-According to one source, WWE was originally going to focus on a Big Show vs. Randy Orton feud following the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view on October 27th. Apparently, the new plan is for WWE to promote a three-way program that features Big Show vs. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan.

-Several people within WWE are of the opinion that ever since Eric Pankowski left the company before this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, the creative direction has gone downhill.

After a lengthy career in Hollywood, Pankowski was hired by WWE in February of 2012 as the Senior Vice President of Creative and Development. Many credited Pankowski with the great creative run that WWE experienced over the past year, and feel that direction has suffered since his departure from the company.

His YES! Chant Being So Over: It’s so bizarre. It feels like it’s not even real. It feels like it’s not my life. It feels like I am a character watching my life unfold, and I’m walking down and looking at all of these people and I’m doing the motion myself, but I’m also looking at them going, “What are these people doing? Why are they doing it with me?” Sometimes you get that moment of complete escapism, where it’s almost like I’m looking down on myself in this arena as all this is going on, going, “What did I do to deserve something as awesome as this?”

Not Having Any Free Time: I’d say [free time being] nonexistent is an understatement because right now, we’re on the road usually five days a week. And then I come home, and those cameras are right there. I’m very lucky that I am not featured on the reality show. I am a guest that comes in and out of the shots based on them filming Brie. But Brie, they’re filming her all the time, and it’s brutal. [Laughs.] But it’s a good show, and it’s been doing really well, and I think a lot of good stuff is going to come of it.

Proposing To Brie Bella & It Being A Practical Joke On The Total Divas Crew: Quite frankly, by the time that that happened, they were barely there because we’d just done a 5-mile hike. Imagine those people, they don’t know where I’m proposing, right? They’re hoping that it’s at the beginning of the hike, but absolutely not. [Laughs.] I waited until we’re at the top of the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and everybody’s drenched in sweat, and they’ve got the cameras and sound stuff, and nobody was even sure that’s when I was going to propose. They just had to film us that entire time. It was almost like my own practical joke on the reality-show people to make them hike this far with all of this equipment, and then that’s when the biggest moment happens, when they’re completely mentally and physically unprepared for it.

-According to various reports, WWE Superstar John Cena was actually cleared by WWE’s doctors to return to in-ring action at the October 27th Hell In A Cell pay-per-view. That, along with details in our previous report about concerns within WWE that they have alienated their pay-per-view buying audience, is the reason Cena is returning to action so much sooner than originally planned.

-As of Tuesday, the plan for the WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view is for only one match to be contested in an actual Hell In A Cell match. That match is the WWE Championship main event between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan

The reason WWE is stacking the deck so heavily at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view is due to reported concerns that they may have alienated their pay-per-view buying audience with the way they have handled the main event situation on the past couple of pay-per-views.

As noted previously, fans demanded refunds following the recent WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view due to the fact that they paid for a finish that was completely erased and overturned less than 24 hours later on the free WWE RAW television show that followed the next night. Additionally, fans were loudly chanting “refund, refund” after the non-finish to Sunday’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view in Buffalo.

Due to the fact that WWE has handled the main events, which are what pay-per-views are largely sold on, so poorly at their last few shows, the feeling in the company is they need to regain that trust with their pay-per-view buying audience at Hell In A Cell, which is why there seems to be such emphasis on guaranteeing a legitimate finish in the main event, as well as other major selling points to support it underneath. Basically, the company is stacking the deck so heavily that it pretty much guarantees that anyone who buys the show this time will get their money’s worth.

For those reasons, WWE has brought back John Cena earlier than expected for a match against Alberto Del Rio, as well as guaranteed a new WWE Champion in the third-straight pay-per-view main event between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. While they basically guaranteed a winner for the same match at Battleground, they are stressing that this match will be in a Hell In A Cell, which assures viewers that there will be no outside interference, and they have Shawn Michaels as a special guest referee to give further confidence to their fans that there will be a legitimate outcome this time around.

Following the televised portion of Monday’s WWE RAW, which ended with Big Show knocking out WWE COO Triple H, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan continued his celebration. On Monday’s post-Battleground edition of WWE RAW, the main event for the October 27th WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view from Miami, Florida was announced.

In a move that should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, it was announced that a rematch between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan would be held in a Hell In A Cell match, where a new WWE Champion was guaranteed to be determined on the night.

Additionally, it was announced that the match would feature a special guest referee. RAW General Manager Brad Maddox announced that there would be three WWE Hall Of Fame candidates for the WWE Universe to vote for, with the man receiving the most votes being the official for the contest. The three options were Booker T, Bob Backlund and Shawn Michaels. The man who received the most votes, and will officially be the referee of the match, was Shawn Michaels.

So there you have it. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan in a Hell In A Cell match at the next pay-per-view, with special guest referee Shawn Michaels.

WWE Hell In A Cell PPV *SPOILERS* + UPDATE On Undertaker’s WMXXX Opponent [>>]

-The official WWE website has a new article up that alludes to the possibility that Rob Van Dam may be “taking some time off” from WWE action following his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Alberto Del Rio at WWE Battleground. The WWE.com article states the following:

“Now, with the golden losses beginning to pile up, a source has indicated that the ECW Original is considering taking some time off. While WWE.com cannot confirm or deny this rumor at this time, it will be interesting to see whether further details will come to light tonight on Monday Night Raw.”

Van Dam is working on a 3-month short-term deal and will be taking an unspecified amount of time off before he returns for another 90 days.

-After the WWE Battleground pay-per-view ended on Sunday night, both Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton eventually got back to their feet after being knocked out by Big Show. Bryan hit his running knee finisher on Orton, and that was about it. Justin Roberts thanked everyone for coming, and reminded the fans that WWE will be returning to the First Niagra Center in Buffalo for a live event in January.

The infamous Reddit user, Dolphins1925, again had an impressive series of predictions for Sunday’s WWE Battleground event. Dolphins predicted victories for Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, Curtis Axel, AJ Lee, The Rhodes Family, Bray Wyatt and CM Punk, all of whom won their matches at Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Where things got interesting was the WWE Championship main event between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. Dolphins predicted Orton would win, but also noted that there would be a “twist to the match.”

According to one source, WWE may have swerved their employees on the finish of the match specifically because of the recent gambling situation and PPV leaks issue, informing them only of the storyline plan for Big Show to knockout Bryan to assist Orton in victory.

What happened after that is anyone’s guess, but some claim WWE only informed a select few who were actually going to be physically involved in the match that Big Show would also be knocking out Orton, leading to the non-finish everyone saw at the end of the show.

According to one source, the plan as of this past Thursday was for the WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan at this Sunday’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view to go on at approximately 10:25pm E.T. This would mean the Orton-Bryan match would be around a 30 minute match.

It’s also worth noting that there is a good chance that the finish of the match between Orton and Bryan at Battleground this Sunday will involve Big Show in some form or fashion.

– It would appear that WWE’s kid-friendly program, Saturday Morning Slam, is through as it is no longer listed as an active show on the company website and the new television season has begun without it airing.

According to this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are rumors of creative differences between CW executives and WWE officials as executives at the network apparently wanted WWE to alter the program’s format from taped matches to a news magazine—similar to NBA Inside Stuff—negotiations fell apart from there. For the time being, it’s a subject that nobody is officially discussing.

The show is rated TV-G (one level lower than WWE’s general TV-PG rating), and due to being aimed specifically at children, it does not feature any moves or holds aimed at the head or neck due to what is seen as their violent nature.

– The official WWE website has issued a poll asking fans whether Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella should have kept quiet about their relationship. With over 11,000 votes cast, 66% say “No. They have nothing to hide and being open and honest about their relationship is the best policy.” The other option is “Yes. Revealing their engagement and being part of “Total Divas” is just one big distraction to their in-ring careers.”

– Celebrating birthdays Thursday are WWE Hall of Famer “Bullet” Bob Armstrong (74), John Morrison (34), Danny Basham (36) and Mikey Batts (30).

– WWE is already discussing possible inductees for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. One big name that’s been rumored all year is the Ultimate Warrior.

Warrior and WWE are currently on good terms, with Warrior being a part of the new WWE 2K14 video game and WWE CEO Vince McMahon personally welcoming Warrior back to the WWE Universe over the summer. Warrior and Vince met face to face in Los Angeles during SummerSlam weekend and we could see Warrior return to WWE TV next year for the first time since 1996.

DeGeneration-X is also being considered for a Hall of Fame induction. DX was rumored for last year’s Hall of Fame class, but the decision was made to hold off on those plans after WWE locked in Bruno Sammartino.

It was announced on Monday’s live edition of WWE RAW, the “go-home” show for Sunday’s WWE Battleground event, that there will be another “Kickoff Show” prior to the pay-per-view. The match announced for the “Kickoff Show” is a singles match between Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow.

Also revealed on RAW was the story we reported this weekend, that WWE Superstars and Total Divas co-stars Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella got engaged. The real-life engagement was revealed during a backstage segment with The Bella Twins, where WWE Superstar Randy Orton came in and warned Bella to schedule the wedding carefully because he is going to hurt Bryan.
