Former WWE Superstar Bob Holly appeared on The Shoot radio showyesterday for nearly one hour to talk about a variety of topics. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
Why Dolph Ziggler Should Be WWE World Heavyweight Champion:
“I love this guy. He is the best talent. He has everything it takes to be number one. They (WWE) sit there and their always preaching that you gotta have the heart, desire, & will. You gotta work your butt off and on and on and it’s like Sheamus was the world champion within six months. How did he deserve to be world champion? Don’t insult the fans intelligence by telling them it takes this this this and this to make it to the top when it doesn’t. It’s Hunter’s choice or whoever is at the round table. It’s their choice, but Dolph Ziggler does sells tickets. How many times does Dolph Ziggler have to step it up and say hey look at me? Every time he’s stepping in the ring he’s saying look at me look what i can do. That guy steals the show every single night at house shows, i will guarantee it.”
The WWE Hall of Fame:
“They try to make that Hall of Fame legitimate. But if you notice, to me it’s politically driven. A dead giveaway is Hunter wanting all of his little buddies, his little circle first. He’s taken care of all them. But the thing is, how can you put Lita in the Hall of Fame? Not saying she doesn’t deserve to be there, but how can you put her in there before Chyna? Chyna is the first and only female Intercontinental champion and that’s what drives me nuts because their trying to make this a legitimate hall of fame and it’s obvious they pick and choose who they want in there. If this was pro football or basketball or anything else, Chyna would be in there.” The host then mentioned her not being selected is likely due to her Adult movie roles and publicized issues with drugs and alcohol to which Bob replied “You look at all the guys who had drug and alcohol problems and they get inducted, come on. She’s done porn so what, who cares. The thing is, she gave a lot to the business and she was a big deal. I’m not defending anybody as to what they choose outside of the wrestling world, but what she gave to the wrestling world was really big.”
Daniel Bryan:
“I’m glad he won the title. He’s another one who worked his tail off and he deserves it. I don’t care about his size. Some people do but it shouldn’t be that way. Wrestling isn’t real, so why should it matter? I think he deserves to be world champion, despite his ups and downs trying to get there. I’m sorry to hear his dad passed away. With the neck surgery though, he needs to stop doing the missile dropkick. Every time i saw him doing that i was like that has got to hurt his neck because it whiplashes your neck. That’s another one he needs to stop doing in addition to the headbutt. My advice to him is enjoy the ride. If they strip the title from him and he never gets to the point where he gets it back, he had it, he made it, enjoy the ride from here on out. He’s still making good money. His merchandise sales are through the roof. Just enjoy the ride, have a good career with WWE and don’t do those 2 moves.”

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, who just underwent a neck operation on Thursday, is scheduled to appear in some fashion on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, which will be a taped show in London, England.
As of right now, while still unofficial, the talk in the company is that Bryan will appear on the show in the form of a pre-taped interview segment, as opposed to flying to London so soon after surgery.
There has been a lot of discussion behind-the-scenes in WWE regarding the two-to-three months that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan may be on the shelf due to his recent neck operation.
The general consensus appears to be that WWE looks at the two-to-three month window as a best-case scenario. In all actuality, it could be much longer before Bryan is able to physically return to the ring.
As previously reported, WWE has revealed that they will be making a “big announcement” regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Monday’s edition of RAW, which will be a taped show from London, England.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, who as previously reported underwent a neck operation on Thursday, finally issued his first public comments since his surgery.
Bryan tweeted the following on Saturday evening:
Thank you to all the people who have wished me well during my surgery. You give me strength and you are my motivation to get back ASAP.
The following are highlights of a recent website Q&A update by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:
On wrestlers winning with signature finishers and lack of excitement from announcers: “Not sure what the issue could be regarding the signature finishing moves. It’s important to establish them. I’d assume WWE announcers do exactly as they’re produced.”
On Sean Morley saying in a shoot interview with Michael Cole said he thinks he’s better than JR: “I think that you’re looking for dirt and that I don’t have an interest in participating. I did not see nor and likely won’t see any ‘shoot’ interviews. Why wouldn’t Cole have confidence in his work? Thanks.”
On the worst match he’s ever seen: “I’m sure that there were plenty but nothing comes to mind and if it did I wouldn’t want to throw talents under the bus.”
On if he thought The New Age Outlaws would be a success at first: “Well…they always had great chemistry and complimented each other well. Thought they evolved into a helluva team.”
On Daniel Bryan’s neck injury and if WWE let him perform injured: “Long, drawn out question… I’m guessing that neither WWE OR Daniel Bryan knew the severity of his neck injury during the timeline that you speculate. It was a nerve matter as I understand it so it likely did not come to a head until recently. WWE would not have allowed DB to perform with a bad neck. Predicting one’s future injuries isn’t realistic.”

– Following Friday’s edition of WWE SmackDown, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in a “Last Man Standing” match has been confirmed for the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view, which takes place on Sunday, June 1st.
– Speaking of SmackDown, here is this week’s edition of “SmackDown Fallout,” which features Batista.
– Finally, in one last SmackDown-related note, here is the video package that aired on Friday’s show to update fans on the condition of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan.
Since revealing the condition of his neck at RAW last Monday night, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not Bryan would be stripped of his title.
It was announced on Friday’s edition of WWE SmackDown that Daniel Bryan will in fact attend Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, which will be a taped show from the O2 Arena in London, England.
As we have noted recently, WWE revealed that they will address the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation on RAW this Monday, and now we know that Bryan will be on hand to take part in the show as well.
Daniel Bryan underwent successful surgery (a ‘cervical foraminotomy’)on Thursday to decompress a nerve root in his neck. Here is WWE’s official statement:
“After being diagnosed with the nerve issue in his neck by WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, Bryan underwent a procedure known as a cervical foraminotomy to decompress the nerve root. The surgery was performed by world-renowned neurosurgeon and sports medicine expert Dr. Joseph Maroon. WWE.com was not able to get an official timetable for Daniel Bryan’s return, but can confirm that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is out of surgery and doing well, with strength already returning to his hands.”
Typical recovery time for this procedure is 2-3 months.
The undercard singles titles are all chilling across the pond these days, as Bad News Barrett, Sheamus, and Paige all won championships in recent weeks. New champions are a welcome sight in the WWE these days, especially considering how stale the previous champions’ runs had become.
Dean Ambrose’s reign as United States Champion will likely be the forgotten reign in years to come. He held the title for almost a year while only defending it a few times before finally dropping it to Sheamus during a battle royal a few weeks back.
The same holds true for Big E and the Intercontinental Championship. Although he did not hold the title as long as Ambrose held his US Championship, his reign was unmemorable and he engaged in no meaningful feuds during his months with the title. As for AJ Lee, her run with the title seemed fresh at first, but she eventually ran out of challengers and it seemed like the right time to crown a new champion.
Ambrose held the title for almost a year and hardly ever defended it.
With recent undercard title reigns being unmemorable, it leads one to wonder if unification is the answer. One of the primary reasons the titles go undefended is because it is difficult to have too many stories going at once, especially meaningful ones that involve championship contests. This leads to champions holding insignificant titles like the US Championship as a way to legitimize or build up the character, but in reality, the title does little because it goes undefended.
One of the best options would perhaps be to unify the United States and Intercontinental Championships. By unifying the titles into just the Intercontinental Championship, it could make the title seem important again. In the Attitude Era, the title held importance, with fans knowing that most superstars who held the strap were on their way to the main event.
That is not the case anymore, however, as the title is thrown on random superstars in an attempt to build interest, but then creative puts in no further effort. It is a little sad that the most interesting thing to happen involving the Intercontinental Championship in recent months was a tournament to crown a number one contender that did not even involve the champion at all (except for a few clips showing him standing in the back, angrily looking at a monitor).
– NXT stars Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville are on the current WWE European tour. Neville defeated Dallas at the live event last night in Glasgow, Scotland.
– Triple H and Stephanie McMahon arrived in Rome early on Wednesday to do some sight-seeing before the WWE tour kicked off with the live event in Glasgow.
– With Daniel Bryan off of the European tour, the new main event was scheduled to be Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns in some markets and Big Show vs. Kane in a “Last Man Standing” in others. With Reigns suffering an injury last night against Orton, it’s unknown whether or not those matches will continue as planned.
The latest edition of Michael Cole’s sit-down interview series, which again features Triple H, has been added to the official YouTube channel of WWE.
In the latest installment, the WWE COO discusses the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation with Daniel Bryan needing surgery, Kane’s recent attacks and the upcoming definitive confrontation between The Shield and Evolution at the WWE Payback pay-per-view on June 1st.
Hunter said “it remains to be seen” if The Authority swill vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but we’ll have a “definitive answer” on RAW, after Bryan’s neck surgery. He then knocked Bryan for not being an “A-Plus Player” and questioned if these are “the kind of rigors that a little B-Plus Player like Daniel Bryan can withstand.”
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has commented on reports that WWE wanted him to come out of retirement for a match against his former student, Daniel Bryan.
The speculation began after last October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view when Michaels, who was serving as the guest referee in Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship match against Randy Orton, cost Bryan the title. According to HBK, there were no plans for him t get back in the ring.
On Jim Ross’ Ross Report podcast, Michaels said the topic would come up regularly whenever he would attend WWE shows, but not from high-ranking WWE officials. In the nearly 5 years since he officially retired, at no point has he given WWE any indication that he would wrestle again. Shawn added that proposed the angle on RAW where Daniel Bryan put him the Yes Lock to get revenge.
Part 2 of Shawn Michaels’ appearance on Jim Ross’ Ross Report podcast is now online and can be heard at PodcastOne.com.
– The dark main event that took place after last Tuesday night’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Greensboro saw John Cena and The Usos defeat The Wyatt Family. It was a very quick match, will John Cena and The Usos hitting their finishing moves on the Wyatt Family and all three men pinning Luke Harper.
– While the severity of Daniel Bryan’s neck injury is being downplayed backstage, some people are really concerned about what the doctors will see when Bryan goes in for surgery on Thursday morning.
As previously reported, WWE will make a “major announcement” on RAW regarding the future of Bryan’s WWE World Heavyweight championship.
It was revealed on Tuesday night’s episode of WWE Main Event that The Authority will make a major announcement on next week’s RAW regarding the future of the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
With Daniel Bryan undergoing neck surgery on Thursday, there have been a lot of questions about how WWE will handle the situation. Possible scenarios include:
Vacating the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Crowning an “Interim” Champion
Allowing Bryan to keep the title and elevate the Intercontinental championship in his absence
Monday’s RAW will be taped on Monday afternoon from London, England – and we’ll have Live Coverage of the tapings here at SEScoops.com.
– The latest edition of Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, which features an interview with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, is now available. The official description for the show reads as follows:
TIJ – EP38 – WWE World Heavyweight Champ Daniel Bryan
“WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has plenty to say about winning the belt, personality tests, the artform of the 3-minute match, the nerd culture in wrestling, Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, and the short-lived Buddy Peacock.”
– The following is a new video from the official WWE YouTube channel called, “‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins’ 7 coolest designs,” which looks at Rollins’ coolest moves.
The Yes! Movement received the worst possible news this week on Raw, as their unlikely hero announced that he will require neck surgery this Thursday and will be out of action for an indefinite amount of time.
Early reports indicate that Bryan has a broken neck and will be out for at least one to two months, with his possible returning coming at SummerSlam. This is terrible news for Bryan, who after a long journey finally captured the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
It appears that he also will not be appearing on television in any capacity for at least a few weeks, as the attack later in the show by Kane was likely a way to write Bryan off of television while he recovers from surgery at home. This leads one to wonder about the future of the WWE Championship, and also if Bryan can maintain momentum while missing at least a month of time.
After finally overcoming the Authority at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan will miss significant time due to injury.
As of now, it is being reported that Bryan will not be stripped of the title. This could of course change at any moment, especially if the product becomes stale during his absence. If Bryan ends up missing the maximum amount of time, that seems like a very long time to go with essentially no champion.
In my opinion, if it is determined that Bryan will miss any more than one month, the Authority should strip him of the title. This could serve a few purposes. First, it would keep momentum strong by having the Authority still trying to hold Bryan down, especially with Stephanie McMahon being the storyline reason Bryan was injured in the first place after unleashing the demon Kane.
Second, it could allow for someone else to receive a push in Bryan’s absence. Imagine if a tournament were held for the WWE Championship similar to the one just held for an Intercontinental Title match. It could allow for a fresh face to hold the championship for a while and create interesting television over the next few weeks by having qualifying matches on Raw, with the championship match being held at Money in the Bank.
As we exclusively reported at SESCOOPS.COM on Monday, Daniel Bryan will be undergoing surgery to repair a broken neck this coming Thursday.
Word coming out of RAW on Monday night is that Bryan will be out of action for six-to-eight weeks, with a potential return likely at Money In The Bank, or possibly SummerSlam, depending on how his recovery process goes.
With the six-to-eight week time frame, WWE is looking at keeping the title on Bryan. If the surgery and recovery process changes after he has the operation on Thursday, there is a possibility that WWE will strip him of the title.
It’s being said that at this point, plans are up in the air regarding Bryan and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. We should know more regarding the situation after he has the neck operation on Thursday.
– In light of Daniel Bryan undergoing neck surgery on Thursday, former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler has volunteered to step up and assume a more prominent role in WWE:
Hey @WWE if you need someone to step up for the next few weeks, Im already here doing it. Wouldnt even have to outsource
WWE World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan will be taking several weeks off due to a neck injury.
Bryan will undergo a minimally-invasive procedure. If it goes well, he could be back in time for the June 1st WWE Payback pay-per-view in Chicago. Otherwise, he’ll be back by Money in the Bank.
A source who was backstage at RAW says he’s been very quiet all day – and there were several rewrites to the show as a result of the injury.
Update: As we saw on Monday’s RAW, Daniel Bryan confirmed our report and announced he’ll be undergoing neck surgery on Thursday.
– The following stars are scheduled to miss this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown, as they will be leaving for the company’s tour of Europe immediately after Monday’s RAW: Daniel Bryan, Kane, Randy Orton, The Shield and Big E.
Names that are scheduled for SmackDown this week include John Cena, The Wyatt Family, Sheamus, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show and Alberto Del Rio.
– WWE recently added the following talents to the official NXT roster page on WWE.com: Veronica Lane, Wesley Blake, Tye Dillinger, Marcus Louis and Bull Dempsey.
– According to latest reports, WWE has yet to contact anyone who took part in the March tryout camp at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. That is the tryout that had all of the top Ring Of Honor stars, such as Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong and ACH.
– As far as interest levels on the internet for the characters involved in WrestleMania XXX this year on the day after the show, Undertaker blew away everyone involved, with triple the level of interest of Brock Lesnar, six times the interest of Daniel Bryan and ten times the interest of John Cena.
– WWE talent has the weekend off as they will officially begin their European tour during the middle part of next week. Current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will be part of the crew that leaves after Monday’s RAW for the tour.
– For the second week in a row, top WWE Superstar John Cena is scheduled to appear at the SmackDown television tapings, which take place on Tuesday night in Greensboro, North Carolina.
– Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella recently launched an official Facebook page to keep up with their travels. You can check it out at Facebook.com/BryanBrianna.
– Both of The Funkadactyls — Cameron and Naomi, will be releasing their singles on iTunes later this month. WWE decided to put up a new poll to ask fans which single they will buy first, Naomi’s “Dance All Night” or Cameron’s “Bye Bye.” At last check, with around 2,000 votes cast, Naomi was leading with 75 percent of the vote.
– There will be no WWE SmackDown post-show on the WWE Network tonight. There will, however, be a SmackDown pre-show before this week’s episode begins.
– WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair is scheduled to appear at a wrestling convention at the Newark Memorial High School in Newark, California on May 17th. Also scheduled to appear are Scott and Cody Hall, Chris Masters, Ezekiel Jackson, Molly Holly, Daniels and Kazarian.
– For statistic junkies out there, Daniel Bryan and Kane have had nine singles matches against each other on television over the past two years. Of those nine, Bryan has won seven, with two of those wins coming by way of disqualification. One of his losses was also by disqualification. Bryan has won their last six meetings, as Kane’s last victory over the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion came back in June of 2012.
ROH World Champion Adam Cole recently spoke to Steven Muehlhausen of BetweenTheRopes.com to promote Saturday’s “Global Wars” show.
Lack Of Attention To Detail In Wrestling: “I think your 100 percent right. I think that the guys that do pay attention to detail stand out so much more. And my reasoning behind this is to me, pro wrestling being an event, being a spectacle that people come and watch and check out. Wrestlers and the moves that we are doing are just a small part of the entire show. So like for example, if something needs to be done or something needs to be said, there are often times where I will communicate with the referee, I will communicate with the commentator whether it be Kevin Kelly or Steve Corino. I will communicate with the cameraman and I will let them know there places to be or their stories to tell, to help me tell my story, so the story is told to a broader audience of the people watching it on their computer screens, watching it on their television screens. Because when you have everybody on the same page, paying attention to the same detail that your paying attention too, your story gets told so much better and it’s told so much easier because everyone’s on the same page. And Kevin Steen is very good at that. I like to think I pay attention to that as well, but that is something very very important, that like you said guys don’t pay attention to as much, but I’ve always tried too especially in this role I’ve had as champion.”
How He Relates to Daniel Bryan: “I think for sure. I think that was one of the coolest moments about Wrestlemania 30. There’s a lot of independent wrestlers that are smaller guys from all over the world who wrestle and I looked at that and I said, “ok it totally is possible and it totally is doable.” I think there’s definitely cases where people have made that comment to me before about me with people saying that maybe I am too small or maybe I’m not big enough and I’m not six foot four or 265 pounds. But Daniel Bryan has proved that size doesn’t matter and its true. I know that cliché and said over and over again. If your good enough at what you do in this job, the people will recognize it and their voices will be heard and let the world know that you deserve to be in the position you’re in. Bryan has done great in that role and I can certainly relate to that. It’s very very motivating.”
Cole also gives his thoughts on facing Kevin Steen this Saturday, who he thinks the best wrestler in the world is right now and much more.
