The event takes place Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Impact! Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida.

Kent News in Great Britain features an article on Desmond Wolfe noting that during his absence from the squared ring, he’s kept himself busy developing a television sitcom.

He said, “The sitcom was based on an idea a friend had. It’s about a kid from Brixton in south London who gets forced to take a job doing meals on wheels in Brixham, Devon. I’m ready to pitch it if there’s any interest. I’m also acting in a community theatre play called Everybody Loves Opal, which was first performed on Broadway in the 1960s.”

  • Sexual Harassment Suit Filed Against TNA, Magnus On Wolfe

    — Randy Ricci, a former production manager for TNA Wrestling, reports that a sexual harassment lawsuit has been filed against the organization.

While specifics of the case have yet to be disclosed, Ricci states that Terry Taylor, TNA’s Director of Talent Relations, was named in the suit.

Ricci added, “It should be noted as well that if Terry has done anything or not, with his past, it won’t turn out well for he or the company.”

    — Magnus was asked on Twitter if former tag team partner Desmond Wolfe is retiring from the squared circle. He replied, “I hope not.”

Randy Ricci claimed in a blog post last Friday that Wolfe has been kept out of the ring in recent months because he has Hepatitis C. He said that Wolfe is being offered an office job, which would indicate that his wrestling career is over.

  • Former TNA Employee Claims Desmond Wolfe Has Hepatitis C

Randy Ricci, a former production manager for TNA Wrestling, claimed in a blog post on Friday that the reason Desmond Wolfe has not been wrestling in recent months is because he has Hepatitis C—a viral disease that leads to inflammation of the liver.

Ricci adds that the former ROH World Champion will be offered an office job.

Wolfe last wrestled for the organization in August. He and Magnus were scheduled to receive a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Motor City Machine Guns at No Surrender, but were pulled from the event at the last minute, with TNA citing a “personal issue” as the reason. It was later reported that Wolfe was pulled from the event due to an undisclosed medical situation that would sideline him indefinitely.

Hulk Hogan is the only TNA Wrestling employee to publicly address Wolfe’s status with the organization. When asked recently on Twitter about Wolfe returning to television, Hogan responded, “Desmond’s situation is beyond TNA’s control, the ball is completely in his court.”

  • Update On Desmond Wolfe, Shimmer Wrestler Receives Tryout

    — Hulk Hogan addressed Desmond Wolfe’s status with TNA Wrestling last week on Twitter, writing, “Desmond’s situation is beyond TNA’s control, the ball is completely in his court.” However, the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates otherwise.

Wolfe was scheduled to reform his partnership with Magnus late last year, but Douglas Williams was given the spot instead. Company officials have had plans for the former ROH World Champion to return, including this week, but they have yet to materialize.

Wolfe is currently appearing for various community theaters in Central Florida and working on writing projects.

  • Hulk Hogan Comments On Desmond Wolfe’s TNA Status

Hulk Hogan addressed Desmond Wolfe’s status with TNA Wrestling Friday on his Twitter account.

When asked when fans can expect Wolfe to return to television, Hogan responded, “Desmond’s situation is beyond TNA’s control, the ball is completely in his court.”

Wolfe and Magnus were scheduled to face Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin for the TNA World Tag Team Championship at No Surrender, but were pulled from the event at the last minute, with the organization citing a “personal issue” as the reason. The Pro Wrestling Torch reported that according to multiple sources within TNA, Wolfe was pulled from the pay-per-view event due to concerns with concussion side effects.

His on-screen absence was explained by Magnus, who claimed that in an attempt to become a dual athlete, Wolfe had traveled to London to tryout for Chelsea F.C.

Company president Dixie Carter announced on November 21, 2010 that Wolfe would be returning to television. On the December 16, 2010 edition of iMPACT!, Magnus met his former tag team partner Douglas Williams and informed him that Wolfe would be returning soon, while also telling him that they had gotten rid of Chelsea. Wolfe made his return in a non–televised segment at the December 10, 2010 iMPACT! taping when he and Magnus saved Douglas Williams from Fortune members AJ Styles and Rob Terry. The segment, however, did not air on the January 6, 2011 iMPACT telecast. Wolfe has not appeared for the organization since then.

  • TNA Officials Down On Wolfe & Morgan, High On Two Tag Teams

    source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

    — Those within TNA suggest Desmond Wolfe is currently in the doghouse. The British wrestling star has developed a reputation for being difficult to work with, which has affected his push in the organization.

Company officials are also down on Matt Morgan, who has been discussed as being part of Ric Flair’s Fortune group. Hernandez’ two botched Border toss attempts during their Steel Cage bout at Victory Road were blamed on “The Blueprint” since Hernandez is a favorite among management.

  • Hogan-Dixie TNA Storyline, Angle High On Wolfe, Drug Testing

    – We’ve got some new details regarding a storyline that’s already underway involving Hulk Hogan’s involvement with TNA Wrestling. The original plan was for Hulk Hogan to lead the younger, homegrown stars of TNA against the “old guard” of established WWE & WCW castoffs, led by TNA president Dixie Carter. Hulk Hogan’s recent comments that he’ll be “in charge” of TNA are all part of the storyline (Hogan will have a great deal of power in TNA, but his comments are the start of this angle). Dixie Carter was going to be a big player in the “Hulk Hogan joins TNA” angle, but there was a recent decision to cut back on Dixie’s role and have Mick Foley is now expected to be the leader of TNA’s “old guard” movement. Dixie Carter will still be involved, but will not have the same role as originally planned.

    – Kurt Angle is said to have a high opinion of TNA newcomer Desmond Wolfe following their pay-per-view match last month. Angle actually laid the entire match out but claimed that after his back went out in the first minute they had to change plans and work on the fly until the finish.

    – TNA held surprise drug testings at the last set of TV tapings. The last set of tapings like this had a 25% failure rate but nobody was punished.

    – The four-hour TNA special on New Year’s Eve on Spike TV will air from 7-11PM. The first two hours will be a countdown with the ten best matches of 2009, as voted on by the fans on TNA’s website. The last two hours will be a regular edition of iMPACT.

  • Video Of Desmond Wolfe’s TNA Debut From iMPACT!

TNA Wrestling has posted a video of Desmond Wolfe’s debut from iMPACT! where he attacked Kurt Angle.

Angle and Wolfe will wrestle next week on iMPACT!

In case you missed the debut, check it out below:

  • Desmond Wolfe Talks About His TNA Debut, WWE & More

TNA Wrestling’s newest star Desmond Wolfe, formerly Nigel McGuiness in Ring of Honor, spoke to the  UK’s Daily Star this week and talked about where his new ring name came from, feuding with Kurt Angle and more. You can read the entire interview at DailyStar.co.uk. Some highlights:

Where the name Desmond Wolfe came from: “Everyone is asking me where I got the name from – someone said Withnail and I – but Vince said he did an internet search of the most popular British names and came up with Desmond Wolfe!”

Kurt Angle Being His First TNA Feud: “Who gets the opportunity to come in on their first day and beat up Angle, I mean that’s huge! Kurt has been great, just like everyone else – he’s really open to ideas. I said this in the pub the other night – if you’d have told me that I would be working Angle three weeks ago – I would have laughed, I guess that’s one of the wonderful things about life in general that it can happen – one door closes and another one opens.  Talking to Kurt, well, just look at the guys he’s worked with; it’s a who’s who of legends. Austin, Rock – that’s the level he is at, and it can only benefit me.”

Whether he went to TNA because he failed a WWE medical screening: “I had a clean bill of health from my orthopedic guy and my local doctor, so it’s not about that. I don’t hold against anything against them, it was a business decision, and  they were only doing what they think is best for them.”

While he denies that the WWE deal fell through due to him failing a physical, he did not say what the reason was beyond the fact that it was a “business decision.”
