Gail Kim’s First Post-WWE Appearance, Rotten Denies Report

Other wrestling talent slated to appear include Maria Kanellis, Candice Michelle, Charlie Haas and Brimstone (who lists himself as an actor, author, philanthropist and comic book hero, in addition to professional wrestler).

— It was reported last week that former ECW star Axl Rotten was seeking donations on Twitter because he would be evicted from his home if he didn’t come up with $5,000. He caught wind of the report and says it is absolutely untrue.

Rotten released the following statement: “Yes, I am having financial issues right now (along with millions of other Americans) I DID NOT EVER post anything asking for fans to give me $5000. I have asked for support from “friends and fans” alike. I want this to be made 100% clear! Yes, times are very tight for me, I’m working hard at going back to school, finding a “9 to 5″ job and seeking as many bookings as I can get.”

Gail Kim Updates Her WWE Status, Does Not Respect Vince

WWE diva Gail Kim, who tried quitting the company two weeks ago but was denied her release, has updated fans on her status – and took a major swipe at Vince McMahon in the process.

Gail Kim tweeted the following on Sunday:

“For everyone asking, once again I’m still on a mini-vacation (meaning don’t work for the I-won’t-acknowledge-there’s-any-competition), but have some upcoming appearances and have a few projects on the table.

“So like I said before, this won’t be the last you see of me. Just be patient. You’ll be seeing a lot of me in this next coming year…

“It’s great that everyone is hopeful but I’m nonofficially/officially done. I’m ready to make things happen for myself instead of leaving it into someone else’s hands. Especially into the hands of a person who didn’t believe in me.

“Why should I waste more of my time when I believe in myself? I’m ready to accomplish things for myself and not for a boss I have no respect for.”

Gail Kim To Remain Under Contract, Melina Comments On Raw

— Gail Kim, who announced last Friday on Twitter that she quit WWE four days earlier, revealed tonight on the microblogging website that WWE is keeping her under contract until it expires to prevent her from competing elsewhere.

She wrote, “This is the current situation 4 every1 who’s asking: I quit last mon. And apparently after a total of 5 yrs of working for a co. where I was not utilized or appreciated,I’m now 4 some reason, valuable enough 2 keep me under the remainder of my contract so I can’t work elsewhere. Controlling? Thoughts?”

Kim was then asked how much longer she will be affiliated with WWE, to which she replied, “Not much longer.”

— Beth Phoenix was apparently scripted to take a shot at recently released WWE Diva Melina during her promo tonight on Raw in which she said she was sick of the Divas division being made a mockery of. “No more booty popping, no more splits, no more stink faces,” Beth said following her victory over Eve.

Melina wrote on Twitter, “PS- Any Diva can try 2 do a split from here on out but what the WWE confirmed is that the SPLITS will always remind the world of me. Thank u.

She continued, “I love the statement peeps! I bet the powers that be were waiting all night 2 hear that line go on air. Hee hee. I find it very flattering!”

Latest On Gail Kim’s WWE Status, FCW Talent Confirms Release

— WWE has yet to remove Gail Kim from their website’s talent roster or announce her departure from the company. WWE sources say since she quit the organization, an official decision regarding her departure has yet to be made.

There is hope Kim would change her mind and the situation would blow over, but given her dismissive stance towards the organization on Twitter, it appears unlikely at this point.

Kim has been vocal with her unhappiness for the past several months. No one within WWE was surprised that she quit.

— It was reported this afternoon that eight WWE developmental wrestlers had been removed from the official website of Florida Championship Wrestling; Bobby Dutch, Colin Cassady, DeSean Bishop, Jason Mullen, Leroy Parks, Lucky Cannon, Cameron Lynn (Tough Enough contestant Ariane Andrew) and Sonia. Bishop stated today on Twitter that he was released on Friday, writing: “I got released friday from FCW. DeSean Bishop is no more. I wanna thank everyone who supported me. Im going to keep this site open under this name 2 commemorate the good old days.”

Cannon, meanwhile, implied Friday on Twitter that he had parted ways with WWE. He wrote, “This is my final tweet…. Nothing lasts forever, NOTHING! Good or bad this to shall pass.”

Kim Insists She Quit WWE, TNA Knockouts Lobby For Return

Gail Kim insisted Friday on her Twitter account that she quit WWE on Monday and was not released.

“I didn’t ask for a release. I QUIT,” she wrote to TNA Wrestling performer Lisa Marie Varon (a/k/a Tara). “Lol meaning I don’t want their money I’d rather be freeeeeeee haha.

She commented further, “I don’t know but I’ve been telling them since Monday I quit. So either they have control issues or they’re in denial.”

WWE, however, has yet to announce that she has been released from the organization. Regarding their lack of announcement, she wrote, “Future endeavor message? Ok here it is: I wish the WWE the best in their future endeavors!”

Varon is lobbying on Twitter for Kim to return to TNA Wrestling, where the Canadian grappler presided as the first Women’s Knockout Champion.

“Super excited to hear about Gail asking for her release. TNA TNA TNA!!!!!” she exclaimed. “Oops I mean Impact Wrestling! Impact Wrestling! Impact Wrestling!!!!”

Christy Hemme, who appears as a ring announcer for TNA, is also lobbying for Kim to return.

“What!??!? Come back to TNA then!!!” she wrote after learning of Kim’s departure from WWE. “Love seeing all the excitement for Gail Kim. My fav bad ass female wrestler makes life on her own terms!! Of course she does!!”

Kim says she is glad to leave WWE, calling it “the best thing ever.”

Gail Kim Says She Has Quit WWE

Gail Kim announced this afternoon on Twitter that she has quit WWE.

She wrote, “Hey I just wanted every1 to know that I officially quit WWE on monday. So thank u wwe fans! This won’t be the last u see of me. Love u guys.”

She is, however, still listed as a member of the Raw roster on WWE.com.

Amidst the chaos of the opening moments of the No. 1 Contender’s Diva Battle Royal on Monday’s Raw, Kim eliminated herself from the contest by hastily sliding under the bottom rope after striking Alicia Fox. She was then asked to comment on her peculiar action and admitted to leaving the match on purpose. Her reason behind the move was that she “was just checking to see if anyone was paying attention.” She added that no one backstage noticed, calling it “sad,” yet also “very amusing.”

Kim then denied speculation that she was trying to get fired by WWE, writing, “Nooooo I’m not doing my best to get fired. Wrestling websites who like to make up news with their wild imagination…haha don’t believe it.”

“Thank u! The response of our match has been unbelievable and it was TRULY a dream come true. Imagine if we were given a storyline or some more time behind it! Sigh….”

She then wrote the following in response to a Twitter follower wishing WWE would bring former Women’s Champion Trish Stratus back to the fold:

“There’s not a lack of talent, it’s the lack of time, storylines and use of talent!”

Kim then wrote a message to Stratus longing for days gone by:

“I would love to go back to what we had back in those years! Those were like ironwoman matches back then compared to now lol.”

Following Kim’s critical messages, a follower remarked to Kim: “Instead of bitching; why don’t you leave? People could perceive your tweets a bad attitude?” Kim, however, feels she’s telling the truth.

She responded,

“Oh thats not #!@%*#ing lol just the truth :) and I don’t live my life based on what people perceive. Can’t please everyone all the time.”

Kim then said she’s happy to be a regular on WWE Superstars because she gets to “wrestle.”

WWE Regrets Cutting Mickie James, Searching For Assistance

(sources: Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Pro Wrestling Torch)

Beth Phoenix’s injury two weeks ago during a Superstars taping was significantly worse than originally let on. During a bout with Rosa Mendes, she jumped off the turnbuckle, resulting in her left knee giving out. She was diagnosed with a bone bruise, a torn and displaced meniscus — a sprained MCL and a torn ACL — which required surgery. She underwent the surgery yesterday in Birmingham, Alabama under Dr. James Andrews and is expected to be out of action for approximately six months.

Initial reaction to the seriousness of her injury is that a lot of people within WWE now regret cutting Mickie James loose last month, since the company is left with marginal depth on the SmackDown babyface side. It’s said that James’ behavior on the European tour was the deciding factor in letting her go. However, her release had been brewing as there was talk of cutting her prior WrestleMania due to her behavior. Notably, James had a few run-ins with Batista with things becoming so heated that he threatened to quit if she wasn’t fired. Undertaker had to step in to calm him down.

There was talk this week of moving Gail Kim over to SmackDown, or signing someone outside the company who can work. With Lisa Marie Varon’s contract with TNA expiring this week, there is a chance the company may re-sign her. However, her age is a huge question not to mention that she said some things disparaging the company after she left that could possibly hurt her if people remember them. Most notably, she took part in a pseudo-shoot segment last December railing her previous employer, emotionally saying she broke her two-year contract with WWE to come to TNA. She also said she left WWE because she didn’t want to be remembered as a ‘joke’.
