Elias Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension With WWE

Elias has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with WWE.

The news was first announced by Ryan Satin on the latest episode of WWE Backstage and the company later confirmed it on their website with a post as well.

The Drifter started his wrestling career in 2008 and was signed by WWE in 2014. He was assigned to the NXT brand after his signing where he stayed until 2017.

Elias then made his main roster debut in April 2014. Though he spent the first few months of his main roster stint, appearing on various backstage segments.

The former NXT star was drafted to SmackDown Live during the 2019 draft and has been a part of the Blue Brand’s roster ever since.

He took part in the King Of The Ring tournament last year and made it to the semi-finals. However, he was later removed from the competition due to an ankle injury.

With this announcement, Elias has joined a long list of stars WWE has successfully managed to re-sign in recent months ever since the inception of AEW.

The company has not revealed any detail on Elias’ contract so it’s hard to say how long he will be staying with the promotion. But in recent times the standard length for new WWE contracts have been 4 to 5 years.

Elias On His Championship Ambitions, The WWE Universe

WWE Superstar Elias took part in an interview with The Commercial Appeal ahead of tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which takes place from the FedExForum in Memphis.

The former WWE 24/7 Champion looked to the year ahead, detailing his plans and championship aspirations. Elias has set his eyes on one title, in particular: the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Once he has claimed that gold, Elias would then like to eventually be in contention for the WWE Universal Championship.

“I’ve got every tool you could imagine to get there, so it’s just a matter of opportunity and timing, as far as I’m concerned,” Elias said.

Elias And The WWE Universe

Elias returned to WWE programming in late November. He explained how his time away from the ring was spent travelling the world, noting how he spent time reflecting about what he has to do in order to get to the top of WWE. Elias came to an epiphany when he realized he wanted the support of those he has rejected over the years: the WWE Universe.

“They need to be on your side, and it just so happens I’ve got the power to manipulate people with my music, with my words, with everything I do, and it looks like that is the approach I am going to have to take moving forward,” Elias confessed.

When it comes to his music, Elias admitted that for most “the truth can hurt.” He is confident, however, that his return to Memphis won’t be ruined by previous things he may have said or sung. Instead, he believes that this time his truth will be accepted on a much grander level by those in attendance.

Backstage Update On Shane McMahon Replacing Elias In KOTR Match

Elias recently suffered an ankle injury which forced WWE to remove him from the announced King Of The Ring semi-finals at this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Shane McMahon replaced the Drifter in his match against Chad Gable and a latest report from PWInsider provides some details on the backstage process of this decision.

According to the site, WWE had originally thought of doing a Battle Royal to determine a new challenger for Gable in the semi-final of the tournament but this idea was dismissed.

Vince McMahon then made the call to have Shane McMahon fight the former NXT Star instead. This saw the former SmackDown Commissioner make his return to WWE programming after being away due to jury duty in the past few weeks.

Shane McMahon faced Gable in a 2 out of 3 falls match at this week’s episode of SmackDown Live and he had appointed Kevin Owens as the special guest referee for the bout.

McMahon had promised to forget the $100,000 storyline fine against the former Universal Champion if he helped him win the match on the show.

Though Owens did not help the Best In The World and Shane ended up losing the bout. This resulted in him attacking Kevin and the show ended with McMahon firing Kevin Owens from his job.

Chad Gable will now face Baron Corbin in the King Of The Ring finals at next week’s Raw. There is no word yet on where the company is headed with the storyline between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens.

Elias On The King Of The Ring Tournament, His WWE Goals, And Evolving His Character

Elias is one step closer to becoming the King of the Ring. He defeated Ali last night on SmackDown Live to advance into the semi-finals of the tournament.

In an interview with Chuck Carroll of CBS Sports, Elias spoke about the King of the Ring tournament, his time in NXT, and the importance of evolving his character.

Reflecting on this history of the King of the Ring tournament, Elias admitted that the first one he watched was the tournament won by King Mabel. He’s glad they brought it back, calling it a “very prestigious tournament within the WWE.”

When asked over his goals in WWE, Elias responded that his ultimate goal is the main event at WrestleMania.

“If that means winning the Universal Championship, if that means winning the WWE Championship, that’s a part of it,” he added. “But really staking my claim as the number-one guy in the WWE, in the business as a whole, that everybody can say, WWE is cool and Elias is the guy making it cool.”

NXT Preperation

Elias spoke about his time in NXT before becoming a part of WWE’s main roster. He highlighted that, even though NXT shows were pre-recorded, everything about the production and performances was live. He explained that this process helped prepare him for his RAW debut.

“I felt fully prepared to take on live television because that was essentially how we treated it in NXT anyways,” he said. “The fact is now more eyes are going to be on NXT. I just think more people are going to see how good the talent really is across the board.”

When asked if he would make a cameo on NXT after it moves to USA Network, Elias said, “If an opportunity shows up, I’m always ready to take it. If the story was right then yeah, absolutely, I can see that happening. I mean why not? It’s a ratings-driven business. There are certain stars on RAW and SmackDown that draw ratings. NXT is going to do great, but it wouldn’t hurt to add some help in the mix. I could see a crossover happening absolutely. All on the same network as well.”

Evolution Of Elias

Formerly known as ‘The Drifter’ in NXT, Elias has implemented tweaks and changes to his character since becoming a part of the main roster, admitting that “there comes a time in every wrestler’s career, if you really want to take those next steps, you’re going to have to evolve.”

He continued, “You can’t constantly be doing the same thing. While I really do enjoy performing in the ring and all that, there’s going to come a time where I can’t be doing that every single week. Now, as far as that being my farewell performance, I don’t know if I want to say that is my last one, because it was ruined. R-Truth went at me, he messed up all the audio, he messed with my guitar. He tried to win the 24/7 Championship. Is that my farewell? I have to say no. But would there come a time where I have to do that? Quite possibly.”

With his victory over Ali, Elias is set to face off against Chad Gable next week on the 9/10 episode of SmackDown Live. The winner will go on to face the winner of Samoa Joe, Ricochet, and Baron Corbin at Clash of Champions.

Fox Analyst Wins 24/7 Title, Elias Wins It Back

The 24/7 title has changed hands a couple of times so far this weekend. R-Truth brought the title with him onto a Fox College Football broadcast yesterday when analyst Rob Stone decided to take an opportunity to become a WWE champion himself.

WWE posted the most recent 24/7 title changes to their YouTube channel:

Truth appeared to slip or was tripped from behind, allowing Stone to pin him and win the title.

Unfortunately for Stone, however, Elias was waiting in the wings with a referee. Elias then scored the roll-up victory to win the title mere moments after Stone had won the belt.

Stone was still happy enough with his brief title run to post the following to Twitter, however:

Updated 24/7 Championship Statistics

The WWE 24/7 title has changed hands a total of 38 times since its inception this spring. Only four people have held the title for longer than a day, however:

  • R-Truth (13x) 61 combined days as champion.
  • Drake Maverick (4x) 16 combined days as champion.
  • Elias (4x current) 13+ days as champion
  • Maria Kanellis (1x) 7 combined days as champion.

If Elias can make it through Wednesday as champion, he’ll pass Drake Maverick as the second most successful 24/7 title champion in history.

Elias Comments On Progressing In The King Of The Ring Tournament

Last night, Elias defeated Kevin Owens to advance in WWE’s King of the Ring tournament. His victory was assured thanks to the actions of his good friend, Shane McMahon.

Speaking with WWE.com after his win, Elias kept a wary eye on his surroundings, ready to defend his 24/7 Championship if need be.

Elias spoke about his new theme music, commenting on how he wrote, recorded, and brought it to WWE, sharing he was unsure whether he would release it or not.

“Big week for Elias. In fact, every week is a big week for Elias, because any time Elias is on television it’s special. […] I’ve gotta believe you’re feeling incredible right now being in the presence of Elias.”

He then moved the interview to another part of the room, not wanting to be in a position to be trapped in case anybody attempted to win his 24/7 title.

“[…] then I advanced in the King of the Ring, can you believe it? And sure, Shane McMahon might have helped out. He’s a good guy. A real good guy. He’s always got my back; I’ve always got his. What’s the problem? All I can say, is long live Elias. Long live the King. Long live King Elias.”

The King of the Ring tournament continues next week. Elias will face off against the winner of Ali vs Murphy.

Elias Says There’s A Story To Be Told From His Segment With Edge

WWE 24/7 Champion Elias recently spoke with The Argus Leader to talk about a wide range of pro wrestling related topics and to promote Tuesday’s SmackDown Live TV event from Sioux Falls, SD.

During the interview, he brought up his segment with Edge at SummerSlam. This is where Elias noted that there’s a whole story behind the segment that will come out one day.

Elias talked about how he was all over the place at SummerSlam and anytime he can get involved in anything, he tries to make the best of it.

“There’s a whole story to that’ll come out someday. But what a moment that was, the crowd began to go insane when he came out there. So that was really something to be a part of.”

Edge: “I Think I Could Do A Match Tomorrow”

Elias talked about how later in the show he was a special enforcer with the Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens match. He noted that he did everything he could to stop Owens but Owens just outsmarted everybody.

At the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event in Toronto, Ontario, Elias was doing a concert on the pre-show where he was interrupted by Edge. The hometown star hit Elias with a spear to end the segment.

This was an interesting moment as it marked the first physical angle since Edge was forced to retire several years ago.

Elias Allegedly Cut The Promo Jon Moxley Hated

Jon Moxley spoke openly with Chris Jericho during his interview on Talk Is Jericho. One of the things addressed was his hatred of WWE’s scripted promos.

One script, however, was just too much for him, and so he pushed back. This promo, intended for an LA audience, contained the now infamous phrase “pooper scooper.” The note he got back from creative when he questioned them informed him that he needs to “read his promos verbatim and not try to rewrite them.”

It was noted by Dave Meltzer, of Wrestling Observer Radio, that this week’s Monday Night RAW featured the promo that Moxley had issues with.

With WWE returning to LA, Meltzer postulated that either WWE’s creative team or Vince McMahon himself liked the promo and simply wanted to use it.

The Superstar chosen? Elias.

Elias opened the show, insulting the Los Angeles audience with terms and insults seemingly lifted straight from the Moxley script.

A few things were tweaked or changed in order to modernize it—such as a reference to LA Laker, Anthony Davis—but the crux of the piece remained the same, with Elias calling the people “pieces of garbage” and “more toxic than the air.”

Elias was attacked by Seth Rollins before he had the chance to mention a pooper scooper.

WWE Super ShowDown 50-Man Battle Royal Update: Four Entrants Confirmed

Although 46 spots remain, we finally have a couple of participants announced for Friday’s WWE Super ShowDown special.

WWE has been advertising “a 50-Man Battle Royal — the largest in WWE history” since the beginning of their promotional push towards their return to the Saudi Arabian market for WWE Super ShowDown on June 7. When the final week leading up to the event began on Monday, there had yet to be a single entrant announced for the match.

In fact, other than the official WWE Super ShowDown mini site at WWE.com, the company hadn’t really acknowledged the match.

Four Superstars Entered Into WWE’s 50-Man Battle Royal

During a commercial break segment on Monday’s “go-home” show for Friday’s live special, Mojo Rawley declared that he would be entering the 50-Man Battle Royal in Saudi Arabia. WWE followed that up on Tuesday night in similar fashion as Elias revealed during an off-air segment on last night’s SmackDown Live that he too would be entering the match.

Additionally, Karl Anderson took to social media on Tuesday evening to announce that he and Luke Gallows will be making the trip to Jeddah this week to compete in the 50-Man Battle Royal.

Other Rumored Entrants For Super ShowDown Battle Royal

While WWE has yet to reveal a list of participants for the match, there have been rumors that NXT Superstars will be flown to Saudi Arabia to be included in the match, with Matt Riddle being one specific name that has been making the rounds.

A.J. Styles has also been rumored, as he has been included in the advertising for WWE Super ShowDown, but does not have a match yet with only two days remaining until the show. With “The Phenomenal One” recovering from an injury as of late, it would make since for WWE to have him work a match with limited physicality.

With the aforementioned entrants now announced for the 50-Man Battle Royal at WWE Super ShowDown, featured below is an updated look at the latest officially advertised lineup for this Friday’s live special:

WWE SUPER SHOW-DOWN 2019

Charlotte Flair Reacts To MITB Cash-In, Roman Reigns Unsatisfied With Elias Victory

During the second of Becky Lynch’s title defenses at last night’s (Sun. May 19, 2019) WWE Money In The Bank (MITB) pay-per-view (PPV), “The Man” was unsuccessful in retaining her “Becky Two Belts” moniker. Charlotte Flair bested Lynch to capture the SmackDown Live Women’s Title, following Lynch’s successful defense of the RAW Women’s Title over Lacey Evans.

However, after her match, a beaten Flair was cashed-in on by Women’s MITB Ladder match winner Bayley. “The Hugger” came out and successfully cashed-in her briefcase before defeating Flair to become the new SDL Women’s Champion. Shortly after her defeat, Flair took to Twitter to react to the situation.

Here’s what she had to say:

Roman Reigns Unsatisfied With Elias Victory

Also at last night’s MITB PPV, former Universal Champion Roman Reigns made very quick work of Elias inside the ring. It only took “The Big Dog” 10 seconds to dispatch of the man formerly known as “The Drifter.” Following his victory, Reigns did an interview backstage with Cathy Kelly for WWE’s YouTube channel.

Reigns said he’s unsatisfied with the quick victory over Elias, as he was prepared for a competitive contest:

“It really wasn’t at all (satisfying) to be honest,” Reigns said. “I geared up for a match tonight. I was ready to rock n’ roll, give Hartford a great match, give them what they paid for. Considering, I’ve been here for a long time. I’m an established Superstar.

“It would’ve been a great opportunity for a guy like Elias to be in the ring with me, and to feel what top competition feels like. What a championship fight feels like. But, he made the wrong choice. He pulled the trigger early. Therefore, I pulled it late. That’s why I’m standing here.”

Elias Talks About Having The Support Of The McMahon Family

Although neither Roman Reigns nor Elias appeared on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE released a backstage interview of Elias speaking with Sarah Schreiber.

Discussing his upcoming matchup against “The Big Dog” at Money In The Bank, Elias was asked about where he gets his confidence from. His response? His reflection, apparently.

“My reflection. When Roman Reigns looks in the mirror he sees his true self, a weak, broken down shell of what he used to be. But when I look in the mirror, I see the greatest acquisition in SmackDown Live history. The power of Elias is insane, and the support has been overwhelming.”

He would clarify that, when he says “support,” he isn’t referring to the WWE Universe:

“Everybody loves me, but I’m talking about people that actually matter. The kingmakers, the McMahon family. I mean, did you see the support I had from Shane McMahon last night on Monday Night RAW when we beat up Roman Reigns?”

He concluded, promising that” At Money In the Bank, Roman Reigns is going to realize that he is no longer the one chosen to carry WWE on its back, because now and forever, WWE stands for Walk With Elias.”

Money In The Bank takes place on Sunday, May 19th, from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

Elias Sends Message To Roman Reigns: ‘Time To Put The Big Dog Down’

The storyline between former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Elias is heating up.

It all started on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live when Elias formed an alliance with Shane McMahon and started feuding with Reigns. Now, the two stars of the SmackDown Live brand are set to clash when they meet inside of the ring at the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view event.

On Thursday, Elias took to his official Twitter account where he sent a harsh message to Reigns. Elias wrote the following:

Reigns is slated to meet Elias in a singles match at this show. WWE set up the match during Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Lincoln, NE at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in the opening segment when Elias and Shane McMahon attacked Reigns. The company is making it seem like Elias and McMahon are now best friends.

Elias Issues Challenge To The Rock (Video)

Elias recently took part in a media scrum ahead of WrestleMania 35 where he spoke about a wide range of topics.

During the scrum, he was asked about recently singing with Finn Balor at a live event, and if there are any other people, he would want to sing along with. This led to Elias talking about how he thinks The Rock is afraid of him and challenged him to be a man and show up to a WWE event.

This comes after Elias previously challenged both John Cena and The Undertaker. In a previous interview, the Monday Night RAW mentioned how he thinks he needs a program with a top star who has a great character.

“I believe he’s afraid of Elias. If The Rock has it in him, by all means, come on down, show up, try and walk with Elias. I’ll show you how it’s done.”

Every year there is speculation on whether he will appear at WrestleMania. He hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 29 against Cena but did have technically a match with Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32, but it was very brief.

WWE has yet to advertise The Rock for WrestleMania 35. Thus, it’s not likely “The Great One” will make an appearance.

Elias Calls Out Two Former WWE Champions For Possible Feud

WWE Monday Night RAW star Elias had some interesting things to say during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio to promote WrestleMania 35.

During this interview, Elias admitted that he thinks the main roster is lacking characters right now. Thus, he thinks that having a program with John Cena or The Undertaker would be perfect for him.

He started out by talking about how Elias is such a character in a day and age where he feels that WWE has a lot of wrestlers under contract right now and not many characters.

He noted that he’s not saying one thing’s better than the other, but for him, he needs a big character like a feud with Cena or The Undertaker would be fantastic.

“I know I’m putting myself in the realm of these guys that have legendary status, but that’s the kind of thing I need. On the main roster right now, I’m not sure there’s anybody that gets me at that level.”

WWE has yet to advertise Cena or The Undertaker for the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. It’s possible that WWE books a segment for Elias with one of these stars at the show but that remains to be seen.

Elias Wants To Face WWE Legend At WrestleMania 35

Elias didn’t wrestle in a match at last year’s WrestleMania and so far there is no news of a bout being planned for the former NXT Star for this year’s edition of the show either.

However even though he isn’t advertised for a match, the Drifter has his eyes set on two of the biggest stars of the company and he is hoping to face one of them at the show.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Elias was asked who he would like to face at the upcoming PPV and he answered with the names of Undertaker and John Cena:

“At Wrestlemania, I’d love to wrestle John Cena; I’ve got a lot of issues with that guy. I’ve got issues with The Undertaker; I’d love to take The Undertaker out. I think ‘The Living Truth vs. The Dead Man’ is a great story right there. Those are two guys I have in my sights right now, and one way or another I’d like to get a hold of them right now.”

It’s interesting to note here that Elias was involved in the Undertaker- John Cena segment at last year’s WrestleMania 34 event. He confronted Cena who was hoping to wrestle Taker.

These two had a brief exchange and The Dead Man appeared only after Cena delivered a beatdown to the Raw Star and was making his way to the backstage area.

Elias Tells WWE Legends To “Get Out”

With D-Generation X being announced for WWE’s Hall Of Fame Class of 2019 and The Undertaker now taking appearance bookings outside the company, it appears that these legendary Superstars may finally be embracing the end of in-ring competition.

For one current RAW Superstar, it’s about time.

Elias, speaking to BBC Sounds’ Headliners show, discussed how the time of these established legends is done. He would put a fine point on his thoughts, stating that it was time for them to “Get out” in order to make space for the next generation, namely himself.

“Get Out Of Here, Man. Get Out!”

“There was a time when I respected The Undertaker, I respected Shawn Michaels, I respected Triple H, and now they just hang around,” Elias said. “They keep having these matches with each other. I just want them gone, so, any respect I did have for these guys is out the window.”

“The whole thing, The Brothers of Destruction, DX, any of that stuff, that was an Attitude Era thing. But you’re looking at the guy right now, so, step aside and it’s Elias’ time. Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kane, get out of here, man. Get out!”

The interview took place around the time for WWE’s controversial Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Despite this fact, it’s probably an opinion Elias still considers true.

H/T To Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.

Do you agree with Elias’ sentiments? Can you see Elias in the main event spot?

Stipulation Added To Title Match For Monday’s RAW

It has just been announced that next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW will now feature a stipulation match for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode will now be defending their straps against The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) in a Lumberjack match. Also, Elias will meet Baron Corbin in a singles match on the card as well:

The first Monday Night RAW of 2019 already includes the return of WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan. “The Hulkster” will be honoring the recently departed “Mean” Gene Okerlund, who passed away in Florida earlier this week. John Cena is also expected to be making his return to RAW. Cena has been doing a lot of work for his film career as of late. He spent several months in China filming his upcoming “Project X” movie with Jackie Chan. Cena also has been promoting his new “Bumblebee” movie quite a bit as well.

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is also set to make an appearance. Alexa Bliss will be debuting her “Moment of Bliss” talk show. She’ll have RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey on as her first guest.

What do you think about the current lineup for RAW next week?

Injured SmackDown Star Cleared To Return, Elias Mocks Bobby Lashley

Injured SmackDown Star Cleared To Return

SmackDown Star Sin Cara has been away from WWE programming for a few months now due to an injury but it appears that he may be gearing up for a return now.

PWinsider is reporting that Sin Cara has been cleared to return to the ring by the medical staff and he has been spending time at Performance Center recently while preparing for his comeback.

Sin Cara lost in a match to Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas during the Extreme Rules PPV earlier this year and then in mid-August, it was reported that he has undergone a knee surgery.

Elias Mocks Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley’s return to the WWE hasn’t played out like many were expecting. There are people who believe that his persona has been lacking charisma and it appears Elias has heard this talk too.

Lashley recently took a shot at Elias saying that he will defeat him at the upcoming TLC PPV and replying to him, the NXT Star said that he has been trying to make Bobby relevant but at TLC he will put the Raw Star behind him:

As we noted before, earlier there was talk of WWE converting Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman match into a multi-person fight but it appears that they are going with one on one bouts instead.

Elias Calls Out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Everybody’s favourite ex-Drifter, Elias has made no secret about wanting the opportunity to share the ring with The Great One, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In a recent interview, he reiterated this sentiment, once again slandering The Rock and The Brahma Bull’s musical abilities.

When asked if he derived any inspiration from The Rock, Elias responded, “No inspiration whatsoever. I’ve stated this before, The Rock he did do this – he would play guitar and things like that in a way. And he would do cover songs on Monday Night Raw, but guess what? I’m doing original music every single week, man. I’ve got an album out with all original songs – written, performed by me.”

He would go on to explain his evident frustrations, stating, “[…] people make comparisons, and maybe it’s because of how the crowd is, y’know? I’ve got my catchphrases with ‘Walk with Elias,’ things like that. The thing is, The Rock cannot do what I do. So when I hear these comparisons, I just get worked up about it, you know what I mean?”

Elias couldn’t help but admit that “[…] he’s doing great things. He’s out in Hollywood, he’s killing it out there and he obviously killed it when he was here, but times have changed.”

“It’s different now. Elias is the biggest and best thing going in WWE, and if The Rock – will we share a ring? He knows where to find me. I’ve told him. I’ve called him out a few times. Rock, you know exactly where to find me. On my show, Monday Night Raw. If you want to walk with Elias, come on out.”

Would you like to see an Elias/Rock confrontation? If you do, would you prefer in-ring competition or a musical smackdown?

Former Seattle Supersonics Players Lash Out At Elias And Kevin Owens

On Monday Night Raw, Elias made a crack about a basketball team in Seattle not making sense. The live crowd, likely still upset at the Sonics departure a decade ago, pelted Elias and Kevin Owens with boos for the remainder of the segment.

While the city is hoping to bring not only NBA basketball but also NHL hockey back to Seattle, they were not pleased with Elias’ comments. Several former Seattle Supersonic basketball players even got in on the action through social media.

Former Slam Dunk contest winner, Brent Barry, played on the Sonics from 1999-2004.

Detlef Schrempf, referenced on commentary by Renee Young on Monday night, also chimed in. He even tagged Renee in the comment as well.

To which Young offered up:

Now Renee and Schrempf are booking matches:

Shawn Kemp could not be reached for comment (nobody tried).

Renee Young and Detlef Schrempf

Some fans on social media felt Young’s Schrempf reference was so obscure that the line was likely fed to her. Young offered up that she used to be a sports reporter for the Score in Canada. She insinuated that she knows more about team sports than some fans seem to think she does.

The Seattle Supersonics relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008. The team had suffered heavy financial losses since 2001 at the time.

Elias Discusses Why WWE Decided To Call Him Up To Main Roster So Quick

Elias recently gave his thoughts on various topics during a recent interview with Cultaholic at the WWE Performance Center last week in Orlando, Florida to promote the WWE 2K19 video game that is slated to be released worldwide on October 9, 2018 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

During this interview, he talked about his journey in WWE and how being back at the Performance Center was interesting. He also reflected on top WWE officials deciding to call him up from NXT, which is considered WWE’s developmental system, to the main roster as a member of the roster for the flagship show of the company, Monday Night RAW.

He admitted that he got called up quickly and that it appeared like it was the right time for him as the reasoning behind it was because he thinks that’s obvious now if you watch RAW now as he stated, “The way people react and the way the world reacts to Elias.”

He thinks that it was a situation where people thought ‘we have him here in NXT, NXT is awesome, but let’s have him on a global stage and let the world see what Elias has’. Thus, he believes that it was an easy call for WWE officials to put him on the main roster.

Elias is slated to compete at the upcoming WWE Super Show-Down pay-per-view event that takes place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia that will air on the WWE Network. He’ll team up with Kevin Owens to take on the team of Bobby Lashley and John Cena in a tag team match.

Mick Foley Thinks Elias Is Future WWE Champion

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley is a big fan of Elias and took to his official Twitter account to express it.

Foley made an appearance on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in New Orleans, LA at the Smoothie King Center on the USA Network to do a segment with Elias to promote the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event where he revealed that he’ll be the special guest referee for the Hell in a Cell Match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman at the HIAC PPV.

In the post on Twitter, Foley wrote, “I feel like a better man for having#WalkedWithElias@IAmEliasWWE. Future @WWE champion. Rich and resonant voice.

Elias Postpones Concert, New Surveillance Video Of Attack On Aleister Black

Elias Postpones Gramercy Theater Concert

We noted before how Elias was scheduled to hold a concert at the Gramercy Theater in New York on August 18th, just a day before the SummerSlam PPV.

The Drifter, however, announced on Twitter today that his concert at the arena dubbed ‘Walk With Elias’ is being postponed based on the decision from WWE Management:

There is no word yet on the reason behind this move from WWE but as the tweet reveals, the former NXT Star’s performance at the SummerSlam PPV is still on.

Elias is not scheduled for any match at the upcoming event so far, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bobby Lashley ends up crashing his performance again and the two go on to have an impromptu match at the show.

New Surveillance Video Of Attack On Aleister Black

As we noted before, WWE decided to turn Aleister Black’s injury into a mystery attacker angle and they released a video which established multiple suspects for the same.

The company has now released a new footage from the security camera of the parking lot. The footage, however, doesn’t seem to add much to the storyline and at first glance doesn’t provide any new details:

No word yet on when Black will return from his injury or how this angle is expected to be concluded but we’ll keep you posted.
