Drew McIntyre: “I’ll Drop CM Punk’s A** If He Pushes Me”

Drew McIntyre is pleased to see CM Punk bring big numbers to WWE, but won’t hesitate to ‘drop’ Punk if he’s pushed.

The former AEW World Champion returned to WWE in the closing moments of last month’s Survivor Series: WarGames event. The event marked Punk’s first WWE appearance since the 2014 Royal Rumble and his first appearance in wrestling since his AEW release in September of this year.

Drew McIntyre on CM Punk

During this week’s episode of Raw, CM Punk had a backstage confrontation with McIntyre as part of the Scottish Warrior’s ongoing heel run. Appearing on The Bump, McIntyre recalled being around Punk during their respective first runs in WWE, and gave a warning to the Best in the World.

“I was on television when I was 22 in 2007. I spent years, I was around the person. I know the person. I know what he’s truly like. I’m aware. It’s cool and does numbers. That’s awesome for right now.

“But I’m gonna wait and see right now ‘cause I can’t control who gets signed, who doesn’t get signed. I’ve got stories, I’m gonna keep them to myself. And in the future, if we cross paths, I ain’t the same guy as I was in 2010. I’m a lot bigger, smarter, more experienced, and I’ll drop his ass.”

McIntyre and CM Punk have yet to go one-on-one in WWE but they have shared the ring several times. Their most recent match was as part of a battle royal during the October 11, 2011, edition of SmackDown. The match was won by Randy Orton who unsuccessfully challenged World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry later in the show.

Drew McIntyre Awarded WWE World Heavyweight Title Shot Against Seth Rollins

WWE RAW will air a live episode of their show on January 1st, 2024. Now, fans have an even bigger reason to get excited about starting 2024 with the red brand.

Drew McIntyre has been on a tear since turning heel. He explained his reasoning for that decision, as he fought to earn what he thought was his in the first place. He wants a top title, and now he will get that shot.

https://twitter.com/DaColdOneIVS/status/1734381462319706419

Drew McIntyre will take on Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. This match will go down during their January 1st episode of RAW in San Diego, California. That is also a match that McIntyre has worked hard to get.

CM Punk was there as Adam Pearce broke the news backstage. Drew McIntyre, however, was not in any mood to talk. There were some old friends around, like Kofi Kingston, who showed up to say hello to CM Punk.

What’s next for Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is up just after WrestleMania 40. He hasn’t inked a new deal, but there is also plenty of time to work something out. The most recent report said that he is considering taking some time off with his family.

Drew McIntyre has been trying to earn his slot against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It appears that he will only have to wait a few more weeks to get that opportunity.

We will have to see who rings in the new year for WWE as World Heavyweight Champion. For more updates, please keep it tuned with us here at SE Scoops.

Drew McIntyre Contemplating Break from WWE Instead of Signing New Deal

Drew McIntyre’s recent heel turn provided a breath of fresh air for his character, but the real question is how much longer WWE will have him around. Despite his current run on top of the red brand, McIntyre’s future in WWE is uncertain

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that, much like Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract was also frozen during his injury hiatus. This will ensure that the former WWE Champion will be with the company “through WrestleMania.”

It was also noted that Drew McIntyre hasn’t signed a new deal with WWE yet. At this time, he is considering some time off, but there was also doubt that he would sit out any considerable amount of time due to his current momentum.

“In the case of McIntyre, as of this week, there was nothing new as far as what he was looking at doing. He’s considered a number of things, including taking time off to be with his family that he’s seen little of for so long. But he’s also in his prime earning years with the chance to probably make the most money in his career”

Drew McIntyre has made a name for himself outside WWE before, so he might just do that again. Saying that you want some time off for your family is also a good way to let your contract expire, even if there are All Elite intentions.

Drew McIntyre got fans talking when he stormed off after WarGames at Survivor Series. He was working, so that reaction was not authentic. The fact that he got the internet talking in such a way only further drives home his influence.

Tony Khan would almost certainly love to have the Scottish Psychopath on AEW television. Drew McIntyre has also worked with several members of the AEW locker room in the past, so it’s anyone’s guess what he will do next.

Drew McIntyre will be around WWE “through WrestleMania,” so fans can likely expect a program for him on the road to the show of shows in 2024. Then McIntyre will be at a very important crossroads for his career.

Drew McIntyre is “Already” a Better Boxer than Jake Paul After One Training Session

Jake Paul may not be a WWE Superstar just yet, but that hasn’t stopped Drew McIntyre from calling him out.

Paul’s brother Logan made his in-ring debut at last year’s WrestleMania, and has impressed fans with his ability in the ring.

For his Crown Jewel match with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Logan recruited his brother, but the pair failed to dethrone the Tribal Chief.

McIntyre Vs. Paul

Away from YouTube, Jake Paul has been making a name for himself in the world, of boxing, earning victories over YouTuber AnEsonGib, NBA star Nate Robinson and former MMA fighters Ben Askren.

Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva have also fallen to Jake Paul, but these wins haven’t impressed WWE’s Scottish Warrior.

This week, McIntyre joined Sheamus for an episode of Celtic Warrior Workouts, which saw them train with three-time world kickboxing champion Bernard “Swiftkick” Robinson.

Sharing the video on social media, McIntyre took aim at Paul saying that he was already a better boxer after one training session.

Sheamus responded to McIntyre’s bold claim and encouraged WWE to book the match.

Jake Paul’s next fight will take place today when he faces off against Tommy Fury, the brother of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Jake Paul in WWE

After the success of Logan Paul in WWE, it isn’t hard to see why some believe Jake could join the promotion.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Jake said he would consider joining WWE, but is concerned about the risk it could have on his boxing career.

I’m down. I just don’t want to get injured. My brother tore his MCL; it’s crazy out there. So, I just don’t want it to derail my boxing and all that, but I’m down.

“I love WWE. I love working with my brother. So that would definitely be something that could be on the horizon, for sure.”

Jake Paul.

As for Logan Paul, he is expected to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39 this April.

WWE Money In The Bank Tickets Quickly Sold Out

WWE is off to a great start with this year’s Money in the Bank event ahead of its July 1st date at the O2 Arena in London as tickets for the show that went on sale on Friday quickly sold out.

The Daily Mail’s Alex McCarthy first reported that tickets for the show sold out in just one minute after issues with Ticketmaster, leading to a brief delay in tickets being put on sale.

The demand was strong for the event as over 30,000 fans were trying to get tickets during the general on-sale on Ticketmaster alone.

Build It and They Will Come

While it will be a historic event as it marks the first time since the 1992 SummerSlam event that one of the big 5 PLEs (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, MITB, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) will be held in the UK, MITB will be without one notable name.

Roman Reigns is not advertised for the show. Instead, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Cody Rhodes are advertised to appear.

Reigns headlined the last PLE in the UK back in September with Clash at the Castle where retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre. Here is the updated WWE PLE schedule:

  • WWE WrestleMania 39 night one, Saturday, April 1
  • WWE WrestleMania 39 night two, Sunday, April 2
  • WWE Backlash, Saturday, May 6
  • WWE King and Queen of the Ring, Saturday, May 27
  • WWE Money in the Bank, Saturday, July 1
  • WWE SummerSlam Saturday, August 5

Huge Intercontinental Title Triple-Threat Planned for WrestleMania 39 (Report)

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER’s reign may be in serious jeopardy if WWE goes ahead with plans for a blockbuster triple-threat match at WrestleMania 39.

The Austrian powerhouse captured the title on WWE SmackDown in June of last year and is the longest-reigning champion since 2005.

If GUNTHER holds on to the gold for another week, he will surpass Shelton Benjamin’s reign and become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of this millennium.

WrestleMania 39

GUNTHER’s performance since coming to the main roster has been heralded by fans, as seen with the response to his record-shattering performance at last weekend’s Royal Rumble.

While it was previously reported that WWE was planning on GUNTHER Vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39, that no longer appears to be the case.

Wrestle Votes reports that WWE is considering an epic triple-threat in which the leader of Imperium will defend his title against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.

The Intercontinental Championship

McIntyre is a former IC Champion, winning the title in December 2009 and holding the gold until May 2010.

Though he was suspended (in storyline) and stripped of the title by then SmackDown GM Teddy Long, an edict by Mr. McMahon undid Long’s actions, and WWE counts McIntyre’s run as one, uninterrupted reign.

Sheamus is yet to hold the Intercontinental Championship, which is the only title he needs to complete the Grand Slam.

Both McIntyre and Sheamus have spoken previously about wanting to be the one to dethrone the Austrian, and Sheamus’ pursuit of the title led to the much-acclaimed match at WWE Clash at the Castle last September.

Gunther Sets Record for Longest Time in WWE’s Royal Rumble Match

The Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, has set a new record in the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match.

Gunther entered as number one, going up against Sheamus at the start of the Royal Rumble match. He outlasted 28 other opponents in the Royal Rumble before getting eliminated by a returning Cody Rhodes. While he didn’t win, he had a great showing and broke a new record.

The intercontinental champ has set the record for the most time spent in a Royal Rumble match. He lasted one hour, eleven minutes, and 25 seconds. The previous record holder was Rey Mysterio from the 2006 Royal Rumble match, with one hour, two minutes, and 12 seconds.

What’s Next For Gunther?

Although Gunther lost the Royal Rumble match, he had exciting encounters with several wrestlers. He had a standoff with Brock Lesnar, an opponent he has not faced. However, it seems WWE may have teased another match between Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.

In the match, Gunther eliminated both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at the same time. Sheamus and Gunther have unfinished business, but McIntyre has yet to go against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. McIntyre seems to be taking a step back from the universal title picture, so WWE could have him work with Gunther.

Regardless, WWE seems to be investing in Gunther to make him a threat to the company. While he didn’t win, it’s possible the company could have big plans for the Intercontinental Champion this year.

Banger Bros. No More: WWE Drops Ill-Conceived Tag Team Name

Former WWE Champions Sheamus and Drew McIntyre’s on-screen reunion has been greeted by respectable fan fare and a rather unfortunate choice of team name.

In a nod to Sheamus’ ‘Banger after banger after banger’ meme, his newly reformed team with Drew McIntyre was initially named The Banger Bros. The real-life pals were previously portrayed as allies back in 2020. At the time, Drew McIntyre was riding high as the lead babyface on RAW.

The usually heelish Sheamus enjoyed a quasi-face turn as the then-WWE Champion’s main ally. ‘The Celtic Warrior’s subsequent betrayal of McIntyre in early 2021 was poorly received by fans, with many feeling it had come too soon and ruined the angle.

Sheamus and the rest of his Brawling Brutes team turned babyface following notable fan support during his acclaimed feud with Intercontinental Champion Gunther last year.

Sheamus Gunther Imperium Brawling Brutes Clash at the Castle

Ahead of Survivor Series, he was reunited with McIntyre to feud with The Bloodline heading into Survivor Series. The pair unsuccessfully challenged The Usos for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships earlier this month. While the team garnered support from audiences, their-ill-fated team name recently caused some trouble.

WWE Drops Banger Bros. Due To XXX Connotations

It turns out there’s a pornographic website with an eerily similar name to Sheamus and Drew McIntyre’s team moniker. As a PG company, the prospect of a WWE act potentially leading to Google searches turning up something adults-only would be disastrous.

With this in mind, WWE have quickly vetoed the Banger Bros. moving forward. A similar incident occurred back in the summer of 2015. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were called up from NXT to form a faction with Paige dubbed The Submission Sorority. The name turned out to also belong to a pornographic, leading to a similar slew of search engine mishaps for those who wanted to look the team up.

The Submission Sorority were subsequently renamed Team PCB to sidestep any further confusion.

For now, the new moniker for the team remains unconfirmed. Both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre have joked about the name on social media in recent days.

What Happened with Drew McIntyre & Sheamus After WWE SmackDown?

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were unsuccessful in their bid to become Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, and that was just the start of a bad night.

In the main event, McIntyre and Sheamus faced The Usos for the gold but came up short against the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions.

This match had originally been scheduled for weeks in advance but didn’t take place when McIntyre was medically disqualified.

After SmackDown

Following this setback, McIntyre and Sheamus (now going by the unfortunate moniker the Banger Bros.) were trying to recover in the ring.

After SmackDown went off the air, the pair of former WWE Champions were attacked by the Viking Raiders.

Erik and Ivar laid out both men with Ragnaroks (their name for the double powerbomb) and after exiting the ring, had a moment with Valhalla (Sarah Logan.)

With this attack, it appears that the Banger Bros. will be sticking together for the time being.

What Else Happened?

This week’s SmackDown was the first of the new year, and WWE looked to kick off the blue brand’s 2023 with a bang.

SmackDown also saw Top Dolla and Hit Row turn heel, attacking Ricochet after the One and Only’s Royal Rumble qualifier victory over Dolla.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match for the Rumble was confirmed as Roman Reigns will defend against Kevin Owens.

New WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair kicked off her latest reign with a successful title defense against Sonya Deville.

Ex-WWE World Champions Set Their Sights On GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title

WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has dominated since winning the title, but 2023 is shaping up to be one very difficult year.

After debuting on the main roster in April, GUNTHER captured the Intercontinental title in June of this year, dethroning Ricochet.

Since then, GUNTHER has retained against Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Rey Mysterio, and had an acclaimed match with Sheamus at WWE Clash at the Castle.

Sheamus

Sheamus Vs. GUNTHER earned five stars from Dave Meltzer, but their Welsh war saw the leader of Imperium keep the gold.

On Twitter, Sheamus responded to a clip of the Clash at the Castle match, claiming that he will become Intercontinental Champion in 2023.

Sheamus is a former WWE, World Heavyweight, U.S., Raw, SmackDown, and WWE Tag Champion, but needs the Intercontinental Gold to complete both the Triple Crown and the Grand Slam.

Drew McIntyre

Sheamus is fixated on dethroning GUNTHER, but Drew McIntyre also has his sights on the Austrian and his title.

During this week’s ‘Absolute Best of 2022’ edition of Monday Night Raw, McIntyre declared his interest in the gold.

“I’ve got my eyes on GUNTHER with the Intercontinental Championship. I see the chatter on social media, I see what happened with himself and Sheamus, I saw the battles. I love competition, I’m a former Intercontinental Champion and I would love to tangle with that man.”

Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre’s one and only Intercontinental title reign saw him dethrone John Morrison at WWE: TLC in December 2009 and would hold the title for 161 days before losing to Kofi Kingston.

It has been reported that GUNTHER Vs. Brock Lesnar is also in the works for WrestleMania 39.

WWE is Taking No Chances With Drew McIntyre’s Ongoing Injury

Drew McIntyre will only be allowed to step back in the ring when WWE are beyond certain that he is fully healed from his current injury.

The two-time former WWE Champion had been scheduled to compete at the upcoming Boxing Day live event inside Madison Square Garden.

The eight-man tag-team match McIntyre had been scheduled to be in has been replaced with a standard tag match pitting The Usos against Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens.

Injury

McIntyre has missed several events this month and was “medically disqualified” from an Undisputed Tag Title match on the December 9, SmackDown.

It has not been confirmed what injury McIntyre is dealing with, though many believe that he suffered a ruptured ear drum during the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series: WarGames.

McIntyre’s last match was almost a month ago at a WWE Live event on December 27, in which he competed in an eight-man tag-team match.

Fully Healed

Drew McIntyre may have been able to work the upcoming Boxing Day WWE Live event, PW Insider reports.

It is noted that WWE officials are being extra cautious with the Scottish Warrior, and want him to be “beyond 100%” before he’s cleared to compete.

There is no word on when McIntyre will be allowed to wrestle again.

It was noted that Mcintyre has been eager to wrestle, even trying to compete before he was medically disqualified, but WWE officials overruled him.

Drew McIntyre Pulled from WWE MSG Holiday Tour Event

Drew McIntyre will be unable to compete at next week’s WWE live event from Madison Square Garden.

WWE’s Live Holiday Tour continued this coming Monday, with eight shows scheduled between Christmas and New Year’s:

  • New York, NY
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Cleveland, OH
  • Greensboro, NC
  • Miami, FL
  • Hershey, PA
  • Toronto, ON

McIntyre is still advertised for MSG as of this writing, but a report at PWInsider states that he won’t be medically cleared in time.

WWE sources have confirmed that the reason a change was made to their MSG main event for the annual post-Christmas event is that Drew McIntyre will not be cleared to return to the ring by the time the show takes place.

McIntyre Dealing with an Injury

Drew McIntyre has been pulled from several appearances this month, including a tag title match on the December 9 edition of SmackDown on Fox. WWE noted at the time that he was ‘medically disqualified’ from competing.

It’s believed he’s dealing with an injury. McIntyre was optimistic he’d be back in time for the Christmas-week tour, but he won’t be there on Monday.

McIntyre’s most recent match took place nearly a month ago. He competed on November 27 at a non-televised SuperShow from Portland, Maine. He teamed with Kevin Owens & The Brawling Brutes (Butch & Ridge Holland) to defeat The Usos, Sami Zayn & Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline.

Drew McIntyre On Vince McMahon’s Original Plans For 3MB

Drew McIntyre’s career in WWE started off on a high note. Vince McMahon himself hailed him as ‘The Chosen One’ and he looked all set to be the next star of the company. Things didn’t go as planned however and after the initial run, McIntyre slowly descended into the card until he reached the very bottom as part of the 3MB stable.

Though, according to the former WWE Champion himself, his inclusion in 3MB wasn’t meant to be a demotion and instead it was an effort from Vince McMahon to bring some personality out of him.

The WWE star was recently interviewed by Faction 919 where he talked about the different stages and milestones of his career. Speaking about his time in 3MB, Drew mentioned how there were many names suggested for the group but Vince chose him and Jinder Mahal to accompany Heath Slater:

“Vince McMahon looked at the ideas and went ‘these are kind of the obvious ones’ but he doesn’t think like everybody else.” said Drew McIntyre, “He went ‘No, no, I wanna see Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal.’ The two most serious guys, serious characters who have not shown anything but being serious.

Because he wants to see what we’ve got and gave us the opportunity [for] our personalities to shine a little more. In WWE, you can’t just be the same forever. It gets boring. You can’t just be angry all the time. Even when you’re winning titles. I was winning titles and just scowling all the time, for some reason, because I just wasn’t relaxed. I felt like I had to be that badass all the time.”

‘He Was Trying To Bring Something Out Of Us’: Drew McIntyre

Heath Slater and 3MB

Drew McIntyre recalled that he was plagued by personal issues at the time and wasn’t fit to be put in the top position in the company. He revealed that there were bigger plans in place for 3MB that couldn’t materialize because he got injured:

“He was trying to bring something out of us while at the same time couldn’t trust us in a prominent role. But [thought] ‘Okay, let’s see if these guys can come out of their shell a little bit more with Heath’ and that’s why 3MB was put together.

I had a broken wrist at the time, didn’t realize I needed surgery. So he did have bigger plans than ended up materializing, but six weeks after we formed, I had to get wrist surgery. I couldn’t touch anyone for about six months. So that kind of put the 3MB in the ground before we even started.”

Update on Drew McIntyre After Being Medically Disqualified (Report)

Drew McIntyre is expected to miss a few weeks of action after being medically disqualified from this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX.

During Raw, it was announced that McIntyre won’t be teaming with SmackDown this Friday to challenge Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos.

Injury

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that McIntyre’s medical disqualification stems from an injury.

He is injured. I was told an injury, but it’s not from a firsthand source. But he’s supposed to be back for the Christmas show. So it’s only a couple of weeks, I know that.”

Dave Meltzer.

Details remain unclear as to what exact injury the two-time former WWE Champion recently suffered.

The Will to Compete

McIntyre has been pulled from this Friday’s match, and nobody is more disappointed than the Scottish Warrior himself.

On his show, Meltzer explained that Drew was adamant about competing despite not being cleared by WWE’s medical team.

“He wanted to wrestle and they would not let him wrestle. But it’s not like it’s going to be a long-term thing, at least as it stands right now.”

Dave Meltzer.

With McIntyre on the shelf, Butch will team with Sheamus for the title match.

Drew McIntyre Pulled From Title Match on Friday’s WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre has revealed that he is not medically qualified to compete at this week’s WWE SmackDown.

The former WWE Champion was slated to team with Sheamus to challenge the winners of the Undisputed Tag Team Championship match on tonight’s Raw between The Usos and Matt Riddle & Elias this Friday night on SmackDown.

The Announcement

Drew McIntyre

He promised to return soon because he doesn’t like missing shows. However, he didn’t provide any specifics as to what the exact issue is. McIntyre wrote the following:

“Unfortunately I am medically disqualified to compete this Friday on #Smackdown. I don’t like to miss any shows as everybody knows but I promise I’ll be back soon.”

His last televised match was at Survivor Series in the Men’s WarGames match when the Bloodline (Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn & Solo Sikoa) defeated McIntyre, Kevin Owens & The Brawling Brutes (Butch, Ridge Holland & Sheamus). His last match happened on November 27 in a six-man tag team match at a house show.

Shayna Baszler (w/Ronda Rousey) vs. Shotzi (w/Raquel Rodriguez) and Kurt Angle’s birthday celebration is still advertised for this week’s SmackDown from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

We wish the best to McIntyre and hope to see him back in the ring soon.

WWE in Talks to Hold ‘Major Event’ in India (Report)

WWE is reportedly in talks to hold a “major show” in India. The company is planning to hold an event “on a grand scale” in Hyderabad, India, according to a report by Riju Dasputa of Sportskeeda. The roster that will be featured on the show will have both Indian and international talent.

Drew McIntyre was reportedly vocal about bringing WWE to India, and sources considered him a “lock” for the event. The top WWE star recently worked on a Bollywood project in India.

The Show

triple h survior series presser

Per the report, sources noted that the likely date for the event is January 18, which was first reported by WrestleVotes as the company has been considering doing the event, but now has advanced to talks about doing it in the country.

WWE previously held an Indian show, Superstar Spectacle, on January 22, 2021, and the show aired on January 26 to coincide with India’s Republic Day

It was produced as part of WWE’s deal with Sony Pictures Networks India, and was billed as “a unique showcase of Indian-inspired action,” which also featured elements of Indian culture.

It’s unclear whether the reportedly planned event is a follow-up to Superstar Spectacle. That event was headlined by Drew McIntyre and The Indus Sher (Rinku and Saurav) defeating The Bollywood Boyz (Samir Singh and Sunil Singh) and Jinder Mahal.

Drew McIntyre Believes Tyson Fury is “Custom Fit” for WWE

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has aligned with his old friend Sheamus and The Brawling Brutes in their battle against The Bloodline leading into WWE Survivor Series WarGames.

The Bloodline brutally attacked Sheamus on a recent edition of the blue brand and sent him to a “local medical facility” (hospital). The Celtic Warrior returned last week and helped The Brawling Brutes against Roman Reigns, The Usos and Solo Sikoa.

As of now, there has not been a men’s WarGames match announced for the premium live event on November 26th. It seems likely that it will be the Brutes versus Bloodline at Survivor Series in a WarGames match.

Sheamus, Butch, Ridge Holland, and Drew McIntyre still need one more superstar on their team if it does turn into a WarGames match. McIntyre sang a tune with boxer Tyson Fury after his loss to Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle and perhaps he could be the final member of the squad for WarGames.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Drew said that he’d love to see Tyson Fury in WWE one day. McIntyre added that Tyson would fight in the company after he decides to hang up his boxing gloves.

Oh, a hundred percent [Fury is perfect for WWE]. Tyson and I go from arguing with each other on social media to singing with each other in Cardiff to make sure the fans go home happy, no matter how I felt personally in the moment.

You’ve gotta sometimes swallow your pride and make sure the fans are happy. But Tyson gets it, he’s an entertainer, he’s top of his field, and when he chooses to hang up the boxing gloves, he’s very much custom fit for WWE.

Drew McIntyre Praised for Being a Workhorse in WWE

Drew McIntyre has been pushed as a top star in WWE for the last few years because of his passion for the business and putting in the work. Throughout his career with the company, he has won various titles.

McIntyre’s hectic schedule has also earned him props from his co-workers as well.  The former WWE Champion beat Karrion Kross in a singles match at the Crown Jewel event and did so after a busy schedule and working with an illness.

Mcintyre had to overcome outside interference by Scarlett in the bout to be victorious.

Drew McIntyre’s Praise

Drew McIntyre

According to PW Insider, there are a few people in WWE praising McIntyre for his commitment to the company as he went from The United States to Germany and Switzerland for house shows, then went to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel before traveling to India to film what was described as a “movie role” the company set up with Sony, then flew right back to the United States to work the SmackDown show and this past weekend’s live events.

McIntyre has aligned with The Brawling Brutes and will likely face The Bloodline at the WWE Survivor Series on November 26th.

Drew McIntyre Teasing ‘Big Things’ With Bollywood Star Varun Dhawan And More

Drew McIntyre is currently in India working on an undisclosed project for Sony Sports Network and he is teasing collaborations with top Bollywood stars such as Varun Dhawan and John Abraham.

The former WWE champion has been on a tour of the country after the Crown Jewel PPV. He defeated Karrion Kross in a brutal match while battling health issues during the PLE from Saudi Arabia.

McIntyre has been engaging with local fans throughout the trip. On the very first day he tweeted about Surya Kumar Yadav, who has been the explosive face of India’s campaign in the ongoing T20 Cricket World Cup.

Drew McIntyre In India

Drew McIntyre and Varun Dhawan

WWE or Sony have not revealed the true purpose behind Drew McIntyre’s India visit. The Scottish Warrior, however, has been teasing collaborations with some top names from Bollywood.

The WWE star recently posted a photo with action hero John Abraham. He teased the Indian fans with an upcoming surprise, claiming that there are some ‘big things coming.’

Drew then shared another picture with one of the rising faces of Bollywood in India in Varun Dhawan. McIntyre touted Dhawan as a big fan of the business and interestingly mentioned the possibility of a future WWE event in India:

Varun Dhawan Loves WWE

Varun Dhawan has been pretty open about his love for pro wrestling and he had several interactions with none other than The Rock himself.

Their most famous interaction came back in 2016 when Dhawan mimicked The Great One during an appearance on Comedy Nights With Kapil.

The People’s champion had actually responded to this impression and praised the Bollywood star for it. The two fitness freaks also recently exchanged tweets over the release of Black Adam.

WWE has collaborated with many international stars from different streams who share a passion for the business in the past. People such as Bad Bunny and Logan Paul are some of the most recent additions to this list.

If their next target is to increase exposure in India then Varun Dhawan is the perfect name to bring on board and maybe even get involved in some future storylines.

Top WWE Star Was Extremely Sick Before Brutal Crown Jewel Match

Drew McIntyre was able to defeat Karrion Kross at the recent WWE Crown Jewel event but had to fight off more than the former NXT Champion and Scarlett.

In the third match on the card, McIntyre defeated Kross in a Steel Cage match, escaping over the top of the structure before Kross escaped through the door.

This match follows on from Kross getting the win at last month’s WWE Extreme Rules event in a Strap Match.

Feeling Sick

McIntyre was able to overcome both Kross and Scarlett (who maced him during the match) but also had to overcome a severe case of flu. The former WWE Champion had been “extremely sick” over the last several days before the show, according to PWInsider.

McIntyre gutted through his cage match, and was said to be “adamant” that the match go ahead despite his illness.

This isn’t the first time McIntyre has health with illness, as he was pulled from a WWE Live event in September due to “bad food poisoning.”

Despite the food poisoning, the Scottish Warrior still appeared on that week’s SmackDown.

What’s next?

In a backstage post-match interview, McIntyre said he was closing the book on Kross and bringing their feud to an end.

That may be easier said than done, given that the finish of the match was far from clean.

McIntyre did not pin Kross during their match, and the final moments of the bout saw Scarlett struggle to unlock the door to allow her husband to escape.

It is entirely possible that this feud could be extended to a rubber match given that both men have one PLE victory each.

Drew McIntyre Reacts To 15th Anniversary Since WWE Debut

Drew McIntyre has offered his reaction to the 15th anniversary since making his WWE debut.

McIntyre took to Twitter and reflected on 15 years since making his debut with the company on an October episode of SmackDown in 2007. He noted that he had only been in the United States for two weeks at the time and the titantron had gotten his name wrong.

Check out what he had to say here:

“15 years ago this fresh faced kid made his @WWE debut. I had only been in America for about 2 weeks, the titantron got my name wrong, and I didn’t know what a hard-cam was or how to find it. Craziest part is I’m still 37 years younger than @WWESheamus

McIntyre’s first run with WWE lasted from 2007 to 2014. After being released from the company, he spent three years on the independent circuit reinventing himself before returning to WWE.

Drew McIntyre

Throughout his time with WWE, the Scottish star has racked up two WWE Title wins, an Intercontinental Title run, an NXT Champion, and a two-time RAW Tag Team Champion. McIntyre was also the winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble match.

Now, Drew McIntyre is one of the top stars over on SmackDown Live on Friday nights, and still very much involved in the World Title picture.

Drew McIntyre Is Not A Fan Of Logan Paul Getting A World Title Shot

WWE’s decision to put Logan Paul in a world title match at Crown Jewel has divided fan opinion. Drew McIntyre seems to be opposed to the idea of the YouTube star getting a world title shot without working his way up the card.

The former WWE champion recently had an interview with MySanantonio.com. He talked about things such as his match against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle.

Speaking about the upcoming match between Paul and Roman Reigns, McIntyre said that he understands the celebrity involvement. However, he then explained that the title should be reserved for people who have put in the time:

“Logan Paul has done a great job, but I don’t know about fighting for the titles. I think the titles should be reserved for people who worked up the card and put the time in.

It will be a spectacle and Roman will smash him and people will talk about it.” said Drew McIntyre, “That is what it is all about, I guess.”

The Scottish Warrior then claimed that he will do exactly the same and work his way up to get another chance to win the WWE Universal championship. He will beat the entire Bloodline to get his hands on the world title again.

Apart from this, Drew McIntyre talked about things such as Vince McMahon retiring from WWE and more. You can check out his full interview here.

Drew McIntyre Was Concerned Fans Would Riot After WWE Clash at the Castle Headliner

Drew McIntyre faced off against Roman Reigns at the WWE Clash at the Castle event for the Undisputed Universal Championship in Cardiff, Wales.

Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut and helped Reigns win the match. This surprised some fans as many felt the event was built around McIntyre winning the title in the stadium.

While speaking with My San Antonio, McIntyre said he was happy with the atmosphere that fans generated but admitted he was concerned that fans would riot after the match because of the finish.

McIntyre Opens up on his Concern

Drew McIntyre

“But they [fans] were 100 percent for me and against Roman and the atmosphere was great. I even asked Roman afterwards – because he has been a part of these matches with big crowds – have you heard anything like that, and he said ‘No.’ You’d be hard-pressed to find a crowd that was that loud consistently throughout, especially our match. It was a World Cup soccer match the way they were shouting — the way they were singing their songs and chanting ‘F-U Roman’ the entire time. And they were not happy with that finish. I was generally concerned about rioting.”

McIntyre will battle Karrion Kross in a strap match at Saturday’s Extreme Rules event. Reigns will defend his title against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel next month.

Drew McIntyre: Vince Told Me “Don’t Listen to Anybody but The Undertaker”

Drew McIntyre has become one of WWE’s biggest stars in years, and he has The Undertaker to thank in playing a role.

McIntyre signed with WWE in 2007 and after a brief spell on SmackDown, returned to the blue brand in 2009 as ‘the Chosen One.’

It wouldn’t be until 2020 that McIntyre would fulfill Vince McMahon’s promise that he’d become WWE Champion, winning the title at WrestleMania 36.

Working with the Deadman

Drew McIntyre and the Undertaker shared the ring only a handful of times, but the two were close behind the scenes.

Speaking to Hollywood Raw, the Scottish Warrior explained how he became a personal project of the Deadman.

“It was awesome. He was put in charge of me probably against his will, when I was about 23. That was about the time where I think the powers that be realized that the older generation were starting to retire. [They] weren’t going to be there forever and they had to start pushing some youth to the front.”

McIntyre was right, as, in 2007, The Undertaker would begin taking lengthy periods off TV, and by 2010, was competing in just a handful of matches a year.

The Youth Movement

McIntyre learned plenty working with The Deadman, but he wasn’t the only young Superstar being groomed for greatness.

Over on Raw, Sheamus was moved to the red brand in 2009, and ended the year as WWE Champion.

In the interview, Drew explained how his real-life best friend also had a mentor of his own.

“Sheamus and I were kind of the first two people they took as the kind of projects. With Sheamus on Raw and myself on SmackDown. Sheamus was put under the Triple H learning tree and I was going to The Undertaker learning tree. Vince said ‘You don’t listen to anybody but The Undertaker.’

“Vince said ‘You don’t listen to anybody but The Undertaker.'”

Drew McIntyre.

“I wish I thought the way I think now back then, because [his] wrestling IQ is obviously off the charts. At the time, mine was a lot lower than it is now. So many of those lessons that I got, just flew right over my head. Thankfully I remembered a few.”

McIntyre Today

After capturing the WWE Championship, McIntyre was relied upon to carry the company through the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the Undertaker, who he called the “coolest guy in the room,” McIntyre said the Phenom’s presence backstage would pay off years later for him.

“You could feel him when he walked in the room. It’s such a presence. If there was a situation, it was always dealt with calmly by him. So it’s such an impact on me. How to be a leader. How to conduct yourself.”

Drew McIntyre Reveals Who He Would Like To Induct Him Into Hall Of Fame

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus have had very similar career paths. They both started their wrestling careers around the same time and got signed by WWE less than a year apart. Both the stars were positioned as future main eventers from early on in Raw and SmackDown respectively.

While their careers differed a bit after that, both have had a resurgence in the last few years. More importantly, they have been best friends through all these ups and downs and their friendship has only gotten stronger with time

During a recent interview with the Hollywood Raw podcast, the Scottish Warrior was asked which star he would like to induct him into the Hall of Fame. It’s only fitting that Drew McIntyre took the name of Sheamus:

‘It’s Gotta Be Sheamus’: Drew McIntyre

“Oh God, it’s gonna end up being Sheamus, ain’t it? He’s been there since before we both got signed. The good times, the bad times. I am best man at his wedding coming up. He was best man at my wedding.

We give each other hell all the time. As everybody sees, we fight more than me and my actual brother. What people get to see on TV as well as backstage they don’t get to see. But yeah, it’s gotta be Sheamus.”

Both Drew McIntyre and Sheamus wrestled in highly praised matches during the Clash At The Castle PPV. The Celtic Warrior has since continued his feud with Gunther while McIntyre has been pulled from the road due to food poisoning.
