– WWE broadcaster Renee Young, who was not officially assigned to a brand following last week’s WWE Draft, says she will be appearing exclusively on SmackDown. In response to a question on Twitter asking where we can see her post-Draft, she responded:
https://twitter.com/ReneeYoungWWE/status/757598129331908609
Young is dating WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, who is also on SmackDown.
– Speaking of Ambrose, WWE has posted this behind-the-scenes look at him getting ready for his match at Battleground last night.
– WWE announced 15,109 fans in attendance from the sold-out Verizon Center for tonight’s PPV.
– Last night at Battleground, we got some more insight to how WWE is going to handle the WWE Championship situation as it pertains to the two brands. The announcers played up that the main event would determine which brand would have possession of the coveted title, with Ambrose retaining and keeping it exclusively on SmackDown. WWE showed the RAW and SmackDown locker rooms back stage watching to see who would win the main event and the SmackDown roster (babyfaces & heels) came to the ring to celebrate with Ambrose after his big win. It’s still very likely that WWE will introduce a second world title belt, as Vince McMahon has historically wanted the live events of both brands to feature a world title.
– After Bayley debuted to be Sasha Banks’ mystery partner for the win over Dana Brooke and Charlotte at Battleground, Triple H congratulated them with this tweet:
Sometimes the fiercest rivals make the best partners… Congratulations @SashaBanksWWE and @itsBayleyWWE #WWEBattleground

– TMZ reports that Sunny has contacted the producers of reality show “Botched” as she looks to get her nose repaired. Sunny told TMZ that her nose has been broken nine times and years ago, after the third break, she had surgery but now it’s worse. Her nose is so bad that there’s “nasty scar tissue build up” that has caused “weird bumps” on the bridge of her nose. She also mentioned possibly getting liposuction because of belly issues she’s had since having surgery for cervical cancer.
– It’s now confirmed that Simon Gotch was given time off due to the backstage fight at SmackDown with Sin Cara. As noted, Cara pretty much destroyed Gotch in the one-sided fight from last Tuesday afternoon. PWInsider reports that Gotch is not scheduled for this week’s WWE TV tapings but he’s set to return to the road next week.

In light of the controversial finish to last night’s WWE Championship match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon has announced a rematch for tonight’s SmackDown Live premiere.
RAW went off the air with Rollins celebrating an apparent title win. Cameras kept rolling and fans who tuned into the WWE Network saw Lilian Garcia announce the referee reviewed footage of the finish, saw both men had their shoulders down and declared the match a draw. As a result, Dean Ambrose retained the WWE Championship.
With WWE now referring to Ambrose’s title as simply the WWE Championship and reports that WWE will be introducing another top championship for SmackDown, this appears to be the start of that process.
Tune in to SmackDown Live tonight on the USA Network at 8pm EST for the next chapter in this ongoing story.
It was announced on the WWE Network after RAW that Dean Ambrose is still the WWE Champion and will go into the match with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at Battleground with the title.
RAW ended with Rollins celebrating his title win after a screwy finish to their main event match. Lilian Garcia then announced on the WWE Network that after reviewing a tape, the referee ruled that both men had their shoulders down and the match ended in a draw.
With WWE dropping “World Heavyweight” from the official title of Ambrose’s WWE Championship and reports over the past several weeks that WWE will be introducing another top belt for SmackDown, this appears to be the start of that process.
– Kevin Owens will main event Madison Square Garden for the first time this Saturday night. He has been added to the WWE Title main event with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Aside from the fallout from Monday’s RAW and at least one more match being added to BattleGround, no other segments have been announced for this week’s show. The dark match main event being advertised locally is a six-man tag battle featuring Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and The Miz. Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt are both advertised to appear.
As always, we’ll have live play-by-play spoiler results and photos from tonight’s SmackDown taping.

– Below are new WWE Swerved extras with R-Truth and Dean Ambrose:
– Monday’s RAW gave us a few glimpses at what to expect once the WWE Draft and subsequent brand split take place in just a matter of weeks. WWE recently brought back several “General Managers” who have run RAW and SmackDown in the past, but we now know that the new authority figures will be referred to as Chief Operating Officers (COO’s).
Additionally, we got another indication that WWE will in fact be re-introducing a second world championship next month. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose was referred to as simply the WWE Champion by announcers and graphics on the show, so it looks like the World Heavyweight championship could be making a return soon.
– As seen below, two members of the WWE Universe got engaged at last night’s RAW in Tampa:
Some of the fallout from Roman Reigns’ 30-days suspension from WWE for his first wellness policy violation is just now coming to light. Several last-minute changes had to be made to the advertising and lineups for weekend’s WWE live events, and it looks like Dean Ambrose will be pulling double duty on Sunday to fill in for Reigns.
Ambrose is now scheduled to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Seth Rollins on both Saturday at the TD Garden in Boston and Sunday at the Amway Center in Orlando, and then again on Sunday at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena against both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Ambrose will be working one show on Sunday and then traveling directly to the other for another match. Jacksonville is about a two-hour drive from Orlando.
As noted this week, Reigns was suspended by the company for 30 days for failing a drug test prior to Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
The new main event for the 7/16 WWE house show from Madison Square Garden is Seth Rollins vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose, replacing the suspended Roman Reigns.
Neville vs. Chris Jericho in a NYC Street Fight and John Cena vs. AJ Styles is also set for that NYC show. Zack Ryder, Ric Flair and Charlotte have been pulled while The New Day, The Club, Apollo Crews, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Kevin Owens, Becky Lynch and Natalya are still advertised.
On a related note, Reigns will obviously no longer be working the July WWE house shows in Tokyo, Japan. Ambrose has been added to those live events, likely replacing Reigns.
WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic tournament kicks off tonight with the first set of tapings from Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University. The 10-week tournament premieres on the WWE Network Wednesday, July 13th. The show will feature 32 of the top Cruiserweight wrestlers from around the world, with a live two-hour finale scheduled for Wednesday, September 14.
Check back later tonight for Spoiler Results of the first set of tapings.
Earlier this week, WWE held weigh-ins for the tournament and we’re told the 205 weight limit is legitimate. WWE had several wrestlers on hand as fill-ins in case anybody missed weight and we’re told one performer actually didn’t make the cut and will be replaced.
WWE has published a video of Cruiserweight Classic host Daniel talking about the tournament, including participants like Kota Ibushi, Zack Sabre Jr. and Drew Gulak. Bryan also gives his pick for who he thinks will win the tournament.

Dean Ambrose will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Title against former Shield partners Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match at WWE’s upcoming Battleground pay-per-view. The match was made by Shane McMahon after Reigns and Rollins fought to a no-contest in the main event of Monday’s RAW.
Battleground takes place on 7/24 from the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. The show will be the first WWE pay-per-view of the new split brand era.
Discussion: What do you think about WWE going with the Shield triple threat so soon? Should they have kept them apart and saved this for a WrestleMania main event, or was it the right time for this marquee match?

– AJ Styles is out to address last night’s controversial victory over John Cena. He says he’s not happy that Gallows and Anderson interfered, and with that, The Club comes out to the ring. They say they were just trying to help, but AJ says they need to look him in the eyes and apologize. They apologize to him, but then AJ says they need to apologize to Cena too. Cena comes out and says he doesn’t need an apology, and he’s not happy AJ broke their contract. Gallows and Anderson apologize to Cena anyways. Cena says AJ isn’t as good as he says he is, and AJ throws it back at him. AJ tells Cena he can fight anyone in The Club tonight except for AJ. John says it doesn’t matter which he picks, because the other two will run in anyways. AJ says nobody likes Cena because he always thinks he’s right, but he’s wrong. AJ says Anderson will fight Cena one on one tonight.
– John Cena def. Karl Anderson via DQ: Cena gets in all the offence in the opening moments, and keeps looking over his shoulder for AJ and Gallows. Cena hits a side suplex and the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Paige gets out of a Figure 8 attempt and hits the Rampage, but Dana Brooke breaks up the pin. Charlotte hits the Natural Slection on a distracted Paige for the win. They beat down Paige after the match until Sasha Banks comes out for the save. Sasha hits the Banks Statement on Charlotte and Paige helps her clear the ring.
– Bray Wyatt has returned. The Wyatt Family comes out and Bray starts cutting a promo about his absence, but he is very quickly interrupted by The New Day. The New Day cracks some jokes at the Wyatt Family’s expense, and Bray is not pleased that he was interrupted. Bray says he sees The New Day’s future and they will fall.

Ambrose celebrates in the ring with his World Heavyweight Title as RAW goes off the air.

Tonight’s WWE RAW takes place from Tucson, AZ and will of course feature fallout from last night’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
WWE.com’s weekly 5-point preview focuses on the following items:
As always, join us here tonight for our weekly Live Coverage of WWE RAW.
Dean Ambrose spoke with Tom Phillips backstage at Money in the Bank last night after capturing his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Ambrose says the title is for those who stuck with him but the ones that tried to write him off can kiss his ass.
In recent weeks we’ve covered the situation of whether the Money in the Bank ladder match would feature 6 or 7 participants, since WWE initially advertised 7 before settling on 6 and never officially addressed it. As it turns out, the following graphic aired on WWE’s “This Week In WWE” show, so Kalisto was in fact intended to be the 7th man.
