John Cena Talks Retirement, Goldberg vs The Undertaker

John Cena dropped a hint about his retirement while talking about Super ShowDown’s disastrous Goldberg vs The Undertaker match.

TMZ Sports caught up with Cena in New York where they asked him about his part in the upcoming Fast & Furious film, as well as his thoughts on the Goldberg vs The Undertaker match and whether the two legends should just retire and hang up their boots.

Cena made it clear that he thinks it’s up to the individual to retire whenever they want and they will when they are ready to and it is not his place to advise them. However he also added that he has been having the same conversation with himself lately.

“I think an individual’s career is up to the individual. I think that’s pretty much the way I can describe that. I’ve been having the same conversation with myself – I’m only 42 but it’s something that we’ve gotta address each day. And that’s individually specific. When those people are ready to stop, they’ll stop.”

Cena is still just 42 and while he says he’s thinking about retiring from wrestling – possibly to focus on his acting career more, it’s not like we’ll not see him in the ring occasionally on special events.

Cena last appeared at WrestleMania 35 where he returned with his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick and interrupted Elias’ concert. He dissed Elias with a rap and mentioned turning heel, and hit the Attitude Adjustment on him but only this time he called it by its original name, the FU.

Ric Flair On Criticism Of The Undertaker vs. Goldberg Match

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has sounded off on the match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event that has received a ton of criticism from fans.

The match was not what fans had hoped for due to Goldberg being busted open and suffering a concussion during the match. The pro wrestling legend gave his take when he spoke with Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca on Sirius XM Busted Open Radio.

Flair started out by stating that they opened up hot and loved the match until the last minute. He would then praise Taker and Goldberg for their accomplishments in the business.

Flair also ruled out the problems with the match due to the age of the stars. It’s the fact that it’s hard to work two or three times a year with long stretches of downtime. He would note that training for a match in the gym is not the answer to getting in the ring and going full speed. He questions how Triple H is able to do it.

“I don’t like it, but that doesn’t mean that they cannot have an opinion,” said Flair. “I don’t have an agenda here. I cannot let a minute or two of fatigue define anybody. It’s funny, had they gone on one more minute perfect and hit it, everyone would have been like ‘Oh my god that was perfect.’”

Flair would bring up how he thought the match was planned just like Goldberg beating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in quick fashion when Goldberg hit his signature moves in the opening minutes and thinks fans would’ve praised it if it ended then. But once they moved forward with the match then fans criticized it.

Footage Of Goldberg Unable To Stand After Undertaker Match (Video)

Footage from a fan in attendance at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium has uploaded a video that sees Goldberg unable to stand after his most recent match under the WWE banner.

Goldberg suffered a loss to The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which marked the first-ever encounter between the two stars.

There were several scary moments that include Goldberg getting busted open after missing a spear, Taker dropping Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botching the jackhammer. Goldberg later admitted that he knocked himself out during the match in a post on social media.

Here is the video (h/t to u/devw94 on Reddit) of Goldberg collapsing at ringside:

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what his future holds with WWE and if he’ll be working more matches going forward.

After twelve years away from the company, he returned to WWE in 2016 and headlined Survivor Series against Brock Lesnar, and Fastlane against Kevin Owens where he won the WWE Universal Championship. He lost the title to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

Matt Riddle Explains Comments Regarding Goldberg

Matt Riddle offered up an explanation today for why he has been taking shots at Goldberg on social media as of late. Riddle was publicly critical of Goldberg’s performance at Super ShowDown. While not mentioning anyone by name, Riddle posted the following earlier today:

Shortly after, Riddle posted this follow-up message as well:

Matt Riddle vs Bill Goldberg

Riddle made several comments regarding Goldberg’s performance from Jeddah yesterday:

Previously, Riddle noted that Goldberg had blocked him on social media:

Matt Riddle vs Brock Lesnar

Riddle has also been mentioning wanting to retire Brock Lesnar on his Twitter. Most recently, Riddle posted the following on Tuesday June 4th:

He has stated on several occasions that it is a goal of his to retire Brock Lesnar.

Riddle most recently defeated Roderick Strong of the Undisputed Era at NXT TakeOver XXV. He had previously dropped a North American title shot against the Velveteen Dream at Takeover: New York. His loss to Dream is the only single’s loss he’s had on NXT programming since debuting. Riddle also defeated the current NXT champion Adam Cole on an episode of NXT which aired on May 8th, 2019.

Matt Riddle Mocks Goldberg’s Performance Against The Undertaker

NXT Superstar, Matt Riddle, has potentially escalated the issues between himself and Hall Of Famer, Bill Goldberg.

Riddle took to Twitter to make fun of Goldberg’s matchup against The Undertaker from last night’s Super ShowDown event, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

He recorded himself sarcastically complimenting Goldberg’s attempt at a kneebar as the two competed, stating “What kneebar, bro. What a kneebar. Make me mad. You’re making me mad. Keep it up.”

The tweet was accompanied by the caption “Keep it up bro #WWESSD”.

Bro Blocked

Goldberg recently blocked Matt Riddle on Twitter—a fact that didn’t go unnoticed by the King Of Bros as he shared it on Instagram with the caption “I can’t wait to watch your match this Friday so I can see how good you are at wrestling”.

https://www.instagram.com/p/ByVO2fmnRk3/?utm_source=ig_embed

The two have had issues before, with Riddle expressing a negative opinion on Goldberg back in 2017.

During an interview with The Sporting News, Riddle criticized Goldberg’s in-ring work and ability.

“Bill Goldberg can’t wrestle. That’s it. He knows it. […] His work in the ring – people always go it’s Goldberg, he can have a one minute match or whatever. Yeah, it’s one minute because he can’t work more than one minute. If he works more than one minute, it could Botchamania, you know? Even with one minute, it’s Botchamania almost.”

There is concern that Goldberg suffered a concussion during his bout with The Undertaker. Not only did he clash his skull against the ring post, knocking himself out and busting him open in the process, he also suffered a nasty Tombstone Piledriver. The match had an abrupt ending via a Choke Slam, giving Undertaker the victory.

Goldberg Addresses His Match Against The Undertaker, Says He Knocked Himself Out

If you watched last night’s WWE Super ShowDown event, then you’ll know the main event of the show saw Goldberg take on The Undertaker in what was advertised as a matchup years in the making.

Goldberg ended up taking a nasty shot to the head after ramming himself into the second turnbuckle during a spear spot.

Taking to Twitter, the former WCW and WWE Universal champion explained what happened. He wrote that he knocked himself out when he clashed with the metal ring post.

“Knocked myself out and thought I could finish…. love my fans…..but let u down. Everyone else that found “pleasure” ….. hope ur happy”

https://twitter.com/Goldberg/status/1137146190456401920

Concussion Concerns

As soon as the match concluded, Goldberg was escorted to the back of the stadium in order to be checked out by WWE trainers. It is believed that he suffered a concussion.

This didn’t stop the Hall Of Famer from attempting to finish the match.

Although clearly rocked, groggy, and bleeding, Goldberg would try to see his bout with The Undertaker through to the end.

He attempted a dangerous Jackhammer in the process before being hit with a Tombstone Piledriver that saw him take further direct impact to his head.

The match would end abruptly after a Choke Slam to Goldberg. ‘Taker was visibly frustrated in the ring after the match as Super ShowDown came to an end.

The Undertaker Defeats Goldberg In First-Ever Match

The Undertaker went over on Goldberg in the first-ever match between the two legendary pro wrestlers.

“The Deadman” beat the WWE Hall of Famer in one of the top matches to take place at the WWE Super Showdown pay-per-view event on Friday. This was a dream match that WWE fans thought that they would never see.

As noted, Goldberg has signed a new contract with the company. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what his future holds with WWE and if he’ll be working more matches going forward.

For over two decades, this has been a contest that many fans wanted to see but couldn’t due to the fact that Taker was in WWE and Goldberg in WCW.

Even when Goldberg did a one-year stint in WWE from 2003-2004, the match never took place as Taker was on SmackDown and Goldberg on RAW.

They did share the ring and even got physical once. That came at the 2017 Royal Rumble PPV during the Royal Rumble Match.

The two came face to face before brawling with other stars in the match. This would lead to Goldberg hitting a spear on Taker before Taker then eliminated him.

What are your thoughts on Taker beating Goldberg? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Matt Riddle Reacts To Goldberg Blocking Him On Twitter

It appears that Goldberg is not a fan of WWE NXT star Matt Riddle as he blocked him on Twitter. Riddle took to his official Instagram account to not only let fans know about it but also give his thoughts.

Riddle’s post comes just a few days before Goldberg makes his in-ring return to take The Undertaker in a singles match at Friday’s WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

https://www.instagram.com/p/ByVO2fmnRk3/

Once fans saw this post, they took to the internet where they looked up some of the harsh comments that Riddle made in 2017 while talking with Sporting News. This was a time where Riddle wasn’t under contract with WWE.

During this interview, Riddle, who is one of WWE’s top prospect and seems destined to be called up to the main roster, was critical of Goldberg for a wide range of reasons.

That includes Goldberg having matches that only lasted for a few minutes because if they last longer then they are bad as well as beating Hulk Hogan in minutes, his push in WCW, and using MMA techniques into his matches.

Goldberg & The Undertaker Have Confrontation On SmackDown

Goldberg made an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Laredo, TX at the Sames Auto Arena.

Goldberg cut a promo in the ring about his next match under the WWE banner inside of the squared circle. This led to the lights going out and back on with the Undertaker appearing in the ring that led to them having a stare down.

The former Universal Champion will take on The Undertaker for the first-time ever in one of the top matches advertised for the Super ShowDown event, which marks the third show in WWE’s 10-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority.

After twelve years away from the company, he returned to WWE in 2016 and headlined Survivor Series against Brock Lesnar, and Fastlane against Kevin Owens where he won the WWE Universal Championship. He lost the title to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

Goldberg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year during WrestleMania 34 weekend and was last seen on WWE television the night after Mania on RAW.

The WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event takes place on Friday, June 7th, 2019 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

Mark Henry Talks Why The Undertaker vs. Goldberg Doesn’t Need Build Up

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry explained why he doesn’t think the upcoming match between the Undertaker and Goldberg at this weekend’s WWE Super ShowDown doesn’t need a build up.

WWE has done exactly that as the two legendary stars have only appeared on television this week to promote the first-ever match. Henry gave his take on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio and why there simply was no need for a story behind the match.

Henry started out by stating that it’s not about all the wins and losses that Goldberg and Undertaker have gained throughout the years. Instead, they are two of the greatest wrestling icons in the history of the business and this is simply a modern-day fantasy warfare.

Henry would elaborate that Taker bringing up Goldberg’s family and not wanting to wrestle that version of the former Universal Champion gives WWE a reason for no build up. He thinks then you could have Goldberg bringing the undefeated version of himself up as a response.

“If we get that guy, you don’t need buildup, you don’t need a storyline, you just need to turn the music on and let these two monsters walk to the ring, and it’ll be like Godzilla and Mothra.”

Goldberg Sends Message To The Undertaker, WWE Star Expecting Child

Goldberg Sends Message To The Undertaker

Former WWE Universal Champion Goldberg is hyped and ready to go to take part in his next match under the WWE banner. He’ll face The Undertaker in one of the top matches advertised for the Super ShowDown pay-per-view.

Goldberg took to his official Instagram account where he wrote the following about message to “The Deadman:”

https://www.instagram.com/p/ByB0Ex6JuXS/

WWE presents the Super ShowDown pay-per-view event on Friday, June 7th, 2019 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium that will air on the WWE Network at 2PM ET/11 AM PT.

As noted, Goldberg is slated to appear on next Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Laredo, TX at the Sames Auto Arena to promote this upcoming match. This will serve as the go-home show of the blue branded show for Super ShowDown.

WWE Star Expecting Child

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese shared some exciting news on social media. He took to his official Instagram account where he noted that he and his wife Liz are expecting their first baby boy.

They currently have a daughter together. Congratulations to the married couple. Nese shared the following to announce the pregnancy:

Goldberg Set For SmackDown Appearance Next Week

WWE recently announced that the Undertaker will be returning to WWE Programming this week for an appearance on Raw and now they have confirmed the return of Goldberg too.

The company recently sent out a tweet and confirmed that for the first time ever the former Universal Champion will be making an appearance on SmackDown Live this Tuesday:

The officials announced a first time ever clash between the Dead Man and the former WCW Star a few weeks back and they have been promoting this bout on their programming ever since.

However, the company decided to do an old school build up for this match and so far we haven’t seen any interaction between these two stars.

And it appears that the Officials are continuing this strategy. While they have finally decided to bring these stars out, they are making sure the two are not under the same roof on the same night.

With Undertaker being on Raw and Goldberg being on SmackDown Live, the company will effectively keep them separate from each other and it seems that we’ll only see an interaction between the two this Friday Night during the Super Showdown event.

WWE Super Showdown will take place on Friday June 7th, from the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Goldberg In Great Shape For WWE Super ShowDown Match (Photo)

Goldberg is in the middle of training for his return to the ring. The former WWE Universal Champion has been preparing with Muay Thai master Ruben Rowell Jr. at the Extreme Power Gym in Oceanside, California.

Goldberg has signed a new contract with the company and will be making his return their next event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 7.

The WWE Hall of Famer took to his official Instagram account where he showed off his progress as he gets into shape for his next match inside of the squared circle under the WWE banner. He wrote the following:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxiNtgBpn-Q/?utm_source=ig_embed

The Super ShowDown event will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and will air live on the WWE Network. WWE has confirmed a 50-Man Battle Royal, The Undertaker vs. Goldberg and Triple H vs. Randy Orton for this show.

The former WWE Universal Champion is advertised to appear alongside WWE Superstars Roman Reigns, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Braun Strowman, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar.

Additional details on the event’s matches and regional broadcast information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Goldberg Reacts To Facing The Undertaker At WWE Super ShowDown

A dream match that WWE fans thought that they would never see is going to happen within a month.

Goldberg has signed a new contract with the company and will be making his return their next event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 7. The Super ShowDown will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and will air live on the WWE Network.

On Monday, WWE confirmed a 50-Man Battle Royal, The Undertaker vs. Goldberg and Triple H vs. Randy Orton for this show. Goldberg reacted to the news when he wrote the following:

https://twitter.com/Goldberg/status/1128008819789819910

For over two decades, this has been a contest that many fans wanted to see but couldn’t due to the fact that Taker was in WWE and Goldberg in WCW. Even when Goldberg did a one-year stint in WWE from 2003-2004, the match never took place as Taker was on SmackDown and Goldberg on RAW.

Moving along to 2016 when Goldberg made his grand WWE return, the two never had a feud. Instead, Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar in short fashion at the Survivor Series PPV event. He would later wrestle Kevin Owens and then worked his most recent match at WrestleMania 33 in 2017.

They did share the ring and even got physical once. That came at the 2017 Royal Rumble PPV during the Royal Rumble Match. The two came face to face before brawling with other stars in the match. This would lead to Goldberg hitting a spear on Taker before Taker then eliminated him.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar are also scheduled to compete at WWE Super ShowDown. Additional details on the event’s matches and regional broadcast information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Goldberg vs. Undertaker Set For WWE Super ShowDown In Saudi Arabia

On June 7th, WWE will present Super ShowDown from the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. WWE has just confirmed that the Undertaker and Goldberg will go one-on-one for the first time ever on the show.

“The Saudi General Sports Authority will host WWE Super ShowDown at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, June 7, at 9 p.m. AST, and feature the first-ever match between WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg and Undertaker,” a WWE press release for the match reads.

Goldberg Vs the Undertaker – Super ShowDown – June 7th

The event in Saudi Arabia will be the first time Goldberg and Undertaker have faced each other. They both competed in the 2017 Royal Rumble but other than that have never been in the same match.

It will be Goldberg’s first match since WrestleMania 33.

June 7th will be Undertaker’s first match since WWE Crown Jewel in November.

Other Matches Booked For Super ShowDown

WWE will also present a 50-Man battle royal on the show. Randy Orton and Triple H are also scheduled to face each other at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on June 7th.

“In addition, the event will include Triple H vs. Randy Orton, as they create another chapter of their storied rivalry, and a 50-Man Battle Royal — the largest in WWE history,” WWE’s press release continues.

Goldberg Starts Training For Ring Return, NXT Star Serves As Producer

Bill Goldberg Starts Training For Ring Return

Goldberg has begun training for his return to the ring. He’s preparing with Muay Thai master Ruben Rowell Jr. at the Extreme Power Gym in Oceanside, California. He wrote the following on Instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxP9_bCJNhE/?utm_source=ig_embed

WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia takes place on Friday, June 7. The show will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and will air live on the WWE Network.

The former WWE Universal Champion is advertised to appear alongside WWE Superstars Roman Reigns, Undertaker, Kofi Kingston, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Goldberg, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar, and stream live on WWE Network.

NXT Star Serves As Producer

WWE NXT Champion Johnny Gargano mentioned in a recent post on his official Twitter account that he is getting some experience working as a Producer with the WWE developmental brand.

In the post, he noted that he will be wearing a different hat for the brand this weekend. He also took a friendly jab at “dad” Triple H:

It appears that this photo was taken from Thursday’s NXT live event in Largo, FL at the Minnreg Hall and here is the results:

Kushida defeated Adrian Jaoude

Marina Shafir with Jessamyn Duke defeated Xia Li

Babatunde Aiyegbusi defeated Sam Shaw

The Street Profits defeated Brendan Vink and Jermaine Haley with Court Moore

Roderick Strong defeated Shane Strickland

Albert Hardie Jr. defeated Mansoor Al-Shehail

Kacy Catanzaro defeated Vanessa Borne with Aliyah

NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream retained over Adam Cole

Goldberg’s WWE Return Opponent Teased

The next opponent for Goldberg has been teased by both the former WWE Universal Champion and Bobby Lashley on social media.

Following the news that Goldberg will be returning for the upcoming PPV event in Saudi Arabia, fans have been wondering who he’ll take on at this show. It should be noted that WWE has yet to announce his opponent or even any matches for this show.

Lashley tossed his name into the mix of possible stars to take on the legendary pro wrestler. He did so by teasing a match against Goldberg at the PPV event. This led to Goldberg responding. You can see the exchange here:

https://twitter.com/Goldberg/status/1125053808202006528

WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia takes place on Friday, June 7. The show will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and will air live on the WWE Network.

It’s possible that Lashley could serve that role as he is a member of the Monday Night RAW roster, which is the brand that Goldberg will likely be affiliated with when he returns to television as it’s WWE’s flagship show to promote this show.

With the size and credibility of someone like Lashley, it could be argued that he would serve as the perfect opponent for Goldberg to go over on instead of facing a big name such as The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, among others.

Randy Orton Takes Shot At Goldberg Over His WWE Return

Randy Orton decided to take a shot at WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg after the news that he would be returning to WWE.

He’s signed a new contract with the company and will be making his return their next event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 7. The show will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and will air live on the WWE Network. The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are the other big name stars on the show.

It’s been reported that since Goldberg doesn’t wrestle very often, he’s coming in for big money especially for such a controversial event in the country.

Thus, Orton took to his official Twitter account where he took a job at the former WWE Universal Champion for the money he’s going to earn. Orton wrote the following:

After twelve years away from the company, he returned to WWE in 2016 and headlined Survivor Series against Brock Lesnar, and Fastlane against Kevin Owens where he won the WWE Universal Championship. He lost the title to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

Goldberg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year during WrestleMania 34 weekend and was last seen on WWE television the night after Mania on RAW.

Tony Khan Interested In Goldberg Wrestling For AEW

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan is “obviously” open to the prospect of Bill Goldberg wrestling for AEW, under the right circumstances. During an appearance on the X-Pac 1-2-360 podcast, Khan said that he knows Goldberg and hyped up his mainstream appeal.

“I have spent some time will Bill, I really like Bill a lot and he’s one of the greatest drawing cards ever in the business, he’s a huge star, a household name … and yeah, if the situation was right, obviously. I haven’t agreed to anything with Bill or anything but I like Bill a lot.”

After 12 years away from wrestling, Goldberg returned to the ring at WWE Survivor Series back in 2016. He flattened Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes, reigniting a rivalry that culminated at WrestleMania 33 and a WWE Hall of Fame induction.

At 52-years-old, the prospect of Goldberg having another run seems unlikely. That said, The Undertaker is 53 and wrestled several times this year. Chris Jericho, AEW’s biggest signing to date, isn’t much younger at 48. Goldberg’s agent is Barry Bloom has been working on AEW behind the scenes since its inception.

With AEW looking to make some noise, secure a TV deal and sell out the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (Capacity: 16,800), Goldberg could be another piece of the puzzle that helps them achieve these goals.

Do you think Goldberg could be an asset to AEW, even if it’s for one special attraction match?

Goldberg Comments On Hulk Hogan’s WWE HOF Reinstatement

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg was interviewed by Inside The Ropes and discussed several professional wrestling topics.

Goldberg discussed Brock Lesnar’s eventual UFC return during the interview. The former Universal Champion will challenge Daniel Cormier for the UFC heavyweight title. The UFC hasn’t announced a date for the fight as of this writing. However, it’s looking like it will be early 2019:

“Show me another guy who can do [UFC],” said Goldberg. “You gotta have cojones, you gotta have a special ability, you gotta have a desire to do certain things. Brock is a different human being.

“Brock is a guy who reinvents himself all the time and who capitalizes on opportunities that others don’t have the cojones to capitalize on.”

The former WCW World Champ then offered his thoughts on Hulk Hogan. “The Hulkster” was reinstated into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. Goldberg offered a rather blunt response to the matter:

“Well if WWE didn’t think it could be a positive thing, he never would have been reinstated,” Goldberg said.

Goldberg Open To Wrestling The Undertaker, Says WWE HOF Ceremony ‘Sucks’

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg recently spoke with the guys from Inside The Ropes after his sold-out stage show from Dublin, Ireland. Goldberg spoke about a variety of topics, including his thoughts on the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, feeling like a caged animal on RAW the night after WrestleMania and the possibility of wrestling The Undertaker. Here are the highlights

WWE’s Hall of Fame Ceremony

Bill Goldberg was the headline inductee for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. By the time Goldberg gave his induction speech, many of the WWE Superstars had already left the arena. The ceremony lasts 3+ hours during WWE’s busiest weekend of the year. Goldberg reveals he spoke to Vince McMahon about the need to make changes to the event’s formt.

“First and foremost I went to Vince and I told him my impression of the Hall Of Fame and what should happen,” Goldberg said. “I don’t think it’s a justice to the people being inducted. I don’t think it’s a justice to the fans that sit there for four hours. I think it needs to be changed completely right up on its head.”

He continued, “It needs to be changed because it sucks … I don’t care about what other people say or how they did it, I’m telling you in my experience as a headliner in 2018 in the Hall Of Fame — it needs to be changed.”

The Possibility of Wrestling The Undertaker

The night after WrestleMania, Goldberg addressed the WWE Universe as a Hall of Famer. He thanked everyone for supporting him during his latest WWE run. He was very grateful that his son got a chance to see him be ‘Goldberg’ in person.

Goldberg also revealed that it was very difficult for him to be backstage at Raw, because he saw all the Superstars going out and doing what he loves to do. He is very competitive,  and still has the itch to compete under the right circumstances. When asked about the possibility of wrestling The Undertaker, Goldberg was very specific with the wording of his answer.

“No, don’t put words in my mouth,” Goldberg said when asked if he ‘would like’ to have a match against The Undertaker.  I wouldn’t like to have it. If it became available and it was right and people wanted it, I’m still capable of doing it. Because once I sit here and say, ‘It’s a match I’d like to have,’ it means that I’m asking for it. I’m not asking for anything. i’m just saying, if the cards fell right, I wouldn’t say no.”

Goldberg Reunites With Sting At Appearance (Photo)

Over the weekend two of the biggest names in WCW history reunited with one another.

Both Goldberg and Sting were at the Stand Alone Wrestling: Boardwalk Beatdown Pro Wrestling Experience convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Goldberg and Sting reunited and took a photo with one another.

Sting sported the old WCW World Title around his shoulder while Goldberg held the WWE Universal Title. Goldberg also met up with WWE legend Haku and took a photo with him as well.

He uploaded the photo to his Instagram to share with professional wrestling fans. Check it out here:

“Never know who your going to run into!!! To say these 2 men had a positive influence on me during my wrestling days is a mild understatement! Seems like just yesterday!!”

There’s no doubt that Sting and Goldberg are two of the biggest professional wrestling stars ever produced by WCW. Sting was with the promotion from 1987 until its collapse in 2001. During his tenure “The Stinger” captured one NWA World Heavyweight Championship and six WCW World Titles.

Goldberg also had a tremendous run with the company. He began his professional wrestling career with WCW in the late ’90s and had an undefeated streak that lasted a year. Eventually he defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Title on a historic episode of Nitro.

After the company went under Goldberg had two runs with WWE. His latest featured a great rivalry with Brock Lesnar that included a WWE Universal Title run. Sting finally came to WWE in 2014.

He feuded with Triple H but lost to “The Game” at WrestleMania 31. He went on to have matches with Seth Rollins and The Big Show before being inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2016 – announcing his retirement. Goldberg wasn’t too far behind, as he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame himself this past April.

Goldberg Issues Interesting Challenge To Video Gamers (Video)

WWE Hall Of Famer and former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg has issued out a challenge to video gamers.

Goldberg took to Instagram and announced a challenge to parents who have issues with their children playing too many video games. He announced the “100, 100, 100 Challenge,” something he said his own son does.

The object of the challenge is to do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 100 punches. After that, you get 20 minutes on the video games or iPad. You can check out the video below:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BlaTML5BRAM/?utm_source=ig_embed

Goldberg comes off a Hall of Fame Induction on WrestleMania 34 weekend this past April. He returned to WWE in 2016 for a feud with Brock Lesnar, which led to a match at Survivor Series that year. Goldberg defeated “The Beast” in just one-minute and twenty six seconds.

Eventually he’d go on to defeat Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, but dropped it to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.

Seth Rollins Will Find ‘A New Way,’ Goldberg Crashes Truck (Video)

Seth Rollins Will Have To Find ‘A New Way’

Seth Rollins came up just short in reclaiming the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules last night (Sun. July 15, 2018). “The Architect” was defeated by Dolph Ziggler in Sudden Death Overtime of their 30-minute Ironman match. Rollins took to Twitter after the loss and noted that he’s going to have to “find a new way”:

It should be interesting to see what’s next for Rollins on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

Goldberg Crashes A Truck (Video)

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg recently got to drive a Toyota Tundra at the annual Goodwood Festival Of Speed in England this past weekend (Fri. July 13, 2018). Goldberg actually crashed the truck into a hay bale while driving it. Goldberg was doing well on the track until clipping the hay and being stopped dead in his tracks. He had just missed a few hay bales before as well. You can check out the video here below:

Goldberg Talks Possible Opponents For WWE Return, If Undertaker Should Retire

Goldberg has two names in mind that he would want to wrestle if he came back for another run in the WWE.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently spoke with Digital Spy to talk about various topics. Goldberg noted in this interview that he would like to work with Roman Reigns or The Undertaker if he did return to the sports entertainment company.

He noted that the reason he has those two names on his list is for two different reasons but would be honored to get in the ring with either one of them. He pointed out that he still owes Brock Lesnar a match.

Goldberg was also asked about if The Undertaker should retire, which he responded by stating that it’s not his decision and that at the end of the day, it’s up to the person lacing those boots up.

“And one person’s opinion doesn’t mean that things are right or wrong. I believe that in Mark’s head, Mark knows when to call it quits. He’ll do it when he wants to, and nobody can tell him otherwise, except for Vince, maybe. You know, they can sit down and have a man-to-man, and when it gets to the point where the performance isn’t there, or you’re enduring too much pain [where] you have to prepare too many different ways to get into the match, then it’s time to do it.”
