– It looks like Neville will be returning to the ring soon. He’s being advertised for the September 9th WWE live event in Manila, Philippines from the Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 3rd.

– Dixie Carter “liked” Ryback’s controversial tweet about appearing in the Impact Zone during Extreme Rules. For those that missed it, he wrote: “#FeedMeMore during #ExtremeRules if you want to see Ryborg in the Impact zone…”

Update On TNA Falling Behind On Paying Their Production Staff

As previously noted, TNA is reportedly behind on paying their production workers again. Dave Meltzer reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that isn’t as far behind as they have been in the past, but that the company is still having financial issues.

At the last set of Impact Wrestling tapings in April, some workers were paid in full while others weren’t paid at all. Members of TNA management reportedly told the talent not paid that their checks would be sent out the next day on April 25th, but Meltzer says those employees not paid at the tapings still haven’t received those checks.

TNA returns to filming in June with their Slammiversary pay-per-view and a set of Impact tapings.

Report: TNA Months Behind On Paying Production Crew

On Saturday it was announced that TNA will be holding more TV tapings in June, and that their Saturday morning replay has been cancelled by Pop TV. The news comes amid reports that TNA is having trouble paying their staff. PWTorch.com reports that TNA is currently behind on pay with their production crew, with some workers being owed money from as far back as March and January.

There were several reports of late pay in the last year, including the company reportedly owing Bobby Roode and Eric Young over six-figures. There’s belief within the company that Aroluxe Marketing has been loaning TNA money so they could continue taping Impact Wrestling. PWTorch.com claims some TNA production staff have been told they will be replaced at next month’s taping.

Dixie Carter is still currently looking for an investor so she can remain in control of the company. As reported earlier this month there are three possible investors who would all want to take control of the company from Dixie. TNA moving their offices into the ShopTNA warehouse in a cost-cutting move may look good in an investor presentation, but workers leaving without being paid would not.

TNA’s recent contract re-signings are believed to have been done to impress potential investors. As noted earlier this month Dave Meltzer reported that TNA had asked their talent to tweet about how backstage morale is fine, in order to combat stories online. Meltzer says one TNA talent told him morale is “the worst ever” for people who’ve been with the company a long time.

TNA Re-Structuring Contracts, Backstage Talk On Expected Sale Of Company

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EMZsv4EzzU

TNA is reportedly making some big internal changes. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA officials are currently trying to re-structure contracts for the majority of their roster. The re-structuring involves the company controlling all of their talents’ outside bookings, which reportedly is a move to give TNA more value in the event of a sale.

Regarding rumors of a sale, officials are keeping quiet and the talent seems to be in the dark on the issue. The Wrestling Observer also claims that at least one person was told that when any sale or investment is completed, Dixie Carter and John Gaburick would still be in control of the company.

For the first time in several months, TNA has also reportedly started offering deals with “significant” money attached to them to free agents in the wrestling world.

It was reported in April that TNA is in talks with three possible investors. One is a TV company that could air Impact Wrestling on it’s own channel and operate the company similar to how Turner operated WCW. Another one is a marketing agency operated by the Harris brothers, and the other is a company called Summit Strategic Investments that specializes in “troubled assets.” TNA’s international partners Sony Six in India and Challenge TV in the UK both turned down offers for 10% ownership of the company in exchange for funding.

TV Company Reportedly In Talks To Buy TNA

There are now reportedly three bidders in the running to buy TNA. Dave Meltzer reported on Live Audio Wrestling that he’s heard of two new bidders aside from Aroluxe, and one is “TV-based” and would run TNA in a way that could be compared to Turner and WCW. He didn’t mention the name of the company.

Meltzer noted that if this TV company gets TNA, they may want to pull Impact Wrestling from Pop TV in favor of airing it on their own channels. He says TNA’s international syndication deals in the UK and India would be the valuable assets to this bidder. One company that fits the criteria mentioned by Meltzer is Sinclair Broadcasting, where Aroluxe CEO David Johnson worked for 11 years. Sinclair Broadcasting is the parent company of Ring Of Honor.

In last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that Dixie Carter had already gone to TNA’s international partners Sony Six in India and Challenge TV in the UK to offer them 10 percent of the company for funding, but they were not interested.

The Latest On Major Changes To TNA, Potential Investors & Dixie’s Future With The Company

Following up on the news that TNA is in talks with potential investors, F4Wonline.com reports that people in the company are expecting a deal to be struck in the near future.

Negotiations are heating up and TNA’s financial situation is growing more dire by the month. There is said to be one group that is the most serious candidate, with another interested party considered to be a long shot. The primary company is said to have people on board with experience in the wrestling business.

TNA President Dixie Carter continues to push for a prominent role in the company in the event of a sale, even if the ‘investors’ acquire a majority stake. This has been the main sticking point in all of TNA’s negotiations with investors and has led to several major opportunities falling through already.

Report: TNA Being Evicted From Old Office, In Serious Financial Trouble

We reported yesterday that TNA is in the process of moving out of their offices at Cummins Station in Nashville and into the ShopTNA.com warehouse. PWInsider.com originally reported that the move had been planned for a while, but there appears to be more to the story.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that TNA is actually being evicted from the building, and their only choice is to move all of their business operations into the ShopTNA warehouse. Dixie Carter had offices in that same space for her old public relations company for years before she got involved in TNA, and TNA took over the space from her PR company. TNA has until the end of the month to move out.

The company reportedly needs to raise money if they want to be able to pay for airfare for their next Impact Wrestling TV tapings in Orlando. TNA does have an investor willing to put money into the company for controlling interest, but Dixie Carter reportedly isn’t interested in giving up her control right now.

TNA Moving Corporate Headquarters Into A Warehouse

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iV2tfyXDVs

TNA Wrestling will be dramatically downscaling their corporate headquarters later this month, according to PWInsider.

The company is in the process of packing up and moving out of their longtime offices at Cummins Station in Nashville, TN. All business operations are being moved to a warehouse the company currently uses for the ShopTNA.com store. This latest cost-cutting move has reportedly been planned for some time.

TNA has been at the Cummins Station location since Dixie Carter and Panda Energy got involved in the company. Prior to running TNA, Dixie Carter’s public relations company had been based out of the Cummins Station office.

TNA Seeking Out New Investors To Get Cash Infused Into The Company

Last night, Mike Johnson broke the news at PWInsider.com that TNA has been actively seeking out new investors for the company as of late, which TNA Executive Vice President,Creative & Talent Relations John Gaburick confirmed. “TNA has been in in strategic partnership talks with several major global media companies and investment firms about the company’s next phase of growth,” adding that “TNA CEO Dixie Carter has talked in recent media interviews about the company’s execution of its 5 year growth plan”  and “It’s a very exciting time for TNA.” Gaburick also confirmed that Dixie Carter had spent a lot of time in New York and Los Angeles as of late for meetings.

On last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio podcast for F4WOnline.com subscribers, Dave Meltzer said that he didn’t have much in the way of details other than that “It’s up for sale.” It wasn’t entirely clear if he just meant shares or trying to sell outright, but he took a fairly negative point of view since it’s not like TNA is in good shape right now and they’re losing their biggest name star, Kurt Angle.

Johnson followed that up this morning with a “frequently asked questions” type of article where he addressed some key elements of the story:

  • Panda Energy, the Carter family’s main company, is no longer financing TNA, and the belief is that they haven’t been since Jeff Jarrett’s minority stake in the company was bought out last year. Panda may still own TNA on paper, but paychecks that used to come from Panda’s Texas offices are now coming out of TNA’s Nashville, Tennessee offices.
  • The newer international TV deals, like with Sony Six in India, are enough to keep the company afloat, but not enough to make TNA a “player,” and Dixie Carter wants TNA to be a “player” in the pro wrestling business. right now.
  • Johnson has heard that interest in buying into the company has been shown by a United Kingdom based group of some kind, with TNA also having meetings in New York and Los Angeles, “including meetings at the Pop network.” It’s not clear if he means Pop was showing interest in buying to TNA or just that some of the meetings could have been routine meetings with Pop.
  • The company isn’t necessarily for sale, with every source specifically telling Johnson that they’re looking for partners, but theoretically, if “the right offer came along,” it’s not like they’d dismiss it out of hand. Of course, TNA has turned down offers to sell in the past, with one (from a group led by Jeff Jarrett and Hermie Sadler) getting close but not going through when Bob Carter insisted that Dixie must continue to have an onscreen role. Jarrett and Sadler pulled out of the deal because they felt that was dictating creative direction as part of the sale.

It doesn’t seem like TNA is in good shape right now, especially if Panda Energy is no longer funding them. That said, they’ve pulled a rabbit out of their hat before, so it wouldn’t be a huge shock if they found a strategic partner.

Dixie Carter Says WWE Is Trying To Sign TNA Talent

TNA President Dixie Carter spoke with the Associated Press this week to promote Impact Wrestling’s move to Pop TV. With the big news of the week being WWE’s raid of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Dixie revealed that her own locker room is also under siege.

“We’ve always been criticized about taking WWE talent, and I think it’s pretty interesting how the roles have been reversed. Our competitors, our competition have been after our talent.”

She also commented on James Storm’s surprise return to TNA, noting that working for WWE isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. “The grass isn’t always greener and what we have here is very special.”

Pop TV President Talks About Bringing TNA Impact Wrestling To Their Network

https://youtu.be/WgNo0T5ujT0

Pop TV President Brad Schwartz recently spoke with Jim Varsallone of MiamiHerald.com to discuss how they became the official cable television home of TNA Impact Wrestling. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On how Pop TV became the new cable television home for TNA Impact Wrestling:

“Dixie and the Impact team were looking for a new home for their series. They had huge success on Spike. Millions of viewers watching every week, and they really enjoyed that success. In switching to another network [Destination America] which didn’t have the distribution that Spike had, they obviously noticed a little bit of a hit to the success that they had.”

On how their deal came about:

“So [TNA was] actively looking for a new television partner, and I think made the rounds and met with a lot of cable networks to see where a home might be. We were on their list of calls, and they came in [about a couple of months ago], and we had our entire team meet with them and listen to the pitch and listen to what they wanted to do — where they saw the company going, where they saw [pro wrestling] going. That’s how it came to our attention.”

TNA Issues Statement On Postponing Tour Of India

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYiR7ZXAFW8

TNA has issued a statement on the status of their tour of India.

We reported earlier that the tour has been indefinitely postponed for “logistical issues.” Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported that a TNA source told him the real reason for postponing was “safety concerns,” although Meltzer noted he doesn’t entirely believe the source’s claim.

Here’s TNA’s statement they sent out about the postponement on Thursday:

Postponement of ‘TNA One Night Only: Mumbai’ Event

Information note:

Mumbai, Thursday, 26 November, 2015 – 11 AM IST:

Multi Screen Media (MSM) and TNA Wrestling, the international professional wrestling entertainment organization, jointly announced today that the TNA One Night Only: Mumbai live event has been postponed.

The live event that was scheduled to take place on December 4, has now been postponed to 2016 to a yet-to-be decided date. The postponement is primarily due to logistical issues around the timing of the event.

As soon as the new dates are firmed up, it will be announced in an update.

While TNA is looking forward to coming to India soon, MSM is geared up to host the entire entourage of TNA in India.

Event background:

MSM & TNA Wrestling announced their partnership for India’s first ever LIVE televised wrestling event last month in a pioneering move to bring an internationally broadcast sporting event to India featuring the Stars and Knockouts of IMPACT WRESTLING, TNA’s flagship, to be broadcast LIVE in India, the United States and all around the world.

TNA’s Tour Of India Postponed Indefinitely

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYiR7ZXAFW8

TNA’s big tour of India has been postponed. TNA sent an email out to their talent last week, explaining that they had to postpone the tour due to “logistical issues.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that a TNA source told him “safety concerns” were the real reason. Meltzer said he does not entirely believe what that source told him. It’s worth noting that in the past when TNA has cancelled domestic shows for “logistical issues,” it really meant poor ticket sales.

This tour is said to be important for TNA’s relationship with their TV partner India Sony Six. It will be interesting to see if the tour being postponed indefinitely has any effect on their deal together.

Many members of the TNA roster are now scrambling to find bookings for that weekend on short notice. TNA talent was supposed to fly out to India this weekend.

Impact Wrestling Premieres On POP TV January 5th

TNA Impact Wrestling will premiere on POP TV (the former TV Guide Channel) on Tuesday, January 5th at 9pm EST. The 1/5 premiere will air live and then from there, taped episodes will air on Pop every Tuesday night.

The news comes after months of uncertainty regarding TNA’s future and their relationship with Destination America. TNA President Dixie Carter was in Los Angeles earlier this week, presumably finalizing the deal. On Wednesday night, TNA’s official website featured a countdown clock which culminated in today’s major announcement.

Pop TV is available in approximately 75 million homes across the United States, far more than Destination America, which was only available in 57 million. Where to watch:

  • Verizon FiOS: Channel 694 (HD) | Channel 194 (SD)
  • DirecTV: Channel 273 (SD)
  • Dish Network: Channel 117 (SD)

For more information on how you can watch watch Impact Wrestling come January, visit PopTV.com and use their “Channel Finder” feature.

TNA Replaces Website With Countdown Clock

TNA’s official website now directs you to a countdown clock on a blank page with the Impact Wrestling logo. The clock expires at 10:00 AM ET on Thursday, November 19th.

TNA will likely make some sort of announcement when the timer expires. Dixie Carter flew to Los Angeles yesterday to speak with cable channels.

Report: “Highly, Highly Unlikely” That TNA Will Return To Spike TV

Last week on Twitter, Dixie Carter replied to a fan who said TNA should be back on Spike TV. She teased that something may be the in the works, writing “I hear you, stay tuned.”

TNA is reportedly in talks with a couple different networks with greater viewership than Destination America, but it doesn’t sound like Spike is one of them. According to PWInsider.com, no one at Spike TV has heard anything about TNA returning. One well-placed contact at Spike even went as far as to say it was “highly, highly unlikely” that TNA would return to the channel.

PWInsider did report that Spike has discussed doing some live wrestling specials in the future, but not with TNA.

Recap Of Hulk Hogan On Ric Flair’s Podcast: “TNA Had Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen”

Hulk Hogan was recently interviewed by “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair for Ric’s WOOOOO! Nation podcast. The two Hall of Famers discussed their time in both WWE and TNA. You can stream or download the podcast here.

Hogan reiterated his stance on WWE firing him over his leaked racist rant, saying they did what they had to do. He said the loyalty of the fans is something that WWE can’t take away from him and he won’t take for granted. He has nothing bad to say about Vince or WWE, and says he knows he created some great memories there.

The two ring icons also got into the subject of TNA, where they both worked at the same time. Hogan was a member of the creative team during their runs in the company, and recalled the time he convinced Ric to take a clothesline from him while Ric was rolling down the ramp in a wheelchair. Flair was glad the crowd popped huge for the clothesline, because he says it’s hard to make the old Impact Zone pop as there are a lot of non-wrestling fans in attendance.

Dixie Carter is another person Hulk says he has nothing bad to say about, because she supported him through some tough surgeries. He did concede that being in TNA was a “tough gig.”

Flair put over James Storm and Bobby Roode as great talents. Flair also said that the decline for the company is due to “inconsistent booking” and having, “too many cooks in the kitchen.”

The Nature Boy revealed that TNA had him and Hulk delivered to and from the arena each night, and that most of their time in Orlando was spent at the hotel bar across the street.

Dixie Carter’s Major Announcement Is A Media Tour Of India

https://youtu.be/BYiR7ZXAFW8

As advertised, TNA President Dixie Carter revealed her latest “announcement” on Monday, and while everything seems pleasant, it’s certainly not the announcement anyone has been anticipating.

As seen in the video above, Carter announced that Ethan Carter III, Mahabali Shera and Rebel will be traveling to India this month for a TNA media tour and talent search.

Below are the official details:

TNA Wrestling and Sony Six Announce Extensive India Media Tour and Talent Search

Mumbai (Monday October 5, 2015): TNA Wrestling, in partnership with Sony SIX, are delighted to announce that India’s own Mahabali Shera, along with fellow TNA Stars EC3 and Rebel, will travel to India later this month for an extensive international media tour – during which they will make a key announcement about TNA in the region.

The trio will be accompanied by TNA’s Executive Vice President of Television and Talent Relations John Gaburick, who is using to the trip to search for Indian talent to join Shera on the TNA roster.

This expansive week-long promotional tour will span four major cities. It kicks off in Mumbai on October 19, before heading to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

TNA fans in India can look forward to meeting and interacting with their favorite wrestlers at a series of promotional events in each city. They will also get a close-up view of the TNA Stars soaking up the diverse local cultural experiences in each location.

This year’s promotional tour, follows 2014’s momentous unveiling of TNA’s first ever Indian wrestler, Shera – after a year-long search led by TNA Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle.

During his visit to India, Kurt selected and mentored Shera, welcoming him into the elite faction of the TNA global talent roster and further growing the popularity of professional wrestling in India.

TNA President Dixie Carter said: “It’s been amazing to watch the growth of TNA in India, and our incredible partnership with Sony SIX has provided the foundation for this success.

“The addition of Mahabali Shera to our roster has won us even more new fans, thanks to his ring presence and signature Shera Shuffle dance that continues to catch fire.

“We are proud to send Shera back for a hero’s welcome in India, along with EC3 and Rebel, for this expansive multi-city media tour and I can’t wait to see the reaction to the announcement they are going to make. I’m also hopeful that John will discover another future Indian star to join Shera on our diverse and incomparable roster.”

Catering to the sustained demand for TNA on Sony SIX, this announcement marks a significant investment, cultivating the growth of professional wrestling entertainment viewership across the Indian market.

Dixie Carter On TNA/Destination America Situation, WWE & Competition, More

TNA President Dixie Carter recently spoke with Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard bllog about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On TNA’s status with Destination America: “The biggest challenge for us is building a brand in the U.S. That’s where we need to grow. We’re contracted to Destination America through the end of the year, and we are in discussions going on for 2016.”

On TNA’s future: “TNA will continue exist, and on a level that far exceeds what we’re currently doing. I’m looking ahead five years down the road, not a year down the road.”

On TNA creating competition and WWE: “Besides WWE, we’re the only global promotion in the world. We’re in over 120 countries worldwide and in 19 languages. We made a conscious decision about three years ago to take a step back and focus on young talent. We’ve had some of the biggest names ever on our show. People have given us a hard time about using WWE talent, but after a hot run with us, almost every one of them has worked with WWE again. That is a huge compliment for us.

“I do feel we’ve taken some unfair blows. Competition, no matter who it is, is healthy. It’s absolutely imperative for the industry to grow. There’s a reason that there is a Lowe’s on the corner of every Home Depot, and a Walgreens across from every CVS. It’s important for the industry.”
