  • Janice Carter’s Memo Denying TNA Being For Sale Leaks Online

As reported last week, Panda Energy’s Chairman of the Board, Janice Carter (mother of TNA President Dixie Carter) issued a memo to TNA staff refuting reports that TNA is for sale. The memo has leaked online and can be viewed here:

    October 31, 2013

    Dear Staff,

As we embark on our “Where Action Never Ends” 365 initiative, I wanted to take this time to thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm to your company’s renewed creative direction. I feel confident that, together, we are marching towards something great – a revolutionary way to experience professional wrestling.

With this said, I am aware of the false rumors currently circulating that The Carter Family and Panda Energy is attempting to sell their ownership stakes in TNA Wrestling. An unfortunate aspect of this business is that there are wrestling “reporters” who consistently post “news stories” without proper facts. I want to assure you that these are just rumors and I am committed to TNA and its future.

While I typically find that responding to such rumors is a waste of time, I wanted to use this as a moment to express my support and delight for the creative direction we are moving in. Our work has just begun and I look forward to a long and rewarding future with you and TNA.

    Warm Regards,

    Janice Carter
    Chairman of the Board

There is no reason to comment on rumors. Billy is completely focused on Resistance Pro’s upcoming 2nd anniversary [show on Nov. 23].”

The Newsday article also quoted Panda Energy executive Janice Carter, who is the mother of current TNA president Dixie Carter, from the memo she sent out to TNA employees. Carter wrote the following in the memo:

“An unfortunate aspect of this business is that there are wrestling ‘reporters’ who consistently post ‘news stories’ without proper facts. I want to assure you these are just rumors and that I am committed to TNA and its future.”

  • Update On The Carter Family Looking To Sell TNA

Brian Elliot, editor of the Fighting Spirit Magazine in the United Kingdom, recently spoke to the WrestlingNewsSource.com website about the Carter family looking to sell TNA.

Here is an excerpt of what Elliot had to say:

“The Carter family has been open to receiving offers for TNA for several months. There are a select number of business people on the inside to whom this has been made clear. You have to understand that it’s not like the company is going to be listed on eBay; keeping the fact that they are open to selling TNA to a small number of potentially interested parties keeps the price that the Carters can get for it at a much higher level than if they went public that the company was for sale.

If someone does make a bid, that information will then be leaked in certain quarters, in the hope of starting a bidding war that would raise the price further. Like with Fusient Media’s attempted purchase of WCW, if someone comes in with a bid, we’ll soon know about it.”

One report claims that some of the people interested in buying TNA from the Carter’s include Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, Viacom and possibly even World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

We should have more details on this breaking story on Monday morning.

We’ve been able to iron it out. Hogan is not under contract right now, but I have a feeling he will be back. I don’t know when. He’s an icon, he’s a guy that has done so much for wrestling you always want him under contract, even if he can’t wrestle anymore.”

  • Hulk Hogan Does Promotional Interview For This Week’s Impact Wrestling Taping

Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who “quit” TNA on last week’s taped edition of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV, recently did a promotional interview for this week’s TNA television taping in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While Hogan mentioned that he may not be at the taping this week, it is a bit curious when stepping outside of the storylines and analyzing the real-life contract situation with Hogan and TNA, considering the fact that Hogan’s contract reportedly expired on October 1st, and he is still promoting future TNA events.

Hogan, who played up his television feud with company president Dixie Carter, told the Tulsa World recently, “I think Dixie has flipped the switch or something, she’s off on a tangent here.”

Additionally, Hogan spoke as if he is still part of the behind-the-scenes effort to build the current TNA television product by saying, “It’s an artform and a lot of the artform has been lost because the TV demands that things happen fast and get out of the ring. So we’re trying to make wrestling how it should be.”

  • History Of Hogan & Dixie’s Rocky Relationship, TNA “Ethan” Promo Video, Brooke

    – Thursday’s taped episode of Impact Wrestling will feature another face-to-face confrontation between Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter in what could be Hogan’s final appearance for the promotion. To hype the angle, the official TNA website has published a “video history” of Hulk & Dixie’s rocky on-air relationship. [View Here]

Since this week’s Impact Wrestling episode is all about Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter facing off in the ring, TNA’s website has been pushing a lot of videos about their past together to build to the angle, which may end up being Hogan’s final appearance for the company.

    – Former TNA performer Brooke Hogan was recently interviewed by Athens Online and said she’s been in Athens, GA to film a” paranormal reality series” called, Weird America.

“I’m actually personally interested in this show because I have a little bit of history with a psychic background, kind of a sixth sense-type thing,” Hogan said. “I’ve had a few different experiences in my life that have made me a little bit more curious, and I want to find out more about it.”

She also mentioned that she’s been in Nashville, Tennessee recording new music.

    – TNA has published the following video hyping that “Ethan” is coming to Impact Wrestling:

There is some speculation that the Ethan that’s coming to TNA is independent wrestler Ethan HD, who wrestles for Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. While we can’t confirm that Ethan HD is headed to TNA, he’s certainly playing into the rumors. Last Thursday, the night the first “Ethan Is Coming” video aired on TNA Impact Wrestling, Ethan HD tweeted:

“…and I’m just sittin’ here whistlin’ Dixie.”

  • Spoiler: More Details On Major TNA Name Possibly Leaving The Company

As previously reported, Hulk Hogan may have been written off of TNA television during the tapings for next week’s edition of Impact Wrestling, which were filmed on Thursday night in Little Rock, Arkansas.

For those who missed it, the main event angle for next week’s show will see Hulk Hogan respond to the ultimatum given to him by Dixie Carter on this week’s live Impact Wrestling broadcast. Hogan ultimately “quits the company,” with Dixie on her knees begging him to stay as the show goes off the air.

According to one source, this could be an attempt by TNA to simply swerve the audience, as Hogan, whose contract is up next Tuesday, may have already signed a new deal with the company. This could be TNA’s way of milking the real-life drama going on right now in the company, with so many contracts expiring and name-talent parting ways with the promotion.

If Hogan has re-signed, the feeling is that running this angle would seem very real, due to the aforementioned situation with so many high-profile talents leaving due to the inability to come to terms with the company on new agreements.

If a new deal between Hogan and TNA has not been reached, then the angle shot on Thursday’s television tapings will in fact be Hogan’s swansong.

  • Backstage Update On AJ Styles’ Future, WWE Has Little Interest In Him

As we have reported in the past, AJ Styles’ current, short-term deal with TNA is set to expire in December. According to the latest reports, it appears highly unlikely that “The Phenomenal One” will end up in WWE after his short-term TNA deal expires. According to one source, there appears to be very little interest from the WWE side in signing the 36-year-old former TNA World Champion.

One person in-the-know in WWE went as far as saying there is “far less interest in AJ from the WWE side than a normal, rational person would think.”

As many saw on last week’s Impact Wrestling, Styles has entered into a new storyline with the now storyline heel president of TNA, Dixie Carter, where he claims to be currently working without a contract. As noted, that is untrue, as Styles re-signed the aforementioned short-term deal with TNA which gets them through December. Where Styles will end up by the time that deal expires remains to be seen.
