Unsealed Billy Corgan Lawsuit Documents Shed Light On Why He’s Suing TNA

https://youtu.be/p_tKRMoMkk0

This afternoon, Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle of Nashville Chancery Court officially unsealed most of the filings in Billy Corgan’s lawsuit against TNA parent company Impact Ventures LLC. The only documents still hidden from public view are the initial complaint and the memorandum that Corgan filed to get a temporary restraining order against TNA. Those will be re-filed publicly on Wednesday (October 26th) with certain sections redacted, but everything else was made public today.

Of what came out today, two filings are especially noteworthy:

The restraining order is about what you’d expect: It stops TNA from “taking any action without the consent of” Corgan (like signing new contracts), as well as selling the company, its videotape library, other assets, etc. On Wednesday, there will be a hearing to determine if Corgan will get a injunction to replace the temporary restraining order.

The motion to compel discovery (or rather, the responses to previous requests attached as exhibits) is where we get the most information about the lawsuit so far. Based on the questions that Corgan asked of both Dixie Carter and Impact Ventures, as well as how they were answered, this is what appears to be going on:

  • Corgan and TNA (for the purposes of this article, TNA = all of the defendants unless otherwise noted), entered into an “equity pledge agreement.” The date of the agreement was possibly August 11th, as TNA claims to have not been insolvent since then . That was also 11 days before TNA’s debt to Anthem Sports and Entertainment was filed with the state of Tennessee.
  • If TNA defaulted/became insolvent, Corgan would be able to take over the voting rights to Dixie Carter’s shares. From there, Corgan could then “remove the managers of Impact Ventures and replace them with designees of [his] choosing,” as he would, for all intents and purposes, be the majority owner. This likely explains why Corgan loaned money personally to Dixie Carter, and, really, this was the only way that move made sense.
  • On September 29th, the Thursday before Bound For Glory, Corgan notified TNA that he was exercising his rights under the agreement because there had been “multiple events of default under the equity pledge agreement.” This was two days after Audience of One Productions sued TNA, which makes you wonder of the former tipped Corgan off. It was also the same day as Corgan’s cryptic interview on The Dan Le Batard Show, which is embedded at the top of this article. One day later, TNA’s debt to MCC Accquisitions (sister company to Anthem/Fight Network) was filed with the state of Tennessee.
  • TNA denied being insolvent, saying that “The term ‘insolvent’ is not defined in the Pledge Agreement. Under Tennessee law, an entity is insolvent only if the sum of the debtor’s debts is greater than all of the debtor’s assets, at a fair valuation. Impact Ventures’ assets are of greater value than its debt, […] There has also not been an Event of Default as that term is used in the Pledge Agreement.”
  • TNA objected to a request for all documents showing the company’s inability to pay any debts in full, “because it theoretically seeks all correspondence, financial documents, vendor invoices/statements, and other documents concerning any instance in which Impact Ventures may have been late and/or obtained an extension with regard to paying a debt in full, and any such documents are not maintained in a manner that would enable Impact Ventures to readily obtain such information[.]”

It would seem that, once TNA denied being insolvent and refused to let Corgan take over, he started preparing for the lawsuit. This ostensibly included filing Carter’s debt with the state of Tennessee on October 11th, the day before he sued. Since Carter/TNA said in sworn statements that TNA is not insolvent in spite of mounting evidence otherwise, and it would be wrong to assume that anyone is committing perjury, there’s only one logical explanation as to how that could be truthful. That would be that TNA valuing the company’s most subtantial asset, the video library, at more than Corgan thinks it’s worth.

Based on what WWE normally pays, the library is worth about $1 million, but TNA is more than $4 million in debt based on public records, which don’t include their debts to Corgan, the state of Tennessee, or any staff/performers. When you factor in that Dave Meltzer has reported that Anthem owns at least part of the video library know, it makes you wonder if they made a deal where TNA can point to a valuation of the collection at much more than $1 million. Otherwise, it doesn’t really track how TNA could not be considered insolvent right now.

Also: For what it’s worth, TNA’s income from its TV deals with Challenge TV in the U.K. and Sony Six in India would be classified as receivables and not assets.

Some other notes from the filings:

  • For the record, TNA Entertainment LLC (TNA’s old parent company) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Impact Ventures LLC (TNA’s current parent company).
  • For most, if not all of the documents Corgan asked Carter and TNA to produce, it was alleged that he already had access to them. This includes TNA’s communications with WWE in 2016. Before he filed the lawsuit, Corgan was cryptic about how he didn’t know about any such deal even though he should, so TNA’s position is interesting, to say the least.

There’s clearly a lot more to this that we still don’t know. Depending on what exactly is redacted from what is released on Wednesday, we may learn a lot more.

The Fight Network’s Parent Company Confirms ‘Working Capital Loan’ to TNA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXDHtaBVnuw

The Fight Network has issued the following statement:

Toronto – Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. (“Anthem”), the parent company of Fight Network, today confirmed that it recently made a working capital loan to fund the operations of TNA Impact Wrestling. Fight Network is a licensee of TNA programming for broadcast in the U.S., Canada and other international markets, and is also the exclusive licensee of TNA for streaming Internet-delivered TV.

Fight Network has also offered to provide TNA Impact Wrestling with funding to repay the loans made by Mr. Billy Corgan and is positioned to provide additional transitional assistance to the company.

“TNA is a strong property for Fight Network and as a licensee and global distribution partner we have a keen interest in seeing the company not only survive but continue to grow and thrive, alongside our own growth,” said Leonard Asper, CEO of Anthem. “We are hopeful that the company can soon get back to doing what it does best, which is to produce great wrestling content.”

Note that this only takes care of the debt to Corgan and not TNA’s debts to Aroluxe Media, Audience of One Productions, American Express, The Navarre Corporation, etc. But it’s a life raft that will presumably lead to the resolution of Corgan’s lawsuit.

Report: TNA Currently Several Million Dollars In Debt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7endf6T_iHA

It was extensively reported this week by David Bixenspan that TNA currently owes money to several different parties. Billy Corgan, Audience of One Productions, Aroluxe Media, Anthem Sports, and MCC Acquisitions all say TNA owes them substantial amounts of money.

According to a report from Nate Rau of the Tennessean newspaper, the total amount TNA officially owes to Aroluxe, Anthem, and MCC is listed at $3.4 million. That doesn’t include any money owed to Billy Corgan, Audience of One Productions, or the state of Tennessee.

News hit the web this week that Corgan and Audience of One Productions both filed lawsuits against the company. David Bixenpsan exclusively reported on Thursday that Dixie Carter also personally owes money to Billy Corgan, and on Friday reported that TNA is facing a tax lien in Tennessee.

Exclusive: Tennessee Strikes Back At TNA to Collect Unpaid Taxes

TNA’s financial issues are even more dire than previously thought, as unlikely as that may sound. We already knew that there are multiple lawsuits pending, a restraining order believed to be designed to stop the company from selling shares again, a dispute over music rights, and debt owed to various entities who funded the recent tapings. Yet there is still plenty of room for more.

On Friday morning, I confirmed with the Davidson County Register of Deeds that the State of Tennessee issued a tax lien against TNA Entertainment LLC about five weeks ago on September 8th. While the listing for the lien in some online databases has the debt recorded as “$0,” that is because some public record search companies misread the Register of Deeds not recording the amount of the lien.

TNA lien screenshot 09-08-16

Essentially, what this means is that TNA owes a lot of taxes to the state of Tennessee, to the point that the state now has the right to seize TNA property if the debt is not repaid. While the wrestling company is now operating under the newer Impact Ventures LLC company that was formed this year, Tennessee tax law covers successor companies. If someone actually buys the company, potential scenarios include TNA/majority owner Dixie Carter having to take a lower sale price so as to pay off the lien, or the new owners risking the scenario where Tennessee goes after them for the tax liability.

It’s up to the state whether or not to assert its rights and start seizing assets from TNA. While the restructuring as Impact Ventures LLC increases the distance from the original debt and thus requires more work by the state to collect, it can still do so. Tennessee would just have to assess a lien against Impact Ventures and, if it got that far, a buyer as well. However, the state cannot go after a successor for more than the purchase price.

Why POP TV Almost Had To Pull TNA Impact Last Night, Potential TNA Talent Issues

It’s possible that contracted TNA talents will become free agents next week due to a breach of contract, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. The story is that TNA may not have received enough funding to pay talents and pay for the recent Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando. If they don’t have enough to pay talents this weekend, which is supposed to be a pay period, then that would force a breach of contract and essentially create a bunch of free agents. Meltzer reports that some talents are prepared to declare themselves free agents next week if they aren’t paid.

In other negative news for TNA, last night’s Impact on POP was almost pulled due to a music rights issue. There was a point earlier in the day where POP almost had to pull the show but the issue was settled and they ended up nixing the theme songs for Mike Bennett and DJZ. PWInsider reports that this was not related to the Corgan lawsuit.

Exclusive: Who Funded TNA’s Latest Tapings, Dixie Owes Corgan Money

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mQkNSXF37c

In the new lawsuit filed by Audience of One Productions against TNA, there’s a note about how the debt that TNA (technically the Impact Ventures parent company) owes Aroluxe Media is on file with the Tennessee Secretary of State. If you look up Impact Ventures in the relevant database, you get three debts registered by the company:

It’s been difficult to find any information on MCC Acquisition Corp, but everything else at their address (171 East Liberty Street, Suite 230 in Toronto) is related to Anthem/The Fight Network in some form. There are a couple companies involved that “MCC” could stand for, though it could just be a new shell created for this transaction.  Why the latest round of funding wouldn’t have gone through Anthem again is unclear, and if it was for secrecy, they didn’t do the best job of covering their tracks.

However, this gets a LOT more interesting.

When you search for Dixie Carter (who is legally Dixie Carter Salinas, her married name), you get this, which was filed Tuesday morning (October 11th):

Record of Dixie Carter owing Billy Corgan money.

Yes, as of Tuesday, Dixie Carter officially owes Billy Corgan money personally.

The address given for Corgan appears to be that of the offices of Smashing Pumpkins Machine, his company. A day later, on Wednesday, as reported earlier today (Thursday), Corgan sued Impact Ventures, TNA Entertainment, TNA COO and CFO Dean Broadhead, Dixie Carter Salinas, and her husband Serg Salinas. Being that everything filed so far in the lawsuit is sealed from public view, we can’t be 100% sure what this is about yet, but the two issues sure look like they’re related.

I have reached out to Dixie Carter’s known email addresses as well as TNA proper for comment, and will update this article if she replies.

Billy Corgan Files Lawsuit Against TNA, Dixie Carter & Others

TNA President Billy Corgan has filed a lawsuit in Nashville against Impact Wrestling (parent company Impact Ventures LLC), TNA Chairman Dixie Carter, TNA Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead and Serg Salias, Dixie’s husband. The news was first reported by PWInsider.com.

Details are scarce at this point, but court records reveal a temporary restraining order was approved and a hearing for a temporary injunction will be held next Thursday morning (10/20). Corgan has also requested a six person jury to decide the case. Beyond that, exact nature of the lawsuit is currently unknown due to court documents being sealed.

Corgan has been attempting to purchase a majority stake in the company. Corgan’s stake in the company has grown as he’s financed several rounds of television tapings, but Dixie Carter has maintained a controlling interest. Aroluxe Productions and The Fight Network also own shares. A sale was expected prior to TNA Bound For Glory, but Dixie Carter somehow secured funding and Corgan has been unable to finalize a deal.

Dave Meltzer noted this week,  “There are a lot of hurdles and games being played. [Dixie Carter] has really made a mess and is responsible for all of it.”

Update On The Future Of TNA, Talent Wants Billy Corgan Leading The Company

While Billy Corgan had the final creatively at the last set of TNA TV tapings, Dixie Carter remains the majority shareholder of the company. Executives from The Fight Network were also backstage to meet with Carter, as they are also company shareholders. Dixie left before the end of the tapings.

According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a lot of frustration among company employees and wrestlers due to the extended state of ownership limbo. TNA still reportedly owes a significant amount of money to some of their performers. There is also heat on Dixie Carter for the perception that she’s handling things badly and causing deals to fall apart.

According to the Observer, things are heated behind-the-scenes between Dixie Carter and potential buyers Billy Corgan and Aroluxe Marketing. It now appears that Aroluxe may be the most-likely buyer.

There’s currently no word on who funded the previous set of tapings. It wasn’t WWE, and WWE is reportedly no longer in talks to purchase the company.

Jim Ross: ‘Very Reliable’ People Told Him WWE Is Buying TNA’s Video Library

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4e_MBIWOac

On the latest episode of “The Ross Report,” Jim Ross’s podcast, he dropped the following rumor on the TNA sale situation:

WWE is allegedly very close to buying the TNA library. Not the promotion, the TNA library. Obviously, with WWE Network, the TNA library could be a nice resource, a nice asset. Now, you know, TNA does have some talents I’m sure WWE would like to have down the road, but now I hear that WWE and TNA have had talks about buying the library and that a deal is imminent.

Ross stressed that this was a “rumor” that had “not been verified” from people who are “normally very, very reliable.” Besides his general connections in wrestling, both on the talent and front office side, at one point, Ross was the point man for WWE’s acquisition of video libraries. If anyone outside the company would be well sourced on those acquisitions, it would make sense that it would be Ross.

Of course, it does need to be pointed out that Dixie Carter said during a TNA talent meeting on Monday that while there had been talks with WWE about selling the library, she would not let a sale happen, so to speak. Being that she is still the majority owner, it’s unclear why said conversation would happen if Carter wouldn’t consider making a deal.

Analysis: Of course, we need to take Ross’s caveats into account here. With regards to what Carter said, the only possible explanation that would allow us to take her at face value is if the she talked to WWE but balked when she realized they wouldn’t keep TNA going. Being that reportedly, WWE has been out and then back in at various points, that may not track.

As for the specific rumor that Ross forwarded and how that fits in, it’s not the worst idea if Billy Corgan is looking to start fresh with a new name, image, etc. The back catalog won’t fit into that for the most part, and TNA can’t monetize it well anymore, so maybe selling the library to fund the sale/erase much of the debt.

Update: Reporter Justin LaBar says Billy Corgan will be taking over as the company’s new majority owner and will probably rebrand, finally putting the letters “TNA” to rest.

Dixie Carter Addresses Rumors During Talent Meeting At TNA Tapings

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn13PwaRQ6s

Both F4WOnline and PWInsider (NSFW ads) are reporting that the promised TNA talent meeting with Dixie Carter to address the rumors of the insolvency and potential sale of the company ended up taking place at Monday’s Impact tapings, a day later than originally expected. Dave Meltzer’s F4WOnline report classified the meeting as having little new information past Dixie Carter confirming that WWE had expressed interest in buying TNA for the tape library, only to add that she wouldn’t let that happen. She also made sure to say that WWE had not purchased the tape library (as in leaving TNA alive but without its archival content), either.

PWInsider’s report had a bit more information, with these being the key notes:

  • With regards to Bound For Glory, while the report cites Carter as saying that the show “was never not going to happen,” it does use quotes to denote that she used the word “scrambled” to describe what TNA management had to do to make sure the show happened. Those sound self-contradictory barring something like Carter opting to pay for this week’s shows personally, like having to “scramble” when nobody else came through and the company itself couldn’t.
  • Carter was apparently surprised that there was so much concern about the company’s future, to the point that she apologized to the locker room.
  • She said that any late payments were a result of money that TNA was waiting on was also late in coming in. If true, this shows that the company that the company is operating hand to mouth without cash on hand to make payroll unless money owed comes in.
  • Carter is still the majority owner, but she said that the minority owners have been fighting for power, which meshes with what Billy Corgan has been saying.
  • Billy Corgan chose not to attend the meeting.

Dixie Carter Teases Returns And Debuts At Tonight’s Bound For Glory PPV

Dixe Carter posted the following on Twitter about tonight’s Bound For Glory PPV.

Dixie Carter Addresses Speculation About Bound For Glory & TNA’s Future

TNA President Dixie Carter tweeted this at 5:41 p.m. ET on Friday:

The speculation in question revolves around whether or not TNA will even be running Bound For Glory on Sunday and the subsequent TV tapings. Reportedly, being that banks will be closed for the weekend and TNA needs funding to run the week of shows (Billy Corgan largely confirmed the latter when he appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show), the company had until the close of business Friday to make a deal. With TNA based in Nashville, which is in the Central Time Zone (where it was still 4:41 .m.),if a deal was made before the tweet, then they would have barely made it.

If they did make a deal, it’s not yet clear who would be providing the investment, if not outright buying the company. In the Le Batard interview, Corgan said that his understanding as a TNA shareholder was that WWE was not in negotiations for the company.

The Latest On TNA Wrestling’s Future

Wrestling fans know there’s a great deal of certainty regarding the future of TNA Wrestling and we’ll know something definitive any time now over the next few days. Will Billy Corgan (by himself or with a team of investors) assume a majority stake in the company? Will a media company or another investor group make Dixie Carter and company an offer they can’t refuse? Would WWE buy their competition once again ala WCW/ECW 2001 and acquire the tape library while shutting the company down?

Controlling shareholder and former TNA President Dixie Carter checked in with a (minor) update on Thursday evening, doing what else but teasing a “big announcement.” If that’s not the TNA of the past several years, we don’t know what is.

For more on TNA’s future and perhaps their “Final Destination” – check out Billy Corgan’s latest interview talking about the company’s pending sale.

TNA Running Out Of Time For A Sale, WWE Back In Play?

TNA Bound For Glory is fast approaching and the urgency of TNA being sold is growing. Billy Corgan has been public about wanting to wrap up a deal to buy the company by this weekend, as additional funding is needed to produce Sunday’s Bound For Glory PPV and next week’s Impact tapings. Essentially, a deal needs to be made by Friday, as it’s the last business day before Sunday’s big PPV.

On a related note, it’s said that WWE is back in play in regards to a potential sale. We noted before that WWE has a real offer to purchase the company but it was described as an option of no other party wanted to purchase the company. While WWE would likely keep a few wrestlers, they mainly just want the tape library and if they were to purchase the company, TNA would be done for the most part.

Dixie Carter is able to sell to who she wants to and the whole deal has reportedly become very complicated.

How Many Millions Dixie Carter Wants For Her Share Of TNA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mQkNSXF37c

TNA president Billy Corgan has openly stated that he wants to purchase the company, but one person in his way is Dixie Carter. TNA’s shareholders currently consist of Carter, Corgan, and Aroluxe Productions. The latter two shareholders got their stakes by providing emergency funding for tapings and a pay-per-view. Without their funding, the shows wouldn’t have happened and TNA could have gone under. The cost for TNA to run a set of tapings falls in the ballpark of three quarters of a million dollars.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dixie Carter wants at least $4 million for her share of the company. Aroluxe tried putting together a deal to buy out the company this summer, but they weren’t able to raise the funds.

Corgan indicated in a recent Facebook live chat that he plans to take full control of the company and use his celebrity status to build better relationships with advertisers. One of the issues TNA currently faces is a lack of advertising revenue.

Backstage News On TNA Morale Post-Corgan Announcement, Aron Rex Interview (Video)

– Following the news that Billy Corgan is taking over as the new President of TNA’s parent company, Impact Ventures, the backstage reaction was very positive. A meeting was held over the weekend in Orlando where Dixie explained the changes to the staff and officially welcomed Corgan to his new post. Corgan received a round of applause before talking for around ten minutes on his vision for the company’s new direction.

– McKenzie Mitchell talks with Aron Rex (Damien Sandow) in this new video. Rex says he’s excited to be in TNA and that he has butterflies for the first time in 10 years.

Billy Corgan Replaces Dixie Carter As TNA President

Billy Corgan is the new President of of IMPACT Ventures, parent company of TNA Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling. He will be responsible for running the company’s day-to-day operations.

Former President Dixie Carter will now serve as Chairman and Chief Strategy officer, shifting her focus long-term planning, strategic partnerships and global growth.

“Billy is a visionary, an iconic artist and savvy businessman with an incredibly gifted creative mind. He has built a decades-long successful global brand, and also has a deep passion and understanding for professional wrestling,” said Dixie Carter in a press release. “In working with Billy over the last 16 months, he has impressed me to the point that I’ve been in discussions with him to take an elevated strategic leadership role within the company. The more we discussed our vision for the organization, the clearer it became that position needed to match his commitment.”

“We are entering an exciting new era for IMPACT and will be working to continue to define our brand, develop global strategies for success, and structure for future investment and growth,” added Carter. “These moves, effective immediately, signify the team’s determination to work together to effectively cover more ground and capitalize on TNA’s current momentum that has seen ratings rise in recent months.”

Corgan, a minority investor in the company, said, “This year we have made significant strides in establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands.”

Report: TNA Sale Negotiations On Hold While Dixie Carter Vacations In Africa

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKzHpRyAsRA

TNA’s longterm hopes for grown & sustainability rely on a competent buyer materializing – but that scenario is temporarily on hold.

Despite recent reports that a TNA sale was imminent, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dixie Carter is currently on a two-week vacation in Africa, putting ongoing negotiations on hold.

If you’ve been following this story, you know the ongoing theme with a potential TNA sale is the fact that Dixie Carter wants to retain majority ownership. Briefly recapping, country singer Toby Keith was ready to sign the papers to buy the company, but Dixie Carter’s father Bob insisted that she stay on TV playing the President of the company. Keith had wanted to bring back Jarrett to run the company.

TNA is said to be behind on paying their staff.

TNA Signs Deal To Air Impact Wrestling Online In China

TNA is expanding their international reach. It was announced on Thursday that the company reached a deal with internet TV platform YouKu. Impact Wrestling will be shown on Wednesday evenings on i.youku.com/tnawrestling.

Following Dixie Carter’s announcement on Twitter, a video hosted by Josh Matthews was uploaded to YouKu discussing the new deal. TNA will be teaming up with a company called Fit Time based in Beijing for promotional purposes.

Report: TNA Close To Reaching Deal On Sale Of Company

TNA is reportedly close to reaching an agreement on the sale of the company. Dave Meltzer reported on Monday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that the TNA situation “is coming to a head.”

Billy Corgan and Aroluxe Marketing have both put money into TNA in recent months and became minority shareholders. TNA has been signing talent to exclusive deals as leverage for sale negotiations. Finances in TNA have reportedly been so tight that production staff went months without being paid, and the company’s June 14th Slammiversary pay-per-view almost didn’t happen if it weren’t for some last-minute funding.

As of press time, there’s no word on who TNA’s buyer is. Three previously-reported potential buyers include an unnamed cable TV company, a company that specializes in troubled assets, and Aroluxe marketing, who are already handling TNA’s production and doing business as “TNA” on paper.

Earlier this year, Dixie Carter went to TNA’s international partners Sony Six in India and Challenge TV in the UK to offer them 10 percent of the company for funding, but they were not interested.

TNA & Pop TV Issue Statements On Strange Technical Error During Impact Wrestling

Fans who tried to watch Impact Wrestling on Pop TV tonight were met with nonstop commercials instead of the scheduled programming.

Pop TV has apparently been experiencing technical difficulties at their headquarters, and the same 3 commercials began airing at 9 PM ET onward instead of Impact Wrestling. The issue reportedly did not effect the feed on the Fight Network in Canada.

TNA & Pop TV issued the following statements:

Fans took to Twitter when they realized they had been watching the same three commercials for quite some time:

Details On TNA’s New Contract Offers To Their Top Stars

TNA is reportedly in the process of locking in several of their biggest stars to new contracts. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newseletter, TNA is currently negotiating new deals with Matt and Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, and Drew Galloway.

The company, which is reportedly in financial peril and possibly on the verge of new ownership, wants to lock those names in to exclusive deals that would allow them to control the talents’ outside bookings and earn commissions from them.

Back in May it was reported that TNA wanted to sign stars to exclusive deals in order to raise the company’s value in the event of a sale. Caleb Konley, Sienna, Crazzy Steve, Robbie E and Jessie Godderz all re-signed with the company early last month.

Meltzer previously reported that TNA was months behind on paying some of their behind-the-scenes staff, and was in negotiations with three possible buyers. Company president Dixie Carter reacted to the reports in an interview, saying “There’s so much incorrect information out there about the financial situation of TNA.”

Cody Rhodes vs. Mike Bennett Announced, Dixie Carter Talks Sony Six Relationship

– Cody Rhodes will face TNA star Mike Bennett on 8/26 in Pittsfield, MA for the Northeast Wrestling promotion. As we reported before, Cody will face Kurt Angle at NEW’s 8/27 event in Wappingers Falls, NY. Bennett was one of the names on Cody’s list of post-WWE opponents he wanted to face.

– The Fan Garage has published the second half of their interview with Dixie Carter at this link. She commented on the partnership with SonySix in India:

“They’ve been great partners for a long time, and we would love to make India our second home. The potential is unlimited here, the fan base is so passionate about all the sports, especially wrestling and we see some great opportunities to grow the business in India as we have some incredible partners in Sony. We definitely want to tape television from India and we are currently discussing about the same.”

Dixie Carter On Financial Trouble Rumors, Signing Former WWE Stars

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKdrHovHYSI

TNA president Dixie Carter was recently interviewed by Renjith Ravindran for the Fan Garage during her trip to India. Carter spoke on the recent rumors of TNA’s financial problems, saying there’s a lot of incorrect information out there. Carter pointed to recent international partnerships as a sign that great things are happening in the company.

“You can’t react to the rumors about the financial situation. That’s the difficulty about being in my position. There’s so much incorrect information out there about the financial situation of TNA,” Carter said. “We are putting out some of the best television our company has ever put out and if you watch it you can tell, great things are happening to our company. We just announced some associations in the Middle East, we just announced Vietnam and a lot of similar announcements are rolling out.”

On the subject of signing former WWE stars, Carter says the company is still keeping an eye on what free agents are on the market. Carter put over TNA’s home-grown talent, saying her roster and their wrestling are the best in the business, and mentioned EC III, Rock Star Spud, Eli Drake and Bram.

“They’ve grown so much but I think we also did a fantastic job with people like Drew Galloway who was at the WWE and came in and completely relaunched himself,” Carter said. “There are definitely some incredibly talented wrestlers on the market right now and some will be available at some part of this year. And I do see ourselves talking to them. I think it would be exciting to bring a few into TNA.”
