  • Details On Fast-Count At Night Of Champions, Damien Sandow Teases Cashing In

-According to reports, the announce team at WWE Night Of Champions were told not to acknowledge the fast-count by senior official Scott Armstrong at the finish of the Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan WWE Championship match. Apparently the fast-count will lead to an angle of some sort on WWE RAW tonight.

-With the aforementioned Orton/Bryan main event last night ending with ten minutes left to spare in the pay-per-view window, many felt Damien Sandow was going to come out and cash-in his Money In The Bank briefcase. Sandow fueled a lot of that speculation with the following tweet, which he posted on Sunday:

“I wonder how much longer I will be the uncrowned champion? Monnths? Weeks? Hours? Min? #WWENOC”

  • Detailed Post-RAW Notes: Another Fan Incident, Punk/Heyman/Axel Battle

SESCOOPS.COM reader Derek Gash sent along the following post-show notes from Monday’s WWE RAW in Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

The crowd was chanting “Thank You Savage” during matches as there was a fan dressed as Savage and looked just like him. The crowd kept getting live whenever he stood up.

Edge got the pop of the night being here in his hometown, followed by Santino Marella and Goldust,

During the commercial break after the RVD match, “The Macho Man” fan was spoken to by WWE staff. I’m not sure what they said to him but he toned it down from that point on. This seems like the fan incident last week on RAW where WWE staff came out and told fans dressed as Hogan, Piper, etc. to tone it down. The crowd had been distracted since the match between ADR and R-Truth due to the fan.

Damien Sandow had repeated a part of his promo that he did during the commercial break when the cameras returned live. It was the same stuff that he had already while during the break

After RAW went off the air, Curtis Axl and Paul Heyman came out. As they hit the ring, Punk’s music hit he came out with the kendo stick and hit Heyman a couple times. Heyman took off back up the stage and a match started between Axel and Punk. Punk landed a GTS on Axl and won via pinfall. Punk then proceeded to hit him with the chair and then celebrated with the Toronto crowd sending everyone happy.

  • Damien Sandow On Randy Orton Fan Attack, If It Was A Work, Life On The Road

South African website “Tonight” recently caught up with the current owner of the World Heavyweight Championship “Money In The Bank” briefcase, Damien Sandow, to discuss the already infamous Randy Orton fan attack during the recent WWE live event in Cape Town, as well as life on the road as a WWE Superstar.

Below are highlights from the article:

On the Randy Orton fan attack at the WWE live event in Cape Town: “Yes, it happened that a fan got too excited and decided to join in the fun. It was unfortunate, but that is behind us now.”

On whether or not the fan attack was a work, and the chances of the attacker appearing on future WWE programming as an actual character in the company: “It is possible, but I can’t confirm that. I didn’t know anything about it beforehand so I am totally in the dark. However, it is now at a stage where WWE as a company has to handle the legal aspects that come with such situations. All I know is this is just going to tighten our security from this point onwards.”

On life on the road as a WWE Superstar: “We are on the road for about two-and-a-half weeks or so and wherever we land we find the closest gym, workout, eat right, rest, then perform. It is like that constantly as time is not abundant. When we get some down time we fly to our respective homes and spend time with our families.”

    – On Friday’s SmackDown broadcast (taped Wednesday in Corpus Christi, Texas), Rob Van Dam lost in under a minute to Alberto Del Rio after the ECW Original was distracted by the match official, leading the World Heavyweight Champion to strike him with brutal kick to the face. The reason for the match outcome was because Del Rio had broken a rib or ribs the night before in a match against Sheamus and was therefore unable to properly compete.

    – WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley was quite impressed with Bray Wyatt and Damien Sandow’s performances on Friday’s SmackDown broadcast.

“OK, good night for real this time. By the way, @WWEBrayWyatt is my new hero…with all due respect to @RRWWE. -As previously reported, Chris Jericho finished up his current run with WWE at the latest SmackDown taping. Jericho will now go back on tour with his rock band Fozzy. According to one source, Jericho will be gone from WWE for at least several months, and his return may come as another WrestleMania XXX surprise.

-At one point, the plan was for Daniel Bryan vs. Curtis Axel to take place at SummerSlam. Instead, the two will likely compete in an upcoming RAW or SmackDown match in the next few weeks.

  • Antonio Cesaro Labeled “Boring” By Officials, Y2J’s Dance Rehearsal With Edyta Sliwinska, More

[cesaroshirt]- After holding the United States Championship for 240 days through last month when he was upended by Kofi Kingston, Antonio Cesaro’s standing in WWE has been greatly curtailed as the Swiss grappler has lost the majority of his televised matches. For those wondering whether his demotion is as a result of “heat” backstage, it is not. Rather, top WWE officials simply feel he lacks personality.

While addressing Cesaro’s current placement in WWE, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio Monday night that company brass believe that the former Ring of Honor standout is “boring,” resulting in his slide down the card. Some in WWE, however, are not in favor of the demotion, and believe Cesaro should be a headliner.

While Cesaro engaged in a match with Kingston two weeks on WWE Main Event that was well-received by management, it failed to alter his standing in the organization. Meltzer noted, “They don’t see him any higher than they did two weeks ago. There was lip service paid there for a week or two, but it’s over now.”

  • Jim Ross Blog: Roberts & Hall Helping Young Talent, 2014 WWE Hall of Fame & More

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

2014 WWE Hall of Fame: My only take on the 2014 WWE HOF, that will take place in New Orleans, is that it should not, in my personal opinion, have more than two posthumous inductees. One would be ideal for me but two is my personal, limit.

Damien Sandow: Very impressed with the recent work of @DamienSandow. he’s really evolving on the mic and his aggression inside the ring when timely is noticeable. Another driven talent who re-invented himself in NXT after a somewhat inauspicious tenure in with another persona.

Jake Roberts & Scott Hall Helping With NXT: Was asked if I thought that if either @SCOTTHALLNWO or @jakesnakeDDT could help WWE and especially the NXT brand down the road and my answer is absolutely. Both have brilliant minds and amazing stories to share with the youngsters. However, I’d prefer them to climb one mountain at a time and get completely clean and sober for an extended time before taking on more daily responsibilities like working with NXT if they are even interested in that line of work. I’m pulling for both guys and think of them daily on their “road back.” God Bless @DDPYoga for the work that he’s doing.

RAW’s Announcing Team: Happy that @MichaelCole has added @JCLayfield to the RAW broadcast team along with mainstay @JerryLawler but I wish that JBL and the King would engage each other with a little more debate in a timely fashion. I can envision the ‘tense moments’ that could occur between the talkative Texan and one of the greatest talkers ever in the biz to be great assets to an already talented trio. BTW…check out the @LayfieldReport.

  • Damien Sandow Talks About His Old School Character, Rhodes Schollars, The World Heavyweight Title

WWE superstar Damien Sandow was recently interviewed by Mike Mooneyham of PostandCourier.com to promote WWE’s upcoming SmackDown taping from South Carolina’s North Charleston Coliseum on December 4.

Why His “Character” Is Getting Over So Well “I believe the reason this (the character) is working is because it’s actually not a character. It’s pretty much my own personality. It’s my views on society, but now I have the opportunity to share them with the world via the platform of WWE.”

His Character Being Old School: “I believe the intellectual thing will draw some comparisons, but when you really look at them, they’re really two very different things. There’s a cartwheel which was done by him as opposed to the Rotation of Illumination that I do. He would speak in rhyme whereas every time I speak I am trying to better society as a whole and trying to make my message heard by all the people so that they can enrich their own lives. So with me there’s a lot at stake. By that I mean the survival of us as a people.”

Team Rhodes Schollars: “Cody and I were two people with a common goal. The crassness of Kane and Daniel Bryan needed to be stopped. Cody is the only person who is intellectually compatible with me. I think that it’s a very good pairing, and we shall continue .. I know Cody was recently struck down by Kane, but rest assured he’s recovering nicely, and Team Rhodes Scholars shall press on,”

The World Heavyweight Champion: “The world title would be good because then I can champion the cause of the world,” says Sandow, once again morphing into his WWE character. “It’s something I’m already doing. I’m championing the cause of the enlightenment of the world. The world heavyweight title would simply be a token of my status and a token of my mission which is to better us as a planet.”
