  • McMahon’s Reacton To Danielson, WWE Purchases Tape Library

    — WWE has reportedly purchased the Ultimate Pro Wrestling video library.

    The California-based UPW — which is now defunct — was often used as a training ground for prospective wrestling talent as it was stepping stone in the development of many past and present mainstream performers including John Cena, Samoa Joe, Chris Masters, Tara (a/k/a Victoria), Christopher Daniels, Jon Heidenreich, The Miz, Melina, Sim Snuka, Mike Knox, SoCal Val and Lena Yada.

    — Vince McMahon was reportedly pleased with Daniel Bryan’s performance on last night’s premiere episode of WWE NXT as he felt they made him “a star” in one night as a result of his interaction with The Miz and match with Chris Jericho.

    — The final episode of ECW drew a 1.14 cable rating with 1.45 million viewers, up from its final weeks.

  • Rating For Tuesday’s ECW, Who Brie Bella Is Dating, More

    — Last night’s episode of ECW On SyFy featuring Vince McMahon’s major announcement concerning the future of the brand scored a final cable rating of 1.05 (rounding up to 1.1), with 1.413 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. This is an increase from the 0.9 figure the show has been drawing in recent weeks.

    — Nikki Bella noted on her Twitter account that sister Brie is dating Richie Kotzen, a guitarist formerly of the rock bands Poison and Mr. Big.

    — Dolph Ziggler noted on his Twitter account that he is heading to Instanbul, Turkey, presumably to promote WWE’s show there in April.

  • Helms Pulled As WWE’s “Superstar of the Day”, ECW Rating

    — Apparently in response to the negative publicity Gregory Helms’ arrest Wednesday morning for public intoxication is receiving, the WWE website pulled his “Superstar of the Day” photo this afternoon, replacing The Hurricane with Cody Rhodes.

    In another note, WWE forgot to remove the hyperlink beneath the photo leading to The Hurricane’s bio.

  • Two Former ROH Champions Face Off In WWE Developmental

    — In a battle of former ROH World Champions, Kaval (Low Ki) defeated Bryan Danielson with a double stomp at last night’s Florida Championship Wrestling television taping in Tampa. Danielson is expected to stay in developmental for only a few weeks before being called up to the main roster.

    — This week’s episode of ECW scored a 1.0 cable rating, up 0.1 from the previous week.

    — WWE’s return to the Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas has been moved to Saturday, February 27th, 2010 and changed to a Smackdown/ECW house show. The event was originally going to be a Raw house show on Friday, February 26th, 2010. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)
