Drew Galloway/McIntyre appeared for WCPW this past Sunday as part of the Mexican Qualifier of the Pro Wrestling World Cup.
This was to be Galloway’s final match on the Independent scene before joining the NXT roster full time. Cody Rhodes was Drew’s opponent and they certainly delivered in a match including interference, tables and hard hitting action.
The match is available to watch now on WCPW’s YouTube channel here.
With regards to Cody you can now check out the audio from the exclusive interview that we posted earlier in the week:
ICMYI – Drew Galloway/McIntyre has re-signed for WWE on the NXT brand.
Since his departure from the WWE in 2014 Galloway has become one of the biggest stars on the UK independent circuit. His return to the WWE will now leave a big void in the UK scene, particularly for WCPW where he is the World Heavyweight Champion.
Drew’s final two appearances for WCPW are at No Regrets on April 29th and the Pro Wrestling World Cup Mexican Qualifier on April 30th.
What Culture Pro Wrestling General Manager Adam Blampied has announced that Galloway will defend his WCPW Title in a 30-Man Championship Rumble at No Regrets, check out the video below for further information:
The Scottish Sun published an article on Drew McIntyre (Drew Galloway) and his return to WWE. The publication had previously covered McIntyre’s decision to turn down an offer from Impact Wrestling earlier this year.
In the article Drew talks about how leaving WWE allowed him to develop his wrestling persona.
“I’ve been very fortunate — not many people have left WWE and then had the chance to reinvent themselves.”
Drew Galloway Career Resurgence
Since his release from WWE in 2014, Galloway has been wrestling in the UK and for Impact, though he left the promotion earlier this year. His final WWE run was as a member of comedy act “3MB”, but Galloway developed a more serious persona outside the company.
Galloway had been a top prospect for WWE, signing with the promotion at only 21 years of age. He won the Intercontinental championship and was once called a future world champion by Vince McMahon. His signing with NXT, leaves room for that prediction to still come true.
“I remember The Rock saying if you’re the hardest worker in the room anything is possible and my motto is work harder than everyone else.”
Drew Galloway/McIntyre appeared on camera during Saturday night’s NXT Takeover show in Orlando and he now confirmed for a WWE return.
Since his WWE departure Galloway has been one of the standout performers on the UK Independent circuit, his performances in ICW being his most notable.
ICW posted the following tweet after the Takeover show advertising an already confirmed appearance by Galloway for their Barramania show that takes place April 16th. It is likely that Galloway is just finishing up his Independent dates however ICW & WWE have been heavily linked for the past couple of months with ICW rumoured to be heading to the WWE Network.
This may well develop into a bigger story with one of ICW’s biggest stars in Galloway making the jump back to NXT/WWE.
After making an appearance at NXT TakeOver: Orlando on Saturday night, WWE has officially announced Drew McIntyre (Drew Galloway) for the NXT roster.
McIntyre confirmed to ESPN that he’s back with WWE. A report at WWE.com states, “The dormer WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has returned with his eye locked firmly on the NXT Championship.”
Drew McIntyre made his debut for WWE back in 2009 and remained on the main roster until 2014. Since then, he’s wrestled for independent promotions around the world and is a former TNA World Champion.
It appears Drew Galloway is headed to NXT as the former Impact World Champion was shown sitting ringside at tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Orlando event. Drew was mentioned by his former WWE name, Drew McIntyre.
Galloway left WWE back in 2014 and recently finished up with Impact Wrestling in February of this year.
Below are photos of Galloway in attendance tonight:

Former TNA Champion Drew Galloway is now a free agent after two years with the company. During an interview with The Scottish Sun, Galloway broke his silence on what led to his departure.
“They came to me last week with an offer and it was very very good one, one of the best in the company and a position as top guy but the reality is that because they waited until the last second I had to turn it down,” he said. “Everything was so last minute. I had to to think about back-up plans and family because it went to the wire.”
Earlier this week, Matt Hardy’s wife Reby appeared on the Busted Open radio show and described their negotiations in a similar manner. Reby said they didn’t receive their new offers until five days before they were going to become free agents. Things came down to the wire and she felt like they were being bullied into signing their deals.
“I was surprised I got no heads-up beforehand and when they got in touch last week they wouldn’t accept no for an answer and the financial offer was great so it was a very hard decision to make,” Drew said. “If all of this was said three weeks ago I would have signed.”
As for what’s next for him, Gallow is in no rush to make any rash decisions. He’s open to working with WWE again, but first he wants to explore all possibilities. He’s been on a long journey since he left WWE a decade ago and feels that he’s developed into a seasoned, well-rounded performer.
“I started wrestling at 15 and signed with world’s biggest company by 21 and then had to rebuild myself again … It has to be the right offer and in the end, I’m not a young kid anymore. WWE was my dream at 21 but these days it’s all business.”
Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Drew Galloway has announced that he’s leaving Impact Wrestling effective immediately. Galloway took to Twitter to notify his fans, and publicly thank TNA.
Galloway joined TNA two years ago and won their World Heavyweight Title in March of last year. Galloway has been a hot commodity on the independent circuit, and his next booking is on March 6th where he defends the WCPW Championship against Will Ospreay in Newcastle.
Galloway worked for WWE under the name Drew McIntyre until 2014.
The TNA contacts of “Broken” Matt and Jeff Hardy are expiring very soon if they have not already. Their is a lot of uncertainty surrounding their future with the company.
According to the Wrestling Observer, they have independent bookings scheduled through April and have told promoters that they can’t commit to any shows in May until they figure out what’s next for them. WWE has expressed interested in bringing the Hardy Boyz back, but they won’t make any offers until they are officially free agents.
Former TNA Champion Drew Galloway contract also expires this month, ahead of the next set of Impact television tapings. Surprisingly, TNA has not offered him a new deal yet.
Another former TNA Champion, Magnus, has been offered a contract to return, but has yet to sign it.
The WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup looks set to be one of the biggest events of the year and the entire event will be available to watch for free via the WCPW Youtube channel.

Finn Balor appeared at tonight’s ICW Fear & Loathing IX event in Glasgow and stopped Drew Galloway from helping his The Black Label team defeat Team Dallas in a match for the control of the promotion.
Video of the angle can be seen below. Balor also did an in-ring promo earlier in the show but that did not air on the iPPV portion of the show. The attack on Galloway did air, which is very interesting.
Balor is currently away from WWE TV with a shoulder injury and is not expected back until late January at the earliest. As noted, he was sent to the ICW event because RAW GM Mick Foley had to back out to attend WWE Survivor Series.
TNA has announced Drew Galloway will be unable to compete at TNA Bound For Glory in the Grand Impact Championship finals match. Galloway, who is dealing with a neck injury, says he still plans to be at the show.
– Drew Galloway revealed on Twitter that he’s currently out of action after taking a bad shot last week during a match. Galloway is scheduled to face Aron Rex at Bound For Glory to crown the first Impact Grand Champion. He tweeted on the injury:
– The main event of next week’s TNA Impact on POP will feature Lethal Lockdown with Team EC3 vs. Team Lashley, with the winner picking the stipulation for their World Championship Match at Bound For Glory on 10/2. Next week’s go-home show will also feature DJZ defending the X Division Championship against Eddie Edwards.
TNA President Billy Corgan announced on last night’s Impact that an eight-man tournament will be held to crown the first Impact Grand Champion. You can see video of the new Impact Grand Championship below. The King of the Mountain Championship is now officially retired.
Tournament participants include Drew Galloway, Aron Rex, Eli Drake, Jessie Godderz, Eddie Edwards, Mahabali Shera, Braxton Sutter and Trevor Lee. The finals will take place at the 10/2 Bound For Glory PPV from Orlando.

Following last night’s Impact on Pop, here are the brackets:
TNA star Drew Galloway recently sat down with former WWE writer Kevin Eck for an interview on PressBox Online. Galloway, who went under the name Drew McIntyre in WWE and was released by the company back in 2014, talked about the possibility of returning to the biggest wrestling company in the world.
“I can’t possibly say I’ll never go back [to WWE], but I can say that I’m very happy right now doing what I’m doing,” he said of his current career trajectory.
Galloway also talked about Kurt Angle, who he wrestled during Angle’s retirement tour. Galloway revealed that it was Kurt Angle’s idea to tap out to Galloway during their match because Angle wanted to put over Galloway on his way out.
“When he told me about the match and said I was going to tap him out, I tried to argue with him, but he was pretty adamant about really wanting to put me over in that way,” Galloway revealed. “I can never thank him enough for what he’s done for me.”
– TNA will announce the 2016 Hall of Fame inductee on Tuesday’s Impact episode, which airs on a slight tape delay from Orlando.
– Indy wrestler Paradyse, who also helps with TNA work behind the scenes, lost to Mandrews in a dark match before tonight’s Slammiversary PPV.
– As we noted earlier, Drew Galloway lost the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Bobby Lashley at Slammiversary. TNA tweeted this clip of Drew’s post-match reaction:
– TNA World Champion Drew Galloway tweeted the following on tonight’s Slammiversary PPV from Orlando, where he will defend against Lashley in the main event:
Drew Galloway predicts that Roman Reigns will be one of the biggest stars ever in wrestling, but he’ll need some time. In an interview with Sports Illustrated to promote tonight’s Slammiversary pay-per-view, the TNA World Heavyweight Champion praised WWE’s World Heavyweight Champ, saying that Roman is “such a talented guy.”
“People can see that he’s been protected a lot, which is understandable. If I was in a position of power, I’d put him in the exact same spot,” Galloway said of how Reigns is being written on WWE TV. “But it takes years to truly get over and get the fans fully behind you.”
Galloway says the fans have to go on a journey with a wrestler’s character of time in order for the character to truly “get over.”
“I won the [WWE] IC title, they saw 3MB, and it really does take a long time for people to get to know you. Truly getting over is a lot different than just getting a reaction, and time is what it takes,” Galloway said. “I understand that now. A couple years from now, or after he comes back from an injury, Reigns is going to be one of the biggest stars ever.”
Galloway also talked about another big star in wrestling, one who he calls his “hero,” Bret Hart. Galloway says Hulk Hogan may have been the “larger than life character,” but Bret was his favorite because he “wasn’t phony.” Galloway says Hart told compelling stories inside of the ring, and that’s “the most genuine thing in this business.” He also listed William Regal and Fit Finlay as other talent he really respects.
Drew Galloway is scheduled to defend his TNA World Heavyweight Title against Bobby Lashley at Sunday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view, and recently spoke to Total Wrestling Magazine about comparisons between his opponent and Brock Lesnar. Galloway says he feels that Lashley and Lesnar, both decorated amateur wrestlers, are “different kinds of athletes” from most pro wrestlers.
“[Lashley] is like a Brock Lesnar kind of athlete where they can do, literally, absolutely anything. They’re just genetically insane, they train insane, and when they put their mind to something, they’re going to do it,” Galloway said. “He’s the first ever guy to do MMA and pro wrestling at the same time.”
Galloway, who was released by WWE in June 2014, revealed that he and Lashley have wrestled on the mat for real before, and he didn’t have much luck against the former collegiate amateur wrestler.
“I legit have tried him a couple of times, and I’ve legit lost a couple of times where we’ve rolled around the ring together,” Galloway said of Lashley. “I’m willing to do that. I won’t stop.”
You can read his entire interview here. Slammiversary takes place this Sunday, June 12 at the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL.
TNA World Champion Drew Galloway spoke with Channel Guide Magazine this week to promote Sunday’s TNA Slamiverary PPV. Here are some highlights of what he said about:
Why fans should give TNA a chance:
“Everyone has really found their character and there are some exciting feuds going on. It’s not just one thing going on. There are a lot of unique characters and stuff going on creatively right now. I think this has been the strongest we have been in a while. I think for anyone who hasn’t given TNA a chance recently, I say for you to give it one shot. I guarantee it will change your mind because I genuinely believe in the product. I wouldn’t just say that.”
Sunday’s match against Bobby Lashley:
“I think we will be turning heads with this PPV. I love the chance to work with Bobby. I work a physical style myself. A lot of times, it’s me being the aggressor. Now I’m going against a guy who is bigger, faster, stronger this time. It’s really something to sink my teeth into and a chance to get everyone’s attention. I’m trying to create that believability in all my matches. But here you have the most believable guy. I never treated a match with him like a pro wrestler. I treat them like the beast he is. When you are against a guy like a Bobby Lashley, you have to be smart because he can snap a leg in one second. I treat him with that respect. I think it will increase the believability of it all because he is a legit as it gets.”
Recent WWE departures:
“For selfish reasons, I just want to be around all my friends. The reality is there are such talented guys out there right now. You have Cody [Rhodes], who is starting his plan. He is a smart guy and starting to plant the seeds. He is going to be just fine like I was. Damien Sandow is already getting himself out there. Whatever he decides to do, he will do well. Wade [Barrett] and I are very close friends. He is taking time out and enjoying the first bit of time off he has had in a while. You never know where he will turn up. So, selfishly, I would like to be around all my buddies. They would be massive assets to any company.”
