Can Enzo Amore Learn From Chris Jericho?

It’s no secret that Enzo Amore has gained heat in – and out of – the ring over the past few months.  Some feel that the current Cruiserweight Champion doesn’t deserve his title, or that others are more deserving of it.  Whether you like the Certified G, the positive within all of this is that Enzo is getting people talking about 205 Live.

Unfortunately for WWE it appears that it was all too much for Neville who walked out on RAW and saw himself removed from the intro package to 205 Live.

In an interview on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, Chris Jericho discussed trash talkers in WWE, wrestling in Japan compared to the U.S., as well as his real life dislike of Triple H in 2002.

“Triple H. In 2002, we didn’t like each other. I think we were almost pitted against each other in a lot of ways. We had great chemistry, great matches…I just didn’t like him, he didn’t like me, and there was no falseness. Now I love him. Great guy.”

Catch the full Hot Ones interview here:

Y2J has never hidden his relationship with The Game from 2002 and has previously explained that the conflict came from Jericho’s time at WCW which saw him trash talk and slate the WWE roster to battle the Monday night war for ratings.  So when he moved to WWE, some of the locker room held a grudge towards him and his on-screen persona that was arrogant and cocky.

The main question is: does Enzo have the capability to follow Chris Jericho’s example and work through whatever heat he has?  Perhaps Y2J would be kind enough to offer Amore some words of advice? It really does seem as though Jericho (circa 2002) and Amore have a lot in common and it would be extremely smart to use this connection to their advantage.

Opinion:

The other way to think of it is: Enzo doesn’t need any help, he’s still in the company, he’s featured weekly on multiple shows, he’s still champion… he’s doing alright!  The main problem that Cruiserweight Champions have faced in the past is: where do they go after losing the title?  Most former champions have faded into the background.  Enzo needs to ensure that he bounces back to the main roster to secure a solid future for himself in WWE.

Chris Jericho Takes Another Shot At Kenny Omega On Twitter

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) Kenny Omega continue to take shots at one another on Twitter. Recently Omega responded to a fan and subtly took a Jab at Y2J for not having any six star matches. Jericho responded to this by admitting Omega has had some excellent matches – but it’s too bad nobody has seen any of them:

For those of you who don’t know, this all started when Jericho responded to a fan who claimed Kenny Omega was the best in the world:

Chris Jericho Criticises Kenny Omega, ‘The Cleaner’ Responds

Chris Jericho appears to be the latest WWE affiliated superstar taking shots at the Bullet Club…

Jericho responded to a tweet claiming that Kenny Omega was the best performer in the world and well…you can see his response below:

While Jericho’s tweet may have been in humour it certainly doesn’t appear to have been taken that way by New Japan’s IWGP US Champion. Following the recent issues between WWE and The Young Bucks as well as Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns it seems only likely that the bad blood between the two camps will not go away anytime soon.

Chris Jericho Comments On Jimmy Jacobs’ WWE Departure

Chris Jericho appeared on the Metal Injection Squared Circle Pit podcast this week to promote his new book, No Is A Four Letter Word.

Topics discussed include Jericho’s vision of how to be successful, the success of Fozzy’s ‘Judas’ album, his own podcast, his latest run in WWE (including the legendary Festival of Friendship), his “Rock and Wrestling” cruise scheduled for next year and more.

Last week, WWE producer Jimmy Jacobs left the company after posing with the Bullet Club during their recent invasion of RAW. Shortly after Jacobs’ exit, former WWE head writer Tom Casiello gave a glowing endorsement of Jacobs and revealed he was the creative mind behind Chris Jericho’s “The List” gimmick.

On the Squared Circle Pit podcast, Jericho spoke about working with Jimmy Jacobs in WWE. Jericho explains he wanted Jacobs working on every single on of his promos, but understands WWE was put in a bad position by his recent actions.

“Jimmy’s good and if I was there I would’ve tried to help him out, but it’s not the smartest of moves. If I work at McDonalds and post a picture of me hanging out with guys from Wendy’s and hashtag ‘Wendy’s is great’, McDonalds might not be too happy about it – so you can’t just say it’s the business.”

“I think Jimmy’s a smart guy and maybe wouldn’t surprise me if he knew something was going to happen. Maybe he was getting sick of it, I don’t know. I just know as soon as I saw that picture, I was just like ‘ooof,’ with the hashtag ’BCInvasion’ or ‘YBInvasion’ or whatever it was – you can’t do that, man. I mean, you can’t.”

Was it a fireable offense? Well, it’s not my decision, obviously Vince thought it was, which tells me there was probably some other stuff going on and that was the final straw.”

“And I will say this, last year, 2016… Jimmy Jacobs was my co-writer on all of it. All of it! And the weeks he wasn’t there I was like ‘Ah f***, I don’t like this, I want Jimmy here.’ So he’s very talented, and he really got me. I worked with him a few times and I went to [head writer] Dave Kapoor, ‘I want Scoville’, which is his real name, Chris Scoville, ‘on every Jericho promo. No one else.’ Because that’s how much I trusted his talent, his instincts.”

Chris Jericho Talks Neville and WWE Departure Rumors

WWE legend Chris Jericho recently appeared on Busted Open Radio and he weighed in on the current situation involving former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville and his alleged departure from the company.

When discussing the idea of Neville leaving to pursue outside opportunities Jericho had this to say: “It doesn’t surprise me because I think a guy like Neville, whenever I worked with him we had great matches,” He reminds me a lot, actually, of working with Chris Benoit in that he’s very hard-hitting, he’s very solid, very graceful and not stiff in the least, just a really innovative, smart worker. I think he wasn’t really getting his shot in the WWE, and the cruiserweight thing is fine but let’s be honest, it is what it is. I think there’s a lot higher potential for a guy like Neville in the ring and also the character.”

Jericho also compared Neville to some of the bigger stars on the independent scene currently; “If he left you know that he’s gonna be one of those guys like Cody Rhodes, guys like the Young Bucks and Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll that are making a choice not to be in WWE and proving that it’s not the be-all, end-all if you’re not there,” Jericho said. “Look at Tommy (Dreamer) with House Of Hardcore, very successful outside of the reigns of the WWE.”

Do you think that Neville should leave WWE? Where would you like him to appear next? Let us know in the comments.

Sin Cara On Issues With Chris Jericho, Reason WWE Superstars Dislike Enzo Amore, More

Sin Cara recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights:

Reason WWE Superstars dislike Enzo Amore:

“To be honest, I’m not sure, exactly, what is going on. Maybe they’re thinking he hasn’t gone through enough to have the successes he’s having, but who am I to judge? All I can say is about myself. The only thing I can say is I wish him the best. Hopefully, that helps his career and makes him better, not just with his promos, but his in-ring work, too.”

Rumors that he had issues with Chris Jericho earlier this year:

“Me and Jericho are good friends. He actually asked me if he could borrow one of my masks for that segment, and I said that it would be an honor. There is no heat between him and I. Nowadays, with social media, there are always a lot of rumors, but we are fine. That’s why I let him borrow my mask. If that wasn’t the case, I would have said no.”

Chris Jericho Talks Possible HOF Induction, The Rock Running for President

Chris Jericho recently spoke with the folks at Aesthetic Magazine Toronto to promote his new book, “No Is A Four-Letter Word.” Jericho spoke about the possibility of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day, who he’d want to induct him, who he travels with on the road and more.

Here are some highlights of what Jericho said about:

A WWE Hall of Fame Induction & Who He’d Want to Induct Him:

“I don’t think about stuff like that, like I said. If it happens, I probably wouldn’t show up. I don’t like these big pomp and circumstance things like retirement matches, and everybody kissing your ass telling you how great you are, because I know how great I am, so I don’t need people telling me that.

So, depending on what mood I’m in, I’ve always been the anti-star for that kind of thing anyways. But yeah, I’ll leave that to somebody else, but not me. I’ll show up, maybe, depends how I feel.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Teasing A Presidential Run:

“I say he should go for it. Maybe I’ll become the first Prime Minister and President, where I’ll run Canada and the States together since I’m a dual citizen. You never know, I could make it happen.”

His Favorite Superstars To Travel With:

“Usually I travel by myself, but in the past I had a great time with Gallows and Anderson.”

Chris Jericho Talks Retirement, Working With Vince McMahon & Younger Talent

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho recently appeared as a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ Ross Report podcast for an in-depth interview. Here are some of the highlights of what Jericho said about:

Vince McMahon producing stars:

“When you work for Vince McMahon, there is a work ethic that is instilled in you that is second to none. Anybody that comes through that system, if you have talent, you will work extra hard to make things happen. I am talking about everybody from Jesse Ventura becoming the Governor of Minnesota; Mick Foley becoming a New York Times Best Selling Author, The Rock, Batista, John Cena, you [JR], me, there is a work ethic that is instilled in us that has enabled it all to happen and that comes from working in the WWE.”

If he’s thinking about retiring from wrestling:

“No, I am not there. Never. The last run I had in 2016 with Kevin Owens and the Festival of Friendship and all that stuff, it was one of my favorite runs, one of my top two favorite runs.”

Working for Vince McMahon:

“I really love working for Vince McMahon. I have a really great relationship with him now, and have for the past 5-6 years; it’s actually really fun to see the creative side of Vince, to go in there and disagree and agree and not have to worry. Vince always tells me that he doesn’t care where he is, to come and talk to him. I feel that is a great position to be in.”

Working with younger talent at this stage of his career:

“A lot of the young guys that are coming through the system now, it reminds me of my guys; of the Dean [Malenko], Chris [Benoit], Rey [Mysterio], Eddie [Guerrero], those guys; all really good workers who only cared about the matches and not about the ego. A lot of them still need help with experiences that I have that others don’t have at this point.

“I enjoyed the Kevin Owens storyline so much. Once it ended, I knew that I needed to get away for a while because I knew there was nothing that can compare to that. It’s good to step away and step aside for a bit, but when the time comes I am sure I will be back, but until then I am so busy that you will be seeing me all the time anyways.”

Chris Jericho On Southpaw Regional Wrestling, His New Book & More

Chris Jericho was a guest on Ring Rust Radio recently to promote his new book, “No Is A Four Letter Word”. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On why now was a good time to write “No Is A For Letter Word”:

“It’s pretty philosophical, man. Like there is some kind of otherworldly design behind it. What happened was I’ve already written three autobiographies in the course of seven years. I love to write and I have lots to write about. A fourth autobiography at this stage in my life might be a little pretentious, like does the world really need another Jericho autobiography? I’m not exactly Jack Kerouac or whatever. So, I thought I would answer a question that gets asked quite often in how you did all these things you do. How did you make it in wrestling? How did you make it in music? How do you continue to do all these things?

So, I sat down I came up with 20 principles of things I learned over the years from celebrities, family members, people that I know, fictional characters, and put them all down. Twenty principles like I said, the David Bowie principle of always reinvent yourself; The Vince McMahon principle of work hard then work harder; the Steve Austin principle, always be a little bit of an asshole. All these little things that helped me get these goals accomplished that I wanted to accomplish.

It became almost like a motivational book or self-help book and it never really intended to be that way but that’s the kind of way it morphed. Now that it’s out, it’s really cool to see people’s reactions and how people are gaining a lot of advice from things that I’ve learned and applying it to their own life. It is a pretty cool feeling.”

How this book is different from his previous books:

“It’s a little bit different because it’s more of a self-help motivational thing, but it’s still filled with ridiculous stories and things about my life and what’s happened and fun stuff and all those sorts of things. It’s pretty much in the vein of the other books just more of a theme and focus behind it. A book is a book, it’s hard to write. It’s never easy to write a book and I write all my books by myself from cover to cover so it’s a lot of edits and rewrites, a lot of time spent.

I think for my second book I divided the amount of hours that I worked on the book by the amount of money I got for it and it came out to $2.14 an hour. It was hundreds of hours of work for a big chunk of change. You have to put the time in and it’s like anything else that’s worth it. Whether it’s writing a book or making an album or doing a podcast or putting together a wrestling match or whatever it may be; the more time spent on it, the better it’s going to be. You can’t do anything half-ass or its going to come off that way and I refuse to have anything I do not be 1000 percent completely all my effort put into it.”

Paul Stanley from the band KISS writing the foreword to the book:

“The whole book kind of started from this quote that Paul said in 1987 in a movie I saw where he said, “The only people that tell you can’t do something are the ones that have failed. I’m not going to tell you that you can’t do it because I did it. You can do it.” When he said you can do it, I really felt like he was looking right at me, Paul Stanley telling me you can do it. So, it’s kind of how I live my life and focus my career on wanting to be a wrestler and be in a rock ‘n roll band.

Well Paul Stanley said I could do it so I don’t care what anybody else thinks. So, the last few years we met through a cool set of circumstances and became pretty cool friends with Paul and now he is just a dude and a good friend of mine. So who better to do the forward of the book than the guy who basically kicked it all off with a cool thing he said 30 years ago that I’ll never forget? He probably doesn’t even remember saying it. I just called him up and asked him.

He said how long should it be and I said as long as you want it to be and he came back with a really cool original foreword. I happened to see Gene Simmons last week while we were on the same trail of book tours. You go to the same interview places and talk shows and that sort of thing and we crossed paths a couple of times.

He knew all about the Gene Simmons principle because nowadays you do something or say something and everyone is going to tweet you about it. He thought that was pretty cool and the Gene Simmons principle is always dress like a star. So little things like that you can learn and take with you for the rest your life.”

Playing Clint Bobski in Southpaw Regional Wrestling and the possibility of future episodes:

“It’s something I heard about a while back when they came up with the idea and asked if I wanted to be involved. I said yeah I want to be the backstage interviewer Clint Bobski. That’s the name that I used in college when I went to do creative communications, television classes, and radio classes. Whenever we were doing box sports casts or mock radio on sports, I was always Clint Bobski.

I love that name and I don’t know why. I used it again for Southpaw and it was a lot of fun because I used to watch wrestling like that. Stampede Wrestling and local wrestling in Winnipeg it was called the FWA. They were filmed in the exact same type of cheap gritty videotapes and the backstage announcers were over the top and cheesy.

They were playing backstage announcers saying things like, “Oh my goodness, look at what we have here! I have never seen such a thing!” It was a lot of fun to do and people were very confused early this summer when I came back for Smackdown for one night only and they thought that I was back. I wasn’t back. I was there because I was filming the second season of Southpaw Wrestling and asked if I could do a match and thought might as well while I am here.

I would love to see a few more but I don’t know if the series took off virally like they thought it would and I am not sure what the numbers are on that but it was a lot of fun while we did it and hopefully get to do more. I think a lot of times the initial one is always the best because it’s such a surprise and nobody really knows what they’re getting into. Where with the second one everybody wanted to get involved and some of the characters weren’t as strong.

I think Miz’s guy was terrible in it whatever he was called. I just thought it was terrible and it wasn’t funny. I thought the Butcher Boys weren’t funny. The first one was really funny because no one was really trying. They were just being whatever they wanted to be. It’s like a sequel to a movie where you stumble onto something and it’s never as good as the original. If they do more Clint Bobski will be there and if they don’t it was fun while it lasted.”

Young Bucks Selling Cease & Desist T-Shirt, Enzo As The Focus Of 205 Live

– With Enzo Amore now holding the Cruiserweight Championship, Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE appears to be transforming 205 Live from a wrestling oriented program into more of a showcase for Enzo. Viewership for 205 Live has been disappointing for the past several months and the feeling is that even though Enzo is a heel in storylines, he remains popular and sells a ton of merchandise.

– Mattel is relaxing a new “Epic Moments” action figure 2-pack spotlighting Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens’ memorable Festival of Friendship segment from earlier this year. The Jericho figure is sporting a big happy grin on his face, unaware of what’s about to transpire.

Chris Jericho joined The Kicker for an episode of “Jam Sesh” to promote his new book No Is A Four Letter Word. During the interview, Jericho stated that people cannot request to be placed on the list. Jericho performed a song about how it is not wise to ask to have your name added to the list.

Jericho noted that he never knew what catchphrase was going to connect with the crowd. He thought the phrase “razzle-dazzle” was going to be a hit, but it failed miserably the couple of times he tried using it. Jericho also said that he thought “get it? got it? good!” would catch on with the crowd but that didn’t work either.

Chris Jericho Reveals The ‘Crowning Jewel’ Of His WWE Career

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho recently made an appearance on The Other Guys Podcast with Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo to talk about his professional wrestling career. Jericho talked about his “Festival Of Friendship” segment with Kevin Owens, where he drew his inspiration from for the angle, and where he ranked it amongst the various other moments in his WWE career. Here are the highlights:

His Festival Of Friendship segment with Kevin Owens:

“I had that idea months earlier, to do a big spectacle with dancing girls and the whole thing, and then it was constantly being changed,” Jericho said. “Even the day of the show it was changed and I didn’t like it and I knew my way was better. I stood up for it, even to the point of calling Vince when he was on a plane in the middle of the air and pitching my case, not taking no for an answer, not allowing my vision to be changed.”

What inspired the segment:

“The ‘Red Wedding’ from Game Of Thrones was something that was really resonating, where you have this brilliant, beautiful and fun moment and then it just goes south in such a quick fashion where you can’t believe it,” Jericho said. “That, to me, was the brilliance of it.”

Where he’d rank the moment amongst the various others in his WWE career:

“It was definitely one of my favorite things that I’ve done, maybe even the crowning jewel of what I’ve done in all these years being in the WWE,” he said.

Chris Jericho Talks Possible WWE Return & What Needs To Happen To Make It Official

Former WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho’s latest WWE run has once again wrapped up, and WWE fans are left hoping we’ll get one more out of “Y2J” again. Jericho recently made an appearance on The Other Guys Podcast with Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo to talk about his WWE career. When asked about another possible run with WWE, Jericho did admit that it’s possible, but wouldn’t dwell over it if it never happened again:

“Will I be back? Maybe, possibly,” Jericho said. “If I never wrestled again it wouldn’t bother me.”

If he did return to WWE, Jericho doesn’t care who he’s working with inside the squared circle, as long as he is presented with a good storyline to get fans invested in the program:

“I don’t care about who is it I want to work with, for me it’s what’s the story behind it because I’ve worked with everybody,” Jericho said. “It’s about what’s the storyline that you can put behind these things to make people really care.”

“If I can think of a good story or if a good story is presented to me, then I’m all in, and I don’t care if it’s with John Cena or if it’s with Enzo Amore, whoever,” Jericho said. “If it’s a good storyline that I can sink my teeth into that I know people will love, just like the Festival of Friendship, then I’ll come back again. If not, then it might be a little harder to attract me.”

Chris Jericho Reveals WrestleMania Match He Had Pitched To Vince McMahon

During his recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho revealed an interesting WrestleMania match he had pitched to the Boss Vince McMahon involving the WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels which didn’t get approved.

According to Jericho, he had the idea for a match between him and the Former Wyatt Family Leader Bray Wyatt for WrestleMania XXX back in 2014. The match would have seen Michaels being in his corner for the match and the Wyatt Family on Bray’s.

However, this match wasn’t approved by Mr. McMahon because apparently, Chris read the room wrong while pitching the idea and it didn’t work out well for him:

“When I went to pitch it to Vince I read the room wrong and made some mistakes. Not only was there somebody else in the room, but he was also hungry and eating. It just led to this whole deck of cards falling, where had I pitched it under the rules of knowing my audience; I could’ve got it through.”

It’s worth mentioning here that during the same interview, Jericho also revealed that the finish of the US title match at Battleground was botched and WWE had to fix it two nights later on SmackDown Live.

After Chris Jericho’s idea wasn’t approved, Bray Wyatt faced John Cena in a one on one match during the PPV and Shawn Michaels ended up being a part of the pre show panel on the event.

Chris Jericho Says The Finish Of US Title Match At Battleground Was Botched

The United States Championship has changed hands several times in the last few weeks and the multiple title changes have been the subject of many rumors as of late.

It all started when AJ Styles beat Kevin Owens for the US title at a WWE Live Event from Madison Square Garden, though at that point everything looked fine.

The controversy began when Owens defeated Styles at the Battleground PPV and won the Championship back in the title rematch whose finish was noted to be very obscure.

The belt changed hands once again two nights later on SmackDown when AJ won triple threat match against Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, who had returned to WWE for one night.

Due to this back and forth with the title and the controversial finish of the Battleground match, many wondered if Kevin was really supposed to win at the PPV or they botched the finish.

During his recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Jericho cleared the air about the whole situation and he revealed that Owens was not scheduled to win the title at the PPV confirming that they screwed up the ending of their match:

“The idea was for me to work with AJ on Tuesday, and do nothing with Kevin. And then the match happened on the Sunday and they legitimately screwed it up, it happens sometimes – the finish didn’t work… whatever happened.”

Later Chris Jericho also noted that they changed the scheduled match between him and AJ Styles at SmackDown into a triple threat involving Kevin Owens so they could put the title back on the former WWE Champion.

Thankfully despite the botch, everything played out well in the end and due to the botch, we got to see a great Triple Threat match at SmackDown which otherwise was not in plans.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE’s first-ever Undisputed Champion commented on the possibility of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor appearing in a WWE ring one day. Jericho is convinced it will happen and says McGregor’s recent opponent Floyd Mayweather showed how it could work.

“Conor comes out of [his fight with Floyd Mayweather] looking like 100 million bucks, and Floyd retires 50-0. So will Conor McGregor end up in WWE? I think it’s a no-brainer. It might not be this year or the year after that because there’s a lot of money that you got to spend to get him in there, but a guy that yappy that knows the concept of cutting a wrestling promo — same with Floyd.”

Both Mayweather and McGregor have built their loyal audience of fans by utilizing pro wrestling tactics to hype up their fights. Jericho says it’s really up to Conor McGregor and added that he expects Ronda Rousey is int he same boat.

“That’s why Floyd did WWE, because he got a lot of his stuff from WWE ideas – so I think Conor will end up there. It’s just a matter of when he wants to. I also think Ronda Rousey will end up there one way or another as well.”

Chris Jericho Reveals Advice He Gave Neville About Working With Enzo Amore

Chris Jericho recently appeared as a guest on Busted Open Radio and said he thinks it was a good idea for WWE to move Enzo Amore to the Cruiserweight division and 205 Live.

“He’s one of those guys that personality-wise he’s very bulletproof because he’s so over-the-top and he’s got such a good rap,” said Jericho. “But where else is he gonna go in the headlining position, in the heavyweight division on RAW? I think it was a great move because I don’t know what else you would do with him if you didn’t stick him in there unless he was just gonna be a manager or a commentator.”

The former Undisputed Champion explaining why he thinks WWE was smart to bring Enzo to 205 Live. Jericho thinks Enzo is a perfect fit for the Cruiserweight division and the show will benefit because he will bring more viewers to the show.

“He fits that vibe size-wise and more importantly he’s gonna bring eyeballs and attention,” said Jericho. “And people will actually pay attention to the matches that he’s in.”

Jericho also revealed some advice he gave to Cruiserweight Champion Neville, who might get the chance to work with Enzo Amore in the near future.

“I told Neville this months ago, I said, ‘There’s gonna come a time when you’re gonna have to make him look good, that’s the job of guys like you and me. It doesn’t matter if he’s good. That’s not his responsibility, that’s yours now,’” Jericho said. “Neville’s gonna have to do anything he can to make that match work the same way that all the great workers in time do that.”

Chris Jericho Reveals How He Got Styles Clash Unbanned From WWE

It’s a known fact that WWE has banned several moves they consider ‘too dangerous’ for their programming and when AJ Styles first came to the company many believed that his Styles Clash would result in WWE Superstars being injured.

It was reported that Vince McMahon found out about a botched Styles Clash which broke Yoshi Tatsu’s neck and he was said to be concerned about it being used on WWE Programming.

At one point Styles didn’t use the move for long which started rumors that WWE has banned it and AJ himself had to clear that it wasn’t the case. Now it appears Chris Jericho played a part in getting the move ‘unbanned’ from the company.

During his recent appearance on 107.7 The Bone with Baby Huey & Bimbo Jimbo, Jericho talked about the time AJ first came to WWE and revealed that Styles Clash was unofficially banned because of rumors of people getting hurt about it:

“He had this finishing move called the Styles Clash which was kind of unofficially banned in the WWE because there was rumors that people had gotten hurt from it and all that sort of thing, but I knew it was a great move.”

Continuing on the topic Chris said that he let Styles use the move in their matches and eventually he reached Mr. McMahon and told the boss that AJ should use that move to which he replied positively, ending the unspoken ban:

“Eventually I went to Vince and said “Did you see that move that AJ Did?” Never using the words the Styles Clash because I knew…that name is taboo.  So, I said you know that move where he picks me up and dumps me on my face?…He should use that as a finish!” [and McMahon said] ‘Yes, absolutely use it as a finish’.”

Apart from this Chris Jericho also talked about his recent WWE run and more.
