Eva Marie Talks About Her Battle With Alcoholism

Former WWE performer Eva Marie has written an essay for In Style magazine about being an alcoholic and how coming to terms with the disease saved her life.

Eva wrote, “I’m an alcoholic. I have relapsed, destroyed relationships, hurt my family, and disappointed myself numerous times. I will be an alcoholic for the rest of my life. The fact that I have been sober for almost five years doesn’t mean that I am “cured,” it doesn’t mean that I had a drinking phase in my 20s, and it doesn’t mean that I can have a few drinks now and again or just drink in moderation. There are no shades of gray when it comes to alcoholism—it’s black and white.”

Eva has been sober for 5 years and credits the Alcohol Anonymous 12-step program with helping her rebound from rock bottom, which involved multiple DUI’s and several months in jail. She now attends 6am AA meetings, works with a sponsor and seeks out new members to sponsor.

Today, she is married, runs multiple successful businesses and a career in the entertainment industry. However, she realizes, “this fairytale life is always one drink away from shattering.”

Eva Marie Discusses Similarities Between Acting & Wrestling

Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently did an interview with GQ to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. “All Red Everything” discussed the similarities between acting and professional wrestling, how her workout routine has changed since leaving the WWE, and cheat meals. Here are the highlights:

The similarities between acting and professional wrestling:

“Honestly, they are very similar. In the ring, you’re constantly working out and honing your craft, and you’re doing the same thing with acting, too—taking classes and working with vocal coaches. I think the thing that stands out for me is that in the WWE, we were in a new city every night. When you go to a movie set, though, you get to be at the same location for awhile. I had become very used to not even bothering to unpack my suitcase. Suddenly, it was like, ‘Oh wow, I get to stay in one place!'”

How her workout routine has changed since leaving WWE:

“Oh, my workouts have definitely changed. In WWE, I focused more on Olympic lifting. I had to make sure that I was physically able to lift another human being at all times. Now, I’m going for a different, leaner look. High-intensity interval training and Tabata workouts are really good for me, because they prevent me from getting bored, and don’t require me to be in the gym for two hours. I can get in, do what I need to do, and get out.”

Cheat meals:

“Oh my God, there are so many! I’m Mexican and Italian, so my mom is a fantastic cook. I s–t you not, every time I go back home, I gain, like, 10 pounds, just because her food is so hard for me to turn down. Plus, I’m not there all the time, so I give myself a little allowance to enjoy it more. I’m a sucker for bacon waffles—they’re to die for. And I love banana pancakes. I should just honestly film my cheat day because people would be impressed by how much food I can put down.

“When my husband and I first started dating, I had just started my WWE tryouts—I think I was in my third week. I went over to his place and he made banana pancakes. I really liked them, so he asked ‘Do you want another one?’ That kept going, and I swear I put down about 20 of them. I was training at the time, but also, they were that good. I do not play around when it comes to cheat days.”

Eva Marie Comments On Life After WWE

Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently did an interview with ESPN W to talk about a variety of topics. Marie discussed being moved to WWE’s main roster after just 2 weeks of formal training, her relationship with The Rock, and her life after WWE. You can check out the highlights here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUQqM1Dbbz0

Being moved to the WWE’s main roster after 2 weeks of formal training:

“I’m a perfectionist, so I would have liked to have trained more first. However, I truly think opportunities come up once in a lifetime and if you don’t take it, you’re going to miss out.”

Her relationship with The Rock:

“I love talking to The Rock. He’s done the transition from WWE to the mainstream so well. He always tells me to stay my lane, not to compare myself to other people and just do the work. He’s been fantastic and I’m really fortunate to have that relationship with him. … It would be great to emulate his career, but we’ll see what happens.”

Life after WWE:

“I want it all. I really want to expand with movies and I would love to land on a TV show, like a Netflix original series, that would be fantastic. I want to do a lot of charity work — I’m a person that’s in recovery [from an alcohol addiction] so I really want to put out that message as well. There’s a lot that I want to do, the sky is the limit. I want to dabble in everything. I wish I did have time to relax, but I’m a Virgo and it’s just not in me. I think the hustle is just in my blood — always hungry, never satisfied.”

Eva Marie Talks About Why She Left WWE

Last week, Eva Marie announced her departure from WWE after 4 years with the company. Eva spoke with Rolling Stone this week about her decision to leave and nothing but good things to say about her time with WWE and her experience working for the McMahons. She also teased that we might see her resurface at some point.

“I have such a great relationship with Vince [McMahon], Paul [‘Triple H’ Levesque] and Stephanie [McMahon]. They gave me an opportunity to step away and film these two films I have done already, and you never know when that relationship will come back. So I might appear at a SummerSlam or WrestleMania.”

Towards the end of her WWE run, Eva Marie had several outside projects she was working on, including acting gigs and her own fashion line. She loved being a WWE Superstar but didn’t think she was able to give 100% effort to everything she was juggling.

“It just so happens that the wrestling craft, you have to be able to give yourself 110 percent to that. And then with acting, you have to do the same, so we decided together that with the films going back to back. I’m going to put my efforts into acting and growing that way. And then you never know: All Red Everything could come back and snatch that title.”

Despite the fact that many WWE fans never embraced her as much as she and WWE hoped for, Eva Marie appreciates the exposure she got in WWE and performing for fans around the world.

“The WWE fanbase is so fantastic. They’re so die-hard, and in the last 10 months, they have been asking, ‘Where is All Red Everything?’ So both our teams came together and decided we need to definitely let the fans know what’s going on.”

WWE Issues Statement On Eva Marie’s Departure

Earlier today (Fri. August 4, 2017) Eva Marie took to her Twitter to announce that she and the WWE have officially parted ways:

Eva Marie hasn’t been with WWE since last August as she violated the WWE’s Talent & Wellness Policy which earned her a 30-day suspension. She was drafted to SmackDown Live but always seemed to get out of her matches by way of wardrobe malfunction or a fake injury.

WWE made the following statement following Marie announcing her departure from the company:

“Eva Marie and WWE have mutually agreed to contractually part ways as of today, Aug. 4, 2017

“Today I’m saying a bittersweet goodbye to @WWE,” Eva tweeted. “Thanks to the entire team, and YOU, my fans, for these 4 years! #AllRedEverythingForever”

“WWE wishes Eva the best in all of her future endeavors”

Alberto El Patron GFW Suspension Update, Eva Marie On Her Future

Eva Marie on her future

Eva Marie posted the following on Instagram after announcing that her time in WWE has come to an end:

“Today is a bittersweet day, as @WWE and I have agreed to part ways. It has been an incredible 4 years, and I am truly grateful to Vince, Paul, Stephanie and the entire WWE team. I would not be where I am today without their continued support.

There are such priceless moments from the past few years…everything from visiting our troops in Afghanistan to working alongside the Special Olympics. I couldn’t even begin to share them all here, but there’s no doubt – I will carry them with me into this exciting journey ahead.

Last but not least, thank YOU, my fans, for allowing me to live out a dream that I could have never imagined for myself. You are the reason I love to go to work, and that’s not changing anytime soon!

And finally…the hustle won’t stop! After shooting back to back films, more are coming and I can’t wait to share with you soon. #Love #AllRedEverythingForever”

Eva Marie Announces Her Departure From WWE

Eva Marie took Twitter today to announce her departure from WWE. In the post, Eva Marie wrote the following “Today I’m saying a bittersweet goodbye to WWE. Thanks to the entire team, and YOU, my fans, for these 4 years! #AllRedEverythingForever”.

Eva Marie has not been seen in WWE since last August. Eva violated WWE’s Talent & Wellness Policy and was suspended for 30 days back on August 17th, 2016. Eva made the following statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet about her suspension:

“I am disappointed that this suspension has occurred, yet understand and respect that WWE upholds their Wellness Policy to the letter and won’t compromise on its integrity … I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely. I look forward to my return! Thank you for your support.”

Eva was drafted to SmackDown and was in the middle of a storyline in which she would always have a wardrobe malfunction or fake an injury before a match. This would result in the match never taking place.

Eva Marie Says She Could Return to SmackDown & “Snatch That Title Real Quick”

Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently did an interview with Too Fab to promote the premiere of her new movie, Inconceivable, which opens this Friday (June 30, 2017). Marie talked about The Rock’s influence on her, a possible return to WWE, and the possibility of re-appearing on E!’s Total Divas. Here’s what she had to say:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY5vDKlz0jw

Advice The Rock has given her:

“Yes, he’s awesome. I literally couldn’t ask for a better mentor. He’s done exactly what I’m trying to do, he gets it. Going into an audition or putting yourself on tape, it’s not the easiest thing to do especially because an audition is usually a camera and one person and then you have to bring to life this character. His advice to me is do the work, always put 110% effort into whatever it is that I’m doing, especially when it comes to these auditions and bringing these characters to life.

“And then, be yourself when you walk into the room, never change. Leave it all in there. Once you’re done, walk out and you’re onto the next. That’s what I’ve really tried to carry throughout the process of going in for auditions, and not taking anything too personal because there’s so many factors that come into people getting roles, whether it’s not the right look or doesn’t have the right accent or wrong color hair. The list goes on, so you gotta take it lightly and move on.”

Possible WWE return:

“Oh my goodness, for sure. WWE, for me, is where it all started. You never know, I could show up on a Monday Night Raw, I could come down to SmackDown Live and snatch that title real quick. Never leave me out, you never know what’s creeping around the corner, if you know what I mean.”

If we will see her on Total Divas again:

“You never know. It’s definitely a possibility. I love that show and I think everybody needs a little bit of Natalie Eva Marie in their life, so why not spread it everywhere.”

Eva Marie’s Replacement For Total Divas Revealed

Eva Marie’s time with the WWE is coming to a close, as the former leader of the “All Red Everything” movement is focusing more on her acting, modeling, and designing career. Since Marie is departing from WWE she is in need of a replacement on the Total Divas reality show on E! Network.

Per a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, current RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and RAW Superstar Nia Jax have been added to the cast. Filming for the new season is set to get underway in a couple of weeks. It was said that the WWE interviewed their female Superstars to determine the replacement but ended up adding two new cast members instead.

Updates on Paige, Summer Rae and Eva Marie

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on the statues of WWE Superstars Paige, Summer Rae and Eva Marie.

Paige is still out of action recovering from neck surgery, but the feeling is that she wouldn’t be brought back to television at this time even if she was cleared to wrestle. In light of her personal issues and how outspoken Alberto has been about WWE, her status with the company is helped by the fact that WWE and The Rock are developing the movie based on her family.

Summer Rae is ready to return, but WWE does not currently have anything planned for her in the short term.

Eva Marie will not be appearing on the upcoming season of Total Divas and could be done with WWE entirely. She has several projects going outside of WWE and we’ve come a long way from the days when Eva Marie was seen internally as ‘the female Roman Reigns’ (ie. in line for a monster push and one of the faces of the company).

Meltzer noted, “There’s an even number of women on both [RAW and Smackdown], so they don’t want to mess with that right now.”

Report: Eva Marie Leaving WWE

We may have seen the last of Eva Marie on WWE television. The SmackDown Superstar has been off TV since her first violation of WWE’s Wellness policy back on August 17, 2016. According to an exclusive report by WrestlingINC, her contract will not be renewed.

Eva Marie has been with WWE since 2013 and was a featured cast member of Total Divas. During her time away from WWE, she’s dyed her hair black, participated in two movies (Inconceivable and Action No. 1) and has been tweeting about her fashion line with no mention of wrestling.

It’s worth noting that Eva Marie has removed references to WWE from her Twitter profile, although ‘WWE Superstar’ still appears on her Instagram account.

Eva Marie was drafted to the SmackDown brand last summer and was in the midst of a storyline where she would fake injuries and suffer wardrobe malfunctions to avoid wrestling.

Eva Marie Joins The Cast Of Nicolas Cage Movie Inconceivable

Deadline reports that Eva Marie and Nicky Whelan will co-star alongside Nicolas Cage and Faye Dunaway in a new thriller titled Inconceivable.

Inconceivable will be directed by Jonathan Baker with Chloe King writing the script. It does not appear to be a WWE Studios project.

The film focuses on Katie (Whelan), who moves to town with her young daughter to start a new life after enduring abuse in the past. Katie befriends another mother, Angela (apparently played by Eva), and her husband Brian (Cage). Angela notices odd behavior from Katie and begins to question whether Katie’s intentions are as innocent as she makes them out to be, or if something dark is lurking beneath the surface.

Eva is due back from her WWE Wellness suspension on 9/18. Filming for this movie begins next month.

Eva Marie Update, Roman Reigns Vest Petition Trends

Despite serving a 30 day suspension from WWE for violating the talent Wellness policy, Eva Marie is still permitted to work on WWE’s Total Divas series. She’s been in the Bahamas along with her husband Jonathan, The Miz and Maryse filming scenes for the upcoming season. Not a bad way to serve a suspension.

The petition has made it to Facebook’s trends list and currently has almost 4,000 supporters. Below is the description:

Require Roman Reigns to remove his ILLEGAL vest during the course of WWE competition.

Roman Reigns has been systematically breaking the rules of Admiral-Lord Mountevans Unified Rules of Professional Wrestling through the use of illegal body armor to protect himself during the course of matches with legitimately dressed competitors, and has been doing so throughout his career.

We require swift action that prohibits the use of this body armor in all future WWE contests by Mr. Reigns and anyone else.

Eva Marie Dyed Her Hair Black (Photos)

Eva Marie is no longer “All Red Everything.”

The SmackDown Superstar is currently serving a 30-day suspension for her first violation of WWE’s talent wellness policy. After some initial confusion surrounding the cause of her suspension, it later came out that she had been taking Adderall. She issued a statement explaining,

“I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely.”

The suspension announced August 18th will keep her out of action through WWE Backlash, when WWE crowns the first Smackdown Women’s Champion. When she returns, she’ll be sporting a dramatically different look.
