Alexa Bliss On Being Nervous For Extreme Rules Match, How She Is Different From Bayley

Alexa Bliss has gotten the best of Bayley on the past few episodes of RAW. Tomorrow night, Bliss is set to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Bayley in a Kendo Stick On A Pole match at Extreme Rules. Alexa Bliss recently spoke to The Baltimore Sun and here are some highlights from the interview:

How she is different from Bayley:

“Oh yeah, we are polar opposites. Bayley is huggable and likes to dole out high fives. I could care less if anyone likes me. I don’t want to touch people, come on. That just makes our rivalry just that much better because we are such opposites that the feud clicks. In the ring, I just find a lot of joy in taking everything that she has away. If she goes to high five someone, I’m going to hit her after she high fives them. It’s just a lot of fun, and makes the feud that much better.”

On Bayley being the underdog even though she is bigger:

“Here’s the thing with that, Bayley does a great job of doing what she does. She has her strengths. Obviously she is the ultimate underdog, and I don’t think that my size has an impact on that. I feel like I have a big enough attitude to be 6 feet tall. I think that helps a lot. I just have to make sure that my attitude is big enough to keep it so that nobody likes me. And Bayley knows what she’s doing; she wouldn’t be in the position that she’s in if she didn’t know what she was doing and wasn’t such an amazing underdog.”

Whether she has been in a Kendo Stick On A Pole match and if she is prepared:

No, I have never. I am quite nervous about it actually. I have hit Bayley with that thing so many times and I have a feeling that she really wants to get me back for that. I’m actually kind of nervous about trying to reach the thing. It’s a race to see who can get to it first. I don’t know if you know this, but I’m 5 feet tall. I don’t know if I can reach all the way up there to grab that stick. Do I let Bayley grab it first and then take it away from her? I don’t know. That’s what my main concern is, what if I climb up there and then just can’t reach it? I’m hoping that doesn’t happen, but if it does, I’ll have to do whatever it takes to get it down.

Who Is The Best Opponent For Brock Lesnar Following Extreme Rules? (Editorial)

There will be a Fatal 5-Way match this Sunday at Extreme Rules to determine the #1 contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship. This match was made after Braun Strowman suffered an elbow injury that required surgery. Strowman was most likely going to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire. Thus, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns will compete this Sunday to determine the Superstar that is next in line for a shot at Brock Lesnar.

Here is the list of the potential opponents for Brock Lesnar that are the most intriguing:

5. Bray Wyatt

If this was a month ago, Bray Wyatt may be at the top of this list. Wyatt won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber and was on top of the world. For a brief period of time, Wyatt actually did have the whole world in his hands. His promos actually carried weight because he was winning matches and held the most important title in WWE. Wyatt then went on to have two terrible matches with Randy Orton. He lost the WWE Championship to Orton at Wrestlemania 33, in a match where bugs were projected onto the ring. All of this was done to make Wyatt seem scary and present him as a monster. The problem with that is that Wyatt still lost via an RKO, even though he apparently possesses powers that can turn off lights in the arena and project scary images onto the ring.

Wyatt and Orton followed up their disastrous Wrestlemania match with a “House of Horrors” match at WWE Payback. This was originally supposed to be Wyatt’s rematch for the WWE Championship, but instead turned into a non-title match. Wyatt defeated Orton in a train-wreck of a match, but won with the assistance of Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers. Wyatt then switched from SmackDown to RAW and is still cutting promos as if he is some monster who should be feared. His character is a model of inconsistency. How can anyone view Bray Wyatt as a monster when all of his theatrics usually result in him losing a match? It is already highly unlikely that Brock Lesnar will lose his first Universal Championship defense. If Wyatt wins at Extreme Rules, it becomes impossible to convince yourself that Lesnar may drop the title. It is also difficult to believe that WWE would place the Universal Championship on Bray Wyatt after his underwhelming run with the WWE Championship.

4. Seth Rollins

Rollins picked up a huge victory over Triple H at Wrestlemania 33. After that, he has been battling Samoa Joe for weeks on RAW and had a match against him at Payback. Samoa Joe dominated most of the match, but Rollins was able to counter the Coquina Clutch into a pin and defeated Joe. Rollins and Lesnar could certainly put on a great match, we have seen it before. Rollins defended his WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar at Battleground 2015. Lesnar essentially had the match won, but was attacked by The Undertaker and Rollins was subsequently disqualified. Rollins lost the match but kept his WWE Championship at the time.

Rollins is one of the most popular Superstars in WWE right now. It wouldn’t be a negative if Rolling emerged victorious at Extreme Rules. Lesnar and Rollins have a history, as Rollins cashed in his MITB briefcase during the Lesnar and Reigns match at Wrestlemania 31. It would be entertaining to revisit that feud now simply because Rollins is no longer aligned with The Authority. If Stephanie McMahon and Triple H return to RAW, the possibility of Lesnar aligning with them would be intriguing. It would cast Rollins as the major underdog and the WWE Universe would certainly get behind him heading into his Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar.

3. Samoa Joe

The idea of a match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar is exciting enough without a storyline in place. Samoa Joe is a freak athlete for a man of his size and can put on one hell of show with Lesnar in the ring. It would be an extremely physical match and would be a bout most wrestling fans would want to see. Samoa Joe was an excellent heel in NXT and arrived to the main roster as Triple H’s assassin. Joe targeted Seth Rollins and seemed primed to become the biggest badass in WWE. However, Rollins sustained an injury during Joe’s attack and Samoa Joe hasn’t become that monster everyone thought he would be when he arrived on the main roster.

If Samoa Joe wins at Extreme Rules, it would set up an awesome match with Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. If The Authority returns and has Joe’s back, Brock Lesnar would then be in the unique position of having to overcome the odds. Timing is everything and it simply doesn’t seem like now is the time to have a feud between Lesnar and Samoa Joe. Unfortunately, Joe hasn’t been built up as an unstoppable force on the main roster. All of that could be changed if he wins at Extreme Rules and The Authority returns to RAW. I don’t think that it will happen, but if it does I certainly won’t be complaining.

2. Finn Balor

All signs are pointing towards Finn Balor winning the Fatal 5-Way at Extreme Rules. Paul Heyman made a random appearance on RAW a couple of weeks back and interrupted Finn Balor’s promo. Heyman praised Balor and even said that his client Brock Lesnar wanted to wish Balor good luck heading into Extreme Rules. Balor told Heyman to inform Lesnar that he will win at Extreme Rules and will then reclaim the Univeral Championship that he never lost. Balor became the first-ever Universal Champion by defeating Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016. Unfortunately for Balor, he had to relinquish the title the following night on RAW due to an injury he sustained after being Powerbombed by Rollins into the barricade outside the ring.

Some argue that a match between Lesnar and Balor is ridiculous, simply because Balor is much smaller than Lesnar. I beg to differ, as WWE has already shown that they believe in Balor in the past. Balor defeated Roman Reigns in his main roster debut to earn a shot at the Universal Championship. Balor and Reigns put on a great match and I don’t see why a match against Lesnar would be any different. The days of Superstars being required to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Barbarian are gone. Lesnar and Finn Balor can put on an interesting match and it seems like WWE is heading in that direction.

1. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar is the match that would attract the most viewers, which is why it probably will not happen at Great Balls of Fire. It has been rumored that WWE has already made the decision that Lesnar and Reigns will main-event Wrestlemania 34. However, plans may have changed after Braun Strowman went down with an injury. The ratings for RAW have dipped and WWE could decide to bump that match up to Great Balls of Fire on July 9th.

Reigns and Lesnar would be the most intriguing match for several reasons. Many WWE fans still cannot stand Roman Reigns and Reigns retiring The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33 didn’t help that at all. There are also a lot of people that dislike Brock Lesnar as Universal Champion because he doesn’t appear on WWE television every week. Whenever this match does take place, the energy in the arena will be amazing. There will be hatred for both Superstars and their fans will be battling to drown out those chants. Wrestlemania seems like the perfect place to have this match and it wouldn’t feel as special if it were to take place this July. Having said that, it is still the most intriguing out of them all and will be awesome to watch whenever it goes down.

WWE Extreme Rules 2017 Match Card & Predictions

Mixed Tag Team Match: Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs Alicia Fox & Noam Darr

Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox have been battling for the past few weeks on WWE RAW. Rich Swann picked up a victory over Alicia Fox’s boyfriend Noam Dar on Monday night. Banks then joined Swann on 205 Live last night. Swann ultimately lost to Dar as Banks and Fox brawled outside the ring.

This is one of those matches where I honestly could care less who wins. I’m going to predict Sasha Banks and Rich Swann will pick up the victory. They will then dance around the ring after the match as everyone in the crowd sits motionless.

Predicted Winners: Sasha Banks & Rich Swann

Cruiserweight Championship Submission Match: Neville (c) vs Austin Aries

Austin Aries and Neville have been in a feud dating back to before Wrestlemania 33. Everyone believed that Neville had the upper-hand in a Submission Match but Aries applied the Last Chancery to Neville on RAW this week and forced Neville to submit. Aries gloated about making Neville submit last night on 205 Live. TJP attacked Aries from behind and Neville then joined in on the beatdown. The referees eventually broke up the beatdown, but Neville is now heading into Extreme Rules with the momentum.

Neville is a great heel champion, but I think it is finally time to give Austin Aries a run with the belt. I think that this match will be very entertaining and Aries will once again make Neville tap out to the Last Chancery.

Predicted Winner & New Cruiserweight Champion: Austin Aries

RAW Women’s Championship Kendo Stick On A Pole Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs Bayley

Alexa Bliss has accused Bayley of being incapable of going “extreme”. On this past week’s episode of RAW, Bliss hosted a horrific segment and brought out fake people of Bayley’s past. There was an ex-boyfriend, a friend and a fourth grade teacher. The entire promo was to make it seem like Bayley relies on her father and doesn’t have what it takes to win a Kendo Stick on a Pole match. Bayley stormed the ring and attacked Alexa. However, Bliss once again outsmarted Bayley and struck her with a kendo stick to end the promo.

I thought this feud had the potential to be great when Alexa Bliss joined RAW after the Superstar Shake-Up. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I thought Alexa Bliss would help out Bayley, who seems to struggle with promos on the main roster for some reason. That hasn’t been the case, as Alexa Bliss was a part of the worst promo I’ve seen in some time on this week’s episode of RAW. I’d like to think that WWE would keep the RAW Women’s Championship on Alexa Bliss for a little while longer, but I don’t think that will be the case. Bayley gets her revenge on Alexa Bliss by beating her down with the kendo stick and recaptures the RAW Women’s Championship.

Predicted Winner & New RAW Women’s Champion: Bayley

RAW Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match: The Hardy Boyz vs Sheamus & Cesaro

The Hardy Boyz have gotten the best of Sheamus and Cesaro for several weeks. They have defeated them in tag matches and singles matches. On this past week’s episode of RAW, Matt and Jeff Hardy teamed up with Dean Ambrose to defeat Sheamus, Cesaro and The Miz.

Sheamus and Cesaro emerge from the steel cage as the new RAW Tag Team Champions. I’m hoping this feud will continue and The Hardys try to recapture their titles in the near future. I think that this will be one of the best matches at Extreme Rules this Sunday.

Predicted Winners & New RAW Tag Team Champions: Sheamus & Cesaro

Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs The Miz

The Miz got his wish and RAW GM Kurt Angle added the stipulation that if Dean Ambrose is disqualified, he will lose the Intercontinental Championship. This all stems from Ambrose hitting The Miz with a low-blow during an Intercontinental Championship match on RAW.

The Miz and Maryse will desperately try to get Ambrose disqualified the entire match. The referee will be distracted and Ambrose will hit The Miz with a low-blow and follow it up with a Dirty Deeds for the victory. The Miz will then spend the entire episode of RAW the following night complaining about how Ambrose should have been disqualified.

Predicted Winner & Still Intercontinental Champion: Dean Ambrose

Universal Championship No. 1 Contender’s Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Match: Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe vs Bray Wyatt vs Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns seems to be the favorite in this one. On last week’s episode of RAW, he defeated Seth Rollins in a terrific main-event. Reigns knows what it is like going up against “The Beast” Brock Lesnar and will no doubt stop at nothing to win Sunday night at Extreme Rules.

Paul Heyman recently said that Brock Lesnar wants to face Finn Balor the most on a recent episode of RAW. Finn Balor is the smallest Superstar in this match but he proved that means nothing in his match against Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe on RAW. Balor drilled Bray Wyatt with the Coupe de Grace but Samoa Joe threw him out of the ring and stole the victory. Samoa Joe could certainly put on one hell of match against Brock Lesnar.

Bray Wyatt is an interesting option in this match. He was recently WWE Champion on SmackDown and joined the RAW roster during WWE’s Superstar Shake-Up. However, Wyatt was a part of two horrible PPV matches with Randy Orton in a row. Wyatt is back to cutting ominous promos and losing matches on RAW. I’d say he is the biggest underdog to win this match.

Seth Rollins hasn’t been a part of the Universal Championship picture for a bit. He defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 33 and has been battling with Samoa Joe for the past month or so. Rollins did come down to the ring a couple weeks back on RAW and said that he wanted to face Brock Lesnar. That wish will become a reality if he is able to win this Sunday at Extreme Rules. Rollins and Lesnar have already had some memorable moments in the past.

I don’t think Roman Reigns will win this match on Sunday. Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns has Wrestlemania main-event written all over it. The only match I wouldn’t really be interested in seeing is Bray Wyatt versus Brock Lesnar. I’m going to need some more time to get over the awfulness that was the Wyatt and Orton feud. I’m going with Finn Balor to win this match. He had to forfeit the Universal Championship due to injury right after winning it. I just think it makes sense and Balor can certainly put on a great match with Lesnar. Brock will spend most of the match whipping Balor around the ring, but Finn will constantly battle back. I think it will be an interesting feud and would help make Balor a bigger star than he already is.

Predicted Winner & #1 Contender For Universal Championship: Finn Balor

After a near-fall, Corbin cuts Ziggler’s comeback short with the Deep Six for a near-fall of his own. The Usos vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows: This match will be under Tornado Tag rules with all four men legal at all times. The Bullet Club takes the Usos to the outside early on. Back in the ring, we get a series of near-falls after the Usos hit a double superkick and The Club hit some of their signature moves. Anderson and Gallows get extreme on the outside with the ring bell and a steel chair, and after a missed splash by Jey they hit the Magic Killer on him for the win.

Rusev def. Kalisto: Rusev dominates the opening moment of the match almost entirely and keeps Kalisto grounded. Kalisto does some damage with a sleeper hold then drops Rusev with a Tornado DDT. He hits a spinning shoulder tackle and a hurricanrana for a 2 count. Kalisto keeps the high-flying offensive coming with a hurricanrana that sends Rusev head-first into the steps at ringside. Back in the ring, Rusev drops Kalisto on the ring apron then locks in a sleeper hold for the win.

– The New Day comes out and we get a replay of their “time machine” segment from RAW. They get in the ring with garden tools and cut a promo on the Vaudevillians.

The New Day def. The Vaudevillains: Big E and Xavier are in for The New Day. The Vaudevillains take things to the outside and get the advantage early on. Big E gets the hot tag and hits a series of belly to belly suplexes on English. English comes back with a knee to the face and a DDT for a 2 count. Big E spears Aiden English to the outside. While the ref’s back is turned, Kofi kicks Simon Gotch in the head then Xavier follows up with a running knee for the win.

The Miz def. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens: As soon as the bell rings, Zayn kicks Owens to the outside then Cesaro uppercuts Miz to the outside. Zayn hits a hurricanrana and spinning heel kick for a 2 count. Zayn hits a suicide dive on Cesaro and Miz over the top rope onto the floor at ringside. Owens gets back in the ring and breaks up a superplex attempt and goes to work on Zayn. The Miz and Zayn go for a double-team superplex on Owens, and Cesaro gets in on the action to powerbomb Zayn and Miz. Cesaro tries to pin both Zayn and Miz but only gets 2 counts. The Miz goes for a t-bone suplex on Zayn, but Cesaro comes behind him for a German suplex on Miz that sends both him and Zayn flying. Cesaro hits some uppercuts on all 3 of his opponents, before Owens comes back and hits cannonsballs on all of them in the corners. Everyone hits their finishers, and Cesaro kicks out of the Skull Crushing Finale. Cesaro hits a spinning uppercut off the middle rope, then swings The Miz. Zayn hits a t-bone suplex on Cesaro in the corner, but then walks into a superkick from Owens, who also hits a pop-up powerbomb on Cesaro for a 2 count. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Owens at ringside. Zayn hits a big kick on Cesaro in the corner but Owens breaks up the pin and they brawl at ringside. The Miz steals the pin on Cesaro for the win.

Asylum Match: Dean Ambrose def. Chris Jericho: Jericho tries to escape in the opening moments, but he’s informed the door is locked until the match is over. Ambrose hits a cross body block on Jericho then starts pummeling him before throwing Jericho head-first into the cage wall. Ambrose grabs the mob and beats Jericho down with it, including stabbing him in the ear with it. Jericho comes back and tries to grab the barbed wire bat, but Ambrose suplexes him off the corner. Ambrose grabs the nunchucks and and Jericho grabs the barbed wire bat. Ambrose gets the better of the exchange and unloads on Jericho with the nunchucks. Jericho gets up and quickly scales the cage to grab the kendo stick and take control of the match. Jericho grabs the leather strap and goes to town on Ambrose. Jericho tries to get out the door again but can’t so he starts climbing. Ambrose stops him and crotches Jericho on the ropes. Jericho throws the straight jacket on Ambrose’s face to “blind” him then hits a spinning heel kick. He hits a springboard dropkick on Ambrose into the cage wall. Jericho tries to put Ambrose in the straight jacket but he avoids it and hits a series of punches and a clothesline for a 2. Ambrose hits a flying elbow on Jericho from the top of the cage. Ambrose gets the bucket and empties it — it’s full of thumbtacks. They try to throw each other into the thumbtacks but neither are successful. Jericho throws Ambrose into the cage then goes for a Lionsault but Ambrose gets his knees up. Jericho gets Ambrose in the Walls of Jericho, but Ambrose grabs the kendo stick and beats Jericho with it to break the hold. Jericho sprays Ambrose with the fire extinguisher then hits the Codebreaker for 2. He goes for another Codebreaker, but Ambrose slams Jericho into the thumbtacks then hits the Dirty Deeds into them for the win.

Submission Match: Charlotte def. Natalya: Natalya starts off in control and puts Charlotte in a surfboard hold. Charlotte gets out and Natalya puts her back down with a discus clothesline. They go to the outside and Charlotte mounts a comeback, then back in the ring hits an elbow and a big boot to the face. Charlotte puts Natalya in a few submissions but she won’t give up. She hits a moonsault and a half Crab. Natalya comes back with a German suplex and locks in the Sharpshooter until Ric Flair’s music hits. Instead of Flair, Dana Brooke comes out and distracts Natalya. Charlotte hits Natalya from behind and puts her in the Figure Eight for the win.

Extreme Rules: Roman Reigns def. AJ Styles: They go back and forth in the opening moments of the World Heavyweight Title main event, and Roman Reigns gets a “You can’t wrestle” chant from the New Jersey crowd. Reigns goes to hit AJ with a steel chair, but AJ rolls out of the way. They brawl on the outside and AJ clears off an announce table. He clotheslines Reigns out into the crowd and they brawl through the audience. They fight over to the Kickoff show desk and Reigns throws AJ onto it. AJ kicks Reigns in the head from the top of the table and follows up with a Phenomenal Forearm off the table. They get back to the ringside area and AJ pulls back the padding on the floor. He goes for a Styles Clash on Reigns on the exposed concrete, but Reigns gets out and goes to powerbomb AJ through an announce table. AJ reverses it by punching Reigns in the face repeatedly, then goes for a Styles Clash through the table. Reigns gets out and gives AJ a big back body drop through the adjacent announce table. Back in the ring, Reigns goes for a Razor’s Edge into a sitout powerbomb for a 2 count. Reigns goes for a Superman punch but AJ ducks and gives him a back body drop. Reigns is selling his knee, and AJ gives him a vertical suplex into the turnbuckle. Reigns rolls to the outside and AJ comes running off the apron for a hurricanrana. Reigns catches him and powerbombs him through another announce table. Reigns misses a spear and and AJ throws him back in the ring. AJ goes for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Reigns hits him with the superman punch while he’s on the top rope, and AJ falls to the floor. AJ starts getting up and Reigns jumps off the ring steps and takes him down with a spear. Reigns throws AJ back in the ring, but The Bullet Club runs in and lays out Reigns. The Usos come out for the save. They clear the ring and hit a couple superkicks and a splash on Styles. Styles blocks a superman punch with a kick and hits the Styles Clash, but Reigns kicks out at 2. Reigns goes for another superman punch but this time runs into the Pele kick. AJ hits the Styles Clash onto a chair, but one of the Usos breaks up the pin. AJ kicks him away and goes to pin again, but Reigns kicks out at 2 again. AJ grabs the steel chair and lays out the Usos and Reigns with it. AJ takes his elbow pad off and goes for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Reigns catches him with a spear in mid-air for the win.

– After the match, Reigns is celebrating in the ring when Seth Rollins comes out of nowhere and hits the Pedigree on Reigns. Rollins grabs the title belt and stands tall over Reigns. He holds the belt up in the air as the crowd pops and Extreme Rules 2016 goes off the air.

Rumor On WWE Announcing More Departures This Month

After last week’s “Black Friday” firing spree, the word going around was that more releases were on the way. Since then, the Brooklyn Brawler’s 30-year run with WWE ended, Christian’s in-ring performer contract was terminated and Adam Rose has been suspended indefinitely.

Regarding the rumors that even more releases are coming soon, PWInsider reports that the next wave of releases are expected to take place after next weekend’s Extreme Rules event.

As was the case with Damien Sandow, most of the releases are being done to make way for new signings. Vince McMahon noted during this week’s earnings call that WWE will have their largest roster ever in the next month or so.

Fatal 4 Way Match Set For WWE Extreme Rules

On Monday’s RAW, Shane and Stephanie McMahon met about The Miz defending his IC title against Kevin Owens and Cesaro at Extreme Rules. Sami Zayn wanted to be part of the match – but first, he’d have to defeat The Miz in singles action to qualify. He went on to do so and the Fatal 4 Way match is set.

  • Submission Match: WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Natalya (Ric Flair banned from ringside)
  • Fatal 4 Way: WWE IC Champion The Miz vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn

Two Title Matches Added To Extreme Rues (5/22)

On RAW two more title matches were made official for Extreme Rules. The Vaudevillains have been named #1 contenders to New Day’s tag titles.

Stephanie McMahon also announced that Natalya will challenge Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship in a submission match. Natalya’s sharpshooter is being pitted against Charlotte’s figure 8 and Ric Flair is barred from ringside.

These matches are in addition to the Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles Extreme Rules main event for the WWE World Heavyweight championship.

Extreme Rules takes place on Sunday, May 22nd, from Newark, New Jersey.

Extreme Rules Main Event, Stephanie & Shane Running RAW

Mr. McMahon announced last night at Payback that Shane and Stephanie McMahon will both be in charge of WWE moving forward, a compromise of sorts to see if the two can co-exist. There was no mention of Triple H having a formal role as part of this new regime, but there’s speculation that Shane and Triple H will eventually wrestle a match. The good news is that the era of The Authority’s death grip on RAW appears to be over and this new ‘checks and balances’ system will bring some much needed relief from completely overbearing authority figures.

Later in the show, Vince McMahon signed off on Shane McMahon’s suggestion that the main event of Extreme Rules should be AJ Styles challenging Roman Reigns in an Extreme Rules match. Stephanie agreed with Shane’s idea, so the two of them are starting off on the same page. We’ll see how long that lasts.

WWE Extreme Rues takes place in less than three weeks on Sunday, May 22nd.

Changes To WWE’s Upcoming PPV Schedule (Updated)

UPDATE:

According to PWInsider, Payback will be on May 1st with the location to be announced, while Extreme Rules is now indeed the May 22nd show in Newark, New Jersey.

ORIGINAL:

Well, this is curious.

All of a sudden, on Ticketmaster’s website, WWE Payback on May 22nd, which is in the middle of its ticket pre-sale, has been renamed Extreme Rules, logo and all. At least as of last night during Monday Night Raw, all local New York market ads for the tickets going on sale (the card is at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey), the show was still branded as PayBack.

Extreme Rules had originally ben scheduled for April 24th (three weeks after WrestleMania), but no location had been announced and tickets never went on sale. Extreme Rules is, as of right now, not listed on WWE.com’s event page in any form, though Payback is. Unless there’s something else going on, it looks like the second April pay-per-view has been cancelled to have a longer build for the May post-WrestleMania special. Maybe there’s a piece of the puzzle missing, but with Newark tickets on sale and no location even announced for the second April show, it looks like this is the case.
