Reason For Gunn Club’s Absence From AEW TV

The duo of Austin and Colten Gunn have not been seen on AEW TV in the last few months and reports suggest there is good reason for it.

The brothers, collectively known as Gunn Club last wrestled together during the September 14 episode of AEW Collision where they teamed up with Juice Robinson.

Hangman Page took credit for taking out Austin Gunn during the October 23 episode of Dynamite. He was confronted by the rest of the Bang Bang Gang including Colten in the segment but the second generation star has not been seen on TV since then.

Fightful Select is now reporting that multiple people on AEW roster have confirmed that Austin Gunn has actually been sidelined with an injury. Colten has been kept off TV because of his brother’s status.

The duo also provided a brief update on their status during a recent Highspots Virtual Signing. Austin claimed that the former AEW tag champions will be ‘back soon.’ He also asked fans to continue supporting the company during their absence.

Austin is not the only Bang Bang Gang member who is sidelined with an injury. Juice Robinson was recently replaced in the ongoing Continental Classic tournament after suffering a leg injury.

Jay White is the only member of the faction that is currently active on the roster. He is scheduled to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at the Worlds End PPV in a fatal four-way match.

AEW Breakup: Stable Surprisingly Splits During Big Business Dynamite

AEW has a few stables going, but they don’t have as many as they used to. Now, after their Big Business Dynamite, it is apparent that they have one less faction on their roster, but the war is not over.

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang joined up as Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, and Billy Gunn joined Bullet Club Gold. Now, they are no longer together after Jay White betrayed the former AEW Trios Champions.

Bang Bang Scissor Gang Breakup

AEW recently disbanded the Bang Bang Scissor Gang, a stable that hadn’t been around for long, to set up a feud between its former members. The dissolution of the group was evident on the March 13 episode of AEW Dynamite when Jay White won a singles match against Darby Allin.

Following the match, White attempted to inflict more damage on Allin, prompting The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to rush to the ring to intervene. This did not set too well with Switchblade.

Initially, White appeared to back off, allowing Caster and Bowens to assist Allin out of the ring. However, when Caster and Bowens left the ring, White suddenly attacked Billy Gunn with a chair, surprising the Boston fans in a big way.

Despite Caster and Bowens’ attempts to intervene, they were overpowered by Colten and Austin Gunn. This caused a beatdown for the babyfaces.

What’s Next

The dramatic turn of events marked the end of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang’s run. The trio had joined forces on the January 20 episode of Collision. Currently, The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn still hold the AEW World Trios Championship, while Jay White & The Gunns retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team titles.

SEScoops will have more on this story as additional updates are made available. Odds are, fans have not heard the last of this story at all. The Acclaimed will not likely go after the Bullet Club Gold stable to turned on them.

Colten Gunn Claims AEW Talent Stay Up Late with Tony Khan for Pay-Per-View Spots

Some AEW wrestlers may be getting a little too friendly with management if a recent tweet from Colten Gunn is to be believed.

Gunn made his debut for All Elite Wrestling in June 2020, accompanying his father Billy Gunn but would not wrestle until the November 11, 2020, edition of AEW Dynamite.

In August of this year, Colten and his brother Austin turned on their Hall of Fame Father and are now part of The Firm.

Schmoozing

Despite being members of the AEW roster for over two years now, the Gunn Club are yet to hold tag-team gold.

When Austin Gunn took to Twitter to claim Jungle Boy Jack Perry wants to be a Gunn, the former AEW World Tag Champion fired back, saying he prefers being booked on Pay-Per-View.

This got a response from Colten, who argued that he and Austin would also get better bookings if they were up until 6 AM with AEW’s EVPs the Young Bucks.

While Colten did not directly state that Jungle Boy is someone who is schmoozing with the higher-ups, it is certainly the impression he gave.

Jungle Boy competed at AEW’s most recent Full Gear Pay-Per-View, defeating his former tag team partner Luchasaurus in a Steel Cage match.

Jungle Boy

Joining AEW right at the beginning in 2019, it wouldn’t be until January 2020 that Jungle Boy would obtain his first win in the company.

Winning the AEW World Tag Titles in January of this year, Jurassic Express would lose the titles at June’s AEW Dynamite: Road Rager special and Christian Cage would turn on Jungle Boy.

Cage would recruit Luchasaurus in their feud, and the former WWE World Champion defeated Perry in seconds at September’s All Out Pay-Per-View.
