– WWE Hall of Famer Edge will be undergoing another neck surgery on November 8th and is expected to have a 4-month recovery period. He made the announcement on this week’s Matthew Aaron Radio Show.

– Jim Powers, who appeared for the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling, is presently hospitalized after acquiring an infection following hip surgery last month.
The former Young Stallions member underwent hip replacement surgery on August 3. After undergoing a second surgery three weeks later, he acquired a staph infection. The 54-year-old is currently in a rehabilitation facility receiving antibiotics through an IV. He is expected to remain in the facility for at least two more weeks and will then undergo hip surgery again.
– Chris Jericho and his band Fozzy appears at retail outlet Sound Check Hollywood (located 8872 West Sunset Boulevard West Hollywood, CA 90069) on Thursday beginning at 7:00 p.m. for an autograph signing. Additional details are available at SoundCheckHollywood.com.

Edge remains a free agent and actually turned down a WWE contract offer earlier this year. Edge continues to pursue his acting career but is open to working with WWE when it makes sense for both sides.
– Friday’s Trendrr.tv social media score was 84,001, down about 3.5% from the week before but still #1 on cable for the night. This is the fifth week in six weeks that SmackDown was #1.
– Meanwhile, Syfy’s Haven, which featured Edge, ranked in the top 4 with a 27,094 in social media activity.
– Here is this week’s episode of Santino’s Foreign Exchange, which features Johnny Curtis auditioning against Yoshi Tatsu to be Santino’s “international correspondent”. Curtis auditions with a VHS sizzle reel with a cameo by Kaitlyn. Santino has asked the fans to vote on who gets to be his correspondent.
– Promoting his upcoming appearances on Syfy’s supernatural drama series Haven, former WWE talent Adam “Edge” Copeland explained in an interview with TheTVAddict.com why he cut his signature locks last spring prior to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“I was just tired of having long hair. I just chopped it off before I got inducted in the Hall of Fame for WWE in April. The day before, I just thought, ‘Why not come out on stage with a new haircut?’ So I did,” he said.
“And I thought if Dwight’s an ex-Army Ranger, at some point he’s had short hair so it’s not that far a stretch that he would have short hair again. Then in the context of timeline-wise, you can get your haircut any day and look different. I don’t know. I just wanted to do it.”

– Afa Anoa’i, Jr., who appeared as Manu for WWE in 2008 and 2009, is on Twitter at twitter.com/samoanstorm. Since leaving the spotlight, he has continued to compete for numerous independent promotions.
– The Great Khali is tentatively scheduled to return to WWE’s squared circle in approximately a month.
In late July, Khali, whose real name is Dalip Singh, underwent surgery to remove a pituitary gland tumor that’s the cause of his tremendous size. The tumor was discovered through WWE’s Talent Wellness Program, according to a report by ABC News. It was noted that he would be healthy enough to return to the ring within months.
– Promoting the third season of Haven on Syfy, former WWE talent Adam “Edge” Copeland discussed making the transition from professional wrestling to acting during an interview with SciFiAndTvTalk.
“Once I became a wrestler and then as the years progressed I came to the realization that, well, I’ve done everything there is to do in wrestling, and now I can’t get cleared physically to do it any more, so what can I do? Anytime I’d done any acting I really enjoyed it, and it’s something creative,” Copeland said. “No matter what it is, I have to do something creative. That’s just the way I’m wired. I don’t do well in offices, so I need be doing something, whether it’s writing a book, painting, drawing, the theatrics of the WWE or acting, I need this. So I guess it [acting] is somewhat of a natural extension of the wrestling, but it was a happy accident, for sure.”

– The official WWE website released a statement Wednesday afternoon confirming reports on Jerry “The King” Lawler’s condition following his heart attack during Monday’s live Raw broadcast.
The statement reads, “As of Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2012, Jerry “The King” Lawler remains in a cardiac care unit in Montreal. His vital signs continue to be stable. He is awake, recognizes family members and is communicating with them. We continue to wish Jerry all the best for a full recovery.”
– WWE Hall of Famer Edge attended Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Ottawa, Canada, because his protégé, Leah Von Dutch, participated in a private tryout before company officials.
Last September, Edge held the first ever “Edgucational” Essay Scholarship Contest. The most decorated Superstar in WWE history created this contest because as a teenager, he entered a professional wrestling essay writing contest for a major Toronto newspaper and was the winner. Edge’s prize was for the winner to receive free professional wrestling lessons, and the contest was won by Von Dutch.
Four other wrestlers received tryouts. William Regal, who helped coordinate the evaluation session, stressed that WWE is now scouring for “ROH style” wrestlers.

The WWE Superstar who Vince McMahon predicted would be a ‘future World Champion’ has languished since being drafted to the Raw brand in April 2011. He was largely confined to dark matches, WWE Superstars and putting over talent before transferring back to SmackDown late in the year, where the trend continued.

– WWE is getting great feedback on the new set that’s being used at live events. Wrestlers’ entrances come across better, as do the promo videos that air throughout the show. — Edge’s WWE contract expired on April 30th and he has not signed a new deal with the company. When he made a surprise appearance on RAW several weeks ago and gave John Cena a pep talk, he was there to meet with WWE officials, but nothing came of it.
He was forced to pull out of a scheduled appearance for Billy Corgan’s Resistance Pro Wrestling show on 5/11 because of his filming schedule for Syfy’s “Haven” show, but he did promise to appear at a future RPW show.
— Michael Cole’s heel announcer gimmick was supposed to officially end at WrestleMania 28. His new role is to be an “edgy” character who still respects John Laurinaitis, one of WWE’s top heels. A recent sign of Cole retreating from being an annoying heel and shifting to a more neutral role was that he was sympathetic towards John Cena during his feud with Brock Lesnar.

He apologized for the inconvenience, but promises to appear at another RESISTANCE Pro event in the VERY near future.

WWE Hall of Famer Edge made a surprise appearance on Monday’s RAW Supershow from Detoit, giving John Cena a pep talk about what its going to take to defeat Brock Lesnar this Sunday at Extreme Rules.
It turns out that Edge was at RAW to do more than just motivate Cena. Edge was at RAW to negotiate a new “Legends” contract, according to pwinsdier.com.
News broke recently that Edge’s WWE contract is expiring soon – and WWE reportedly tried offering Edge a “lowball” deal. While the exact figure that WWE offered Edge is not yet known, it’s believed that Shawn Michaels makes around $300,000 a year from WWE under his current deal. It’s said that the contract WWE offered recently Edge wasn’t even offered close to what Michaels makes.
No word yet on how Monday night’s contract negotiations went.

Though Edge’s in-ring career is over, the news is considering surprising considering that he headlined last month’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the organization has kept other major retired figures (such as Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin) under contract.
