Goldberg To Appear On WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Goldberg is headed back to WWE television.

The company announced during Monday Night RAW that the WWE Hall of Famer is slated to make an appearance on Friday Night SmackDown this week in San Jose, CA at the SAP Center on FOX.

Additional details on his appearance weren’t given. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. WWE is slated to make its return with the Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia later this month.

Goldberg worked last year’s Super ShowDown show in the country and with the Saudi Arabia government liking big stars from the past, speculation is that we could hear an announcement featuring Goldberg in action at this upcoming show.

WWE presents the Super ShowDown pay-per-view event on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.

WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.

WWE started their deal with Saudi Arabia in 2018 as the company signed a 10-year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority to bring two shows per year to the country in support of a new campaign, Saudi Vision 2030.

Roman Reigns Teases Goldberg Over His Pre-Match Ritual

Roman Reigns teased Goldberg through the power of social media.

It all started when a fan asked Reigns on Twitter about a small, black pad that’s placed on the stage during his entrance. It turns out that Reigns does his signature fist pound to the floor that sees his fist hit the pad.

Roman Reigns Teases Goldberg

Reigns responded to the fan by noting that he does it so he doesn’t break his hand.

“Nothing to explain, Nick. It’s a little piece of pad,” Reigns wrote. “So I don’t break my hand on steel grate. I gotta perform like 48 weeks a year man. So that would be stupid. It would be like [thinking emoji] head butting a door before my match level of stupid. Anyway, have a good day, Nick.”

Regarding Reigns’ “head butting a door” reference, this was a nod to Goldberg’s pre-match ritual before his matches.

It turns out that this became a bit of an issue during Goldberg’s 2016-2017 run in WWE. He has since revealed in interviews that he would knock himself silly on the door before going out to a cut a promo where he would forget his lines in the process.

Goldberg spoke about what happened that night during an interview in 2017 on the podcast hosted by Edge and Christian:

“How about when I knocked myself out on the door? Did you hear that one? You didn’t hear that one? I did that, I don’t know, a month ago. My way of getting ready, you know me, man. They knock on my door, I pour water on my head, so I don’t catch on fire from the sparks, and I headbutt the door. I’m a neanderthal. That’s what I do, right? I’m walking to the ring, and I go through Gorilla, and then, I get in the ring, man, and I literally forgot every single thing that I was supposed to say.”

Reigns and Goldberg have never had a one-on-one bout against each other. The closest that fans came to see this was when they competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in 2017 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Matt Riddle Tells Goldberg He Owes The Undertaker An Apology For Super ShowDown Match

Matt Riddle went after Goldberg once again on social media.

There is some history between Riddle and Goldberg as Riddle has been outspoken about the WWE Hall of Famer.

WWE released a preview clip for the episode of Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin that will air this Sunday and feature Goldberg, who will talk about a wide range of topics.

The clip features a quick round of word association that saw Goldberg stating that owes Taker a receipt. Riddle saw the clip and responded on Twitter:

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

Riddle and Goldberg’s comments about The Undertaker involves the contest that saw Goldberg share the squared circle with Taker.

The match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event back in June had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.

During the match, Goldberg ended up being busted open and suffering a concussion. Taker dropped Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botched the jackhammer.

Riddle has also voiced his take about Goldberg and how he doesn’t like Goldberg’s style of wrestling.

The synopsis reads like, “WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg joins “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to talk about his legendary career. Discover never-revealed, behind-the-scenes secrets from Goldberg’s WCW streak, his initial run in WWE and his triumphant return in 2016.”

The first episode featured a 90-minute interview with The Undertaker.

Goldberg: WWE SummerSlam Was “By No Means My Farewell Performance”

Goldberg Appearing On ‘Steve Austin: The Broken Skull Sessions’

The guest for the second episode of WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s WWE Network show, “Steve Austin: The Broken Skull Sessions,” as been announced.

On Monday, WWE confirmed via a post on Twitter that Austin’s first guest will be none other than Goldberg. The episode premieres on WWE’s streaming service immediately following TLC on December 15th.

WWE Reportedly Wants Steve Austin To Interview CM Punk

The first episode featured a 90-minute interview with The Undertaker that was largely praised by fans. WWE also aired this episode after a main roster pay-per-view event, which was Survivor Series last month.

Austin has stated in previous interviews that he has already filmed a few episodes of the show.

The legendary pro wrestler made short work of Dolph Ziggler in a singles match at SummerSlam. This marked his latest match under the WWE banner.

Goldberg worked the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia back in June against The Undertaker. At the time, it was reported that Goldberg had agreed to do more matches.

WWE presents the TLC pay-per-view event in Minneapolis at the Target Center. As of this writing, WWE hasn’t announced any matches for this show.

Goldberg: WWE SummerSlam Was “By No Means My Farewell Performance”

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg spoke with Justin Barrasso of  Sports Illustrated to talk about a wide range of topics. During the interview, he talked about his latest match under the WWE banner and what his future holds with the company.

The legendary pro wrestler made short work of Dolph Ziggler in a singles match at SummerSlam.

Goldberg stated that he appreciated what Ziggler did for him in that match and for being professional about it.

“I’m never happy with any of my performances, and I’d lost my mojo, I felt like,” said Goldberg. “But the reality is, the older you get, the more you’re going to lose your mojo because you can’t do it like you used to.”

Goldberg’s In-Ring Future

When it comes to his future in the business, Goldberg stated that he doesn’t see the match as his last performance and that there’s a good chance that he will wrestle again.

“It’s by no means my farewell performance, nor was it my best performance, but you have to be realistic and take all things into consideration,” said Goldberg. “It’s a very good possibility I’ll be back, but you don’t know it until it’s done.”

Goldberg did bring up how being able to stay in such great shape to portray his character gets lost in the shuffle when fans talk about wanting to see him wrestle again. He stated that he doesn’t know of a power wrestler that’s been able to come back after a 12-year hiatus and still be that guy.

This is why he has found that it’s been a tough time to keep on weight to look like he did back in his prime. That’s why he thinks he needs to reinvent himself by losing 20 pounds.

Goldberg worked the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia back in June against The Undertaker. At the time, it was reported that Goldberg had agreed to do more matches.

Goldberg Reflects On Wrestling The Undertaker At Super ShowDown

In an interview with Metro.co.uk, former WWE Universal Champion Goldberg opened up about his matchup against The Undertaker from WWE Super ShowDown. The two competed back in June in a match that received heavy criticism from fans and professionals alike.

Speaking candidly, Goldberg confessed that the match took a toll on him, but made sure to contextualize the situation:

“People were very critical of me, and I’ll be honest, I never really respond to it – I do care what people think,” Goldberg said. “But when I know the whole deal and everything, it’s like, come on guys. Give me a break – I knocked myself out, dude. Now let me see you walk down the street – let alone pick up a 320lbs dude – when you’re knocked out.”

He then explained how his subsequent match with Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam helped to “reaffirm” his confidence.

“I think for me, what the Ziggler match did, was reaffirm my own self-confidence, not for anyone else. But I just needed to go out there and go through the motions, and know, man, just ’cause you stumble once, [it] doesn’t define you.”

He continued,” Unfortunately, I was defining myself by whether it be a move or a night or a match. The fact of the matter is, I’m extremely hyper-critical of myself and that’s what’s made me the person that I am. It’s a blessing and it’s a curse. I’m never happy, but I’m always striving to be better than anybody else… [The Ziggler match] helped me out a lot, it really did.”

Goldberg and NXT Superstar Matt Riddle have continued their back-and-forth war of words. Despite their interactions, however, Goldberg still claims not to know who Riddle is.

Shawn Michaels On If He Was Considered To Face Dolph Ziggler At SummerSlam

During a recent episode of the State of Combat Podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels addressed his involvement with Dolph Ziggler’s recent feud with Goldberg. Ziggler and Goldberg would face each other one-on-one last month at WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

The build-up to this match involved a tease that Michaels might feud with Ziggler. This led the WWE Universe to speculate that HBK could be coming back for one more match. When discussing whether there was ever a possibility he would be getting back in the ring, Michaels confessed there was “absolutely no thought of me and Dolph.”

“I never know when the phone call is going to come and I’m going to jump on a plane,” Shawn explained. “I was just sort of doing what I was asked to do. If nothing else, with all these years later, after 30 years, I’m a pretty good employee. I just do what I am told, so to speak. It was fun to do but there was absolutely no thought of me and Dolph or anything like that. It was always going to be Bill Goldberg, but perhaps they needed somebody to light the fuse for Dolph Ziggler in that respect and I was the guy to do it as best as I could.”

Ziggler went on to face off, and be decimated by, Goldberg in 1 minute and 50 seconds.

Goldberg’s Confrontation With Dolph Ziggler Leading To WWE TV Appearance?

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg might be returning to WWE TV soon.

As noted, Goldberg had an altercation with Dolph Ziggler over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, which he shared a video of it on social media.

On Monday, WInsider reports that people within WWE are expecting the Vegas altercation to lead to a SmackDown on FOX appearance by Goldberg. Let the speculation begin regarding what that means.

Goldberg & Dolph Ziggler Scuffle At Las Vegas Restaurant, Matt Riddle Comments

The legendary pro wrestler made short work of Ziggler in a singles match at SummerSlam.

It should be noted that WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia is coming up. Goldberg worked the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia back in June. At the time, it was reported that Goldberg had agreed to do more matches.

Whether this angle between Ziggler and Goldberg leads to a match remains to be seen but with WWE returning to Saudi Arabia on October 31st, this could be where Goldberg’s next match takes place.

The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network, which will be a 20th Anniversary special, takes place on October 4th from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.

WWE has already confirmed Goldberg to make an appearance on this show.

Stevie Richards Comments On His Favorite Run In Wrestling, Talks About The Undertaker Vs Goldberg

The Undertaker’s matchup against Goldberg took place back in June at WWE’s Super Showdown. That hasn’t stopped others in the industry from sharing their thoughts on the clash.

In an interview with Sportskeeda, former WWE Superstar Stevie Richards spoke about a range of topics including his favorite runs, on whether the Right to Censor would still work, and the infamous match between ‘Taker and Goldberg.

According to him, many people assume his favorite run would be as a part of the Right to Censor or the bWo. For him though, it’s his portrayal of Stevie Night Heat as “that’s really where I was really truly allowed to do what I could do without being hindered, handcuffed.

When it comes to the Right to Censor, Richards believes the concept for the stable could still work in WWE today.

“They could always bring something like that back, you could rename it to match the labels of the people who try to control and censor people,” he said. “The right would say the left is doing it, the left would say the right is doing it. Whatever your local government is, whatever two sides of what I call the same party anyway.”

“It’s A Double-Edge Sword”

When asked about the Goldberg vs Undertaker match, Richards offered how it’s “popular” to bury their bout before claiming that the match was “designed to fail” because of it was planned to go too long.

“Both guys were in incredible physical condition. Were they in wrestling shape, though? No, it’s not possible because it’s a double-edged sword. […] It’s something you have to temper, so just to let people know, when you want to get on guys for being in their 50s and they get put out there for a 15-minute match, and they’ve never worked together – that’s tough.”

Goldberg Says He Doesn’t Know Who Matt Riddle Is

Bill Goldberg was recently asked about Matt Riddle during an interview with Helen Lee from NBC Sports. Goldberg joked during the interview that he doesn’t know who Riddle is.

“Matt who? I don’t even know who that is,” Goldberg answered when asked about Riddle. “I don’t answer questions about people who haven’t made it yet.”

Lee then remarked that Riddle has a long way to go.

“Yes, that’s an understatement,” Goldberg responded.

Goldberg on Cain Velasquez

Goldberg also commented on Cain Velasquez and his transition from MMA to pro-wrestling.

“Cain’s doing great,” Goldberg said. “I saw a little bit of the coverage of his match and you know, put it this way, anyone in professional sports who was in that sport for a lifelong dream like myself, played football, it’s all I ever wanted to do, it’s a great alternative. This wrestling business offers a lot, it really does. For guys who are high-level professional athletes to try and make the transition, especially with what Cain knows and what he’s done in the past, it’s a perfect easy transition. I’m not going to say easy but it’s easier than for someone whose never done anything like that before.”

Goldberg continued to say he’d like to wrestle Cain as well.

“I’d still smash him in the ring,” Goldberg stated.

Goldberg Wants To Wrestle Cain Velasquez

Goldberg has announced his interest in wrestling former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez during an interview with Helen Yee of Eyes On The Game

“Cain’s doing great,” Goldberg said. “I saw a little bit of the coverage of his match, and, you know, put it this way…anyone in professional sports who was in that sport for a lifelong dream, like myself playing football, that’s all I ever wanted to do. It’s a great alternative, this wrestling business offers a lot, it really does.”

He added that for high-level professional athletes like Velasquez, the career change into pro wrestling is a “perfect, easy transition” as opposed to those who don’t have an athletic background.

“I’d still smash him in the ring. I’d wrestle Cain in the ring in two seconds,” he admitted. “I’d wrestle anybody, you know who I am, that’s what I do. But I’m just saying, he’s got a lot of potential.”

Cain Velasquez made his pro debut recently during AAA’s Triplemania XXVII event. He participated in a 6 man trios match, teaming with Pyscho Clown and AEW’s Cody Rhodes. They took on the team of Texano Jr., Taurus, and Killer Kross. He has previously trained at the WWE Performance Center, fuelling speculation at the time that he was WWE bound. Velasquez recently confirmed he has been in talks WWE and AEW.

Matt Riddle Discusses If He’s Any Closer To Wrestling Brock Lesnar, Opens Up About Talking With Goldberg

Matt Riddle hasn’t made it a secret that he would love to face Brock Lesnar. He also got into a back-and-forth with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg that saw the two speak backstage about their issues.

In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dropkick DiSKussions, Riddle opened up about the likelihood of achieving his dream match against Lesnar. He also shared how he wasn’t particularly interested in a match with Goldberg.

“Well, the WWE… NXT has made mention of me wrestling Brock in promos and other things like that, but I’ve been calling out Brock since I started wrestling. It’s such a huge goal. If I get close to that, I’ll probably be really successful. If I do it, probably be a legend. Now I’m as close I’ve ever been, but I’m still pretty far.”

Turning his attention to Goldberg, who he publicly mocked during his matchup against The Undertaker at WWE’s Super ShowDown in June, Riddle admitted he never even wanted a match with the former WCW World Champion.

“With Goldberg, I was never even really wanting a match. I mean, I would take it for sure. He’s Bill Goldberg, you know? The guy is money. At the same time, I never wanted a match. It was more so my opinion on his work rate and his wrestling – not his ability to generate money or put butts in seats. It was his salary, his work rate.”

He continued, “I talked to Goldberg, we talked about it, he thought I was being disrespectful. I was like, ‘Okay, man, that’s my opinion. I’m just not a huge fan of your work. I’m just not. It’s not great pro wrestling.’ It’s like, ‘You’ve got a great jackhammer, great spear but the wrestling… Uhh.’ I’m not lying. I feel like if I’m not lying, I’m not being disrespectful. Especially as that’s how you make your money.”

With NXT moving to USA Network and extending to two-hours, the WWE Universe may soon be able to see more of ‘The Original Bro’ on the black-and-gold brand.

Triple H Addresses Negative Fans, The Undertaker vs. Goldberg

Triple H took part in an interview with Alex McCarthy of talksport.com where he talked about the infamous Undertaker vs. Goldberg match that led to a discussion about negative fans on social media about the WWE product.

“The Game” started out by noting that people can say what they want to say about Saudi Arabia or the match but he takes his hat off to them as it was a bad situation.

He brought up wrestling in the bad conditions as it was about 105 degrees and 100 percent humidity at ringside. He added that there were moments in his match that he wanted to change gears but couldn’t.

“It’s humanly impossible in this moment. It was like wrestling in a sauna, it really was. And there was those moments like when you step out of a sauna and you’re like ‘jeez, I’m lightheaded I might pass out’ – it was so ridiculously hot. And you put pressure on yourself and everything on top of that, so it’s a lot.”

Triple H Addresses Vince McMahon’s NXT Involvement, Big Cass & Enzo Amore Report

He added that no one cuts anyone slack on anything in wrestling. This brought up the negativity on social media.

He talked about how he has to remind himself with social media that it’s people reacting with passion and the negativity is because they’re passionate. He thinks fans love it so much and that they will say the worst thing in the world on Twitter.

“But yet if they saw Goldberg or ‘Taker they would be like in awe and speechless. It’s just the craziest thing.”

He thinks it’s weird that people will say negative things online yet would be amazed to see them in real life and not say hateful things.

Chris Jericho Praises Goldberg Over SummerSlam Performance

Although Chris Jericho is no longer under contract with WWE, that doesn’t mean he has stopped watching their product.

Jericho saw the performance that WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg put on during his match against Dolph Ziggler at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena. It was a short match that saw Goldberg go over with a spear and jackhammer.

Jericho took to his official Twitter account to praise Goldberg and the series of spears that he gave to Ziggler after the match. He wrote the following:

“Say what you want, but @Goldberg still has the BEST spear of all time. Nobody makes it look that devastating…NOBODY!”

Goldberg Victorious In Quick Match At WWE SummerSlam

Another fan tweeted to Jericho and questioned why he’s still watching WWE. This is where he questioned why he wouldn’t be still watching. You can see his response here:

Jericho, who found a ton of success in WWE, is no doubt a future WWE Hall of Famer despite being under contract with All Elite Wrestling.

Jericho is slated to take on Hangman Page to crown the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion at AEW’s next show, All Out, on Saturday, August 31st at the Sears Centre in Chicago, IL.

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle has been vocal about WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg in the past. It turns out that they ran into each other while backstage at SummerSlam.

Riddle appeared on the SummerSlam Watch Along Livestream where he told the story about talking with Goldberg. It all started when he had been looking for the locker rooms of Goldberg and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

All of a sudden, someone ran into him and he looks up and it’s Goldberg, who told him that they had to do some talking. Riddle agreed and told him that they can talk anytime. He kept saying bro and Goldberg told him that he’s not his bro.

Goldberg told him that he would see him later and that it was a pleasure meeting him, which Riddle said it was his pleasure. Goldberg once again told him that he wasn’t his bro.

Goldberg’s goal of avenging his latest match under the WWE banner and erase the feeling from that contest was achieved.

The legendary pro wrestler made short work of Dolph Ziggler in a singles match at SummerSlam on Sunday night. 1:46 was the time. WWE had previously announced Ziggler vs. The Miz for this show but that wasn’t the plan.

Instead, WWE booked this match after doing an angle on RAW where there was a contract signing with Ziggler, Shawn Michaels, and The Miz. Goldberg walked out and signed the contract after Ziggler did. Goldberg told him that he was next.

The match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event had received a ton of criticism from fans. Taker went over in this contest that went down on June 7, 2019 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances. Goldberg ended up being busted open and suffering a concussion.

Also, Taker dropped Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botched the jackhammer.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when Goldberg will be working his next match. It’s possible that he returns when WWE presents Crown Jewel 2019 on Thursday, October 31st.

Dolph Ziggler Lashes Out At Goldberg Fans, Sasha Banks’ New Look

Dolph Ziggler Lashes Out At Goldberg Fans

Dolph Ziggler is known to be a heel on and off WWE television, which is exactly what he did to a fan who told him that he was going to be speared into next year by WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg.

The two stars are just 24 hours away from stepping into the squared circle at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event. Ziggler wrote the following on his official Twitter account:

“All you fickle, pathetic marks that complain online for a living, have a problem with part timers taking away from full time wrestlers, suddenly decide that redemption is the best way to send off a guy you have ripped on for 20 years. you are the problem!”

Sasha Banks’ New Look

Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks shared a new post on Instagram that showed off the change to her hairstyle.

Banks, who is most known for sporting purple hair, is now blonde, as seen in these photos:

Banks has not been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 where after the show, it was reported that she tried to quit the company. There’s still no word yet on when she’ll make a return to in-ring action.

The Miz Talks Being Replaced By Goldberg In SummerSlam Match

The Miz is making the media rounds and did so when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night to promote Miz and Mrs. and SummerSlam.

During the interview, his scheduled but nixed match at the next pay-per-view event under the WWE banner was brought up. While WWE had originally announced Miz would be facing Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam, plans were altered.

This came after Dave Meltzer reported the match was a “red herring” and changes were made. Now, it will be Goldberg vs. Ziggler.

Miz brought up the contract signing on Monday’s episode of RAW and how he tricked Ziggler, who had been talking a lot of smack to Goldberg.

“I thought I’d give the kid a chance. I figured I’ll have so many opportunities at SummerSlam and Goldberg, this might be his last.”

Miz noted that he’ll be at SummerSlam where he promised that he will make an impact. He doesn’t care if its a match, promo or just a small thing. He added, “I guarantee I will be the talk of SummerSlam.”

As of this writing, Miz does not have a match at SummerSlam. It’s possible that Miz is featured somehow in this contest due to the storyline ongoing.

Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler Officially Announced For WWE SummerSlam

WWE has officially confirmed that Goldberg will make his return to in-ring action when he takes on Dolph Ziggler at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

This comes after it was reported last week that the former WWE Universal Champion would be making his return. WWE had previously announced Ziggler vs. The Miz for SummerSlam but that wasn’t the plan.

During Monday’s episode of RAW, WWE held a contract signing with Dolph Ziggler, Shawn Michaels, and The Miz. This was supposed to be for Ziggler vs. The Miz at this show.

The way that WWE set it up was by having Miz tell Ziggler that he can’t wait to get his hands on him next Monday and that Ziggler should’ve read the fine print.

Goldberg walked out and signed the contract after Ziggler did. Goldberg told him that he was next and then Michaels hit Ziggler with a superkick to close the show.

Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler Planned For SummerSlam (Report)

Despite Dolph Ziggler vs the Miz having been announced recently for SummerSlam, the plan appears to be for Ziggler to actually wrestle Bill Goldberg on the show.

According to a report on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Miz vs Dolph Ziggler announcement was a red herring and Goldberg will be coming in for the show.

“Even though they announced Miz – and I don’t know how they are going to get to it – it is, in fact, Bill Goldberg,” Dave Meltzer said on the show. Meltzer would go on to state that Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan, which had also been reported, is also planned for the show.

Booker T On Why Matt Riddle Should Not Criticise Goldberg

Former World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T have developed a beef with NXT talent Matt Riddle in recent weeks after Booker questioned Riddle for his remarks over some wrestling legends. He said that Matt himself needs a lot of work and Riddle also responded to the former WCW Champion.

Booker T then recently spoke to Kevin Kellam of WrestleZone.com and expanded further on his issues with NXT Superstar Matt Riddle criticizing Goldberg for his match against The Undertaker at Super ShowDown. He stated that Riddle needs a better understanding of the business and a change in approach.

“[Goldberg] wasn’t a guy that grew up watching it on a weekly basis, but he came into it with an opportunity and he took it. He turned out to be an awesome, awesome draw and the fans love Goldberg. Goldberg drew so much money in this business—I can only imagine how much money [it actually was] for the business—as well as the fans that loved Goldberg coming up, that’s worth a whole lot,” said the Hall of Famer.

Continuing on the topic, he stated that Wrestling is a brotherhood and Booker further defended Goldberg saying that he had never been to a wrestling school like himself. The 5-time WCW Champion stated that Matt Riddle needs to understand the foundation of the wrestling business and understand the ‘business’ aspect of it, as opposed to the ‘wrestling’ side.

Apart from this, Booker T also talked about Superstars such as Honky Tonk Man and The Rock. He discussed the significance of the ‘Drawing Power’ of these Superstars and why they are important. Check out the full interview here.

Goldberg Wants To Erase Feeling From Match With The Undertaker

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg seemingly commented on his WWE status in a response to a fan on his official Twitter account.

It all started when the fan asked if he’s done with wrestling after his latest match or if he feels like he needs to achieve anything else before retiring for good. He responded with the following:

The match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.

Goldberg ended up being busted open and suffering a concussion during the match. Also, Taker dropped Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botched the jackhammer.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what his future holds with WWE and if he’ll be working more matches going forward. Before the match took place, it was reported that Goldberg had signed a new deal with the company that could lead to him working more matches.

WWE is slated to make their return to Saudi Arabia in November so it’s possible that Goldberg makes his return to action at that show.

Mark Henry Believes The Undertaker And Goldberg Deserve Fans’ Respect

The matchup between The Undertaker and Goldberg from last Friday’s Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia continues to elicit debate amongst fans and industry professionals.

Many have expressed concern over the Superstars ability to perform in-ring, worried about their health and risk of injury since the fallout of their bout. Others decided to take the opportunity to mock the wrestling legends.

WWE Hall Of Famer, Mark Henry, has taken issue with those using their “Twitter fingers” in an attempt to put down ‘Taker and Goldberg.

“You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourself”

Speaking on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Henry stated that both wrestlers “deserve better” than to be taunted via social media and that they deserve the fan’s respect.

“Goldberg deserves the respect that he’s earned. The guy went in and busted his face open. He finished that match.” he said. “How about saying ‘thank you for not tapping out?’”

He continued, “He could have easily said ‘Hey man, I can’t see, I rung my bell.’ And they went into a series of Choke Slams and one, two, three, and it’s over. Could have done that. Didn’t do it. They went through it for you.”

“The twitter fingers, the people that probably can’t run a mile in under a day. The people that can’t lift their own body weight, do one pull up. People that don’t have any belief in nothing beyond their own nose,” he said. “Those are the people that came on social media and berated the Undertaker and Goldberg, when it was a travesty to the wrestling business because they deserved better than that. They deserved better than that. And anybody that sent a tweet like that, you should be ashamed of yourself.”

Henry then lambasted those who have chosen to make fun of the two Superstars. He stated that people should “look at you differently” because of their decision to post blatant negativity on social media.

Batista Reveals He Tried To Talk Undertaker Out Of Goldberg Match

Before the now infamous main event took place at Super ShowDown, Batista tried to jokingly talk Undertaker out of his match against Goldberg.

In an interview with Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Batista discussed his match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, and while on the topic, he also talked about the recent match between the two legends that took place in Saudi Arabia.

Batista said that he hasn’t watched the entire match but only seen a few clips and didn’t want to comment on it. But The Animal did reveal that he called Undertaker on the day of the show and asked the Deadman if there is any way to talk him out of the match.

Batista reveals that as soon as Taker heard this, he started laughing and said that the offer sounded good to him initially but now he has to do it since he is obligated.

Undertaker vs. Goldberg

The entire internet was in a debate on whether the Undertaker and Goldberg should retire after their performance at Super ShowDown.

At the match, Goldberg rammed into the second turnbuckle during a spear spot and took a nasty shot to the head. Goldberg later revealed that he had actually knocked himself out when he hit the ring post, and continued because he thought he could finish the match.

“Knocked myself out and thought I could finish…. love my fans…..but let u down. Everyone else that found “pleasure” ….. hope ur happy”
