Video: Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards Debut In TNA

Former ROH Tag Team champions Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards made their TNA television debuts on Thursday’s Genesis edition of Impact Wrestling.

They appeared in a backstage segment with TNA President Dixie Carter, who said she’s excited for their “tryout match” on next week’s show. Their team name is The Wolves, a variation of their “American Wolves” name in ROH. Carter told the Wolves that if they impress her, they might be offered contracts. This is obviously a reference to their short stint in WWE NXT, where they worked at the WWE Performance Center and wrestled on an NXT TV taping, but were not signed.

Davey Richards said that they’ve already been signed to contracts by a new “TNA investor” – also playing off the reports that country music star Toby Keith was at one point in talks with TNA about investing in the company.

Despite the fact that Dixie Carter said they’d be wrestling on next week’s show, they did not wrestle at the Genesis Week 2 tapings that took place on Thursday night.

As reported earlier this week, Sting has actually been working for TNA without a contract – and has been in talks with WWE regarding a match at WrestleMania XXX.

-According to reports, the mood in TNA regarding the company taking the television show back to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida was well-received. Hulk Hogan Files $50 Million Lawsuit, Backstage Morale At Geneiss & More

TMZ.com has an article about Hulk Hogan filing a $50 million lawsuit against the Laser Spine Institute in Florida. LSI performed several procedures on his back starting in 2009 to treat multiple lumbar spinal abnormalities including scoliosis and multiple bulging discs, but Hogan claims that the procedures actually made his back worse and says he was never informed that the laser treatment only provided temporary pain relief.

Hogan eventually underwent major back surgery with a different team of doctors and says he missed out on tens of millions of dollars in employment opportunities. If that’s not bad enough, Hogan says LSI used his name and image to promote their business without his permission.

TNA Impact Does Best Rating Since August, Genesis Before The Bell (Video), TNA Sponsorship Deal Ends?

    – Thursday’s live episode of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV did a strong 1.14 rating with 1.62 million viewers. Maybe it was the return of Sting or the fact that it was the first live Impact in several weeks, but this was the best viewership for the show since August 23rd, when the show had 1.72 million viewers.

    – It appears that TNA’s sponsorship deal with Direct Auto Insurance has ended, because all Direct Auto banners have been removed from the Impact Zone and there are no more references to Direct Auto on the TNA website. Especially with the timing of the situation (right after New Years), it’s possible the deal ended on December 31st.
