In an update to Neville’s WWE status, the former King of the Cruiserweights has reportedly had “positive discussions” with the company regarding a potential return. Neville has been off television since last month.
There were several rumors going around regarding why he was unhappy, but we’ve heard from multiple sources that Neville grew frustrated with his positioning in the Cruiserweight division and wanted to be featured on the main roster again.
Since that time, WWE has made plans to bring several new faces to 205 Live, including NXT star Hideo Itami and former Impact Wrestling performer Rockstar Spud.
WWE recently released several performers, including Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae. Neville was not part of that round of cuts, adding to the consensus that WWE remains optimistic a resolution can be worked out.
You’ll recall that Nia Jax had a similar situation to Neville, with reports that she “walked out” of a RAW taping and was unhappy with her creative direction. She returned just weeks later, citing a back injury and WWE rotating the schedules of the talent.
– The current Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore recently posted a photo from his Instagram account of WWE Night at the Los Angeles Clippers NBA game. In the caption of the photo as seen below, he claimed that he is the ‘hardest working man in WWE’:
“Your looking at “The Marianara Rivera of the WWE” …. #TheRealestChamp defends his title every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, & closes it out in the #MainEvent of the #ZoShow (aka #205Live,) every damn Tuesday. Now I know I told you kids to “work smarter- not harder,” but that’s only because I’m a #CertifiedG.. & the #G is for genius! #TheHardestWorkingManInTheWWE is a #CertifiedG & let me be Frank, cause #iGotTheSAUCE: I work smart, but I’m a good guy, so I feel for those… I feel for the incompetent bunch of #LoserWeights who can’t compete, because THE ONLY THING I LOSE IS SLEEP! #YouCantTeachThat #G”

– According to Pwinsider, the original plans for this week’s episode of Raw was for Bayley to face Alicia Fox. However, the plans were changed later in the day and as seen last night, Bayley ended up facing a returning Nia Jax on the show instead.
– WWE Superstar Randy Orton recently took to Instagram to take a bit of a shot at Kevin Owens. Orton posted a picture of a meal he got at McDonalds and claimed he needed the calories because he’s training for a feud with Kevin Owens. “KO” was quick to fire back in the comments section of Orton’s photo, saying he’s also preparing for the feud “I watched paint dry today. I’ve got you all figured out.” Check it out:
– Last night the Los Angeles Clippers had a “WWE Night” in which WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Becky Lynch, and Darren Young were in attendance. Becky Lynch slapped and stepped on the Clippers mascot for getting too close to her while Amore had fun by dancing out on the court. Check out the highlights below:
For the past several months rumor has it that WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore has been kicked out of the WWE locker room after his antics this past summer. Amore was even kicked off of a tour bus by Roman Reigns after being heard bragging about how much money he is making in WWE. Other Superstars were upset with Amore for constantly bringing his friends backstage and breaking locker room etiquette by allowing them to film videos and take pictures.
Amore has seemingly talked his way into the top position on 205 Live as his in-ring work thus far has been lackluster at best. His heat with WWE is reflected on TV as he has been demolished by Braun Strowman and the entire 205 Live Roster in the past few weeks.
“The Realest Guy In The Room” recently did an interview with TMZ Sports to discuss these rumors and seemed to brush them off by saying he has his own locker room. He also said the only thing he is worried about at this moment is money and claimed that he can ‘piss excellence’:
“Being a champion, you wake up in the morning and you piss excellence,” he said. “The only vowel I’m concerned with is ‘I.’
“Bro, I got my own locker room — literally. That is a fact,” Amore said. “I don’t talk to nobody. You know why? ‘Cause if you ain’t talkin’ money, what the hell you talkin’ bout?!
It’s no secret that Enzo Amore has gained heat in – and out of – the ring over the past few months. Some feel that the current Cruiserweight Champion doesn’t deserve his title, or that others are more deserving of it. Whether you like the Certified G, the positive within all of this is that Enzo is getting people talking about 205 Live.

In an interview on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, Chris Jericho discussed trash talkers in WWE, wrestling in Japan compared to the U.S., as well as his real life dislike of Triple H in 2002.
“Triple H. In 2002, we didn’t like each other. I think we were almost pitted against each other in a lot of ways. We had great chemistry, great matches…I just didn’t like him, he didn’t like me, and there was no falseness. Now I love him. Great guy.”
Catch the full Hot Ones interview here:
Y2J has never hidden his relationship with The Game from 2002 and has previously explained that the conflict came from Jericho’s time at WCW which saw him trash talk and slate the WWE roster to battle the Monday night war for ratings. So when he moved to WWE, some of the locker room held a grudge towards him and his on-screen persona that was arrogant and cocky.
The main question is: does Enzo have the capability to follow Chris Jericho’s example and work through whatever heat he has? Perhaps Y2J would be kind enough to offer Amore some words of advice? It really does seem as though Jericho (circa 2002) and Amore have a lot in common and it would be extremely smart to use this connection to their advantage.
Opinion:
The other way to think of it is: Enzo doesn’t need any help, he’s still in the company, he’s featured weekly on multiple shows, he’s still champion… he’s doing alright! The main problem that Cruiserweight Champions have faced in the past is: where do they go after losing the title? Most former champions have faded into the background. Enzo needs to ensure that he bounces back to the main roster to secure a solid future for himself in WWE.
In recent weeks, RAW has seen Enzo Amore and the Cruiserweights take the main event spot which was previously reserved for the likes of Roman Reigns, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and other big name superstars.
Amore has used this to his advantage, creating more heat for his character as he competes against Kalisto for the Cruiserweight Championship. Check out this prime example of Enzo before his main event against Kalisto:
“I am your biggest superstar in the locker-room”
After Amore’s win over Kalisto at TLC, the two time Cruiserweight Champion is likely to repeat a similar reaction tonight, demanding more attention and respect from the RAW locker-room and General Manager: Kurt Angle.
While other sources have speculated that WWE is pushing 205 Live and Enzo Amore, or that Vince McMahon enjoys watching The Certified G being beaten up on such a grand stage; Kevin Eck, a former writer for WWE, has appeared on The Wade Keller podcast and suggested that ratings have a lot to do with it:
“…[W]hen you look at the ratings, you always see consistently the third hour drifts off, and you see a higher rating during the second hour[…] There is some prestige to appear at the end of the show, but I don’t think it’s the same to when I worked there[…]Vince has seen the rating trend that people aren’t sticking around, no matter what they put in[…] so why are you going to put your most important segment in the hour to where people are tuning out?”
Eck’s business sense does demonstrate a logical strategy, featuring the most popular wrestlers during the highest ratings. But WWE will, at some point, want to reveal a huge surprise with lasting impact, which requires the final moments of the show to make the most effective cliff-hanger.
Opinion:
Don’t expect Enzo or the Cruiserweights to remain in this spot for too long. The recent outbreak of viral infections will have caused multiple plans to change, evidenced by last night’s TLC PPV, and with the return of Brock Lesnar, plus build up to Survivor Series, WWE will surely resume normal service as Amore becomes repetitive and old.
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto recently did an interview with Bleacher Report to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. Kalisto discussed Enzo Amore and what he thinks he brings to the Cruiserweight division, who he’d like to share the ring with on 205 Live, and what it was like to win the Cruiserweight Title. Here are the highlights:
What Enzo Amore brings to the Cruiserweight division:
“The only thing that I believe he brought to 205 Live was his catchphrases. How long is that going to last? It’s going to get old. It’s going to get boring. And people are going to know, that dude can’t go. It’s just a matter of time.”
Who he’d like to share the ring with on 205 Live:
“I want to work with all of them. I want to go against everybody. Everybody’s a world traveler. They all have experiences. They have all wrestled against the best. He’s [Gran Metalik] a really known luchador in Mexico. He can go. He can even teach me a thing or two. I can’t even imagine the things we can do inside the ring.”
What it was like winning the Cruiserweight Championship:
“I was really emotional when I won. I didn’t expect for me to win that day, that fast. What a special day. It was on the birthday of Eddie Guerrero, one of the great Latino inspirations of all time. Rey [Mysterio] and Eddie, they’re one of the reasons I’m here, They opened doors for luchadors like me to step foot in the WWE ring. Everyone deserves a shot. Enzo was closing those doors. I’m opening them.”

It was previously reported several weeks back that the now-former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore’s backstage heat has gotten so bad that he has been kicked out of the WWE locker room and isn’t allowed to be around the boys. Per a report from WrestleVotes, who broke the news about Neville and Nia Jax’s WWE disputes, that remains the same.
As of last week Enzo is still not allowed in the locker room, and his heat with the boys is being described as ‘still real.’ “Regarding Enzo, I’m hearing the backstage heat is still real. As of last week, he was still not allowed in the locker room”:
Regarding Enzo, I'm hearing the backstage heat is still real. As of last week, he was still not allowed in the locker room.
Discussion: How do you feel about Amore being kicked out of the locker room? Are the boys taking things too far? And how much longer do you expect Enzo’s pro wrestling career to last?
Sin Cara recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights:
Reason WWE Superstars dislike Enzo Amore:
“To be honest, I’m not sure, exactly, what is going on. Maybe they’re thinking he hasn’t gone through enough to have the successes he’s having, but who am I to judge? All I can say is about myself. The only thing I can say is I wish him the best. Hopefully, that helps his career and makes him better, not just with his promos, but his in-ring work, too.”
Rumors that he had issues with Chris Jericho earlier this year: “Me and Jericho are good friends. He actually asked me if he could borrow one of my masks for that segment, and I said that it would be an honor. There is no heat between him and I. Nowadays, with social media, there are always a lot of rumors, but we are fine. That’s why I let him borrow my mask. If that wasn’t the case, I would have said no.”
The hottest topic buzzing around the professional wrestling newswire at the moment is the rumored walk-out from WWE by former Cruiserweight Champion Neville. It was reported that Neville asked for his release from the company before this past Monday’s episode of Monday Night RAW in which Enzo Amore dropped the Cruiserweight Title to Kalisto. While WWE has yet to confirm it has parted ways with Neville, Enzo Amore may have just done it for them.
Last night (Sat. October 14, 2017) WWE was in Regina, Saskatchewan for a live event in which Amore took on Kalisto. Before the match Amore cut a promo and referenced Neville’s current rumored situation with the promotion, saying “I took care of Cass, then made Neville quit. You’re nothing”:
It should also be noted that Dave Meltzer has reported that his sources believe Neville is 100% gone from the company. Despite this, WWE continues to deny that Neville has walked out.
After Kalisto won the Cruiserweight Championship last night on Raw, many believed that we’ll see the rematch between him and the former Champion Enzo Amore on TLC.
Though a new post on the company’s official website has left fans wondering if we could see their rematch for the title as soon as tonight during the 205 Live.
WWE posted the following preview for tonight’s episode of 205 Live, questioning if Enzo will invoke his rematch clause against the Masked Star tonight:
“Will Enzo Amore invoke his rematch clause against new WWE Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto?
Last night on Raw, Enzo Amore’s gift of gab got him into a tight spot with Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. The Certified G believed took issue with Kalisto receiving a WWE Cruiserweight Championship opportunity at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. Angle listened to Enzo’s complaints and responded by telling The Realest Guy in the Room he would defend the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto later that evening in a Lumberjack Match.
With few allies outside the ring, Enzo battled the Lucha Libre sensation but lost the WWE Cruiserweight Championship following a jaw-dropping Salida Del Sol from the top rope. The era of Enzo was over as Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali hoisted the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion on their shoulders in celebration. Following his victory, Kalisto dedicated the match to WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, whose birthday was last night. For his part, Enzo was angered by the outcome of the match, specifically blaming Ali, who pulled Enzo from the ring during a pinfall in retaliation for Enzo attacking him earlier in the bout.
Has Kalisto restored the dignity of the division that the WWE 205 Live roster feels was lacking during Enzo’s reign, or will The Certified G invoke his rematch clause and attempt to win back his lady?”
It’s worth noting here that according to a report from Pwinsider, the original plans for Raw were for Enzo to defend his title against Neville, though it’s not known when the officials changed their mind.
It’s yet to be seen when or where Enzo Amore actually receives his rematch, though, after the company’s recent post, it’s possible that it will happen sooner rather than later.
– Following The Shield’s triple powerbomb through a table on Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns will battle the big man next week on RAW inside a steel cage. This will be the final RAW before TLC and takes place from Portland, OR.
With The Shield officially united, they will face Strowman, The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at TLC on 10/22.
WWE.com is running a poll asking fans who poses the biggest threat to The Shield at TLC. of this writing, 85% voted for Braun Strowman while 11% voted for WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, 3% for Cesaro and 1% for Sheamus.
– After losing the Cruiserweight Championship to Kalisto in the main event of RAW, Enzo Amore was interviewed for RAW Fallout blames the loss on the Lumberjacks at ringside. Enzo claims he was outnumbered and says the other cruiserweights want him gone. Unfortunately for them, he’s not going anywhere because you’re defeated when you quit, not when you lose and he’s not quitting anything because he’s “bout it, bout it.”
On Monday evening, WWE announced that Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore will be defending his title at Tables, Ladders and Chairs against the newest member of the Cruiserweight roster: Kalisto.
With that match set, here’s an updated look at the card:
RAW Women’s Championship
– Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Mickie James
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
– Enzo Amore (c) vs. Kalisto
– Asuka debuts vs. TBA
With less than two weeks until the show, tonight’s RAW is sure to yield more confirmed matches.

– WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore took to Instagram to post the following workout clip in Los Angeles. Per a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Amore has been walking around the city with the title on:
Corey Graves and Enzo Amore trade shots on Twitter
Corey Graves posted the following tweet yesterday about his son dancing like Enzo Amore during a baseball game. Enzo responded and stated that Graves didn’t fail as a father, he failed as a wrestler.
My son just ran to second base, and danced like @real1 to celebrate.
Nah u didn't fail as a father!? U failed as a wrestler, thats why they dressed ya up in a suit N tie & told ya 2 sit down #HowYouDoin#Champhttps://t.co/mdkrvflAfY
WWE released a new video where they look at ten new playable characters making their roster debuts in WWE 2K18. The Authors of Pain, SAnitY, Gran Metalik, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, TJP, Johnny Gargano, Akira Tozawa, Ember Moon, No Way Jose and Bobby Roode are the Superstars listed in the video.
When Enzo Amore won the WWE Cruiserweight title against Neville many fans of the product let out a collective groan.
Ever since the Cruiserweight Classic the 205 competitors have not been showcased in the way that many had hoped and while the decision to put the belt on Enzo could be seen as ‘desperate’ this could be a positive for 205 Live and the Cruiserweight Division in general…why? Here’s why:
Everybody Hates Enzo
The Champion always has a target on their back. This has never been more apparent than when Enzo took a beating from the ENTIRE Cruiserweight Division on RAW. There have been rumors circulating for months regarding the temperament of Enzo Amore and how he seems to rub people the wrong way. Corey Graves made it clear on Bring It To The Table, stating that he flat out did not like the Certified G.
WWE has had a tendency to ‘over-bake’ story lines that include elements of reality, however with a personality such as Enzo and how frankly irritable he is why not play on that?
You can disregard Faces and Heels here, if EVERYBODY hates Enzo then you can feasibly put anyone from the division up against him.
He Can Talk People Into The Building
The Cruiserweight Classic was easily one of the best tournaments ever devised by WWE. The highlight packages and the self contained story lines flowing throughout the tournament were clear, concise and added a huge deal to what some see as a ‘spot fest’ style of pro wrestling.
The issue with 205 Live is that you now have a weekly show with no clear end goal, you need to produce content on a weekly basis and give fans a reason to tune in and give them a reason to care about the performers.
Love him or loathe him you cannot disagree that Enzo Amore has a magnetism, his natural charisma and ability on the microphone is something very different for the 205 Live program and it will add a very different dynamic to the show.
While Enzo is obviously not the most technically gifted in ring, he will be able to add a vocal element that no one else on the roster can offer.

In The End, Something Needed To Change
Neville was a fantastic Cruiserweight Champion. His portrayal as the King of the Cruiserweight’s completely reinvigorated his career and put him a step above everyone else on the 205 roster.
The issue is this, fans were not watching 205 Live on the WWE Network. It’s a fact that you cannot get past, are you are the sort of fan that believes Jinder Mahal shouldn’t be champion because he isn’t drawing ratings? Then you cannot disagree that Neville wasn’t pulling in the numbers.
I completely see why 205 isn’t securing viewership, it airs at completely the wrong time and it isn’t in front of a hot crowd, but if they won’t change the time slot or the location then what can they change? The Champion.
What they (WWE) believe is this, it doesn’t matter what time slot you’re on, if people want to watch you then they WILL tune in…we’ll see if Enzo is the man to move the needle.
Last night’s SmackDown was in Glendale, Arizona and was the second-to-last episode before WWE Hell in a Cell on October 8th. As you can see from the photos below, the Gila River Arena was nowhere close to being full.
New Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore came down to the ring selling a storyline injury from the beatdown he received from Neville at the conclusion of Monday night’s episode of RAW. The entire Cruiserweight Division also beatdown Enzo after he was attacked by Braun Strowman after RAW went off the air.
Enzo came down to the ring with a crutch at the beginning of 205 Live. Amore continued to take shots at the 205 Live roster and made fun of Cedric Alexander for lacking charisma. Enzo bragged about being a star and said that he put 205 Live on the map. Amore added that he is the reason people are staying up late on Tuesday nights and that the Cruiserweight Championship finally means something because it is around his waist.
Enzo said that he felt sorry for Neville because every day he has to wake up and look at that face in the mirror. The crowd didn’t react and Enzo added “that was the punchline, he is ugly” and some of the audience chuckled. Enzo said that he flew his mother to the show on Monday and she cried her eyes out because she had to sit there and watch a monster and an entire division black and blue her son’s beautiful blue eyes.
Amore got pissed at the crowd for chanting “one more time!” during the attack after RAW went off the air on Monday night. Enzo brought up the no-contact clause he had on Monday night from RAW GM Kurt Angle. Amore stated that if anyone put their hands on him, they forfeited their shot at the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo added that it looks like he is going to retire as Cruiserweight Champion because the entire 205 Live roster broke the clause. Enzo once again called Neville ugly and claimed that he will never lay his hands on the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo called Neville “sawft” and then hobbled out of the ring.
Neville faced Ariya Daivari in the main event of 205 Live. Before the match, he cut a promo and said that he knew exactly what he was doing when he attacked Enzo at the conclusion of Monday’s episode of RAW. Neville claimed that it was the best night of his life. He stated that he was aware that he sacrificed his rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship, but said he didn’t care and would do it again if given the opportunity.
Neville told Enzo to keep one eye open because he will attack him again. Neville said that he refuses to let 205 Live to degenerate at the hands of such a talentless little rat like Enzo. Amore was ringside for the match between Daivari and Neville. The match ended with Neville locking in the Rings of Saturn for the Submission victory. Enzo then hopped in the ring and attacked Neville with the crutch. Enzo then started a “you deserve it!” chant but nobody played along.
The closing segment of Monday’s RAW saw Enzo Amore gloating about winning the Cruiserweight Championship and running down the entire roster of 205 Live.
Enzo bragged about being the only true star of the show, which brought out Neville, who was livid about losing to Enzo at No Mercy and losing his title after a blatant low blow by the Staten Island loudmouth.
Neville proceeded to destroy Enzo, despite a declaration by Kurt Angle that stated Neville would be denied a rematch if he got physical with the new champ.
After RAW went off the air, things didn’t get any better for Enzo Amore. The cruiserweight Superstars laid waste to the new king of their division – and got some assistance from Braun Strowman.
Check out the action here on this week’s RAW Fallout video:
– WWE.com has a new poll asking fans who gained the most from their win at WWE No Mercy last night. As of this writing, 47% voted for Roman Reigns while 20% voted for WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, 13% went with new WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, 6% voted for RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, 5% with Finn Balor and 5% with RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Seth Rollins. Elias and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz each received 2% of the vote.
– Renee Young noted on Twitter that she filmed 5 shows and a DVD special for WWE over the weekend. No word yet on exactly what the projects are.
– WWE has released a new WWE 2K18 trailer featuring Snoop Dogg rapping about the game’s roster. WWE 2K18 will be released worldwide on Tuesday, October 17th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with the Nintendo Switch version coming later this fall.

– Titus O’Neil, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attended Sunday’s NFL game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs, as seen in the photos and videos below. Titus appeared on last night’s WWE No Mercy Kickoff pre-show in the corner of Apollo Crews for his loss to Elias. Gallows and Anderson were backstage but not used.
The Superstars of 205 Live have a lot to say about Enzo Amore capturing the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville at last night’s No Mercy pay-per-view from Los Angeles. Neville put on a dominant performance, but Enzo got the win after a low blow kick when the referee was distracted.
Tony Nese, Mustafa Ali, Jack Gallagher, Drew Gulak, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado and Akira Tozawa had some spirited remarks about what transpired, with Tozawa congratulating Enzo and former Cruiserweight Champion TJP re-tweeting fans and trying to get a “#SaveUsTJP” hashtag going.
Overall, the reactions are not very positive.
Ugh, I'll just have to count my ABs harder to save our show. #WWENoMercy
WWE No Mercy 2017 aired last night from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Brock Lesnar defended his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman in the main event. In a match many thought was reserved for WrestleMania, John Cena faced Roman Reigns for the very first time. Here are my five takeawys from last night’s PPV:
Cesaro Is Tough As Hell
Cesaro and Sheamus faced Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins last night at No Mercy for the RAW Tag Team Championships. During the match, Dean Ambrose catapulted Cesaro into the ring post. Cesaro smashed face-first into the post and completely messed up his front teeth. Cesaro got medical attention next to the ring but was back on the ring apron awaiting a tag only a minute later. Cesaro is one of the most talented performers on WWE’s roster and is a true professional. He went on to finish the remaining 10+ minutes of the match. Sheamus & Cesaro fell short at No Mercy, but their match with Ambrose and Rollins stole the show.
Nia Jax Is Ready To Become Champion
Alexa Bliss defended her RAW Women’s Championship in a Fatal 5-Way against Bayley, Emma, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax. Alexa Bliss won the match and retained her title, but Nia Jax was the best part of this match. She showed off her strength by hitting a Samoan Drop on Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss at the same time. Jax got Powerbombed off the ring apron and crashed to the floor. It was announced that Asuka is making her debut on the RAW roster at WWE TLC 2017 on October 22nd. Asuka and Nia Jax have battled down in NXT, but Nia has improved a ton since then. I can’t wait to see the two battle again on the main roster and hopefully for the RAW Women’s Championship.
The Cruiserweight Division Doesn’t Matter
Enzo Amore defeated Neville last night at WWE No Mercy to become the new Cruiserweight Champion. He won the match after hitting a low-blow on Neville and then rolling him up for the pinfall. The match was astonishingly bad and when the crowd decided to make noise, they chanted “boring!”.
Neville destroyed the entire Cruiserweight Division but was made to look like an idiot last night at No Mercy. He had the match won numerous times, but ultimately decided to not go for the Red Arrow because the crowd cheered as he climbed the turnbuckle. It wound up costing him and he lost the much.
Enzo Amore is sometimes funny while cutting promos. He is never going to be good in the ring. WWE failed to build up anyone else on the 205 Live roster. Quite literally every single one of them is a better wrestler than Enzo Amore. However, thanks to WWE’s failures to build anyone up, Enzo Amore is now the Cruiserweight Champion. How is 205 Live doin? Not too good.
Braun Strowman’s Future Is Still Bright
Braun Strowman delivering a Running Powerslam to Brock Lesnar at WWE No Mercy 2017. (Photo Credit: WWE.com)
Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman last night in the main event of WWE No Mercy. The match was hyped up well for the past few weeks on RAW, but it wound up being just a decent match. Strowman had shown that he could dominate Lesnar on RAW recently and when he slammed him through two announce tables at SummerSlam. Even though Strowman lost tonight, it remains clear to me that Strowman is going to be integral part of WWE’s future.
I think he is already at the point where he should regularly be in the main event of WWE PPVs. While WWE might have other plans for now, there is no denying that Strowman has become a household name. Strowman lost tonight but he’ll be right back in the hunt for the Universal Championship in no time.
Roman Reigns Is The Guy
Roman Reigns after his victory over John Cena at WWE No Mercy 2017. (Photo Credit: WWE.com)
Whether you like it or not, Roman Reigns is “the guy” in WWE. I’m not a big fan of it myself, but it obvious that WWE is not going to shy away from pushing Roman Reigns at all costs. He defeated John Cena last night at No Mercy in a match that I thought would have been saved for WrestleMania. Cena raised Roman Reigns’ hand after the match and then went on RAW Talk and praised him some more.
Cena said that a burden was taken off his shoulders after his loss to Reigns. Cena also stated that Roman Reigns proved to him that he was in fact “the guy” over the past month leading up to last night’s match. Cena even became emotional during his appearance on RAW Talk and last night’s match clearly showed that Roman Reigns is without a doubt the top guy in WWE. He is the Big Dog and WWE appears to be his yard going forward for a long time.
The Miz and Maryse announced that they will be having their first child together tonight on RAW. The Miz promised to be there for their child everyday, unlike RAW GM Kurt Angle who wasn’t there for Jason Jordan.
Maryse announced that they were having a baby and The Miz then pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket. As he was about to start his speech, Enzo Amore interrupted and came down to the ring. The Miz and Enzo then traded insults and it eventually led to a match between the two Superstars.
During the match, Enzo grabbed a microphone and said that The Miz “who’s your daddy?” in reference to the child. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel then attacked Enzo ringside and The Miz planted Enzo with a Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz then shared a kiss with Maryse in the ring.
You can check out the announcement in the video below.
RAW Superstar Big Cass was the latest guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. During their discussion, Cass commented on the rumor of his former tag team partner Enzo Amore having backstage heat.
“Enzo is Enzo,” Cass said. “The guy you see on TV is the guy that you see in real life. Enzo wouldn’t be in the spot he’s in, he wouldn’t have made it this far if he didn’t act the way he does, so there is good with the bad.”
When asked if he was distancing himself from Enzo as a result of him being out of favor with WWE management and members of the locker room, Cass said no.
“No, I don’t think so, I don’t think I have distanced myself from him. The storyline has kind of taken on its own thing. Once it started being talked about and people started talking about it on the internet, then they are like: ‘oh really, people talk about it? Well okay, if it’s not real, lets pretend it is real and put it more out there on TV.”
Chris Jericho recently appeared as a guest on Busted Open Radio and said he thinks it was a good idea for WWE to move Enzo Amore to the Cruiserweight division and 205 Live.
“He’s one of those guys that personality-wise he’s very bulletproof because he’s so over-the-top and he’s got such a good rap,” said Jericho. “But where else is he gonna go in the headlining position, in the heavyweight division on RAW? I think it was a great move because I don’t know what else you would do with him if you didn’t stick him in there unless he was just gonna be a manager or a commentator.”
The former Undisputed Champion explaining why he thinks WWE was smart to bring Enzo to 205 Live. Jericho thinks Enzo is a perfect fit for the Cruiserweight division and the show will benefit because he will bring more viewers to the show.
“He fits that vibe size-wise and more importantly he’s gonna bring eyeballs and attention,” said Jericho. “And people will actually pay attention to the matches that he’s in.”
Jericho also revealed some advice he gave to Cruiserweight Champion Neville, who might get the chance to work with Enzo Amore in the near future.
“I told Neville this months ago, I said, ‘There’s gonna come a time when you’re gonna have to make him look good, that’s the job of guys like you and me. It doesn’t matter if he’s good. That’s not his responsibility, that’s yours now,’” Jericho said. “Neville’s gonna have to do anything he can to make that match work the same way that all the great workers in time do that.”
