Dean Ambrose To Appear On Raw This Week, Top Ten Sinister Superstar Traps

Dean Ambrose To Appear On Raw This Week

Dean Ambrose was not present for last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. WWE explained his absence with an angle of several pre-taped videos where he was seen trying to avoid Milwaukee.

Now the company has announced via the following video that the Lunatic Fringe will make an appearance at tonight’s episode of the show to address his TLC opponent and Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins:

It’s possible that we will finally see a confrontation between these two stars for the first time since Ambrose’s heel turn last month and it will be interesting to see what Rollins has to say if it happens.

Top Ten Sinister Superstar Traps

WWE posted another one of the top 10 videos from their YouTube account recently and this time it features the top ten ‘Sinister Superstar traps’.

The list begins with Mr. McMahon setting up a trap for arch-rival Stone Cold Steve Austin during a Royal Rumble match and beating him up with help from other wrestlers.

It has a lot more Steve Austin and also features some other trap angles which see a number of top superstars getting ambushed. You can check out the video posted by WWE below:

Several Backstage Notes From Last Night’s RAW

Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW went down from The Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconson. The show continued the build to next month’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV). PWInsider has provided several interesting backstage notes regarding the show. First, it turns out Vince McMahon was backstage at the show and oversaw all creative aspects of the program.

It was also noted that Dean Ambrose’s promo was pre-taped, and he was not in Milwaukee with the rest of the roster last night. As for Braun Strowman’s promo, that angle was also pre-taped last week for this week’s show. However, Strowman is legitimately in Birmingham, Alabama for surgery. If he hasn’t already, he’s set to go under the knife to repair some bone spurs in his elbow.

It was also mentioned that several WWE personnel were happy with The Fiserv Forum and how easy it was to load into the stadium and utilize the facility. The report also revealed that the woman who asked Bayley and Sasha Banks how they would change the women’s division was planted in the crowd before the segment.

Finally, as we’ve noted, Ring Of Honor star Silas Young was in attendance for RAW. His deal with ROH is set to expire soon, and he’s rumored to be WWE bound.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins Official For WWE TLC

WWE has announced the first match for the final pay-per-view event of the year for the company, TLC.

It was revealed during the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network that Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins would defend his title against Dean Ambrose at this event. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what the stipulation for this match will be.

Just last month, Ambrose and Rollins beat Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the RAW Tag Team Titles. However, after the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins.

Now, with Roman Reigns being out of action, it appears that the feud between the RAW Tag Team Champions will be the top program on the flagship show of the company. Rollins would later lose the titles to Authors of Pain. WWE is already advertising Ambrose vs. Rollins for upcoming live events including the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania 35 that goes down on April 1st from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

The TLC pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.

Chris Jericho On Why Vince Changed Survivor Series, Takes Shot At Brock Lesnar

Daniel Bryan beat A.J. Styles for the WWE Championship this week. On Talk Is Jericho, Chris Jericho gave his insight on what he believes Vince McMahon’s thought process was like when making the decision to end Styles’ title reign of more than a year.

“I think that Vince wanted a buzz going into Survivor Series, because he lost his main event, which was Ronda vs. Becky,” Jericho said.

“He needed a buzz. ‘I need buzz-worthy. I will change the title.’ Because to him, A.J. and Bryan are the same. They’re both great workers. They’re both the same size.

Jericho’s explanation didn’t end there, as he also managed to work in a couple of thinly-veiled jabs at Brock Lesnar.

“They’re both going to get eaten alive by Brock depending on what kind of mood he’s in, if he even wants to have a match or whatever,” Jericho said.

“Because sometimes Brock will just show up and say ‘Yeah, we’ll just talk about it in the ring.’ That’s what happened with Ambrose at WrestleMania. They didn’t even go over anything.”

Jericho did not elaborate further. But from the context of the comments, and by invoking the Ambrose match, you can connect the dots on how Jericho feels about Lesnar’s professionalism.

Dean Ambrose Reveals Why He Turned On The Shield On Raw (Video)

The “Lunatic Fringe” has finally revealed what made him turn on his partner Seth Rollins a few weeks ago on Raw.

After defeating Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in a tag-team championship match on the October 22nd episode of Raw, Ambrose turned on his partner Rollins, which was a big surprise move.

It was the same night when Roman Reigns revealed that he has been fighting from leukemia.

Ambrose again attacked Rollins last week after he lost the tag team titles to The Authors of Pain in a handicap match.

On this week’s episode of Raw, Seth Rollins was looking for answers about the betrayal from his Shield brother, and it was finally revealed in a weird promo.

Ambrose, sitting on a car next to a lit barrel, explained that he attacked Rollins because he believed that Rollins and Reigns made him weak because he had to watch their backs. He used to believe that the Shield vest made him strong, but he doesn’t think so anymore.

Saying that, he poured gasoline over the vest and threw it onto a burning barrel.

More Information About Dean Ambrose Turning On Seth Rollins

The ending of Monday Night Raw left fans in a state of shock for many different reasons.

With Dean Ambrose turning on his Shield brother, Seth Rollins, after winning the tag team titles from Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, the attack left viewers emotionally conflicted.

This is because the man that completes their trio, Roman Reigns, had only just revealed his unfortunate battle with leukemia earlier that night. During his heartfelt promo, Reigns would also relinquish the WWE Universal Championship.

Turns out that Ambrose’s actions weren’t originally planned to take place this past Monday. Original plans had his assault scheduled in November circa Survivor Series.

Dirty Deeds

According to the Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez, Dean “wasn’t even supposed to turn heel last night.”

Apparently, “the actual plan was that he was going to turn around Survivor Series and they [the WWE] moved it up and they specifically did it to capitalize on the emotions of a guy who’s home to fight for his life.”

He also speculated that a huge one-on-one match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins would be scheduled for Wrestlemania 35 on April 7th, 2019.

“I believe 100% that the WrestleMania main event is Seth Rollins challenging Dean Ambrose for the WWE Title,” he said. “Now how you get there, I have no idea.”

What do you think? Would you like to see this match main event Wrestlemania 35? Were you conflicted at all at what transpired? How would you like to see them book their feud going forward?

Roman Reigns Backstage After His Announcement, What Happened After Raw? (Video)

This week’s episode of Raw started and ended with awe as we saw some of the biggest wrestling stories of the year unfolding during the show.

The opening segment saw Roman Reigns delivering an emotional speech and revealing that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to the return of leukemia.

The segment ended with Roman leaving the title in the ring and heading backstage with his Shield brothers. WWE posted this behind the scenes video of the now former Universal Champion greeting with other WWE superstars backstage after the revelation:

On the other hand, the ending of Raw saw Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeating the team of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

However, this duo didn’t celebrate for long. Ambrose turned on his Shield-brother moments after the bout ended and left Rollins laying at the ringside after a vicious post-match attack.

After the show went off air, WWE posted the following video of Seth from their YouTube account in which he can be seen recovering from this shock and making his way back to the bakcstage area:

Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins Win WWE RAW Tag Team Titles, Big Heel Turn Takes Place

A big title change went down on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Providence, RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center on the USA Network.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles. This marks the second time that they have held the titles together. After the match, Ambrose turned heel by attacking Rollins and connecting with Dirty Deeds. He would later beat him down to end the show.

Although the company has yet to officially announce when the Ziggler and McIntyre will get their rematch for the gold, it’s likely to come soon, but with this heel turn, things are up in the air as to where this storyline goes. WWE could have Ambrose and Rollins vacate the titles or force them to defend them against Ziggler and McIntyre at their next pay-per-view event.

WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on November 2nd, 2018 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Saud University Stadium and will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming days.

What are your thoughts on this title change? Was this the right time for the titles to change hands? Sound off in the comment section.

Renee Young Comments On Dean Ambrose’s “Scary” Health Issues

The WWE Universe is glad to have Dean Ambrose back on TV. “The Lunatic Fringe” suffered a tricep injury in December that sidelined him for several months. The road back to the squared circle was a hard one for Ambrose. It took him nearly nine months to make his WWE TV return.

Following surgery, Ambrose went through extensive rehab to get himself back into shape. In fact, he put on a bit of muscle and looks better than ever upon making his return last month. Following his initial surgery in December, however, Ambrose encountered a big problem.

Ambrose’s Scary Health Issues

He suffered an infection from the surgery and needed to be operated on once again to clean it out. After that, Ambrose went through a grueling time and was forced to take antibiotics for months. His wife, Monday Night commentator Renee Young, detailed the “scary” ordeal during an appearance on WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ podcast, The Ross Report:

“He ended up having to go back in and having another surgery on his arm. He tore his tricep and went for surgery in December. And then, I remember him calling me New Year’s Day, we had a show in Miami [Florida]. RAW was in Miami and his arm was bleeding everywhere.

“He woke up and there was blood all over the bed and he was so confused by what happened, not being able to fully get a look at what happened to his arm. He kept bandaging it up to get it to reseal as quickly as possible this opening that happened in his arm.

“So he eventually had to go back to Birmingham [Alabama], which is where he had his surgery initially, just for a check in, and that’s when they realized his infection had escalated a lot.

“They had to go back in and clean it out. He was on antibiotics for months! It was really scary, just knowing the severity.” Young said. “It was really tough to see somebody that you love go through something like that, especially somebody like Dean who is this indestructible force and to see him down and out with something like that, it was… yeah, it was tough to go through.”

WWE’s Original Plan For The Shield Reunion Revealed

Last night on Monday Night Raw, WWE teased that Dean Ambrose might turn on the Shield. He didn’t, however, and the show ended with all three members standing in the ring together.

According to a recent report on Wrestling Observer Radio, however, when the Shield originally reformed last year, the plan had been for Ambrose to turn on the other two members.

Original Plan For The Shield Reunion Revealed

“Originally, Dean Ambrose, before he tore his triceps and had surgery, he was going to turn heel on the Shield,” said Dave Meltzer. “That was the plan and Dean Ambrose was going to wrestle Seth Rollins at WrestleMania this year.”

How long the Shield was going to remain reunited before Ambrose turned on the others is not clear.

“I had always assumed when Roman Reigns won the title, that Dean Ambrose was going to turn just because it was always the plan, I figured they might as well.”

As it stands now, the Shield is scheduled to face Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre in a 6-man tag team match scheduled for Super Show-Down in Australia on October 6th. Reigns will then look to defend his newly won Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in November.

Renee Young On Why She Was Quiet During Dean Ambrose’s RAW Return On Commentary

Renee Young has made strides in her WWE broadcasting career. Getting her start as a backstage interviewer for several years, Young has now made history. She is the first woman to be added to the Monday Night RAW commentary team full-time. Young has received a ton of support from the professional wrestling community for the feat.

Although she wasn’t full-time at the time, Young was even on the RAW commentary team when her husband, Dean Ambrose, made his WWE TV return. During the moment, however, Young didn’t say much. She explained why in a recent interview with Yahoo:

“That was by design. I think it made more sense because I knew for Dean, he had been waiting for almost nine months, and it was a huge, huge moment for him.

“Anything that I would have said in that moment would not have added. It was great just to sit back and see him in that moment. My heart was full for him.”

WWE Universe Loves Renee Young

Young is almost universally loved by WWE fans. She has done a nice job on commentary, and prior to that, was an excellent host for WWE pre-show panels. Not to mention her stellar work as a backstage interviewer. Young is in awe of the love she receives from the WWE Universe:

“I’m not sure what I’ve done to deserve that. We live in such a finicky world where everyone just wants to hate everything. Everyone always has a comment on something. To be held in a nice light is mind-boggling. I owe everybody a round of drinks.”

Young’s rise within WWE couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. With the Women’s Revolution being one of the company’s top priorities at the moment, Young is playing a major role:

“I feel so proud, really, getting to help lead that march. I know there’s a long road ahead of me and there’s a lot of work that I need to do to really do this justice. It’s a big job, and I’m so excited to do that work.”

Corey Graves Reveals How The Shield Got Out Of Jail On RAW

On Monday’s RAW, tensions between The Shield and Braun Strowman’s new faction continued to grow. Strowman has now aligned himself with RAW Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. He has now evened the odds against Roman Reigns and The Shield. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose came to Reigns’ aid when Strowman attempted to cash-in his Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase.

Now, Strowman will get his one-on-one shot at Reigns’ Universal Title inside Hell In A Cell. As we build to that, however, The Shield continue to feud with Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre. This week the two factions collided to open up RAW.

Acting General Manager Baron Corbin ushered out the entire locker room to separate the six men. They continued to fight into the backstage area, but eventually The Shield were arrested and taken away for most of the show.

Towards the end of the night, Michael Cole announced that The Shield had been released from jail. They returned in a cop car and made their way to the ring to meet Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler.

Before that could happen, however, all the heels in the locker room came out to ambush The Shield. The show went off-air as Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose laid lifeless on the floor.

The Explanation

Several days removed from RAW, we finally have an explanation as to how The Shield got out of jail. Corey Graves took to Twitter and suggested that WWE’s David Otunga phoned in a friend in the legal community to get The Shield released.

Here’s Graves’ Tweet:

More On The Shield’s Return On RAW

The Shield’s return on RAW last night really took a lot of WWE fans by surprise.

Roman Reigns was defending his Universal Championship against Finn Balor in the night’s main event. In the middle of the match, Braun Strowman hit the ring with his Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase. He intended to cash-in on the match’s winner.

Reigns was able to pick up the win on a distracted Balor, after hitting him with a Spear. Strowman then got into the ring and downed Reigns with a big boot to the chest. Just before the referee could ring the bell to begin the match, The Shield’s music hit.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, dressed in their old Shield gear, came out to Reigns’ aid. The trio attacked Strowman and hit him with a Triple Powerbomb through the announce table. For the time being, it looks like The Shield is back together.

Reigns took to Twitter shortly after the show to comment on The Shield’s reunion:

Another interesting note, The Shield’s old Twitter account has resurfaced again. It had been two years since their last Tweet – until today. The account retweeted and commented on WWE’s photo of the trio’s reunion last night:

Jim Ross Wants Dean Ambrose To Turn Heel

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently took to his podcast, The Ross Report, to comment on several professional wrestling topics.

“Good Ole’ JR” offered his thoughts on the recent return of Dean Ambrose. “The Lunatic Fringe” made his comeback on the go-home episode of RAW to SummerSlam. Ambrose was ringside for Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental Title match with Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler had Drew McIntyre in his corner, so Ambrose accompanied Rollins to even the odds. Many were speculating that Ambrose would turn heel on Rollins at SummerSlam. However, that never took place. Rollins emerged victorious and left Summer Slam as the new Intercontinental Champion.

In fact, the following night on RAW, Rollins and Ambrose reunited The Shield to come to Roman Reigns’ aid. They stopped Braun Strowman from cashing-in his Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase on “The Big Dog” for the Universal Title.

Ross Wants Dean Ambrose To Turn Heel

Ross mentioned that Ambrose has looked great upon his return. He offered that he thinks he’d be more valuable to the company as a heel at this point, however:

“I thought Dean looked great. I like his shorter haircut. A guy kind of being follicly-challenged and they’re trying to mask it with longer hair that is unruly or will go here, there, and yonder to cover up a [bald] spot, it’s not real flattering to you.

“I thought his haircut was spot on. I thought the beard was spot on. Obviously, Ambrose has trained religiously to heal and to get bigger, better, and stronger. And really, my hat’s off to him for that.

“But I can tell you, he certainly carried himself like a villain. I felt he is going to be a villain, or a heel, or as Jim Cornette would say, ‘he’s a heel, Goddammit!’ To me, he looks like a heel.

“Now, the welcome back pop was what it was and deservedly so, but I just see him being able to be a big time player more as a heel than as a fan favorite in WWE right now. And we’ll see.” Ross added, “I still think he could be most valuable for WWE right now, seemingly how the roster is outlined, as a villain.”

Discussion: What do you make of Ross’ comments about Ambrose being more valuable to WWE as a heel right now? Let us know in the comments!

Seth Rollins Defeats Dolph Ziggler to Become Intercontinental Champion at SummerSlam

Seth Rollins brought an equalizer to the ring with him on Sunday night and he’s now a two-time Intercontinental champion after defeating Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.

Monday night saw the return of Dean Ambrose after being out of action for the past nine months due to an injured right arm but he was ringside with Rollins to help negate Drew McIntyre.

The plan worked well as Ambrose got involved towards the final few seconds of the match, delivering Dirty Deeds to McIntyre to keep him from interfering in the finish.

As for Rollins, he delivered another incredible match with Ziggler as these two hit several incredible spots as the kickoff bout for the main card at SummerSlam.

The end came after Ambrose took out McIntyre and it looked like Ziggler would still take advantage of the distraction with a super kick warmed up for Rollins.

Rollins reversed the moves as he turned around and immediately launched a super kick that clocked Zigger before nailing him with the Stomp to get the pin.

Rollins is now a two-time Intercontinental champion while putting an end to Ziggler’s latest reign. Considering the heat between these two superstars — now with Ambrose also back in the mix — it’s hard to believe we won’t see Rollins face Ziggler again in the near future.

What were your thoughts on Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler at Summerslam?

Dean Ambrose Match Being Advertised For Hell In A Cell

Ever since Dean Ambrose made his surprise return to WWE Programming with his new look, people have been speculating that the company may be planning to turn him heel at the SummerSlam PPV.

However, a latest development in the situation makes it seem like the company can hold off this turn for a while and pull the trigger on it sometime later instead.

AT&T Center is now advertising a tag match between Ambrose and his tag team partner Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler and his tag team partner Drew McIntyre for the upcoming Hell In A Cell event.

If this advertisement is true then it will mean that Ambrose will stick by Rollins’ side until  at least the PPV instead of turning on his Shield Brother in near future.

It’s worth mentioning here that the arena has previously also advertised matches such as Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns, Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton and Samoa Joe vs. WWE Champion AJ Styles for the upcoming show.

Now it’d be interesting to see which one of these advertised bouts actually take place and if any of them end up being contested inside the Hell In A Cell.

Hell In A Cell takes place on September 16 from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

WWE Teasing New Ring Gear For Dean Ambrose?

Dean Ambrose returned to WWE Programming this past Monday Night and one of the most notable things about the Lunatic Fringe’s return was his new look.

A latest Instagram post from WWE, however, make it seem like his hair style is not the only change the company has decided to make and Ambrose will also be using a new ring gear for his matches.

In the post as seen below, the former WWE Champion is seen without a shirt. The caption reading ‘new look, same lunatic’ has fans buzzing about Ambrose possibly abandoning his old ring gear in favor of this one:

Dean Ambrose returned to WWE television at the conclusion of Monday’s RAW after nearly 9 months on the shelf due to injury.

He came out during the final segment of the show and then Ambrose helped his Shield Brother Seth Rollins in taking out the duo of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.

However, this wasn’t the last of Dean people saw on the night as he made his in-ring return in a big 8 men tag match after the show went off air.

The former WWE Champion teamed up with Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and Finn Balor to face the team of the Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens The finish of the match saw Rollins, Strowman, and Balor all hitting their finishing maneuvers to their respective SummerSlam opponents. Dean Ambrose Returns From Injury

Ambrose has been out of action since late 2017 when he underwent surgery to repair a high-grade triceps tendon. The surgery took place in December, but the arm injury reportedly took place at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view event back on October 22nd. At TLC, Ambrose took a bump on a table that didn’t break. Following the match, his right arm immediately swelled up. While Ambrose didn’t take any time off and continued to work through the pain, things got worse over time.

WWE originally stated Ambrose would be out nine months at the time of his surgery been announced. Since then, Ambrose had been spotted regularly in Birmingham, Alabama rehabbing the injury and later at the WWE Performance Center in June in advance of his return.

Seth Rollins Calls Dean Ambrose’s Injury “A Blessing In Disguise For My Singles Career.”

Since Dean Ambrose has been sidelined with an injury, Seth Rollins has seriously flourished in WWE.

Ambrose has been out-of-action since late last year with a tricep injury. In his absence, Seth Rollins has been taking on a big role on Monday Night RAW. Rollins has been used frequently in the Intercontinental Title picture.

“The Architect” had an amazing year with WWE. He won the RAW Tag Team Titles with Jason Jordan. Next he won the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 34 in a Fatal Four Way match. Rollins had one of the most impressive performances of the year in a Gauntlet match on RAW earlier this year as well.

Not to mention consistently putting on great matches whenever he takes to the squared circle. Rollins recently spoke to The South China Morning News during WWE’s visit to Shanghai.

In regards to Ambrose’s injury, Rollins calls it “a blessing in disguise for my singles career”:

“Not that I would wish injury on Ambrose at all, but that was something that lit a fire underneath me. It’s definitely been a blessing in disguise for my singles career.”

A Great Year With WWE

Rollins is a candidate for Superstar Of The Year thus far, but admits that SmackDown Live’s WWE Champion AJ Styles isn’t too far behind him:

“Yeah, it’s been a really good year for me. Honestly, you look at my body of work from SummerSlam last year to SummerSlam this year – I really don’t think there’s anybody on the main roster, aside from an AJ Styles give or take, that can compare with what I’ve done.

“From winning the tag team titles, to winning the Intercontinental title at Mania, to the gauntlet match performance on Raw, to some of the matches I’ve been a part of the last six months, nobody can hold a candle to what I’ve done in the ring. I definitely feel I’m back on top for sure.”
