  • WWE Promoting New Eric Bischoff Interview, WWE Network Streaming Issues, More

    – WWE Network officials have been aware of some buffering issues with their streaming service after complaints by fans in recent weeks. The crew is reportedly working to make sure there will be no issues this weekend, as WWE has two big live events with NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and SummerSlam, back-to-back.

    – New footage of Eric Bischoff will be featured on the new WWE DVD and Blu-ray, “The Monday Night War Vol. 2: Know Your Role,” which is scheduled to be released on September 8th. The following is the official synopsis for the new project, where WWE is promoting the fact that Bischoff is involved:

“For the first time in eight years, ERIC BISCHOFF returns to WWE home video and gives his candid and unscripted commentary on the final ten episodes of The Monday Night War in a post-episode analysis.”

    – Stephanie McMahon, Renee Young, Eva Marie, Sheamus and Kofi Kingston held an anti-bullying rally at the Boys & Girls Club of New York City on Thursday. Below is a photo of the group at the event:

  • Eva Marie On Having Issues With Other WWE Divas, Training With Brian Kendrick & More

WWE Diva and Total Divas star Eva Marie recently spoke with Crave Online to promote this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On if Brian Kendrick had her study any particular film or style: “Absolutely! He didn’t specifically tell me to stay with any certain style but he had me watch film from Japanese wrestling to old school matches with WWE. I watched a lot of super crazy Tajiri matches, which were insane to me because of that style. It’s so fast doing moonsault after moonsault after moonsault was pretty impressive. I just pick and choose from different matches and different eras. Things are always changing but a lot of things are the same just with different little flavors.”

On her NXT ring attire getting the Internet buzzing and how she came up with the look: “That was collaboration between Brian [Kendrick] and myself. His wife actually made my robe for me. I love the old school wrestling. That’s what I watched with my brothers so I wanted to bring back the over the top pageantry, the glam, and no Diva on the roster has an entrance like that so I wanted to be different and bring something new into the generation that I’m in right now.”

On why she has had so much animosity against her during this season of Total Divas: “To be honest, I don’t know the root of the animosity. I’m really just trying to train and get better at my job so I can get on those girls level and be able to entertain and put on matches that everybody is happy about. That’s where I’m coming from. The funny thing is, I’m in California and in Orlando. I’ve been training at the WWE Performance Center as well. It’s just the fact that the times I’m not in Orlando training at the Performance Center, I’m getting in the ring with Brian Kendrick. I’m doing the best that I possibly can with both situations. I’m working on the NXT live events and I go out to Orlando two weeks out of each month so that I can train.”

On what it’s like to work in front of NXT crowds: “For me it’s awesome! I just recently had my fifth singles match so it’s pretty incredible because that crowd is so close not only to the ring but it’s just such an intimate crowd so you can really feed off of however they feel or whatever they take to in the match and it’s a really big interaction between entertainer and fan, which is awesome.”

On what she ultimately hopes to get out of all of this: “I want to be able to bring the WWE Universe with me wherever I go and with whatever I am doing. I want to bring them on this journey just like how they’ve been following me on the last six months through me training and progressing in the ring and and now it’s walk with me to my first match. That was another little step and I want to continue to do that and bring them with me throughout everything, which is a lot of different things and different avenues and really integrate WWE with mainstream as well as be a positive role model and let them know that if you dream something you can definitely achieve it as long as you’re willing to put in the hard work and don’t let other people get in your way.”

  • Brian Kendrick Talks Training Eva Marie, His Work In NXT & More

Brian Kendrick appeared as a guest on a recent edition of The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling Podcast to talk about training WWE Diva Eva Marie, his recent work in NXT and more. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On how he felt about his recent matches in NXT: “Those experiences were great. I got to wrestle a couple of buddies in the two matches I had down there, one with Sami Callihan (Solomon Crowe) the other with Fergal Devitt (Finn Balor) and both guys I knew before they were signed and both are guys that I am also a fan of just as people and as performers. To get asked to get to do these things was a lot of fun. It was a treat to get to wrestle such talented wrestlers.”

On how the NXT cameo came about: “It was just a lot of luck. They brought me down just to go to the developmental system because I have a wrestling school out here in Los Angeles, it was a chance for me to get to go down to see how the Performance Center runs things for a week and observe some things. So they decided to throw me a dark match and of course I brought my gear because that’s what any good wrestler does and it just so happened that it fell into my lap.”

On if his time at the Performance Center a tryout for future use as a trainer: “I guess it’s true in a sense but it wasn’t an official tryout. It was more of a come down and see how the system works. For me the whole point was to go down there and gain some knowledge as far as how they run things and the drills they do so I could prepare my wrestlers in a way that they won’t be completely caught off guard if they are lucky enough and work hard enough to somehow get an opportunity to perform at the Performance Center or get a tryout. It’s top notch. They’ve got something like five, six, seven rings. One of them is completely soft. So guys can try riskier stuff. They’ve got video rooms, they’ve got trainers on staff to both help you learn how to lift, trainers in a sense of medical care, they’ve got ice baths and all kinds of stuff. It’s as if you were going to any major NFL team or a baseball team it’s on that level.”

On if NXT end up killing the independent scene: “I don’t think it’s going to kill it. To me it’s genius that they took a style, the “indy” style which is very high paced, high risk, high intensity style of match and are seeing how it works in front of a WWE audience. As far as I could tell, anyone who watches NXT is a repeat viewer, they can come back and watch more because they enjoy it. I don’t know if it is going to hurt Ring of Honor when people learn that Kevin Owens was a Ring of Honor superstar so if people have this knowledge I’m sure it can help Ring of Honor in a bizarre way. I think if Ring of Honor markets itself as a “stars of tomorrow” I think it could be unbelievable because all those stars that came out of Ring of Honor that move on to NXT are hot stuff.”

On training Eva Marie and her progress as a performer: “She’s not the only one, they’ve sent a few women and they’ve sent the hopefuls to me but she’s the only one contracted. Having somebody that like her knows the system, where also she’ll be able to go on and wrestle, what you saw in NXT that was her first match since going to wrestling school. As proud as I was of it, hopefully people in the next few months will become a big fan of Eva Marie’s work and so the fact that they can come out of my school and go directly to TV for me on a selfish level I get more instant gratification that I get to see them come up quicker. At the same time, if I get to see one of my students, like a kid who came off the street who never knew anything about wrestling go onto to success I guess I would feel a different kind of pride since I saw them when they were wide eyed.”

On who from WWE made the call to ask him to help out: “The call wasn’t made from him but the call was made to me from Mr. Regal because we have a relationship from years past. He is one of the guys who helped train me and so the office knows our connection and he is the one who dealt with me. But as far as I know, Eva told me that she went to the higher-ups and asked to learn and train and they said that there is a school in Los Angeles so that way she can still do all of her appearances and so they can keep her in LA. Also it’s a way to see if I know how to train or not.”

  • Lana’s Push To Be Halted In Favor Of Eva Marie?

WWE is gearing up to give Eva Marie a big push in the coming weeks at the expense of Lana, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

After getting over in a big way as Rusev’s manager and more recently as his rival and Dolph Ziggler’s love interest, it appears WWE is getting ready to pull back on Lana’s push in favor of Eva Marie.

Eva Marie has been training hard to improve her in-ring work, which has been universally mocked by the WWE Universe since she started with the company. Higher ups in WWE are looking to feature Eva Marie as one of the cornerstones of the Divas revolution, with the storyline being Eva Marie took the rejection from fans to heart and it drove her to work hard and become Divas champion.

Many fans have been calling for Lana to be reunited with Rusev, since both of them saw the most success when they were paired together. During a recent workout video clip published by WWE, Lana teased that she’s been working on her own in-ring work and sent a message to the other Divas that she’s becoming a threat they need to watch out for.

It remains to be seen if Lana does eventually become an active competitor, but expect to see some pullback on how much TV time she’s been getting.

  • Eva Marie Talks Heat With Other WWE Divas, Whether She’ll Have Kids, Her Job In College

Eva Marie, who made her televised return to the ring on this week’s episode of WWE NXT, appeared on AfterBuzz TV to discuss fan scrutiny, heat from fellow WWE Divas, when she may have children and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

TOTAL DIVAS STAR EVA MARIE TALKS RECENT NXT MATCHES & DUELING DIVAS, RECALLS WORKING BEHIND A DESK

    July 22, 2015

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA – Total Divas star Eva Marie visits Maria Menounos‘ AfterBuzz TV, responding to the WWE Universe scrutiny and disclosing which Divas have her back and when she may have children. Joining hosts Kaori Takee and Christy Olson, of the Total Divas After Show, Eva reveals she once worked a desk job and talks about her famous red hair.

Both fans and Eva’s Total Divas‘ co-stars have questioned her devotion to the WWE and wrestling skills. Speaking out in this exclusive interview, the reality star says, “I’m still trying to wrap my head around why there was so much heat, for me training when I’m just trying to get better at my job. So I’m still, you know, trying to figure that one out.”

Talking about the future, Eva dishes details on her recent return to the ring and her plans for having kids with husband of nearly one year, Jonathan Coyle. “I don’t think anytime soon because I feel, like I said, I just arrived within the WWE,” adding that her hubby joking says, “‘I don’t know if I can handle another one of you.’”

While the reality star describes laying it all on the line on Total Divas, one thing we may not have known about Eva is that she counted cookies to pay her way through college. “And so I remember working at the office for like a little, little bit,” she recalls about a job at Mother’s Cookies. “Basically I was in charge of the orders of how many iced oatmeal cookies or whatever this store gets and…Can you imagine? I used to go to all these different grocery stores and have to count the shelves and figure it out.”

As fans continue to watch her relationship with Nikki Bella and the rest of the Divas play out, Eva makes a definitive promise, in this exclusive interview. “All red everything is here to stay.”

  • Video: Batista Featured In James Bond: Spectre Trailer

  • Brie Bella Talks Having Baby Fever, Divas Not Liking Eva Marie & More

WWE Diva and Total Divas star Brie Bella recently spoke with Digital Spy out of the U.K. to promote the new season of Total Divas. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On The Bella Twins nearly deciding not to re-sign with WWE: “That’s what’s actually great about this season. You’ll get to see the reasons why Nikki and I do go back and forth on re-signing. I’m gonna be 32, I’m married to this amazing man and I have crazy baby fever. I so badly want to become a mother. The hard part in my career is I that can’t do both. With Nikki too, I think people sometimes don’t realize how much we’re on the road. There’s no time off, there’s no vacations and you miss your family.”

“You start looking at all the wedding pictures and family reunions and you start realizing you’re not a part of those pictures. I think you start craving the simple life. But then you sometimes realize you’re not ready for it yet – but you’ll see that this season.”

On the relationship between NXT Divas and main roster Divas: “I think everyone on the main roster for the Divas would love that [more time]. Why wouldn’t you? Gosh, that’s why we’re all here, we love to wrestle. If we were able to get 20 minutes on a show that would just be a miracle. If you got to our live events you’ll see it – we get matches that long. I have to say Triple H has done such a great job down there with NXT. I hope all the NXT people realize how lucky they are. When I came into developmental we actually started off in a batting cage. There was only two rings, then we moved to a canned food building. Television didn’t exist yet with FCW [Florida Championship Wrestling], we had nothing like the Performance Center. I can only imagine starting in that.

“I can see why those girls haven’t been brought up yet because they’re running their own live events down there, they have their own shows that they’re doing very well. Because NXT’s doing so well it’s hard to bring the talent up so quickly because they have their own stories going, their own characters. There’s a lot of respect between both brands and both rosters. WWE in the end is one big family. We’re all under the same umbrella and we root for each other. At the same time, I see them more than I see my family, so you feel close to them and feel like they are family.”

On Eva Marie having heat with the Divas: “That’s why everyone got angry. For the E! audience it’ll be a little difficult for them to understand, but the WWE audience will completely understand. When our company built something so beautiful, so immaculate and you don’t want to train there with girls who are incredible in the ring, it makes no sense. It’s like, wait a second, you’d be more than blessed to be down there and you say no? It sounds crazy. It’s like someone giving you a million dollars and going, ‘No, you can keep it, that’s okay.’ What it is too is you have your girls up on the main roster who are on the road about 300 days a year, because we do a lot of filming on off-days with Total Divas – we’re barely making it home, we’re exhausted.

“You see someone like that who just wants to be in LA so she can sleep in her bed every night, enjoy her husband and we’re all looking at her like, we would have loved that too! But when you have a passion for this business you’re willing to sacrifice everything – and that’s what we all did. When you see someone else who won’t sacrifice anything, claws start coming out, things are going to be said. But I guess that’s why Total Divas is a great show to tune into, because none of us Divas hold back. We all have very strong personalities, we have very big opinions, and you’re going to see that this season.”

On what she would like The Bella Twins legacy to be in WWE: “It would be that we broke down every barrier that was made about us. My sister and I came in the business and people didn’t think we belonged in the business. We heard it over and over, week by week. We still actually hear it. And that never took us down. We were like, we don’t care. We’re going to get better. We love this too much for anyone to take it away. We proved ourselves. The difference from my sister and I compared to any other Diva is we proved ourselves in front of the audience.

“Everyone saw us improve, everyone saw our heart and our passion, month by month, year by year us getting better. No regrets. Every day we wake up with no regrets and I hope when we leave people are like, ‘I can do it because those girls never gave up and I can do the same.’ I hope I give hope to girls who watch Total Divas and are like, ‘Dude, wrestling’s cool’. Turn on the TV and say, ‘This is amazing’ and at 22 years old they’re like, ‘You know what, I wanna be a Diva’. I hope I give hope and inspiration not only to young women but older women who don’t know what they want and find something great.”

The Bella Twins™ (Nikki and Brie Bella), Natalya™ (Nattie), Eva Marie™, Paige™ and Naomi™ (Trinity) are back and ready to heat up the summer. The ladies will continue to give viewers an inside glimpse on balancing life in the spotlight with the drama of their personal lives, and the non-stop action of their professional careers, taken to new heights with Nikki Bella as the current WWE Divas Championship titleholder.

Season three of “Total Divas” remained a powerhouse for E!, reaching 1.73M Total Viewers and 1.12M Adults 18-49 in L3 ratings, solidifying its spot as one of the network’s hottest programs. In the season three finale, the Bella Twins were contemplating signing a three-year deal with WWE, but were reluctant to commit because Brie wanted to start a family and Nikki was looking into alternative business opportunities. While the Bellas were considering the next step in their careers, Natalya, Eva Marie and newcomer, Paige, were all working on their respective romantic relationships. Paige decided to put an end to her budding romance after realizing that they just weren’t a match. This season, emotions will rise as all of the ladies must truly learn the art of harmonizing their rocky personal ventures and their in-ring personas. Brie Bella struggles with the injuries endured by her husband, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan™, as well as their fertility issues. Eva becomes public enemy number one when word gets out that WWE has big plans in raising her profile. Paige lands a role in WWE Studios’ film “Santa’s Little Helper” co-starring WWE Superstar The Miz™ and wearily ventures into a new romantic relationship. With each Diva now becoming a serious contender for Nikki’s WWE Divas Championship title, this season is sure to be a knockout.

Season four of E!’s hit “Total Divas” returns on Tuesday, July 7 at 9pm ET/PT followed by the series premiere of E!’s “Hollywood Cycle,” a never before seen look inside the uber-popular, highly competitive world of indoor cycling at LA’s Cycle House.

“Good luck to all the ladies on the show!! I was really impressed with the women and their drive and thought is surpassed the men by far. As a female athlete I love to see the women on top. My experience was great!! But I’m a boxer, a pure athlete. I’m not an actress, I’m not animated. I’m real and cutthroat about what I do and get things done without making a scene. Thanks @WWE and @WWEToughEnough for the experience.”

What impresses me most about her is that she has a certain drive and determination that can only come from someone who knows what it’s like to have been down and to have struggled. Eva’s struggle has clearly created a fierce focus in her which is so cool to see and here’s the best part… she’s willin’ to put in the daily hard ass work to achieve and accomplish all of her goals in — and outside of the ring. It’s a real pleasure working with and mentoring this woman. Road is long and we’re just gettin’ started.. Plus I gave my word to our agent @bslater9 that I’ll make sure she always handles her business like a straight up G. #FutureWWEDivaChamp #OD #LetsGetToWork”
