WWE Attitude Era star Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes lost his match against current WWE Champion Randy Orton on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW. As noted this past weekend when the match was announced, the stipulation was that if Goldust defeated Orton, and Cody Rhodes was willing to apologize, Cody Rhodes would get his job back with WWE.

Due to the fact that Goldust lost on RAW, how WWE will explain Cody Rhodes’ return in the storyline on television is anyone’s guess at this point. It is known, however, that Cody Rhodes will be returning to WWE television after his wedding and honeymoon.

– Speaking of Cody, his wedding to former WWE Diva Eden Stiles (Brandi Reed) did not take place over the weekend, as JBL said it would last week on RAW. Cody will be off television for several weeks for the wedding and then presumably, their honeymoon.

As reported earlier this weekend, it was announced on the official Twitter account of Brad Maddox that on Monday’s RAW, in addition to the return of WWE Hall Of Famer Adam “Edge” Copeland, one of the main events will be current WWE Champion Randy Orton versus Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes in a match where if Goldust wins, and Cody Rhodes apologizes, Cody gets his job back with WWE.

The report was later additionally confirmed via a tweet on the official Twitter account of Goldust.

The story broke on Twitter, where on the official account of Brad Maddox, it was noted that after speaking with Triple H, it is confirmed that on Monday’s RAW it will be Goldust vs. Randy Orton, where if Goldust wins, and Cody Rhodes apologizes, Cody can have his job back with WWE.

-WWE Superstar Triple H recently spoke to the Orlando Business Journal about a potential physical WWE Hall Of Fame building. Hunter said, “I don’t want a Hall of Fame or some other attraction to just be something where people see some guy’s shorts. We are the WWE and we are big, so whatever we do needs to be the same. – There was some concern in WWE that CM Punk might have been injured on RAW during his no disqualification match against Kane. At one point in the match, Punk took a bad bump and cameras quickly cut away, while referee Mike Chioda threw up the “X” symbol. – WWE.com has published an exclusive video interview with Goldust, who talks about his surprise return in Sunday’s Royal Rumble match. Goldust says his beef with Cody is far from over.

In this career retrospective interview, Goldust talks about everything from his early days as The Natural in WCW to his most recent tenure in WWE and his attempts to secure a Wrestlemania match with his brother Cody Rhodes. Highlights of the conversation include discussing the beginnings of the Goldust concept and how he didn’t actually know what he was signing up for when he was pitched the “androgynous” character, creating the stuttering gimmick with Booker T based on a backstage rib, and revealing that he came up with all his own outrageous costumes including his undergarments at Wrestlemania 12. Finally Dustin also expresses his gratitude for how much the WWE Wellness Program helped turn his life around.

Talking about how far the idea of “Cody Rhodes vs Goldust” at WrestleMania went, and Vince McMahon’s reaction:

“It was discussed several times. I took it to Vince’s attention many times and this was like months before and almost a year before things like that. Each time he was like no, second time no not going to do that, third time no, not yet, he left that open for me with not yet, it gave me a little hope.”

His early days in WCW and WWF as “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes

“You know me and Steve Austin had some knock down drag out matches in the ring and a lot of blood was spilled things like that, we had some great matches. I think probably the feud I had with him was marked my favorite.”

Initially being uncomfortable with the Goldust:

“As far as the work it took me about 6 months of Vince saying I’m going to stand behind you and no matter what. I don’t want you to get head strong, if you’re stressed out just give me a call if you need to talk, and I did on several occasions. I really got no direction on how to be more androgynous and I was just learning how to be a heel.”

– WWE’s romance storyline with John Cena and AJ Lee was placed on the back burner on Raw Monday as a result of photos surfacing online of the Cenation leader appearing as former WWE Diva Nikki Bella’s date at her ten-year high-school reunion in Scottsdale, Arizona two weeks ago. The photos received a lot of publicity from TMZ, so continuing Cena’s storyline with Lee just three days later would have thrown it “in the face of the fans.” The storyline is expected to resume later this month.

Cena’s character was depicted as “goofy” and “happy-go-lucky” because WWE wanted to promote the positive vibe around him based on the publicity he had received.

Cena’s date with Bella was legitimate as they have been together “for a little while.” Daniel Bryan and former WWE Diva Brie Bella also attended the event as a date as the two have been romantically involved for several months.

– Retired wrestler Black Bart is undergoing surgery this week to remove his gall bladder, reports SLAM! Wrestling. The 64-year-old appeared for numerous organizations throughout his 27-year career, including the World Wrestling Federation in the late 1980s as a “jobber to the stars.”

– The late Eddie Guerrero is featured in today’s “Superstar Spotlight” on WWE.com. He passed away seven years ago today after being found unconscious in his hotel room in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by his nephew, Chavo. Chavo attempted CPR, but Eddie Guerrero was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived at the scene. He was 38 years old. An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of Acute Cardiac failure due to underlying Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular disease.

– Former WWE stars Goldust and Tommy Dreamer have been announced to appear at the Wales Comic Con taking place Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Wrexham, United Kingdom.

– As reported over the weekend, JBL will be doing commentary once again at tonight’s RAW. JBL got mixed reviews backstage for his commentary work at Night of Champions. The feeling was that did a good job, but was rusty and made a few mistakes earlier in the evening. JBL was doing his “homework” backstage before the show, getting himself up to speed on WWE’s characters and storylines.

– Bret Hart spoke to WWE.com after his appearance on Monday’s WWE RAW from Montreal. Bret said his homecoming was an uplifting, happy moment for him. He also said he wishes he could have wrestled CM Punk in his prime.

– WWE.com also has an exclusive video from a commercial break at Monday’s RAW, when the CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton and Jerry Lawler match was made. With all 4 wrestlers brawling at ringside, RAW General Manager AJ Lee came out and made the match.

– WWE.com now streams footage from RAW live during commercial breaks.

– Former WWE superstar Goldust tweeted the following after Monday’s RAW regarding the Prime Time Players:

“These 2 @primetimeplayers have improved alot! Good for u titus and darren. Keep learnin boys ur doing great #RAW”

Goldust, who was working as an agent earlier this year, was reportedly released because he booked a spot where the Prime Time Players delivered a double powerbomb to Yoshi Tatusu. The spot was deemed unsafe reckless by WWE management.

– Road Dogg and Josh Mathews introduce a new batch of clips “that will make you laugh, cry, or both” on this week’s episode of “Are You Serious?,” including highlights ridiculing John Laurinaitis’ past as a member of the Dynamic Dudes. Also featured are clips of “Mean” Gene Okerlund hosting “The Mating Game,” Kwee Wee and the World Bodybuilding Federation.

– Dustin Rhodes, formerly known as Goldust in WWE, has launched an official website at dustinrhodes.lockerdome.com. He is holding a contest for autographed action figures and books.
