Corre Added To SmackDown, Valentine Declines Tough Enough

— Members of The Corre, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett, have been added to the SmackDown Superstars page on WWE.com.

Barrett announced the formation of the group last night on SmackDown.

— Lizzy Valentine recently revealed to fans on her Facebook account that the casting director for the upcoming season of WWE Tough Enough urged her to submit an application for the USA Network reality show. In an update on the situation, Valentine said she declined registering for the show. She will instead perform for MTV2’s Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors as she is on hand for this weekend’s tapings at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mason Ryan Still Green, Upcoming SD Feud, New Talent

– We reported earlier this week that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is being considered for a role on the new season of Tough Enough, which begins the night after WrestleMania. RAW star William Regal is also being considered for the show and would serve as one of the coaches, similar to Al Snow’s role on the original show.

– WWE has signed Mexican wrestler El Hijo de Medico Asesino to a developmental deal. He’s expected to head to Florida Championship Wrestling in the coming weeks.

– Following last week’s brutal beatdown of the Big Show by Wade Barrett’s new group on SmackDown, a feud between the 7 foot giant and Ezekiel Jackson is in the works.

– Sources from WWE developmental note that Mason Ryan is still considered green in the ring and on the mic. Ryan is generally well liked by his peers and understands he’s still at the beginning of what looks to be a promising career. According to a WWE source, when Mason Ryan won the Florida Championship Wrestling title last summer, he didn’t understand why he was being pushed so hard over other developmental talents that he thought were farther along than him.

Why WWEUniverse.com Was Shut Down, Ezekiel Jackson Update

— Joey Styles revealed Saturday on Twitter why World Wrestling Entertainment shut down its social networking site, WWEUniverse.com: “We closed wweuniverse.com b/c facebook.com/wwe grew so incredibly large so incredibly quickly.”

The other reason why WWE’s answer to MySpace was shut down was because it was expensive to run, both in hosting costs and in man hours needed to monitor the site.

— Yet-to-debut SmackDown talent Ezekiel Jackson beat Tyler Reks in a squash match at Saturday night’s SmackDown live event in Lexington, Kentucky. WWE has been running “Coming Soon” vignettes of Jackson since the Dec. 17 SmackDown.

— WWE developmental wrestler Percy Watson beat Chavo Guerrero at SmackDown’s live event in Lexington, Kentucky.

Raw Star Jumps To SmackDown, Orton Autograph Signing, More

— It was announced on tonight’s episode of SmackDown that Ezekiel Jackson has joined the Friday night brand. He will make his debut on next week’s show.

— Big Show and Randy Orton have been announced as this year’s WWE representatives at the annual Washington Auto Show at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. Big Show will be appearing at the event on Wednesday, Feb. 2. while “The Viper” will be there the following day.

— The Dec. 16 episode of WWE Superstars garnered a 0.6 cable rating, with 734,000 viewers. Viewership was up from previous week, which was a 0.5 cable rating, with 537,000 viewers

R-Truth Addresses Health Scare, Jackson Booked For SmackDown

— R-Truth posted a message on his Twitter account yesterday acknowledging online reports that he was recently hospitalized after experiencing a health scare when he went into convulsions. HE wrote:

“Wanna say Thank you to EVERYONE who sent prayers and get wells to me! That’s what’s up!!! 1luv”

Truth wrestled at last weekend’s Tribute To The Troops tapings, but missed Monday’s Raw

— Raw Superstar Ezekiel Jackson is scheduled to appear on upcoming SmackDown live events. He did not work Monday’s television taping.

— WWE Champion The Miz appears on The Seven on MTV today at 5 p.m. ET.

WWE Rep Comments On Austin Rumor, Jackson Denies Report

— Regarding Jeff The Drunk’s claim on The Howard Stern Show that he and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin would appear as guest celebrities on the Dec. 27 Raw in Albany, NY, a WWE representative said, “I think this is one of the reasons why Stern calls him Jeff The Drunk”.

— The first SmackDown taping of 2011 will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at the Tucson Arena in Tucson, Arizona.

— Ezekiel Jackson denied reports that he suffered an injury during a match at Wednesday’s Raw live event in Nice, France, writing on Twitter, “not true.”

Why Vince Missed RAW, Hart Dynasty Breakup, Jackson

– We reported on Monday that WWE chairman Vince McMahon was scheduled to appear on this week’s live RAW. While there were plans for Vince to appear live and promote the company’s new “Stand Up For WWE” campaign, time constraints, prevented this from happening and they just aired a video package.

– It appeared that WWE was originally planning to turn David Hart Smith heel against Tyson Kidd, it now appears that Tyson Kidd is the one going heel.

– As we saw on RAW, Ezekiel Jackson returned to television and was added to Team RAW at Bragging Rights. Mark Henry had been rumored to be the final member of Team RAW, but Henry’s brother has been fighting for his life after suffering a stroke on October 3rd and Henry wasn’t able to guarantee he could be at the PPV on Sunday.

Edge Traded To SmackDown, Jackson Competes In Dark Match

— It was announced during Raw that Edge has been traded to the SmackDown brand. It was not disclosed who would be heading to Raw in exchange for the “Rated-R Superstar.”

— Ezekiel Jackson defeated Primo in a dark match prior to tonight’s live Raw broadcast in Wichita, Kansas. It was Jackson’s second match since returning last month from a tear in his right quadriceps muscle.

— The USA Network had listed the Nov. 15 episode of Monday Night Raw as a three-hour broadcast, but it is now scheduled for its regularly allotted time.

WWE Injury Report: Cena, Mysterio, Morrison, Triple H

– Since his match at WrestleMania with Batista, WWE Champion John Cena has been suffering from back and knee problems.

– In addition to the neck problems Triple H is suffering from right now, one of The Game’s surgically repaired quads is giving him trouble. Right now, Triple H is scheduled to work only television and PPV events. He was kept off WWE’s European tour to rest up for his Street Fight with Sheamus at Extreme Rules.

– Rey Mysterio had to be assisted leaving Tuesday’s television taping in London, England following his show closer dark match with CM Punk.

– John Morrison may have suffered an injury during the company’s ongoing tour as he did not work Tuesday’s SmackDown taping. However, it should be noted that it is not 100% confirmed.

— WWE.com confirmed this week that Ezekiel Jackson underwent successful surgery to repair his torn quadriceps. According to WWE, the recovery process could sideline the final ECW Champion for up to six months. Tough break for the young star.

Matt Hardy Injured (Picture), Ezekiel Jackson Out 3-6 Months

– SmackDown star Ezekiel Jackson posted a note on Twitter updating fans on the leg injury he suffered during amatch with Kane over the weekend. “Out 3 to 6 months,” Jackson wrote.

– Matt Hardy was also injured on the overseas tour. He posted the following picture on Twtitter with the caption, “Ouch! Keep your fingers crossed for me.. Hopefully not torn..”

Injury Updates on Triple H, Ezekiel Jackson & Ted DiBiase

— Triple H is tentatively booked for television and pay-per-view events due to lingering neck problems.

— While Ezekiel Jackson’s injury at yesterday’s SmackDown live event in Glasgow, Scotland has not yet been diagnosed, the early belief is that he suffered a torn quadriceps.

— Ted DiBiase was busted open hard way at yesterday’s Raw live event in Ireland during his bout with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, requiring several staples in his head to close the wound.

— Today is Dustin “Goldust” Runnels’ birthday as he turns 41 years old.

Jackson Suffers Injury In Scotland, Notes On Edge & The Miz

— Ezekiel Jackson was apparently injured at yesterday’s SmackDown house show in Glasgow, Scotland.

Competing against Kane, “The Big Red Machine” threw Jackson over the top rope within a few minutes into the match. When Jackson returned to the ring, he laid down and Kane covered him for the win.

A fan in attendance believes Jackson blew out his right knee. After Kane made his quick exit, company personnel came out to assist him to the back.

— Edge is featured on the cover of the May 2010 issue of WWE Magazine. He was also made the “guest editor” for its 4th annual guest editor issue.

— The Miz will be appearing on Blue Peter on BBC One this Tuesday at 4.35 p.m.

WWE To Hold Draft For ECW Talent?, WWE Returning To MSG

— Ezekiel Jackson has been moved to the Smackdown Superstars page on WWE.com. Meanwhile, Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft are still listed as members of the ECW roster despite appearing on last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

It’s worth noting that the WWE Superstars page indicates that remaining ECW talent will be distributed to Raw or SmackDown by way of draft. The page reads: “Check out Christian and the rest of the final ECW roster before the Superstars are drafted to either Raw or SmackDown.”

— WWE will be holding a Raw & Smackdown Supershow at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, June 19th, 2010 (the night before the Fatal Four Way pay-per-view). Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 13th, 2010 at 10 a.m. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

ECW Star Confirmed For SmackDown, Divas Play Poker, More

— This week’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown — which has already aired in Australia — ran a promo package saying Ezekiel Jackson is coming to the show.

— The Bella Twins will be participating in Lupus LA’s celebrity poker tournament next Thursday in West Hollywood. “Get Lucky for Lupus!” is a charity event to raise money and bring lupus awareness to the forefront. Visit www.lupusla.org for more information.

— In a trivia note, this Sunday’s Divas Championship Match between Maryse and Gail Kim will be the first first women’s bout to take place on a WWE pay-per-view during the month of February since 2001. The 2001 edition of No Way Out saw Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley go over Trish Stratus.

Why Jackson Won The ECW Title, Tiffany Playboy Update

— Vince McMahon made the call to have Ezekiel Jackson win the ECW Championship in order to give him momentum as he heads to SmackDown. There were some on creative pushing for Christian to retain the title to give ECW a “happy ending” but shot down.

— As noted earlier, Tiffany is peculiarly pictured fully naked in Playboy magazine despite WWE’s apparent ban on nude photo shoots. According to The Sun, the pictures were taken before she joined World Wrestling Entertainment. Playboy owns the rights to the photos and have now published the set as a six-page pictorial.

— WWE returns to the Molson Centre in Barrie, Ontario, Canada on Friday, May 14th, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 10 AM.
