Momentum is everything in the WWE, as even a main event superstar is only a few bad losses away from being relegated to the midcard. Inspired by pound-for-pound boxing rankings, we will track the biggest winners and losers each week in the WWE. Here are this week’s power rankings.
10. Ryback
![]()
The Big Guy is back in a big way. Since returning to action, Ryback has squashed his competition. He took out Titus O’Neil on Raw and Cesaro on SmackDown to secure his spot in the top ten. It will be interesting to see how his matchup with John Cena plays out tonight on Raw.
9. Damien Mizdow

The crowd continues to eat up Sandow’s work on a weekly basis. He helped the Miz pick up a win on Raw against Jimmy Uso as his stock continues to rise.

Dean Ambrose, who will face Seth Rollins this Sunday at Hell in a Cell, still finds being a babyface to be “a bit strange” after splitting from The Shield in June.
“I never pictured myself being liked by anybody. I’ve always fed off negativity and wanting people to hate me. That attitude really fueled me for my entire career. So being a guy that people like and want to cheer for is the weird part,” Ambrose told Rolling Stone for an article profiling his persona.
As a babyface, Ambrose must also face the challenge of maintaining his performance edge “without succumbing to clichés.”
“I think we’ve trained the audience that it’s, ‘Good guy does down, good guy starts shaking, crowd starts clapping, good guy claps his hands three times, hits his move, finish,'” Ambrose laments. “Everybody’s got a formula for their comeback. And no offense to anybody, but John Cena has his comeback, Kofi Kingston has his comeback. I’ve got a little formula too, but I keep it much shorter. I’m like, ‘Why does everything have to be so locked into a box?'”
Name-dropping Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody, Ambrose hopes to fashion himself in their image as “just a wild man,” saying, “I have that anti-romantic image in my head. I was kind of living in my own little mini-version of that.”
He continues, “Who knows how long that will last? All the people who love me right now are probably gonna hate me next month.”
Elsewhere in the article, it is revealed that Ambrose has a girlfriend and he currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her name, however, is not mentioned, only that she resides in New York City and he was spending time there in a rare window of time off.

– Although current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was not originally scheduled to work the company’s upcoming Survivor Series or TLC pay-per-views, WWE officials are reportedly in talks with him about working more television dates to help promote his match, which is confirmed, for the 2015 Royal Rumble show.
– As things stand right now, the current plan is for Dean Ambrose to continue using the double-arm DDT instead of the headlock DDT for his finisher, with the announcers selling the move as “Dirty Deeds.”

Dean Ambrose spoke to Xfinity.Comcast.com this week to hype his match against Seth Rollins at Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
How He Plans To Stand Out This Sunday:
“Going into anything like this, you want to put your own stamp on it. You want to do something that’s never been done before. I hate a formula. I hate stepping in the footsteps of those that came before me. And Seth has the same mindset. Even though we’re enemies and opponents, and are going to be trying to rip each other’s heads off in the Cell.”
Wanting To Outshine John Cena and Randy Orton:
“(Laughs) If you know anything about me, you know that I don’t have any trepidation. I’m not going to walk into there shaking in my boots. It’ll be my first time and Seth Rollins’ first time. I’m not afraid to take a risk. And Seth Rollins isn’t afraid to take a risk. I don’t see anything that Seth Rollins can do to me, or the Authority, or the Cell is anything worse than anything I’ve been through. I’m looking to raise the bar a little bit. And it’s hard because the Cell is a lot higher than it used to be.”
Comparing His Rise To Steve Ausin’s:
“There’s no confusing me and Steve Austin. (Laughs) There will never be another Steve Austin. As far as taking an opportunity like that….the thing I like about Steve Austin is his tenacity, his work ethic, and his…”Screw you, you’re not taking food off of my plate” thing. I’ve starved and lived on the road. And I’m not letting anyone walk all over me. That intensity…a lot of people they get so caught up in the grind here, so it’s hard to bring that 100% intensity every night. Steve Austin, you watch his old stuff, he never took a breath. Working Steve Austin must’ve been exhausting.”

Fans are only days away from the annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Emanating from Dallas, TX, this year’s event will feature a total of eight matches, including a WWE World Heavyweight Championship-less double main event.
With the title being noticeably absent, the company will hopefully try to pull out something to make this a memorable pay-per-view. Here are five potential Hell in a Cell shockers.

Dean Ambrose was recently interviewed by Sam Roberts, here are some highlights of what he said about:
Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns’ Injuries Creating An Opportunity For Him:
“Injuries are always unfortunate and sometimes if things are spread a little thinner, you might have to put more work on your plate that night because the show must go on. I’m not trying to take anyone’s spot in the business. I’m trying to have my own spot that no one can take because it’s my spot, it’s my thing. I’m trying to do my thing, not really worried about where everybody else is. But stuff happens and you just have to roll with the punches. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there and there’s only so much screen time on a Monday Night RAW. So when the herd gets a little thinner, you got to step up and take the responsibility of it. In some ways we’re all on the same team here, we’re trying to entertain the world and put on a hell of a show every night.”
Being Compared To Brian Pillman, Steve Austin and Others:
“I’ve watched so much wrestling and studied everybody that I don’t pattern myself off anyone particularly, or trying to fill any particular role. I’m just a weird mismatch of a million different styles and influences and experience. I really don’t know what’s going to happen when I go out there. What you see is what you get and you might get a different thing on a different night, every night. I’m trying to make my own spot.”

The following are highlights of the latest Jim Ross blog:
On Dean Ambrose: “Up and down week as it relates to some of the creative for Dean Ambrose who has been building his TV persona well the past few weeks. I thought Ambrose leveled out or took a step back somewhat Monday night.”
On Hell In A Cell: “I still think that creativity as it relates to stunts, etc for this Sunday’s HIAC will be challenging considering that there will be two Hell in a Cell matches on the show both in a PG world. Anxious to see how the creative minds come up with elements that will make the two main events special, different and perceived as ‘dangerous.'”
On mid-card champions losing: “Again the IC and the US Title holders lost on the WWE’s franchise broadcast which is a head scratcher especially as it downgrades their top two, regularly seen titles notwithstanding it does then on televised live events no favors. As I’ve mentioned on the Ross Report Podcast it seems as if holding the IC and US titles is a curse to the titleholders. I can’t explain this particular creative. Hopefully it will change sooner than later. Having meaningless titles is illogical.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley, who made a surprise return on Monday’s WWE Hell In A Cell “go-home” edition of RAW in Kansas City, posted the following blog about his experience on his official Facebook page.
YOU PROVED ME WRONG!
Just two weeks’s ago, following the electrifying live appearance of The Rock on #RAW, I was asked on social media when I’d be showing up. I replied that I wasn’t really in that league any more (the small list of legends who can make an instant impact with an appearance) and that I was more of a panel discussion guy, or a Hall of Famer who shows up to present an award, or appear in a backstage vignette. I wasn’t feeling sorry for myself either. I just honestly felt like that ship had sailed – and that I was no longer on board.
Well, last night, you proved me wrong! The whole scenario just seemed to make perfect sense, and I was able to feed off the energy of Ambrose, Rollins and a very appreciative Kansas City crowd to take part in something that felt special; something that left me feeling good – basking in the memories of the moment, and the amazing feedback from family, friends and fans. I felt like a kid who had gotten everything he’d asked for on Christmas. Sure, I made some mistakes. It was actually 18 years ago yesterday that I faced The Undertaker in “Buried Alive”, not “Not Hell in a Cell” which was two years later, and I misquoted Nietzsche…but who among us hasn’t done that?
Speaking of Christmas, how about that “flannel over Santa” look, marking the 300th consecutive day I’ve worn Santa Claus themed attire. Only 65 days left in this Foley fashion quest.
Realistically, what role would you like to see me play in WWE moving forward? I’ve got some ideas. Let me hear yours.
Thanks to all of you who have supported my live shows. There may be nothing like the adrenaline rush of a hot promo on live TV, but telling my tales across the country, and the world, is a close second. You can catch me TOMORROW in #Cornwall ON, Thursday & Friday on #Ottawa, then #QuebecCity for a combined Comic Con signing and live show on Saturday.
NOVEMBER is looking to be a HUGE month for me, with #HardcoreLegend shows in #BROOKLYN #CHICAGO/#ROSEMONT & #PEORIA IL, #PROVIDENCE #MARIETTA & #CINCINNATI (Newport, KY) OH, #NASHVILLE & #MEMPHIS TN #ROME & #ATLANTA GA, and signings in #Rahway NJ & #GAFFNEY SC.

Although he didn’t appear live on WWE RAW on Monday night in Kansas City, WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan came out in front of the live audience after the show went off the air.
Once the show wrapped up, John Cena and Dean Ambrose continued their brawl with Kane, which eventually led to “The Hulkster” coming out and doing his muscle poses with Cena.
Hogan and Cena pandered to the fans in Kansas City for about five minutes or so, sending everyone home happy.
Also, as noted during RAW, Hogan appeared on the “RAW Backstage Pass” show on the WWE Network, giving his predictions and analysis for this Sunday’s WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

As of earlier today, the plan for tonight’s RAW in Kansas City was for WWE to make the announcement of Goldust and Stardust vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag-Team Championships at the October 26th Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.
Also as of this morning, the company was still going back-and-forth as to which cell match will be closing the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view this Sunday night, Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose or John Cena vs. Randy Orton. As of this afternoon, no official decision had been made.

We are less than one week away from the WWE’s latest pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell. At last year’s event, Shawn Michaels betrayed Daniel Bryan in a championship match against Randy Orton.
A lot has changed over the past year, evidenced by the fact that Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will be headlining half of the double main event. The shelf life of a WWE superstar can be short, so it’s always important for superstars to make the most of their time in the ring, especially at pay-per-views. Here is a look at the superstars who have progressed, regressed, or remained stagnant over the past year.
Progression:
1. Dean Ambrose
![Ambrose 2]()
Nobody had made more progress since last year than Dean Ambrose. At last year’s event, Ambrose was an invisible US Champion and lost his undercard contest to Big E by countout.
This year, he will be headlining the event in a Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins. He continues to receive as much airtime as anyone on Raw each week and has been getting great reactions from the crowds. What a difference a year makes.
2. Seth Rollins
![rollins]()
Although Dean Ambrose has progressed the most over the past year, his former partner Seth Rollins is a close second. Rollins will be joining Ambrose inside of a Hell in a Cell for half of the main event, and also holds the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Over the past year, Rollins has improved every aspect of his game. He is stronger on the mic, he developed a convincing and unique finisher, and has adopted a heel personality that has gotten over with the fans. Rollins is a star on the rise and without a doubt a future world champion.

The following are highlights of a new Between The Ropes interview with Chris Jericho:
On his latest run in the WWE: The Bray Wyatt cage match in Baltimore and then the Randy Orton – Night of Champions match in Nashville I thought were two…whatever a five star match is. Two really really really good matches that I would put on my list of all-time favorites. And that was good to know because as the years go by, I feel just as good as I ever did. When I go back I’m mentally prepared and I think I still work up to a level I set for myself. But when you go out there and actually do some of those things and actually get the feedback from the live audience that you know you can get and from the critics. The fact that my last match was the best match on the pay-per-view against Randy Orton, I take great pride in that. And if I never work again, I know I’ll always have that. It’s still cool to contribute at the highest level and the day — and Brian, I’m not exaggerating about this — the day I feel I can’t compete at the highest level I set for myself and can’t steal the show, I will not do it again. Throw it on the record, I’m the one guy who can say that. I’m sure Shawn Michaels could say that too. You will not see me in the ring again as a parody of myself or anything other than the absolute best and can go toe-to-toe with anybody else on the roster.
On his relationship with Vince McMahon: I think Vince sees a lot of himself in me. I’m a rebel. I do things the way I see fit but I do it for the good of the company. I’m a company man through and through. I’ve wrestled for nobody — I haven’t taken a bump in any other ring other than a WWE ring since 1999 when I started working for Vince — and I never will. I won’t go back to Japan for a tour or go work here or go work there. Not interested in it. If I’m going to be wrestling, it for Vince McMahon and Vince McMahon only. And he knows that I think he respects that. He also knows I’m not a ‘yes’ man. I don’t have that in me. I have to tell him how I feel. I have to tell him why I think this is better and I can tell him sometimes he’s wrong. Nobody likes to hear that, especially a guy in his position but I think I can do it in more of a deliberate way, more of an ambassadorial way, but I don’t have that in me and I don’t think he wants that.
His thoughts on Dean Ambrose: I saw Dean when he first started and there was something different about him. He has that Jeff Hardy ‘X’ factor. There’s just something about him that you can’t push on somebody. You can teach them how to take a bump, give them a look, give them wins but certain guys have a certain something about them that you know is going to take them to the next level no matter what. Dean definitely has that and in my opinion — I’m not the god of everything but I have a pretty good track record of picking guys — I think he’s the closest that they have right now to being the next face of the WWE. I don’t think that’s as important now with the Network and less emphasis on pay-per-views and that sort of thing. But as far as a guy who can come in there as the top babyface, I think Dean’s your best best right now.

The Divas tag match joins the aforementioned handicap street fight announced for the show, which features John Cena and Dean Ambrose teaming up to take on the trio of Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane.
Also announced for Monday’s RAW, the Hell In A Cell cage will be hanging above the ring during the show, as revealed by Triple H in his latest WWE.com sit-down interview with Michael Cole.

Do you feel like WWE dropped the ball on Bray Wyatt? I thought he looked like a complete joke in his feud with Cena so I appreciated that you took him more seriously. Bray will be a world champion within a year
Thoughts on the rapid rise of Dean Ambrose? Much deserved
What happened to Lights Go Out being in WWE 2K15? It’s not listed in the official press release! Tell me about it. I’m pissed
You don’t mention much in your book about your 2010 departure from the WWE. How did you put that storyline together? Were there plans for you to return and feud with Orton? the plan was for me to return and feud with Orton for Wrestlemania. I chose to do DANCING WITH STARS instead
Do you think Benoit should be in hall of fame? Never

WWE officials were reportedly very careful not to portray the John Cena vs. Randy Orton match at the upcoming Hell In A Cell pay-per-view as the “loser’s match.”
Announcers on Monday’s RAW were apparently told never to say the “loser” of the Cena vs. Dean Ambrose contract on a pole match would be facing Orton. Orton also kept referring to his match as the “main event.”
While it’s possible that Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins goes on last at the pay-per-view, it’s said that both Hell In A Cell matches will be promoted equally.
Regarding Cena vs. Orton, this will be the ninth time that the two have competed in a singles match on a WWE pay-per-view. Each man has won three of their meeting, while each also picked up a win by disqualification.

The Seth Rollins/John Cena/Dean Ambrose hate triangle continued last night on Raw, with Dean Ambrose prevailing over John Cena to secure his spot in the main event at Hell in a Cell.
It was also announced that John Cena would square off against Randy Orton in the other half of the double main event. However, did the company make the right call by going with Ambrose over Cena? Here are the pros and cons of each main event, allowing for you to make the decision.
John Cena vs. Randy Orton
![f56553b90391e05c294bff138f84ecc7]()
Pros: These guys have faced each other too many times to count, including a multi-month program earlier in the year, so the two veterans should have excellent chemistry together.
Adding the Hell in a Cell stipulation should also help spice up the contest, as fans grew tired during their last meeting at the Royal Rumble. In all, by having two Hell in a Cell contests, it should perfectly juxtapose the talent of yesterday (Cena and Orton) with the talent of tomorrow (Rollins and Ambrose).
Cons: As previously mentioned, fans practically booed Cena and Orton out of the building in January. It seems like this has the chance of being a filler main event, as there is essentially no build to the matchup and fans have already seen the two square off more times than they can remember. Additionally, a double main event that features two Hell in a Cell matches could be a bit overkill.

As a result of the outcome of the RAW main event, Dean Ambrose will challenge Seth Rollins inside the cell at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.
Due to his loss, John Cena will take on Randy Orton — also inside the cell — at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.
Both matches were made official on this week’s edition of WWE RAW.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recently posted the following blogs on his official Facebook page:
THE NEW NATTIE
I’m just catching up on the #TotalDivas episodes I missed while I was out in Western Canada. How about the new look for Nattie ? Sometimes, when wrestlers are as consistently good as Nattie, they tend to get taken for granted. Maybe this bold new look will remind #WWE of the great wrestler and person they’ve had in their midst all this time.
Foley also posted this one:
THE AMBROSE DDT
I’ve been asked so many times since WWE Monday Night Raw – literally dozens…and dozens of times – how I feel about Dean Ambrose – WWE using the Mick Foley #DoubleArmDDT at the conclusion of the show.
Easy answer: I love it! Besides, it’s not exactly MY DDT, anyway, I saw a young Kenta Kobashi (who went on to become an all-time great in our business) using it on a 1991 tour doe All-Japan wrestling, and thought “I can pull that off!” And so I did. I wish Dean nothing but the best with it, and hope it’s a regular part of his arsenal on his rocket-ride to the top of WWE.
I’m flattered any time I see a WWE Superstar or Diva borrow anything from the Foley library – be it a move, a phrase, or just the idea of giving fans their money’s worth each time they step into the ring.
You can catch me TONIGHT from 5-7 pm, signing #WWE comics at the #Papercutz booth and TOMORROW from 11-1 with #VirgilFilms at the NEW YORK COMIC CON! The following are highlights of a new Trib Live interview with Dean Ambrose:
On some Superstars being predictable: “There’s a lot of guys in WWE, you would know who they are, you know you’re going to see the same thing every single match. You know you’re going to hear the same thing every time they pick up a microphone. You know John Cena is never going to get mad at you no matter what you do. You could steal his dog or set his house on fire and he’s not going to get all that mad at you. He’s going to come out and do the same thing he always does. Me, I’m not like that. I get pretty upset pretty quickly.”
I don’t like having an entrance or anything like that too set in stone. A lot of guys come out and have the exact little dance or exact little thing that goes off at the right time with the pyro. What if I’m not in the mood to do my little dance this week?”
On the Attitude Era: “I don’t like my wrestling or entertainment in general to be too clean or predictable for me as a fan. When I say clean, I’m not talking about dirty jokes, middle fingers and stuff like that. I’m actually not even a big fan of that.
A lot of people talk about the attitude era being so great but a lot of it was terrible crap, sex jokes and over-the-top terrible bad comedy. It was Jerry Springer-like. They made a joke about a woman’s breasts. Hilarious, but where’s the wrestling? I look back on a lot of stuff now, and I’m like where’s the wrestling? It’s just a lot of crappy jokes.”
