The WWE has posted a new video of 2017 Hall of Famers Teddy Long, Beth Phoenix, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Diamond Dallas Page and Kurt Angle receiving their rings from Triple H and Vince McMahon. Rick Rude’s family also received a Hall of Fame ring.
The WWE also uploaded a new 360 interview with Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle. Bryan and Angle debated what would happen if a dream match were to take place between the two.
Bayley posted a photo of her and Scott Hall earlier today. Bayley was wearing a classic Razor Ramon jacket.
2017 WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page was a guest on the Ring Rust Radio show this week. Here are some highlights of the interview, sent in by host Donald Wood:
Who he wants to induct him and how much say he has in his inductee:
“It’s so funny because I have experience with this because I inducted Jake. It’s like who else was going to induct him besides me? Of course, they are going to ask me. So, I just think it’s done. Then about a month later, I get the call from Mark Carano and he tells me he has great news and they want me to induct Jake. It hit me like a slap in the face. I thought, oh that’s right, it’s their TV. No one gets up and gets 10-plus minutes to talk on their TV unless they really want you on their TV. I realized Jake really didn’t have a choice here. Jake did the same thing I did, I gave them a short list.
There are four guys that are on that list and they are going to pick who they want. Again, it’s their TV and anyone of those four guys as far as I’m concerned could be in that spot. Two of them were the names you just mentioned. It was just such a honor to induct Jake. It was on my 58th birthday and I got to induct Jake. People used to say to us before we got that spot, “Dude when is Jake’s movie coming out?” I would say I don’t know, when is Jake going to be in the Hall of Fame? There was no other way for the movie to end. It was awesome being in the CAC, Cauliflower Alley Club, and I’m in there too so it was awesome. There’s the WWE, there are 147 guys in there, and think about how many wrestlers there have been? There have been thousands and thousands of wrestlers and 147 of them are in there. There are still guys that I know that should be in there and hopefully they’ll get that opportunity too.”
Joining DDP Yoga students Jake Roberts & Scott Hall in the Hall of Fame:
“It’s a huge honor. Once I got done with my career, I knew in my soul that I don’t have any negative thoughts about myself. I just don’t because I know you say you can and you say can’t, you are right. I try to keep my mind full of really positive stuff. In my mind, I always felt like I was worthy. I really felt like with my career and just the way I did it, it was Hall of Fame worthy. It doesn’t make me feel any less humble. I’m super honored to be a part of this crew, and the first one to call me was Booker T when he heard. Booker T and I have been up and down the road together, and it was really awesome to hear it from him and he said welcome to the club brother.”
As he thinks about writing his Hall of Fame speech, are there any specific people or moments from the business that immediately jump to mind that he’s excited to share with fans?
“I have to finish that because I always say without Dusty Rhodes there is no Diamond Dallas Page. Certainly, without Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, there is no three-time world champion. There is no WWE Hall of Famer. It just never happens. There are little things that have happened. Man, if you knew how hard I worked on this. I finally got it, I don’t want to be too long, but I just can’t be too short. I have a story to tell and I want to thank a lot of people. It goes right down to my first break. I’m so happy that when I got the call in October, I’ve had four months and I literally just finished it. It’s not done, but the outline is done. You can tell I am a long storyteller. You can’t be a long storyteller and get all your stuff in.
I’m not sitting in Kurt Angle’s spot where I have an hour to get all my stuff in because I am the main event. Kurt deserves that spot as far as I’m concerned. He was unbelievable and I’m super honored to be in the same class as him. Guys like Teddy Long. I know Teddy’s whole career. Teddy was a trailblazer in a big way. So, to have him and the Rock ‘n Roll express. Beth Phoenix too who I love. I texted her and said the first family of Hall of Fame. I put that out there and that was the biggest retweets I ever got. I just thought like wow, they are the first two who are husband and wife and are Hall of Famer’s. Those two people Adam and Beth, are the two nicest people you have ever met. I was super happy that she’s in there. The outer rumblings, I haven’t heard for sure, but I’m surely hoping that Rick Rude is on that list. I spent some time with Rude and he was an awesome man.
When would people say, DDP how do you feel that you not in the Hall of Fame? I used to say well let me see, Jake Roberts isn’t in there, Randy Macho Man Savage isn’t in there, Michael PS Hayes isn’t in there, to be perfectly honest bro, until those boys are in whom I to say anything? When those guys are in then hopefully it’ll be my turn and then boom. There some the people never heard and they’re going to be out there. That’s why it’s so important the way I structure this. The people that gave me just a little bit more like Dusty. Dusty was so pivotal to me. He had a way of making me believe in me and nobody believes in me more than me. It wasn’t when I was wrestling, it’s when I was the character Diamond Dallas Page. When he passed, and I know this cause he said it to my face, but he also said it to Cody. “I’ve got five friends in this world that I really can call my friends and I can count them on my hand, Dallas is one of them.” I knew it because he said it to me, but for Cody to say it at his memorial was strong. That’s going to be really tough for me to talk about that. I hopefully in some way get semi-numb to it, but I don’t think that’s possible.
I remember inducting Jake to the CAC, but I remember you get hit with that like boom, in the middle of your heart. I wasn’t expecting this and I’ll tell you who I really saw get hit by it was maybe one of her biggest talkers in the business was Larry Zbyszko. Larry went up there halfheartedly like thanks for this, thanks for that, because Larry is maybe the best talker ever, top 10 in the business. For guys who can just turn it on and kill it, Larry was as good as it gets as far as I’m concerned. He got overwhelmed up there and I’m expecting to. I have spoken in front of 20,000 people and I know before I walk up on that stage I will be saying over and over again that this is can be the best thing I’ve ever done, this is going to be amazing. I’m going to move people to action and I’m going to inspire somebody out there to believe in themselves. That’s the kind of shit that can be going through my head.”
DDP is known for so many things: the Diamond Cutter, his rise to the top of WCW during its hottest period, DDP Yoga and more. What’s the one lasting legacy he hopes to leave in the wrestling business?
“Anything’s possible. I am the proof. I’ll give you what I wrote on the inside of my ring. I didn’t know you put an inscription in there. When Sue asked me what I wanted to be in there, I said let me think about it. Then it just hit me. I put “Work ethic = dreams! DDP.” That to me is that no one gets a free ride. You have to work for it and it doesn’t get handed to you. It may seem like it did because people see you getting this big push at that time, but they don’t really know how hard it took you to get there.
Even someone like Goldberg who came in and got this huge push. Goldberg worked for eons on the football gridiron. This son of a gun, he worked his ass off and then he worked his ass off to be as good as he could be in the ring and he had that something special. Now everyone’s given the chance to see it again at 49 and they are not exposing him in any way. He’s going to have to deliver at WrestleMania and I believe he will. I believe he will go out there at 49 years old and be out there with The Beast. I wouldn’t want to be out there with him. Brock thinks this is real, you know? I wouldn’t want to be out there with The Beast, but if anybody can go with him and just the way Brock does business, I’m so proud of him. He gets it because it’s a business, it is entertainment. He is going out there to deliver those promos and it’s nice for the WCW fan this is a little bit of payback. Like, push one of our guys right now, really push him. Goldberg came in and as far as I’m concerned, he got what he deserved, hell of a push.”

Diamond Dallas Page is the latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017. DDP will take his rightful place in history during WrestleMania weekend on Friday, March 31st from Orlando, Florida.
Following the announcement of Page’s induction, his official YouTube channel released the following video featuring several of his longtime friends reacting to the news. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Steve Austin, Edge, Lex Luger, Ted DiBiase, Mean Gene Okerlund talk about their relationships with DDP and why he’s such a deserving candidate for the WWE HOF. The video also features reactions from a handful of everyday people whose lives have been changed by DDP Yoga.
Diamond Dallas Page has been announced as the latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame. The news was first reported by Rolling Stone.
Page was a 3-time WCW Champion and was one of the company’s top home grown stars during the Monday Night Wars. He later had a brief stint in WWE during the Invasion angle and held the now defunct European Championship. After his in ring career, DDP founded DDP Yoga, a health and wellness program that has transformed the lives of countless people, including WWE Hall of Famers Jake Roberts and Scott Hall.
DDP spoke with Rolling Stone about the induction and revealed that Triple H told broke the news to him back in October.
“We were filming Positively Living, the Diamond Dallas Page three-DVD set. I’m a Jersey boy, so I was on the Jersey Shore in my hometown, and it was the end of the day and we were filming one more thing. They handed me the phone and said, “Boss wants to talk to you.” It’s HHH.
I called him a couple weeks earlier and he hadn’t gotten back to me yet, so I thought this was that return call. So we’re talking about casual stuff, and then I start to hear him talk about my career and where I’ve been and how I got here, and then it hits me – is this that call? I’m not a guy who has trouble talking, but I couldn’t talk. Tears are running down the sides of my cheeks and I just said, ‘Bro, I love you man.'”
DDP joins Teddy Long, The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and headliner Kurt Angle as confirmed inductees for this year.
– The release date for WWE’s upcoming “Diamond Dallas Page: Positively Living” DVD has been moved from March 21st to April 4th, the day after WrestleMania. DDP is rumored for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.
– Ric Flair recently asked his followers what the phrase “lit” means and got a response from the official @Twitter account.
– Referee Charles Robinson was injured during Sunday night’s Royal Rumble match between John Cena and AJ Styles. The foot injury will bench the official, but Robinson pledged to be back in the ring for February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page is scheduled to be announced for the 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame class soon, according to a report by PWInsider.
There’s been no word yet on other confirmed names for this year’s class but it was also noted that DDP does not appear to be the headliner.
The 2017 HOF ceremony takes place on 4/1 from the Amway Center in Orlando.
– We reported before that WWE will release “Diamond Dallas Page – Positively Living” on DVD and Bl-ray next March. WrestlingDVDNetwork.com reports that stars interviewed for the Home Video release include DDP himself, Mick Foley, Eric Bischoff, Scott Hall and Kimberly Page. They could not confirm if that is the former WCW Nitro Girl and Page’s ex-wife or his daughter with the same name.
A documentary has also been confirmed for the set. WWE cameras recently filmed at a DDPYOGA workshop in New Jersey and filmed DDP with Hall at the DDPYOGA Performance Center near Atlanta. The set will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at the DDPYOGA Performance Center and never-before-seen DDP tryout footage, which could be from his AWA days or when he had a WWE tryout as an announcer.
– Tyler Breeze and Fandango have found each other backstage at tonight’s SmackDown in Denver, as seen below. Last week WWE posted a video where Fandango was missing. This week the two were reunited and it appears we will see Breezango on tonight’s live SmackDown.
– As previously noted, WWE is producing a new DVD & Blu-ray set about Diamond Dallas Page. The set about the former WCW, WWE, and TNA star will be released in January 2017, according to Wrestling DVD Network, and will be titled Diamond Dallas Page – Positively Living. The set will focus on Page’s in-ring career, all the way to his yoga career and role in the rehabilitation of Jake Roberts and Scott Hall. The set is expected to include lots of new interview footage.
– From the ‘where are they now’ file: Former WWE and WCW star Torrie Wilson is still doing fitness modeling, and she’ll be gracing the cover of the next issue of MAX Sports & Fitness magazine. She posted the below photo of the cover on her Twitter:
– Nielsen ranked RAW #1 in their Twitter rankings for Monday Night. The show had 133,000 Tweets, which is slightly down from last week’s 140,000 Tweets. The 133,000 Tweets came from 31,000 unique authors.
Former WCW mega-star Bill Goldberg recently spoke with Sportstown Chicago to promote his new film, “Checkpoint.” During the interview, Goldberg spoke about his match against Diamond Dallas Page at WCW’s Halloween Havoc 1998 pay-per-view and how DDP had a lot to do with the success he had in his pro wrestling career. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On if he agrees that his match with DDP at Halloween Havoc 1998 was one of the best of his career:
“Absolutely. And I agree to that because of who my dance partner was. And it was Dallas Page.”
On DDP having a lot to do with the success of his wrestling career:
“Dallas had a lot to do with the success of my career. When he approached me with a 14-page wrestling match, I was a bit indifferent. You just got to wrangle Dallas a little bit. He’s very enthusiastic, he’s got a very creative mind.”
On why the DDP match at Halloween Havoc 1998 was so special:
“I obviously never replicated a match like that because I never had a main event like that with Dallas again and that should show you and tell you who was responsible for that match. Obviously it takes two to tango but I was absolutely honored to take part in a monumental match with Dallas. It was awesome, it really was. There’s no doubt it was the best match of my career.”
Diamond Dallas Page recently spoke with Chris Featherstone for the Pancakes And Powerslams Show about his thoughts on The Rock, an idea for a “People’s Champion” angle and more. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his idea for an angle with The Rock since they both had the “People’s Champion” moniker:
“First of all: I am the biggest Rock fan on the planet,” DDP said. “I love that he is the biggest star in the world right now, because he’s one of us. I met him in either 1999 or 2000. [He and Big Show] were wrestling in Canada, and we had a pay per view in Canada the night earlier. I went to the show, which nobody ever did. No one ever goes to the other guy’s show in WCW or [WWE], unless you were looking for a job. I wasn’t looking for a job. I just signed a multi-million dollar deal, so I wasn’t going anywhere. After the show, me and [Big Show] were getting ready to leave the building and he goes, ‘Do you want to meet The Rock?’ I said, ‘Sure. I’d love to.’ So we walked in the locker room and The Rock was there. We had a great talk. [He is] very humble. Rock has the ability to make you feel like you’re the only person in the room.
“I was quite a step or two over him, at that time, but Jake told me to keep an eye out on him, because is gonna be a huge star in our business; and that was when he was booked as Rocky Maivia in 1996. He said that this gimmick that he has right now is lame, but at some point he is going to break away from this and become a huge star. So I told Rock that story, and I said I’ve really been watching your career, and I love what’s happening with it, especially now. We shook hands, and as we were walking out, almost halfway down the hallway I hear, ‘Hey Diamond.’ Big Show gets out of my way, and I see him in the far corner of that locker room. He says to me – and I can see he’s rolling in the character – ‘Ya know, there’s only one People’s Champion.’ Big Show just about blew his guts out, he laughed so hard. I just stared at him. And I bet you I didn’t say anything for 15 seconds. And I said, ‘You know, Rock? You’re right. And you, my friend? Well, you’re looking at him!’ [Big] Show went, ‘Oh my God, you stuffed him! Nobody stuffs him!'”
On how that exchange inspired him to propose an idea for his WWE debut to his then-wife Kimberly Page:
“I woke her up and made her listen to me talk about how I was going to debut in the [WWE]. This isn’t now, but I am going to work a WrestleMania. I am going to end my career in the WWE. That’s just the way it is. I’ve never seen it any other way. I said here’s what’s gonna happen: they’re gonna cut all the lights in the building, and everybody is going to be for sure that it’s [Chris] Jericho. But it’s gonna go 15, 20, 30 seconds, no one says anything, people are grumbling. Jim Ross is saying ‘Hold on! Don’t change the channel. We’ve got some technical difficulties!’ And then, for the first time ever in a [WWE] arena, you hear my voice. Blacked out building. ‘Who’s the real “People’s Champion”‘? Spotlight hits me. ‘You’re lookin’ at him.’ Throw up the diamond cutter. Bang. I would have got boos, I would have got cheers out the building. Rock’s gonna be hurt, he’s gonna be out, so he can’t answer my challenge. But that’s how it’s gonna be. I’ll go to the ring, I’ll cut this promo on him and go on a rant until he gets there. Then we’ll start our promos. They’ll be unbelievable!”
