shades of Green podcast:

Mickie James Talks Cancelled WWE Angle With Chelsea Green

Former WWE Superstar Mickie James appeared on this week’s episode of Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions. The former Women’s Champion and trailblazer discussed a number of subjects during her time on the podcast, including of course the ‘trashbag’ incident that saw her calling out WWE for their treatment of released talent.

When Mickie James was released just a few weeks ago, her belongings were sent back to her in a ‘trash bag,’ prompting James to write a message to WWE on social media. The anger from James meant that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would apologize publicly, and Vince McMahon called her directly.

Chelsea Green was also given the ‘trashbag’ treatment upon her release, although she was accidently sent Natalya’s gear, something Green addressed on her new podcast ’50 Shades of Green.’

Mickie James Talks Chelsea Green Feud

Mickie James revealed on Oral Sessions that her and Chelsea Green were actually set to have a feud on WWE programming, before WWE nixed this and the two were forced to try and make something work on social media.

“That would’ve been fun,” James said on the podcast. “We started actually doing that on Twitter after the fact. I really didn’t think it was going to happen at that point because they had already pulled it. Because we shot the stuff and everything for it and for whatever reason it just never got approved prior to us even going out there and having the match.”

“That was supposed to be my comeback or whatever” James recalled. “That was part of my comeback from my injury and stuff. I was like ‘oh this will actually be really cool. And it’s a cool way to flip the script, do it differently but then hopefully build Chelsea up and do something. And maybe she even retires me or whatever.’”

Maria Kanellis might be alluding to the fact that she holds “the pencil” in ROH’s women’s division at the moment with the below Tweet.

Green was also asked recently if she is interested in returning to Impact Wrestling. She spoke to Cultaholic and gave the below answer:

“Here’s what I’ll say, never say never because I had such a good relationship with them. Obviously, I was their women’s champion in 2018 – feels like it was yesterday – and I have a great relationship with everyone in that company,” Green stated. “So, I am excited to maybe pop in and out. Who knows?”

Green also spoke about ideas she pitched while in WWE during an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

“I can’t tell you how many ideas I came up with. If I think about it, they all led back to The Hot Mess. But with that being said, it wasn’t The Hot Mess like you saw at IMPACT. I tried to pitch a darker, creepier Hot Mess that you could relate to. Not just like the girl at the bar, more so any psychotic person you’ve had in your life.”

Chelsea Green Undergoes Surgery

Chelsea Green took to her Instagram account today to note that she recently underwent surgery to remove a plate from her arm.

She has suffered several breaks in the arm/wrist area throughout her career. Now that she is on the sidelines, she decided to get the plate taken out. She wrote the following in the caption:

“Post-surgery photo. The plate in my arm is out & I’m ready to get back to work!! It’s been a long 2 years of struggling with breaks, surgeries, hardware, and some complications but we’re finally at the finish line.”

SEScoops wishes Chelsea Green a full and speedy recovery.

Chelsea Green’s Road to Free Agency

Green made her main roster debut back on the November 13, 2020 edition of SmackDown when she competed in a Fatal Four-Way match. In the match, she suffered a wrist injury and had to get the surgery done. As a result, she was put on the shelf.

Green had been making progress towards an in-ring return since before the Royal Rumble in January and it was reported that she had been cleared to make a return.

Green was released by WWE last month and since that time has done various interviews to share the story about her time in the company.

She is under a 90-day non-compete, which is up on July 14th. She has stated that she’s open to going to Impact, ROH or AEW.

Chelsea Green Releases Statement Following Backlash

Former WWE NXT Superstar Chelsea Green recently saw some online backlash come her way. The now-independent performer had used an artist’s piece for promo online and when he asked for credit Green allegedly blocked the artist.

https://twitter.com/salsaboiii/status/1386877309689290754

Chelsea Green issued the following statement addressing the controversy:

“It’s super unfortunate how this has been handled,” she began. “I think artists deserve credit. Period. After reading some of the nasty tweets, I didn’t feel reposting the art was something that I should do as clearly the artists view of me had soured.”

“I support my artists, I pay my artists” Green noted. “I have been doing that since I started on the independent scene; because I myself was a starving artist & I know the struggle.”

“It’s really sad that an oversight on my part has lead to this” Green concluded. “But I wish the artist luck and I think it’s best that I stick to the artists who I have used in the past and who know the person I am.”

The artist himself confirmed that the situation had been resolved between he and Green.

Chelsea Green Announces “50 Shades of Green” Podcast

Chelsea Green has released the debut episode of her new podcast. The show is titled “50 Shades of Green with Hot Mess Chelsea Green.” The former Knockouts Champion had filed to trademark the term on April 21st.

A description for the show notes that it will not only be about wrestling:

“Lovers! 50 shades of Green is more than just wrestling. Join Chelsea Green every Monday as she talks about the insides of the business, her relationship, sex, fitness and current events. No topic is off limits.”

“Chelsea Green discusses her release, who she wants to wrestle first, in-ring mishaps, celebrity breakups, friendships from wrestling, & much more!”

Chelsea Green Comments On Her WWE Release

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Green opened up about her release from WWE.

“At first I was kind of emotionless and I guess confused. My way of handling that has always been to go into overdrive with what’s next?” Green said. “That’s always the way my brain has worked with everything. So even when I became the IMPACT Champion, literally that night, what’s next? What am I going to do next?”

The full interview with Green and Van Vliet is available in the player below:

Chelsea Green Comments On Her WWE Release

Chelsea Green was recently released by WWE as part of the cuts made last week. She recently took part in an interview with Chris Van Vliet and spoke about her reaction to being let go.

“At first I was kind of emotionless and I guess confused. My way of handling that has always been to go into overdrive with what’s next?” Green said. “That’s always the way my brain has worked with everything. So even when I became the IMPACT Champion, literally that night, what’s next? What am I going to do next?”

Green continued to talk about how her fiancé, Impact’s Matt Cardona, helped her that day.

“First of all, he warned me that this was coming. Not necessarily to me, that I was going to get fired. But he did call me and give me a 10-minute gap between the time he told me people are letting go and me getting let go. He gave me that warning then I texted him and said ‘OK, I’ve been released.’ I’m not joking he was home within 30 minutes. My Pro-Wrestling Tees store was up, he’s all go go go! Even harder than I was. I think that’s kind of the same way I felt when he was released.”

Chelsea Green: Hot Mess

Green also talked about characters and stories she pitched while with WWE. It does seem as though Green is interested in returning to her “Hot Mess” persona.

She continued, “It could be anyone. I was always working on ideas that led me turning into The Hot Mess. It’s what I love, I just want to do character work. I don’t need to wrestle. I’m totally cool with not wrestling, I want to tell a story.”

Chelsea Green Signs Contract Extension With WWE

Chelsea Green has signed a new deal with WWE. The extension is reportedly for 3 years, according to a report at Fightful. Her previous deal was set to run out sometime over the summer.

Green signed with WWE in the fall of 2018. She performed in NXT up until last May when she fired her then-manager, Robert Stone, in storyline. It was reported that she was to be called up to the main roster shortly but didn’t end up doing so until that November. She wrestled in a Survivor Series qualifying 4-way match on the November 13th, 2020 Smackdown and broke her wrist. It was later reported that Green had been scheduled to win the match but it was changed so that Liv Morgan picked up the victory. Green has been on the shelf ever since.

The 29-year-old is from Victoria, BC, Canada and trained at Lance Storm’s Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, AB, Canada. She had a run with Impact Wrestling from 2016-2018 as Laurel Van Ness. Her time in Impact included a reign as Knockouts Champion and also as a key player in one of the most famous wrestling weddings of all time.

Green actually made her WWE programming debut just months into her wrestling career. She was cast as Daniel Bryan’s physiotherapist in 2014. Her debut can be viewed in the player below:

Scrapped Storyline Plans For Chelsea Green & Mickie James Revealed

Chelsea Green has had an interesting year in wrestling. She left NXT in May and seemed destined for a main roster call-up but would not make her Smackdown debut until 6 months later. When she did finally debuted, she broke her wrist in her first match and is now on the sidelines with the injury.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Green and Mickie James were planned to be in an angle together this year. The angle would have been a “reboot” of the famous Mickie James and Trish Stratus angle that culminated in their match at WrestleMania 22. Only in this version of the angle, Chelsea Green would have played the role of the stalker and James would have been in the Trish Stratus role.

Green and James are even reported to have filmed content for the angle but it was scrapped just hours before it was to debut. Green would have been portrayed as an obsessed fan of James’.

Mickie James and Trish Stratus’ angle leading up to WrestleMania 22 was so well-received by fans, that James was actually cheered on the show despite being a clear heel at the time.

Highlights of the famous WrestleMania 22 match between Trish Stratus and Chelsea Green can be viewed in the player below:

Booker T Discusses Zelina Vega’s WWE Release, Chelsea Green Injury

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has shared his thoughts on Zelina Vega’s recent WWE release, noting how Vega is one of his “Fav 5” who had been on her way up in the company.

Booker T addressed her release during a recent episode of his podcast, The Hall of Fame. He shared how “She was coming up and one day she’s here, the next day she’s gone. Watching her on her Twitch Channel talk about it broke my heart watching her cry.”

Booker T shared how he’s sad to see her go as he thought she was incredibly talented. He believed Vega was the kind of Superstar that “really made a huge difference as far as the card.”

Booker T then expressed how other Superstars who used third-party social media like Vega will now have to “figure out how this thing is going to work” going forward.

“Guys, figure it out because at the end of the day, it’s a bigger picture,” Booker T said. “At the end of the day, you hope the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow or you have someone like Zelina who said I created that pot of gold for myself. I can appreciate that as well but I wanted to say above all, I’m going to miss her because she was talent.”

Booker T On Chelsea Green’s Injury

Booker T also discussed Chelsea Green’s recent wrist injury, which unfortunately occurred during her SmackDown debut.

He revealed how he talked to Green only a few weeks ago about how he was using her match against Charlotte Flair as a study match for his classes.

“I was showing a match with her against Charlotte Flair. It was a match she had in NXT. I was talking about how green Chelsea was and how experienced Charlotte was and the difference between the two of them and how they were working in that same match with each other,” Booker T explained. “You can see and notice the difference between the two. None of it was the big things they did. All of it was the small things. That’s what Chelsea needs to work on. “

Booker T admitted he didn’t see what caused Green’s injury. He added how he noticed how she was moving in the ring. According to him, she didn’t “really pay attention to where she was going before she started her trip. It seemed like she would get on a road and start going and then she would pull out the GPS and figure out on the road where she was. You can’t do that in this business.”

He then shared how he always says people need to learn how to “navigate” their way through a match. Booker T extrapolated this, saying that people needed to know where they were going before they got there, something he argued Chelsea Green didn’t do.

Chelsea Green Makes WWE SmackDown Debut

As expected, Chelsea Green is on the WWE main roster.

Fightful Select reported today that creative was told that Green was slated to debut “imminently.” The tentative plans call for her to be on the SmackDown brand as of this afternoon.

Fast forward to this week’s show, she competed in a Fatal Four-Way match to determine the final member of the Women’s Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Those involved in the bout were Natalya, Liv Morgan, and Tamina. The finish saw Morgan pin Tamina.

If you recall, Green was supposed to be called up from NXT to the main roster back in May to be placed on Monday Night RAW. However, once Paul Heyman was removed as the RAW Executive Director earlier this year, Green was put on the shelf. Vanessa Borne was also said to be in a similar position.

In fact, she hasn’t appeared on NXT television in several months. She had a brief run as a solo act after turning on Robert Stone, who had been serving as her manager.

Green did confirm back in September that she tested positive for COVID-19.

The 29-year-old wrestler is a graduate of Lance Storm’s Storm Wrestling Academy. Before joining WWE, she got over her “Hot Mess” Laurel Van Ness persona in Impact Wrestling. While with the promotion, she won the Knockouts Title.

Chelsea Green Confirms She Had COVID-19

Chelsea Green hasn’t wrestled since May. She fired Robert Stone as her manager and then seemed to disappear shortly after. While rumours had Green set for a main roster debut, it appears she has been sidelined with COVID-19.

Green posted to Facebook that she is feeling better after having dealt with a positive COVID-19 case. Screenshots of her post have been circulating online:

Chelsea Green in WWE

Green was signed to WWE in the summer of 2018. Previously, she is a former Knockouts Champion in Impact Wrestling. Wrestling as Laurel Van Ness, she defeated Rosemary in 2017 to win the vacant championship. She would drop the title 2 months later to Allie.

Green has had 4 singles matches on NXT programming this year. She holds a 3-1 record after exchanging wins with Kayden Carter over 2 matches and defeating Shotzi Blackheart and Xia Li.

On the May 27th edition of NXT, she teamed with Charlotte Flair and defeated Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley. After the match, Green opted to fire her manager, Robert Stone.

It is not clear if Green’s positive COVID-19 case is related to the recent outbreak at the Performance Center as she has been out of action for some time now.

Chelsea Green is no longer part of the Robert Stone brand. Green teamed with Charlotte Flair against Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley in victorious fashion last night. After the match, Green fired Robert Stone in a clip shot exclusively for social media.

“Every since signing with the Robert Stone brand, it’s worked, we’ve worked. After tonight, Chelsea Green is the hottest she’s ever been. That’s why, you’re fired,” Green said to Stone.

At first, Stone seemed to feel Green was joking but it dawned on him at the end of the video that she was being quite serious.

A recent segment on NXT also involved Aliyah attempting to convince Robert Stone she would be a good fit with his brand.

Chelsea Green Gone From The Robert Stone Brand

Green debuted in NXT on the January 29th episode. She surprisingly dropped the match to Kayden Carter but would avenge the loss on the February 19th edition of NXT.

Green then qualified for a #1 Contenders ladder match by defeating Shotzi Blackheart on the March 4th show. On April 29th, Green defeated Xia Li to bring her single’s record on the brand to 3-1. Her victory alongside Charlotte Flair last night was her 4th victory in NXT thus far.

Chelsea Green Comments On Recent WWE Releases

Chelsea Green is currently a part of the Robert Stone Brand on NXT programming. Green’s WWE career is just getting started but for many their time in the company came to an end earlier this month. Green was recently interviewed by WCSN and commented on the releases which included her partner, Zack Ryder and her friend, Deonna Purrazzo.

“This has been happening all over the world in every profession,” Green said. “It’s really, really unfortunate that two of the people who are closest to me in my life were released, but on the other hand, both of them are going to go on to do so much more, and I would feel terrible if that wasn’t the case, but that’s the case.”

Green continued to talk about how she is looking forward to seeing what both Ryder and Purrazzo do outside of WWE.

“Deonna has so much potential,” Green continued. “She was not used in the capacity she should have been used in. Matt has so much potential and has continued to prove that throughout his entire career. So, whatever Matt does, he’s fine.”

Green also noted during the interview that Lance Storm was a big influence on her career. She trained at the Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary. Storm shut the school down last year in order to work on the road with WWE as a producer. He was then one of the many producers who were either furloughed or released earlier this month.

“He really is like a dad to me, and to Peyton Royce, and to Rachael, and everyone who’s gone through his school,” Green said about Storm.

Green last competed in the #1 contenders ladder match for the NXT women’s championship. She almost won the match as well but a knee injury prevented her from climbing the ladder. Highlights of the match can be seen below:

Chelsea Green Says ‘Hot Mess’ Will Appear at NXT In Some Form

NXT Superstar Chelsea Green recently appeared on the NotSam Wrestling podcast. The former IMPACT Wrestling star joined WWE back in October 2018, competing at an NXT Live Event In Largo, Florida.

Chelsea Green’s former character Laurel Van Ness had become the ‘Hot Mess’ following an angle in 2017, where she was ‘left at the altar’ by Braxton Sutter. The character would prove to be Green’s most successful during her run at IMPACT. As Van Ness the former Knockout won the division’s Championship back in December of 2017, defeating Rosemary.

During the interview with Sam Roberts, Chelsea Green revealed that the ‘hot mess’ could make a return…of sorts. “The hot mess is your crazy ex girlfriend” Green began. “The hot mess is the girl that beats up every other girl in the locker room. And the hot mess is whatever you make of it. So you are going to see the hot mess again. It’ll just be in a completely different light.”

Chelsea Green also discussed her recent appearance in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble. “I’ve been at NXT working day in and day out at the Performance Center. Waiting for this opportunity so to finally be given. Honestly, it was about time. I have pushed and kind of shoved my way to the top throughout my entire career, and NXT is no different.”

Green also recently spoke to ComicBook.com about how she has ‘evolved’ during her time in NXT. “So, it’s been kind of a different sort of evolution this year, but I’m loving it and I’m still figuring it out. And maybe in a year, you can ask me the same question, and I’ll have a totally different response. You know?”
